[0:00] Travis McElroy: Welcome back adventurers to Ale! And Well Met! 20 sided.

[0:34] Alex Murray: Well, Matt. Oh, no, it's oh, no, it's oh, no. Well, Matt, there we go. And welcome. Well, Matt. Ails. And well, ales and they can I jump right to it and say that every night? That was the most stressful thing for me because one, it was my first spoken line. Oh, sure. And then also for whatever reason, I was always there was a voice in the back of my hand. It's like, you're going to forget to say it funny. And you're just going to say ale. And then the rest of the show is going to be completely off kilter because you forgot the first like joke of the show that you made. It didn't get to block in.

[1:18] Travis McElroy: Yeah, I mean, that's the hello. Hey, that's Travis McElroy talking. I'm Alex Murray. Jasmine and Diego are here. You guys will say, hey, hi.

[1:27] Jasmine Malave: Hey, it's good to be back.

[1:29] Diego F. Salinas: I also don't know if it just to start the debrief. I don't know if you guys noticed, but for whatever reason, my brain could not give the order of the glorious randomness. That is the dice. And I switched it about every other time of like the random gloriousness or the glorious random.

[1:47] Travis McElroy: I didn't notice that. But everyone has a little thing. You committed it to your brain in a certain way.

[1:52] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah. And it literally was like I remember like running lines with my wife before coming out. And she was like, it's actually glorious randomness. And I was like, oh, right, right, right, right. And then I just kept switching it back and forth every time we did it.

[2:06] Travis McElroy: Once it gets in your head that way, then you can never quite trust yourself and know if you're saying. What's fun is the first time I did it on stage, I was sitting there thinking, like, this still makes sense, though, right? It still makes sense. It's still funny.

[2:20] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, you're good. The audience has no idea either.

[2:23] Travis McElroy: No, they don't know what's supposed to be said. Erica's now gone to some of the narrative. We will. And I just support the fuck out of it. I just say some of the narrative. You decide. Whatever, dude. Some of the narrative glorious randomness.

[2:34] Travis McElroy: I actually think like I was thinking about it and it's like, I'm dying to come back and I want to do the warrior track next. I was like, yeah, but, you know, that means you have to do everything first. You prompt all of it. I was kind of hoping to take a vacation like in like March.

[2:50] Alex Murray: So if you wanted to come through, then that would work out great.

[2:53] Travis McElroy: What do you got planned in March?

[2:55] Alex Murray: My birthday.

[2:57] Travis McElroy: Okay. Well, can I come? But you have to be there every night and like be on stage going, you're doing a great job.

[3:05] Alex Murray: Yeah. I'll the one condition on you coming back is that I get to be in the front row every single time. Just thumbs up. And I'm proud of you. Every time it's your turn to sail.

[3:14] Travis McElroy: Yeah. And go. It's got a little sign that says like Albert Einstein on it.

[3:20] Diego F. Salinas: No, you can't do that when I'm doing the warrior. That'll fight.

[3:23] Travis McElroy: Albert Einstein is also. Oh, no. Oh, that's good. Mine was Alan Tudyk. Every day is working right now.

[3:31] Jasmine Malave: It's good. It's the whole thing.

[3:34] Travis McElroy: It's Elphaba from Wicked.

[3:35] Jasmine Malave: Yes.

[3:36] Travis McElroy: Right now. It's getting a lot of.

[3:38] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah. Or you could like the idea of you being slightly off stage, like the dance teacher, like a child's dance recital.

[3:43] Travis McElroy: Oh, yeah. Just like just doing the choreography. The decider. Smile. Smile. Travis, don't make me put Vaseline on your teeth.

[3:53] Diego F. Salinas: Again, give me a flipper. Yo, Travis, one thing I'm curious about, kind of like in this whole like, you know, guest starring process. Like, I don't know how much you can talk about this, but like how how how much time passed from like when you guys were in conversation. So like the day that you showed up.

[4:11] Travis McElroy: Oh, it was so quick. So basically, I had seen the announcements about Erica and I think it may be a Bria at the same time. But, you know, basically I saw Felicia's and Bria's and Erica's. And I was like, how do I want to do this? That looks so fun. And so I reached out to my agent and I was like, hey, Joel, what do I need to do to get in this? And he was like, oh, they actually emailed a couple of months ago. But like, I didn't think I didn't think I was like, Joel, yeah, man. Yeah, I want to do it.

[4:46] Travis McElroy: So then, like, I want to say this was like October, middle of October, I think like it moved very, very quickly that I was like, hey, like recheck. I was like, yes, I would like to do this. And they were like, oh, they were like, oh, yes. You know, what about this Thanksgiving week? And I was like, it's actually perfect because my girls had school off like all that week. And I was like, yes, absolutely. One hundred percent. So they you know, they because there was no show on Thursday or Thanksgiving out of the Friday matinee so that I would get seven shows in the week. But the time between was pretty quick.

[5:33] Travis McElroy: I remember when I definitely had it before going to MCM London because I took like my folder of all the stuff with me to like study on the plane. Oh, goodness. So I wanted. Yeah, I want to say it was like October, like between like around October, like 15th, middle of the month.

[5:56] Diego F. Salinas: Okay.

[5:57] Travis McElroy: And so that's quick. Yeah. From like October. Because like then. Yeah. And then we had what, like three days of rehearsal for.

[6:04] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah.

[6:05] Travis McElroy: I came into it, though. Maybe the most prep I have most prep I've done for a stage role, maybe since college. And I used to do Shakespeare. So that tells you something. But I was talking around your bedroom going the role of a twenty sided dice, the role of a twenty sided dice.

[6:22] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, man.

[6:23] Travis McElroy: Yeah, I read. So while on the plane back from London, I sat with the player's guide and transcribed like most of it to a notebook to memorize what was in it. And then I also sat down at my microphone and read it out loud to myself and like recorded myself like reading it out loud to help get it in my head. Because, one, I knew that I would only have like three days of rehearsal. Two, I didn't want to feel like stunt casting. I wanted to feel like I would have also been cast, you know, like that kind of thing. Like if I had gone through an audition process and like worked through it, I'm someone they would have cast anyways.

[7:09] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah.

[7:10] Travis McElroy: Was like the goal that I had.

[7:11] Diego F. Salinas: You definitely came in like hella prepared. From our side, that's what it felt like.

[7:15] Travis McElroy: Thank you. That's what I was going for. Everybody has come in so far like that, which has been great.

[7:19] Alex Murray: Yeah. But I'm the best, right, Alex?

[7:21] Alex Murray: Yes, you're the best, Travis.

[7:22] Travis McElroy: Thank you. I'll tell you what, you had the purplest hair of anybody who's come in.

[7:26] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, hell yeah.

