[0:00] Jesse McAnally: Hello, I'm Jesse McAnally. And I'm Alan with two L's. And I'm Liz Estes. And welcome to Carrey'd Away, a podcast where we explore the films and television shows starring the one and only James Eugene Carrey. And Liz does a bunch of editing. And Alan shows up and chuckles. It's like you're here at gunpoint. Oh, the shooter is right there behind you, Alan. We definitely have a DEE understanding of Jim Carrey. That's for sure. I have a DEE understanding of him. That's right. Right. Mine is a little C plus. Yours is definitely D.
[0:48] Alan Seales: You guys are definitely both communists.
[0:50] Jesse McAnally: Well, because we're horny young men. Yeah. Yeah. What a transition. Speaking of horny young men, this week we are talking about the ambient equivalent in movie form, The Majestic.
[1:06] Alan Seales: What happened to you, son? Once upon a time, a stranger came to town. You seem a bit familiar. I don't even know who I am. Only to discover he might not be such a stranger after all. It's Luke. You are? My son from the director of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Who are you really? Just a guy trying to figure things out. Jim Carrey. Do you remember me? No, I'll sure try. The Majestic, rated PG, starts Friday, December 21st.
[1:35] Jesse McAnally: So The Majestic was released on December 21st, 2001. That's my birthday. Written by Michael Sloan. Starring Jim Carrey, Bob Babylon, Brent Frisco, Jeffrey McDamond, Amanda Detmer, and Alan Garfield. I like that. None of the really fancy character actors are in there.
[1:54] Alan Seales: Martin Landau?
[1:56] Jesse McAnally: Not even making this list. No, Martin Landau's at the bottom of the credits on Wikipedia. It was directed by the one and only Frank Darabont. The plot of The Majestic is, in 1951, a blacklisted Hollywood writer gets into a car accident, loses his memory, and settles down in a small town where he is mistaken for a long lost son. That is a convoluted narrative for what is, at its core, a simple story. Kind of.
[2:21] Alan Seales: I mean, I hoped it went in a different direction than how it ended up. This is the first time I watched it for this episode. And just because I know you dislike it so much, that makes me want to like it that much more. But that aside, I do want to say positive things about it because it pulled out a couple of my almost non-existent heartstrings.
[2:42] Jesse McAnally: Really? You felt emotionally connected to this? Because if that is the connection you're making, I fundamentally disagree. So I'm curious.
[2:47] Alan Seales: Yes. Yes, I actually did. I mean, for serious, Lori Holden, as the widowed fiancé, she wants this guy coming back and the whole town needs it. And then the dad, of course, played by the amazing Martin Landau, needs it as well. I mean, I am all about this Jim showing up. And I was like, wait a second. He literally looks exactly like everybody, like this dude, Luke Trimble, the character in all the pictures. So he's got to be Luke Trimble. So I was expecting at the end, like he got amnesia during the war, came back. I'm getting ahead of the plot summary that you're about to give.
[3:27] Jesse McAnally: He gave it already. We're good.
[3:30] Alan Seales: Yeah, yeah, we gave it. Oh, wait, that was it? Okay. That was the whole thing. People already watched the trailer. They heard the trailer by now, so they know.
[3:38] Jesse McAnally: This probably has some cheesy voiceover on or something. Jim Carrey is majestic. Jim Carrey stars as not Jimmy Stewart in The Majestic. He's not rubber face. He's not naked from the butt down. He's just like on some sleeping pills and kind of there. He shed a couple of tears. Wait, let me finish my thought, though. So that I thought that it did really well of bringing it back and giving everyone a reason to live again in the sleepy little town. Not sure where it was that he could just like fall into a river and wake up on a beach and everything's fine. But the whole thing that I thought was going to happen was that he would have gone away during the war like the guy they thought he was did. And instead of the guy he thought they thought he was actually dying. Spoiler alert. I thought he'd get amnesia during the war, came back and assumed this identity as Peter and then got into the wreck in the car as Peter and became himself again.
[4:33] Alan Seales: That's why I was going just a little too convoluted, not even for this movie, although this movie is allergic to melodrama of any kind, but not melatonin.
[4:43] Jesse McAnally: Yeah, melatonin, melatonin, melatonin, melatonin. It is afraid of melanin because there is not a single non-white person. Is this the whitest one of the whitest things I've ever seen? The guy, the guy that leaves the majestic to, I guess.
[4:57] Alan Seales: You're right. You're right. You're right. Okay, here's a really controversial opinion. First of all, it's weird that Jim Carrey does his two Jimmy Stewart tributes back to back like he did the Grinch, which is very much his tribute to Jimmy Stewart, especially in the monologues. And this, which is his like Mr. Deeds goes to Washington, Frank Capra version of Jimmy Stewart. I think this is technically Jim Carrey's second best performance as an actor outside of Eternal Sunshine. I thought it was really good. I think for what he is given, he is doing a good job.
[5:28] Jesse McAnally: It could have been 20 minutes. Okay. 30 minutes shorter. An hour, an hour shorter. It was this movie is two and a half hours long. You don't need the like, you know, cut between pulling the sheets down and guy getting into bed or something.
[5:43] Alan Seales: Right. You don't need to watch the full five minutes of making the bed. I'll give you that. But I thought it was good in the style that it was made. Very like emotional. We're connecting with these characters. I thought it was really well made.
[5:56] Jesse McAnally: I think it's an incredibly well made, boring movie. I every time I'm like, fuck this, the camera movements and the way that this is lit, it felt like every detail was meticulously crafted over. But the why was not the why? Why is it so meticulously crafted over? The thing that people that love Spielberg and try to emulate him, which Darabont is very much kind of an inspired piece of Spielberg, and I can see a lot of Spielbergian touches here, is Spielberg always thinks about what the audience wants. And I don't think for one minute anyone involved in this movie cared about the audience.
[6:32] Alan Seales: Well, OK, what do you how would you have changed it?
[6:38] Jesse McAnally: Let's start from one. I would cut the first 30 minutes. There is no mystery of is he the guy or isn't he so much that you tried to do a bunch of mental loop de loops to get there. Cut the first 20 minutes. They find this guy washed up on the beach and that is their opening scene.
[6:53] Alan Seales: OK, because it ended how it ended. I'll give you that. But if he were if you were going to follow my they made a different movie.
[6:57] Jesse McAnally: Yeah, they made a different movie. Maybe that's a good. It should have opened with him just lying on the beach and flashing back to that as the narrative went on. Like it should have done that. You could have kept the scene, just put it in a different spot.
