[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.

[0:09] Andrew: There's no remote to it, so don't get mad at me.

[0:17] Andrew: Glack it by Glack it.

[0:19] Andrew: We'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.

[0:26] Andrew: Glick of the week.

[0:28] Andrew: Glick, click, click of the week.

[0:32] Andrew: It's Glick, click of the week.

[0:34] Andrew: Wow, wa, wa, wow, wow.

[0:36] Andrew: Another live stream episode.

[0:39] Andrew: And this month, joined with Allyson A La Mode.

[0:43] Allyson A La Mode: How are you doing?

[0:44] Andrew: Hello, hello.

[0:45] Allyson A La Mode: I'm good.

[0:45] Allyson A La Mode: How are you?

[0:48] Andrew: Oh my god, I know. We need to have you back on for these special little live stream episodes.

[0:54] Andrew: And since it's been a minute since you've been last here, do you have Glack grievances to air out at this time?

[1:02] Allyson A La Mode: Nothing that is like weighing super heavy on my heart, other than I probably would have went for "Go Your Own Way" over "L O V E."

[1:11] Allyson A La Mode: I you know am aware that we need that Tina and Mike and the presentation.

[1:18] Andrew: Uh-huh.

[1:18] Allyson A La Mode: Well okay, what is it with "Go Your Own Way"?

[1:22] Allyson A La Mode: Because I feel really like I feel like I somehow don't have the words for "Go Your Own Way" on like how I actually feel about it.

[1:28] Andrew: What are you feeling about it?

[1:30] Allyson A La Mode: I think it's just a good cover, like in general, like regardless of it being on Glee.

[1:35] Allyson A La Mode: And I like contextually, it's funny when Quinn is like, um, she's singing a song to my boyfriend and she really had the balls to do that.

[1:45] Allyson A La Mode: I don't know. It it's uh it's definitely uh I'll stream it for sure.

[1:49] Andrew: You stream it, you stream it over "Love."

[1:51] Allyson A La Mode: Oh, yeah, "Love" is a never stream, I fear.

[1:55] Andrew: Really?

[1:56] Allyson A La Mode: Wait, why?

[1:57] Allyson A La Mode: What what is the what is the culmination for a never stream for you?

[2:00] Allyson A La Mode: Um, that's a great question.

[2:04] Allyson A La Mode: Really in my Barbara Walter's bag right now.

[2:08] Allyson A La Mode: See, Jenna, I have never streamed "L O V" either.

[2:11] Allyson A La Mode: It's it's giving little rascals a little bit.

[2:15] Allyson A La Mode: Like I can't I can't separate.

[2:17] Allyson A La Mode: Like, you know, it's like you that um the song they sing in season five, I can't unthink Bridesmaids, the Wilson Phillips song.

[2:24] Andrew: Oh, hold on.

[2:25] Allyson A La Mode: Yes.

[2:25] Allyson A La Mode: And it's like, you know, when you already have that in your mind, I can't separate it.

[2:30] Allyson A La Mode: But I I'll stream "Sing" over "Love."

[2:34] Andrew: "Sing."

[2:36] Allyson A La Mode: Oh, that's such a okay, wow.

[2:38] Allyson A La Mode: Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm like, see, "L O V E" is kind of boring.

[2:42] Andrew: Ooh, inclined to agree.

[2:44] Allyson A La Mode: And whereas like "Sing," I feel like my mom, I remember when so when season two was airing, and I put I was bold and brazen enough to put "Sing!" on in the car with my mom.

[2:59] Allyson A La Mode: Because I remember because I did that, I like did a little flashback and I was like, I remember when we watched that episode, my mom was like, oh, this is really this is really creative and really good.

[3:08] Allyson A La Mode: She I don't think she knew that song beforehand.

[3:10] Allyson A La Mode: Played it in the car, and she told me that she was like, it only worked like within the context of like of the performance.

[3:18] Andrew: You can't stream that.

[3:20] Allyson A La Mode: Well, I'm also a theater adult.

[3:24] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[3:25] Allyson A La Mode: I'm biased.

[3:27] Allyson A La Mode: I mean, I do like a "Sing!" exclamation point.

[3:29] Allyson A La Mode: I think, yeah, I I would I would go as far to say that's the type duet.

[3:32] Andrew: I mean, over "Love."

[3:34] Allyson A La Mode: Yeah.

[3:34] Allyson A La Mode: And the fact that because what are the other ones?

[3:38] Andrew: Just those two.

[3:39] Allyson A La Mode: Oh man.

[3:40] Allyson A La Mode: End of list.

[3:43] Allyson A La Mode: Well, that's just that's it.

[3:45] Andrew: No, it's scary out here with the Tycoon.

[3:47] Andrew: And is "Sing" in the chat?

[3:48] Allyson A La Mode: "Sing" is not, "Sing" is gone.

[3:50] Andrew: "Sing" is gone, but "Love" has made it to round three.

[3:54] Allyson A La Mode: Because love conquers all.

[3:56] Andrew: Because love conquers all.

[3:59] Allyson A La Mode: I feel like have we found the title of episode that this is three minutes in.

[4:04] Allyson A La Mode: "L O V E Conquers All."

[4:07] Andrew: Um wait. So is that is that the end of your list?

[4:10] Allyson A La Mode: Just as long as the list of like type duets.

[4:13] Allyson A La Mode: I decided to be very on brand uh this time.

[4:16] Andrew: So that's it.

[4:19] Allyson A La Mode: Yeah, I there wasn't anything that I was like, what?

[4:21] Allyson A La Mode: I think it's gonna be more uh well, it's hard because some sometimes for me I have weird favorites just like anyone else is gonna have weird favorites.

[4:29] Allyson A La Mode: But like, oh you know what? I'm not gonna lie.

[4:32] Allyson A La Mode: I did okay, I did think of one more because "Mr. Robano" and "Counting Stars" is low key above.

[4:43] Allyson A La Mode: I mean, I get the "Valerie" of it all, but is "Valerie" season one is already through?

[4:50] Andrew: Uh "Valerie," we have not pulled "Val" like the OG "Valerie" yet.

[4:56] Allyson A La Mode: So it's it's I mean, I would it's safe to assume that "Valerie" season two is making it to like the end game, right?

[5:04] Andrew: Which is why I would have been more inclined to vote for something wacky kooky, like "Mr. Robano" "Counting Stars," because "Valerie" One is like a or "Valerie" season two, whatever, is a given.

[5:15] Allyson A La Mode: Yeah.

[5:16] Allyson A La Mode: I know.

[5:17] Allyson A La Mode: That's like, but I I think I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but I feel like if they exist kind of like in the same area.

[5:24] Allyson A La Mode: If I were to rank by number all Glee songs, I feel like they would be very, very close, so it's like very dependent on the day, which of those two songs I like better.

[5:36] Allyson A La Mode: I don't know. But I think the Britannic cuteness like outweighs the Britannic cuteness.

[5:43] Andrew: I know, but if I'm reaching for Britannic cuteness, it's going to be "Miss Hand in My Pocket" or uh "CCC."

[5:49] Allyson A La Mode: So you haven't pulled her yet either.

[5:51] Andrew: So I'm not sure.

[5:52] Allyson A La Mode: And that's from my favorite season six episodes.

[5:54] Andrew: Right, right, right.

[5:55] Allyson A La Mode: Yeah.

[5:56] Allyson A La Mode: I that's uh fan favorite season six episode, everybody's fan favorite.

[6:01] Andrew: But um that's another one that hasn't been pulled yet, and that I'm like I'm almost voting for "Valerie" season five just in case something terrible happens to "Hand in My Pocket," my contingency plan.

[6:14] Allyson A La Mode: Right.

[6:15] Allyson A La Mode: That it's like this is in her honor, she's here, you know.

[6:20] Andrew: I don't know. I think there's so many ways, like this Glacket, I swear.

[6:25] Andrew: Like there's so many ways to look at it because whether you're judging the song based on how it makes you feel, the context, and then you're thinking long game, like I said, like, oh well, in the long run, obviously "Hand in My Pocket" is gonna like fill that Britannia ship quota over "Valerie" season five.

[6:41] Allyson A La Mode: But we don't know what's gonna happen to "Hannah."

[6:43] Andrew: "Hannah My Pocket" could be against like "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," and then it's dead on site, you know.

[6:49] Allyson A La Mode: I that just made my heart.

[6:51] Andrew: Right.

[6:51] Andrew: But this is the thought of that situation, the thought of that situation just made my heart jump out of my chest.

