[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.
[0:09] Andrew: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.
[0:18] Andrew: Gleek it by Gleek it, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.
[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
[0:35] Andrew: Is this gonna be a singing intro? Should I? I mean, why not? It's the finale.
[0:39] Andrew: It's the Gleek finale, da da da. Not the Gleek finale, oh no, no, it's the round three finale.
[0:48] Andrew: Oh god, maybe let's just scrap this entire episode. It's not the Gleek finale, we're not there yet.
[0:53] Andrew: All right, everyone just pretend like nothing actually happened. We're actually keeping it from the top.
[0:58] Andrew: It's the round three finale, da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da, hey!
[1:13] Andrew: Um, it's beauty into choir. Music to my ears. Oh my god, thank you so much. And you know what, I'm joined by literally Gleeks in STEM, Gleeks that love a spreadsheet, Gleeks that, this actually doesn't make any sense when I'm looking at your names, it's Elijah and Amelia. Your names go into each other.
[1:34] Andrew: So even though Elijah, your last name, your first name ends with an H, and Amelia, yours does not. Now your name is now Hamelia. So that's great.
[1:46] Amelia: Oh, I love that.
[1:48] Andrew: Elijah and Hamelia, hey!
[1:52] Elijah: Hey!
[1:53] Andrew: Okay, so what did we think of this damn round? I feel like you're almost like the, you know, like the Stanley Tucci. Historians. Stanley Tucci in Hunger Games, the Elizabeth Banks in Pitch Perfect, you're the moderators. What's going on?
[2:07] Elijah: Yeah, I mean, it just blows my mind at how much the pod has grown in the past five years now.
[2:18] Elijah: And I mean, I've been listening since probably episode 30 of round one.
[2:24] Andrew: Oh, really? For some reason, I thought you were like, kind of like a more new age listener.
[2:30] Elijah: No, so I've been listening for years. You know, in my spare time, you know, I would let songs backlog and just, you know, whether I'm at work, driving, just listen to everything.
[2:46] Elijah: It was recently that I joined the Patreon and, you know, shared, you know, my document with everybody here.
[3:00] Andrew: You really took the time nobody else wanted to take of, you know, going back and listening.
[3:06] Andrew: I attempted it and I really couldn't.
[3:08] Andrew: Going back, in case you're not aware, Elijah is responsible for going back and listening to every single competition and seeing how each person voted and recording that because there are too many episodes where I'm like, check the tapes, I didn't vote for that.
[3:23] Andrew: And Elijah did check the tapes, every single one of them.
[3:28] Elijah: Yeah, and it was, you know, it was quite the undertaking.
[3:32] Elijah: But, you know, it's a lot of fun to see sort of these stats in a visual manner, more specifically towards, you know, each round.
[3:44] Elijah: And I mean, Amelia does the same thing.
[3:47] Andrew: But yeah, people would always constantly go after you for these votes.
[3:52] Andrew: And you're breaking up the tree, buddy.
[3:54] Elijah: Yeah.
[3:55] Andrew: Yeah.
[3:56] Andrew: Yeah, I was here for you.
[3:57] Elijah: I'm here for you, Andrew.
[3:58] Andrew: Thank you so much, my lawyer, everybody.
[4:00] Andrew: My lawyers!
[4:02] Elijah: Lawyers, your lawyers.
[4:04] Andrew: Amelia, round three, just generally, I feel like it really didn't get kind of as wacky or as bad as it could have been.
[4:13] Amelia: I'm scared for next round.
[4:16] Amelia: Wait, I'm so scared for round four.
[4:21] Amelia: I think, like, I'm about to graduate college. I'm very in the mindset of, like, everything happens for a reason.
[4:26] Amelia: So I'm not, like, too upset about so many of the competitions.
[4:29] Amelia: I think that I've made peace with them.
[4:30] Amelia: I think that there are definitely some disappointments.
[4:34] Amelia: There's no more clean duets.
[4:35] Amelia: Like, does that disappoint me? Yes.
[4:37] Amelia: But, like, did that happen for a reason? Like, I'm okay with it.
[4:40] Andrew: Let's shout out a clean duet right now that you're missing real bad in this hour.
[4:43] Amelia: Well, I think Baby It's Cold Outside was the last one in the last round.
[4:49] Amelia: Come what may, it was a big heartbreak for me.
[4:52] Elijah: Yeah.
[4:53] Amelia: But, you know, I just like any of them.
[4:55] Amelia: So let me find.
[4:57] Amelia: We're saying.
[4:58] Amelia: Well, okay, wait, wait, wait. That's a crazy statement.
[4:59] Amelia: I can't say that.
[5:00] Amelia: We got to put a little asterisk there.
[5:02] Elijah: Yeah.
[5:03] Amelia: Okay, okay.
[5:03] Amelia: Let me find, let me find Kurt and Blaine.
[5:06] Amelia: Yeah, because I looked at the list and Perfect was the first thing that came.
[5:09] Amelia: So that's not true.
[5:10] Elijah: Yeah.
[5:12] Amelia: The asterisk says not including Perfect, not including Candles, not including Let It Snow.
[5:17] Amelia: Low key, low key, a lot of things on that list.
[5:19] Andrew: But what, what, what left after round one is it's too late.
[5:24] Amelia: And I miss that one a lot.
[5:26] Andrew: Okay.
[5:26] Andrew: Yeah.
[5:27] Andrew: Let's see what that lost to.
[5:28] Amelia: That lost to, I already know, pure imagination.
[5:30] Andrew: Pure imagination.
[5:32] Amelia: Hey.
[5:32] Amelia: Which, I mean.
[5:33] Amelia: Which is okay.
[5:35] Amelia: In round one, like, I get that you're going to put pure imagination, but like, I do miss her a little bit.
[5:41] Amelia: It's too late.
[5:42] Andrew: I'm just like, I, I'm kind of like wanting it to be mashed up.
[5:45] Amelia: You know what I mean?
[5:46] Andrew: Well, but the whole episode is like, let's just have one not mash up in the.
[5:51] Amelia: And you know what that was?
[5:52] Amelia: Like, what happened?
[5:53] Andrew: So far away.
[5:54] Andrew: The, the, you know, the 15 seconds that we got was so far away.
[5:56] Amelia: That last for about eight seconds.
[5:57] Andrew: Yeah.
[5:58] Andrew: So I don't know.
[6:00] Andrew: I'm just, and I understand that, like, they sang It's Too Late before they even, like, said the idea of, like, mashing the two artists together.
[6:07] Andrew: But I feel like It's Too Late kind of lends itself to, there are certain songs that I'm like, there's, there's just enough here that you can mash up.
[6:14] Amelia: And which ones?
[6:15] Andrew: What?
[6:17] Andrew: And which ones?
[6:18] Andrew: Let's write the, let's rewrite it.
[6:20] Amelia: Oh, like It's Too Late mashed up with, like.
[6:23] Andrew: Yeah.
[6:23] Andrew: I feel like, I mean, this is so boring, I guess, that, like, this is the big one that they didn't do.
[6:28] Andrew: But you ought to know that I feel like You Ought to Know kind of has, like, this kind of, like, It's Too Late has, like, a spooky kind of, like, undertone.
[6:35] Andrew: Like the, it's too late, baby.
[6:38] Amelia: And, but, like, You Ought to Know is like, I want, you know, there's kind of.
[6:42] Elijah: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[6:43] Andrew: I see it.
[6:44] Andrew: There's something there.
[6:46] Andrew: Okay.
[6:47] Andrew: Is there any, like, hot takes?
[7:10] Andrew: Do we want to do the whole big thing of, like, what, are there any competitions that you would like to be, like, hey, I'm not happy with this?
[7:19] Elijah: I mean, I would say Amelia, I, I've been on more recent than Amelia, so she can take the floor here.
[7:27] Amelia: Wait, no, I think, but, like, back to, like, I think everything, like, I'm okay with everything.
[7:31] Amelia: Truly, like.
[7:33] Amelia: It's okay.
[7:34] Andrew: Okay.
[7:35] Andrew: I'm at peace.
[7:36] Amelia: Because, wait, how many songs, this is, like, putting you on the spot, and I'm going to be doing this a lot.
[7:39] Amelia: Wait, don't worry, I have it, probably.
[7:41] Amelia: I probably have it, too.
[7:42] Andrew: How many songs did we, like, lose this round?
[7:45] Elijah: Oh, I don't have that.
[7:47] Elijah: Um, we lost, well, it's 90, because 180, so.
[7:51] Elijah: Is it?
[7:51] Elijah: Before the vote backs.
[7:52] Elijah: So 80 with the vote back, so it's 90, and then we did, we'll do nine after 10 vote backs, and then the one final.
[8:00] Elijah: So we lost 80 songs this round.
[8:03] Amelia: Yeah.
[8:04] Amelia: And I feel like, for the most part, they were all, like, kind of, I really do feel like, as I'm looking at the list of, like, the songs that we lost this round, they were, for the most part, the ones to lose.
[8:17] Elijah: Yeah.
[8:17] Elijah: I don't know about that.
[8:18] Andrew: Wait, what do you want to say, Elijah?
[8:19] Elijah: Okay, Elijah, take the floor.
[8:22] Elijah: Um, I mean, are we going into grievances?
[8:25] Elijah: Because I have a couple here.
[8:27] Andrew: Okay.
[8:28] Elijah: So, main one here, uh, I'm not going to teach your boyfriend versus marry you.
[8:33] Andrew: Okay.
[8:34] Elijah: I have never been a fan of teach your boyfriend.
[8:38] Andrew: You're not getting it?
[8:40] Elijah: That's crazy.
[8:41] Elijah: It's not my cup of tea.
[8:42] Andrew: What aren't you getting?
[8:43] Elijah: How can we kind of, like, get you on our side?
[8:46] Andrew: Wait, but you like Blaine.
[8:49] Elijah: Uh, I do, just not that Blaine.
[8:53] Andrew: Which Blaine?
[8:54] Elijah: Okay, wait, I want to understand which Blaine you're liking, and so I can pull from the Blaine that you're liking into I'm not going to teach your boyfriend.
[9:01] Elijah: Basically, season two, like...
[9:05] Andrew: Not the season two, Mama.
[9:06] Elijah: Yeah, I was about to say.
[9:09] Elijah: I don't, I don't, I don't, you got me.
[9:12] Andrew: Sorry, sorry.
[9:14] Elijah: It's just, it's one of those songs that, you know, like, I get the appeal and I get the vibe.
[9:20] Elijah: It's just not a vibe that I match with.
[9:23] Andrew: Okay.
[9:25] Andrew: Um, like, you know, if I'm going to listen to Blaine, I'm going to listen to Somewhere Only We Know or Somewhere We Go Sometimes.
[9:32] Andrew: I'm going to listen to, um, what's another one?
[9:37] Elijah: Do you like the emo Blaine?
[9:39] Elijah: Uh, yeah, but what do you mean when you say, like, Teenage Dream?
[9:44] Elijah: I'm talking about Teenage Dream, Against All Odds.
[9:46] Elijah: I'm talking, you know, Cops Europe.
[9:48] Elijah: I kind of like the angsty, the angsty, so like fighter.
[9:52] Andrew: I mean, yeah, like that sort of, that sort of vibe.
[9:55] Andrew: Also, like, it's not right, but it's okay.
[9:59] Andrew: Like the angst in the emotion.
[10:02] Elijah: I don't get that in I'm not going to teach your boyfriend.
[10:05] Elijah: It seems very, you know, surface level, like there isn't anything else behind it.
[10:10] Andrew: Okay.
[10:12] Andrew: I want you to be able to get it and I'm so glad that that is not a song that is kind of up for grabs right now in this episode.
[10:18] Andrew: Um, because I don't, I don't want your fingers all over that song right now.
[10:25] Elijah: We, we would have been fine though.
[10:27] Andrew: Oh yeah, it would have been fine.
[10:28] Andrew: With me in the room, we would have been chill.
[10:29] Andrew: Um, okay.
[10:30] Andrew: So let's get into the first song of the final competition of round three.
[10:38] Andrew: I wonder what it could be.
[10:39] Amelia: What could it be?
[10:40] Andrew: I know what, who do you like, who do you think the first song is going to be? Put your money on it.
[10:44] Amelia: Not your actual money, but you know.
[10:46] Amelia: I'm going Nutbush.
