Katy Pfaffl is a multi-faceted artist who originated the role of "Song Woman" in War Horse on Broadway at Lincoln Center and has dedicated the past 24 years to nurturing emerging talent in the Broadway and Music industry. As a premier voice teacher and coach, she has had the pleasure of teaching Tony Award winner Matt Doyle, Academy Award nominee Stephanie Hsu, and many other incredible Broadway artists, helping them realize their dreams and reach their full potential.
In addition to her remarkable teaching career, Katy’s work as a composer has left an indelible mark on the music, film, and television industries. From composing for high-profile events like the Golden State Warriors' Chase Center Opening and the UN Female Global Diplomats to scoring indie and feature films, her work has resonated across various media. As a singer-songwriter under the names Mighty Kate and Daughter & Son, she has produced and released six albums of original music and toured across the U.S.
Her passion for arts education led Katy to co-found the non-profit Broadway for Arts Education (BAE) in 2016, which continues to use the arts to break down systemic barriers for underserved youth in NYC and across the world. Katy is also the Co-CEO of the immersive audio company Vrialto LLC, where she explores the intersection of art and technology. As the co-creator and host of Super Swings, Katy brings her rich background in the arts and commitment to education to the forefront, offering listeners deep and insightful conversations with the versatile performers who keep Broadway alive.
