[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.

[0:09] Aman: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.

[0:18] Andrew: Glacket by Glacket, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.

[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.

[0:35] Andrew: It's Glyvestream, Glyvestream. Gotta get down on this month's Glyvestream.

[0:41] Andrew: Everybody's looking forward to Glacket, Glacket. Aman, how are you doing?

[0:48] Aman: Yes, I am well. I am super excited to be back. It's always a fantastic time here at Gleek of the Week, so I'm just excited to get back into it.

[1:00] Andrew: Oh my god, likewise. I do have to, I know that we're starting in good spirits and I don't want to damper anything right off the jump, but there have been some Gleeks that have been kind of tarnishing your name in recent weeks.

[1:13] Andrew: They've been saying that every time that Aman is on the Glacket, he, I don't know what the exact verbiage is, but you just stir things up in a, I would say, they're saying in a negative way.

[1:27] Andrew: They're like, Aman, every time he comes on, he stirs things up in a bad way. And so of course, I was like, well, we need to have him back.

[1:35] Aman: Oh, okay. Well, if y'all want something stirred, well, I can bring my immersion blender, okay? We can make it happen. I ain't scared.

[1:47] Andrew: I don't know exactly what people were pointing to, but I'm like, I feel like Aman hasn't even been on that much for him to like-

[1:53] Aman: Yeah, I haven't been on in like months! What more could I have done?

[1:56] Andrew: They've been thinking about you rent-free in the Gleeks' minds.

[2:02] Aman: Wow.

[2:03] Andrew: But I just wanted to let you know in a live format.

[2:08] Aman: Interesting.

[2:09] Andrew: This is how the Gleeks be feeling about you.

[2:10] Aman: I'm gonna need to be pulling up in these Patreons, because I'm a patron, so I'm gonna be rolling in.

[2:16] Aman: And when I see my name pop up, I'm gonna have some words.

[2:20] Andrew: You gotta defend your name.

[2:21] Aman: Okay.

[2:22] Andrew: Speaking of defending your name, speaking of defending Glacket, I don't even know what the segue is, but okay.

[2:28] Andrew: Glacket Opinions, it's been a hot minute since your last appearance.

[2:32] Aman: Yes.

[2:32] Andrew: You're scrolling through the Glacket, I take it. Are there any competitions that strike you as incorrect?

[2:39] Aman: I am trying to- the Glacket is being very- oh, here it is, okay.

[2:43] Aman: It was being very confrontational on my phone for a second.

[2:46] Aman: I'm trying to get down- how do I know that I'm at the current-

[2:52] Aman: Oh, around three.

[2:54] Andrew: Okay.

[2:54] Aman: At the top of the bottom.

[2:56] Aman: Is the episode title- is the first one Glancel and Gretel?

[3:00] Andrew: Glancel and Gretel, yes.

[3:01] Aman: Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.

[3:03] Aman: So Bills, Bills, Bills.

[3:07] Aman: That's fine.

[3:07] Aman: Totally comes to the heart.

[3:08] Aman: Bills, Bills, Bills.

[3:09] Aman: That's fine.

[3:10] Aman: Maybe this time versus Time Warp.

[3:13] Aman: That's fine.

[3:14] Aman: Okay, okay.

[3:15] Aman: My favorite-

[3:16] Aman: It's like getting my tests graded right in front of me.

[3:19] Aman: Don't stop believing versus favorite things.

[3:23] Aman: It's season one, version one, I'm assuming?

[3:26] Andrew: Yes, yeah.

[3:27] Aman: Wait, is that the one that you have an issue with?

[3:29] Andrew: That's- no, that one's fine.

[3:31] Aman: I just had to make sure it was the right don't stop believing because Amber Riley's voice on my favorite things, like, come on now.

[3:38] Andrew: Oh, it is- it is good.

[3:41] Aman: I agree with the rumor hazard over Valerie.

[3:44] Aman: Season two, express yourself over without you.

[3:50] Aman: I mean, all of these-

[3:54] Aman: I don't know about Broadway baby over applause.

[3:57] Andrew: Oh, no.

[4:00] Aman: This is where you lose me.

[4:01] Aman: Broadway baby, so important to me.

[4:05] Andrew: Broadway baby is okay.

[4:08] Aman: It's very much turning in your assignment at the very last minute, both, I think, plot-wise and song-wise.

[4:15] Aman: But if y'all like it, I love it.

[4:18] Aman: I just love what Kevin McHale does at the end of applause.

[4:20] Andrew: Oh, it's so good.

[4:22] Aman: It's really good.

[4:24] Aman: Also, Kevin McHale himself is pointing to that as one of his favorite vocals from the show as well.

[4:29] Aman: And so it's like, it's good.

[4:30] Aman: It's good company.

[4:31] Aman: The, you know, everybody who absolutely ate it up.

[4:35] Aman: Yeah, Smooth Criminal versus Human Nature.

[4:37] Andrew: Oh, that one hurt me bad.

[4:39] Aman: Oh, God.

[4:41] Aman: Um, okay.

[4:44] Aman: Oh, my God.

[4:45] Aman: That's a hard one.

[4:46] Aman: So I won't begrudge either choice.

[4:49] Aman: I think Smooth Criminal is a fine choice.

[4:51] Aman: Human Nature is so beautiful, though.

[4:52] Andrew: Oh, no, it's really good.

[4:53] Aman: That was a- it was a hard decision for me.

[4:55] Aman: But then I remember, like, Gleeks were, like, upset that they were like, it's an obvious choice.

[4:58] Aman: And I'm like, no, I want to pay respect to Human Nature.

[5:03] Aman: That's not obvious.

[5:05] Andrew: Okay, Blame It On The Alcohol won over It's Not Unusual.

[5:07] Aman: And I love both of those songs.

[5:09] Andrew: Oh, I know.

[5:10] Aman: You know, Blame It On The Alcohol is, like, one of my favorite episodes of Glee ever.

[5:14] Aman: So the fact that it's titular song won, I'm not mad about it at all.

[5:18] Andrew: Doing well.

[5:19] Aman: Uh, Love Shack and- oh, that landslide, of course.

[5:22] Andrew: Of course, of course.

[5:23] Aman: Okay, so a lot of these seem to be pretty-

[5:25] Andrew: Pretty good, yeah.

[5:27] Aman: It's a passing grade.

[5:28] Andrew: Yeah, I would say y'all have been doing well while I've been away.

[5:32] Aman: Okay, all right.

[5:33] Aman: Maybe it ends now.

[5:34] Andrew: It ends tonight.

[5:35] Aman: Um, perfect.

[5:37] Andrew: How are things going on Diary Room?

[5:41] Aman: Diary Room is great.

[5:43] Aman: Um, once again, shout out to Andrew and shout out to Gleek of the Week for inspiring the Big Brother version of this podcast.

[5:51] Aman: I- it has been fantastic.

