Now the Broadway Podcast Network is bringing back these shows. This is the second of a three-part tribute to legendary composer Arthur Schwartz. Schwartz was perhaps best known for the memorable songs he wrote with noted lyricist Howard Dietz, like "Dancing in the Dark," "By Myself," and "That's Entertainment." This tribute originally aired in 1984, less than a week after Schwartz's death. Everything that happens in life can happen in a show. You can make them laugh, you can make them cry. They collaborated on two Broadway musicals in the early 60s, The Gay Life and Jenny. Back to Bandwagon, which of course was a show in the 30s and then became a movie in '53, and there's always some confusion about that, but the Bandwagon film was a compilation film, one of those MGM specials, where they took all the great songs of Schwartz and Dietz and put them together into a film. You heard "That's Entertainment" from that film soundtrack, featuring Fred Astaire, Nanette Fabray, Jack Buchanan, and India Adams, and here is the fun "Triplets," featuring Fred Astaire, Nanette Fabray, and Jack Buchanan.

[16:50] Paul Lazarus: If I ever seen a prince, my Harry was him. Always smelled from peppermints, his person was trim.

[17:06] Paul Lazarus: His voice was passionate, so full his face was. He never took no liberties. He knew what his place was.

[17:27] Paul Lazarus: He'd say, pour on my glove politely when he shook my hand. And he'd pass me the evening paper when his suit was thin. He only used four letter words I didn't understand.

[17:47] Paul Lazarus: He had refinements. He'd never sit down to eat without his shirt was on. Or come out of the bathroom dripping like a dying swan. Or call a visitor a slob until the slob was gone.

[18:10] Paul Lazarus: He had refinements. One time he said, may I suggest you call a lady's chest a chest instead of a point of interest? Dainty, ain't he?

[18:28] Paul Lazarus: He was shy and awful modest, cause he was so high bred. When the wind blew up my bloomers, would his face get red? He undressed with all the lights off until we was wet.

[18:44] Paul Lazarus: He had refinements. He would walk next to the gutter, so I shouldn't get hit. With a pillar he'd kill mosquitoes, so I shouldn't get bit.

[19:03] Paul Lazarus: Only certain kinds exertion for me he'd permit. He had refinements. In the water at Coney Island was our first embrace. When my water wings flew off and hit him in the face, he introduced himself before he put them back in place.

[19:34] Paul Lazarus: He had refinements. At Luna Park all night we sat. Our food got cold, our beer got flat. I saw what he was driving at. I should have forbid it, but I didn't.

[19:55] Paul Lazarus: He had respect and feelin' all our married life. Just the thought that maybe he'd hurt me cut him like a knife. So he never mentioned that he had another wife.