[7:10] Alan Seales: Maybe that's true. Maybe like it opens. He's on the beach. He's got amnesia. We don't know how he got there. And then as he's starting to regain his memory, we're seeing little flashbacks of him as Peter. I would say even drop it right when he sees the movie and then we cut to that and then we see how we got there. And then because the framing device of this movie actually is him in a meeting with a bunch of executives, him talking about of script changes that are stupid. And that's like it's the classic. Hey, look at me. Do you wonder how I got here? Let me take the narration again like they. And it's over after five minutes.
[7:44] Jesse McAnally: How do you think those two actors felt they were in the scene with them that all we got to see was their belts in their hands?
[7:47] Alan Seales: Well, actually, I vaguely know who those actors are. Tell me.
[7:52] Jesse McAnally: They are the voices of Gary Marshall, Paul Mazursky, Sidney Pollack, Carl Reiner and Rob Reiner.
[7:59] Alan Seales: OK, that's hilarious. Those are some so big. I mean, speaking of heavy hitters and voice only roles, Liz, I know, you know, this is Matt Damon as Luke.
[8:05] Jesse McAnally: I know I was I'm in the credits and I was in the opening. I'm like, what the where is he? Where is he coming in? And I forgot he was supposed to come in until the end when I heard finally heard his voice. I was like, oh, that's Jason. The thing with Matt Damon's voice at one and a half speed, it doesn't sound like Matt Damon anymore. It's like, who is this? Sounds like the puppet from Team America.
[8:25] Alan Seales: Yeah, it sounds like a puppet. I'm a David. Like this is a gorgeous looking movie that just I don't get the why. Like every shot is so meticulously crafted, but I don't know why there is it feels like a deeply personal story that Frank Darabont desperately wants to tell. Jim Carrey really wants to execute well, but nobody thought why no one would want to see it. But the performance was good.
[8:54] Jesse McAnally: OK, I. Sure, it's fine. And there were some really like really well shot scenes. I thought the lighthouse scene in Sunset, that was beautiful, beautiful, well integrated CGI. But the why why there's cute moments. It's like it's like the first time I watched Crimson Peak, like I get why this movie looks so good. But why is the movie doing what I'm going to disagree with you on that? And now that's being added to the wheel. Way to go. Great. But that's a pro over the other podcast. Just Naira incest is wincest on that. As far as Guillermo del Toro goes.
[9:30] Alan Seales: That's true. That's true. No, but like I've turned around in Crimson Peak since like, oh, there's a reason behind it. But when I first watch it, my first thought was this is the shiniest turd I've ever seen in my life. I love looking at it, but it's a turd. I think that this fits more of the majestic, but yeah, it's a very tiny turn.
[9:44] Jesse McAnally: Agree. Disagree. What if the majestic was set on a submarine?
[9:50] Alan Seales: I don't know, but I do have a quote from Frank Darabont about the majestic from 2008. Let's hear it. So this is from Empire magazine. The majestic is a movie I'm very proud of, and I really love it. It achieved exactly what I set out to make. And I find it very moving. But in your very magazine, somebody who prays the hell out of Shashank Redemption said, quote, Frank Darabont needs to apologize for making the majestic. And I thought, really, what do I really what did I do? I need to apologize. Kiss my ass. Five star five star review.
[10:24] Jesse McAnally: He's a prickly man.
[10:24] Alan Seales: Yeah. What is it, man? What do you guys I mean, Alan, do you know any of Frank Darabont's other work?
[10:30] Alan Seales: Of course, I do. Lifeshot, Sacred Direction, Green Mile, The Mist, Majestic. Oh, we said that. Walking Dead, Bury the Lark, The Woman, The Woman in the Room, A Nightmare on Elm Street. I mean, at least I heard it on top of my head. Totally up top of my head.
[10:52] Jesse McAnally: Yeah, he totally didn't Google it.
[10:52] Alan Seales: No, not at all. Even though I'm supposed to do that, Alan. He gave it a go. What are you going to bring to the show?
[10:56] Jesse McAnally: I don't know. I'm contractually obligated to be here. So enjoy my chat. There's there's someone is behind the door, like making this A Nightmare on Elm Street recorded. Well, don't shoot me in the ear or I'll have to declare my run unmade in two days. I know I I love Frank Darabont. He wrote the best nightmare sequel of all time. And I'm only saying this so I have an excuse to put the Dream Warrior song in this episode by Dawkins. Great song. But yeah, great, great movie, Nightmare Three. I know about Frank Darabont, Stephen King's basically. Well, that's all he's done outside of this in The Walking Dead.
[11:34] Jesse McAnally: Yeah, he only makes. Also, this is a Castle Rock movie, which makes all the Stephen Kinks. So it makes me. So this movie, I can't even say it's garbage, like truly garbage. Too much love and effort is put into it for it to be trash. I truly could live the rest of my life without ever watching it again.
[11:52] Alan Seales: There's no budget. OK, 72 million.
[11:52] Jesse McAnally: OK, let's pause for a second. Can you imagine any movie like this getting a 72 million dollar budget today?
[11:58] Alan Seales: No, no, no, no.
[11:58] Jesse McAnally: OK, it's 2001. So let's see. 72 million in 2001. That's going to be today. That's going to be what? Oh, come on, Google. You let me down.
[12:16] Alan Seales: It grows 32 million in 2001.
[12:24] Jesse McAnally: Right. For a 72 million dollar budget. Anyway, to this point, even today, I can't imagine. It's probably over 100 million in today's inflation dollars, but I cannot.
[12:29] Alan Seales: It's about a hundred and twenty seven million.
[12:33] Jesse McAnally: That's what I said. All right. And that's what I bring. Bad math. And the no. For that, I agree. This for if unless 50 or 70 of it went to Jim Carrey's salary, I don't see how this was that expensive. There's been no report of a salary on this one, unfortunately. So I have no idea.
[12:50] Alan Seales: So I mean, it's a big cast. It's a big ensemble cast.
[12:55] Jesse McAnally: It's incredible cast of character actors. And that lady from Walking Dead died. That's going to be any lady in Walking Dead. That's a spoiler.