[10:48] Elijah: I'll go One Less Bell.
[10:49] Andrew: Okay, let's see.
[10:51] Andrew: I was gonna do like a whole like homework and prep, but then I was like, you know what, maybe let's just like see what the vibes are right now.
[10:57] Andrew: And we're just going into it.
[10:59] Andrew: Um.
[10:59] Andrew: So I'm kind of scared.
[11:01] Andrew: So it is indeed Nutbush.
[11:04] Amelia: Oh darn it.
[11:05] Andrew: I love this stuff.
[11:08] Andrew: Okay, I've listened to this song so many times in the past week in preparation for this exact moment.
[11:14] Andrew: Um, Amelia, my first question is to you as a Drag Race fan and as me that's just now starting to watch Drag Race.
[11:22] Andrew: I feel like, is this a song that is, Elijah, are you a Drag Race fan?
[11:26] Elijah: Uh, I was.
[11:28] Elijah: I've sort of fallen off.
[11:29] Elijah: I really need to get back into it.
[11:31] Andrew: Yeah.
[11:32] Andrew: But yes, definitely a drag fan.
[11:34] Andrew: This song like really lends itself to a lip sync.
[11:37] Andrew: Have we seen this in a lip sync?
[11:39] Amelia: Yeah.
[11:40] Amelia: We have.
[11:41] Andrew: Did we?
[11:41] Amelia: We have.
[11:42] Andrew: No, Reddit says no.
[11:44] Amelia: Reddit says no.
[11:46] Andrew: Reddit said, gotcha.
[11:48] Andrew: Reddit said, absolutely not.
[11:51] Andrew: Um, but I think, you know.
[11:53] Andrew: Yeah, but we, it would be so cool.
[11:55] Andrew: Rue, if you're listening, I think we have, we have a contender.
[11:59] Andrew: Um, okay, what are we thinking of Nutbush City Limits?
[12:01] Amelia: I'm obsessed.
[12:03] Amelia: Like, just like, oh, so good.
[12:08] Amelia: It's, it's really real.
[12:09] Amelia: I don't know.
[12:09] Amelia: I feel like I don't have so much to, I mean, we can, there's a lot to say, but I think that like the overall vibe is like, everyone in the room is eating it up and even Brittany transitioned to like, I'm obsessed.
[12:20] Andrew: Yes.
[12:21] Amelia: I almost feel like while watching it so many times this past week, one of the things that kind of like dawned on me in like listening to the voicemails, which I'll play in a bit, that a lot of people are like talking about like the particularly like new kids reactions, like the writer reactions, the Alex Newell reactions, um, that like, it almost like feels like authentic that it's like, oh, this is how, you know, the like main cast is doing it.
[12:50] Amelia: Like, we're not doing all of that when we have our jukebox heroes, when we have our, um, everybody talks when, you know, like,
[13:00] Andrew: Uh, don't be too hard on everybody talks.
[13:02] Amelia: But I think energy, energy wise, we're not, it's really hard to match Nutbush City Limits.
[13:09] Amelia: The energy to me is very much like, uh, and I am telling you season one.
[13:14] Andrew: Oh, yes.
[13:15] Amelia: Where everybody, everybody's on board.
[13:17] Amelia: It seems very like authentic, very real.
[13:20] Andrew: Yeah.
[13:23] Andrew: And also the same as, and I'm telling you, Emma's there and Will's not.
[13:30] Amelia: Thank god.
[13:32] Andrew: Right.
[13:34] Elijah: Um, Elijah, what are you thinking?
[13:36] Elijah: What else?
[13:37] Elijah: That's one of the Santana songs.
[13:39] Elijah: I haven't listened to a whole lot, but every time, you know, I'm listening to, uh, you know, the, uh, playlist, whatever my Glee playlist, I, every time it comes on, it's, it's just a bop.
[13:46] Elijah: Like during that whole song, I was just sitting there, like bouncing up and down, rocking around.
[14:00] Elijah: Like, it's like the vibe is immaculate.
[14:04] Elijah: That hair whipping is what they needed in hairography.
[14:08] Andrew: Oh.
[14:08] Elijah: Not whatever they brought.
[14:10] Andrew: Well, I think that they needed to have that.
[14:12] Andrew: They needed the, they needed the place to grow, right?
[14:15] Andrew: That, so three seasons later, four seasons later that they could, you know, they could really pull this out.
[14:21] Elijah: Yeah.
[14:22] Elijah: But I, I, I love it.
[14:23] Elijah: I mean, what can you say?
[14:25] Elijah: It's Mrs. Santana Lopez perfection.
[14:28] Andrew: Um, but like when I think of like certain Glee songs, like when I, when these songs like first came out, I kind of like associate them with like specific places where I would be driving, listening to them.
[14:40] Elijah: So this song is driving to the New Jersey shore by myself.
[14:48] Amelia Otto: 17 years old, not hitting a single damn note.
[15:48] Elijah: I'm about to graduate college in a month.
[16:18] Amelia Otto: I'm 24.
[16:48] Elijah: I'm the elephant in the room.
[17:19] Amelia Otto: We can't wait to see you on the squad in the fall.
[17:22] Elijah: And I remember weirdly, people in the comments were roasting them.
[17:26] Amelia Otto: Roasting them being like, you know that she's not real, right?
[17:30] Elijah: She's not actually coming.
[17:32] Amelia Otto: And I'm like, where's the joie de vivre? Where's the fun? But I thought it was very, very cute. I'll post it. It's really, really cute.
[17:41] Elijah: Also, I don't know if you guys have seen this. Have you seen the Artemis 2 thong song?
[17:47] Amelia Otto: Okay.
[17:48] Elijah: Yes!
[17:49] Amelia Otto: That's not real.
[17:51] Elijah: Are you sure?
[17:52] Amelia Otto: Matthew Morrison posted it.
[17:53] Elijah: No, no, no, no, no. Cameo posted it as a joke.
[17:56] Amelia Otto: And then Matthew Morrison posted it. And all the comments, he finally liked a comment.
[18:00] Elijah: I thought, liked by author.
[18:02] Amelia Otto: Yeah, I saw that. Okay. I mean, there was a feeling inside of myself that I was hoping it was real.
[18:09] Elijah: But I know, out of everything, why would they pick that song?
[18:14] Amelia Otto: No, I thought it was in the realm of possibilities. That I was like, this might be so creepy.
[18:21] Elijah: I don't think it was. For me, I'm in Delulu land. It was making sense to me. That it made sense that I was like, I turned over to Elias. And I was like, this is really crazy. And then I actually did some more research. And I was like, yeah, I only saw that Cameo posted it. And I was like, oh, got it. But I did see people commented on Matthew's video. And they were like, could you imagine telling college-aged us that, like, one day your voice would be playing in space? And I was like, oh, no. Oh, my God. But, yeah. Not real. Debunked. Mythbusters.
[19:01] Amelia Otto: And then also, last thing I want to say about Nutbush City Limits is that listen to a lot of these voicemails talking about both songs. And not one person brought attention to the fact that I think it's so funny that at this point in time, Santana's not even on the cheerleading squad anymore. And she somehow convinced all of these girls to travel state lines for a three-minute performance.
[19:24] Elijah: Yeah. And that's what I was going to say. I said, how far did they travel? I wonder how far it actually is. Do we know?
[19:30] Amelia Otto: I think that this we have done this before. But you know what? Let's do it again.
[19:35] Elijah: Well, Kentucky to Lima, Ohio.
[19:38] Amelia Otto: Yeah, let's see. But I guess, I mean, you know what? They're back and forth from New York every two minutes. Like.
[19:43] Elijah: Oh.
[19:44] Amelia Otto: They can figure it out. Well, let's see. I just want to know how much time these girls are giving.
[19:49] Elijah: Okay, so it's a three-hour and 22-minute car ride. Four hour, like a nearly four-hour train.
[19:54] Amelia Otto: Okay. That's not bad.
[19:56] Elijah: It's not awful. But, like, that's far.
[19:58] Amelia Otto: I love that they, like, kind of, like, got into, like, an empty train car. And were able to rehearse on the way. You know what I mean? Like a homeless person. You know, like, in the movies.
[20:11] Elijah: Yeah. Where they have their little, like, nap sack.
[20:15] Amelia Otto: Yeah. These traveling cheerleaders. Yes. On our way back.
[20:20] Elijah: Because I love that, obviously, Santana sticks around for the rest of the week. But all these other girls, they leave. They all just leave. They're, like, well, there's nothing to do in Lima, Ohio. I guess we're going back to school.
[20:32] Amelia Otto: Well, no. Because Santana must have a car. She's driving back and forth to do her laundry. So she's back and forth often. That was, I just recently re-watched the breakup to be on Hannah Bale's video. Go check it out. And that line did take me out. That it's, like, she's traveling back to do laundry? Crazy.
[20:54] Elijah: Yeah. I live an hour from school. My mom does my laundry, like, once a month.
[21:01] Amelia Otto: Yeah. Just, like, what? And they do have, like, a funny line about, like, the water in Louisville is, like, from the Kentucky Derby.
[21:08] Elijah: Kentucky Derby runoff or something.
[21:10] Amelia Otto: Right. Which is funny, but. But, like, what if we just, now it's, does she have a car? I don't know if that's canon. But, like, or the train! But at the same time, because she hates the environment is what I'm understanding.
[21:21] Elijah: Yeah, basically.
[21:22] Amelia Otto: Basically. Canceled. Anything else that we need to say about Nutbush?
[21:28] Elijah: Ugh, I'm obsessed. Which I already said, but, like, I need to re-say. It's really, really fun. The energy is. I'm unique in that performance. Just. Following the choreo.
[21:38] Amelia Otto: Yeah. Obsessed.
[21:40] Elijah: Yeah. Are we saying older sister of Riverdeep Mountain High or younger sister?
[21:46] Amelia Otto: I think.
[21:47] Elijah: Cousin.
[21:48] Amelia Otto: You're saying cousin?
[21:49] Elijah: Cousin.
[21:50] Amelia Otto: Wait, low-key, yeah. Because it goes, like, I think Mercedes brings a different, like, energy. So then it's, like, when you branch out Santa and other, I think cousins is right, Elijah.
[21:59] Elijah: Cousins.
[22:00] Amelia Otto: Okay. Cousins on mom's side or dad's side? Because that's a big difference.
[22:03] Elijah: Mom's side.
[22:04] Amelia Otto: Mom.
[22:05] Elijah: Mom.
[22:06] Amelia Otto: We don't talk to dad.
[22:07] Elijah: The dad's side.
[22:08] Amelia Otto: I feel cousins on my dad's side.
[22:09] Elijah: Oh, God. No. Massey.
[22:12] Amelia Otto: Okay. So I think I have a hunch of what the final song of this round will be, but let's see.
[22:26] Elijah: Imagine it's, like, not.
[22:27] Amelia Otto: I know. I was, like, really scared when I looked into the cupboards. It's Crush.
[22:31] Elijah: Like, if there's a third song in here, I don't know what I'm going to do.
[22:36] Amelia Otto: But it is, of course, one less bell to answer. Mashed up with A House Is Not A Home.
[22:43] Elijah: Mind you, they're repeating a song they already sang in this episode.
[22:46] Amelia Otto: Okay, but they're low-key, like, not. They're, like, doing just, like, a little. It's almost like a Turkey Lurkey time where they're, like, inserting just, like, one part of the song into it.
[22:57] Elijah: And that's what the mashup is, yes?
[22:59] Amelia Otto: No, yeah. I believe so, yeah.
[23:01] Elijah: Is this the only time they've done- repeating songs minus 100, is this the only time that's happened?
[23:11] Amelia Otto: Um, this is the only time-
[23:13] Elijah: Wait, no, that's not true at all.
[23:15] Amelia Otto: Wait. Ignore me.
[23:17] Elijah: Oh yeah. Because we got Don't Stop Believing. We got Drunk. Like, a lot of times. We got We Gotta Stay By You. We got, yes, yeah.
[23:26] Amelia Otto: Yeah, so never mind. But this is the only time that we had, like, a version proper and then we had a mashup version.
[23:35] Elijah: Yeah.
[23:36] Amelia Otto: So, you're correct in that regard.
[23:38] Elijah: No, I'm so wrong.
[23:39] Amelia Otto: It's okay.