[6:59] Allyson A La Mode: This that that very scenario could happen, you know, a good 20 minutes from now.

[7:04] Andrew: Because I don't know what I would do.

[7:05] Allyson A La Mode: I don't because I don't know what I would do.

[7:07] Andrew: Don't do that.

[7:07] Allyson A La Mode: You know what you would do.

[7:08] Andrew: I you do.

[7:10] Allyson A La Mode: My face is getting hot thinking about that.

[7:12] Allyson A La Mode: Let's not let's not manifest those type of pressure vibes.

[7:17] Andrew: Speaking of manifestations, is there something specifically that you're looking for?

[7:21] Allyson A La Mode: I mean, every time I'm on this show, I am always rooting for a season six because I love being a season six apologist.

[7:28] Allyson A La Mode: The arrangements the arrangements in season six are it's it sucks because the arrangements are great and like they're streamable for me, but then the context that usually the songs are in horrible.

[7:40] Andrew: Yeah.

[7:42] Allyson A La Mode: It's kind of like okay, to make this comparison, everyone says "Cheetah Girls 3" sucks, but the songs are streamable.

[7:42] Andrew: The songs are streamable.

[7:51] Allyson A La Mode: I don't I would be very surprised if I've actually ever watched "Cheetah Girls 3."

[7:56] Andrew: What is like the song from "Cheetah Girls 3"?

[7:59] Allyson A La Mode: Oh man, that one that was the dance me if you can, the one where they're like dance battling.

[8:05] Andrew: Uh-huh.

[8:06] Allyson A La Mode: Raven is not in that one.

[8:08] Allyson A La Mode: Raven is famously not in "Cheetah Girls 3," but I think the music is better.

[8:13] Allyson A La Mode: Like it's because of the city.

[8:14] Allyson A La Mode: Not because of their lack of Raven, just I think that it's they've stepped, they've like grown, they've stepped out of their like Disney channel like box, and now they're like a girl group.

[8:25] Andrew: They're like making a name for themselves, not to make this a "Cheetah Girls" podcast.

[8:29] Allyson A La Mode: No, no, no.

[8:30] Allyson A La Mode: But if it were a "Cheetah Girls" podcast, what would be um the winner of the of the chat?

[8:35] Andrew: The "Cheetah Girls" Bracket.

[8:37] Allyson A La Mode: Oh, okay.

[8:37] Allyson A La Mode: Well, I mean, see, look, oh, rise up for "I'm the One."

[8:37] Andrew: "I'm the One."

[8:42] Allyson A La Mode: Thank you, Charlie.

[8:43] Allyson A La Mode: Thank you, Charlie, in the chat.

[8:44] Andrew: Wait, is it not? Just like from an outside perspective, for someone that's like watched like the first two decades ago.

[8:50] Allyson A La Mode: Is "Strut" not the song?

[8:53] Andrew: Or no?

[8:54] Allyson A La Mode: Is there uh I don't want to be the Cinderella?

[8:58] Andrew: "Strut" tell a song.

[9:00] Allyson A La Mode: Okay, "Cinderella."

[9:01] Allyson A La Mode: "Cinderella" is such a feel good, like empowering song, but then so is "Strut."

[9:06] Andrew: Oh man, this is maybe we should do a "Cheetah Girls" podcast.

[9:09] Allyson A La Mode: Maybe that's bonus content right there.

[9:11] Allyson A La Mode: The jacket.

[9:13] Allyson A La Mode: Um okay.

[9:15] Allyson A La Mode: I have done this only once before.

[9:18] Allyson A La Mode: I realize I usually come prepared.

[9:20] Allyson A La Mode: I don't even have my cup on my desk, so let me go get my cup.

[9:24] Allyson A La Mode: My cup, Glee Casper's in my cup.

[9:28] Andrew: 404, not found.

[9:31] Allyson A La Mode: Um, okay.

[9:33] Allyson A La Mode: Alright.

[9:33] Andrew: Are we ready for to bring in the first Gleek?

[9:38] Allyson A La Mode: Yay!

[9:39] Andrew: Okay.

[9:40] Andrew: So I'm looking for is Sonia here.

[9:45] Andrew: Sonia, can you hear me?

[9:48] Allyson A La Mode: Charlie says "Cheetah Girls" is better than "High School Musical."

[9:52] Sonia: Oh, hello.

[9:53] Sonia: Hello.

[9:53] Sonia: Hello.

[9:55] Sonia: Hi.

[9:57] Sonia: At long last.

[9:59] Sonia: I feel like you've been a longtime listener.

[10:01] Sonia: Yes?

[10:02] Sonia: Yeah.

[10:03] Sonia: Oh my gosh.

[10:03] Sonia: I think it's been like a year.

[10:05] Andrew: Okay.

[10:05] Andrew: Oh my gosh.

[10:06] Andrew: Well, long time coming.

[10:08] Andrew: How are you doing?

[10:09] Sonia: I'm doing awesome.

[10:11] Sonia: I'm so shocked.

[10:13] Andrew: Wait, why are you shy?

[10:14] Sonia: Girly pop, you're you're a Glaitron.

[10:16] Sonia: You signed up.

[10:17] Sonia: Here you are.

[10:19] Andrew: Um Sonia, you already know what what question I'm going to ask.

[10:24] Andrew: Your Glack at grievances.

[10:26] Sonia: Do you what do you do you have anything to air out this time?

[10:29] Sonia: Alright.

[10:30] Sonia: Yes.

[10:30] Sonia: Yes.

[10:31] Sonia: The list.

[10:33] Sonia: Okay.

[10:34] Sonia: Well, there's I don't have like a lot because this is a life of the Glack.

[10:42] Sonia: Like, I get it.

[10:44] Sonia: Songs have to go.

[10:46] Sonia: But "Take Me to Church" is like one of my favorite songs.

[10:54] Allyson A La Mode: Same Sonia.

[10:55] Allyson A La Mode: Same.

[10:56] Sonia: Same.

[10:56] Sonia: It's a season six.

[10:58] Sonia: And I can't believe it.

[10:59] Sonia: Like it didn't even make to round two.

[11:04] Andrew: Against, against, do you recall who?

[11:06] Sonia: "Cherish Cherish."

[11:07] Andrew: "Cherish Cherish."

[11:08] Sonia: And I feel like we need to actually have a conversation about "Cherish Cherish."

[11:11] Allyson A La Mode: I'm definitely to have a conversation about "Cherish Cherish."

[11:14] Sonia: "Cherish Cherish" to me, I've been thinking a lot about this girl recently.

[11:19] Sonia: She has all of the factors of like a great Glee song.

[11:24] Sonia: You get the Quinn vocals, you get the Mercedes vocals, and I know that there's some Joe Hart stands in the chat right now.

[11:30] Sonia: And it's a mashup, and we get a Britannic kiss on it.

[11:33] Andrew: Okay, it's a mashup that I've often mistaken.

[11:36] Andrew: Like, I don't even know what the original is.

[11:39] Sonia: So it's like the the association "Cherish" is like really like depressing when you actually listen to it, but the Madonna "Cherish" is very cute and fun.

[11:49] Allyson A La Mode: I've never heard to this day.

[11:51] Allyson A La Mode: Usually like in the wild, you'll heal hear the original, like, oh wow, this is that song they did on Glee.

[11:56] Sonia: I've never heard either "Cherish" before.

[11:59] Sonia: Yeah, I don't think I've heard it before either.

[12:02] Sonia: And I I really don't get the hype behind the song on Glee.

[12:07] Andrew: Okay.

[12:08] Andrew: Alright.

[12:08] Sonia: Alright, so you're you're looking to potentially take out "Cherish Cherish" tonight.

[12:13] Sonia: Ooh, that'd be sweet.

[12:16] Sonia: Revenge for "Take Me to Church."

[12:19] Allyson A La Mode: Yes.

[12:21] Andrew: Uh what other ones have uh have not sat right with you?

[12:24] Sonia: Um latest one.

[12:29] Sonia: Um what's it called?

[12:31] Sonia: The Liam Shell song from season six.

[12:35] Sonia: "Uninvited."

[12:36] Andrew: "Uninvited."

[12:37] Sonia: Yes.

[12:38] Sonia: That one also should have gone through.

[12:44] Sonia: My favorite episodes.

[12:45] Sonia: Or no, it's not.

[12:48] Sonia: Um, yeah, and I feel like that was I think that we almost like predicted it in the episode that like the Instagram poll would reflect in favor of "Hungry Like the Wolf" "Rio," whereas like everybody in the chat was uninvited heavy.

