Kicking off season 2 of Mamas Talkin Loud we were honored to speak with 6 time Tony award winner and venerable pillar of the theater community, Audra McDonald.

TRIGGER WARNING: sensitive conversation about miscarriage

As a mother with 15 years between her girls, she has seen a shift in how our industry views parenthood, but knows there is still SO much work to be done. She shares with us the differences in parenting then and now, and how her older daughter is actually helping her be a better parent the second time around. As a founding member of Black Theatre United, she is working tirelessly to affect real change through civic engagement, all while balancing the life of a working mother artist, amidst a global pandemic.
