[0:00] R. Alex Murray: Gotta go.
[0:30] R. Alex Murray: Is, um, a red Burger King foot lettuce is a Reddit post.
[0:36] R. Alex Murray: Okay, we have to start the...
[1:00] R. Alex Murray: Hey, what's up?
[1:07] R. Alex Murray: We're back.
[1:08] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, baby.
[1:09] R. Alex Murray: It's a well met we're, we're back.
[1:11] R. Alex Murray: We're on the road, man.
[1:13] R. Alex Murray: It's me, R. Alex Murray.
[1:14] Jasmine Malave: It's you.
[1:15] RJ Christian: No last name needed.
[1:20] R. Alex Murray: You can find me last name needed.
[1:25] R. Alex Murray: Hell yeah. I mean, this is, we're back. We're going to be back on Wednesdays. Uh, we are out on the road. It happened. All of your dreams have come true. Listeners, the whole crew, we're all back.
[1:37] R. Alex Murray: The whole New York gang is back. Every single one of us. All for one and one for all, baby.
[1:43] R. Alex Murray: All for one. And everybody to the Texas Roadhouse where they have a bootleg blooming onion.
[1:50] RJ Christian: Yeah, they do.
[1:52] R. Alex Murray: Uh, speaking of like Reddit chatter, that it's actually supposed to be better. So this is what we're going to do going forward, man. Then we're, we're going to have at least one just sort of chat show every week where we just talk about life on the road and it's whoever's here is here. So welcome to that.
[2:07] R. Alex Murray: And then there will also be some live play, you know, actual play crap. Ooh, we got goblins.
[2:14] RJ Christian: Sheets.
[2:14] R. Alex Murray: Yeah. They're coming back, baby. Yes. But, uh, yeah, we, we did spend our first week teching in Richmond, Kentucky, which is no disrespect to Richmond, Kentucky and exit off of a highway. Like not, not a lot's going on. Very similar to my hometown, North Carolina.
[2:33] RJ Christian: Whoa.
[2:33] R. Alex Murray: They have an entire shopping center. So I, I just, as a person who was in a place, grew up in a place that didn't have one, I'm like, wow, Richmond, Kentucky, everything, dude, they have an altar, you guys.
[2:45] RJ Christian: That's true.
[2:48] R. Alex Murray: They did. I had a Target 20 minutes away off of the highway.
[2:52] RJ Christian: Wow.
[2:53] R. Alex Murray: Yeah. Okay. Fair enough. You know, there are levels. I was like, wow, I could walk to an Alta.
[3:00] RJ Christian: Yeah, but you've got to like, you had to sprint across a five lane highway.
[3:04] R. Alex Murray: You did. It was precarious. It was perilous. It felt like Frogger.
[3:08] RJ Christian: It did.
[3:09] R. Alex Murray: But that's the way America likes it. I was going to, I tried to walk to a Waffle House and there was just, there was the sidewalk just ended. I was like, all right, I'm going to walk up. And I was looking at the Waffle House, but it was down like 450 yards down, like a freeway, a six lane freeway.
[3:28] R. Alex Murray: And I was like, I could probably, the shoulder looks pretty good. I would have to go over and over past to get there on foot. And I was like, I bet I could make it, but also I don't want to get hit by a truck. So I looked up and there was an IHOP to your point in the giant complex across the street. And I was like, pancakes, we'll get it done today.
[3:49] RJ Christian: And an IHOP and a Waffle House. I only had a Denny's.
[3:52] R. Alex Murray: Hell yeah. Well, it was, it was that right. It was kind of nice to be like in that we were like, we did, I went to the Texas Roadhouse, which was right next to our hotel three times in one week, which I haven't done since high school because in high school, the Chili's was the only thing there was back to form. God, it's beautiful.
[4:11] R. Alex Murray: But the like, speaking of red and shit, the bootleg, did you eat the blooming onion?
[4:15] Jasmine Malave: No, the cactus flower that I didn't even know was a thing just blossom.
[4:19] R. Alex Murray: Blossom. Thank you. I want to eat it. I didn't actually go cause, uh, I just, it didn't work out timing wise for me.
[4:25] RJ Christian: That's incredible.
[4:26] R. Alex Murray: It was like, you could fall into the Texas Roadhouse.
[4:29] Jasmine Malave: Well, I'm not going to go eat a whole cactus blossom by myself.
[4:32] R. Alex Murray: Coward.
[4:33] Jasmine Malave: Your priorities are off.
[4:35] R. Alex Murray: You're right. I've made a grave mistake. I'll go do it by myself. Cactus blossom to the dome by myself.
[4:41] Jasmine Malave: Oh, I'm Jasmine Malave. I can't eat an old fried onion. Ooh, look at me.
[4:45] R. Alex Murray: I can, but you're not going to enjoy doing the show with me the next day.
[4:49] Jasmine Malave: Well, I, I will swing out.
[4:53] R. Alex Murray: I swing out. What's the reason? Sacrifice.
[4:57] Jasmine Malave: Jasmine's about to gas me on this day.
[4:59] R. Alex Murray: His farts are terrible.
[5:00] Jasmine Malave: Subject line of the email is calling out Ari onion farts.
[5:08] R. Alex Murray: I have to make a formal complaint about a cast member. Jasmine keeps farting.
[5:12] Jasmine Malave: You can't because I have an incurable disease, which is why I have all of that. And that's a hate crime.
[5:17] R. Alex Murray: Oh, damn it. Onion ableism.
[5:24] Jasmine Malave: I mean, that's how, man, I'm getting used to like not having all the things that make me feel well as truly real. That's really hard.
[5:32] R. Alex Murray: Yeah. Like I don't have all my stuff. I don't have all my pillows. I don't have my emotional support.
[5:37] Jasmine Malave: Very good microphone.
[5:39] R. Alex Murray: How's that pineapple?
[5:41] Jasmine Malave: Oh, really good. I started eating it and I was like, I shouldn't do this while we're recording.
[5:50] R. Alex Murray: No, you absolutely should. Give us an ASMR moment.
[5:54] Jasmine Malave: No, that's mouth noises.
[5:55] R. Alex Murray: No, no, no. Not for free.