[23:40] Elijah: No, stop.
[23:41] Amelia Otto: It's okay. No, it's okay. I can be wrong.
[23:45] Elijah: They're going to bed, but we're waking up because the song's over. Come on.
[23:52] Amelia Otto: Um, what do we think? One less bell to answer. I feel rejuvenated. What is everyone thinking?
[24:00] Elijah: Elijah, come on.
[24:03] Elijah: So, here's the thing. There are a lot of songs that I have sort of passed over over the years.
[24:12] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[24:13] Elijah: And because this song, you know, spoiler alert, was going to be in this episode, I started listening to it. And, you know, something in my head here switched.
[24:27] Amelia Otto: Really?
[24:28] Elijah: Yeah, I love it. But it wasn't until, like, this past week.
[24:34] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[24:35] Elijah: Like, I had, whenever I would, you know, see the title, I would just skip over it. Wouldn't even pay it a second.
[24:43] Amelia Otto: But now, if it were to come on again on Shuffle, I would play it.
[24:48] Elijah: What were your, like, general thoughts of the song prior to this week?
[24:52] Amelia Otto: Just, that's another song?
[24:54] Elijah: Yeah, so, as you know, and I believe I brought this up in my previous appearance, you know, I am a Kristen Chenoweth lover. Home, one of my favorites. This is just, she has so many good ones. So, Home, Last Name is a good one. And they even have better duets. Like, Fire is a really good one.
[25:19] Amelia Otto: I love Fire. Fire is so good.
[25:22] Elijah: It wasn't more that, like, I disliked the song. It was just, it sort of fell to the wayside because, you know, these are here. I want to focus on these. But now that this is here, it's, you know, I'm definitely going to give it more and more listens when it comes on. And honestly, like, honorable shout out to, not in the glacket, but in my heart, Nice to Meet You, Have I Slept With You is so great. And, like, honestly, why do they not put it on iTunes? Because it's, like, it, like, truly is. I'm not even, like, ironically saying this. It's, like, the lyrics are so funny. But then, like, also she's, like, doing, it's, like, a classic Kristen Chenoweth song, like a Taylor the Latte Boy, you know it. Come on.
[26:07] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[26:08] Elijah: Taylor the Latte Boy, where she's, like, presenting this story. But then also she's hitting the Kristen Chenoweth notes. And so, like, you get the entire package. I love this.
[26:20] Amelia Otto: No, I do love it, too. I think it's, like, a very different kind of, like, love. Because I think, no, but she's, like, high energy, like, audio medium. I'm sparkling fireworks in my hands. Glitter in the air.
[26:35] Elijah: Glitter is in the air.
[26:37] Amelia Otto: Classic. Like, I think this is very season one. And I think that the nostalgia is different for me as someone who watched it all at once rather than, like, you, Andrew. I don't know, Elijah, what you're watching was.
[26:48] Elijah: But I think it still feels, like, early glee.
[26:55] Elijah: Wait, yo, Elijah, what was you're watching?
[26:57] Elijah: Um, I was very off and on. My grandma, actually, was the one who introduced me to the show. She was, like, because, you know, growing up, I did, like, musical theater. I did singing, you know, acting, dancing. And she knew, like, that was what I enjoyed. She was, like, oh, this show came out. I think you'd really like it. So I started watching it. And majority, and I don't know how this will age me or make me look. But most of the time I watched Glee, it was on Netflix on the Wii.
[27:35] Amelia Otto: Netflix on the Wii is such a very specific frame.
[27:41] Elijah: Yes. Thank goodness. That's so iconic. Yeah, but, yeah, I was sort of, like, I don't think I ever watched the show live either.
[27:52] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[27:53] Elijah: So I was sort of a late bloomer. Like, it was in my mind. I would just watch the episodes as they came out. But it took me a couple years to get through it.
[28:01] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[28:02] Elijah: And, you know, I'm more, and cancel me for this. I've only watched the show through once.
[28:08] Amelia Otto: Okay.
[28:09] Elijah: Wait, but, like, you've gone back and watched specific episodes?
[28:14] Amelia Otto: Wait, that's crazy. Really? You've only seen every episode once?
[28:18] Elijah: I started re-watching a while ago. I sort of dropped off. So here's the thing. I'm a very music-inclined person. So even though I haven't, you know, watched, fully watched through the show in a while, I try to pick up on it over time. It's just, you know, Glee is one of those commitments. And I don't know if I can handle that.
[28:46] Amelia Otto: You're an all-or-nothing Glee caster to my Glee cast.
[28:48] Elijah: Yeah.
[28:49] Amelia Otto: Yeah. So, but, like, the music has been a part of my life for years. Like, they've been my top artist on Spotify for ten years almost.
[28:59] Elijah: Yeah.
[29:00] Amelia Otto: So it's, it's more, like, yeah, I'm, like, I get the clues, and I know what you guys are talking about when you're talking about the episodes, but for some of these episodes it has been so long that I'm like, did that actually happen?
[29:36] Elijah: A little bit here and then, you know, sort of drop off for a little bit, pick back up, yeah, continue watching it. And then I think I finally like I finished it like 2015, 2016.
[29:48] Amelia Otto: Wow. Yeah. And then recently, I did try watching it again. But you know, stuff, stuff gets in the way. And I said, I don't think I really like this show too much.
[29:57] Elijah: Yeah, no, I love, I love the show. And I mean, this, this podcast has sort of brought me, brought me back into it. And you guys are talking about like the breakup and I'm like, you know what, maybe I should stop and watch the breakup or Asian F. But yeah, it's, you know, I'm, I'm not Amelia. What rewatch are you on, Amelia?
[30:24] Amelia Otto: I lost count after like, probably 20. But I see, I don't understand, like the way that I'm rewatching it. And also, Amelia, I feel so bad because I interrupted what you were saying earlier to ask Elijah.
[30:37] Elijah: That's okay. The thought was complete. Okay, back to it. But keep going.
[30:41] Amelia Otto: No, I was just saying that it's like a kind of season one nostalgia regardless of the viewing experience. Yeah, which I feel like it feels like if you didn't know that, well, obviously, like, the way what I'm gonna say makes no sense. But if you didn't know the show so well, and you had to place that, like song into a season, like, I think it'd be very easy to place it into season one.
[31:04] Elijah: Season one. Yeah. I, I just think it's so interesting, because I thought like everybody was kind of, everybody was kind of doing it like me, that like, I have like, I have watched it through, like the first like the when it was as it came out. And I feel like when the episodes came out, then I would watch it again the day after just as like a little like, okay, let's really like take in this episode again. So that's like already two. And then I would just be like, I would know the episode so well that I would just be like, okay, well, I wouldn't go back to this when I go on. I'm not like, I can't remember the last, I guess it since it aired, watching it in succession. Yeah, I haven't, like, I'm the type of person when I start something, I want to start from the beginning, I want to watch every episode through and through.
So I don't usually like popcorn pick, you know, an episode here there. I like, like, I think the last time I started rewatching was like, almost a year ago, I think the last time I was on. Yeah. So like April, and I only got to like throw down and then sort of stuff got in the way. Okay. But yeah, I mean, it's it's definitely one of those shows that I would love to like introduce to somebody that doesn't know how, if for some reason they haven't heard about it. And just absolutely blow their mind. Yeah. But yeah, the music, like, even though, you know, I'm not rewatching it 20 plus times. Hey, I know. Yeah, yeah. I just the music is, yeah, the music has played such an important part in my life.
Like, you know, if I'm having a rough day, I'm, you know, have anxiety or depression, just putting on some of these songs and, like, feeling the joy, like, I wish I would have watched it live. But, you know, I wasn't that lucky, I guess. But um, you have it now. And I love that your grandmom and like, gave it to you as well. That's so special.
[33:13] Elijah: Yeah, she did. And I'm pretty sure she watched every episode live as it came out. So wait, is she is she still with us?
[33:28] Amelia Otto: Yes, she okay. Does she know that you're doing all this? You're this involved in the fandom? I feel like you need to let her know.
[33:34] Elijah: I will. I've told the rest of my family. Yeah. Just hasn't hasn't gotten to her yet. But I will definitely tell her no, that's so special. Um, what did I want to say? Oh, yeah, this song, the nutbush of it all like being like driving down to the shore. One less bell to answer was also Elijah kind of like, similarly, it was it took a while for me to really get it. Because I didn't get it until I was in my sophomore year of college. And I remember I would set up my laptop outside of my bathroom inside my dorm. I live by myself. I don't want you to think that I'm a menace and just play for everybody to hear but I'm sure that people could hear it in the hallway. But I would like, like kind of just like have it repeating like, you know, like where it's like, as soon as it's over, I'm playing it again.
Yeah. And yeah. So like, probably like two times on it while I'm in the shower. And then it's like that. I just like, remember that was like, is that like your shower timer? You know, like this? Yeah, the song is five minutes long. That means that it's it's played twice. I've been in the shower for 10 minutes. I need and yeah, I can't listen to this talk a third time. I'm going to prune up. Um, but yeah, I this I'm glad that this like, did kind of reach me, you know, because it's so good. I know that we need to like bring attention to the fact that like, okay, I remember we were talking about in relation to Happy Days Are Here Again, Get Happy that this is that's already a mashup that already exists.
This song as well is a borrowed mashup that that like, this is a mashup that already existed. And so does that take away points for you? Because this is the Barbra Streisand version of House is Not a Home mashup with one last spell to answer?
[35:34] Elijah: I think no, I think when I think Glee mashups, this is not one that's coming to mind. I'm thinking like Halo Walking on Sunshine and like, really in your least loved ones. So I don't like I don't know that I would like, not that it's not in the same category, but I don't know that I'm immediately like mentally connecting them. Yeah, so I think because there's that disconnect, I don't care.
[35:54] Amelia Otto: Yeah. Elijah, do you care?
[35:58] Elijah: I mean, I honestly, I had no idea that it was a borrowed mashup. So yeah, so it doesn't make too much of a difference. But yeah, the main difference is with like, Glee, when they do these covers, they make it their own. So even if it is borrowed, like it has its own identity. I mean, probably apart from Happy, you know, Get Happy, because that's basically they're doing the whole big thing. Yeah, that's the same because that's a duet that they did as a duet. Whereas this song is like a Barbra Streisand. Ooh, are we I don't I mean, I should have looked this up ahead of time if she was like kind of the her and her team were behind putting these two songs together if that was if that was her concept.
But that was only her that they now made into a duet in the show. And also, I don't know if you know this, but in like, kind of soaking in both of these songs for the past week, that I saw that like, Matthew Morrison and Kristin Chenoweth at like a Barbra Streisand event around the airing of this episode, they performed this duet to her.
[37:14] Amelia Otto: I think that that's the one yeah, she she sings. She sings My Man and then like also I think this I might be complaining a few different events. But then also Idina Menzel sings Drop. Do you know about this?
[37:25] Elijah: Not familiar.
[37:26] Amelia Otto: And then it cuts to Barbra Streisand. Oh, I was making a joke.
[37:31] Elijah: No. Okay. Yes. Lea Michele has performed My Man for Barbra. And also Darren Criss and the Warblers like literally dress as the Warblers sang What Kind of Fool. I've seen that one. You know about this to Barbra as well. So yes. They had those that Glee cast being like, hey, we gotta we gotta pay respect to this woman that we keep on referencing in every single episode. Yeah.
[38:08] Elijah: Okay, so what else do we need to say about this song before we vote?
[38:13] Amelia Otto: Another iconic mashup.
[38:14] Elijah: Yeah, true. I just I'm like, are they hearing each other and they're starting they're singing at the same time. Like what's the storyline? Well, no, I guess she like puts in the tape and then it plays so then she starts singing maybe he picks up and then like that makes a lot more sense. If Matthew Morrison kissed me on the forehead, I would be out of there. I would leave. No. That would be uncomfy. Matthew Morrison is this number we need to be actually so real. Sexy, sexy man. Touch a touch a touch me. Sexy, sexy man. No, the v-neck in this. It's we're not liking the v-neck. Okay, well, that's okay.
[39:02] Elijah: We're in the Glee Club. We're all minorities. And I saw that there was there was a person that left a voicemail asking if posing the question to us if April and Will hooked up after this number. Do you have a headcanon? Like low-key, I think they just slept.
[39:17] Amelia Otto: Elijah.