[5:53] Aman: Want to also share that a listener of this podcast has started using the same format as well with Taylor Swift songs, the Swaggits.

[6:01] Andrew: Oh, wow.

[6:02] Aman: And so, um, this entire format, it's always really great to see that it has legs across, uh, I guess franchises or brands.

[6:11] Aman: And so I'm very happy that the Diary Room is thriving.

[6:15] Andrew: Is there anything for the Big Brother fans that you would like to, I guess, like a moment that you would like to highlight that they could go check out over there?

[6:24] Aman: Oh, a moment that you can highlight.

[6:25] Aman: I mean, we're definitely having a great slew of Big Brother alumni guests right now because we tend to go between, we like to have our patrons on the show.

[6:36] Aman: We like to have our fellow podcasters that also cover the show as well.

[6:41] Aman: But for the past few weeks, we've been having quite a few Big Brother alumni guests.

[6:46] Aman: So I would say over the next few weeks, you're up for some surprises.

[6:50] Aman: If you're already in the Patreon, you kind of already know who they are.

[6:53] Aman: It's going to be very exciting as we are lining it up with the, um, uh, premiere.

[7:00] Aman: It's premiere week for Big Brother 27.

[7:01] Andrew: So it's a lot of Big Brother stuff going on.

[7:03] Aman: But, um, yeah, it's, uh, I would say just check them all out.

[7:06] Aman: There's been quite a few upsets, quite a few, um, interesting moments on the podcast.

[7:12] Aman: I have been, I mean, y'all dragging me over here.

[7:14] Aman: It's probably nothing compared to what they're doing over to me over there.

[7:17] Andrew: Okay.

[7:18] Andrew: Wait, has it happened that like, uh, a Big Brother contestant has been on when they've been pulled in the episode?

[7:23] Aman: It has not.

[7:27] Aman: I literally just got done recording an episode though, with one where that was very close to happening.

[7:33] Andrew: Okay.

[7:34] Aman: Very close.

[7:37] Aman: From, from, from her, like she almost got chosen as she was a guest on the show.

[7:42] Aman: So, but it hasn't happened.

[7:45] Aman: We wanted it to happen, but it has not happened.

[7:47] Andrew: Go check out Diary Room.

[7:50] Aman: Um, with that, how are we feeling generally just about the hit box show Glee?

[7:54] Aman: Do you, do you, do you miss it at all talking about it on like such a regular basis?

[7:59] Andrew: I do from time to time.

[8:01] Andrew: Like it, I feel like Glee is always just one, it's just like a, it's like a chronic itch.

[8:05] Andrew: Like it, um, I'll go months and months without really, you know, consuming any Glee content.

[8:12] Andrew: And then one thing will remind me of something.

[8:14] Andrew: And the next thing I know I'm back down the rabbit hole of listening to just strictly Glee music for a number of days, watching old clips, going on the Reddit, going on Twitter, and just talking to Glee fans.

[8:29] Aman: Yeah.

[8:29] Aman: I feel like I have a negative experience on that Reddit.

[8:32] Aman: That Reddit can be really scary.

[8:35] Andrew: Do you not feel that way when you go on?

[8:37] Aman: I mean, I guess maybe I don't spend a lot of time on the Reddit.

[8:40] Aman: So maybe I'm just like, I'm missing all the bad parts, but like every time I'm on there, it's kind of, I feel like I'm typically going, whenever I'm going on the Glee Reddit, I'm going to see if anyone specifically has a similar thought or question about the show that I do, or I guess like a very curated experience.

[8:56] Aman: But for the most part, yeah, like I, it's been relatively okay for me.

[8:59] Andrew: Yeah.

[8:59] Aman: Well, I think maybe from an observer, I feel like every time that I like post something like someone finds the, like the one, like disagreement thing to like in my post is like, actually this, this entire thing is wrong.

[9:15] Aman: And I'm like, oh my God, can you guys have fun, please?

[9:19] Andrew: But okay.

[9:20] Andrew: So in terms of this recording right now, four songs will be pulled.

[9:26] Andrew: What are you manifesting in terms of performances?

[9:30] Aman: Oh my God. It's hard to know because I'm still a little behind in my listening.

[9:34] Aman: So I don't know where we are.

[9:36] Aman: We're in, we're in round three.

[9:39] Aman: I feel like we're like a past, maybe like nearing like a third through round three.

[9:46] Andrew: And so things are getting contested.

[9:53] Aman: Is Alfie still in?

[9:58] Andrew: No.

[9:59] Aman: You asked this.

[9:59] Andrew: I'm not to drag you.

[10:01] Aman: You asked this.

[10:04] Aman: It's because every time you tell me no, I repress it.

[10:06] Andrew: No, no, no.

[10:07] Aman: I feel so bad having to reveal to you every single time that Alfie is not in the competition.

[10:12] Aman: I have Alfie Alzheimer's.

[10:13] Andrew: Oh my God.

[10:15] Aman: But like, okay, wait, wait, wait. We need to talk about Alfie for a second piece.

[10:17] Andrew: Yes.

[10:18] Aman: The Santana version of Alfie.

[10:20] Aman: Very, very beautiful.

[10:21] Aman: However, I already know what you're about to ask.

[10:23] Aman: And the question is no.

[10:25] Andrew: Wait, what do you think I'm going to ask?

[10:27] Aman: Are you about to ask me how I feel about Cynthia Erivo's recent rendition of Alfie?

[10:33] Andrew: Yeah, of course.

[10:34] Aman: Of course.

[10:34] Aman: I mean, like, I do think that that is the version of Alfie.

[10:40] Aman: That is the one that we can all go to now.

[10:43] Andrew: Yes?

[10:45] Aman: Not to put you on the spot like this.

[10:46] Aman: This is so rude.

[10:47] Andrew: I guess.

[10:49] Aman: I love Cynthia Erivo, okay? Don't make me drag her right now.

[10:53] Aman: I just.

[10:56] Aman: I just.

[10:58] Andrew: Okay, we don't need to drag.

[11:00] Aman: Wait, are you tempted to drag Cynthia Erivo?

[11:04] Aman: Not really.

[11:04] Aman: I'm just being dramatic.

[11:05] Aman: I'm just.

[11:07] Aman: Because I'm like, I actually kind of want to hear this opinion now, because it's not a popular opinion to drag her.

[11:14] Aman: You know, I just sometimes I find some of Cynthia's performances just a little.

[11:21] Aman: I don't know. It just sounds like, because I'm a nobody, right? Like, who am I in the grand conversation of the vocalists of our time?

[11:26] Aman: I think that Cynthia Erivo is extremely talented.

[11:29] Aman: But sometimes I find a few of her performances just a little hollow.

[11:33] Aman: Just a little.

[11:35] Andrew: And are we pointing to Alfie as one of them?

[11:39] Aman: Maybe?

[11:40] Andrew: No, that's insane.

[11:41] Aman: That's crazy.