[5:58] Jasmine Malave: If you subscribe to her, her only fan.
[6:01] R. Alex Murray: Yeah, it's on our, it's on the Alien Well Met Patreon is just eating pineapple for $5 a month.
[6:10] Jasmine Malave: Honestly, if someone wanted to pay for it, I will record myself eating the whole thing. Sure. I'll do it.
[6:21] R. Alex Murray: I mean, I bet you get, that's an Instagram reel. If nothing else, just like, yeah. Time-lapse just quietly crushing a cactus blossom.
[6:30] Jasmine Malave: If that video goes up, you know, we're, we're desperate.
[6:35] R. Alex Murray: It was a reasonable size. I ate, I ate, I partook in two cactus blossoms during my time in Richmond, Kentucky.
[6:42] Jasmine Malave: Okay. I feel better about it.
[6:43] R. Alex Murray: And like, they were reasonable. Like with the ones you get at Outback are like fucking, they're like Australian size, right? And they're like, fuck you. We've got a mutant onion. Eat the whole thing and die. And I think like I read a thing once where if you eat the whole thing, it's over 2,000 calories.
[6:59] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[7:01] R. Alex Murray: This all this, the kind of energy it takes to throw these beamerangs around to keep up with the ruse.
[7:08] RJ Christian: Sheila.
[7:12] R. Alex Murray: The rows are getting away. I'm blooming. To track them down. I need that onion inside me.
[7:21] RJ Christian: Kick this blossom. I have to go watch kangaroo Jack the dingos. They've got my bloomin onion. Fuck my baby.
[7:29] R. Alex Murray: But before I started eating the pineapple and distracted myself, I was going to say that like also not having the things has been really hard. Yeah. Like I made a very conscious decision to have one fourth of my carry on luggage be a five pound oppa plushie and I don't regret it.
[7:48] Jasmine Malave: I live by my choices.
[7:49] R. Alex Murray: It's so wild. It's a whole percentage like slot of your, it is like a inventory slot of your, it's a whole section of my carry on.
[7:58] RJ Christian: Oh man. We've been well prepared though. All the, all of our inventory management training has come to this.
[8:05] R. Alex Murray: Oh, I have no training. I will accidentally pick up barrels and I'll be like, why am I so full? I can't carry everything.
[8:12] RJ Christian: Where the fuck is RJ? He's encumbered again.
[8:14] R. Alex Murray: He's still back in terminal C. I'm coming guys. I have three acid barrels and seven planks of wood and seven medium stones.
[8:24] Jasmine Malave: Why do you keep picking up the painting?
[8:27] R. Alex Murray: We might, we might use.
[8:28] RJ Christian: I could sell them.
[8:29] R. Alex Murray: No, I could sell them. They're like $8 dude. We could just murder the guy with all the paintings and take his money.
[8:35] RJ Christian: But, but I, I leveled up into charisma so I could sell it for a higher value.
[8:39] R. Alex Murray: This is my purpose. This is my role. Let me do this.
[8:41] Jasmine Malave: Don't even have that much coin.
[8:45] R. Alex Murray: You're, you're playing a different game than I'm playing. And I respect, I respect your game.
[8:50] RJ Christian: I'm playing Monopoly.
[8:51] R. Alex Murray: You're playing Baldur's Gate.
[8:53] RJ Christian: Monopoly Gate.
[8:54] R. Alex Murray: RJ's over there owning Boardwalk and the rest of us are idiots.
[8:57] Jasmine Malave: That would be such a, now I want to do a play through of the game where it's like, how much money can I make? It's just literally how, like, just like, I don't care about the goblins. I don't care about anything or the tadpoles in my head. Just trying to see how much money I can make by the end of it.
[9:12] R. Alex Murray: Just throw a bunch of money at it. It's like, yeah, I'm going to slurp 15,000 potions that I bought with my 8 million gold.
[9:19] RJ Christian: One of them.
[9:19] R. Alex Murray: And yeah, right. Yeah, yeah. And then just like walk up to the elder brain and be like, uh, I'll have, here's 8 million bucks. Go away.
[9:25] Jasmine Malave: Do you think you, I want there to be a capitalism ending option. I will buy you a new heart, babe. You do not have to explode.
[9:37] R. Alex Murray: Yeah. Oh, thank you for that. Oh man. Astarion, we'll find the finest SPF, my guy. Don't worry. I'll slather you.
[9:46] Jasmine Malave: I'm going to make it. We created a foundation that's raising money for your cause.
[9:51] R. Alex Murray: The Pale Elf Fund.
[9:57] Jasmine Malave: Pale Elf Fund. We'll find a cure.
[10:01] R. Alex Murray: Fun runs for Astarion.
[10:04] Jasmine Malave: Bloodletting for the cure.
[10:07] R. Alex Murray: Welcome to the sixth annual Turkey Trot to benefit the Pale Elf.
[10:12] Jasmine Malave: At the end, you can drain your own turkey.
[10:19] R. Alex Murray: I was trying to think of Turkey Trot, but like with a drain and I don't know.
[10:23] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, the dingo drain.
[10:24] R. Alex Murray: Welcome to the fifth annual dingo drain.
[10:27] Jasmine Malave: Oh boy. Yeah. It's, it's, it's wild out here.
[10:32] R. Alex Murray: I just, uh, but I am enjoying how, how's hotel life treating you guys?
[10:37] RJ Christian: I'm kind of really into it, honestly.
[10:40] RJ Christian: Yeah. Just being able to throw my shit down, not have to worry about anyone else in my space. Cause I, I live with three roommates, so this is just like, oh shit, it's all me. And I can also kind of be as messy as I want as to my comfort.
[10:57] R. Alex Murray: Right. It's just like, I'm the only one who's going to see this. I'll spread out. Finding new levels of like, at what point am I going to disgust myself? I don't, boy, let's find out. Hmm. That's just a pile of dirty laundry on my couch. Nobody's not bothering anybody. It's fine. I can walk around naked anyways.
[11:18] Jasmine Malave: I do also like that. They've been putting us up for people that don't know in places that have kitchens. So we've got full fridges and things, which is very helpful so that we can balance out all of the fried food we're eating at Texas Road.