[13:02] Allyson A La Mode: But the Instagram Gleeks, they they love a little mashup.

[13:06] Sonia: So yeah.

[13:08] Sonia: Um it's a good song as well.

[13:12] Andrew: Yeah.

[13:12] Andrew: Over "Like a Wolf."

[13:14] Sonia: I know, I know.

[13:15] Sonia: That was a tough one.

[13:17] Sonia: Yeah.

[13:18] Andrew: Sorry.

[13:20] Sonia: Um, what what other ones are are we thinking of?

[13:23] Sonia: Well, there's like some songs that I like that don't seem to be popular with other people.

[13:29] Sonia: I've seen it.

[13:31] Sonia: "Here's to Us."

[13:33] Sonia: I love that song.

[13:35] Allyson A La Mode: Okay.

[13:35] Andrew: Yeah.

[13:36] Sonia: It's it's one of the more tolerable deep.

[13:39] Sonia: I feel like that's a deep cut song because I again don't know the original.

[13:42] Sonia: I don't think anybody does.

[13:43] Sonia: I think it's one of the more tolerable deep cuts of the show.

[13:48] Allyson A La Mode: Yeah.

[13:49] Sonia: Yeah.

[13:50] Sonia: I that was such a I every time I think of that, I'm like, I don't think even like Rachel would know this song.

[13:56] Sonia: Like, why is she singing this?

[13:58] Sonia: Mr. Shu handed them the sheet music and they were like, is this an original song?

[14:02] Sonia: Oh my god, we're doing original songs.

[14:07] Allyson A La Mode: Not again.

[14:09] Sonia: Um, okay, wait, so Sonia, do you have like one last grievance that really grinds your gears?

[14:18] Sonia: Okay, one more.

[14:19] Sonia: Not because the song that won or not because the song that lost is great, that's because the song that won is terrible.

[14:29] Sonia: And you "Imagination" losing to "My Favorite Things."

[14:36] Sonia: I cannot stand that song in whatever version it is.

[14:43] Allyson A La Mode: Yeah.

[14:44] Sonia: "Pure Imagination" lost to "My Favorite Things."

[14:48] Sonia: "My Favorite Things" I hate.

[14:52] Sonia: I I big agree.

[14:55] Allyson A La Mode: Big agree.

[14:56] Sonia: "My Favorite Things," I hate that song.

[14:59] Andrew: But I think it's like I think the MP4 is doing a lot of heavy lifting with my favorite things.

[15:04] Allyson A La Mode: That's the that's the thing with my favorite things. My gripe is I think I hate that song in general. I don't care who sings it unless your name is Julie Andrews.

[15:13] Andrew: Yeah.

[15:13] Allyson A La Mode: Um, but the fact that yes, in the chat they're saying it's not a Christmas song, and I think that's what makes me so angry is that I don't know if it was like in 2011 or like something shifted, and every musical artist was like, I'm gonna put my favorite things on my Christmas album. And I'm gonna do it too. And ever since then, I'm like, I have like a grievance with that, like we have beef with that song. Every time I hear it, I'm like, this is not a Christmas song.

[15:41] Andrew: I think that like Connor brought up in that episode that like Lea Michele also like recorded her own solo version for like her own album.

[15:50] Allyson A La Mode: That she was like, No, no, no, I can't be just on a quartet for my favorite things. I gotta get the Rolo out of this. Release my favorite things from the Christmas shackles.

[16:00] Andrew: That it is It's over.

[16:02] Allyson A La Mode: It's over. My least favorite things.

[16:06] Andrew: Um, okay, Sonia. What are what are we manifesting?

[16:10] Sonia: I mean, we're potentially looking to kill Cherish Cherish.

[16:13] Allyson A La Mode: Yes.

[16:14] Sonia: That's the best.

[16:17] Andrew: Then it changed season six.

[16:21] Sonia: Okay.

[16:22] Andrew: Yes, Sonia, season six sister.

[16:25] Sonia: Yes.

[16:26] Andrew: Oh yeah. Season one, season two.

[16:28] Sonia: Some blame, maybe.

[16:32] Andrew: You know, I pulled a song out of my cup earlier today, and the song that came out was like it checked a number of your boxes.

[16:41] Allyson A La Mode: Suddenly Seymour.

[16:43] Andrew: We get the season six and we get the blame.

[16:46] Sonia: So put it back in there, obviously.

[16:49] Andrew: But you know, it can't be. If you love it, let it go.

[16:54] Sonia: I was like, oh wait, your time will eventually come. But you know, I was like, oh, I forgot about her.

[17:00] Andrew: Okay, let's see.

[17:01] Sonia: Oh my god!

[17:03] Andrew: It's her.

[17:06] Sonia: I am that's wild.

[17:09] Andrew: If it comes back, it is meant to be.

[17:12] Sonia: People in the chat are saying that it stays.

[17:17] Andrew: Look at that. Suddenly Seymour.

[17:20] Sonia: That's wild.

[17:22] Andrew: Sonia, that's like we our energies aligned today.

[17:26] Sonia: Oh my gosh.

[17:28] Andrew: And then Sonia, you are you're like not even gonna like this one. This is like a season six that's a good one.

[17:32] Adam: The cup is just full of Suddenly Seymour.

[17:37] Andrew: Um wait, that's so I feel like the craziest things always happen like in the live stream episodes. That's so funny.

[17:44] Andrew: Okay, here we go.

[20:03] Allyson A La Mode: Oh my gosh!

[20:05] Andrew: Sonia, let's start with you. What are you immediately thinking of this song?

[20:10] Sonia: They're so good at singing. Crazy. They're so good.

[20:18] Andrew: But it's kind of ridiculous.

[20:22] Sonia: How Rachel just sitting there.

[20:25] Andrew: She's so sad.

[20:30] Sonia: At the beginning of the song as Rachel.

[20:33] Andrew: Yeah.

[20:33] Sonia: Just like being sad. It's like really uncomfortable.

[20:37] Andrew: That yeah, I know exactly what shot you're talking about, where she's just like sitting, like all like, oh, I'm getting sang at.

[20:43] Sonia: So sad.

[20:45] Andrew: Darren Criss is singing live at me.

[20:48] Sonia: Wait, so Sonia, is this a season six song that hits for you?

[20:51] Sonia: It's none of my favorite.

[20:52] Andrew: Okay from season six.

[20:54] Sonia: Um.

[20:56] Sonia: I don't stream it much.

[21:02] Andrew: You don't when it when it comes up.

[21:05] Sonia: Yeah. It kind of re- it it reaches you out when you need it.

[21:09] Allyson A La Mode: Um, I think it would be good.

[21:11] Sonia: It's a good song.

[21:12] Allyson A La Mode: I mean, I feel the same way when we're like when it comes up, I'm like, I'll listen to it. Not going out of my way to listen to it though.

[21:18] Sonia: I did really enjoy watching it just now, though.

[21:21] Andrew: Um, Allison, what are you thinking?

[21:23] Allyson A La Mode: I have a lot to say. I do go out of my way to listen to this song, I'm not gonna lie. I do, but I do stream the Jonathan Groff version over this version.

[21:34] Andrew: But the end harmonies, I love.

[21:37] Allyson A La Mode: Wait, before you go any further, the okay, so the Jonathan Groff version, is that so the off Broadway version is the original, is Jonathan Groff.

[21:37] Andrew: Is Jonathan Groff.

[21:48] Allyson A La Mode: Okay, okay, okay. On Apple Music and Spotify. Honestly, and this is a safe space. Never streamed it once. But if you're saying it's good, I'll go, I'll go out of my way.

[21:57] Allyson A La Mode: I think I just love Jonathan Groff's voice, but I love their voices together, like more toward the end.

[22:03] Andrew: But he sings this live, right?

[22:04] Allyson A La Mode: The beginning is sung live.

[22:05] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[22:06] Allyson A La Mode: This is their in live.

[22:07] Andrew: And I was today years old that I realized they were not at Dalton.

[22:12] Allyson A La Mode: Like with my whole chest, someone said in the chat, where is this? And I typed Dalton, and then it like panned out and showed all these people, and I was like, Where are they actually?

[22:21] Andrew: Wait a minute. We're not in Dalton.

[22:24] Allyson A La Mode: I don't think we're at Dalton anymore.

[22:26] Andrew: This like entire like set, this isn't a set. They're like on location somewhere in LA.

[22:32] Allyson A La Mode: But like it did take me out. I remember watching it live. I'm like, where the hell are you?

[22:37] Andrew: Just the guy who is literally like the man standing emoji.