[11:42] Aman: Not to say that your opinion that you have created yourself is crazy, but it is.

[11:48] Aman: I'd have to watch it.

[11:50] Aman: I will go on to say that saying that I've only seen it twice.

[11:52] Aman: And I'm a little biased, obviously.

[11:54] Aman: So I won't make that judgment now.

[11:56] Aman: But yeah, I you know, I there are just sometimes where I'm like, this feels like very, this feels very canned to me.

[12:04] Andrew: Wow, because there are some other performances of Cynthia's that I absolutely melt for.

[12:10] Aman: Like, there are some songs where she is just absolutely in her bag.

[12:14] Aman: This is her song.

[12:15] Aman: This is hers.

[12:16] Andrew: And then there are others.

[12:18] Aman: What are you talking about?

[12:20] Aman: Um, I mean, I think I think obviously I'm here is from The Color Purple, I think is absolutely Cynthia's song.

[12:27] Aman: And, you know, I love my girl Adina.

[12:34] Aman: But what Cynthia does with I'm Not That Girl?

[12:38] Andrew: Oh, I thought you were gonna say Wizard and I.

[12:40] Aman: I think that that is kind of the version of Wizard and I for me.

[12:44] Aman: I still prefer Adina's over Cynthia's.

[12:45] Andrew: Oh, we're not seeing eye to eye on any of these.

[12:49] Aman: Um, yeah, I just think that what she does with I'm Not That Girl is just so it made me appreciate the songs in ways that I didn't even know were possible.

[12:58] Aman: So yeah, you'll never hear me say that I don't think Cynthia is talented.

[13:02] Aman: I think she's one of the most talented singers I've ever heard.

[13:04] Andrew: You have a nuanced opinion about Cynthia Erivo, which I just don't think that all of her performances are.

[13:07] Aman: I think some of them are just not for her.

[13:11] Andrew: And that's and that's okay.

[13:12] Aman: And that's and that's okay, actually.

[13:14] Andrew: All right.

[13:15] Aman: So in terms of songs that we're manifesting, we're manifesting Alfie, which has not been around since 2022, I believe.

[13:24] Aman: I'm sorry, but I'm just also speaking like generally, is there generally something that you would like?

[13:30] Aman: Maybe a big group number.

[13:35] Aman: I want some season two stuff.

[13:36] Aman: Whatever is left in season two, give it to me because I love season two.

[13:40] Aman: Also, whatever is left in season four, specifically season four New Directions numbers, because I think that those are largely underrated.

[13:47] Aman: So if none of them are even in group bracket three, I'm not going to be surprised.

[13:51] Aman: But those I really feel like they were in their bag with season four so much so that Chris Colfer and Lea Michele and Naya Rivera would be like, yeah, like y'all are getting some bomb ass numbers.

[14:08] Aman: And here we are singing like Chopsticks, like what's going on?

[14:12] Aman: So so, yeah, I'm I'm excited for for for those general areas as well.

[14:18] Andrew: OK, all right.

[14:19] Andrew: I'll see what I can do.

[14:20] Andrew: And and now we are going to introduce.

[14:24] Andrew: I'm sorry.

[14:24] Andrew: Give me some give me some some some New York era of season five, because I'm still the New York era champion of season five.

[14:32] Aman: It's so good.

[14:33] Aman: It's so good.

[14:34] Aman: It's so good! It's so good! I'm trying to think like what, like you're talking about like five B or just five, just generally. Like when we say goodbye to when they move, I'm trying to think like what is from New York onwards?

[14:53] Keely: Right, right, right. I'm trying to think like what is still left from that era because I know like "Tested" was what, that last time I was here?

[14:59] Aman: "Do Up That Thing" is still around.

[15:03] Keely: You're absolutely correct, and it could be pulled again with you. So, okay, that's a good shout. Now we're going to bring in our first Gleek of this recording, Keely. Hello!

[15:11] Keely: Hello! Oh my god, Keely! I saw you in the chat saying that like, okay, you are saying, wait, explain this entire like Wicked thing that happened right before Aman came into the recording.

[15:21] Keely: Okay, so I grew up like an hour north of Pittsburgh, and I feel like the only thing anybody went to Pittsburgh for like musical theater-wise was to see Wicked. So the one time you were like, "Oh yeah, I'm from Pittsburgh and I moved to Philly and I've never seen Wicked," I don't know, maybe because you're closer to Pittsburgh, it's like not the cool kid thing to do, but it just kind of hurt my feelings.

[16:00] Aman: Look, I don't know. I just, I will admit I was late to musical theater in general. I really didn't find musical theater as something that I really enjoyed until middle school a little bit, but mostly high school. And by that point, I kind of just did the thing where I did my homework and listened to soundtrack after soundtrack after soundtrack, and that is sort of like where I found a lot of Wicked. But, you know, I don't know, just going to see it just never really crossed my mind. And then the time just goes, and the next thing you know, a movie's coming out, and I'm like, I don't know what to do now. Do I watch the movie first? Do I watch the musical first? I don't know.

[16:36] Keely: Yeah, what did you end up doing?

[16:36] Aman: Thank you! I watched the movie first.

[16:45] Keely: Okay, I did. And but have you seen, I don't think that I'm going to allow that to color how I feel about the stage show. I feel like I could probably, I could easily walk out of there being like, the musical is going to be the version of Wicked no matter what. So, you know, I, I'm not, I will not be a Wicked film truther. I don't think that's going to happen.

[17:07] Aman: I think that I am a Wicked film truther at this point. I've seen Wicked on stage before seeing the movie, and now after seeing the movie, and I'm like, we got Wicked at home. We could watch it at home.

[17:20] Keely: Like wait, Keely, where do you stand on it? I need to wait for part two, especially because they're saying that they added more stuff. And I thought what they added to part one was fine. Like they didn't ruin anything. So like I'm nervous for part two, especially with two new songs. I'm just like, oh god, what's gonna happen? Because I'm a stage truther, so I just, I'm very nervous. I'll give it a chance, but I am skeptical.

[17:46] Aman: I didn't, I, before, okay, so I saw like Wicked probably like three times like over the course of my life before seeing the movie, and then I saw the movie. And like, my recollection of the second act is that like it wasn't as good as the first act and like it was like kind of like not good. But like after seeing it recently, I was like, oh, the second act, there is a lot here. I mean, I'm curious to see as well like how they build it out. But yeah, I don't know. I guess we'll have to see come November. Cynthia's "No Good Deed" is gonna go crazy.

[18:27] Keely: I know! I'm thinking about that! Thank goodness! Thank goodness! That's gonna be, I know, I know! I'm waiting for the, there are, you didn't know, like I'm so excited for that. Like Ariana, you better eat it up, girl, because Cynthia got you in that first half, okay? You gotta, you gotta, you gotta give it to her in the second half. Come on!

[18:46] Keely: No, it literally comes out on my 30th birthday.

[18:54] Aman: Oh wow! And so what a gift! What a gift!