[11:30] R. Alex Murray: Oh my God. Yeah. This, this week I was like, I have to counteract the many, many onion pedals that I consumed.
[11:38] RJ Christian: See what I didn't know. This is the first time for me. It looked like housekeeping does your dishes.
[11:43] R. Alex Murray: Wait, I was like, what? It's a Marriott. They, I like was like, Oh, I've just left. And accidentally she came in and not only did the dish, she ran my dishwasher and then put the dishes away. And I was like, I don't think I can do it.
[11:59] Jasmine Malave: I've been doing my dishes.
[12:01] R. Alex Murray: I respect it. I mean, I, I am a, I'm going to look now and see if this is true. We're coming, we're coming to you live from R. Alex Murray's, uh, hotel room at the, uh, you know what? Not going to knock to myself. Don't worry about where we are. We're somewhere.
[12:17] RJ Christian: I'll give you, I'll give you in DC. Come, come find us.
[12:22] R. Alex Murray: But yeah, I, uh, I try to like, I am the last part of a meal when I cook is washing everything and putting it away and all that shit sit in the, I would assume based on what you've said that there's just a pile of filth in your, no, no, I've made myself sound like some sort of dirt dauber.
[12:41] RJ Christian: No, I, I, as a North Carolina, I don't even know what the second half of that was.
[12:48] R. Alex Murray: They're like hornets that make nests in your, uh, in your garage out of dirt. If you live in the Southeast, they suck and they'll get you, you know, I'm actually talking about a dirt.
[13:03] Jasmine Malave: Yes.
[13:03] R. Alex Murray: Yes. That would do what? Yeah. We had them in our shed.
[13:05] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[13:06] R. Alex Murray: Yeah. Always in the sheds. Yep. Fuck your shit up.
[13:09] RJ Christian: Got to go.
[13:10] R. Alex Murray: Oh, I got to go. I had so many, this is an absolute side tangent and I'll talk more about being a Southern weirdo later at some other time, but like the epic quests that I would have to go on, the like threshold guardians to go to the shed and get the lawnmower. Oh, ridiculous.
[13:26] RJ Christian: Like sometimes they're poisonous snakes and it's just like, I'm trying to mow the yard. Can I get the shovel, please?
[13:32] Jasmine Malave: Don't, I, you grew up in scorpion country. You're making a crazy face.
[13:35] RJ Christian: Yeah, but we just kept things in like garages.
[13:39] R. Alex Murray: Snakes can get into a garage.
[13:40] RJ Christian: Not really.
[13:41] R. Alex Murray: Snakes can get onto a plane.
[13:43] RJ Christian: They can't.
[13:45] R. Alex Murray: I'm sick of these sticks on this motherfucking plane.
[13:47] RJ Christian: Get these motherfucking scorpions out of my motherfucking garage.
[13:51] R. Alex Murray: This is monkey fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane.
[14:00] RJ Christian: That's the dub.
[14:00] R. Alex Murray: Is that the TV dub?
[14:01] RJ Christian: That's a TV edit.
[14:02] R. Alex Murray: Incredible. These monkey fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane.
[14:06] RJ Christian: That's good. That's up there with, this is what happens when you meet a stranger in the Alps, which is the radio, the TV edit for the Big Lebowski for this is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass.
[14:15] R. Alex Murray: They change it to, this is what happens when you meet a stranger in the Alps.
[14:19] RJ Christian: Amazing.
[14:21] R. Alex Murray: When you meet a stranger.
[14:22] RJ Christian: As John Goodman is like destroying someone's car with a crowbar.
[14:25] R. Alex Murray: That's, that's good. Oh man. I'm sorry. I, I, I went on a dirt dauber tangent.
[14:31] RJ Christian: You were defending yourself. Oh right. Continue. Well what has happened, why this was so revelatory to me is that I don't cook with stainless steel. Oh yeah. I cook with non-stick. Sure. And I only have stainless steel pans. And so the first time I tried to cook eggs I messed that pan up. And so I was like I'm gonna let this soak and I'm gonna clean this later just so I can loosen it up a little bit. And I came back completely clean put away. I'm like thank you. My hero. I was gonna struggle. I felt bad. Well that's like I'm gonna schedule my cleaning for next Wednesday as well and I don't I don't know I might I might issue them a challenge. Dirty and ugly. You have one hour. Would you like to play a game? Jigsaw trap your room. Hello Carolyn. Housekeeping would be a good name for a horror movie.
[15:22] Jasmin Malave: Oh yeah. You're a housekeeper and now I'm keeping you. I keep you in my house. How will you get out of this mess?
[15:29] RJ Christian: Will you leave? How will you get out of this mess is the best tagline for that film ever. That's really truly very good. That's the one. Poster number two you made the bed now lie.
[15:43] Jasmin Malave: Yeah. No no no no. I made the bed. Now you lie.
[15:50] RJ Christian: Yeah there it is. Okay we found it. Oh man this is a good movie. Housekeeping or is the maid the jigsaw? Yes. Like is the yes the housekeeper is. And it's because like okay it's also a social commentary on the ruling rich class. She has been working for this asshole for so long and she finally snaps. I want to watch this movie and I want her to win. It's a reverse Home Alone.
[16:11] Jasmin Malave: Yeah. Is what it is.
[16:15] RJ Christian: Yeah. It's a like you. He like wakes up. And it's getting a little gone girl. Like it's a little. And he can't get out of the house. There's just traps everywhere. I made the bed now you lie and it is so good. I want her to win. I want this to be like the working class John Wick.
[16:26] Jasmin Malave: Oh yes absolutely. So good. And like she's just like one room ahead of him the whole time.
[16:32] RJ Christian: Yes. Tried to get out. I uh TM TM TM TM TM. This is our this is our writing. We got no you know he's like tied up with a rope and she's like oh you could absolutely untie yourself to find your steak knives. Man has never gotten his own steak. You know where they are. They are. He has never touched them. All right. Eat a steak.
[16:47] Jasmin Malave: Yeah. The code to get the like yourself out of the handcuffs. It's his kid's birthday. It's just his birthday.