[22:40] Allyson A La Mode: I could not, it was so distracting.

[22:43] Andrew: Like once I like he's just standing there with his coffee, like choosing.

[22:46] Allyson A La Mode: I would be choosing too.

[22:48] Andrew: Yeah, free performance.

[22:50] Allyson A La Mode: This is such a good song, but it feels so out of place in the sixth season.

[22:54] Andrew: I feel like toward the end of the series, there were so many songs that would have been such bangers if they were placed earlier, like in season two and three.

[23:03] Allyson A La Mode: Like this song and um Bye Bye Bye.

[23:07] Andrew: I want it that way.

[23:08] Allyson A La Mode: If they were earlier in the series, I think people would like them more.

[23:12] Andrew: That's a good point.

[23:14] Allyson A La Mode: Because when would you want Suddenly Seymour earlier than that?

[23:18] Andrew: This feels like a choir room song.

[23:20] Allyson A La Mode: Like whether people a do a duo, whether it's the same duo or any other duo is like rehearsing in the choir room.

[23:26] Andrew: I feel like this like weird, like on location, not Dalton, like trying to cheer Rachel up after she got canceled.

[23:34] Allyson A La Mode: Like, I feel like it doesn't, it would have worked better with different contexts, but it's still a good song outside of the MP4.

[23:43] Andrew: I do like it.

[23:44] Allyson A La Mode: I mean, like, I remember being really against it because it's been a minute since we've seen this on the Glacket.

[23:51] Andrew: This was like from a very early round one episode.

[23:54] Allyson A La Mode: I think it was from Connor's first episode in round.

[23:57] Andrew: Oh my gosh.

[23:58] Allyson A La Mode: And um, and I remember being really upset that this one over just the way you are season five version, the saving grace of the Billy Joel episode.

[24:08] Andrew: I am oh wait, just the way you are five, not Fert.

[24:13] Allyson A La Mode: Five, not Finn.

[24:15] Andrew: Yeah.

[24:16] Allyson A La Mode: Okay, listen.

[24:18] Andrew: I think I love Billy.

[24:21] Allyson A La Mode: The Billy Joel episode is an episode that I cannot, my mind will not form that memory.

[24:27] Andrew: I don't even remember that it exists.

[24:28] Allyson A La Mode: And every time I'm like binge watching, I'm like, what is this?

[24:32] Andrew: And especially just the way you are.

[24:35] Allyson A La Mode: Wait, really?

[24:37] Andrew: Really, really.

[24:38] Allyson A La Mode: Wait, so what is the song that you think of when you think of a Billy Joel episode?

[24:42] Andrew: I think well, the the one that they sing um the title of it.

[24:49] Allyson A La Mode: Oh, Moving Out?

[24:50] Andrew: Yeah.

[24:51] Allyson A La Mode: Yes, yes.

[24:52] Andrew: This public transportation anthem.

[24:55] Allyson A La Mode: Yeah.

[24:55] Andrew: Um think see, Allie in the chat.

[24:57] Allyson A La Mode: I think of moving out too.

[24:59] Andrew: I thought you were gonna say for a second, You may be right, which is the final song of the episode, which is I think the most forgettable song of the entire series.

[25:09] Allyson A La Mode: You just said those words, couldn't even once again could not even form the memory of that episode.

[25:14] Sonia: Like Sonia, do you have any opinion?

[25:18] Sonia: Yeah, I have no memory of the episode.

[25:20] Andrew: Thank you, Sonia.

[25:21] Sonia: Thank you.

[25:22] Andrew: I don't remember most of season five because I only watched season five once.

[25:29] Sonia: Okay.

[25:30] Andrew: When it was live.

[25:32] Sonia: And then when I rewatched the show, I watched one two four, then uh the choir bag episode of season five, and then season six.

[25:45] Andrew: Season five once is enough.

[25:47] Sonia: That's it.

[25:48] Andrew: You had your chance to impress me and you didn't do it.

[25:52] Allyson A La Mode: Um yeah, I don't know.

[25:54] Andrew: The I love it just the way you are season five, and I know that people with people when you listen to this, people in the chat, even with me right now, just the way you are season five.

[26:04] Sonia: Come on.

[26:04] Andrew: After we record this episode, I'm going to watch Movin' Out just to have your.

[26:11] Sonia: When you receive a DM from me, like with an apology, or not, but we'll see.

[26:18] Allyson A La Mode: Um I okay, uh the conversation about where they are during Suddenly Seymour.

[26:26] Andrew: Is this the same library that they sing that Jesse and Rachel sing Hello potentially?

[26:31] Allyson A La Mode: Were they it?

[26:31] Andrew: Was that a library?

[26:34] Sonia: Weren't they in a library?

[26:46] Andrew: The music store where they sing It's Too Late.

[26:49] Allyson A La Mode: Was it It's Too Late Not at Sheets and uh Between the Sheets?

[26:53] Andrew: Okay, yeah, no, Charlie in the chat is saying that it was that's that's definitely separate from both of these locations.

[27:01] Sonia: Right.

[27:01] Andrew: I was yeah, but anyway.

[27:04] Allyson A La Mode: Um I don't really have too many more uh notes on this.

[27:09] Andrew: I like it.

[27:10] Allyson A La Mode: I feel like we've been like purging season six songs lately, with the exception of problem.

[27:17] Andrew: Um, but how do how are we feeling about this has the potential to go through for me, but also the potential like if something crazy gets pulled, we can say goodbye.

[27:27] Sonia: Okay.

[27:28] Andrew: It's gonna made the song.

[27:30] Allyson A La Mode: Like it can it can go through if the other one is worse or not, if the other one's better.

[27:36] Sonia: Maybe maybe a sacrificeable song.

[27:39] Andrew: I have against suddenly Seymour, another season six song, which is I feel like we're manifesting a lot of things today.

[27:50] Sonia: Yes, yes, yes.

[27:51] Andrew: And I feel like without looking at a list, I feel confident in saying that this is maybe my favorite season six song.

[27:59] Sonia: Oh my gosh.

[27:59] Andrew: I'm so excited.

[28:01] Sonia: Top three?

[28:02] Andrew: I don't know.

[28:02] Sonia: I really like this.

[28:04] Andrew: Do you change the set list?

[28:05] Sonia: Here we go.

[28:06] Andrew: Oh my god.

[28:08] Allyson A La Mode: This is from my favorite episode, one of my favorite episodes.

[28:11] Andrew: And Spencer?

[28:13] Sonia: Yeah, well, that was things to Sam.

[28:15] Allyson A La Mode: That's all I wanted.

[28:18] Andrew: Something special, something sacred in your eyes.

[28:25] Allyson A La Mode: For just one moment to be bold and again.

[28:30] Andrew: All my emotional treatments be.

[28:34] Allyson A La Mode: Sometimes I think that you never understand me.

[28:43] Andrew: But something tells me together we'd be happy.

[28:54] Allyson A La Mode: Oh baby.

[28:56] Andrew: I'd love to be your daddy.

[29:01] Allyson A La Mode: I would say to young people and all the others involved.

[29:04] Andrew: It's a lot more fun winning.

[29:05] Allyson A La Mode: It hurts to lose an election, but stay involved.

[29:11] Andrew: A little while ago, I had the honor of calling Senator Barack Obama to congratulate him.

[29:22] Allyson A La Mode: I have just called President Obama to congratulate him on his victory.

[29:30] Andrew: So when you remember the ones who have lies, who said that they cared but to laugh as you cried.

[29:39] Allyson A La Mode: Beautiful darling.

[29:43] Andrew: Don't think of me because I have a won.

[29:50] Allyson A La Mode: Put your tiny hand in my thing you have in mind, baby, and I have had enough of times.

[30:29] Andrew: Okay, this is the one that everyone's sleeping on. I'm actually crying. I'm not gonna lie. Wait, Allyson, start the discourse.

[30:38] Allyson A La Mode: Oh my god. First of all, the "Hurt Locker Part Two" is like my comfort episode. I will put it on to sleep. I will put it on, always stream. Stephanie in the chat says, "This is an always stream for me." Oh my god, I'm actually crying.

[30:53] Sonia: Yeah, you're literally crying. That's crazy.

[30:57] Allyson A La Mode: I like, I first of all, Noah Guthrie. Like, as soon as I knew what song it was, I was like, okay, well, "Suddenly Seymour," goodbye. Like, suddenly deceived. Suddenly, no. Yep. Suddenly gone. And then just someone in the chat said it was very on topic for an election year. So hilarious. Very on brand.