[7:27] Travis McElroy: I know because it was running down my face when I was wearing the Wonder Hat the first time. Oh my gosh. I had to scrub my face. Purple sweat. Natural. Next question. What's like your favorite, what was your favorite of the three tricksters you got to play?

[7:39] Travis McElroy: Okay, so this is a funny, this is, and I knew this going into it because people kept asking like which one are you most excited to play? And I couldn't nail it down for different reasons. And unfortunately, poor Barry got the real shaft in this because like I did Barry once out of the seven performances and it hurt my back. Because I'm an old man. Because I was doing this like, eh, like hunched over, pulling my hands together thing. Because like, we talked about like Maddie is naturally like a little gremlin. Right? And she's so physical and so like capable of like the high energy bouncing around. She's also like a foot shorter than me. Right? And so she's built to be able to like move around in a comedic, like gracefully comedic way.

[8:28] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah.

[8:29] Travis McElroy: Like a goddamn goblin. Yeah. That's not my build, you know. So I was like hunched over and everything. And when I was done and like stood up straight, I was like, oh my God. It was like the muscles between my spine and shoulder blades were just so angry at me. And so I was like, I don't think I'm doing Barry again. And like it hurt my voice. I do the voice like this the whole time. Like hurt my voice. And I was like, I'm not doing fucking Barry again. And so it's between Wondro and Tamberlain. And the funny thing is, I think playing Wondro is funnier and kind of inherently more fun for me. But doing Tamberlain is easier to like get into character and be in the scene.

[9:12] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah.

[9:13] Travis McElroy: And kind of like interact with that character. Well, there's no layer. There's no second layer. Yeah. Wondro, I could just say things in a big way.

[9:23] Diego F. Salinas: That's a bummer!

[9:25] Travis McElroy: And it's like funny and great. But it wasn't really like grounded or like playing the scene with anybody. And as Tamberlain, I could actually like interact with characters easier and like play bits easier.

[9:38] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah. I like the energy you had with him, too. It was just this kind of like lounge singer type of vibe.

[9:47] Travis McElroy: Unflappable.

[9:50] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah.

[9:51] Travis McElroy: It was a fun energy that I hadn't seen of Tamberlain so far out of like the different incarnations I've seen. The addition of the tie was pretty excellent.

[10:01] Jasmine Malave: Thank you.

[10:02] Travis McElroy: That was such a little thing. Listeners should know that Travis brought his own like bow tie and had the like untucked, untied bow tie hanging around his neck a la Dean Martin at the end of the night. And it took me like a run and a half to notice it. And I was like, that is rad. It was such a little thing. And I was like, I have no idea if this even reads. But like for me, like it was the last thing that always got put on when I was putting the costume on. And it just there's something about having that tie that inherently made me like lean back and start to do like finger guns. There's like just something about it that worked.

[10:39] Travis McElroy: And one of the for me was always funny, but I think only funny to myself is I brought a second pair of glasses that were like bigger, you know, kind of gaudier glasses. And like I wear prescription glasses. So when I was like first doing the costume try on for Tamela and they're like, oh, and the glasses for Tamela will be on stage. I was like, here's the problem. I wear prescription glasses. So if I take off these glasses and put on the prop glasses, I won't be able to see. And I was like, so I brought this other pair of like larger kind of lounge singer glasses. Can I just use those? And they're like, yeah. So then on stage, like when we do the intro before putting on the full costume to turn into Tamerlane, I would go over and take off my purple tinted glasses and put on my rose tinted glasses. And now the transformation is complete.

[11:32] Diego F. Salinas: That's what hold on. I thought they were both purple.

[11:36] Travis McElroy: I just I was like, OK, there's more lavender. It's hard to tell from my side.

[11:41] Jasmine Malave: Well, but for you, though, from your perspective, that's cool. Like an actual perspective shift, because I was like putting on the green glasses for Tamerlane because it's like, bam, filter up like an actual like the whole world changes, which is a really great way to drop into.

[11:56] Travis McElroy: Oh, that's so interesting because I've never played that track. That's what I do every morning, every morning when I switch from like my nighttime untinted glasses so I can see in the dark to like my purple tinted glasses. I'm like, oh, right. This is so much better. This is so much less input. Thank you very much. Glasses.

[12:14] Jasmine Malave: This was your first turn with like a guest star.

[12:19] Travis McElroy: Oh, I know where they were taking my job.

[12:22] Jasmine Malave: So I got to play with you. Yeah. So for the folks listening, all these celebrities coming in, taking our jobs, Felicia Day and Aabria Iyengar, when they were in, they both filled in for Jasmine. And this was like shortly after Jasmine had. I had only done the show for three weeks. So I had barely got my feet steady and I was like, OK, bye.

[12:44] Travis McElroy: So what was it like for you being a part of the like part of the process this time around?

[12:49] Jasmine Malave: So much fun. And also, I don't know why I was like, oh, well, these people are coming in and they're bringing all of these fans. And I thought it would be, I don't know, something like crazy or weird or something. And it was honestly just so fun. I from the very, very beginning, I was like, oh, yeah, Travis has been doing this with us forever.

[13:08] Travis McElroy: Right, yeah, that's what it felt like. Thank you. We had so much fun. I enjoyed it. I also, okay, so I never told you this and I'm gonna do it right now. I am so sorry that Ethel stole so much spotlight rolling so many 20s on your fucking debut. It was great because I don't want the pressure of being good at the game. I want the pressure of like, is this funny? Is this interesting? Right? With the pressure of like playing the game the most. Nervous I ever got was when it any time it was like, I need to decide to think, you know, what I'm gonna do and I would get first in initiative. Yeah, and I was like, oh, like before the big bad or the bag, I'm like, oh no. Oh, and like I always had one good one that I was like, I know this one. Then I need a second option and they would always come out like, or I could stab him. Not the good one. And so like having you there like playing the game well and getting good rolls, I was like, excellent. Thank you.

[14:20] Jasmine Malave: Jasmine has notoriously like low, notoriously poor rolling. That night that was the most crits you've ever had, wouldn't it? The thing that was really is Diego and I were over there like having our own little party because when we did the tech that afternoon, you didn't roll like above an 8. Like no, I had hats. I didn't get a single hat. I was a... Each had like three crits in the tech and you got nothing. I think I even made it like my character's epilogue in tech where I was like, and then I started a party company and everyone got hats.

[14:56] Diego F. Salinas: And it was finally reached what you've like saged and like crystal charged all your dice and your dice tray at this point. It's like everything you can throw at it, but no, just so that every time you roll the crib that night. Yeah, and I were like she was saving them up. Yeah, I know. That was, yeah, for a nat 20s, which will never happen again. I failed again. Oh, I failed to interrupt the apprentice last night. The crowd called for a re-roll and I still failed because I couldn't. Horribly low. It was such a rough... That's there's nothing worse than a long walk to nothing. Yeah, it was the only thing y'all beefed all night. You did a re-roll. I think you rolled a 3 and a 4 and then you did a re-roll, you rolled a 5 and a 6. It's not a royal flush of failure.