[16:56] RJ Christian: And he doesn't know. He doesn't know. No I put a second code. It's my middle name.
[17:02] Jasmin Malave: Yep. Good luck. How many kids do I have. No you don't know. You're screwed. It's just it's just the empathy trivia quiz.
[17:14] RJ Christian: Yeah. And he has none. Nope. None. And then your boudoir falls on you.
[17:21] Jasmin Malave: Your boudoir. What's the thing they go to Narnia in wardrobe. Thank you. Got you. You could call it a boudoir. My boudoir. Is that a boudoir. Boudoir. Seaward. Seaward. Castleward.
[17:31] RJ Christian: We're back.
[17:38] Jasmin Malave: Yeah. I mean we can actually talk about OK. We'd like we're live on the road here. I also don't want to throw you under the bus. But R.J. Hi. Do you feel like.
[17:45] RJ Christian: Oh God. Telling the good people our fans. Oh about that. Your luggage typo.
[17:52] Jasmin Malave: OK. Yes. So we had a bit of a hassle getting into Richmond Kentucky. It was like there was a lot of bad dress rehearsal good performance energy. Right. Yes. Like it was just so hard for us to get where we were trying. Our flight got delayed. So our connection didn't happen. And then there was a scramble to try to figure out where we were going to fly into. And then one magical person was able to help us get a flight into the right place. But in all of the hullabaloo R.J.
[18:30] RJ Christian: Yes. So our bags were put on a different flight because we change flights.
[18:34] Jasmin Malave: Yeah.
[18:34] RJ Christian: So our bags were on the flight that we were going to get. That's all pretty standard.
[18:40] Jasmin Malave: Yeah. I mean it makes perfect sense. They were going to deliver it.
[18:42] RJ Christian: And so those bags went to Lexington L.E.X. right. Somehow maybe because it was late. Maybe you know there was a slip up. My bags were sent to L.A.X. that is not saying it is away. They were sent across the country on a little California vacation without me. And so for three days I had no clothes.
[19:04] Jasmin Malave: So R.J. just like you know the company got you some sweet jumpsuits at the Meijer.
[19:10] RJ Christian: Oh yeah. But like the Meijer trip is good though.
[19:16] Jasmin Malave: Yeah.
[19:16] RJ Christian: Solid Meijer is like you know a Wal-Mart esque store. So imagine me with the like the great value tracksuit on. And you know and honestly it was pretty nice. Not just a great value. It's baby blue. It looks good.
[19:28] Jasmin Malave: Yeah. I picked some good stuff. It was stylish. They gave me the card and said please don't be mad at us. And I said bet. Bet no problem.
[19:34] RJ Christian: But then. Yes. When we arrived.
[19:42] Jasmin Malave: Oh no. Yes. The second killer man is this is the like. Oh God. So I move my stuff into our hotel room here in D.C. and. We got here late. Late at night. We got here pretty late. I had to get a like a last minute hair appointment because we had a photo shoot tomorrow. The next day. And so I go for it. I drop off my stuff. I go to the hair appointment. When I come back my door key is not working. It's just like it's a weird beep that's going on.
[20:07] RJ Christian: And so I go down to the front desk. I'm like yeah I think I guess I have the wrong room key or it's not programmed. OK. She changed out. I try again. Let's have him three times. Doesn't work. A maintenance guy comes up. Turns out the battery to my door died. Which shouldn't be a thing that can happen.
[20:25] Jasmin Malave: No. Why. I can't. I also you're such a nice person. I would have gone berserk.
[20:34] RJ Christian: I have. I was. I have never contained that much fury in all my life.
[20:43] Jasmin Malave: No it's not your fault. It's fine.
[20:43] RJ Christian: No I understand. And so they couldn't open the door until the maintenance person came in the next morning.
[20:49] Jasmin Malave: That's like I would have looked at them and been like no. Yeah I would have been like open it now. Find a late night maintenance person. Find one. Where's the maintenance office. Insane. Is there a drill in it. There's no way you can. This cannot be the thing. This is what you kidnapped my things. And listen they got it dealt with and everybody was fine and they put RJ in another room and we're all very happy and I don't know how much shit we're gonna get into.
[21:16] RJ Christian: We're talking about our travel problems. We didn't say what place we're at. But it's bullshit and if I couldn't get my stuff. I know that you had just done a hair appointment but like if I couldn't have put my hair in the rollers I needed for the photo shoot the next day or like done my face wash and whatever I'd be beside myself. Like nope there's no soothing me.
[21:33] Jasmin Malave: You're just up and like holding on to the ceiling of your room. You all are gonna fix this. Like someone's gonna fix this before I go to bed.
[21:42] RJ Christian: Not that would look like a cat.
[21:48] Jasmin Malave: No it brought me to the edge. I brought me to the edge but I learned my deep breathing and I used a smile and here we are. I now have my clothes. I have access to my stuff again.
[22:02] RJ Christian: Yeah we're in we're getting in rhythm right. Like this is I think for me that like the last couple weeks have been like okay figure out how are we gonna travel and how are we gonna do stuff. And this couldn't possibly keep happening to you is what I'm feeling.
[22:12] Jasmin Malave: Shut up Jasmine. Why would you put why would you why would you set up the spike from the universe that will kill me.
[22:19] RJ Christian: I know you've got to feel like this cannot be the running joke of this show.
[22:30] Jasmin Malave: No no no you're gonna don't make it worse. Next time like I'm gonna be on the wrong plane. They're gonna send me to like Cancun and I won't be able to get back.
[22:40] RJ Christian: Well that would be great. Extra little vacation.
[22:44] Jasmin Malave: No I'm trying to work on 27 and ever.
[22:51] RJ Christian: Well they'll keep paying you. I'll have to put you up in Cancun for a night.
[22:58] Jasmin Malave: I don't want to be in Cancun. Stuck in Cancun doesn't sound awful.
[23:04] RJ Christian: Oh I have an unexpected day in Cancun. Time to have some fun.
[23:10] Jasmin Malave: No I'd be like just go to just go to senior frogs.
[23:13] RJ Christian: Yeah go to the club my guy. The drunk coeds.
[23:22] Jasmin Malave: Oh you're right you know I'll go have. Go drink some $30 yard long strawberry daiquiris.