[31:21] Andrew: Oh my god. Just and the little choreo, like that they allegedly just made up on the spot or whatever, because of their, you know, very on brand for the New Directions as well. But ugh. I mean, just dip it into that election year like in conversation just for a second.

[31:40] Allyson A La Mode: Okay, so a friend of mine reached out to me, like a non-Gleek adjacent watched like most of the series, but then left after a while. But then they, when, you know, the Kamala Harris thing a few weeks ago, you know, she was announced as the Democratic nominee. Then people drew the Sue parallels, and then my friend texted me and was like, "Do we know if Sue is a Republican?" And I needed to think for a second. I was like, do we know, like for certain, for certain if she's when she runs?

[32:12] Sonia: Well, like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[32:14] Allyson A La Mode: Or just like in, I mean, like, okay, so this is my, I feel like I have a little bit of an issue because obviously I can talk till I'm blue, you know, about like praising this song, but I feel like I do have an issue with Sue becoming out as a Republican because I'm just like, it kind of is like more fun to not like her and to like, you know, not think about how Paul, how like she might vote. But what's funny is that like in the era that this episode came out, it was more of like a ha ha ha she's a Republican versus like I'm fearing for my safety of Republican. Can I say that on the—

[32:53] Sonia: I think that's a really valid point, the way that the Republican Party has shifted since the airing of the—

[32:53] Allyson A La Mode: Like it was more of like satire, like we can laugh at this versus like now it's like, oh, like right, okay.

[33:10] Sonia: No, that's so valid. And no, that's absolutely right. Where it's like, no, it only feels that way because it's only like in hindsight, like, ooh.

[33:20] Allyson A La Mode: Right. You know. Um, yeah. So, but I love it. I love it. Sonia, where do you stand on "Father Figure" Glee Cast version by Glee Cast?

[33:29] Sonia: I love everything about it. Yes. It's so corny. And just makes me smile. And Noah Guthrie is like my favorite.

[33:40] Allyson A La Mode: Take me to church.

[33:41] Sonia: At the moment. Yeah.

[33:43] Andrew: Does this make up for "Take Me to Church" for you? Like, is this—

[33:47] Sonia: No, it's not as good.

[33:49] Andrew: Oh, really?

[33:51] Sonia: See, this is like my, okay. So if like "Mustang Sally" is Roderick's "drump," I feel like "Father Figure" is just like the song that people associate with—

[34:03] Andrew: Absolutely not.

[34:04] Sonia: No?

[34:05] Andrew: No.

[34:07] Sonia: Okay. I'm saying, let me cook. Okay. I'm saying that "Father Figure" is his "My Man."

[34:17] Andrew: Oh.

[34:20] Sonia: You know what I'm saying?

[34:21] Andrew: I still would say, okay, if "Father Figure" is his "My Man," then "Take Me to Church" would have to be his "drump," even despite it not technically being a chance.

[34:28] Sonia: Then what's "Mustang Sally"?

[34:30] Andrew: Oh, we're not saying "Sally" is a never shit.

[34:32] Sonia: "Mustang Sally" is "On My Own."

[34:34] Andrew: Oh, his "On My Own."

[34:38] Sonia: Oh, okay. Yeah.

[34:40] Andrew: Sonia, spitting facts over here.

[34:40] Sonia: Right.

[34:40] Andrew: Okay, we did the math. "Take Me to Church" is—

[34:44] Sonia: It's all coming back to me now.

[34:47] Andrew: Okay, yes, we're getting—

[34:47] Sonia: It's all coming back to me now.

[34:56] Allyson A La Mode: I love this girl. So I fear that, you know, in the next competition, because I feel confident in saying that she's winning this one, that in her round three competition, I don't think she's gonna make it much further, just because I feel like the season six factor is working against her, you know what I mean?

[35:18] Sonia: I feel like of all, okay, so like obviously "Take Me to Church" is a competition number, and technically this is a competition number. Cause usually for me, like it's always like the context that works against it. Like, well, what are we really like, but this is, you know, it's, I mean, other than like the Sue cuts, which are hilarious. I feel like it, I don't know, Noah Guthrie is strong. He can carry this Glacket, I feel depending on how far, I don't know, depending on what it's against.

[35:47] Andrew: I feel like "Father Figure" can be—

[35:48] Sonia: Well, I think that like he, I, uh, like how many songs, like how many Roderick songs do you even have left in the—I think it like "Mustang Sally" is in round three. They, uh, "All About That Bass," "All About That Bass" I think is still—

[35:57] Andrew: That's my least favorite Roderick yet to be pulled.

[36:04] Sonia: I'm just like you had Amber and Noah in the studio, and this is what you came up with.

[36:10] Allyson A La Mode: Thank you.

[36:12] Sonia: Thank you.

[36:22] Andrew: I mean, I thought it was gonna be "Take Me to Church," right?

[36:25] Sonia: I think, well, he kind of did take us to church with this one.

[36:28] Allyson A La Mode: He did.

[36:30] Andrew: Um, do we want to do the thing where we vote?

[36:36] Sonia: Yeah, um, Sonia, would you want to start?

[36:43] Sonia: Sure, I can start. I'm going to vote for "Father Figure."

[36:53] Andrew: Oh my god, Sonia, I didn't know which way you were going. Wait, were you really thinking about it, Sonia? It's okay if you were.

[36:59] Sonia: No.

[37:03] Allyson A La Mode: I don't even care what gets pulled for the rest of the episode. That is how much I love this song.

[37:11] Andrew: Exactly. Oh my gosh.

[37:12] Sonia: "Father Figure." Father's Day came twice this year.

[37:18] Andrew: Okay, "Father Figure" going through. Thank you so much, Sonia. It was a pleasure having you on for this season six inspired competitions.

[37:27] Sonia: Thank you for having me. I can't believe how lucky I was to get out of here.

[37:31] Andrew: Oh my gosh. Yes. Oh my god. You manifested this. That was your power.

[37:37] Andrew: Okay. Who do we have? Do we have an Adam here?

[37:39] Adam: Yeah.

[37:45] Andrew: How's it going, guys?

[37:47] Adam: Hello, Adam. How are you doing?

[37:49] Adam: I'm good. This is exciting.

[37:50] Andrew: Yeah. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited to have you. You know exactly what I'm going to ask.

[37:57] Adam: Oh yeah. Okay, just I'm not even gonna bother asking. No, I had, I've had my notes open, ready to go. Nearly as long as Eduardo's grievances a couple weeks ago.

[38:08] Andrew: Okay. I think that that's a tall order to top that.

[38:11] Adam: Yeah. Uh let's see. Uh so these are like while I'm listening to episodes, I make notes, so I won't remember when they're all from, but I'll try my best. Um, so first thing. Uh oh, also. Um I was listening back to the episode. Oh god, it was like the Mouse Machine podcast back in back in the case.

[38:34] Andrew: Yes.

[38:34] Adam: Um, I have two major grievances from that. So um one of them is you guys were talking about like the worst song on Glee, and I think Allison had said it might be uh Kurt's "Greatest Star."

[38:46] Andrew: In the literal episode that you pulled candles.

[38:51] Adam: Right. I mean, we have a different Allison with us here too.

[38:54] Andrew: Yes.

[38:54] Adam: No, no, yeah, no, no, yes. I know, no, not to say yes. No, no, no. Yes, yes, yes. That was um, all right, let's see. "Uninvited," we all know. We don't need to go through that. Um, "If I Were a Boy," uh taking out "Love Song." Um, I love that song. Like Beyoncé, like, I would sing that song, but if I were a boy, and I was like, oh, wait. Yeah. Nellie singing it is amazing.

[39:29] Sonia: Alex Newell.

[39:30] Adam: Nelly lore. Yes. Yes. Yes. Nelly mentioned. Nelly mentioned. It's amazing. Like, I want the MP3. Um, Alex Newell though, just I don't know if it's the version of the song. I know, I know. This is like I'm gonna you're gonna crazy. You're gonna kick me out right now. But here's my hot take. Uh, I just I I don't I don't love it. Like the in the bathroom cry. I just, Alex's pipes just, it's not I don't like it.

[40:02] Allyson A La Mode: Moving on.

[40:03] Adam: Wait, no, no, no. I'm gonna stay in that space for a little bit longer. Um, the unique wall, okay. Gosh, I always struggle with like the unique solo unique wolo?

[40:09] Sonia: Unique Wolo.

[40:14] Adam: What unique wallow are you reaching for when you need one?