[19:03] Keely: Um, Keely, enough about Wicked. We are here to Glackett today, and I would like to know what grievances you have with the Glackett.

[19:10] Keely: I'm much better prepared this time than I was last time, and some of these might be controversial, but I'm going to share them anyway. I think "Paradise" versus "Survivor," I will survive, right? Even if Paradise went to hell, I'm not a "Paradise" by the dashboard light. I don't know, it's kind of lengthy, but...

[19:38] Aman: Which wording to use for that?

[19:38] Keely: But yeah, I mean, it's good, but I don't think it's the winner of the Glackett like a bunch of other people think.

[19:43] Aman: Okay, and you say you're okay with the decision of "Survivor, I Will Survive"?

[19:50] Keely: Yeah, you know, winning over... yeah, like even Paradise died for real because it got voted back in.

[19:56] Aman: It did! It could be in this very episode!

[20:05] Keely: Yes! And I'm also tired, as I'm a Sue Sylvester fan, I'm tired of people talking shit on "Bitch." I think it's a cinematic masterpiece, okay? And that's the one solo left, yeah, and it's great. I don't know, I think it really brings it back that Glee is a satire.

[20:21] Aman: Oh no, yeah, so you don't want it to die in round three. You would like to see it continue on for rounds to come.

[20:29] Keely: Yeah, but like I understand what has to go. Like I don't think it would win the Glackett, but I'm just tired of people being mean to her.

[20:39] Aman: Okay, being bitchy to "Bitch."

[20:39] Keely: Yeah, exactly.

[20:48] Keely: I'm tired of the Christmas music. I think "Christmas Wrapping" is still here, and "Christmas Wrapping" is the only Christmas song left. It needs to die. I think it's just from working retail. I absolutely cannot stand that song. Heather Morris did a great job, but the song is just a terrible composition that should have never happened to Christmas.

[21:04] Aman: Oh, okay.

[21:12] Keely: My mouth was agape during that entire thing. What do you have to say about that?

[21:21] Aman: Christmas music from Glee is some of the best Christmas music that there is.

[21:29] Keely: Oh, that's so... I am saddened by the fact that "Christmas Wrapping" is the last of its kind because I feel like there are many more superior Glee Christmas covers. But if that has to be the one that's still here, then so be it. I do want to share that there were only three Christmas songs to make it to round three, and the other two have already been kicked out, and they were "Last Christmas" and "Baby It's Cold Outside." And so we haven't seen "Christmas Wrapping" yet. We'll see what happens to her.

[22:01] Aman: Yeah, like I mean, I respect a lot of the other Glee Christmas songs, but "Christmas Wrapping" is just not it. So Christmas just needs to see its way out of the Glackett.

[22:06] Keely: And wait, are we saying, okay, wait, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" versus "Christmas Wrapping"? Where do you stand on that one?

[22:14] Aman: I would probably pick "Paradise by the Dashboard Light."

[22:19] Keely: Okay, okay. Because like I'm not a hater, I just, I don't get the hype as everybody else does.

[22:24] Aman: Sure, all right. I think "Barracuda" should have won over season five "Keep Holding On." Don't know how controversial that is, but I did scroll through the Glackett to find my grievances, and I don't know, I would have rather had the original "Keep Holding On." But also, I am re-watching season one right now, and I finally started recovering Gleek five years later, so they're also on season one. So I'm in a very like season one mood, so there could be some bias there. But I think "Barracuda" is better than the season five "Keep Holding On." "Barracuda," just like the entire, I've already explained this in the past when talking about "Barracuda," but the entire scene surrounding it of Rachel being like, "My new best gay," I'm just like, "Barracuda" unfortunately is part of that package for me, and I'm just like, "We gotta get rid of 'Barracuda.'" And so I think it's beautiful, beautiful vocals. Of course, you can't go wrong with those two vocalists. However, that's really distracting to me personally.

[23:29] Keely: The baggage, I didn't write what it was up against, but it was recent. Oh, I said "Time Warp" should have won over "Maybe This Time."

[23:38] Aman: Okay, yeah.

[23:38] Keely: I don't know, the family of it all, it's more fun than "This Time."

[23:47] Aman: Pause with that one.

[23:47] Keely: Yes, I did for a second, and then I was like, "Aman, you're on crack." Maybe "This Time" has to go through. It's really good.

[23:53] Aman: Yeah, it's really important to me.

[23:59] Keely: No, but if that was like, it was the season three round three premiere episode, and I mean, they both are really two beautiful girls. You got the Diana vocal and you also get that K-10 Leah vocal, you know? And so it's just like, who's to say?

[24:11] Aman: Yeah, and a decision needed to be made. Damn.

[24:18] Keely: And then my last one, "Broadway Baby" should literally go to hell. I just have personal trauma with that song, so I don't get why everybody likes it. I'm just so tired of, not everybody clearly, I'm on...

[24:23] Aman: I am with you.

[24:31] Keely: Yeah! Oh yay! But I'm so glad that she's safe in round four right now. Is it even up against? Oh yeah, it was against "Applause." Yeah, that's crazy. I think "Applause" should win, but I also just have personal trauma with "Broadway Baby," and it needs to go away.

[24:43] Aman: Okay, damn. All right, I'm again very glad that she's safe. What are we manifesting today with this competition? Last time I was here, I had a very strong mid-off. I had "Superstition" versus "Telephone." It was just a very lame competition. I want to argue or even just have one where I have a very controversial opinion.

[25:06] Keely: Okay, "Superstition" won.

[25:14] Aman: Yes, yeah, because I was just like family over two girls singing in the bathroom. I don't know.

[25:22] Keely: Sure.

[25:22] Aman: Okay, let's see what we got. All right, this one's coming out.

[25:36] Keely: Oh my gosh, come on, you got your wish!

[25:42] Aman: I gotta get ready.

[25:42] Keely: I'm nervous. It is a group number.

[25:42] Aman: Yes, okay, New Directions.

[25:53] Keely: Okay, is it "Mamma Mia"? Is it? It is "Mamma Mia"!

[25:53] Aman: Okay, yeah, yay! I love that!

[26:09] Aman: What are you thinking, "Mamma Mia"?

[26:09] Aman: I love "Mamma Mia." It's so fun and so feel-good, and the closing numbers from the New Directions in season four in particular are some of my best, my most favorite group numbers of all time. I think they were really strong with closing episodes in that season for whatever reason. I don't think that all of these songs were necessarily the, you know, some of them felt a little disjointed from the story, some of them felt a little thrown in there, but I'm still happy that a lot of them exist nonetheless. "Mamma Mia" is one of them. It's just such a fun, light song. You get to see bits and pieces of each of the characters' personalities, and yeah, to hear the NY3 with the rest of the New Directions was always just a nice way to connect the show together.