[23:29] RJ Christian: Yeah as long as they adjust my per diem well I'll be okay.
[23:34] Jasmin Malave: Accordingly to the Cancun.
[23:39] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[23:39] Jasmin Malave: Oh man so wild. How are you guys feeling about these big ass houses we're playing to now?
[23:46] RJ Christian: It's insane. It's really really wild looking out and seeing all those faces and like looking back and not being able to see everybody.
[23:53] Jasmin Malave: Yeah it's so cool.
[23:54] RJ Christian: It is really cool. It's just so weird. I think like in my head I'm like it looks the bait the ground floor is kind of the same size as what we used to be in but then we've got tiers now too.
[24:03] Jasmin Malave: Yeah.
[24:03] RJ Christian: And so it's just all very bizarre that like you can call out to the top row and ask for names and stuff up there.
[24:10] Jasmin Malave: Oh I love it. I love yelling at the balcony.
[24:13] RJ Christian: Yeah. Balcony people are my people dude.
[24:17] Jasmin Malave: Balcony people are rowdy.
[24:20] RJ Christian: Balcony people are. Sorry we were just attacked by a bird. Did you guys see the bird?
[24:24] Jasmin Malave: I saw that yeah.
[24:25] RJ Christian: Get out of here bird.
[24:27] Jasmin Malave: Okay. That's less an attack than meeting a bird.
[24:31] RJ Christian: Yeah get to know me first.
[24:34] Jasmin Malave: See you later. Come back for a blueberry mango seltzer.
[24:40] RJ Christian: Okay. What's your name bird?
[24:43] Jasmin Malave: Oh Tyler.
[24:44] RJ Christian: Okay. You seem chill. What kind of bird are you?
[24:48] Jasmin Malave: Oh a pelican. Are you cool with us publishing you being on this podcast?
[24:53] RJ Christian: Do I get paid?
[24:54] Jasmin Malave: You're a pelican?
[24:56] RJ Christian: Yeah. You lost Tyler. I'm on vacation.
[25:01] Jasmin Malave: Wow you're lost.
[25:02] RJ Christian: I know where the fuck I am.
[25:05] Jasmin Malave: Jesus.
[25:06] RJ Christian: Okay. You think you know a guy. It's nice to meet you Tyler. Get out of here. You don't know me at all. What's my name Tyler? When's my birthday?
[25:14] Jasmin Malave: Welcome to my house of horrors Tyler.
[25:17] RJ Christian: Oh no I made my bed and I'm lying in it.
[25:20] Jasmin Malave: You keep me in the house.
[25:22] RJ Christian: Yeah. Nest keeping. Housekeeping too. Empty nest.
[25:25] Jasmin Malave: For some reason there's a bird at this time.
[25:29] RJ Christian: Get this mother trucking pelican out of my Monday to Friday nest.
[25:33] Jasmin Malave: It's all coming together. It's the extended universe.
[25:39] RJ Christian: Yeah. This is our jobs. Our jobs are that.
[25:43] Jasmin Malave: Yeah. To just keep building the joke. It's both the worst and the best.
[25:48] RJ Christian: It's awesome. I really do feel our director is not going to be with us. Michael is not going to be with us is constantly on the road and his like last request was like hey you guys take me off the group chat which I was just like oh you don't want to you don't want to be part of us like doing like poor man toe bits at 3 a.m.
[26:02] Jasmin Malave: Okay. It's odd running jokes that happened from somebody saying one messed up thing at the bar last night.
[26:09] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[26:10] Jasmin Malave: Okay. We already have another one. Picture of the stupid song playing in the car from the dumb ass joke in Kentucky.
[26:16] RJ Christian: The paper planes. We were trying to sing as a group the chorus from one word at a time one word at a time by one one person and Diego while driving back just send us a picture of it and then we started texting the words one at a time because we're awful.
[26:33] Jasmin Malave: That's a fun bit for everyone especially if you're not part of it.
[26:38] RJ Christian: Oh inside jokes are really good for the outside people.
[26:41] Jasmin Malave: Yeah of course.
[26:43] RJ Christian: Oh man. Kennedy Center is cool for anybody listening.
[26:46] Jasmin Malave: Yeah it's it's really beautiful in there man. It is an incredible room.
[26:53] RJ Christian: Let us. It's a stunning stunning building.
[26:56] Jasmin Malave: It really is. God I'm excited to go into the bowels of the underground and find the cantina.
[27:01] RJ Christian: Yeah I haven't like explored it yet. I'm waiting for like next week when I'm a swing or whenever and I can just wander around or maybe I think I'm a swing. I've got some doubles coming up this half this weekend. I'm doing two shows on Saturday so I'm going to try to find the cantina for lunch.
[27:15] Jasmin Malave: In between.
[27:16] RJ Christian: Yeah and I'm like gonna just wander around. I didn't know that was a thing. I had a friend tell me about it before I left for tour because she's performed there as well and just like it is such a huge building. I want to go up to the rooftop area as well.
[27:24] Jasmin Malave: It's massive.
[27:25] RJ Christian: Yeah. It's gigantic. It looks goofy from the outside. Like it looks it makes sense from far away right. Whether it's like it sort of looks like Greek whatever but yeah steel columns.
[27:31] Jasmin Malave: Yeah.
[27:32] RJ Christian: And then you get up close and you're like this is just a big white box with poles.
[27:36] Jasmin Malave: Yeah and you go inside it's a freaking maze.
[27:40] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[27:41] Jasmin Malave: Yeah yeah it's all over. It's a beautiful red carpeted maze though.
[27:46] RJ Christian: It's true.
[27:47] Jasmin Malave: Have either of y'all tried to run up to the balcony for any reason during show or pre-show?
[27:53] RJ Christian: Not yet. I made a half-hearted attempt and then they're like they had this like red rope for the door. I was like I don't want to deal with this lady. I'm gonna walk back down.
[28:03] Jasmin Malave: I just ran up and like ran in and Usher was like excuse me sir and I was like I'm in the show and I just kept going.
[28:10] RJ Christian: Uh so like a pro tip if if you're an interactive feeder just scream I'm in the show and they'll give you access.
