The relationship between money and psychology is tricky for anybody, but perhaps no one as much as an actor. Much of what makes finances hard for actors to negotiate is the fact that we can’t depend on a steady paycheck. If you don’t know how much money you’ll make this year – let alone in five years – how can you plan for the future?

This is where Jodi Carter comes in. Jodi is a CPA who has developed the concept of Ifcome. Ifcome involves an awareness of finances that aligns with a performer’s goals. This insight into their expenses and goals allows actors to plan for their financial future, in spite of uncertainty. So, I asked Jodi into the studio explain Ifcome to me, and how it can help actors become more successful creatively. Here’s our conversation…