[40:18] Adam: Uh, I mean my favorite thing is um the duet uh "Blow Me" with Marley. I know I was like, pardon. What well this term. Um but we're looking for a unique centric solo.

[40:39] Sonia: Okay, now I'm not even gonna remember the name. The with the trans choir behind.

[40:44] Adam: I know where I'm, I know where I've been.

[40:46] Sonia: Yes.

[40:46] Adam: Oh, see? That is great, amazing. Yeah. Just not "If I Were a Boy."

[40:52] Sonia: Okay.

[40:53] Adam: My opinion I and I know opinions aren't supposed to be wrong. I'll say it could be a wrong opinion. That's fine.

[40:59] Sonia: But you prefer Santana and Quinn being like, "I'm so glad you're not naked, Rachel."

[41:05] Adam: Yes.

[41:05] Sonia: Yeah.

[41:06] Adam: Yes.

[41:06] Sonia: You like that context?

[41:08] Adam: That context over like the nose context.

[41:13] Sonia: Yes. The context and the song. I mean, I love that um that episode in general I love.

[41:20] Adam: Um naked. Well, okay, I love two songs from that episode. Maybe that's what I should say.

[41:26] Sonia: What wait, what's the other one that comes to mind for you?

[41:28] Adam: Isn't "Torn" in that episode?

[41:29] Sonia: "Torn" is in that episode. You know what's so messed up? I know that this is we will go through this entire list. Yes. This is something that I realized recently when Kevin and Jenna were recapping "Naked." That I was like, wait, what songs do we have left from "Naked" on the Glacket? The only song that we have left yet to be pulled in round two is "Hot in Here" "Centerfold." And I'm like, that is easily the worst song from the episode.

[41:53] Andrew: You don't want to see them curling kitty.

[41:56] Adam: Party curling kitty.

[41:58] Andrew: Wait, what?

[41:59] Adam: That's true. I thought I just gave you the name of the episode.

[42:05] Andrew: Curling kitty is really good.

[42:08] Adam: Um, okay, wait. So uh go on.

[42:11] Andrew: Alright, so speaking of "Torn." Um, I think "Billionaire" beat "Torn."

[42:16] Adam: "Billionaire" beat "Torn." That was an Instagram poll, yes.

[42:20] Andrew: I mean, so I think I didn't come up with this. I saw this years ago. Um, I think didn't send when Kurt was doing a duet with himself. Didn't Santana say, "How can you do a duet with yourself? That's like vocal masturbation."

[42:31] Adam: God strike three. I'm gone.

[42:33] Andrew: But you fell into that yourself, yes.

[42:37] Adam: But I was like, and she's doing a duet with herself, and it is amazing. Um I I don't I don't love the "Billionaire" of it all. Um, I get it's Cord's first episode, and it like there's that nostalgia factor. Um, but I thought "Torn" should have won.

[42:52] Sonia: No, I'm with you. I think that if you re-listen to the tapes, you would find that I voted in your favor.

[42:58] Adam: I might need to go back then. Um, I don't have again, I and I'm not trying like most of this isn't throwing shade at you.

[43:05] Andrew: Oh no, no, no. Okay, we're having fun. We're having fun.

[43:09] Adam: Ding dong, the witch is dead, beating a thousand years.

[43:12] Sonia: That's insane.

[43:14] Adam: Is it yes?

[43:17] Sonia: You're a naked stay.

[43:19] Adam: A naked stay, apparently. Um, I wrote, I agree with Connor, "Take On Me" versus "Nasty Rhythm Nation." A "Nasty Rhythm Nation" doesn't do it for me.

[43:27] Sonia: I think someone once commented, but what about like Jake's dies? And I was like, alright, well, maybe not, but the rest of "Nasty Rhythm Nation." I I'm in a minority there, I get it.

[43:37] Adam: Um, I thought it was funny when you guys were doing "Pure Imagination" going through it. Um, Connor interrupted Jenna's solo part of it, like on the track to speak. She can't catch a break, this girl.

[43:53] Andrew: Oh my god.

[43:56] Adam: I was like, it checks out. Um, I mean, for the most part. Um, one thing I was proud of that, and I said it to um recovering Gleek and they didn't care. I love Ian and Lena, but um in 2021, this is the credential I have. Um back when I used to use Spotify, I was in the top one percent of Gleek ass listeners.

[44:17] Andrew: Oh my gosh.

[44:19] Adam: It's like yeah, it's one of those um big fan. Um, but Andrew, I don't like besides like my close friends that they're in the car, they're probably gonna hear it. For the most part, the world doesn't know you're just streaming the songs from "Naked."

[50:09] Allyson A La Mode: Like, if Leah Michelle can be like, you know, hired for my wedding to sing that for first dance, I would go bankrupt doing that.

[1:09:51] Andrew: Abby, so quick with it. How are you?

[1:09:53] Abby: I'm good. Let me just come on camera.

[1:09:56] Andrew: Oh my gosh, Abby with the mic set up too.

[1:09:59] Abby: Yeah, I figured I would have my like corporate girly mic.

[1:10:01] Andrew: So corporate glee.

[1:10:06] Abby: Um, Abby, also you've you've been around for yeah, I've been to a few, yeah.

[1:10:12] Abby: Um, well, thank you for coming and now the stage is yours yeah Glack it grievances just pulling up my I have like a Google Doc of my Glacket grievances I love to hear it yeah so I just have a few um uh just want to bring up um these are a couple where it's like I get why the one won like the winner was chosen but like I don't know like I feel like the other song deserves some love so uh crazy you drive me crazy losing to last name I love Crazy you drive me crazy I just think their like chemistry is so good and it's like a cute little Jake and Marley moment.

[1:10:50] Andrew: I don't know.

[1:10:50] Abby: I like that kind of sold me on that's a streamer for me.

[1:10:54] Andrew: Okay.

[1:11:48] Abby: I just remember him rolling down the hallway.

[1:11:52] Andrew: And he's singing so beautifully.

[1:11:54] Abby: It's a it's it's a number one Artola in my book.

[1:12:00] Andrew: Okay.

[1:12:01] Abby: Yeah.

[1:12:01] Abby: I'm also yeah, a big rumors fan.

[1:12:04] Abby: So I feel like that that would have been my vote as well.

[1:12:07] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:12:08] Abby: So wait, so if if we had a different, entirely different Glacket, if never going back again was against Crazy You Drive Me Crazy.

[1:12:08] Abby: Crazy You Drive Me Crazy would win for me, just because that's just when I stream more. Whereas like never going back again, I'll probably just stream Fleetwood Mac, to be honest.

[1:12:24] Andrew: But yeah, Crazy Drive Me Crazy. I'm like, oh, it's a mashup, it's different.

[1:12:28] Abby: So Yeah.

[1:12:30] Andrew: What else do you have?

[1:12:31] Abby: Okay.

[1:12:32] Abby: Um another one is uh don't go breaking my heart, losing to Boogie Shoes.

[1:12:37] Abby: Once again, I get that Boogie Shoes won, but like I just I'm a big Finchel girl, so I just feel like I'm like uh don't go breaking my heart is an underrated Finchel duet, and also it's in the duets era, and I think Finchel's really good and non-toxic in that era, which is just very fun.

[1:12:53] Andrew: So we did go breaking your heart.

[1:12:55] Abby: Yeah, just a little bit, but just a little bit.

[1:13:00] Andrew: I think it's in round three now.

[1:13:02] Abby: It is in round three, yeah.

[1:13:04] Abby: Um this one's been brought up a lot recently, and actually Wish and Hoping just died, so I'm actually kind of kinda happy about that.

[1:13:10] Abby: But uh give your heart a break.

[1:13:11] Abby: I just love that that song.

[1:13:13] Andrew: I assume that version a lot.

[1:13:17] Abby: Yeah.

[1:13:17] Abby: I also just need to like shout out again that I think Leo Glistener Leo, who like chatted a few days before the recording were wishing and hoping unfortunately passed.

[1:13:40] Andrew: Leo, I hope that you can forgive the Glackett. I really felt for you when that happened.

[1:13:48] Abby: Continue.

[1:13:49] Abby: Yes.

[1:13:50] Abby: Um okay.

[1:13:51] Abby: I have like two more.

[1:13:53] Abby: So uh Wake Me Up Before You Go Go Losing to Raise Your Glass season five.

[1:13:58] Abby: I feel like Blam did not get enough love on this podcast.

[1:14:02] Abby: And it makes me sad.

[1:14:03] Abby: I feel like the Blam duets are so fun.

[1:14:05] Abby: Like Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.

[1:14:06] Abby: It's just a kind of a fun, campy number.