[39:18] Elijah: Yeah, you disagree.
[39:19] Amelia Otto: No, I don't know. It's because I mean, at this point, you know, he was struggling with, you know, everything with Terry. Yeah. So it's like, that doesn't make sense in my mind that they hooked up. And yeah, and I feel like the connection he has with April is different than the connection he has with Emma.
[39:42] Elijah: Oh yeah. Like, Emma is like, it's built up over years. This one with April. It's just like, it's like a sudden fling, a sudden burst of energy there. She's yes. Suddenly in his bed.
[40:00] Amelia Otto: Yeah. I do have an actual I hate posing this question and then being like, there is an answer. But I rewatched their scenes in the episode. And they have a scene after. And April says, like, all we did was sleep. And Will was like, all you did was sleep. I was like, I was woken up by your snoring or something like that. So they didn't do anything. I think that maybe they like spooned. I'm gonna say.
[40:27] Elijah: Yeah. All right. Yeah, emotional, emotional support. Schuster. Yeah. Oh, you're gunning for that title of that. I see your game. Um, okay. What else? Um, oh, and then I was just like a thought came to me that like, I was thinking that if they cast us like a, like a singer as Terry, that we would have gotten like numbers like this between Will and Terry. Yes. But then I was also thinking on the other side that it's like, I think that Terry really works as like a character in this show that is like, I don't want to fucking sing. Like, don't involve me, you know? Well, so I feel like if if they would have had a song like, like that, I feel like how to be a heartbreaker would have been would have been that may be too on the nose. But, oh, my wait. I'm obsessed with that. And then like, Terry is doing the little like, um, Lee Michelle. Yeah. Yeah. Whatever it will take.
[41:29] Elijah: Yeah. Oh, great. Since you're bringing that up. Do you have if any specific songs that you think that they would have done? I have always said that like, I think that a really fun Terry and Quinn duet would be Funny Honey from Chicago. Do you know this song?
[41:54] Amelia Otto: Yeah, that's so fun. That like, Quinn is singing about Finn. And then Will is I mean, then Terry is singing about Will. And so I'm like, there's something there. I love I love um, anything else that we need to add? Gowns, beautiful gowns.
[42:14] Elijah: Beautiful gowns. Beautiful nightgowns. Beautiful nightgowns.
[42:18] Amelia Otto: There we go. Another front runner. Um, okay. Um, what are your votes? I mean, you've had time to kind of prepare.
[42:25] Elijah: No, but I kind of like intentionally didn't. And now I'm stressed.
[42:30] Amelia Otto: Me neither.
[42:32] Elijah: Oh, really? Wait, I have an answer. But like, I'm kind of like scared to say.
[42:35] Amelia Otto: Yeah, what about will you go first, Andrew?
[42:43] Elijah: Um, my you're not. Okay. Keep going. I'll be in the hot seat. I am going for one less spell to answer house is not a home. I think that there is and like listening, I was like, really swayed by these beautiful voice mails that you guys that you both will hear that like, the way that people are.
[43:03] Amelia Otto: Yeah, so are the voicemails playing a factor? Or is it just us three?
[43:08] Elijah: So it's all we also we count as each one vote, but then also there are a number of votes as well. From Okay, so that sort of takes it off of us a little bit. So yeah, our fault. Okay, good. Yeah. Um, so I will say that like that that was, it was nice to the way that like people were describing when the spell to answer that like, there's like such like a hot like a journey kind of, but then like not push city limits is like kind of like maintaining this like really great 100%. But like, I kind of like this, like gradual, I prefer like a gradual build up. And then like kind of like ending. It just like feels like a roller coaster. Really? It's perfect.
[43:55] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[43:57] Elijah: Amelia, I said, Can you go because I have I have a lot of things that I'm thinking,
[44:01] Amelia Otto: you know, I have always been a fan of ballads. So I think in this case, I'm gonna have to go for one less spell.
[44:11] Elijah: Okay, so now I feel comfortable voting. I don't know if I want to call it a pity vote for Nutbush because I do love her down. But I also do think that like, where we are in the glock it like,
[45:25] Andrew: I wasn't asking the Instagram Gleeks, I put out the request to be like, hi, listen to the episode, I want to know that you actually listened to the episode, that you understand the ramifications, and you're not just like, I'm voting for this and I don't know what this podcast is, but boo boo boo boo. So anyway, I loved all of these, what, 26 plus 17, how much is that? Um, that is 43 voicemails that were received. And here is all 43 voicemails right now in the episode. They really, truly, it is so much fun to listen to them. So and thank you so much. It like literally made this past week where I was having big time hardship, like getting the little notifications every time that was like a new voicemail, where it would say like the little like transcriptions would be like, Hi, Greek, because they don't know, because it would say, yeah, because, yeah, Gleek, but then like the transcriptions would think that they're saying Greek, Greek of the week, Greek of the week.
And one person said, Hi, it's, it's Carrie Anne. And the transcription was Hi, it's Korean. Which I thought was so funny. But here are all the voicemails. Um, so much fun. Thank you again for everybody that was a part of this, this competition. Here you go.
[47:06] Andrew: Hey, it's Editing Andrew narrating the voicemail portion of this episode. Okay, so first up, we have voicemails from Allison Dodge, Kristen and Jack.
[47:14] Allison Dodge: Hi, Gleek. It's Allison Dodge here. When considering the question one less bell to answer to slash a house is not a home versus Nutbush city limits. I just sat down watch the MP fours. One less bell. Yeah, it's good. I was always confused on why a house is not a home is also here. Don't we sing that at a different time? But it's good. I mean, Kristen Chenoweth, Matthew Morrison. Yeah, okay. I get it. The part that scratches my brain the most when I climbed the stairs. So good. Um, but what takes me out is Kristen getting into bed with a full face of makeup on wills white pillowcases. I'd be pissed. Um, Nutbush city limits. I see your when I climbed the stairs and I raise you go to church every Sunday.
I am obsessed with this song. I feel like I'm just my life is just in a trajectory. That's more Nutbush city limits. I think that's going to be an unpopular opinion. But I think my vote is going to be for Nutbush city because who doesn't love some bushes and some nuts? You know what I mean? How did Santana convince them to come to Lime, Ohio and do that three minute song? I'll never know. But not bush. I think it's going to be an unpopular opinion. But Oh, God. Okay. Love you. Bye.
[48:31] Kristen: Hi, this is Kristen. See her and Elder Gleek. I wanted to call and pick my song for final competition. But I have to say between Nutbush city limits and one last bell to answer a house is not a home that neither one of them is really a contender as far as I'm concerned for the best song on Glee. But of the two with one last bell to answer April and will sound really great together. The song blends so well. I didn't actually even realize they were singing two different songs. Whereas Nutbush, I mean, Naya is amazing. I love the reactions of the New Directions watching but just surrounded by these rando cheerleaders we never see again. And the song itself, I think is just kind of repetitive and really not that good. So apologies, Nutbush fans, but I have to go with one last bell to answer a house is not a home. Thanks. Bye.
[49:15] Jack: Hi, this is Jack from the infamous survivor. I will survive paradise by the dashboard light competition in round two. I'm casting my vote for Nutbush city limits, despite the fact that it's a much better song than a house is not a home, which I genuinely skip over every single time I do a rewatch. I think it's too long, too boring. I don't get the obsession. The Nutbush city limits has become and has always been a really weird cultural staple in Australia, where when that song comes on, Australians are trained to do the Nutbush dance. It's really weird because the song has nothing to do with anything in Australia. But we're taught this dance from a young age. And if you go to any social function and the song comes on, you will see all these Australians all in a line doing like a line dance, sort of like a routine to this song.
So it's very strange. I feel like I have to vote for it for that reason, despite the fact, again, that it's a better song than a house is not a home. And of course, Queen Naya, Queen Santana, how could you not? All right, that's it. Thank you so much, Andrew, for all the content you provide and congrats on making it to the end of round three. Very keen for round four. All right, bye bye.
[50:30] Andrew: Okay, with those three voicemails, our tally is officially at two votes for Nutbush, one vote for one less bell to answer a house is not a home. Up next, we're looking at voicemails from Becca, Charlie and Casey.
[50:52] Becca: Hi, this is Becca from Tennessee. In my opinion, I would have to give my vote to Nutbush City Limit. Like you can not deny the vocals that Naya Rivera has on that song. And in my opinion, if not her best vocal, maybe, possibly. And I just love the reactions of everybody actually performed, like, especially Kevin McHale and his classic, you know, that's him not already reactions during songs. And also Alex Newell doing the choreography in the background with her as they are watching. I just, I just absolutely love it. And that is why I cast my vote for Nutbush City Limit. Okay, bye.
[51:50] Charlie: Hi, Andrew. Hi, Gleeks. It's Charlie, famous villain of the Glockenspiel, longtime fan, longtime supporter. Andrew, congratulations on finishing round three. What an amazing journey this has been coming from the very beginning, just watching this community grow, the impact that the Glocken has had, both on our community and also on the Glee canon itself. So many original cast members that you've now built personal friendships with. So just congratulations, Andrew. I'm so proud of you. Congratulations, Allison. The impact that you've made from the beginning, just the legacy that y'all have left for this podcast is truly, truly remarkable. In regards to Nutbush City Limit versus A House is Not a Home.
I mean, it, the definition of musical theater is a house is not a home. It just, the April Rhodes will dynamic, the intimacy, the full journey they go on in a five-minute song. The fact that truly, it could be its own episode of the entire show. As much as I love Nutbush City Limit, I truly think it is the, the Santolo. It is her drop. But for me, it has always been A House is Not a Home. It is just perfection. It continuously finds itself at the top of my Spotify wrapped. I stream at least once a week, most of the time once a day. And so as problematic as they can be, it is just Kirsten Chenoweth, Matthew Morrison. They were really in their bag with that one. And so it has to be that. But like I said, just thank you so much for the gift that is Gleek of the Week.
It has been there for me in my lowest of lows and highest of highs. And I'm just so grateful, Andrew, to call you one of my closest and dearest friends. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Love y'all so much. Have an awesome day, an awesome spring, and let's have an amazing round four. So yeah, love y'all. Thanks so much. Bye-bye.
[54:07] Kasey: Hello, all Gleeky girls, gays, and theys. This is Kasey, pronouns they them. I'm going to cast my vote for One Less Spell to Answer. Let's just say it is cinematic excellence. Also, this is going to be like a full ramble that like I have no notes for. I'm literally just like going off the hat. Okay. One Less Spell to Answer, cinematic excellence. The making the bed. We're making like a full artistic picture out of such a, one might say, tedious household task. And like, not that City Limits iconic, but like, as far as Sans Holos go, not necessarily number one. But as far as Willowith and Kristen Chenoweth Peck, that needs to be workshopped. As far as that goes, it's peak. Dare I say, Matthew Morrison's best vocal.
Definitely not K-Town's best vocal. However, she had her iconic moments in Maybe This Time, even though she's not necessarily our favorite anymore. We can still, we can stand her work in all. We can separate the art from the artist in One Less Spell to Answer, House is Not a Home. Casting my vote for that. I hope everyone agrees with me. And I'm really not ready to be jump-scared by my own voice when I'm listening back to the podcast. So sorry, future me. I'm gonna have to pull over the car.
[55:41] Andrew: All right, with those six voicemails in total, we have three votes for Nutbush and three votes for One Less Spell to Answer. Up next, we are looking at voicemails from Amon, Calloway, and Selma.
[55:48] Amon: Hey, Gleek. Hey, Andrew. Okay, this is, okay. Oh, by the way, it's Amon. Sorry. Nutbush City Limits versus House is Not a Home. Like, listen, I listened to Kristen Chenoweth and what's-his-face sing that song, like, so many times, like, my sophomore year of high school. Like, I would listen to it while I was doing the dishes. I would listen to it when I was happy. I would listen to it when I was sad. Like, that, they were, they, the vocals on that are tight. Okay, they ate that shit up. Nutbush City Limits. Like, it's physically impossible to not have an eargasm at the very last note that Naya screams out at the end of that song. Like, oh my god, it's just like, it's crazy. Oh my god. Okay, I think I have to give it to Kristen Chenoweth here.