[28:17] Jasmin Malave: Yeah and they'll be confused.
[28:19] RJ Christian: I'm gonna try that when I'm not and not in the show.
[28:22] Jasmin Malave: Exactly yeah. I'm in it don't worry I'm in it. Just go to Hamilton and be like I'm Jefferson bitch.
[28:30] RJ Christian: Oh my that guy's Jefferson. You don't know.
[28:34] Jasmin Malave: Don't you know I'm Lafayette.
[28:43] RJ Christian: Literally the rap.
[28:50] Jasmin Malave: Come back with my guns. And ships and so the battle shifts croissants and rifts and cigarettes for babies.
[28:57] RJ Christian: Yeah yeah yeah yeah.
[28:58] Jasmin Malave: Why are they for babies?
[28:59] RJ Christian: I don't know that's like a I don't
[29:34] RJ Christian: Oh, what's up?
[29:38] Alex Murray: The dumbest bit.
[29:42] RJ Christian: Double Tyler.
[29:43] Alex Murray: It was so in your throat. It was...
[29:46] RJ Christian: Oh, what's up?
[29:51] Alex Murray: Yep. Yep, yep, yep, yep.
[29:54] RJ Christian: Yes, what's up?
[29:57] Alex Murray: I mean, what else, man? What's been going on?
[30:00] RJ Christian: I've been trying to... One thing about me, I love these scooters. People hate the scooters.
[30:05] Alex Murray: I love them so much. I love scooters.
[30:07] RJ Christian: I have not had the cojones to get on one yet.
[30:10] Alex Murray: Oh, I...
[30:11] RJ Christian: Can I just wave my phone at it and I get to ride a scooter?
[30:14] Alex Murray: You download the app and then you scan...
[30:16] RJ Christian: I know, but then once you download it...
[30:18] Alex Murray: But there's already attached to like Uber and stuff too.
[30:20] RJ Christian: Oh.
[30:21] Alex Murray: And like you can... You look at the Lime scooters that are... You can pick one that's already attached.
[30:25] RJ Christian: Oh.
[30:26] Alex Murray: And then you can just use that and then you just have to put the code that's on the scooter because it knows.
[30:29] RJ Christian: Oh, dope ass.
[30:30] Alex Murray: And unlike...
[30:31] RJ Christian: Why am I walking?
[30:32] Alex Murray: Unlike City Bike, you don't have to plug them in.
[30:34] RJ Christian: I don't know.
[30:35] Alex Murray: You can just leave them on any like bike rack.
[30:38] RJ Christian: That's why Christ... They're all... They're just willy nilly all over the city.
[30:41] Alex Murray: Everywhere.
[30:42] RJ Christian: It's great. Like, it's so free for all and you don't... That's the one thing I didn't like about City Bike.
[30:46] Alex Murray: Is that if you're like... If the closest thing is like five blocks from your house...
[30:49] RJ Christian: Yeah, you gotta take it to its bike prison.
[30:51] Alex Murray: It's so annoying.
[30:52] RJ Christian: And if the bike prison is full, you gotta go find another.
[30:54] Alex Murray: That's the worst.
[30:55] RJ Christian: Oh.
[30:56] Alex Murray: When you're like...
[30:57] RJ Christian: I can't park this...
[30:58] Alex Murray: Now I have to Google another... Yeah.
[31:00] RJ Christian: Nobody scooted. I've been scooting.
[31:02] Alex Murray: Because I was... Listen, I had a time out on the town last night.
[31:06] RJ Christian: And I was like, oh man, the subways are down or whatever.
[31:09] Alex Murray: Oh, I can just scoot.
[31:11] RJ Christian: And I just got...
[31:12] Alex Murray: How far away did you get from the...
[31:14] RJ Christian: I mean, I got two stops and then I walked up in a triangle and then I came back down one street like...
[31:20] Alex Murray: Hell yeah.
[31:21] RJ Christian: It was...
[31:22] Alex Murray: Amazing.
[31:23] RJ Christian: I planned my tour.
[31:24] Alex Murray: There you go.
[31:25] RJ Christian: And I scooted down. It was fun.
[31:26] Alex Murray: You're smarter than I just wandered off into Georgetown and started drinking beers.
[31:29] RJ Christian: I really wanna go... I heard that there's cupcakes that I have to go get.
[31:33] Alex Murray: From Baked and Wired.
[31:36] RJ Christian: So I wanna go down and get cupcakes.
[31:37] Alex Murray: I'm in.
[31:38] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[31:39] Alex Murray: Honestly, like, right after this, I was gonna maybe go get some cupcakes.
[31:42] RJ Christian: Let's go get cupcakes after this.
[31:44] Alex Murray: One thing about Alex Murray, he's either baked or wired.
[31:46] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[31:47] Alex Murray: And or.
[31:48] RJ Christian: It's only like 12 minutes away.
[31:50] Alex Murray: Sweet.
[31:51] RJ Christian: Sweet.
[31:52] Alex Murray: Well, the hell with this.
[31:53] RJ Christian: Okay, see you guys next week.
[31:54] Alex Murray: We're gonna go get cupcakes.
[31:55] RJ Christian: We're gonna go get cupcakes.
[31:56] Alex Murray: Ill and well met.
[31:57] RJ Christian: Yeah.
[31:58] Alex Murray: We're gonna go get cupcakes.
[31:59] RJ Christian: I think that's actually one of the things.
[32:00] Alex Murray: I drank the soda that we got in Kentucky.
[32:02] RJ Christian: It was so good.
[32:03] Alex Murray: Oh, yeah.
[32:04] RJ Christian: I think I might be the only person who drank one.
[32:05] Alex Murray: Which one of them?
[32:06] RJ Christian: A late one.
[32:07] Alex Murray: The Ale 8 one.
[32:08] RJ Christian: Oh, yeah.
[32:09] Alex Murray: I didn't have it.
[32:10] RJ Christian: It was like around...
[32:11] Alex Murray: It's the dumbest name for a soda that's ever been.
[32:13] RJ Christian: RJ got booed off the stage.
[32:15] Alex Murray: Oh, my God.
[32:16] RJ Christian: Because I...