[1:14:08] Abby: And Razor Glass season five is like I don't know.

[1:14:13] Andrew: Blam, and this is like Salt in the Wound. I'm sorry to be sharing this with you.

[1:14:17] Abby: Blam, fun fact about the Glackett, round one.

[1:14:20] Abby: Blame didn't have a single duet that made it out of round one.

[1:14:23] Andrew: Oh, I'm aware.

[1:14:24] Abby: This is just my representation of just blam duets not getting love.

[1:14:29] Abby: But this one in particular, I'm like, the other song was bad.

[1:14:32] Abby: Like Razor Glass season five is not a good song.

[1:14:36] Andrew: You don't like seeing all them together to again.

[1:14:44] Andrew: That sucks.

[1:14:44] Abby: That sucks.

[1:14:50] Allyson A La Mode: I'm so sorry. I think they're fun. I don't know. They are fun. And then yeah. This last one um is I know it's been brought up before, but beauty school dropout losing to it's a man's man's man's world. I just I miss that song. Beauty School Dropout is such a good, like it's a top five. Yeah, right. It's crazy. Especially because I hate it's a man's man's world.

[1:15:14] Sonia: That's what I was gonna say. I'm actually mad that it's in round three now because like I just I think it's it's a it's like the worst quolo. It's it's too cringe. Usually I like song on Globe, dare I say wait, no, uh maybe not worse song, but definitely worse quolo, so she's she's doing the she's she's really running. She it's giving like your drunk friend at the karaoke bar, like and I and I love her more for it.

[1:15:43] Abby: No, it's horrible. Usually I like the like campy numbers, like I love turkey lurky, let's have a kiki and like run Joey want run, but like it's a man's man's world just doesn't work for me. I don't know.

[1:15:54] Adam: So I big agree. Big agree. I I think in that episode I did vote in favor of beauty school dropout, however, that is in the episode with Samuel Larson and Allison and Samuel Larson. I mean Samuel Larson does have history, some may know, with uh with Quinn. So I think maybe also been persuaded in the zoom with Samuel Larson to vote with Samuel Larson, so I I get it, but yeah.

[1:16:19] Allyson A La Mode: But yeah, that that's it. Um yeah, just a few. There are also like other ones that I feel like other people bring up, but those are just a few that I feel like aren't brought up enough. I feel like wait, was there was there a round? It was a lot of round one. Yeah. Was there any round two? I think like in round two, I guess like I feel like those ones just get brought up more frequently.

[1:16:40] Sonia: So um, but like go your own way. I was saying this in the chat earlier. I just I love that one so much, and I can't believe like love, I just feel like it's so forgettable. Like, I don't know.

[1:16:51] Abby: So do you mind with the Glacket voting on representation where it's like kind of like it not not now? It sounds like a diversity hire. Where it's like B, I hired for the Glackett. No.

[1:17:09] Adam: Um, that doesn't sound great. But um, but like with love, where it's like, no, we gotta have we gotta have some tyke representation in round three, whereas like this is kind of a mid Rolo, right?

[1:17:23] Allyson A La Mode: No, I don't I'm a big Rachel fan, so I feel like I don't go by that because otherwise, like a lot of good rage rollos would have to die.

[1:17:32] Sonia: So yeah. I mean when I think of important my I was gonna say L L V E does have like the fun montage. Like if I'm if I'm pulling pros out of that clip, it has like the fun montage. You get sugar mata representation. Right.

[1:17:47] Abby: But in the MP4, yes, yeah, yeah. Um I yeah, but I I do stream go your own way. Yeah.

[1:17:55] Allyson A La Mode: Hey, we know. Um, all right. Well, so wait, what are we manifesting? Um honestly, like rollos, or I also I love Finn a lot as well, so any follows or like Finchel numbers. I feel like there's there's a lot of content there, so hopefully some of that, but you know, we'll think damn it, Janet in here.

[1:18:15] Sonia: Yeah. It's a great one.

[1:18:18] Allyson A La Mode: Okay. Ooh. I saw it brought up in the chat earlier. Uh do we want any hints? I feel like I've been doing three. I love it. I l every time I love it.

[1:18:32] Adam: Um so you mentioned that you were upset that you at a unique song killed Don't Go Breaking My Heart. And so we do have a unique song for you.

[1:18:45] Allyson A La Mode: Okay. And I think it's maybe the most unique.

[1:21:16] Sonia: I there's a comment in the chat that it was my thought during the performance as well. Is it's insane that unique went from these performances to like background vocals and new directions? Like, she is the star of vocal adrenaline at nationals, and then like she just doesn't get solos when she joins New Directions. Super confusing.

[1:21:32] Allyson A La Mode: This is excellent, so I don't know why they they didn't do her justice.

[1:21:37] Adam: No, I kind of want to like I wanted like an answer. Like, I want a thought. Like what what is the like the the thought like behind like not doing that?

[1:21:49] Abby: Like, what do you think was the intention of not having unique be like?

[1:21:56] Sonia: I don't think they looked like big picture. They were like, oh, how can we feature Alex Newell? Like, obviously, they're going to be the lead singer of vocal adrenaline, and then when the whatever the new season started, and whenever they brought her into the choir or the new directions, they were like, Oh yeah, we but we have like so many other people, but like I don't know, they just didn't think big picture.

[1:22:17] Allyson A La Mode: They were just like what will sell like Alex Newell featured tracks, and then just not shoved into the background, not having a single solo to her name in all of season four, which is just insane to actually.

[1:22:36] Abby: I was gonna say, I feel like they went from like wanting her to be the star of Vocal Adrenaline and then only wanting her in at McKenley for the plot, like, oh, we could do all these things with her in the plot, but not singing related.

[1:24:17] Adam: Like you, whenever it zooms in on their face, they're like panicked because it's like lock the brakes or whatever.

[1:24:23] Allyson A La Mode: And all of the men pushing them look so old, like not in high school. But I think that's like I'm okay with it when it comes to vocal adrenaline because like that's part of their lore that it's like they're like holding these children.

[1:24:36] Abby: That's true.

[1:24:37] Allyson A La Mode: So I'm okay with it when it comes to that. But they they're stressed, they're stressed on stage.

[1:24:42] Abby: I will say, like a potential negative point for this is just like with them all pushing around like the pinball machines. Like, I feel like just the choreo isn't at like usual vocal adrenaline level, and maybe that's what they needed for the new directions to win nationals, but it's just like, oh, they're just kind of pushing around pinball machines, and it's like distracts you of like there's not a whole lot of dancing happening, you know, they're just kind of moving these pinball machines, so yeah.

[1:25:05] Sonia: Um, I don't know if I've said it in a previous episode, but my fan cast, my fan set list for vocal adrenaline for nationals. [1:34:39] Abby: And so we got these um songs with so much time in advance.

[1:34:44] Andrew: So we knew like the "Suddenly Seymour." We knew uh the "I Feel the Earth Move" um "Hand in My Pocket," like literally in August or September, and then that those episodes didn't come in out until January.

[1:34:57] Abby: So they remain those two songs, "I Feel the Earth Move" and "Hand in My Pocket," they remain top played songs on my library because I was just getting ready. And like there are certain songs that like I like prepared myself for that I was like, ooh, I wonder what they're gonna do with like "Jump" and "Jump In," you know?

[1:35:19] Andrew: And like I would listen to a lot and it didn't deliver, but this was like such an outlier that it was like they did the absolute best possible scenario with this one.

[1:35:31] Abby: So I love her so much. I don't know. The season six Dan in me is fed.

[1:35:36] Andrew: I'm fed.

[1:35:38] Sonia: I know a huge night for season six heads.

[1:35:40] Abby: Yeah. I also I feel like when you have a really good song, it's like I don't know even know what to say. I'm like, this was great. I loved it.

[1:35:44] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:35:45] Abby: Basically no notes.

[1:35:47] Sonia: Basically no notes.

[1:35:49] Abby: I mean, except for the ch the Quinn and Puck jump scare.

[1:35:52] Sonia: Yeah.

[1:35:52] Abby: I was going to say that. I was like, ah, like whoa. Like I forgot.

[1:35:55] Andrew: And he has hair.

[1:35:58] Abby: Like he has hair. It's so scary to me.

[1:36:01] Sonia: They I don't know. I'm sure there's a fanfiction out there.

[1:36:04] Abby: They they're struggling at this time. I do love the like the meta-ness of season six, and like after this performance when Santana does propose to Brittany and Right, uh writer, oh my god, so sorry. Roderick is like, I'm sorry, what's happening? Like, this is not this is not normal. What it like, how did this happen? Like, these adults are just performing for us, and now there's a proposal, but they're also like a year older than us or whatever.