[13:04] Alan Seales: Laurie Holden. Jim Carrey's kind of in the one for them, one for me time where he's trying to set himself up. That started really with the cable guy. I know people are iffy about that. The cable guy was kind of one for him. And then he went back to basics with Liar, Liar. Then he took a risk that did the Truman Show paid off. And he's like, OK, let me do a little darker stuff. Man on the Moon flopped like hard, did not get any like Oscar love. And he's like, OK, OK, I'll do do the Raunchy comedy, me, myself and Irina. I'm going to do the weird thing. Didn't really hit it that he hits a fucking home run with Jim Carrey as the Grinch. And it's a million dollars. Like, all right, all right. I can I can dip my toes back into like, you know, prestige film. Then the Majestic, oh, shows that when he's not talking out of his ass, he does not rank in the money. It is like no more than else. But even the Majestic was good. The competition that week was insane.
[14:02] Jesse McAnally: What else was going on? Money wise. So the other movies released during that time was Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring.
[14:08] Alan Seales: Oh, never. Ocean's Eleven, Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius.
[14:10] Jesse McAnally: Oh, that's a big one.
[14:13] Alan Seales: And Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
[14:13] Jesse McAnally: Never heard of it.
[14:18] Alan Seales: Oh, well, OK. I did get a little quote here of $70 million budget in place, which includes $20 million paid to Jim. So he kept his.
[14:25] Alan Seales: Quote from the cable guy basically sure so 20 million of 72 went to him began filming in LA March 5th 2001 and then finished in peaceful Ferndale, California, June 29th 2001 not that anyone gives a shit. Yeah, this film was re-released in Australia in 2020.
[14:43] Jess McAnally: I made a hundred and fifteen dollars. Wait, what total? Yes, 115.
[14:49] Alan Seales: 15 no zeros. No zeroes. No, no commas the theaters wasn't in Australia. Does it say?
[14:57] Jess McAnally: Half of one.
[14:58] Alan Seales: Well, I don't know probably probably someone didn't didn't make the real change does not tell him someone didn't make the real change. That's a good. That's a good joke out. It's a good reference.
[15:09] Jess McAnally: I hope you're right of grades. I ever remember the time code for when this happens in the movie by the time I edit this which will be six years from now.
[15:17] Alan Seales: Man, what did this open against cuz I'm curious what? Oh, oh in Australia and there's a lot of half. There's not having the weekend from what I glanced. Well, no, it's even worse.
[15:28] Jess McAnally: He know what else God it's last. It only ran until fucking MLK day.
[15:33] Alan Seales: Oh yeah from December to January one month Jesus Christ, oh, that's not good. I got pulled quickly.
[15:36] Jess McAnally: Oh, thanks 21st 2001 Box. All right. You guys want to rip off blank check for a second?
[15:50] Alan Seales: Can you guess what was in the top five and the domestic box office for December 21st 2001?
[15:55] Jess McAnally: Lord of the Ring.
[15:57] Alan Seales: Well, is that number what number is that at Harry Potter's got to be one over weight over Lord of the Rings.
[16:02] Jess McAnally: Okay, Lord of the Rings is one. Yeah, Lord of the Rings gotta be one. Okay where what do you think is number two?
[16:09] Alan Seales: Harry Potter.
[16:11] Jess McAnally: Oceans 11 oceans 11. Okay. Oh, so number three is Lord of the Rings. No, Lord of the Rings is number one.
[16:17] Alan Seales: So Harry Potter was number three Potter's number three beat out by oceans 11. Nope. Nope. Nope. Oh, so that was number three.
[16:23] Jess McAnally: No, no, it's 11 is number two. God damn numbers. Okay, what's number three?
[16:28] Alan Seales: It's not Harry Potter. What else was playing?
[16:31] Jess McAnally: Yes, that's it. Really?
[16:33] Alan Seales: Yeah. All right number four. It is a star vehicle with a movie star that is still breaking box-office records to this day but it's more of a like prestige kind of work in 2001.
[16:44] Jess McAnally: Not Daniel Radcliffe. It is not a man or a woman. It is a man. Okay in 2001 was going on to those games. We need to Turtles to know that's I have no idea.
[16:54] Alan Seales: I will it's vanilla sky starring Tom Cruise.
[16:54] Jess McAnally: I don't remember that one. I like that.
[17:02] Alan Seales: Then number five is a film called How High which I'm assuming is a stoner movie.
[17:08] Jess McAnally: Um.
[17:09] Alan Seales: Number six is a classic in my mind better than any movie of parodies not another teen movie and then that number seven we finally have Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Not another teen movie is one of the most underestimated best movies I can remember from any point in my life.
[17:26] Jess McAnally: I think that just teen movies at that time were such garbage that that making fun of it has only aged better.
[17:34] Alan Seales: I liked up how high it's a stoner movie starring Method Man and Red Man and also features noted convicted criminal Jeffrey Jones.
[17:42] Jess McAnally: How fun next criminal at the time?
[17:45] Alan Seales: I don't know just I just barely because I think he was like just about to be arrested at the time.
[17:50] Jess McAnally: I don't remember the timeline of Jeffrey Jones's criminal proceedings. You don't have that memorized. I'm disappointed.
[17:55] Alan Seales: Yeah, I mean I bet you're all wondering why he's not in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice guys he was kind of a bad person. Look it up. We're not your moms.
[18:00] Jess McAnally: Yeah, also Fred Willard is in it noted person who jacks off in porn theaters not even in the porn theater. He was.
[18:12] Alan Seales: No, it was in a porn theater. No, it was in the porn theater. He wasn't inside the theater though.
[18:17] Jess McAnally: I don't know, but he told a cop. He wasn't masturbating is all I know. That's what Peewee Herman said. Yeah, I'm Paul Rubens.
[18:23] Alan Seales: I was gonna say that's it. That's a thing. Yeah, go back to there's an episode we talked about that for way too long instead of the subject matter.
[18:30] Jess McAnally: Speak of the subject matter majestic the majestic when we compare our opinions to though.
[18:35] Alan Seales: Yeah, so a to like well-renowned critics at the time. Let's see Roger Ebert's reviews for the Chicago Sun times Alan um before he reads it I want you to guess what Roger Ebert thought of the majestic cuz Jess and I both know what he thought but what did you think Roger Ebert thought of the majestic?
[18:51] Jess McAnally: I think Roger Ebert despised it.