I just really, really enjoy that song and all of the key moments within it. I think that Melissa sounds great, I think that Alex obviously sounds great, I think that Leah sounds great, everybody sounds mother effing great on this track. It's so good! And also, like, I feel like two characters that like don't even like interact, like Rachel and Unique, that it's like, it's so nice to just like have these like few and far between songs where it's like you can say that Leah Michelle is on the track and you can also say that Alex Newell is on the track, and it's just very, very important to me.

[27:42] Keely: Um, I know we said this a couple weeks ago with the "You Can't Stop the Beat." I just, yeah, the slow beginnings just knock off a couple points for me, but other than that...

[27:49] Aman: You don't like it?

[27:49] Keely: No, there's no reason. It was cute with them sitting there with their little boyfriend pillows, and it was all slow, but yeah, I don't know. I could do without it. Like, let's just get through the song.

[28:01] Aman: Is this one worse for you than "You Can't Stop the Beat," or how do they fall for you?

[28:06] Keely: Um, I'd say this one's better.

[28:14] Aman: Okay. I love the costumes, and just the Unique vocal is always so solid.

[28:23] Keely: Yeah, really needed more.

[28:29] Aman: Yeah, they all look, as always, so good. I feel like I don't really have too much to say about this. I remember in round two this one over "Dreams," which I know that people were upset about. Do you have any feelings about that, either of you?

[28:38] Keely: I think I'm fine with that. I mean, obviously love a Christian channel with a little cameo right there and there, but no, I think that this is just much stronger and much more of a personality piece for the season for New Directions.

[28:49] Aman: Yeah, and so yeah, I just think that it's definitely superior. I love the part where Kitty like takes Artie's face, the motorboat.

[29:01] Keely: Yeah, so good!

[29:08] Aman: I do feel like as I was watching this performance, I was thinking about the guilty pleasures that they do have in this episode. I don't know, are they actually ashamed of the fact that they like ABBA? That kind of is lost on me, that opinion.

[29:25] Keely: Yeah, some of the guilty pleasures in the episode, I was like, doesn't just about everybody like Mamma Mia? Except maybe some theater snobs that are like, Mamma Mia's not that great because I'm a theater snob, but I don't know.

[29:38] Aman: Right, but also even Spice Girls. I'm like, this is actually our generation. We liked Spice Girls as children, and it still holds up. Why are you ashamed of liking Spice Girls?

[29:55] Keely: Maybe the people that are a little above us, maybe the youngest of Gen X, maybe Spice Girls was a no-no for them? I don't know.

[30:05] Aman: Some of them made sense, like the fact that Chris Brown had an entire moment in the episode, that made sense as a guilty pleasure, but the other ones, like Barry Manilow, obviously a replacement for Taylor Swift, and I do think that Taylor Swift would have worked better for Sam. But yeah, I don't know. Interesting. Anything else to say about Mamma Mia? I'm very nervous as to what might come next, because while I do love it, I know that it's certainly beatable, so...

[30:42] Keely: Let's see. It's going to be this one. Ooh, this is interesting competition. Okay, season three.

[30:51] Aman: Okay.

[30:52] Keely: You've seen it?

[30:53] Aman: Okay, I think so.

[30:56] Keely: Season three finale?

[30:59] Aman: Okay.

[31:00] Keely: Okay, we're getting specific with it.

[31:03] Aman: I'm so scared.

[31:05] Keely: We're looking at audio medium. We're looking at hands on the keyboard from the season three finale.

[31:10] Aman: Is this that one song? Oh, I don't know the name of it. It's the song that's like, um...

[31:20] Keely: No, no, no.

[31:25] Aman: We Give?

[31:26] Keely: We Give. That's not that.

[31:29] Aman: I'm scrolling through the list, but they don't have the right... Is it We Are Young?

[31:35] Keely: We Are Young? No, that's earlier in season three.

[31:38] Aman: That's earlier in season three.

[31:40] Keely: It had the right album cover.

[31:42] Aman: Oh, you're looking at the graduational album. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay, are you ready for the reveal?

[31:48] Keely: I can't think of what... I can't think of the other songs in this episode besides Roots Before Branches and...

[31:53] Aman: I would be surprised if you do remember this song as it is.

[32:01] Keely: I'll remember.

[32:02] Aman: Oh!

[32:05] Keely: No, this is good!

[32:07] Aman: Okay, um, I'm gonna start the discourse on this because I already feel that... Am I correct in saying that we are not vibing with this song?

[32:19] Keely: I know! Not all at once!

[32:24] Aman: I, no, look, I mean, obviously, you know, it's a cute moment. It's, um, story-wise, you know, it's a nice way to kick off the episode just to set the tone for saying goodbye, remembering the last three years. So, yeah, I get it, but definitely not... I did not remember. I did not remember!

[32:50] Keely: Exactly.

[32:51] Aman: I, okay, this... Okay, I'm looking at, because I saw in the chat, like, what songs this beat in the past two rounds. In round one, it won against Big Ass Heart. Kind of a setup with that one. And in round two, it won against Sway. So, it's kind of had an easy pack up until now. But I will say that there are a few songs that I wasn't streaming when Glee was airing that, like, I was like, oh, I could do without this. You know, there are bigger fish to fry, there are bigger songs to listen to. I'm not vibing with it. And this is certainly one of them, that it wasn't until the past few years that I'll remember, really, I was like, ooh, actually watch this space. It's a really beautiful vocal, and it's a really important colo to me.

And I like it. I understand how this vote's going to go. I just want to pay my respects, of course, to I'll Remember. I don't think that... I think that people are hating on it, frankly, too much. I'm seeing the chat, and they're like, Snooze, it's good.

[34:03] Keely: Yeah, I mean, I definitely streamed this when it was out, and I just kind of forgot about it. Like Amon said, he kind of stole my joke. And the background vocals are really good, too. I mean, along with Kurtz, but it is great. Everybody sounds great, but it's just not that fun. Also, just, what was Sugar wearing? She's, like, dressed up like a sailor? Like, sailor Sugar? She's about to get on a sailboat, summer break.

[34:35] Aman: Oh, true, she is right. She's dressed for whatever her daddy can afford, honey, which is everything. I don't know, just like that ending, like the little whisper, I'll remember, it's just so cringe to me. I don't know, I can't get behind the little whispers.

[34:43] Keely: No, it actually, I agree. But yeah, I mean, it's a great vocal, but I just don't think it's ready for round four. I think Kurt has a lot of these numbers where it's a cute moment because his character is so sympathetic, right? And I think that his character in particular called for a lot of these types of sentimental performances that are much more vocal forward, singing his heart out to his classmates to convey some type of deep emotional breakthrough or crossover. And this is just another one of the many.

[35:23] Aman: But then, like, this might be controversial, but then towards the end, he gets, like, some weird stuff, like when he does Story of My Life and, like, the whole story arc with What's Her Face?

[35:36] Keely: With Shirley MacLaine.