I think I just have to because I just love how overly rot the song is. How, like, like, you know, Mr. Shoe was in a weird spot in his life at this time. Like, things are mad, bad with Harry and, and Kristen is kind of just there. And it's like, did they have sex? Did they not have, like, it was just an interesting scene and just, like, very, very campy, but very, very good and honest and sincere. So I, you know, we all love some Naya Rivera, but I gotta give it, I gotta give it to that one.
[57:19] Calloway: Andrew, Gleeks, it's Calloway, she, her. Don't worry, I will keep it concise because you know I took notes. Here's the thing about this final Galacket Round competition. I know it's always good to start an argument by acknowledging the counter-argument. So I will sing the praises for a bit of Nutbush City Limits. I want to start first and foremost, it's always kind of harder to argue for a song with a complicated name or where there's multiple names of it on the Galacket. I do feel like One Less Bell, House is Not a Home struggles with that because of that long title and because House is Not a Home was already in the episode, this whole thing, whatever. So that is kind of working against it.
I would also say in favor of Nutbush, it's the raw power of Santana. Like, need I say more? I'm not going to, but I, I see it. I acknowledge it. I understand it. I would argue she's even stronger. My argument is going to be a vote in favor for One Less Bell, House is Not a Home, mostly on the merit of the music itself. Nutbush starts in one place and it stays in that place the whole time. There's not a lot of crescendo, decrescendo, up and down. It's sort of like go, go, go. And for a song that's go, go, go, it's honestly a little bit long for what it is when you consider the power of some really like short songs that pack a lot of punch. Honestly, I'm thinking like the vocal adrenaline baddies.
Here's also where I will say, One Less Bell, House is Not a Home, justice for the adults. This is one of the early season storylines where the adult storyline actually makes sense with what's going on. It doesn't feel super shoehorned and it shines. No one's being insanely problematic in their interaction with teenagers. Matthew Morrison gets a chance to look and sound great and April Rose is iconic and better than Holly Holiday. So despite the teenage lesbians of Nutbush, I understand, but I'm gonna vote One Less Bell, House is Not a Home. Happy glocking!
[59:11] Thelma: Hey Andrew, it's Thelma.
[59:14] Andrew: I'm putting in my vote for the season 3 finale, and I'm officially casting my vote for Nut Bush.
[59:20] Andrew: Now, I will be happy if either of these songs go through, and sad if either of them lose, but that's where my vote's going.
[59:27] Andrew: It's kind of a strategic move slash defensive move, because I know that if Nut Bush loses, it's going to dominate the vote back, and Hung Up has zero chance of coming back, which is my top pick to come back in the moment.
[59:40] Andrew: I do think House is Not a Home, Mom, Let's Go to End, to have a good choice of coming back.
[59:45] Andrew: So, because it is a Will Schuster song, it doesn't have as much juice as Nut Bush does.
[59:51] Andrew: Also, I'm thinking strategically which song is going to make it the furthest, which I think is more important to think about as we're getting into the round four and the top 100 songs in the show.
[1:00:01] Andrew: And again, the mashup is amazing, but because it's a Mr. Schu song, I can't see it making it as far as Nut Bush.
[1:00:08] Andrew: Nut Bush is going to make it to at least round six or seven.
[1:00:11] Andrew: I think the mashup's going to make it to maybe round five, but that's my reasoning.
[1:00:16] Andrew: Now, our tally is at four for Nut Bush and five for One Less Bell to Answer, A House Is Not a Home.
[1:00:23] Andrew: Up next, we're looking at voicemails from Alexa, Cassidy, and Jake.
[1:00:28] Alexa: Gleeks, it is Alexa, aka Artie's Biggest Fan, and I'm here to cast my vote in this competition of all competitions.
[1:00:36] Alexa: And of course, my vote would have to be for Nut Bush City Limits, Miss Santana Lopez.
[1:00:42] Alexa: I can appreciate and do appreciate One Less Bell to Answer, A House Is Not a Home for all it gave to us in season one.
[1:00:49] Alexa: However, you just can't outdo the doer.
[1:00:52] Alexa: You just can't.
[1:00:54] Alexa: That's like the best Santana performances of all time, period.
[1:00:58] Alexa: One of the best Glee songs of all time.
[1:01:00] Alexa: I just, it gives me chills, you know.
[1:01:02] Alexa: So I'm going to cast my vote for Nut Bush City Limits, and I implore you all to do the same. Thank you.
[1:01:08] Cassidy: Hi, Andrew. My name is Cassidy, and my vote is for Nut Bush City Limits.
[1:01:13] Cassidy: It is one of my top three Glee songs and could be the winner of my glacket, depending on my mood.
[1:01:18] Cassidy: The performance is very fun to watch, and it's one of the best shows ever done on the show. Thank you.
[1:01:24] Jake: Hey, Gleeks. This is Jake from the Rachel Is Vegan Meatloaf Live episode.
[1:01:29] Jake: As I was listening to the last episode, I was trying to decide which matchup of songs would be the best to ensure that my favorites would go through, and Nut Bush versus One Less Bell was the worst matchup combo I could have imagined, yet here we are.
[1:01:42] Jake: I think this matchup is really going to define the two types of Gleeks.
[1:01:47] Jake: I do love both of these songs, but I feel like it is my duty to vote for One Less Bell.
[1:01:53] Jake: Losing Nut Bush is devastating, but how many Santolos can we keep with us all the way until the end?
[1:01:59] Jake: We already have Songbird in mind.
[1:02:01] Jake: They're still here carrying our Santolo representation in the glacket, and we also have Santana performing on the glacket with Smooth Criminal, Me Against the Music, and Riverdeep Mountain High.
[1:02:12] Jake: I think these are definitely more popular or notable performances from Santana's repertoire.
[1:02:17] Jake: Meanwhile, One Less Bell is a cinematic masterpiece.
[1:02:21] Jake: It's one of the only times I can watch a scene with Mr. Shoe without an ounce of cringe.
[1:02:26] Jake: His chemistry with Kristen is phenomenal, and they are giving a masterclass of Broadway vocals.
[1:02:32] Jake: The whole sequence comes in at about four and a half minutes, which is a rare time in Glee that they are not rushing through a song to get to the next song or the next point of story or dialogue.
[1:02:43] Jake: Kristen and Matthew, they are really giving the time to act and give a really emotional performance that I think pays off so well.
[1:02:51] Jake: This isn't like the typical high-energy, upbeat performance that so many Gleeks love, but I hope enough Gleeks understand how blessed we are to have witnessed this performance.
[1:03:01] Jake: The matchup of these two songs worked incredibly well together, and One Less Bell ultimately deserves to move forward in the glacket, so I am voting One Less Bell.
[1:03:11] Jake: I hope it can move forward. Thank you!
[1:03:14] Andrew: All right, we're 12 voicemails deep into this, and we are at a tie.
[1:03:19] Andrew: Six votes for Nutbush and six votes for One Less Bell to answer, A House is Not a Home.
[1:03:25] Andrew: Up next, we're looking at voicemails from Alyssa, a.k.a. Garugi, Patrick, and David.
[1:03:32] Alyssa: Hello, this is Alyssa, a.k.a. Garugi.
[1:03:36] Alyssa: I did not realize that I had you as Gleek of the Week after contact in my phone.
[1:03:42] Alyssa: I am here to submit my vote for This House is Not a Home, One Less Bell to answer.
[1:03:48] Alyssa: It was tough. I listened to both.
[1:03:51] Alyssa: I thought about it hard because I do love Nutbush a lot, but it was just gorgeous.
[1:03:57] Alyssa: Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. This House is Not a Home was so gorgeous.
[1:04:01] Alyssa: It has a theatricality. I teared up.
[1:04:03] Alyssa: I don't know. I haven't watched that performance in so long, and it was so gorgeous.
[1:04:08] Alyssa: I just loved it.
[1:04:09] Alyssa: I loved also just how much story that they had in that performance.
[1:04:13] Alyssa: That says a lot to me.
[1:04:15] Alyssa: Nutbush is great, but the two pieces of statements were, she's a diva, and Brittany's dating Sam.
[1:04:23] Alyssa: Yep, which is great.
[1:04:25] Alyssa: It's, again, a fantastic song, but so much story happened inside of a mashup of two songs, of like two theatrical songs that both have separate context, and somehow they combined both contexts together and added new Glee related context with April and Will.
[1:04:48] Alyssa: Just beautiful.
[1:04:50] Alyssa: Side note, I also performed a parody version of This House is Not a Home using the Glee version as a reference as a rat in a sketch two years ago on stage.
[1:05:03] Alyssa: It was beautiful, and that is honestly really pulling for me personally.
[1:05:09] Alyssa: Love you, Andrew. Bye.
[1:05:11] Patrick: Hey, Gleeks. It's Patrick.
[1:05:13] Patrick: Quite a tough competition.
[1:05:16] Patrick: I think I'm going to have to go with, well, let's start the answer, The House is Not a Home.
[1:05:21] Patrick: And so it's tough because while I didn't agree with all of Nutbush's perspectives, I could appreciate some of them.
[1:05:32] Patrick: I think that Nutbush might lose this one.
[1:05:36] Patrick: Such a sad, senseless, disgusting thing to happen, but I'm really going to put my vote behind The House is Not a Home.
[1:05:44] Patrick: We are one less spell to answer A House is Not a Home, and don't anyone ever forget that.
[1:05:50] Patrick: Bye.
[1:05:51] David: Hi, y'all. David here.
[1:05:53] David: Long-time listener, first-time caller, and the infinite jazz ghost from the season two finale.
[1:05:58] David: So here's the way in my competition.
[1:05:59] David: My competition? It's not my competition.
[1:06:01] David: I'm going to vote for Controversy.
[1:06:03] David: A House is Not a Home, one less spell to answer.
[1:06:05] David: Because while Nutbush is phenomenal and great and amazing, and Nyirah sounds phenomenal, I got a little dizzy watching it.
[1:06:11] David: Like, the edit is kind of crazy, right?
[1:06:15] David: Like, it jumps from, like, writer's face to, like, front-dancing camera to side-dancing camera to back-dancing camera.
[1:06:22] David: And then, like, it just jumped around so much.
[1:06:24] David: I was like, this is great.
[1:06:25] David: And also, like, this is kind of crazy.
[1:06:27] David: First, like, one less spell, which you get to appreciate, like, the emotion and, like, the camera work.
[1:06:33] David: And, like, it's not too crazy, so I don't get too dizzy.
[1:06:35] David: So you get to appreciate versus, like, ooh.
[1:06:37] David: Again, Nutbush is phenomenal.
[1:06:39] David: You know, just from, like, all watching, like, MP4.
[1:06:41] David: It's great. It's phenomenal.
[1:06:42] David: And also, I just got dizzy.
[1:06:43] David: I didn't get to appreciate it as much.
[1:06:44] David: So one less spell to answer.
[1:06:46] David: April Rose, Will, y'all get my vote.
[1:06:48] David: Okay, bye.
[1:06:50] Andrew: All right. With that, we are at still six votes for Nutbush, but nine votes for one less spell to answer A House is Not a Home.
[1:06:58] Andrew: Next, we're looking at voicemails from Allison and Jim, Eduardo, and Sammy.
[1:07:03] Allison: Hello. You have reached Allison Reuger, previous guest on the pod.
[1:07:08] Allison: I'm joined here by my fiancee, against his will, Jim, who is here with me.
[1:07:12] Jim: We just watched both performances on our TV.
[1:07:16] Allison: First performance that we watched was one less spell to answer, slash A House is Not a Home.
[1:07:21] Allison: We gave those points for being a mashup.
[1:07:24] Allison: Of course, Glee did this better than anybody else.
[1:07:26] Allison: And the harmonies are great.
[1:07:28] Allison: Their voices sound great together.
[1:07:30] Allison: April kind of shows her soft side, like she's not the crackhead, which is cool.
[1:07:36] Jim: But then I surprised Jim with the mashup, or with the competition that we put on the next song, obviously Nutbush.
[1:07:45] Jim: And within the intro, I mean, you said, oh, yeah, it's Nutbush.
[1:07:49] Jim: Oh, yeah.
[1:07:50] Jim: Yeah.
[1:07:51] Jim: It's Nutbush for sure.
[1:07:53] Allison: Two votes for Nutbush.
[1:07:55] Allison: This song is Andrew, I Have Folded the Receipts.
[1:07:59] Allison: I saw that you said, when you were talking about this at the last competition, you said, quote, I don't know the spectacle of Nutbush, City Limits doesn't meet what it actually is sometimes, for me.