[18:54] Alan Seales: I think you have too much faith in Roger Ebert's taste. So his review says I imagine every single review of the majestic will compare it to the works of Frank Capra and that is as it should be. Frank Darabont has deliberately tried to make it the kind of Capra movie movie Capra made about decent small-town folks standing up for traditional American values in an age of Rambo patriotism. It is good to be reminded of Capra pre patriotism to remember that America is not just about fighting and winning it's about defending our freedom. If we defeat the enemy at the cost of our own principles who has won in a sea of critics that hated the majestic Roger Ebert stood up and gave it a three and a half and said it was delightful.
[19:48] Jess McAnally: Well, how about we compare our opinions to those of the real critics over on letterboxd.com it's time for the letterboxd game one star five star. All right, Liz what we got?
[19:58] Alan Seales: All right for those if this is your first episode interesting place to start as what I'll say I hope I bet you really like the majestic so much. I mean.
[20:07] Jess McAnally: But we're like that Alan guy. I can't know how to spell his name or editing. But still I don't know why he's here.
[20:14] Alan Seales: Well, we're glad you're here anyway but anyway this is the letterboxd game where I went on letterboxd and got real one or five star reviews that real people wrote that I did not make up and these two have to guess if they're positive or negative based on very little context or logic.
[20:29] Jess McAnally: So it's actually a lot harder than you think.
[20:32] Alan Seales: Well, we don't have much logic. Anyway, that's true. Who wants to go first? I'll let you guys pick. Oh, it's burning a wheel.
[20:38] Jess McAnally: Okay, I'll go first. All right. Are you ready Alan?
[20:38] Alan Seales: Yes, I am. Hey, this was a whole different experience.
[20:44] Jess McAnally: Jesus Christ one star.
[20:44] Alan Seales: That was a five-star. Damn it. It's how you read it. You threw me off. It's like Jesus Christ.
[20:54] Jess McAnally: Says Christ, I love and holding a gun to your head is rolling his eyes at you.
[20:54] Alan Seales: Yeah, no idea what we're talking about. Yes. Are you ready?
[20:59] Jess McAnally: I am. I did want bad things to happen to Jim Carrey.
[20:59] Alan Seales: Oh man that's a one.
[21:06] Jess McAnally: That's a five.
[21:10] Alan Seales: You know what I don't think this guy deserves that no, he definitely doesn't.
[21:10] Jess McAnally: I turned to Liz turn to Liz. I texted Liz. Well, yeah, I turned to Liz digitally.
[21:21] Alan Seales: Yeah.
[21:21] Jess McAnally: Just why is texting me while watching the majestic it could have turned into dear Evan Hansen and the minute the minute he has the opportunity to tell the truth he's like, oh fuck. I'm fucking everything up guys.
[21:32] Alan Seales: You like tells one lie one intentional by and it was for the sake of a dying old man aside from that he pretty much is a refuses to emotionally manipulate anyone which makes him one step better than dear Evan Hansen.
[21:46] Jess McAnally: Oh, so is Martin Landau's like that the ultimate old man to life life or I would lie for Martin Landau like there's Jerry Orbach at first. I had to look it up sure I know I see was Martin Landau immediately. It was like, oh god he has a very specific face and the only time he doesn't have that face is when he played fucking Bella Lugosi and Ed Wood.
[22:05] Alan Seales: For dip for one second I thought he was the dad from Nightmare 2 then I remember there was clue Golgar and I got him confused. You know, his daughter was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
[22:14] Jess McAnally: Jerry's or Martin Landau. Oh, yeah, Juliet Lando.
[22:19] Alan Seales: Interesting interesting indeed. All right Alan. So are you ready for your next letterbox review? No.
[22:26] Jess McAnally: No, I'm not throw it at me.
[22:26] Alan Seales: Okay, this movie walks. So Nicole Kidman's AMC ad could run.
[22:31] Jess McAnally: It does have that pretty but pointless thing. It does has a vibe.
[22:37] Alan Seales: One that's right.
[22:42] Jess McAnally: Settle out I demand a recount rigged one.
[22:47] Alan Seales: Recounted there's more refuse. You have a recount, Georgia. Yes. Are you ready? I am.
[22:52] Jess McAnally: I meant to put on Joe dirt and clicked on this movie and said somehow.
[22:58] Alan Seales: You know what? He finished it five stars.
[22:58] Jess McAnally: That's right.
[23:02] Alan Seales: No, I want a Georgia count of Florida, there's one of them.
[23:07] Jess McAnally: I want to Jordan count look if you're gonna pick a recount pick a goddamn state you too.
[23:11] Alan Seales: I cannot do both at the same time order. Okay, Florida great. I gotta get through Ron then.
[23:16] Jess McAnally: All right, wait, Georgia's not a state not anymore welcome to the future.
[23:20] Alan Seales: fucking 2065 thanks, Obama. The states are just not a thing. All right, Obama. I think he ruined America. Yeah.
[23:31] Jess McAnally: Yeah, buddy. It was your job letting Georgia's stay Georgia Florida. All right, Alan. Are you ready? Yes.
[23:38] Alan Seales: So we have an uneven amount of reviews because I cut one because it's bad so so any one of you could actually win one of you could win this holy and not tie. Oh and yeah, okay.
[23:47] Jess McAnally: Okay, that isn't real anyway, so it's all good. Sure. This game isn't real. All right, what?
[23:52] Alan Seales: Well, this game isn't real either. It's a fake game. What if this game was?
[23:57] Jess McAnally: That's a great song. Oh, what what movie do you think would bring back bring you back from in amnesia for me?
[24:03] Alan Seales: It would be 27 dresses.
[24:05] Jess McAnally: Wait, no, I want an answer that question from you Alan. Yeah. No, it's a legit good question I just want to ask everyone this question.
[24:09] Alan Seales: Wait, is this the review? This is the review the review is what movie do you think would bring back bring you back from amnesia for me?
[24:17] Jess McAnally: It would probably be 27 dresses.
[24:17] Alan Seales: Yeah would for me. It would be two days meet Ninja Turtles the first one.
[24:25] Jess McAnally: What would your amnesia movie be 1990? Um, I don't know probably like probably eternal sunshine honestly.
[24:31] Alan Seales: Hmm, one of my favorite movie watch that over and over again. I did it would Wow when I first had cable is like one of the only movies I'm like, you know what an encore channel at the time I watched it over and over again because in those days when we finally got cable there's no one monitoring the shit I was watching anymore. So I could finally just watch r-rated movies and did I watch the blood-and-gore? No, I watch eternal sunshine cuz that was my edgy r-rated movie.
[24:57] Jess McAnally: Yeah, I would I would be Spaceballs or train money.
[25:02] Alan Seales: Spaceballs.