[35:37] Aman: Yes, yeah, with Shirley MacLaine. Like, those songs are just, like, aggressively on the other side of, like, not being Kurt. Like, they're not even sentimental, but also, like, this is totally a topic for a different day. But, like, why would you sing Story of My Life to a bunch of rich old people? Like, I don't know, that wouldn't be my first preference.

[36:02] Keely: Fantastic point. What happens to the Kurt song choices as the series progresses? Because not only Story of My Life, I'm also thinking about, like, the fact that it was, like, it is Kurt's idea to sing American Boy in the season five finale.

[36:11] Aman: Yeah, like that.

[36:12] Keely: And I'm like, that's in your wheelhouse, Kurt? I don't know about that.

[36:17] Aman: And again, like, for a bunch of rich old people, like, I don't know. I would be picking the show tunes for them.

[36:25] Keely: Well, American Boy was, like, kind of, like, stick it to the man, where they were like, well, we're going to be together and no rich Shirley MacLaine is going to tear us apart, so let's sing American Boy at them. But Story of My Life was to impress them, which, yeah, I completely agree.

[36:43] Aman: Also, not that it's my glock, but I liked Alyssa's comment in the chat that said, can we knock this one out and bring back I Want to Hold Your Hand? Just a shout out to that. That was actually my wedding song and my anniversary's tomorrow. So it is kind of weird that that's not in the glocket.

[36:57] Keely: Wait, wait, wait, are you talking about the Gleecast version by the Gleecast or the Beatles version by Gleecast?

[37:03] Aman: Gleecast version by Gleecast.

[37:04] Keely: Oh, okay.

[37:05] Aman: We are not Beatles. Stance in this house might be controversial, but...

[37:08] Keely: Wait, that's so beautiful.

[37:10] Aman: Kurt Cummels stance? Definitely.

[37:12] Keely: Happy anniversary as well.

[37:15] Aman: Thank you.

[37:17] Keely: Yeah, speaking of kolos, only three kolos, I believe, if I'm not mistaken, correct me in the chat if I'm mistaken, but I believe only three kolos got to round three, and this was one of them, obviously. The other two were Being Alive and Rose's Turn. Being Alive is already confirmed in round four, but Rose's Turn, still to be determined. But of course, rooting for that girl. She's iconic.

[37:47] Aman: Yeah, she's kind of the one.

[37:48] Keely: Very much in the back of the conversation in the musical theatre right now as well.

[37:52] Aman: Speaking of that, where did, just speaking of kolos, where did some people go? I lowkey love Gypsy, so I know some people probably did not go far.

[38:04] Keely: Some people lost to Up, Up, Up in round one. I am looking at the voting history, and I think Up, Up, Up was the only person that voted for some people, so.

[38:19] Aman: I mean, Up, Up, Up is like the wheelchair one with Quinn and Artie, right?

[38:29] Keely: I guess visually, it's probably cooler, but I don't know.

[38:32] Aman: Yeah, no, I feel bad. Some people, I love. It's great. The little sister of Rose's Turn, I feel.

[38:40] Keely: Exactly, yeah.

[38:42] Aman: Yeah, because I mean, in the show, it does come before Rose's Turn, so that does make sense.

[38:47] Keely: We're leading up to it, yeah. I just want to shout right now that I always feel like when I'm watching the season three finale, that I always feel like Quinn is remissed of a solo in this episode. And big brain alert, I always think that Thank You, Dido, oh, she would have ate that up in this episode. And I don't know. I just I want the universe where I got that.

[39:17] Aman: It really feels like her Never Can Say Goodbye was like her send-off song.

[39:22] Keely: I know. And it was like 10 episodes before the finale. It's like, girl.

[39:26] Aman: Yeah.

[39:27] Keely: I don't know why.

[39:28] Aman: No, we're not there yet. Any final things about I'll Remember Before We Vote?

[39:34] Keely: Not for me.

[39:35] Aman: I'll remember her.

[39:36] Keely: There we go. This joke will never die.

[39:40] Aman: She'll be loved.

[39:43] Keely: Just for the sake of voting, Kaylee, what are you voting for?

[39:47] Keely: I'm voting for Mamma Mia, just because the ensemble numbers will always have a leg up for me, and it's just a lot more fun than I'll remember. But I do love Kurt, but you killed my favorite Kola already, so I might as well make sure he's dead dead, unfortunately.

[40:02] Aman: Sure. Amon, what are you voting for?

[40:06] Aman: Honestly, all about the Mamma Mia, baby. Love the group numbers. Love the ones in season four in particular. So I'm more than happy to vote this one through.

[40:17] Keely: Yeah, for sure.

[40:18] Aman: As much as I want to do a pity vote for I'll Remember, I'm recalling now, of course, the Alex Newell vocals in Mamma Mia. So much fun.

[40:29] Keely: What?

[40:30] Aman: Yeah. It's so good.

[40:32] Keely: Alex, is that you?

[40:35] Aman: Oh my god, Alex in the call? Perfect. Kaylee, was this a better competition than last time?

[40:43] Keely: Definitely, but if I'm invited back for round four, I really want to scrap with people.

[40:49] Aman: Yeah, maybe next time around we'll have a big fight.

[40:52] Keely: But I am at least moving up.

[40:54] Aman: Yeah, I would say this is a better run than Superstition vs. Telephone.

[40:58] Keely: Yeah, definitely.

[41:00] Aman: Well, thank you so much, Kaylee.

[41:02] Keely: Thanks for having me.

[41:04] Aman: Of course. Okay, now we are going to bring in Ethan for the second and final competition.

[41:13] Aman: Ethan?

[41:15] Ethan: Hello.

[41:16] Aman: Hello, how are you doing?

[41:18] Ethan: I'm doing well. How are y'all?

[41:20] Aman: Great. How did you feel about that competition? Did you agree?

[41:25] Ethan: The decision was correct. I do think I was telling that a lot of the discourse between y'all and in the chat was about the clothes.

[41:35] Aman: And I'll remember people talking about Brittany wearing a cardigan even though it's May.

[41:41] Ethan: Right, right, right.

[41:43] Aman: It's confusing. Sugar living her two-sir with love fantasy, cosplaying as Kurt. I think someone said that in the chat.

[41:52] Ethan: Oh, it's perfect, it's perfect.

[41:54] Aman: Yeah.

[41:56] Ethan: So you're okay with the decision that was made?

[41:58] Ethan: I think so. Just Alex Newell's vocals and also just them twirling around in the ISIS wings. It's very special.

[42:05] Aman: What competitions have not sat well with you?

[42:11] Ethan: I have some. I have a list.

[42:14] Aman: Okay, okay, a list. I'd love to hear it.

[42:16] Ethan: Round three I think I've pretty much agreed with a lot. I do think Baby It's Cold Outside. I imagine this is not the last time you're going to hear about it, but I do disagree with that.

[42:27] Aman: Baby It's Cold Outside losing to Teenage Dream Season 4.