[15:56] Travis McElroy: That's me, a failure straight, I believe. I think it was the one you, Diego, you and me and Will did that. I think it was the boys trip, Warren. Oh my god, it was like a 10-year reunion between, yeah, Chester the barbarian. Who were you playing? Tambur Lane? I was tambourine. Yeah, tambourine and in the first fight with the urchins, I went last and like you got to his and like Layton hit real big and all three of the urchins miss. I was like, my turn boys, and then I just beefed it just completely with... I was like, that's a shitty way to end. I'm sorry guys. Sorry everybody, like we were setting up to have like a perfect combat where we all hit, they all miss. I was the D. I pretended to be the Dean and didn't get anything.

[16:48] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, yeah. When the trickster's tough to go last as the trickster for any of them is hard because it's like we want a huge hit and you're like, oh best I could give you is a dagger stab. Yeah, 2d4. I hit a 3. You guys want me to turn invisible and buff everybody at the end of combat? I always all blur together, but Travis, you were on stage when we did the whole thing. Like everyone's watching from the alley, right?

[17:16] Travis McElroy: Yeah, right where the door opened. Was that it? We're open the door with the door that that was the magic, the door.

[17:23] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, oh yeah, yeah. No, that might have been like, God, I can't... Other time. Well, no, it was that way. They were opening, watching from the alley. I can't remember you guys. You guys looted a door and then someone opened the door and saw the audience.

[17:42] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, like what?

[17:44] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, and it got real meta and weird and now I can't remember which one. Honestly, that might have been last night or that might have been like three weeks ago. I cannot because that was great because for the, I think it was the distraction, we trapped Connor, the actor, in the audience for... Yes, yes. Well, we all are like rolling desperately to heal each other. Yes, yes, yes. That's what it was.

[18:06] Travis McElroy: Yeah, banished him to the real world.

[18:10] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, that was insane. Oh, yeah, I guess that was like a... It's not a latent spell.

[18:12] Travis McElroy: Yeah, yeah, banishing. Yeah, and shoved him through our door portal so he was walking around in the audience like, what are you guys doing?

[18:24] Jasmine Malave: I need to learn another track so that I can play with Leighton.

[18:28] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, man, Leighton does not come onto the stage often enough because he's diesel, like he can hit hard and he's a medic. It's like it's a wild track, like healing is nice.

[18:40] Travis McElroy: Well, it's real easy for you to for us to make a party where you look around and go, this is three idiots with that I'm healing. Yeah, that happened with Jasmine and RJ where as the trickster, it's one of my favorite runs that we did because, you know, so I'm the last one off, right? And I come off and like, you know, either Diego and Will or Diego and Jasmine or Josie Archer, you're like, okay, here's what we're thinking, here's what we're gonna do. And I walk off for this one and RJ just goes, okay, so we're both idiots and you're the only smart one and we've invested all of our money into an MLM. Okay, and I was like, okay, shit.

[19:20] Jasmine Malave: Tambor, I was the only confident one in the group. I was like, okay, I love it. Oops, all idiots.

[19:26] Travis McElroy: Like, yeah, I'm trying to remember. It was, I think it was the Saturday where I, as Wondro, like you, Alex, were like, how are you feeling? I said, oh no. Anyway, like what I'm like, there's not a brain between us.

[19:43] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, it was Wondro. You were like, we were all so dumb.

[19:58] Travis McElroy: It played out exactly like I thought it was going to. I think that's the one where you fell in love with the apprentice.

[20:04] Diego F. Salinas: Yes, Diego, I'm like, and then Diego, I want to say, so I'm gonna take turns commenting each year. Diego, your instincts as an improver are so incredible.

[20:16] Jasmine Malave: Thank you.

[20:19] Diego F. Salinas: And you had this moment that I'm still in awe of where you were backstage at intermission like, I don't know, maybe, you know, maybe I'll... Chester will end up going with the apprentice because he's in love with her and I don't know. And you presented it as a choice to the audience.

[20:39] Travis McElroy: Yeah, we're like, it was your final battle thing and you're like, Chester, and you explicitly were like, Chester can either like choose to like stop them or join them.

[20:46] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, but the audience choose which one they wanted for this huge character moment of what was gonna happen and I was like, that's so bold to be like, it's a 50-50 like, yeah, you know, they're going this way or that way, a huge slit in the character and I'll play whichever one the audience wants to see.

[21:11] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, and it was incredible to me.

[21:13] Travis McElroy: That was a very, very fun night. I think it's really fun just like...

[21:17] Diego F. Salinas: Thank you for the compliment.

[21:22] Travis McElroy: It's fun to kind of just see like, I don't know, I'm like, I don't know, like put it up to them and just see what they want to see.

[21:28] Diego F. Salinas: The other thing I'll say that was my favorite working with Diego and I'm proud I want to call me you to do but it's really...

[21:36] Travis McElroy: I think I cut Connor off at one point because I got like the strong like mind wave. I was like, the thing that Diego has just said I think is the setup for a joke and he needs someone to queue up. So Connor started and I went, wait, hold on. I want to see where you're going with this. Tell me more about that. And then you delivered a great punch line and I was like, I hope he has a punch line because that felt like a setup and I'm gonna queue him up. And if he doesn't have a punch line, I'm making him look like an idiot. I hope that's not about to happen. I'm trusting my instinct that he just made eye contact with me.

[22:09] Diego F. Salinas: Well, you said this thing that he has a second half of this thing ready to go.

[22:13] Travis McElroy: I'd know, I'd rather not know, you know.

[22:22] Jasmine Malave: I did that to Connor so many times where Connor would say something like, but that's a story for another time and I'm like, no, I'm very interested now, please tell me more. Do you have any brothers and sisters? Where'd you grow up?

[22:35] Travis McElroy: And now my comment for Jasmine or my favorite things about Jasmine is she will allow herself to be talked over but not silenced. We're like she'll start a joke, someone else will start talking louder, she'll let them finish and then say her joke anyways. If I wrote a joke in my head, I'm gonna finish it because like the look on your face was so like, my turn, and then you would just...

[23:02] Jasmine Malave: So funny every time.

[23:06] Travis McElroy: And I also knew right away like the first time we did, I think even as a rehearsal run where it's like if I say something funny and no one reacts or if someone says something that we could giggle at or if Jasmine says something funny and no one reacts, I can look at Jasmine and she will look at me and she'll quietly acknowledge to me what just happened.