[25:04] Jess McAnally: Nostalgia train spotting because I've seen it like 80 million types. Both of those are just like good watch, right?
[25:08] Alan Seales: They're they're good watches. Yeah, and both of them probably kill a baby. Yeah, well Spaceballs doesn't kill a baby but anyway Alan, what do you think that rating of a review is?
[25:13] Jess McAnally: Oh, um, that's a five-star. That's a one actually.
[25:19] Alan Seales: So that's what I said one. That's totally what I said. Stop ghostlighting her Alan.
[25:24] Jess McAnally: Ghost ghostlighting. Yeah, didn't you know it's called ghostlighting. Oh, wait, I'm confused and I feel bad.
[25:30] Alan Seales: I'm at least yes. Are you ready? No, no Liz back me up here. It's called ghostlighting. No, it's called gasoline. No.
[25:36] Jess McAnally: No, it's ghostlighting. It's called gasoline. You're missing the joke Liz. I don't care. I don't like this joke. I'm ignoring it.
[25:44] Alan Seales: My strategy with bad jokes as I choose to ignore them by just not getting it, even though I get it fully but no, then I just double down even.
[25:53] Jess McAnally: And then in post I just double you saying that with reverb and do the Andrew method.
[25:57] Alan Seales: Ah, and it's just yeah add crickets.
[26:00] Jess McAnally: I think think Andrew's done that several times before or other this out skirt theme for no fucking reason.
[26:07] Alan Seales: No, Andrew does it strategically he's smart. Hey Jess, are you ready? Yes, 50 cinemas are cool.
[26:13] Jess McAnally: They are but also air conditioning. It's real nice. I love air conditioning.
[26:18] Alan Seales: As someone that has had my shorts play in 50 cinemas. Fuck it hurts on when you're an hour three of the short films you're like I can't breathe. Yeah, fucking breathe.
[26:25] Jess McAnally: Yeah, that's a five. That's a one.
[26:31] Alan Seales: Yeah today this is gonna date this podcast further but I saw long legs on Saturday and that theater was not air-conditioned properly and it was warm in there.
[26:40] Jess McAnally: Ooh, the long legs is great. You should go see it.
[26:40] Alan Seales: Oh, I don't mind warm environments I mind smelling other people's bo strangers if it's somebody I'm comfortable with I'm like, all right, we all smells cool.
[26:53] Jess McAnally: So if your wife is smelly, you're like, I'm like, yeah, I'm used to that. I married her like I'm married that smell my kids now they're getting to that age where they have in their own smell that's not cool. But I'm gonna give him deodorant yet. Yes. It's a constant struggle. Did you do your deodorant? Did you brush your teeth?
[27:09] Alan Seales: I gotta find my real dad. Do you know Alan? I'm still I'm still at the phase with them though that if they they know that I have things on YouTube just random videos and they're like you're on YouTube. You're famous. And so I'm super cool in their eyes I'm gonna keep it that way as long as I can.
[27:30] Jess McAnally: I mean, you're the co-founder of a cup a cup brought a podcast they give zero shits about that pretty cool. They know it's I'm on YouTube. I have videos and you think you're you get on tik-tok? They'll think you're extra famous.
[27:43] Alan Seales: Well, I got you beat cuz my nephew thinks I'm really cool cuz I can hold his bottle and make him go to sleep.
[27:48] Jess McAnally: Yeah.
[27:49] Alan Seales: I knees thinks I'm cool because I helped her get out of the pool a couple times when she was swimming around when I was recently hanging out with her in the bar. So low for kids. I gotta do is just well, she's also too so she's just impressed with anyone giving that's what I mean. That's what I mean. Just give him a smile and he's adorable.
[28:04] Jess McAnally: Anyway, where was oh, yeah, I just just went so I lost her. Yes. All right, Alan, you ready? Sure.
[28:11] Alan Seales: Damnit Darabont. Ooh. Ooh, that could be damn it. I like this and I didn't want to or damn it why did you make this? I hate you. I'm gonna why did you make me feel so many emotions? That's it five five star.
[28:22] Jess McAnally: That's where I want. It's a what it was. Damn it. I hate you.
[28:51] Jess McAnally: We're tied one-to-one.
[28:52] Alan Seales: You're still tied one-to-one.
[28:53] Jess McAnally: So one of you could get ahead.
[28:54] Alan Seales: All right.
[28:55] Jess McAnally: Don't forget to care less.
[28:56] Alan Seales: Sure, but we don't get carried away.
[28:59] Jess McAnally: Wait, how do we ignore that, Liz?
[29:01] Liz: I don't, I don't know.
[29:02] Jess McAnally: Okay.
[29:03] Liz: I'm not going to ignore that.
[29:04] Alan Seales: Oh, damn it.
[29:04] Jess McAnally: I don't know where every bad joke Jess says.
[29:06] Alan Seales: I ignore like 50% of them.
[29:08] Liz: The misogynistic ones.
[29:10] Alan Seales: Yeah, I mostly ignore the misogynistic ones.
[29:12] Jess McAnally: Fair.
[29:12] Alan Seales: And then I just change the topic so we don't linger on it too much.
[29:15] Jess McAnally: So that's hilarious because...
[29:18] Alan Seales: God, another fucking tangent, but it's...
[29:19] Jess McAnally: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[29:21] Alan Seales: I know you're going to say.
[29:22] Jess McAnally: With Bree, where she was just getting so angry throughout our Grease 2 review, our Grease 2 drinking game, that eventually she just started telling the best jokes because she was so angry.
[29:34] Alan Seales: So they did a drinking game with both Grease 2s.
[29:36] Jess McAnally: It's not, I did a cut down version of it.
[29:39] Alan Seales: All Bree's good jokes are in there.
[29:40] Jess McAnally: I think, basically, Jess and Andrew started drinking when mild sexual assault was occurring.
[29:47] Alan Seales: And Bree was getting mad about it, as I would if I was Bree in that situation.
[29:54] Jess McAnally: So she just chose to ignore the joke and get other funnier jokes to counteract the terribleness.
[30:00] Alan Seales: The thing is, the joke is not the sexual assault.
[30:04] Jess McAnally: The joke is why the fuck is there so much sexual assault in Grease?
[30:07] Alan Seales: There's a lot of sexual assault in Grease.
[30:09] Jess McAnally: Which is, I did not watch Grease before writing that into the drinking game because I assumed it would come up like twice.
