About

Morrissey is perhaps best known for her powerful portrayal of the misunderstood witch Elphaba in the mega-hit musical Wicked. She earned the coveted role after a decade of honing her craft in national tours of Wicked (Elphaba), Mean Girls (Janis), and the iconic Hair (Sheila).

A graduate of Syracuse University's BFA Musical Theatre program, Morrissey's talent extends beyond leading roles. She's a passionate advocate for artistic development, having established "Double Name Witches" during the pandemic. This virtual musical theatre school provided a creative outlet for over 100 students aged 5-30. She also maintains a thriving private teaching studio in Brooklyn and online.

Morrissey's impressive resume boasts credits beyond national tours. Off-Broadway audiences were treated to her performance in David Byrne's Joan of Arc: Into the Fire (The Public Theater), while international fans witnessed her captivating Sheila in the HAIR tour. Regionally, she's graced stages with productions like Elmer Gantry (Signature Theatre), Lizzie the Musical (Portland Center Stage), and Little Women (Syracuse Stage). Her artistic explorations extend to development work at esteemed institutions like Vineyard Arts, The O'Neill, Theatreworks Palo Alto, and Denver Theater Center.