[23:26] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, so I was like, I thought that was good.

[23:30] Travis McElroy: I heard like every single time and like we would sit on the bench like we ended up on the bench together a lot because, you know, we're side-by-side at the end. She's in the middle and there was a lot of like, I thought that was good. I really liked how that went. I like what they did and there was a lot of like just us quietly complimenting each other and what was happening on stage.

[23:49] Jasmine Malave: Oh, I don't think you ever saw this because you were in the middle of your onboarding.

[23:53] Travis McElroy: And so you do your thing where you're like, I want to hear your battle cry. Ah!

[24:10] Jasmine Malave: And every single night you did that, Travis would go...

[24:15] Travis McElroy: And I would laugh at it every time. I would literally look at it, Travis, every single night and go, every time, my guy, and laugh. I was just doing it for Jasmine at that point. I didn't think no one in the audience is watching me at that point. You're in the middle of the stage yelling. By the first time I did it and Jasmine loved like, oh, crying. And so I did it every time just for Jasmine.

[24:28] Diego F. Salinas: I will laugh every time at a stupid joke.

[24:31] Travis McElroy: Are you aware, Jasmine, that every time you do your onboarding thing when you're like, give me a number between one and ten, that stop quietly goes a number between one and ten? Like he says a number between one and ten.

[24:44] Jasmine Malave: It cracks me up every single time.

[24:46] Travis McElroy: Best moments of the show are those things we whisper to each other.

[24:54] Diego F. Salinas: Oh god, in the margins, my favorite.

[24:57] Travis McElroy: And my the thing that I think I laughed hardest out... I'm trying to remember now, there was a couple. One when we were encouraging you to stop a wedding.

[25:03] Jasmine Malave: Oh yeah, we were downstage right talking to each other and Alex was DMing.

[25:09] Travis McElroy: Yeah, and we're downstage right talking Chester and love. Yeah, and Jasmine's business said like, you have to...

[25:17] Jasmine Malave: You have to speak now.

[25:23] Travis McElroy: And I just whisper like, or forever hold your piss. And the three of us...

[25:27] Jasmine Malave: It's all stopped and looked at each other.

[25:38] Travis McElroy: And then realized Alex had stopped talking.

[25:44] Diego F. Salinas: We were in just a huddle and I had like, it was one of the moves where I have to like sprint back to the behind the DM screen. I was like...

[25:47] Travis McElroy: It goes right there and I was like, what? I think I audibly went, what are you doing?

[25:56] Jasmine Malave: We were just in a little triangle just like looking at each other.

[26:01] Travis McElroy: Silence was, oh, it was, it was like two American seconds. It was solidly like quiet on the other one was when I think it was when you were doing Chester and we were talking to most.

[26:16] Travis McElroy: Sunday matinee. We're doing the boys trip. And we get to the, sorry, what was the wizard's name? And up to this point, we've kind of been walking back and forth between like, we're three college buddies, and we rent a frat together. And we're kind of bullying people in like a hazy kind of way. And I go, Oh, what was the wizard's name? Connor goes for the wizard's name. So I went in the audience gives him Theocles. And I it's not even a salad joke said Theocles nuts. And I wasn't even thinking I said it because I'm a child. And we all start laughing. And then Connor launches into his normal like we were so close. And he was like, Yes, we loved making these nuts jokes together. And we would make and at first it started as just fun.

And soon we couldn't stop me. And Diego is laughing so hard. He had pulled his Chester hoodie up over his face, and was just waving his hands. Thank you. And Connor stopped and goes, Are you laughing because what I'm saying or because you know where I have to get to in this speech, and you just nodded. And then he just kept going. And Connor turned the whole thing into like, instead of the council stripped my titles, he said the student council revoked my diplomas. And like all of this stuff about it being in college. It was so good. But just watching Diego laugh so hard. He could not speak or look at Connor or anything had to hide in his shirt was so good. And then we just kept making jokes. D&D animal house. It was so good. That's the audience is so on your side at that point, right? What they're laughing that hard. You're laughing that hard too like, Yes, we're all having fun together.

[29:03] Travis McElroy: Now here's my compliment for Alex. Oh, the first show I saw when I was there Sunday night, the first night I was there, you guys got the good in day. And you delivered the end monologue in such a way that like moved me emotionally, like you were so in it. You were so doing it. And then also, there were moments where we'd be doing a bit as like the three of us, and then rope you in as an NPC. And it got to a point where even I in my head was thinking, I think he's letting this go on too long. Oh, yeah. He's enjoying this bit too much. And hasn't cut us off yet. I was there was I think was the second show Saturday, I was talking to somebody and I was like, that was a podcast. We just did a podcast.

It was like every single NPC we got into like a dumb fuck wordplay bit. And I was like, I was just having so much fun doing like a show. I think what? Yeah. No, they didn't. They didn't. They didn't know. But that was one of my favorite jokes that Jasmine did. That was so good. We didn't get it till intermission. I think it was the cheese show. We didn't get it till intermission cheese show where you were playing the assistant was named Ragna. It was getting married. And Jasmine said, Ragna, let me see that rock. And you just like held your hand out to show the ring. And then I was like, I got my joke in only stuff. Yeah. And then I said you like always ragging on the thing you do like Ragnarok.

And Sam was like, Yeah, Jasmine did that. And we all went. Oh, started laughing. And it was like a 30 minute slow burn joke. It was so good. It was delivered so naturally. That was like an assassin level joke, dude.

[30:45] Jasmine Malave: Thank you. I'm just trying to write jokes like 30 rock style in my head all the time.

[30:48] Travis McElroy: You have to listen. Just fast. Yeah. Well, that's so good. That's the 30 rock, right? The joke of what you want is the joke a minute. So those are my favorites is like, one that goes flies under the radar for people in the audience die. And then everybody else like three minutes later is like what? The killer thing that makes me so mad as someone who records every second of my life to publish it is that there is no replay on means. Yeah, right. Because I guarantee with the density of jokes, like, this is the thing, right? Because I remember going into it. And Teresa was asking me, like, do they like record it and put it out like you guys do? And I was like, Well, I don't really think they could.

Because like the plot structure is basically the same. And then doing it. I was like, you absolutely could. You absolutely could. Because one of the things and this isn't just a plug for repeat viewing of the show, but I will make it one for everybody listening, if you've already seen the show, go back, because there is a, there's like several levels of comedy and entertainment to the show. But one of the levels that I got from doing it seven times, I mean, eight or nine, if you count the tech runs, is the comedy in subverting the structure of the thing. Right? Where it's like, well, last night, one like the, the assistants, like apprentices motivation was this, and it fit in with this thing.