[30:15] Alan Seales: It came up like at least 50 times.
[30:18] Jess McAnally: The main joke of the back half of that episode is the cool rider count I put in the corner because they said cool rider like 20 times.
[30:25] Alan Seales: That's a good video.
[30:27] Jess McAnally: I'm very drunk at it.
[30:28] Alan Seales: It's on the Musicals2's YouTube channel if you're interested.
[30:30] Jess McAnally: It's just the Grease 2 is separate from Grease 1.
[30:33] Alan Seales: So you can check it out if you want.
[30:34] Jess McAnally: It's pretty good.
[30:35] Alan Seales: I edited it.
[30:36] Jess McAnally: I'm a little biased.
[30:37] Alan Seales: So you did a great job.
[30:38] Jess McAnally: You did the editing on that one, too.
[30:39] Alan Seales: That's why you're here.
[30:40] Jess McAnally: Yeah, that's why I'm here.
[30:41] Alan Seales: Edit-nig.
[30:42] Jess McAnally: Edit-tigging.
[30:43] Alan Seales: Editing-nig.
[30:44] Jess McAnally: Should we acknowledge that these are all inside jokes that came from a wonderful review?
[30:48] Alan Seales: Well, I guess it is the review section.
[30:52] Jess McAnally: Ellen, you got to give this off your chest.
[30:55] Alan Seales: Let's finish the game first, Roy.
[30:57] Jess McAnally: Okay.
[30:58] Alan Seales: Then we can talk about the review.
[30:59] Jess McAnally: Okay.
[31:00] Alan Seales: And I'm going to read it because you guys, I'm going to read it because you guys shouldn't read it.
[31:04] Jess McAnally: All right.
[31:05] Alan Seales: All right.
[31:05] Jess McAnally: Say the word.
[31:06] Alan Seales: Jess, you're first.
[31:07] Jess McAnally: Yes.
[31:08] Alan Seales: How cool would this movie have been if it turned out the whole town was full of commies?
[31:14] Jess McAnally: That is a good question.
[31:16] Alan Seales: I think that's a one-star.
[31:17] Jess McAnally: That's right.
[31:19] Alan Seales: But also, I think the whole town is full of commies.
[31:22] Jess McAnally: It represent is full of commies.
[31:23] Alan Seales: Like they're all kind of like helping together and building a community of their own and no one really seems like they have to go to work.
[31:33] Jess McAnally: They're just kind of going to work for the community, which is truly, truly communism.
[31:38] Alan Seales: True.
[31:38] Jess McAnally: All right, Allen, you can tie it.
[31:40] Alan Seales: I can tie it up.
[31:40] Jess McAnally: All right, it's very short.
[31:42] Alan Seales: So be ready to listen.
[31:43] Jess McAnally: Jess, I am.
[31:44] Alan Seales: So silly.
[31:45] Jess McAnally: Or it could be so silly.
[31:47] Alan Seales: I think that's a negative one, Allen.
[31:49] Jess McAnally: Yeah.
[31:50] Alan Seales: Well, now that you said negative, I got to go positive.
[31:52] Jess McAnally: Fine.
[31:52] Alan Seales: It's positive, Jess.
[31:54] Jess McAnally: I'm Allen to tie so he's that less cranky.
[31:57] Alan Seales: I will say I was intent.
[31:59] Jess McAnally: I did scroll down to try to fuck with you on that one.
[32:01] Alan Seales: So I did cheat on there.
[32:03] Jess McAnally: So you can't cheat on me.
[32:04] Alan Seales: What?
[32:05] Jess McAnally: Okay.
[32:05] Alan Seales: And now let's talk about the thing that we keep mentioning.
[32:08] Jess McAnally: So we get lots of reviews over there on the Apple iTunes, Apple podcast, whatever it is.
[32:12] Alan Seales: We've got the Apple.
[32:14] Jess McAnally: We've gotten like three, one from me, one from another person.
[32:17] Alan Seales: I'm sure Allen knows.
[32:19] Jess McAnally: And then this one.
[32:20] Alan Seales: So this was this is a five-star review, by the way.
[32:23] Jess McAnally: So but you would have guessed otherwise you'd read it, but I'm going to read it because I'm a semi more neutral presence here.
[32:30] Alan Seales: All right.
[32:31] Jess McAnally: I'm coming from this show as a fate of musicals with cheese and Jess and Liz have such incredible and easy chemistry on that show and they bring it to this.
[32:39] Alan Seales: It's obvious that Jess has a D love for Jim Carrey and Liv does some research and editing, but I kind of wonder what Allen with two L's and an E brings to the table to bell aside from like chuckling or saying he was bored and didn't pay attention.
[32:59] Jess McAnally: I still like the show and hope they do more, but I don't get why Allen is there.
[33:04] Alan Seales: I think he does other podcasts, but it doesn't fit the doesn't fit the vibe vibe.
[33:09] Jess McAnally: Seems like he's joining a gunpoint or contractual obligation.
[33:12] Alan Seales: Maybe it'll change once we get movies.
[33:15] Jess McAnally: He's actually seen shrug emoji.
[33:18] Alan Seales: Hope y'all do more and I'm really but really I'm here for Jess and Liz, you know, you know girlfriend said the same thing when we went to Broadway.
[33:26] Jess McAnally: You can't please them all and for the record, I have seen everything we've talked about thus far.
[33:30] Alan Seales: He does Allen does watch them.
[33:34] Jess McAnally: He text in the group chat as he's watching it to give or give his thoughts in the moment.
[33:39] Alan Seales: So yes, and I was very sad.
[33:41] Jess McAnally: Martin Landau died in this one.
[33:42] Alan Seales: That's the review.
[33:45] Jess McAnally: We keep referencing up.
[33:46] Alan Seales: Please review us, please and it's okay.
[33:49] Jess McAnally: You can spell my name any way you want.
[33:50] Alan Seales: I'm here for the chuckles.
[33:51] Jess McAnally: I was about to say when did we invite Alan or you have Alan not Alan Alan fellow.
[33:57] Alan Seales: We about to say are they listening to episodes?
[33:59] Jess McAnally: I'm not hearing cuz I don't remember it.
[34:01] Alan Seales: Allen.
[34:03] Jess McAnally: That's not what Barbie Allen is spelled.
[34:05] Alan Seales: It's spelled like Allen seals.
[34:06] Jess McAnally: Allen.
[34:06] Alan Seales: So no, he's a LL a n.
[34:09] Jess McAnally: It's not.