[1:36:29] Sonia: Right.

[1:36:30] Abby: So and Puck is like, this happens literally all the time.

[1:36:34] Andrew: Um yeah, like you're saying, Abby, there's not much to say about a song of this caliber.

[1:36:43] Abby: Um, and I feel bad for "Pinball Wizard," but "Boogie Shoes" and "If I Were a Boy" are in round three, so there are some unique representation in round three.

[1:36:54] Adam: So in "Bitch's Back" is there, um I feel like I like all of those over "Pinball Wizard."

[1:37:04] Sonia: Exactly.

[1:37:05] Abby: Yeah.

[1:37:06] Andrew: And we don't need "Starships" when we get to her.

[1:37:08] Abby: We don't need "Starships" ever.

[1:37:10] Sonia: That one can stay behind, yeah.

[1:37:11] Andrew: No, higher than any other, lower than any other.

[1:37:16] Abby: Um, okay, but to just for the sake of just having it recorded, what are we voting for?

[1:37:24] Sonia: "I Feel the Earth Move."

[1:37:25] Abby: "Hand in My Pocket."

[1:37:26] Andrew: "Hand in My Pocket."

[1:37:28] Abby: "I Feel the Earth Move."

[1:37:30] Andrew: Incredible.

[1:37:31] Abby: Well, Andrew, thank you so much.

[1:37:35] Andrew: Another three for three competition, but we got these through, and I'm happy to see that these songs are going through all three of them. But um, thank you so much.

[1:37:45] Abby: Yeah, thank you for having me.

[1:37:48] Andrew: Um okay, in recap of this episode, Jesus Christ. I was gonna say I'm happy to have it an easy episode because when the songs have not gone my way, like I've tried to pitch, and you know, it did not work in my favor.

[1:38:06] Abby: So now I think this is my redemption.

[1:38:08] Andrew: Smooth sailing.

[1:38:09] Abby: I needed this today. Like, I just like I was just like, I can't, I can't be like Wade I can't be going to bed tonight being like I failed I failed the Gleeks um okay but just in recap suddenly Seymour isn't standing beside me anymore he's suddenly gone suddenly Seymour suddenly Susan?

[1:38:36] Andrew: I don't know suddenly Seymour suddenly suddenly seen no more um okay you have so many options it's really take your pick with that one um ooh father figure ooh for some reason I'm thinking like this is so stupid it's like father figure skating to round three figure it out in round three figure it out father figure it out father figure figure it out your father's in round three um you came and went like a wrecking ball uh you are you're done uh and you already said it earlier and I am telling you I'm not going well yeah well I wait no and I am telling you you are going to round three you are going to round three thank you so much this is why we workshop um and then pinball pinball wizard you have been whizzed away in some way wow in a flash uh pinball wizard oh you you lost the game no I like yours better um and then, oh, I feel like I started strong and now here I am with "Hand in My Pocket," "Feel the Earth Move."

[1:39:51] Abby: What is that one?

[1:39:52] Andrew: "I Feel the Earth Move" to round three.

[1:39:58] Abby: Right.

[1:39:59] Andrew: Wait, do we do we incorporate "Hand in My Pocket" at all?

[1:40:02] Abby: "Hand in My oh wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I got one "Hand in My Pocket" and the other one's going to round three.

[1:40:12] Sonia: Yeah.

[1:40:12] Andrew: There it is.

[1:40:15] Abby: Wow. That was fun.

[1:40:17] Andrew: I love this game of hitting songs against each other.

[1:40:20] Abby: I should do this more often.

[1:40:22] Andrew: We should.

[1:40:23] Abby: Alison A La Mode, where wait, do you are you okay with being referred to as Alison A La Mode?

[1:40:29] Andrew: No, my coworkers call me that as well.

[1:40:29] Abby: Okay.

[1:40:29] Andrew: Um, Alison A La Mode, where can the Gleeks find you in all the great work that you do?

[1:40:40] Abby: Oh, I'm just I Alison A La Mode on Instagram, just doing a whole lot of nothing, probably in a Broadway theater, not Broadway theater, a theater in San Francisco, probably watching a Broadway show.

[1:40:49] Andrew: Probably watching a Broadway show.

[1:40:51] Abby: And they come up and say, Hey, we love you.

[1:40:53] Andrew: Yeah, come say hi.

[1:40:55] Abby: I what is the last Broadway show that you watched?

[1:40:58] Abby: Oh gosh.

[1:41:00] Abby: Uh "House Kitchen."

[1:41:02] Andrew: Oh, did you love it?

[1:41:04] Abby: I loved it.

[1:41:05] Abby: "House Kitchen." I went in being like, Alicia Keys, you know the hits. I'm not like Alicia Keys stan, and I think like Elias is like a little bit more of like a he knew he knew like a like one or two more while we were watching it. But like we had a good time.

[1:41:21] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:41:21] Abby: And it was like, it was like such a fun jukebox musical. This like every I mean, obviously like the Tonies, but everyone's saying it's such a good show, and I think I was just like hesitant, like what can you?

[1:41:30] Andrew: But you also have like super vocal craziness happening with like Shoshana Bean and Friends.

[1:41:37] Abby: Oh my gosh. Like we literally like turn to each other. It sounds like you're listening to it like a polished track when she's singing.

[1:41:44] Andrew: It's like, oh, she's lip singing.

[1:41:46] Abby: Well, that shouldn't be allowed.

[1:41:48] Andrew: See, okay, so Shoshana Bean is actually doing this really intimate show in Napa here in California, which is the same show that I saw Darren Chris at.

[1:41:57] Abby: Um and he did it again this year, but I was like, oh, I need to see Shoshana Bean live.

[1:42:02] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:42:02] Abby: No, it's crazy. I don't think that I've ever seen her before.

[1:42:07] Andrew: But wait, so what show? You what show you're always like moving to different shows. Are you with a specific show right now?

[1:42:14] Abby: Not right now. I was just with "Mrs. Doubtfire."

[1:42:17] Andrew: Um, which I had never I didn't see it, I didn't know anything about it.

[1:42:21] Abby: I've also never seen the movie famously.

[1:42:23] Andrew: And I watched the show.

[1:42:25] Abby: That is such a fun show, you guys. If "Mrs. Doubtfire" is coming to a city near you, that show is so fun.

[1:42:32] Andrew: I have not seen it and it's since closed on Broadway, but it's so cute.

[1:42:37] Abby: And I mean going into it blind, like, and Rob McClure is carrying that show. I mean, everyone in the show is amazing, but like he is really putting in the work.

[1:42:44] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:42:45] Abby: But the last show I did see was "Girl from North Country."

[1:42:48] Andrew: Are we gonna say any notes?

[1:42:49] Abby: Nope.

[1:42:50] Andrew: "Girl from North Country," I could confuse with.

[1:42:54] Abby: Is that the one that had like the really big drama behind?

[1:42:57] Andrew: No, that's "Paradise Square."

[1:42:59] Abby: See, that's I get them confused.

[1:43:01] Andrew: Yes.

[1:43:01] Abby: Well, "Girl from North Country" is a jukebox as well. It's Bob Dylan music. They're actually making a film version with Chloe Bailey and Woody Harrelson.

[1:43:10] Andrew: So I'm excited to see that because I feel like films are a little bit more that could just be my brain. I didn't really understand what was going on, but I'm excited to see the movie version because I need to be explained it to me like I'm five.

[1:43:22] Abby: Right.

[1:43:22] Andrew: Like, oh, I get I am in the same way. That's why I'm like looking forward to like watching "Wicked." A show that I've seen I think probably like six times at this point but to watch it on screen I'm like whoa yes that's what the story is about I find it I love movie versions of musicals yes because I'm like I sometimes I just need stuff color purple too I've seen color purple like three times but having things explained to me like I'm five is just so satisfying I need it I need it dumb fied anyway I could literally talk to you about this all day anyway um thank you so much for all the Gleeks Sonia Adam Abby um Alison for joining for all three of those competitions and um if you would like to attend these live streams they happen once a month go to patreon.com slash gleek the week pod and become part of the Cheerio tier um that's one of the many perks that you get um these monthly live streams and this group chat with the paid the Glatrons it pops off I love checking it it's like it's on the hour the Gleeks have things to say so um support the podcast patreon.com slash gleek the week pod and otherwise there will be another episode next week okay bye it's Gleek of the Week.