But I've completely changed that. And now I've made them want to do it because of this thing that you said in Act One. And that and it's like, well, that was brilliant. Like, I appreciate that, as someone working with the DM, and it's like, okay, cool. I don't know that someone would pick that up on their first watch the level of craft that's going on there. But then there's also moments where someone would say, like, and we need to move on to this scene, because we're already at like an hour and 15 minutes. I was like, and that's great. If you've like seen the show a bunch, and you're seeing it get like juggled around, and you're seeing the pieces move. And like, we did one in the boy show where like, we pulled Cassidy as the tavern keeper in as an NPC.

Yeah. But she then only had lines, like on four occasions throughout the entire show and like died at the end. And like, which is such a weird thing for the tavern. Like literally, I think Layton brought her spirit back to attack the bad guy. And so she as the tavern keeper as an NPC, a ghost of them had to then attack and it's like, what a weird thing for us to do in this run of the show.

[33:29] Diego F. Salinas: Well, and that's also what you're talking about, like the repeat viewing in the combos, right? That's like the will champion effect is like that dude plays horror, hard horror actual play. And when he does this, like a deep, hard horror sci fi, he's always thinking about blood and reanimating and evil. And you do that in the middle of this dumb fuck boner deez nuts show. Yeah. And it becomes insane. Yeah. God, so much fun.

[33:56] Travis McElroy: I always say like, I think it takes like, at least two viewings of the show to like, like get it. Like the first time you watch it, like, I think there's an appreciation. But then like the second time, especially, like you said, like noticing all the things that can go different, all the threads that get pulled in different ways. Even, you know, all the different paths that go like, I think that's where you really understand like, oh, this really can be pretty much anything. A great example is like the first fight, you know, depending on how it goes with distracting the wizard is street urchins or shadow thieves, right? Yeah. But their interaction with the characters, their motivation for why they're doing it.

Do they know the characters previously? How does it play out? And then how does that reflect in the epilogue? Like all of those things are different every time. And even though it's the exact same combat, you know, technically on paper, you know, they corner you in the alley, there's exchanged attacks, and it ends one way or the other. It is absolutely fresh and different every time.

[35:05] Diego F. Salinas: The relationships change every time depending on whatever weirdness we decide to latch on to or whatever we feel like the audience is excited about.

[35:12] Travis McElroy: Yeah, that was the thing, man, with Ragna and the wedding stuff was somebody who gave a name, I think it was gave the name Ragna, it was their bachelor party. Yeah. And I did say it was one of the only mean things that I said, like, I tried so hard to stay away from my impulse, like be snarky. And they said, like, it's my bachelor party. And I was like, and you're spending it here. I felt so bad. But they laughed and they had a great time. And then it became that Ragna was getting married, right? Completely off of that, but then informed like the whole arc of The Apprentice. Of getting married to himself. I think he was like, he was like marrying the concept of being evil.

[36:57] Jasmine Malave: And it was so someone asked during the talkback, like, how does the energy of the audience impact like the game? And the thing is, is this like, one for one, you know what I mean? It's like, how does, like, what's the difference between looking at this poster in white light versus black light? You know what I mean? Of like, it's the same picture. But it's like, depending on the reflection you're getting from them, right of like, a million little inputs and big inputs, and like, getting the track, even just getting the names from them will start to inform like, oh, okay, like, there's a running joke now that everybody has a fairly simple name or that these names rhyme with each other or whatever.

[37:45] Travis McElroy: We've been in a basic white dude named Wasteland. Please, as a PSA, if you're coming to see the show, please, please tee up something that's not just Bill. There was there I think it was like my first Friday show maybe where we got a taco from TV. And then and I was like, okay, it's a reference to my thing. That's great. And then everybody after that kept throwing out other I think chili con carne was like the evil wizard. So everybody just kept throwing out like Mexican food dishes. And it was like, this is great. Now it's become that's like, thank you for telling us exactly what kind of show you would like to see. I appreciate that.

[38:25] Diego F. Salinas: The more the audience talks, the more stuff we have to play with. It's beautiful.

[38:31] Jasmine Malave: I also liked and I am very proud of this campaigning to get persuasion.

[38:36] Travis McElroy: Persuasion took you three nights.

[38:41] Jasmine Malave: Three nights. One of the first decisions you make at this show is persuasion or deception. And I've seen persuasion get picked now. Twice, I think twice. I've been on stage for both of them. Yeah. And the first one we literally did not know what to do. We were like, uh, I was like, let me click this button. I don't think I've ever seen this text before. All right, cool. And so I took that as a personal challenge. And I walked through the audience before the show going, hey, there's in the first one, it's never persuasion. But what if tonight it was follow your hearts. And it's still like the night before it lost by the thinnest margin. And like then on this one, I barely won. Yeah. And that's when I realized this Tamburlaine, I'm not good at persuasion. I'm great at deception. And I was like, Oh, no, you're plus 10 goes away.

[39:30] Diego F. Salinas: It's crazy, too, because I was trying to help campaign and I would go up to audience members and be like, this is what we're trying to do tonight. Do persuasion, you could be the special audience, you could see a special show. And people literally had Dyson's and shit. And the amount of people were like, roll for persuasion, roll right now. If you roll high enough, I'll do it. And I was like, really?

[39:24] Travis McElroy: The thing that I think I really brought to the table and I hope carries on after me is cheating at the audience games as the Trickster. And what was great is every time I did it, Stomp would then give me disadvantage on the like mind warp roll afterwards. I was like, fair play, dude. Yeah, man. But the number of times that like people are, you know, throwing balls for like the beer pong game and I just grab a bunch of balls and dump them in. And I'm like, I don't trickster. And like, beer pong almost never happens. It's like nearly impossible. I have run into the audience before and just been like, listen, listen, everybody puts your hands down. I need someone who can play beer pong. And it's always one dude who looks like me like going, yeah, yeah, I'll come.

I'll go. It's a get up here, Tyler. And then Tyler just like drain six balls. Yeah. So you get it on the bounce and you gotta drink two of them. You gotta drink two. Ricochets it off the video wall. Swatting away the other ones, you know? No, I love that so much. Thank you for cheating on that moment. It was hilarious every time. I'm a twigster. Cheating and charming. That's what the Tricksters are about. Yeah, little stinker energy.

[40:42] Travis McElroy: I liked it. But also for whatever reason, I could never remember to grab pieces of paper and pencil on my way out for the crowd. So I'm just like watching Jasmine and Diego run around handing out paper like, hey, write down nouns and adjectives. And I'm like, welcome to my house. How's it going, everybody? Thanks for coming. Love to see you. You're all great. You fill out those papers. Diego's going around handing out. I'll get them next time. All right.

[41:05] Jasmine Malave: So funny. That was better that way.

[41:07] Travis McElroy: You had such a chill fanbase, too. Like when Felicia and Aabria were...