[34:09] Alan Seales: Well, yeah, yeah.
[34:10] Jess McAnally: So Barbie Allen still different.
[34:12] Alan Seales: Yeah, it's still there.
[34:13] Jess McAnally: I was going to say X might be Barbie Allen, but it's not Barbie.
[34:15] Alan Seales: Nope.
[34:15] Jess McAnally: No Barbie Allen either.
[34:16] Alan Seales: Yeah, so I'm here for that.
[34:17] Jess McAnally: I'll tell you guys.
[34:18] Alan Seales: I bring the chuckle.
[34:19] Jess McAnally: Maybe it's because of Tim Allen.
[34:21] Alan Seales: Oh, maybe that's why do they think I'm Tim Allen?
[34:23] Jess McAnally: No, I think just they don't want to spell Alan and even though you're in the title of the podcast is literally in the title.
[34:29] Alan Seales: I'm not in the title, but you're here's your cheese.
[34:32] Jess McAnally: Sorry, you know, patriarchy sometimes works in our benefit.
[34:36] Alan Seales: Yeah, it's Jess and Allen and Liz is also is yeah, I tell people the title like are you in it?
[34:41] Jess McAnally: I'm like, yeah, I've been I think when we started I was like, I'll just be a little low stress role for Liz like he'll just be like a Liz can kind of participate if she wants to and like hang out like and then if you became a much bigger part of the show as it went on.
[34:56] Alan Seales: Yeah, so sorry.
[34:57] Jess McAnally: I mean we can always just like throw her name on there with a label maker.
[35:02] Alan Seales: I do love that people on Twitter also know not a spell Liz's name and throw an extra Z in there.
[35:05] Jess McAnally: Someone threw an extra Z in my name on a musicals of cheese reply recently.
[35:10] Alan Seales: Really?
[35:11] Jess McAnally: Yeah, Liz and no one's didn't as far as my name my name.
[35:16] Alan Seales: You can't spell majestic without Jess in that case.
[35:20] Jess McAnally: What is our overall thoughts of majestic and is it an already then or a no spank you Alan start us off.
[35:25] Alan Seales: You can't spell McAnally without the anal.
[35:28] Jess McAnally: Let's get it cut.
[35:30] Alan Seales: Oh man, you're about you almost did a spit take.
[35:33] Jess McAnally: He's not wrong.
[35:34] Alan Seales: No, I would show I choked on it earlier.
[35:36] Jess McAnally: So what are you now?
[35:37] Alan Seales: Let's see my overall thoughts.
[35:40] Alan Seales: I'm going to give this a more much more than halfway already then it is definitely in the upper quadrant of the lower quartile.
[35:51] Jess McAnally: Wait, no, no, no the lower quartile of the upper quadrant.
[35:56] Alan Seales: If I have four quadrants, it's at the top of the second.
[35:59] Jess McAnally: It's not just what's the percentage number of positive is like 60% already then like I'm gonna give it 74 because I'll get 75 to 76.
[36:08] Alan Seales: It's in the top quartile again.
[36:10] Jess McAnally: So 75% already then.
[36:12] Alan Seales: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[36:12] Jess McAnally: That's what I'll give it.
[36:13] Alan Seales: I'll give it like are we doing Rotten Tomatoes rules for success or somehow positive?
[36:16] Jess McAnally: Some people say like it's a gleaning on the edge of already then so I just use percentage to calculate the actual thought of that.
[36:23] Alan Seales: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[36:26] Liz: How about you?
[36:27] Alan Seales: It's a no spank you.
[36:28] Liz: It's like a 40.
[36:29] Alan Seales: It's a no spank you.
[36:30] Liz: It was so boring.
[36:31] Alan Seales: I don't like it.
[36:32] Liz: I didn't engage with it emotionally.
[36:33] Alan Seales: I felt nothing and it's just weird.
[36:36] Liz: I don't like it.
[36:37] Alan Seales: I mean, I still like Frank Capra movies.
[36:39] Liz: I don't know but it's just it's Jim Carrey on Ambien and like a bunch of montages of bullshit.
[36:46] Alan Seales: It's like I don't care.
[36:47] Liz: I will say every montage.
[36:49] Alan Seales: I was 50% more interested in the movie.
[36:52] Liz: Yeah, that were awesome.
[36:54] Alan Seales: They're a little too long for me.
[36:55] Liz: It was I checked out pretty early during the opening scene because I was like, well, I'm not going to like this aren't I and then I kept going.
[37:02] Alan Seales: I'm like, I'm not going to like it.
[37:03] Liz: So I didn't like it.
[37:04] Alan Seales: Come back.
[37:05] Liz: I wanted the girlfriend to come show up.
[37:07] Alan Seales: He left him because he's a commie.
[37:08] Liz: Well, off-screen off-screen.
[37:11] Alan Seales: Yeah, I guess they but yeah, it was boring.
[37:13] Liz: I don't like it but Martin Landau's in it and Bruce Campbell's in it for like a minute.
[37:17] Alan Seales: So I guess that's cool.
[37:18] Liz: No spank you.
[37:19] Alan Seales: And Jason Bourne.
[37:21] Liz: Oh, yeah, and Matt Damon as a Matt Dean.
[37:24] Alan Seales: Yeah, as far as me, this is a hard no spank you.
[37:28] Liz: Alan's a light.
[37:29] Alan Seales: Alrighty, then I think I'm a light no spank you.
[37:32] Alan Seales: I remember hating this movie a lot more when I was younger and I have tried revisiting it shortly before this podcast and I really couldn't do it.
[37:40] Alan Seales: But now that I kind of forced myself to sit down, I found myself a little charmed by moments, but you know, there are it's still not great.
[37:49] Alan Seales: It's still not a fun watch not a not a good watch, you know, they're the production design the visual effects the actual cinematography Jim Carrey's performance.
[38:00] Jess McAnally: All those things are, you know, it's a tale told by an idiot signifying nothing.
[38:04] Alan Seales: I mean, okay.
[38:06] Jess McAnally: Okay.
[38:07] Alan Seales: Okay.
[38:07] Jess McAnally: I'll give you that.
[38:08] Alan Seales: Although there is a really bright moment when Jim Carrey gives the monologue that is him really really doing like Jimmy Stewart to the max with the I believe in the Declaration of Independence and I think the First Amendment is the most important document and I cannot be amended as a contract.
[38:29] Alan Seales: You are out of line, sir.