[1:08:12] Allison: You did say for me.
[1:08:13] Allison: And it meets the spectacle every single time for me.
[1:08:17] Allison: The vocals, specifically, Church Every Sunday, hits every fucking time.
[1:08:23] Allison: And then the choreo is giving through the whole performance, especially that little, like, backwards, hip-shaking walk that they do when she says, no whiskey for sale, you can't have no bail.
[1:08:36] Allison: It just fucking eats.
[1:08:38] Allison: So we have one vote for me for Nutbush, City Limits.
[1:08:42] Jim: Nutbush.
[1:08:44] Jim: April, like, she does have her soft side, but there's a lot of Schuster songs that are kind of the same vibe.
[1:08:54] Jim: And I feel like Santana, she doesn't have a whole lot of songs that are just, like, straight up Santana.
[1:09:01] Jim: And this is definitely one of them.
[1:09:03] Jim: Period.
[1:09:04] Jim: The attitude, the vocals, the choreo, it eats.
[1:09:07] Jim: 10 out of 10.
[1:09:08] Allison: So there's two votes.
[1:09:10] Allison: Love you, Glee of the Week. Bye!
[1:09:12] Eduardo: Hey, Andrew and friends, it's Eduardo.
[1:09:14] Eduardo: And I just wanted to come on here quick and cast my vote in the final competition of round three.
[1:09:18] Eduardo: I'm sure everyone's already said something, like, funny or insightful or, you know, whatever about these songs, so I'm just going to keep it, like, super short.
[1:09:24] Eduardo: The song that I think, like, I listen to more, that I respond to more, that really leaves me with that feeling of, like, glee, is One Less Spell to Answer, A House Is Not a Home.
[1:09:33] Eduardo: I think that that song is just so creative.
[1:09:35] Eduardo: I think it does so much with so little.
[1:09:38] Eduardo: I think it sounds amazing.
[1:09:40] Eduardo: And Will in that white v-neck is incredible.
[1:09:43] Eduardo: Nutbush is awesome, too, but I just, I don't see it.
[1:09:46] Eduardo: I think she sang, like, three times in that episode, and I don't think Nutbush was in the top two.
[1:09:50] Eduardo: I think that those other songs are a little bit stronger.
[1:09:53] Eduardo: But, yeah, I think that's what I'm going to vote for.
[1:09:56] Eduardo: I also think it's super rude of you to have Emilia on an episode where she can't send through a blow-low.
[1:10:01] Eduardo: Like, that's actually so annoying, because I need her to send all the blow-lows through.
[1:10:05] Eduardo: Well, that's all from me. Goodbye.
[1:10:09] Sammy: Hi, Andrew. This is Sammy, they, them pronouns.
[1:10:13] Sammy: It's a really tough, tight race.
[1:10:16] Sammy: Nutbush is so fun, and such a great performance, and obviously, you know, Santana and Naya, amazing, just absolutely incredible.
[1:10:26] Sammy: But I don't stream it.
[1:10:29] Sammy: I've never really got it.
[1:10:30] Sammy: I don't understand it.
[1:10:32] Sammy: But One Less Bell, I've been streaming since, ever since season one.
[1:10:35] Sammy: It's just so fucking good.
[1:10:39] Sammy: The performance is just so heart-breaking, just watching them, like, just sing about being so alone, and it's just so good.
[1:10:48] Sammy: So my vote is going to have, I just cannot vote against One Less Bell.
[1:10:53] Sammy: Also, it's got mash-up privilege going for it, so, like, it's got my vote.
[1:10:59] Sammy: Thank you.
[1:11:00] Andrew: That brings the tally now to eight votes for Nutbush, and 11 votes for One Less Bell to answer, A House Is Not A Home.
[1:11:07] Andrew: Up next, we're looking at voicemails from Hannah, Audrey, and Matt.
[1:11:12] Hannah: Hi, Andrew. Hi, Gleeks. This is Hannah.
[1:11:15] Hannah: I'm calling about the final competition to place my vote between The Motion Limit and One Less Bell, A House Is Not A Home.
[1:11:21] Hannah: This is such a hard competition, and there are so many songs that are going to run for, that should not be going to run for, above both of these songs.
[1:11:28] Hannah: These are both great girls, and so I'm sad to see one of them go.
[1:11:31] Hannah: But the one that has to go is Nutbush, because One Less Bell, A House Is Not A Home, is in the top ten songs on Glee, would vote for it over almost anything else, which is hard because I love Nutbush.
[1:11:40] Hannah: So it's no shit to Nutbush, but it's One Less Bell, A House Is Not A Home, because I was trying to think of, like, a word to describe it, and what I came up with is cinematic.
[1:11:47] Hannah: It's a cinematic experience.
[1:11:49] Hannah: Gotta love One Less Bell, A House Is Not A Home.
[1:11:51] Audrey: Hi, Andrew. This is Audrey, former Gleek of the Week, and I would like to cast my vote for Nutbush City Limits for the final competition of Round 3 of the Glockett. Thank you.
[1:12:01] Matt: Hey, Gleeks. It's Matt McGorry, officially just casting my final vote of Round 3.
[1:12:08] Matt: Happy end of Round 3, everybody.
[1:12:10] Matt: For, is this even a question, Nutbush City Limits.
[1:12:12] Matt: Let's get as much Santana as we can as deep into this competition as we can.
[1:12:16] Matt: Or if that's not your prerogative, I don't know.
[1:12:21] Matt: Tell me what your prerogative is, and maybe we can work something out, you know?
[1:12:25] Matt: Just kidding.
[1:12:26] Matt: But yeah, Nutbush City Limits, easily here.
[1:12:28] Matt: Santana shows up.
[1:12:29] Matt: She steals the show.
[1:12:31] Matt: She gets everyone's attention, even when she's no longer a part of the Gleek Club.
[1:12:35] Matt: She's back.
[1:12:36] Matt: And yeah, it's so much fun.
[1:12:39] Matt: It needs to be in the top 100.
[1:12:41] Matt: So that's my vote.
[1:12:42] Matt: And again, yay, end of Round 3.
[1:12:45] Matt: Can't wait to see where we go from here. Bye.
[1:12:48] Andrew: That brings our tally to 10 votes for Nutbush and 12 votes for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home.
[1:12:54] Andrew: Up next, we're looking at voicemails from Connor, Elliot, and Teresa.
[1:12:58] Connor: Hey, Gleeks. Do you hear that?
[1:13:00] Connor: That's the sound of a tough competition.
[1:13:04] Connor: Nutbush City Limits versus One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home.
[1:13:11] Connor: I'm just going to rip the bandaid off.
[1:13:13] Connor: My vote will be going to One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home.
[1:13:18] Connor: And I truly mean, by the way, that this is a tough competition.
[1:13:22] Connor: On the one hand, we have a seminal Santana number in the middle of Season 4.
[1:13:30] Connor: She certainly rejuvenated the iconic diva episode by appearing halfway through and really upping the ante.
[1:13:39] Connor: On the other hand, we do have One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home.
[1:13:42] Connor: Kristen Chenoweth turned up to set that day.
[1:13:45] Connor: Matthew Morrison turned up to set one day.
[1:13:48] Connor: And they said, we are prepared to put our entire glussies into this performance.
[1:13:54] Connor: Come here, be iconic, and leave.
[1:13:57] Connor: The thing about A House is Not a Home, One Less Bell to Answer, is that, or...
[1:14:01] Connor: One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home, excuse me, is that I think it's Glee for intellectuals. Now, I'm not saying that I'm an intellectual. I'm not saying that I know many, but if I wanted to convince an intellectual to watch this show, you can bet your bottom dollar that I am going to be showing them One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. I will certainly show Gleek intellectuals Nutbush City Limits as well. However, that's not doing as heavy of a lifting in that regard. It goes without saying that Santana is Mother Earth. However, I need to do this for my soul. And before I talk myself out of it, I'm locking in that vote. Love you all. Don't stop believing. And that's how Connor sees it.
[1:14:45] Elliot: Hey Gleek, it's Elliot. You may remember me as the person who helped kill Papa. But for this final competition, I really wanted to give it to our girl Santana, but One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home is one of the best mashups on the show. There's just some sort of poetry to it. So I think it should win over Nutbush City Limits, unfortunately. Anyway, that's all. Bye.
[1:15:16] Teresa: Hey, this is Teresa. I'm going to be voting for Nutbush City Limits because it is iconic. The energy, the vocals, the personality, it's all absolutely perfect. Now we're looking at a tally of 11 votes for Nutbush and 14 votes for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. Let's continue on with voicemails from Abby, Jude and Dylan.
[1:15:42] Abby: Hello, hello, hello. You know who it is, it's Abby. I want to get a call in. I want to get a call in to say my vote is for Nutbush City. This shit's on a fucking game, all right? This shit's on a fucking game. Like before I eat breakfast, I'm here voting. Voting is very important. Make sure you vote, whether it's for your representative, for your mayor or senator, president. Voting is important. Use your voice. And I'm using it through this Gmail voicemail or whatever it's called. OK, I'm hoping everybody chooses the right option because it gets to a point. So listen, Nutbush City is the best of all time, you know what I'm saying? Like, boom, she walks through the door, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
Like, she's not fucking playing around. You have Britney Spears in the corner. Sam doesn't know what's going on. He doesn't know what's going on, right? Sam is happy as fuck because finally a diva is back in town. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's showing them kids, you know what I'm saying? Like, we can talk about the behind the scenes. Like, everybody was gagged. Everybody was gagged. Becca was gagged. Jacob was gagged. Alex was gagged. Everybody was gagged. You know what I'm saying? All the movies were gagged because this is lit. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, you see Ryder, he's shaking, he's touching like he's never fucking experienced something like this in his life because he hasn't, because it's that fucking good.
She's that fucking good. OK, so yeah, Nutbush City, I'm here voting for you. One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. You've never been my favorite. I'm sorry, I've just never gotten it. But I know people love you. So that's all that matters. It doesn't matter what I think. And I think you're so gorgeous and I think you have some importance to you. And I appreciate what you've done to this Glee community. For me, this is the end of the road for you, for me, in a sense. So, yeah, anyways, Andy, love you as always. I hope you're having a fantastic day. OK, bye.
[1:17:29] Jude: Great. Hi, it's Jude, my pronouns are they, them, and I also was previously, I guess, on the livestream episode about a year ago. My vote is for Nutbush City Limits. I love One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. But I just love Nutbush more and I love Santana's performances more in general. Also, and you can cut this, Andrew, but I recently learned that they teach a line dance to Nutbush in Australian schools. So I think about that every time I see this performance. I can't believe that it's kind of the equivalent to the Macarena or Cotton Eye Joe for Americans. Anyway, I appreciate all the work you do on the pod and congrats on finishing round three. Bye.
[1:18:11] Dylan: Hi, my name is Dylan and I would like to vote for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. I think that Nutbush is great, but it's pretty underwhelming. It's not the best Santana solo by any means. We have many other Cheerios numbers that really stand out more than this one does. I think it's an underrated number, but for a reason. One Less Bell is a cinematic, beautiful mashup. It's what Glee is all about. There is a special guest star and just this rich, luscious song. It's wonderful. Side note, my best friend and I often perform this mashup at karaoke nights. It is highly requested. People love it. So I think that should be taken into consideration. And another fun fact. This fall, I went to Queen of Versailles on Broadway and I met Kristen Chenoweth at the stage door and I thanked her for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home.
And I told her that she invented culture with this one. And she took no credit for it and said that Ryan Murphy is a genius and that she also loves that song. So thank you. Our vote is now at 13 votes for Nutbush and 15 for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. Let's continue on with voicemails from Coley, Ryan and Alyssa.
[1:19:50] Coley: Hey, Gleeks, it's Coley. I am here to cast my vote. And to nobody's surprise, I have chosen Nutbush City Limits. Of course, it's the only correct answer. Love you. Bye.
[1:20:02] Ryan: Hi, Andrew. It's Ryan from First Respondcast. I'm calling in to discuss this evil, evil prompt that you have given us this week. Now, I do have an answer and it might be hashtag controversial. However, I do feel pretty secure in it. With this pairing that you have, this battle, you're putting two baddies head to head and that's deeply unfair and unkind. But I do have to say I'm casting my vote for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. Now, don't get me wrong. Do not get it twisted. Nutbush City Limits is cunt all the way down. There is literally nothing to complain about with that song. It is a very faithful cover of the already iconic original. Naya only improves on it, especially at the end where she takes it up.