[41:15] Jasmine Malave: Aabria didn't even try. This was the question I was going to ask you a minute ago. Aabria just sat at the front of the stage and just let people queue up like she was at a convention. Like, yeah, it was great.

[41:27] Travis McElroy: Well, she's more popular than me. I think is what you guys are saying. That's what I'm getting is that people liked her better. And that's okay. That's fine. You know, it's her time now. And I don't know. Basically, we're tired is what I'm hearing.

[41:43] Jasmine Malave: I might have been the opposite, dude. I watched people go like... I was like talking to people and then they'd see you and they would like stop breathing. And they'd be like, go say hi. And they would be like, oh, I can't do it.

[41:57] Travis McElroy: So I've done conventions and meet and greets. I mean, there was a time when we were doing live shows where we would then just like post up in the lobby after the show. I'm like, we're here until everybody wants to meet us is gone. And we don't do that anymore because one, we're old and two, we have kids and three, we're old.

[42:19] Jasmine Malave: But I try to like just kind of keep moving and engage in like groups and talk to people. But I'm pretty available as things go like between doing Twitch streams, going to conventions, you know, just like talking to people who I run into on the street.

[42:40] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah.

[43:11] Travis McElroy: Because they want to talk to me because there have been a couple times where I'm like, hi, did you want like a picture? And they're like, what? No. Who are you? Oh, no. Sorry. Oh, God.

[43:22] Jasmine Malave: I have to move to a different city.

[43:24] Travis McElroy: I think that my skin would melt off.

[43:27] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, man.

[43:28] Travis McElroy: That sounds terrifying. That's my biggest fear. One of the weirdest. I remember I was at New York Comic Con. And this was like twenty eighteen, I think. And I had like 40 minutes between things I was doing. So I like posted a picture of me like where I was on the floor and like, hey, anyone who wants to come say hi? I'll be hanging out here for like 30 minutes. And then this person who looked like they were dressed as taco kind of comes near and is like looking at me. And I was like, okay. And they're like looking at me. And then they were like, Justin? And that's my brother's name. And I said, oh, no, Travis. And they went, oh, okay. And I was like, from Adventure Zone. And then they said, what is Adventure Zone? What? And I said, did you? What? And they were like, okay. And they left. And I was like, what just happened?

[44:24] Jasmine Malave: That's so confusing.

[44:46] Travis McElroy: I'd rather that's fine. I'd rather a mystery than...

[44:49] Diego F. Salinas: That's how you end up being remembered. That's how you stand out.

[44:52] Travis McElroy: Yeah, look at me now. You're still talking about them spiraling every night. What happened? Who were they? What life are they leading now?

[44:59] Diego F. Salinas: Where are they?

[45:01] Travis McElroy: Where are they? Are they still in your mind?

[45:04] Jasmine Malave: My favorite interaction, my favorite crowd is I was actually at Macy's with my daughters. And this dude came up, he was so respectful. It's so cool. And like, I really love the show. And I was just wondering if we get a picture. I said, yeah, absolutely. And like, I screwed the girls out of the picture frame. We took the picture and he was so excited. He was so nice. And he left. And then BB, who at the time I think was like six or seven goes, well, that's nice. He likes your show. That must feel good. Does that feel good?

[45:30] Travis McElroy: I was like, it does, baby. Thank you. Sounded like my mom or sound like. And then like for the next like six months, anytime we'd go to the mall, she'd be like, and maybe we'll meet someone else who likes your show. That'd be good.

[45:44] Diego F. Salinas: Adorable.

[45:45] Travis McElroy: And I was like, what are you seeing in me that thinks I need this energy? Thank you so much. I do. You're right.

[45:51] Jasmine Malave: She's watching you struggle in your day to day.

[45:53] Travis McElroy: I know.

[45:54] Jasmine Malave: She knows that you can't cut the dang crust off the sandwich, right? She knows you need this.

[45:58] Travis McElroy: I would never. It's good for you, Alex.

[46:00] Diego F. Salinas: As far as where all the vitamins are.

[46:02] Travis McElroy: The internet tells me.

[46:03] Jasmine Malave: That's what my mom told me.

[46:05] Travis McElroy: That the crust is where all the vitamins are?

[46:07] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, that's how I was like, my friends are getting the crust cut off. I was like, I want the crust cut off of my PB and J. And she was like, no, no, no.

[46:15] Travis McElroy: No, that's the charm.

[46:16] Jasmine Malave: That's where all the vitamins are.

[46:17] Travis McElroy: That's where all the flavor is. You know what I mean?

[46:19] Diego F. Salinas: You gotta get your daily account of carbon. Here you go.

[46:24] Travis McElroy: There you go.

[46:25] Diego F. Salinas: This is where we find out that Murray's mom just made his sandwiches with the two end pieces of the loaf.

[46:30] Travis McElroy: All the butts.

[46:31] Diego F. Salinas: Just heels, nothing but heels. Feed the rest to her favorite sons.

[46:36] Travis McElroy: I think you could do a great sketch where a kid is getting the crust cut off their sandwiches constantly. And then finally they walk in and they're like, I think I'm ready to eat the crust. And then their mom is just scarfing down all the crust, getting bigger and stronger.

[46:52] Jasmine Malave: And like mufflier.

[46:53] Travis McElroy: And it's like, mom, what happened?

[46:55] Diego F. Salinas: No.

[46:56] Travis McElroy: Is it like a grotto under the house, like housing?

[46:59] Jasmine Malave: Yeah.

[47:00] Travis McElroy: Yeah, you finally, the camera pans over and you finally see the like, the mom's queen bee other half of her body.

[47:06] Diego F. Salinas: I am unstoppable.

[47:10] Travis McElroy: Oh man. Well, I mean, thanks so much for hanging out for debriefing. Can I comment on the other people too? I think RJ's great, Will's great.

[47:22] Jasmine Malave: Will was great.

[47:23] Travis McElroy: Will has instant, like, I'm your friend energy. Like there's something about Will where it's like the first time you talk to him, you're like, this guy would fight a bully for me.

[47:35] Diego F. Salinas: I gave him power of attorney the first time meeting him.

[47:38] Travis McElroy: I mean, honestly, like instantly I was like, I think this man would die for me. I love Will Jambia. RJ, RJ did this thing where it was very meta. He was playing Chester when he was talking about like, that his brain was so clear. This was in the one where I ended up being a babysitter for Zvezda and Chester as Tamberling. And he was talking about his brain being so empty and clear that he could see through dimensions.

[48:10] Diego F. Salinas: At one point.

[48:11] Travis McElroy: He could see other realities. At one point he rolled. He attacked Connor, the actor and had Connor basically, he stepped through the fourth wall as Chester and told Connor that when he turned back into the big bad to punch himself in the balls three times and convince him to do it and then step back through. And then Connor snapped back in and punched himself, the bad guy in the balls three times.