[38:31] Jess McAnally: You are not dismissed.
[38:33] Alan Seales: You cannot walk away.
[38:34] Jess McAnally: Why are the cops letting you walk away?
[38:37] Alan Seales: What is going on here?
[38:38] Jess McAnally: You guys need to be more sleepy.
[38:40] Alan Seales: This isn't accurate.
[38:40] Jess McAnally: Like you got to be a little sleepier while yelling at Congress.
[38:44] Alan Seales: No, I was the congressman like trying to bang the gavel.
[38:47] Jess McAnally: I do not believe in this that much.
[38:50] Alan Seales: I am I am out of court and I'm going to go make out with Matt Day.
[38:50] Jess McAnally: I'm going to go cook Matt Damon's corpse.
[38:57] Alan Seales: Let's go.
[39:02] Jess McAnally: We have to set him up in the cup chair, darling.
[39:05] Alan Seales: All right, says Lori Holden.
[39:07] Jess McAnally: God, this took a turn.
[39:09] Alan Seales: Yeah, I really did.
[39:10] Jess McAnally: The Majestic.
[39:11] Alan Seales: I'll watch it if you like to be bored.
[39:14] Jess McAnally: Yeah, do you want to go to sleep?
[39:15] Alan Seales: Oh, no, it's Majestic.
[39:17] Jess McAnally: It's one of those movies like it's a great date movie because you can make out through a bunch of it and not miss a lot of plot points.
[39:23] Alan Seales: I think what I described it to Liz as is a film that would be on Ticket Tee all day on a Sunday and give you the Sunday scary and then I responded.
[39:31] Jess McAnally: I could imagine my dad falling asleep to this, right?
[39:34] Alan Seales: Yeah.
[39:34] Jess McAnally: Yeah.
[39:34] Alan Seales: So once you get through dating and you get married, then you fall asleep to the same movies because you have nothing else to do.
[39:39] Jess McAnally: I liked it.
[39:40] Alan Seales: You know, I didn't say this.
[39:42] Jess McAnally: I took a nap in the middle of it.
[39:43] Alan Seales: Did you really?
[39:46] Jess McAnally: Yes, I did.
[39:46] Alan Seales: I feel like that sums it up.
[39:50] Jess McAnally: I feel like that's all the proof you need, kids.
[39:53] Alan Seales: Also, I finished the movie and then drove to a liquor store to buy shit for later this week.
[39:59] Jess McAnally: Did your boyfriend watch it with you?
[40:01] Alan Seales: No, he was at work.
[40:03] Jess McAnally: So I watched it by myself.
[40:05] Alan Seales: No, that's why you didn't like it.
[40:07] Jess McAnally: See, date night movie.
[40:08] Alan Seales: Yeah, we watched a rom-com last night.
[40:12] Jess McAnally: We watched The Other Zoe on Amazon Prime.
[40:16] Alan Seales: It was perfectly fine.
[40:18] Jess McAnally: I didn't hate it.
[40:19] Alan Seales: Do you want a good, so bad that's good rom-com recommendation and actually good?
[40:23] Jess McAnally: Is it called Little Italy?
[40:24] Alan Seales: I've already seen it.
[40:25] Jess McAnally: No, no, no.
[40:26] Alan Seales: I know you've seen Little Italy.
[40:27] Jess McAnally: I love Little Italy.
[40:28] Alan Seales: So if you like Glenn Powell being in a bad movie, watch Anyone But You.
[40:32] Jess McAnally: I've already seen Anyone But You.
[40:35] Alan Seales: It's fine.
[40:36] Jess McAnally: What do you think of the urethra penis close-up?
[40:39] Alan Seales: What?
[40:39] Jess McAnally: Oh, I forgot that happened.
[40:41] Alan Seales: What are you talking about?
[40:43] Jess McAnally: Oh, the Sidney Sweeney Glenn Powell movie is based on Much Ado About Nothing that came out in theaters like early last year, early this year.
[40:50] Alan Seales: Yeah, and then there's a man that shows his urethra on the camera. I'm pretty sure that happens.
[40:55] Jess McAnally: Yeah, it's a weird movie.
[40:57] Alan Seales: It's fine.
[40:57] Jess McAnally: I think Glenn Powell's cute though.
[40:59] Alan Seales: So like, well, have you seen Hitman, which was going to be my second rom-com recommendation?
[41:03] Jess McAnally: I have not seen Hitman.
[41:04] Alan Seales: I do want to see Hitman.
[41:05] Jess McAnally: It's very good.
[41:06] Alan Seales: I will.
[41:07] Jess McAnally: I will remember that.
[41:07] Alan Seales: But also there's a character in Anyone But You that gets a little nakey just to show that they have small boobies so that Sidney Sweeney can have big boobies.
[41:15] Jess McAnally: Sidney Sweeney and her heavy naturals.
[41:19] Alan Seales: What?
[41:21] Jess McAnally: All right.

[41:33] Alan Seales: First, it's Alan.
[41:34] Jess McAnally: Yeah, call me a different iteration of Elizabeth.
[41:37] Alan Seales: You know, I don't care.
[41:38] Jess McAnally: For every five-star review we get from this point forward, Alan is going to have a drawing and give you each 20 crisp dollar bills.
[41:47] Alan Seales: I said, what?
[41:48] Jess McAnally: If you win the raffle, Alan will give you a crisp $20 bill.
[41:52] Alan Seales: Okay, fine.
[41:53] Jess McAnally: Fine.

[42:30] Alan Seales: This episode took a turn.
[42:32] Jess McAnally: I did not expect.

[42:34] Jess McAnally: I'm sorry.
[42:35] Alan Seales: All right.
[42:36] Jess McAnally: Take your big heavy naturals and go home.
[42:39] Alan Seales: D plus outro.
[42:40] Jess McAnally: More like double D plus.
[42:41] Alan Seales: I want to apologize for both of these two on behalf of everyone.
[42:46] Jess McAnally: Wait, on behalf of everyone?
[42:48] Alan Seales: You were apologizing?
[42:49] Jess McAnally: I'm just apologizing on behalf of these two.
[42:51] Alan Seales: Oh, yeah, you can do that.
[42:54] Jess McAnally: Okay, cool.
[42:55] Alan Seales: Yeah.
[42:55] Jess McAnally: Yeah.
[42:56] Alan Seales: Just for everyone.
[42:57] Jess McAnally: I accept.
[42:57] Alan Seales: Roll that outro music.