[32:17] Alex Murray: Because he suggested to the people of Kentucky that he liked...
[32:19] RJ Christian: Cheerwine.
[32:20] Alex Murray: Cheerwine.
[32:21] RJ Christian: I didn't know about their local soda, and that was my bad.
[32:25] Alex Murray: They've got their own local soda.
[32:26] RJ Christian: That was hilarious.
[32:27] Alex Murray: I've never felt an audience turn on me so quickly.
[32:31] RJ Christian: And it's my fault for taking the south of the monolith.
[32:33] Alex Murray: It is not.
[32:34] RJ Christian: Nope.
[32:35] Alex Murray: We're not all the same.
[32:36] RJ Christian: I was given a hot tip.
[32:37] Alex Murray: I'll tell you two, and then people will know on Wednesday, and there might be a few more days of the show.
[32:41] RJ Christian: But if that rolls again on the chaos chart, I was told you could make the joke that Georgetown cupcakes are okay, but the real ones, no, you go to Baked and Wired.
[32:52] Alex Murray: Sweet.
[32:53] RJ Christian: And I was like, I'm just going to...
[32:54] Alex Murray: That's my only thing.
[32:55] RJ Christian: My local friend told me to say that.
[32:57] Alex Murray: Wow.
[32:58] RJ Christian: And I was like, heard.
[32:59] Alex Murray: You got the inside scoop.
[33:00] RJ Christian: Yep, I got the scoop for the city.
[33:02] Alex Murray: That's amazing.
[33:03] RJ Christian: Also, yeah, hey, listeners, if you've got...
[33:05] Alex Murray: Listen, if you've got recommendations for any of the cities that we're in or coming up, let us know.
[33:09] RJ Christian: Get on the Discord.
[33:11] Alex Murray: Tell us where to go.
[33:12] RJ Christian: Tell us.
[33:13] Alex Murray: Because I want the Rex anyway, and also I want to pander if I get that role.
[33:16] RJ Christian: Yes, I want both of those things.
[33:18] Alex Murray: I want to be beloved in every city that I go to, and also I would like to eat my way across America in the next 40 weeks.
[33:25] RJ Christian: Period, that part.
[33:26] Alex Murray: Oh, my gosh.
[33:27] RJ Christian: I want that food.
[33:28] Alex Murray: Yeah.
[33:29] RJ Christian: I'm about to eat some Peruvian food on Sunday because there's a really fancy restaurant that has a Michelin star doing a Peruvian Independence Day event, and I'm going to go in between the two shows.
[33:38] Alex Murray: That sounds freaking glorious, man.
[33:40] RJ Christian: Especially when you've got...
[33:41] Alex Murray: I've got nothing but time, right?
[33:43] RJ Christian: I get up in the morning and I work out, and I'm like, okay, well, my wife and dog are hundreds of miles away.
[33:48] Alex Murray: I don't have any chores.
[33:49] RJ Christian: I don't have any chores.
[33:50] Alex Murray: There's no plants to water here.
[33:52] RJ Christian: I guess I'll go eat cupcakes.
[33:54] Alex Murray: Yep.
[33:55] RJ Christian: I heard about this Japanese Ethiopian restaurant.
[33:59] Alex Murray: I don't know what that means, but I'm in.
[34:01] RJ Christian: I think the wife is Japanese and the husband is Ethiopian.
[34:05] Alex Murray: Wait, where?
[34:06] RJ Christian: It's in D.C.
[34:07] Alex Murray: I have not looked up exactly where it is.
[34:09] RJ Christian: I'm going to find it.
[34:10] Alex Murray: Ethiopian is some of my favorite food.
[34:11] RJ Christian: We've got to hunt this down.
[34:12] Alex Murray: Are you kidding me?
[34:14] RJ Christian: Get the fuck out of here.
[34:16] Alex Murray: Exactly.
[34:17] RJ Christian: And I got sushi.
[34:18] Alex Murray: I feel like we are dropping F-bombs left and right because we can't on stage.
[34:22] RJ Christian: We can't do it on stage.
[34:23] Alex Murray: Don't save it for the stage.
[34:24] RJ Christian: R-rated podcast.
[34:26] Alex Murray: The podcast is getting an explicit tag until I get told otherwise.
[34:29] RJ Christian: This is the official podcast, but it is explicit.
[34:33] Alex Murray: It's behind the scenes.
[34:34] RJ Christian: It's raw.
[34:35] Alex Murray: It's uncut.
[34:36] RJ Christian: It's unfiltered.
[34:37] Alex Murray: This is a raw glance into life on the road.
[34:42] RJ Christian: Thank you, Raw Glance.
[34:44] Alex Murray: New NPC named Raw Glance.
[34:46] RJ Christian: Raw Glance.
[34:51] Alex Murray: I'm Raw Glance.
[34:52] RJ Christian: Did Tyler come through here?
[34:54] Alex Murray: The worst American gladiator ever.
[34:56] RJ Christian: Raw Glance.
[34:58] Alex Murray: Raw Glance.
[35:01] RJ Christian: Sir, you should cook that at least medium well.
[35:04] Alex Murray: Your glance should be...
[35:06] RJ Christian: At least 160 degrees internal temperature.
[35:09] Alex Murray: Yeah, sous vide your glance, my guy.
[35:12] RJ Christian: Sous vide your glance.
[35:14] Alex Murray: That's a new sentence.
[35:15] RJ Christian: I don't think it's ever been said.
[35:16] Alex Murray: I think that's...
[35:18] RJ Christian: The thing that happens doing this job a lot is I'll say a sentence and be like, well, I might be the first person in human history to have uttered that string of words.
[35:28] Alex Murray: Yeah, what was it last night?
[35:29] RJ Christian: How are you going to kill this red-lipped fish?
[35:32] Alex Murray: Oh, yeah.
[35:33] RJ Christian: Yesterday's that I was really tickled that I got you so hard with it was, oh, yeah, his dragon heads.
[35:37] Alex Murray: Those are literally just slap bracelets.
[35:40] RJ Christian: So funny.
[35:42] Alex Murray: So, so, so funny.
[35:45] RJ Christian: Well, I immediately wrote down.