[42:30] Ethan: Yes. Season 2 I can understand. Season 4 is where I disagree with it.

[42:36] Aman: People are on either side of the aisle with that one. Aman, where do you, I forget, where do you fall in the Teenage Dream Season 4 of it all?

[42:43] Aman: Wait, what is that against? Teenage Dream?

[42:45] Ethan: Baby It's Cold Outside.

[42:47] Aman: Teenage Dream.

[42:48] Ethan: Okay.

[42:49] Aman: Yeah.

[42:50] Ethan: Teenage Dream, because it's just, Baby It's Cold Outside, There Are A Dime A Dozen, I don't think that Glee really has anything particularly special for this one. Sorry.

[43:01] Aman: It's true, but I think for a lot of us it's more so like the history behind the song and it's their first duet.

[43:07] Ethan: The cultural context of this gay duet, you know, yeah.

[43:14] Aman: It's important.

[43:15] Ethan: But then Teenage Dream Season 4 is about the breaking of all of that.

[43:19] Aman: Oh, yeah.

[43:20] Ethan: And that makes it so much more like...

[43:22] Aman: Queer joy versus queer trauma. Yeah.

[43:27] Ethan: It was a very adult moment. It was part of the breakup. It was just like, you know, I don't know. I go for that more so than Baby It's Cold Outside.

[43:35] Aman: That's fair. I think it's just like the manufactured kind of nature of the breakup also kind of drags it down for me.

[43:43] Andrew: Oh, like the fact that it's, like, the light bulb.

[43:46] Amon: Yeah, right. No, I get that. I understand.

[43:49] Andrew: What other competitions come to mind that didn't sit well with you?

[43:53] Amon: Diva versus Problem.

[43:55] Andrew: I completely agree, and I feel like not enough people are talking about it.

[43:59] Amon: Diva dying to Problem is a problem with me. Like, that's crazy.

[44:07] Andrew: It's, like, really good for, like, being, like, later season, like, the outfits alone.

[44:13] Amon: It's so theatrical. Yes.

[44:16] Andrew: Amon?

[44:17] Amon: I don't know, y'all. As a resident, like, my nickname is Amonse, okay? And I do love Beyonce. I really do. That particular version of Diva, I could just never get behind it. I'm sorry.

[44:31] Amon: I just couldn't. It's not even—I just—I would have much rather them to have just done the regular version, because then I would be on your side of it. And the regular version calls for the same type of energy they were giving. I don't know why they went for, like, this house remix of it. Like, it just didn't—it just never really sat well with me. So I'm fine with just giving it to Problem because of the unholy trinity of it all and the grand reunion and these, like, grown-up Cheerios outfits. It just felt very mature and very just, like, oh, these girls have come a long way, whereas Diva just—it's very fun. It's not, it's not like Problem blew out of the water for me, but I understand why people went with Problem over Diva, that's for sure. Okay, so—

[45:12] Andrew: I feel like that's some—sorry, go ahead.

[45:14] Amon: No, go ahead.

[45:16] Andrew: But this takes us on another note, if that's okay.

[45:19] Amon: Sure, go ahead.

[45:20] Andrew: I think, like, something we don't talk about is also, like, when we talk about Glee doing different things, like, sometimes they'll just do, like, a house remix and then karaoke over it. Like, I'm thinking of, like, It's Not Right, But It's Okay, where it's like, Glee didn't really do it differently. They're doing a Thunderpuss remix and then streaming over it. So it's like, is it Glee re-inventing it, or is it, like, them karaoke-ing just to a different version?

[45:46] Amon: Yeah, very good shout. Very good shout. Amon, as a Beyoncé stan, as Amon say, are there Beyoncé covers—I mean, like, I would assume that you're particular about the Beyoncé covers on the show. Are there ones that land for you, that are, like, good in your book?

[46:06] Amon: I, you know, Heather Morris ate it up with Run the World. It doesn't really require a super strong vocal most of the time. It's much more about the energy of the song and the choreography that goes into it, and she absolutely tore that shit up. I'm glad that Lea Michele's version of I Am Here did not really make it to the final cut, because I just don't... Lea, I love you, but no. It wasn't gonna happen for me, sis. I feel like Darren Criss is a little hard on himself when it comes to his Bills, Bills, Bills cover.

[46:41] Amon: Oh, I was gonna pick that one.

[46:43] Amon: He dragged himself over it. And while I don't think that it's, like, I can understand where he's coming from, I'm like, girl, you sound good. Like, you did a pretty decent job. No, I enjoy it. So I would say Bills, Bills, Bills and Run the World probably are some of the best. They don't really have a lot of Beyoncé on their period, because Beyoncé was... This was in the era of Beyoncé being like, keep my name out your mouth, and my music, too.

[47:06] Amon: I'm trying to think, like, okay, so they did the mashup of Crazy in Love, which it does frustrate me that we didn't get an actual true Glee cast version of Crazy in Love. This one was just played for jokes. But what other ones are there?

[47:24] Amon: There was Bootylicious, but that was kind of just all sang in unison. It's kind of a bit of a throwaway.

[47:31] Amon: If I Was a Boy.

[47:33] Andrew: Oh, oh, you know what? Thank you for that, Ethan, because I definitely forgot about Alex, and he does a really good job with that song as well, for sure.

[47:44] Amon: Yes, Halo Walking on Sunshine.

[47:46] Andrew: Yeah.

[47:47] Amon: Oh, that's not one for you.

[47:49] Andrew: These mashups, though, like, why are they doing this? Like, why don't they just... I mean, I get it. Beyoncé is inimitable in a lot of ways. I get it. But sometimes I'm just like, but what was the decision? Like, Hair and Crazy in Love was crazy. Halo and Love and Walking on Sunshine, although I love the song, I feel like I was forced into loving that one. Because it was just so, like, it was so manic that you have no choice but to be like, okay, that was a good performance, right? It was just so crazy.

[48:19] Amon: So crazy.

[48:21] Amon: And lest we forget, Lose My Breath, of course.

[48:25] Andrew: Oh, yes, yes.

[48:27] Amon: Which, still around, could be pulled any moment.

[48:31] Andrew: I do enjoy that, if I'm being honest.

[48:34] Amon: It's fun. It's stupid. I'm coming around to it.

[48:36] Andrew: It's definitely fun. Very, very fun, for sure.

[48:39] Ethan: Um, any other GLAAC aggrievances, Ethan?

[48:43] Ethan: Um, La Isla Bonita from round two, when we don't talk about enough.

[48:50] Amon: That's a stream for you?

[48:53] Ethan: It is. Like, the Ricky Martin and the Santana, I think, it just does something, maybe just because it's the only real kind of Spanish song with a Donna song. I don't know if I'd reach for that frequently. I'll have to give it a re-listen, La Isla Bonita. Maybe because it's like, Ricky Martin's also like, it's his only song besides Sexy and I Know It, which I don't enjoy.

[49:19] Amon: Yeah.

