Lea DeLaria is a dynamic performer known for her trailblazing work as an actor, comedian, and jazz musician. She made history in 1993 as the first openly gay comic to appear on American television, and her boundary-pushing career has continued ever since. DeLaria’s Broadway debut came in the 1998 revival of On the Town, where she starred as Hildy, earning critical praise for her powerful voice and comedic timing. She has also performed in notable Off-Broadway productions, including The Rocky Horror Show and The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, solidifying her reputation as a versatile and fearless performer.
