About

Maria Wirries is a Haitian-American singer, actress, dancer, musician, and composer based in New York City. A graduate of Penn State's acclaimed BFA musical theatre program and a Young Arts alumna, she is known for her powerhouse vocals and multifaceted artistry. Her Broadway credits include The Lost Boys, in which she starred as Star, Dear Evan Hansen, and Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends. Off-Broadway, she has been featured in the revival of Kinky Boots and Penelope, or How the Odyssey Was Really Written, and she toured with the first national company of Dear Evan Hansen.

As a songwriter and recording artist, Wirries has released an album, an EP, and several singles spanning a range of musical styles. She is a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop and has developed original musicals at the Goodspeed Opera House, the Paramount Theater, and Penn State University. Her ability to move seamlessly between performing and composing makes her a truly distinctive voice in the theatre community.