[48:44] Diego F. Salinas: Oh my God.

[48:45] Travis McElroy: That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. It was the wildest thing I've ever seen. And it was completely grounded and made complete sense in the arc of his character. It was absolutely wild. This is the shit Diego was talking about. Like, you really need to see the show more than once. You really need to understand that that's not normal.

[49:06] Diego F. Salinas: God, here's what I'll say about Connor. Unflappable. Like, he's incredible. I would throw random jokes, random shit. Like it's the, I think I felt a similar vibe with him as the DM that I do with Griffin where it's like, oh, you threw that thing out. And that was just supposed to be like random, like filler text for the big thing. And I'm going to hammer home the filler text you just mentioned and make you do a side monologue about that.

[49:34] Travis McElroy: Oh shit, you're killing it. You're really good about this. Stomp is some of the most lovely supportive energy of just like anything you need, anytime. Like the number of times that I would look at Stomp, especially if someone said anything that could be construed as an innuendo or dirty joke. You can like look at Stomp and Stomp was like giving me side eye every time and I give him side eye back. And it was not even a joke for the audience. Once again, just he and I acknowledging like neither one of us is going to say something right now, but we could. We could say something right now. We both heard it.

[50:10] Diego F. Salinas: Chaos in a bottle, her bloodlust for the characters.

[50:15] Travis McElroy: Every time it would get to the like chase and she would take over as DM. I was delightfully terrified because I knew how bad she wanted it. Especially if somebody had like 10 or less hit points left where I was like we might die and Cas will be thrilled. Cas will be overjoyed. I would love to announce to you so you'd be happy to know that she DMed the matinee yesterday and she got her TPK. We all died.

[50:44] Diego F. Salinas: Get out of town.

[50:47] Travis McElroy: Glorious. Yeah, she finally got her TPK. Tell them what the lair fucking action was.

[50:53] Jasmine Malave: The lair action?

[50:54] Travis McElroy: How she did it.

[50:55] Jasmine Malave: I don't even remember what the lair action was.

[50:57] Travis McElroy: I do know that it was a 5d10 and we only had like 12 hit points each. It was absolutely bonkers.

[51:02] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, it was an insect cloud.

[51:06] Travis McElroy: Everybody was down to like below 15 hit points and she just went it's 5d10 damage. It was like well that's just executing people. We were like okay.

[51:14] Diego F. Salinas: Amazing.

[51:19] Travis McElroy: She was just like before anybody can attack you're all fucking dead.

[51:23] Diego F. Salinas: Amazing.

[51:24] Travis McElroy: Casita's like a shark. She can smell blood in the water. I also since I don't know this for sure but when she was doing Tavern Keeper I think there were numerous times where she would get caught up in watching the other four actors like in the scene and then it would be time for her to do something and you would see her like shake her head a little bit to be like oh thank you. She was just having such a great time watching what was happening and then remember oh I have to hit a button.

[51:51] Diego F. Salinas: Yep.

[51:52] Travis McElroy: It's very easy to do back there. You're just in the middle of a scene. Especially you're in the middle of it, right? You're just sitting there. There's like four people around you having a deez nuts off and you're just like cool. All right, my job.

[52:05] Diego F. Salinas: I want to jump back to Will real quick because one of my favorite things about the boys trip deez nuts thing was like Diego made the choice like Chester has taken like a gap decade, hasn't done anything with his life for the last 10 years. And like Will and I end up having all these little like side whispered conversations about we need to do something. We need to have it and like they weren't for laughs. They weren't bit like we were having sincerely I'm worried about our family.

[52:32] Travis McElroy: The Twenty Sided Tavern & Broadway Podcast Network Network.

[55:20] Travis McElroy: Over me, of like no you guys screwed over here. No, you're supposed to be here. Like she just kind of like let me go while still being engaged. It wasn't her like I don't want to do the like she was so engaged in it but like didn't over explain things to me, didn't make me feel like I didn't know what I was doing.

[55:43] Travis McElroy: So supportive and like sitting super engaged in every rehearsal and like the only thing that I regret about the time is that me being there means Maddie is not. Well, you got to come back, that's what I'm saying. It kind of to come back as a warrior and get to play with Maddie would be an absolute delight. Like so at the end you guys like present to me with like a signed photo to take home and I was like is there any way you could ship this to me and wait until Maddie's back so she can sign it too? Because like Maddie is, I love Maddie so much and like I talked with her before we even, but like three weeks before I got there.

[56:21] Travis McElroy: And basically like I was like I have so many questions. Then we got in the car and I think it became quickly apparent to both of us that I didn't really have questions, I was just nervous. And so she instantly shifted gears into like reassuring everybody's got your back, like we're so excited for you to be here, like you do not, there is no messing up. Like everything I needed to hear to do it.

[56:45] Travis McElroy: And I like just set me off on the right foot and was just about everybody was honest to God to the person cast and crew, everybody like how staff, everybody there was not a one of y'all that like I shut up and I was like but I don't like them, right? Every single person it was like I had known you guys for like 20 years, right? Like I instantly felt a part of the family and like not just on stage but like one of my favorite moments was like going to the diner to eat with Diego and RJ and Alex and just like sitting there telling stories and telling theater stories and just being theater kids, man.

[57:29] Travis McElroy: Yeah, right? And like that kind of thing is like when I, so when I graduated from college, I got my degree in theater and but so to be modeling a little bit the summer of my junior year, my mom passed away. And so then I went back to school for my senior year and I was just like grieving in a way I didn't know I was like detached in a way I didn't know I was. And so I was like doing it right and got my degree but I was like I don't like what am I going to do with this? Who cares? So I graduated and moved back home and like worked at Best Buy for like three years.

[57:57] Travis McElroy: I said that with such disdain and I meant it. And then in the middle of that third year I went and visited my friend in Cincinnati and she was working with the Spanish Shakespeare Company and I like within 12 hours of being there was like I need to quit Best Buy and move to Cincinnati and work here because I liked the group of people. Like the group of people instantly made me feel welcome and reminded me like the thing I miss most about being in the business is the people.

[58:25] Travis McElroy: The thing I miss most about theater isn't like the acting part, it's like being with the fun of it and like having this family of people that you work with, this ensemble of people and like that was the feeling I felt like with you guys instantly. From like the first rehearsal you guys came in and instantly were like hey how's it going, what not, like treating me like a guest and not treating me like a stranger but instantly like clicking and connecting and like being family. It was amazing.

[59:11] Travis McElroy: That's me, you're in it now man. Yeah, I'm glad you're saying we don't want stunt casting, we want more, a bigger family, we just want a bigger, more people to play.