[35:46] Alex Murray: So, like, Will was running around being latent.
[35:49] RJ Christian: And when he's latent, it's very much Tiamat driven.
[35:52] Alex Murray: And he was like, the Holy Mother of Tiamat.
[35:54] RJ Christian: He's being Will.
[35:55] Alex Murray: He's being very intense.
[35:56] RJ Christian: And then he wanders off.
[35:57] Alex Murray: And Jasmine goes, no, no, no.
[35:59] RJ Christian: They're just slap bracelets.
[36:01] Alex Murray: He's the perfect...
[36:02] RJ Christian: He thinks he's talking to Tiamat.
[36:03] Alex Murray: He doesn't know her.
[36:04] RJ Christian: He's just got bracelets.
[36:06] Alex Murray: I, as the dungeon master.
[36:07] RJ Christian: What a great gift.
[36:08] Alex Murray: I didn't get to use it.
[36:09] RJ Christian: But I immediately just, I was like, yes.
[36:11] Alex Murray: And I just wrote down, Tiamat is jewelry.
[36:13] RJ Christian: Really bang on my thing.
[36:15] Alex Murray: I was like, the next time this fool tries to invoke his god, it's going to be not great for him.
[36:21] RJ Christian: He's just getting some Ravski crystals.
[36:27] Alex Murray: Oh, man.
[36:28] RJ Christian: Yeah, I call upon the power of the Pandora charm bracelet.
[36:33] Alex Murray: I hate those.
[36:35] RJ Christian: So dumb.
[36:36] Alex Murray: So tacky.
[36:38] RJ Christian: Sorry if you have a charm bracelet.
[36:40] Alex Murray: I respect it if you like.
[36:41] RJ Christian: I like charm bracelets.
[36:42] Alex Murray: I don't like Pandora charm bracelets.
[36:44] RJ Christian: Specifically Pandora.
[36:46] Alex Murray: Yeah, I don't.
[36:47] RJ Christian: I think they're too chunky and it's not fun.
[36:52] Alex Murray: Damn.
[36:53] RJ Christian: Controversial take.
[36:54] Alex Murray: Too chunky, not fun.
[36:55] RJ Christian: Reddit's going to explode.
[36:57] Alex Murray: I can't believe you said that.
[36:58] RJ Christian: Well, you have to understand.
[36:59] Alex Murray: I have fragile little baby wrists.
[37:01] RJ Christian: And so they look insane.
[37:07] Alex Murray: Who strapped this boulder to Jasmine's wrist?
[37:09] RJ Christian: I can't lift my arms anymore.
[37:13] Alex Murray: I'm just a baby.
[37:14] RJ Christian: I'm tired.
[37:15] Alex Murray: You're just a girl.
[37:16] RJ Christian: So instead of thick charm bracelets, you wear 5,000 friendship bracelets.
[37:21] Alex Murray: Yeah, I do, actually.
[37:23] RJ Christian: That's so real.
[37:24] Alex Murray: I love that you and Maddie brought your bracelets, too.
[37:27] RJ Christian: All of my New York bracelets went into the little bag that Maya gave us.
[37:32] Alex Murray: And I was like, yes, this is my bracelet gri gri power bag.
[37:36] RJ Christian: I brought all mine, but I only wear the ones that are the same track that I'm in.
[37:40] Alex Murray: So I only wear four or five at a time rather than 27.
[37:45] RJ Christian: Yeah, but Matt, that's the same thing y'all are doing, right?
[37:48] Alex Murray: I only wear the ones—and to be fair, because I did blue the most when we were in New York, I have an insane amount of blue bracelets.
[37:54] RJ Christian: And I only brought a fraction of the blue bracelets.
[37:57] Alex Murray: And then I brought all of everything else.
[37:59] RJ Christian: And so I just rotate depending on what track I'm doing.
[38:02] Alex Murray: Nice.
[38:03] RJ Christian: And if I get more, I'll just keep adding to the collection.
[38:05] Alex Murray: That's so real.
[38:06] RJ Christian: I can't—there's an amount of bracelets.
[38:09] Alex Murray: I don't mind—I like having a couple on.
[38:11] RJ Christian: It's like, oh, I got one.
[38:12] Alex Murray: Thank you.
[38:13] RJ Christian: I'll just put it on.
[38:14] Alex Murray: You weren't a candy kid going to all the raves?
[38:16] RJ Christian: No.
[38:17] Alex Murray: Were you?
[38:18] RJ Christian: I have so many still in a little bin, like a keepsake bin from my childhood.
[38:22] Alex Murray: I was like, when I was in high school and I had a very, like a signature look at the raves, I went to all of the candy kids, like the happy hardcore scene.
[38:31] RJ Christian: I was always up front.
[38:32] Alex Murray: I had a very distinct look and people knew.
[38:34] RJ Christian: Wow.
[38:35] Alex Murray: I put my hair in two space buns, and depending on the theme of each event, I put different flowers in the space buns.
[38:41] RJ Christian: I need images immediately.
[38:42] Alex Murray: Oh, I will find one for you.
[38:43] RJ Christian: I've got rave photos.
[38:44] Alex Murray: That's incredible.
[38:45] RJ Christian: I don't think I know this part of your lore.
[38:47] Alex Murray: Oh, my childhood is insane.
[38:49] RJ Christian: You guys have no idea.
[38:51] Alex Murray: I'm pretty put together now, but I was feral.
[38:54] RJ Christian: I love that.
[38:55] Alex Murray: I've never been.
[38:56] RJ Christian: Raves have never been.
[38:58] Alex Murray: I've never.
[38:59] RJ Christian: I'm groovy.
[39:00] Alex Murray: I like to chill.
[39:02] RJ Christian: I am groovy.
[39:03] Alex Murray: Yeah, I like to fucking mellow it out.
[39:05] RJ Christian: I just want to dance, and by dance, I mean jump a lot.
[39:08] Alex Murray: Right.
[39:09] RJ Christian: I just want to dance, and by dance, I mean sort of put both my thumbs up and then point them.
[39:14] Alex Murray: The Elaine?
[39:15] RJ Christian: Yeah, dude, just straight up noodle.
[39:17] Alex Murray: Yep.