[49:21] Ethan: Yeah.

[49:23] Ethan: La Isla Bonita.

[49:25] Andrew: Wait, what did it lose to?

[49:28] Ethan: Um, it was like, round two.

[49:31] Ethan: It was at the beginning of round two that it lost.

[49:33] Amon: Oh, take my—your song.

[49:36] Ethan: Interesting.

[49:38] Amon: Your song.

[49:39] Ethan: Season four, your song.

[49:41] Amon: Yeah, writer, your song.

[49:43] Ethan: Your song, yeah.

[49:46] Amon: I think I just like your song just generally better as a song than La Isla Bonita.

[49:52] Ethan: I agree with that, but it's the same thing where it's like, I don't know, oh, there's also really good harmonies in La Isla Bonita between Santana and Ricky Martin, that if you go back and like, I don't know, the harmonies, I think, are doing something for part of it.

[50:06] Amon: Yeah, people definitely thirst a little bit over Writer.

[50:14] Ethan: And that was definitely one of them, at least, I mean, some of those songs that he would get in season four and those vocals, I was like, he was listening to somebody black in that household as a kid, because there is something going on with that voice. I'm like, something's going on with that voice.

[50:36] Amon: But I probably would have given it to La Isla Bonita if I were voting, for sure.

[50:41] Ethan: He's like making a comeback, too. Like the actor, he's like doing theater out here in LA. And it's like, I don't know, it's interesting.

[50:50] Amon: I saw that like Aileen and Lily Mae from Glee Project season two did like a TikTok live not too long ago. And they were talking, like they weren't saying him by name, Blake, but they were saying that Blake had some autotune assistance that they were aware of.

[51:13] Amon: That they were like, oh, he was getting, of course, it's kind of blatant to see Glee Project season two, but that he was the favorite. And so he had some assistance is what I'm understanding from that TikTok live.

[51:33] Amon: Or I expose his ass, I'm all for it.

[51:36] Ethan: Sure.

[51:39] Andrew: In that case, any more Galactic Grievances, Ethan, that you would like to bring to light?

[51:44] Ethan: I think just because Keely was the other person on the live stream, I do want to bring up Telephone. And I disagree with Superstition winning over Telephone.

[51:54] Andrew: Okay, wait, why?

[51:56] Ethan: I think just...

[51:56] Amon: Oh, I know the Galactic song, by the way.

[51:59] Ethan: Oh, there we go.

[52:01] Ethan: I think it's just more iconic. I think I enjoy that it's like the only duet we get from Jake Cyrus. Everything else is solos. So I enjoy that. I enjoy it more than Superstition. I think like the Marley kind of, I mean, Mercedes, it's like a Marley-Mercedes duet. But it's like, I think part of what y'all talked about was like Alex Nuwa was right there.

[52:25] Amon: Sounds like.

[52:28] Ethan: No, I, but I do really like, yeah, I would have loved Alex Nuwa on the track as well. Probably in place of Blaine. But like, I just, every time it comes up on Shuffle, it's so good. And like, dare I say, I stream it more than the original. I love it. It's great. I'm obsessed.

[52:50] Ethan: But no, Telephone, I don't know. Telephone is just so bite-sized that I'm like, yeah, it's not even like a performance. I think it deserved, it deserved much more of a moment for Glee than they gave it. Because the song is such a massive pop culture moment for it to be relegated to the two of them singing in the bathroom and getting interrupted by Sue like barely one minute into the song. I'm like, okay, that's a really great point.

[53:15] Amon: I'm like, I'm curious to see like how they would have done Telephone had it been like actually treated appropriately. You know?

[53:24] Amon: Like a Santana Mercedes version of Telephone, we would have lived.

[53:28] Andrew: Oh, that would have been very fun.

[53:30] Amon: Oh my god. I would have been picturing them back on their phones.

[53:33] Andrew: Boy, it's mine.

[54:02] Ethan: I want pure musical theater.

[54:46] Andrew: Oh, it's iconic.

[54:48] Amon: It is very good.

[54:54] Andrew: And there's something so, so delicious and juicy with watching this performance happen and to know that like on some level, Lea Michele is not acting.

[55:02] Amon: Oh, yeah.

[55:07] Andrew: I just revel in it. And the fact that there isn't any more interaction past that with these characters.

[55:19] Andrew: Her lip syncing to Buenos Aires like eight episodes later.

[55:22] Amon: Yeah.

[55:23] Andrew: Yeah.

[55:24] Amon: It's just absolutely fantastic. I think that Lindsay absolutely did her big one here on Glee. And she was like, damn, y'all gonna give Dreadhead over here a season arc. I'm gonna tell y'all why y'all messed up, because listen to this. Every time that she did the two times, the two times.

[55:47] Amon: Oh, my God.

[55:49] Amon: Just both of her solos. Platinum in my household. Absolutely.

[55:55] Ethan: What are you thinking?

[55:57] Amon: It just gives me so much as a musical theater gay. It just gives me so much intense joy. It may be the most musical theater number in the show. We have Kurt, Rose's Turn, obviously, giant letter Kurt. Giant letters love. It's gypsy. But it's like, this may be even more musical theater. She's up there tap dancing her ass off with all the background singers who look like the incoming class of musical theater at NYU.

[56:25] Amon: It's musical theater. It's the most musical theater down.

[56:31] Andrew: It's great.

[56:31] Amon: It's great.

[56:32] Amon: Also, I want to shout out Brittany Parks, backup dancer in this performance. Her character, if we were to say that she's playing one character across all of Glee, she is living so many different lives. She is not only a Nyada hopeful in this performance, but also she's a cheerio. I think that she also is at Nyada. Does she go to Nyada?

[56:56] Andrew: I think she does.

[56:56] Amon: She does. She plays so many different roles over the course. And I'm like, oh, I need to I need to know more about this. Now we're becoming a cheerio just to just to sweeten that Nyada application.

[57:09] Andrew: Right.

[57:10] Amon: Yeah. Yeah, this will really get me in.

[57:15] Andrew: No, I'm obsessed with this. I really am. It's so important to me. What else do I have to say? Oh, I just really like it wasn't until like recent years that like, like the sentiment of this entire like storyline, like really like hit home that like the car scene that they have immediately following one of the scenes.

[57:35] Amon: Oh, so good.

[57:38] Amon: That like where they're like discussing like, OK, like there's so many and it's like played for laughs, of course, that they're all dressed like them and everything. But like the idea that it's like, oh, there's so many of us already out there. Should we just like give up? And it's like there is there even like room for like us as like the one person if there's so many different options? I don't know. I just really that last on last rewatch that really hit home for me. I was like, damn.

[58:06] Andrew: I echo that hard. I echo that. I think when Matt and I were going through this season and we talked about that scene in particular, I everything you said, I echo. I remember.

[59:17] Aman Adwin: Surprise, bitch! I'm back for Round 3, and I'm so excited to be here with Keely and Ethan.
