[0:00] Paul Lazarus: Hi, this is Paul Lazarus. In the 1980s, I produced and hosted a radio series called Anything Goes, a celebration of the American musical theater. Now, the Broadway Podcast Network is bringing back these shows. This is the conclusion of a three-part tribute to legendary composer Arthur Schwartz. Schwartz was perhaps best known for the memorable songs he wrote with noted lyricist Howard Dietz, like "Dancing in the Dark," "By Myself," and "That's Entertainment." This tribute originally aired in 1984, less than a week after Schwartz's death. A Wally Harper arrangement of a Schwartz-Dietz classic, "Dancing in the Dark," also featuring the magnificent voice of Barbara Cook. And you're listening to Anything Goes with a tribute to composer Arthur Schwartz, who passed away last Monday, and who leaves us with a world of music that we're kind of coursing through today here in Anything Goes.

And then from *Bandwagon*, the 1931 version, that was Clifford Mollinson and Gene Collin recording in 1930 singing a song called "High and Low." You're listening to a tribute to Arthur Schwartz. I'm your host, Paul Lazarus. Here's a rather atypical song by Schwartz and Dietz called "Smoke and Leafers."

[23:39] Paul Lazarus: Hope you've enjoyed this tribute to Arthur Schwartz, who, if you've just joined us and are not aware of yet, passed away last Monday at age 83, but left us with a wealth of song and will live on, obviously, through his music forever. One last Schwartz Dietz song to go out with, one of my favorites, and performed by Fred Astaire. Bobby, you know what I'm gonna do? I'm going out to the biggest nightclub I can find.