[59:23] Diego F. Salinas: At this point Aabria has talked about like wanting to come back and try DMing, right? Aabria comes back as DM, Felicia as a mage, Erica as a warrior, me as trickster.

[59:25] Diego F. Salinas: What row?

[59:27] Travis McElroy: What row is all of us?

[59:29] Travis McElroy: Everybody gets a break.

[59:29] Diego F. Salinas: Stomp and maybe Cass and Alex but everybody else gets a break.

[59:33] Travis McElroy: We'll go take a big old road trip.

[59:37] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, we're just gonna like rent a giant villa somewhere on a beach.

[59:41] Travis McElroy: You guys accidentally just start dropping into character like no, no we can't.

[59:45] Diego F. Salinas: This weekend we weren't gonna be funny.

[59:47] Travis McElroy: This is just about us, not about the kids.

[59:49] Diego F. Salinas: Stop telling jokes.

[59:51] Travis McElroy: We're just relaxing.

[59:53] Diego F. Salinas: Hello, do you like eggs for breakfast?

[59:55] Travis McElroy: Yes, eggs sound delicious and normal. Thank you.

[59:59] Diego F. Salinas: This afternoon let us go to the beach and sit and read quietly.

[1:00:03] Travis McElroy: Indeed.

[1:00:05] Diego F. Salinas: No, it wouldn't happen.

[1:00:07] Travis McElroy: No, it would be madness.

[1:00:09] Diego F. Salinas: Oh my gosh, well this has been a lovely chat. We cannot wait for you to come back.

[1:00:11] Travis McElroy: Hey you too guys.

[1:00:15] Diego F. Salinas: Yeah, it was so much fun.

[1:00:17] Travis McElroy: Maybe some more goofy streaming nonsense in the works.

[1:00:19] Diego F. Salinas: I'd love to do it.

[1:00:21] Travis McElroy: With Travis and TST.

[1:00:23] Diego F. Salinas: That is to be looked forward to.

[1:00:25] Travis McElroy: Yes, got it.

[1:00:27] Diego F. Salinas: Nailed it.

[1:00:29] Travis McElroy: That's the sentence.

[1:00:31] Diego F. Salinas: TBFT.

[1:00:33] Travis McElroy: That's the future imperfect acronym.

[1:00:37] Diego F. Salinas: You will have been looking forward to it.

[1:00:39] Travis McElroy: Yes, by the time you are looking forward to it.

[1:00:41] Diego F. Salinas: By the time you're watching it you'll realize that you were always have been looking forward back to it.

[1:00:45] Travis McElroy: Always wanted it.

[1:00:49] Diego F. Salinas: Yep.

[1:00:51] Travis McElroy: W-A-H-F-T-B-L-T-I.

[1:00:53] Diego F. Salinas: Fuck yeah.

[1:00:55] Travis McElroy: Uh well, Travis do you wanna plug anything? You got anything cool coming up?

[1:00:59] Travis McElroy: Uh when's this coming out?

[1:01:01] Diego F. Salinas: Wednesday.

[1:01:03] Travis McElroy: Oh perfect. Okay listen everybody. Candle Nights is coming up this Friday I believe, December 14th. That's this Friday.

[1:01:15] Travis McElroy: So every year me and my brothers and the whole macro family and macro staff and everybody put together a full blown holiday special. I think this year it's like an hour and 45 and like we do segments. We get special cameos from guests, all kinds of stuff in there.

[1:01:37] Travis McElroy: And tickets are $5 and 100% of the proceeds go to Harmony House in our hometown of West Virginia, which is working to end homelessness and to help those experiencing homelessness in our hometown. And everybody comes out every year and supports them. Like I said, tickets are $5 but you can do more if you feel inclined.

[1:01:59] Travis McElroy: Tickets are at bit.ly slash Candle Nights. Candle Nights tickets 2024. Bit.ly slash Candle Nights tickets 2024. And it's a super, it's a good year. It's a good year of bits and it's maybe the hardest I've worked on my segment ever. And I've worked hard on my segment before.

[1:02:21] Travis McElroy: But this year includes like a karaoke video that I made and subtitled from scratch. And like I edited my video. Travis is in his room again working hard on his segment. Oh my god, can I tell you? I know you're making a masturbation joke Alex and I appreciate that. But also I had no idea how hard it is to get the timing of karaoke like reading across how to get that right. It was so laborious. And like I shortcutted it the first time.

[1:02:49] Travis McElroy: I just had all the words on it once and went and my wife was like, it doesn't match up. I was like, oh it doesn't have to, it's funny. And then like the next five people I showed were like, yeah but it doesn't match up. I was like, uh. And then I had to spend like five hours editing it. But anyways, it's super good. It's for a good cause. Tickets are available now and then it will, you'll watch the pre-made thing but we air it live for the first time so everybody can watch it together the first time and like be in the chat together and talk about it. And then it will be available video on demand until January 4th. It goes to a really great cause in our hometown. So bit.ly slash CandlenightsTickets2024.

[1:03:35] Diego F. Salinas: Amazing. And then from us, Diego, where can the people follow you?

[1:03:41] Diego F. Salinas: I am on Instagram at Diego underscore F underscore Salinas. I also just joined Blue Sky Alien. So come check me out over there. It seems like that's where all the kids are hanging out.

[1:03:55] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, it's where we're trying to go for sure. Yeah. Jasmine?

[1:03:59] Jasmine Malave: Yeah, all my handles are Jazzylovesdrama and mostly though I'm just on Instagram.

[1:04:05] Travis McElroy: Hell yeah, I'm at ralexmurray all over the internet. The show is at 20 Sided Tavern all over the internet. Also, come see the show. Come hang out. Erica is with us right now. We got more guests. We got more nonsense. We got maybe new campaigns in the new year. All sorts of fun stuff coming up. We're over on 42nd Street at the Lul Schubert hanging out and having a good time. And then everybody just DM them, comment on everything, messages on everything. You gotta put like, yeah, this is great, but when is Travis coming back? And you can put that on every...

[1:05:01] Diego F. Salinas: We need to do a grassroots campaign for this, y'all.

[1:05:03] Travis McElroy: Do it. We love it. That's the best way. Tell us what you want.

[1:05:05] Diego F. Salinas: Completely unnecessary. Like, I've already talked with everybody and they were like, we'd love to have you back. When you come back. So you don't need to do it. But I like the idea of having a completely unnecessary grassroots campaign.

[1:05:13] Travis McElroy: Yes.

[1:05:15] Diego F. Salinas: We're going to be doing a focus show that everyone loves. Yes.

[1:05:17] Travis McElroy: Amazing. Audience participation always at all things. We love it. And until we see you next, ale?

[1:05:25] All: And well met.