And you can't argue with the performance. Her and her iconic card gear with her fake girlfriend, Elaine. We love Elaine. However, from, I think, a musical perspective and also a narrative perspective, I do think One Less Bell, A House is Not a Home, it really, really shines in a way that just like pushes it above, you know, because both of these are pretty faithful covers to the original recordings. And so you can't really judge them on that metric. They're pretty matched in that way. Do you think that they do some things, both of them, to elevate themselves? But I think within the narrative for what it does for April's character, for her relationship with Mr. Shue and also just the song itself is so absolutely beautiful, the arrangement is so gorgeous and lush and cinematic that you can't really argue with it.
So I feel bad. I feel bad. But listen, I don't think Matthew Morrison ever sounded better on the show, especially when he was singing with Kristen Chenoweth. And she's right up there with him, you know, carrying the flame as she so often does. So I think for that reason, I have to give it to them. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I know it's heresy to say. And I was having diva-itis re-listening to them now and re-watching the performances. But I have to give it to One Less Bell, A House Is Not a Home. So this is my contribution. Thank you for uplifting queer voices on the Glackett. Good luck on the rest of the round. I hope everyone votes exactly like I did because if they don't, they're stupid.
[1:22:32] Alyssa: Hi, my name is Alyssa and I am voting for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. I've always loved this song. When I first heard it for the first time ever, I was just captured by the scene, by the emotions of all of it. I do love Nutbush City Limits. It's just One Less Bell holds a soft spot in my heart. And I didn't know that it wasn't loved by everyone. I thought everyone just automatically loved it. But I guess not. Thank you. Our tally now is at 14 for Nutbush and 17 for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. Next up, we're looking at voicemails from Ian, Natalie and Stephanie.
[1:23:09] Ian: Hey, this is Ian from Recovering Gleek, of course, casting my vote. I actually feel like this vote is so important. I don't know if anyone is reckoning with the crossroads that we're at. I understand Santana is a fan favorite character and rightfully so. I understand that Santana is one of the best vocalists on the show. I love her dearly. Two of my favorite songs, actually, my two favorite songs of all time are Santana songs. And I understand that Will Schuster is a widely panned character. But my God, One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home is maybe the best arrangement that ever came out of the show. It is stunning. I listened to both of these songs today to refresh it. And I immediately listened to One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home four times in succession.
It is gorgeous. It is beautiful. Matthew Morrison knew that he was being replaced. They'd filmed the first 13 episodes. They had been released. And they said the audience is connecting more with the kids. We're panning the focus away from you as the main character. And he said, I'm going to fight for my right to stay on this goddamn show. He put everything he had into that song. And Kristin Chenoweth gave it her all as well. It is a piece of art. It is stunning. It is beautiful. House is Not a Home. One Less Bell to Answer. Thank you. Goodbye.
[1:24:29] Natalie: Hello, it's Natalie calling for the second time. If you understood my previous message, please disregard this one. But if not, could you start it over, please? Hi, I'm Natalie. I'm placing my vote for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. This was an extremely hard decision. I think they sound so good together. Also, I think the song is so silly and so dramatic. And I think it's a really good testament to what Glee is. I love Nutbush and I love Naya. I think, I don't know, I got a little bored during Nutbush City. So that's really all I had. I do have a question to bring to the group. Do we think that April almost left at the end? Because I sure do. Have a great day, everyone.
[1:25:14] Stephanie: Hello, Andrew, Gleek of the Week listeners and co-hosts. This is Stephanie. At first, I thought my choice for the song to go through would be obvious. But when I listened to each song and watched their performances, it felt almost impossible. When I think of the top 100 songs of Glee, both of these numbers definitely belong there. I think that One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home is a beautiful duet and the best duet with Will and April. We don't have a lot of Schuster or April in the rounds to come. But with that being said, I've got to place my vote for Nutbush City Limits. It's an iconic gem that's hidden deep into season four. And it's definitely one of the top songs of the season, for sure.
If not the whole series, I stream it all the time. And it gives me River Deep Mountain High vibes, which is at the very top of my personal bracket. Naya slays in this performance and it absolutely belongs in round four. I am voting for Nutbush. Thank you. Our tally is officially at 15 for Nutbush and 19 for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. Let's look at the voicemails from Carrie-Anne, Tyler and Emily next.
[1:26:16] Carrie-Anne: Hey, guys, it's Carrie-Anne. I'm casting my vote for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. It took me a while to decide which song to vote for, but ultimately it came down to One Less Bell being my favorite April-Will duet and Nutbush City Limit not being my favorite Santana solo, although it is probably top three. Thanks, guys, for the opportunity to vote in the final competition. Bye.
[1:26:37] Tyler: Hey, Andrew. First, I just wanted to say a quick congrats to you on building such an awesome community here. Gleek of the Week is my favorite podcast to listen to. And you've done such a complete job in executing this bracket and you deserve all the praise for your hard work. With that being said, I'm throwing my hat in the ring for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. Nutbush is a banger of an MP3, but the MP4 is just another choir room number. And our girl Santana is down bad in this moment. Who the fuck is Elaine? Girl, bye. Will and April always have such great vocal chemistry together, and I think this is their duet drop. The MP4 is so beautifully shot, too. It's the whole package. And I know everyone rides for Nutbush, but it's never been a favorite Santana solo of mine. Let's hope that goes through. But either way, I'm fine. So congrats again on finishing round three and can't wait to see round four and beyond. Thanks.
[1:27:24] Emily: Hi, my name is Emily and I am calling in to vote for One Less Bell to Answer, A House is Not a Home. I'm actually very sick right now and have been for the past week. And I've been waiting to get over this cold so I could call in and have kind of a nicer sounding voice, but I realized the deadline is tomorrow and I just wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't call in for A House is Not a Home slash One Less Bell. I said it the wrong way. But that song is literally top 10 songs on Glee ever for me. The vocals in it are face melting. Amazing. Kristen Chenoweth makes Matthew Morrison sound better than he ever has on his own, like it's actually insane. I also just really love that they keep the entire MP3 in the episode, like the whole thing, the album version, like six minutes long or whatever, is in the episode.
And I think that's just awesome. Like, it's like almost like they knew how good it was. They're like, yeah, we can't cut any of this. Nutbush City Limits is obviously amazing. The vocals on that one are also face melting. So good. But Santana has better solos, more meaningful songs on the show. To be honest, this is the best Will and best April song on Glee. And I feel like it deserves to go to round four. Thank you so much. So that was another three votes for One Less Bell to Answer.
[1:28:50] Amelia Otto: House is Not a Home, bringing their official tally to 22, while Nutbush is at 15 still.
[1:28:58] Andrew: Let's look at voicemails from Brynn, Drew, and Claudia.
[1:29:02] Brynn: Hi Andrew, this is Brynn making my phone call to you guys because I firmly believe that Nutbush City Limits should go through to the next round. This song just, the entire performance just changed my trajectory as a human, and Naya sounds so good on it, and I think we just need a little bit more Naya to go through to the next round, so. Love you guys, and go Glee. Nutbush City Limits for the win.
[1:29:32] Drew: Hi Gleeks, this is Drew casting my vote for One Less Bell, House is Not a Home, over Nutbush City Limits. As much as I love Nutbush City Limits, I do love this song, the drama of it between Will and April, the artistry, they both sound amazing. One of the best performances of Season 1, I think. I'll see everyone in Round 4.
[1:29:59] Anonymous Caller: Hello Gleek, the obvious answer, to me at least, has got to be Nutbush City Limits. It's an iconic Santolo, amazing visually and sonically, MP3, MP4. I think it's an important transition into this new guard of Glee in Season 4 that I know I'm biased towards, but I think it's a great representation from that chunk of the show is one of Santana's best, and we can't be letting her go so easily. Okay, love you Gleeks!
[1:30:29] Andrew: So that brings the official tally to 17 votes for Nutbush, and 23 votes for One Less Bell to answer, House is Not a Home. Our final three voicemails will be from a re-vote from Brynn and then two anonymous callers, each with their own vote.
[1:30:47] Brynn: Hi Andrew, it's Bryn. I'm very sorry to call back, but after much pondering, I need to change my vote to House is Not a Home, One Less Bell to answer, because it's Season 1 visually, it's perfectly done, and I'm sitting here and realizing I'm completely wrong for choosing Nutbush City Limits, even though it's completely right in its own self. It's just not, House is Not a Home, One Less Bell to answer. So I have to change it. I'm so sorry. The Glee in me is telling me I have to go the other way. Hope you have a great day. Bye.
[1:31:17] Anonymous Caller: Hi Andrew and friends. I am a long-time listener, fan, and Patreon person, so I'm easy, and yeah, a long-time fan. I'm just putting my vote in for the last competition of the Grand Prix of the Glaciers. Yeah, both great songs. I'm going to start by saying that. Both great songs, starting with One Less Bell to answer, House is Not a Home. Glee was the first time I'd known about a person to channel with. I wasn't aware of Wicked as a fandom, or Wicked as a big thing at that age, I was like 12 when Season 1 came out. But I could tell by the way she was presented on the show, she was a big deal, and I did research her and find out more about her after that. So that's kind of like a formative musical theatre thing for me.
It's the first time I'd heard both of those songs, and I think they're mashed up together so well, such a strong mash-up. I think on watching and not knowing the songs, you can't exactly tell, but it's a mash-up. So it does that same, it gets spoken about a lot, like it does something new with the source material, like does something new, like Glee brings something new. And I think that Glee was really important for me in terms of opening my eyes up to maybe more traditional, kind of like, this is not about the showtunes, but like showtune-type, maybe wouldn't have known about. So that's why I really like this one. And I think that's one of the things I like most about Glee. With Nutbush, I obviously love Naya Rivera, everyone loves her, she's fantastic on the show, the character of Santana is one of my favourites.
I just feel that it's a bit more copy-paste, I think it's trying to evoke the River Deep, Mountain High of it all. It doesn't have the exact same punch, I don't think, as what that does. I know that's not what I'm supposed to be comparing it to, but you know what I mean, I think that's what it's trying to be. Also, the clip I watched on YouTube of that, so I could, for this competition, had the dialogue before and after, and Brittany says like, Finn's speaking about biggest diva ever, or whatever, and he's about to introduce Santana, and Brittany goes, where's Simone? And I think Simone would have been a great star on Glee, and that should have happened. But anyway, ultimately, I think you'll probably be able to tell that I'm going to vote for One Less Bell to Answer, House is Not Home.
I was obsessed with Volume 3, Showstoppers, so I want as much representation of that as possible. I remember the day it came out, I woke up before school really early to download it on iTunes. I pre-ordered it, and then it didn't download in time, and I was annoyed because I couldn't listen to it on the bus. So yeah, as a musical theatre, storytelling person in me is feeling One Less Bell to Answer, House is Not Home. Love the podcast, looking forward to seeing the result of this competition, and listening in round four. Bye!
[1:33:45] Anonymous Caller: Hi, Andrew, Amelia, and Elijah. I'm going to keep this quick, because one of these songs is that girl, diva, the one. And the other one is Nutbush City Limits. Starting with One Less Bell to Answer, we'll just say April Mill has great duets, other than Raise Your Glass, but this one is top tier, the best. It outdid Kurt, maybe five minutes before singing in the choir room. He was found dead after this launched. Not to mention Kevin McHale loved this mashup, as he should, so let's honor him by sending this through.
[1:34:17] Anonymous Caller: Hello. Next, for Nutbush, don't get me started on these fuck-ass cheerios, not-even uniforms, ugly. And then looking at the context, Tina was enraged as she said, why is Antenna back here again? Girl, you're in college. Don't keep coming back. Get a life. And then after she sings, she brings up her new lipstick lesbian girlfriend. Girl, Brittany is right there. Kiss her. Don't kiss this other girl. What are we doing? Nobody wants to see this. Nutbush is just bottom of the barrel when it comes to Santana. I'm so sorry to say it does nothing for me, so obviously One Less Bell should get through. Thanks, guys. Sorry if I'm controversial.
