Scott Bakula may be best known for his starring roles in two iconic science fiction television series. He captivated audiences as Dr. Sam Beckett in Quantum Leap, a physicist who leaped through time to right historical wrongs, earning a Golden Globe award and multiple Emmy nominations for his performance. Also a seasoned stage actor, his early career journey began on the bright lights of Broadway. After making his professional debut in the national tour of Shenandoah (1977), Bakula soon found himself gracing the Broadway stage. He understudied in Is There Life After High School? (1982) and later portrayed baseball legend Joe DiMaggio in Marilyn: An American Fable (1983).
