Matilda Lawler, nominated for a Gotham Award and named to Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood Impact Report, can next be seen starring in the HBO limited series IT: WELCOME TO DERRY. She is best known for starring in HBO Max's STATION ELEVEN, the critically-acclaimed limited series based on the post-apocalyptic bestseller by Emily St. John Mandel. Matilda played the young version of ‘Kirsten’ (also played by Mackenzie Davis) opposite Himesh Patel and has received rave reviews for her performance. She was also seen in the title role of ‘Flora’ in the Disney + feature film FLORA & ULYSSES based on the popular children’s novel by Kate Dicamillo. Matilda most recently was seen recurring in HBO Max’s hit drama THE GILDED AGE and in the independent feature EZRA directed by Tony Goldwyn opposite Robert De Niro, Bobby Canavale, and Rose Byrne, which premiered at TIFF. She starred in the Disney+ series THE SANTA CLAUSES opposite Tim Allen, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Kal Penn. Additional film and television credits include CBS’s hit show EVIL, and the thriller THE BLOCK ISLAND SOUND by the McManus Brothers. Matilda was recently seen starring as the lead of Berkeley Rep production THE THING ABOUT JELLYFISH. She made her Broadway debut originating the role of ‘Honor Carney’ in Jez Butterworth’s THE FERRYMAN, which won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Play. Matilda’s performance received rave reviews and landed her on Theatermania’s ‘Best Broadway Debuts of 2018.’