[1:35:10] Andrew: Okay, so the final tally is 16 votes for Nutbush. It was originally 17. Brynn brought it back down to 16. She changed her vote. And then 26 for One Less Bell to answer, a house is not a home. I really hope that I counted that correctly. If I didn't, please forgive me. Okay, back to the episode.
[1:35:16] Amelia Otto: Oh my god. All of those voicemails. Obsessed with each and every one of you. Thank you so much for sending them in. And here is the final tally of those voicemails. With 17 votes, we have Nutbush City Limits. And with 26 votes, we have One Less Bell to answer, a house is not a home. And then also, wait, so 26, it would be 28 with Elijah and I, and 18 for Nutbush with Amelia. Whoa. Was that a pity vote, Amelia?
[1:35:55] Elijah: Yeah, I'll call it out.
[1:36:00] Amelia Otto: How are you? For the official... Let me add it to the list. Wait, it is a pity vote? No, yeah, like, yeah. But like, because I feel good that like One Less Bell is going, but like I do, you know. Incredible. And that was our last competition of round three. So exciting.
[1:36:14] Andrew: Um, okay. So with that being said, that means that we are another 10 songs where you can vote a song back, which means the songs eligible to vote back for the second to last vote back of the round would be, here are all your competitors, the nominees. Fighter for good, Papa Can You Hear Me, I Know What Boys Like, You Get What You Give, Take Me or Leave Me, Rehab, Hung Up, and Nutbush City Limits.
[1:36:51] Elijah: It does feel like a little bit of a setup.
[1:36:54] Amelia Otto: For which, for which one though?
[1:36:56] Andrew: I mean, I think that there's...
[1:36:59] Elijah: I think You Get What You Give has a good chance, too.
[1:37:00] Andrew: Oh, really? I was thinking that like, we're putting so much emphasis on this final competition of Nutbush City Limits versus One Less Bell and I was like, I think that like, either one of these is the front runner. But I understand the vision with You Get What You Give.
[1:37:16] Amelia Otto: I agree. I like it. I don't know that I would like, care enough to vote it back.
[1:37:21] Andrew: This is for you. Take care of it. And it'll take care of you.
[1:37:28] Amelia Otto: So what do you, Andrew, yours would be? Nutbush City Limits, you think?
[1:37:32] Andrew: Like, probably. Yeah. I think I'd have to like, look at a list, ponder, see what Eduardo threatens, and then go from there.
[1:37:43] Amelia Otto: Of course. It's important to consider what Eduardo is threatening.
[1:37:47] Andrew: Yeah. So that will be live for a week on the Patreon if you want to vote for that. Between those 10 songs, and one of those will come back for round four, obviously.
[1:37:59] Elijah: And then we're doing this fun thing as well on the Patreon, where I pose to the entire, all the patrons, that I was like, I put together a sheet of all of the songs in order of all like, all of the songs that have been eliminated. And I said, each patron gets to nominate one song to like, be eligible to come back for round four from the entire Glackett.
[1:38:30] Andrew: And so each person nominated one song. And here are these nominees, which I think are very fun. But first, wait, Amelia, did you nominate a song?
[1:38:36] Amelia Otto: I don't think so.
[1:38:40] Elijah: Did you? You did.
[1:38:42] Amelia Otto: Yes, I did. Wait, let me pull this up because I just-
[1:38:44] Elijah: Creep.
[1:38:47] Amelia Otto: Oh, you nominated Creep. Great pull.
[1:38:50] Elijah: Eduardo was very happy with that.
[1:38:52] Amelia Otto: Oh, yeah. He let me know how happy he was.
[1:38:56] Andrew: Yeah, let me pull up the list. It's gonna be a Blaine song. We all know that.
[1:39:01] Amelia Otto: Oh, and then also, Amelia, Eduardo mentioned in his voicemail that he was upset that you were here for-
[1:39:05] Elijah: No, no, that you were here for a competition that didn't include a Blaine song. Because he wanted you to be here to protect the Blaine song.
[1:39:10] Amelia Otto: I kind of structured that sentence in a scary way.
[1:39:16] Elijah: Scared for her life. Eduardo's really mad that you're here.
[1:39:20] Amelia Otto: You're Eduardo's next target. He has a list.
[1:39:23] Elijah: It's Claudia.
[1:39:25] Amelia Otto: No, I'm scared. You're next.
[1:39:28] Andrew: You know what? Can I throw It's Too Late into there? It's not gonna win, but I talked about it earlier.
[1:39:33] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[1:39:34] Andrew: So, Beauty School Dropout is mine. Because I-
[1:39:39] Amelia Otto: Perfect.
[1:39:41] Andrew: And I blame Allison Dodge for that, 100%, because that was the Samuel Larson episode, and she was like, what Samuel Larson said, and I was like, but-
[1:39:46] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[1:39:47] Andrew: So, Beauty School Dropout is gonna be-
[1:39:50] Elijah: Yeah, and somebody nominated the Trolley song, which-
[1:39:54] Andrew: Okay, wait. I'm so glad that you brought it up, because I-
[1:39:56] Amelia Otto: Elias and I were watching that episode yesterday, Rise and Fall of Sue Sylvester, randomly.
[1:40:04] Andrew: Of course.
[1:40:06] Amelia Otto: And the way that that song- Do you recall the context of that song?
[1:40:12] Andrew: Aren't they just- Isn't it their last song together or something?
[1:40:15] Amelia Otto: They're in the auditorium. Carol Burnett comes out and is like, hey, sorry that I roasted your ass in front of the entire world on television. But yeah, I wasn't a Nazi hunter. And then-
[1:40:31] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:40:32] Amelia Otto: Sue was like, well, how did you and dad meet? Which is like, there wasn't a segue naturally into that. And then she was like, well, the Trolley, of course. Then they start singing the Trolley song, which I think is actually kind of iconic.
[1:40:44] Andrew: You know what? Yeah.
[1:40:45] Elijah: That's the same vibe as, you're right, we might be crazy.
[1:40:52] Andrew: You may be right. We may be crazy.
[1:40:55] Amelia Otto: There you go.
[1:40:56] Andrew: But here are all of the songs, because I think this is so fun, all the songs that the patrons felt left the Glackett a little bit too soon and are eligible to come back. One of these will be coming back for round four.
[1:41:02] Elijah: And the numbers associated with them are the number that they were knocked out of the Glackett.
[1:41:09] Andrew: 15, Don't Speak.
[1:41:22] Elijah: 19, Breakaway.
[1:41:24] Andrew: 30, Loser Like Me Season 2.
[1:41:26] Elijah: 32, Vogue.
[1:41:29] Andrew: 39, For Once in My Life.
[1:41:31] Elijah: 44, To Love You More.
[1:41:33] Andrew: 59, Poker Face.
[1:41:35] Elijah: 68, Not the Boy Next Door.
[1:41:38] Andrew: 70, I Want to Hold Your Hand.
[1:41:40] Elijah: 91, Don't Stop Believing Season 1, Version 2.
[1:41:43] Andrew: That was my pick.
[1:41:45] Elijah: 98, The Trolley Song.
[1:41:48] Andrew: 121, Losing My Religion.
[1:41:51] Elijah: 141, Every Breath You Take.
[1:41:53] Andrew: 142, Start Me Up Living on a Prayer.
[1:41:57] Elijah: 154, Creep.
[1:41:59] Andrew: 164, More Than a Feeling.
[1:42:01] Elijah: 171, Beauty School Dropout.
[1:42:05] Andrew: 198, Alfie.
[1:42:07] Elijah: 213, Let Me Love You Until You Learn to Love Yourself.
[1:42:10] Andrew: 235, My Life is Done Without You.
[1:42:13] Elijah: Wait.
[1:42:13] Andrew: Oh, that was your episode.
[1:42:15] Elijah: Yeah.
[1:42:16] Andrew: 254, Don't Dream It's Over.
[1:42:21] Elijah: Okay, and a little gap.
[1:42:22] Andrew: 344, Words Before Branches.
[1:42:26] Elijah: Another gap.
[1:42:27] Andrew: 402, I Can't Go For That, You Make My Dreams.
[1:42:30] Elijah: 406, Uninvited.
[1:42:32] Andrew: 407, I Lived.
[1:42:34] Elijah: 434, Come What May.
[1:42:36] Andrew: 437, Born This Way.
[1:42:39] Elijah: 467, It's All Coming Back to Me Now.
[1:42:41] Andrew: Honestly, pour one out.
[1:42:44] Elijah: 500, Baby It's Cold Outside.
[1:42:47] Andrew: 518, Chasing Pavements.
[1:42:49] Elijah: 535, Getting Married Today.
[1:42:50] Andrew: 536, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
[1:42:53] Elijah: 543, We Are Young.
[1:42:55] Andrew: 544, On My Own.
[1:42:58] Elijah: 546, Love Song.
[1:43:00] Andrew: 554, The Bitch Is Back, Dress You Up.
[1:43:03] Elijah: And finally, 556, Home Season Six.
[1:43:09] Andrew: So we officially have 568 songs that have been eliminated from the Glackett, two of which, as I just mentioned, are coming back.
[1:43:17] Elijah: And that will all be revealed when the Glackett returns.
[1:43:22] Andrew: Yay!
[1:43:28] Elijah: The public episode will be releasing on June 2nd, 2026.
[1:43:34] Andrew: So taking a little month off to get everything together and...
[1:43:38] Andrew: Then it's going to be really crazy because with round four it will be the same sort of setup that it will be four songs per episode. However, with a clean 100, there is no need for a vote back for any of the songs. Oh god, that's scary. This is like where we actually really lock in. Any song that has made it this far should be so proud of itself for making it this far because if you continue past this point, it's so honorable. Even "Ice Ice Baby," "Ice Ice Baby," "More Than Words," it's on site. We're getting rid of your ass.
[1:44:21] Elijah: But you voted "Ice Ice Baby" back, so I don't know why you're saying that.
[1:44:29] Andrew: Well, I mean, wait, what was "Ice Ice Baby" against?
[1:44:36] Elijah: It was "Keep Holding On," season five.
[1:44:40] Andrew: Oh, that's fine. I'm "Ice Ice Baby."
[1:44:45] Elijah: Okay, bye. Wait, wait, what's the defense for "Keep Holding On," season five? I'm pretty sure I had this in my last...
[1:44:50] Andrew: Oh, you've talked about this?
[1:44:52] Elijah: Yes, in a recorded fashion. Yes, Allison Alamode can back me up.
[1:44:58] Andrew: Oh my god, you're streaming?
[1:45:00] Elijah: Yes, I am.
[1:45:01] Andrew: Okay, perfect. So we're scared for round four, basically.
[1:45:08] Elijah: Yeah, terrified.
[1:45:09] Andrew: So if you would like to vote on either of those competitions, go to patreon.com/gleekoftheweekpod. In combination of getting those perks of being included in those competitions, you get early release episodes, get to participate in live streams, and get to know what's going on. The Black group chat is very, very fun and active, and you get to talk to all the Gleeks. Also, you get to support artisanal creators like myself, Gleeky creators like me.
[1:45:36] Elijah: So all that being said, I think that we need to talk about some analytics. I'm doing some really quick updates with the most recent vote.
[1:45:46] Andrew: Okay, I probably should, but we're good. Yeah, and also I just want to add that producer Leah Michelle has been here this entire time. She has been like actively in the audio medium, kind of just like really living it up and just like smiling and giving thumbs up. She just like is on vocal rest. She called out of chess tonight actually to be here.
[1:46:09] Elijah: Yeah, and it looks like she's having a good time, right?
[1:46:15] Andrew: Of course, she's like smiling ear to ear.
[1:46:21] Elijah: Yeah, that's kind of scary.
[1:46:22] Andrew: But yeah, she's here. She's enjoying herself. She's having a wonderful time. Her kids are like scurrying around in the background, and it's like, wow, like kind of like getting a little peek into her life.
[1:46:30] Elijah: Yeah, I love that. Okay, so are we ready to do some analytics breakdown? Do you want to go first, Elijah?
[1:46:38] Elijah: I mean, mine's probably longer, but...
[1:46:44] Andrew: Yours is definitely longer.
[1:46:46] Elijah: Yeah, definitely. So we got some wonderful statistics already listed on the document. We have, well, Andrew, so far you've been a part of, I believe, 588 competitions.
[1:47:04] Andrew: Wow, which is times two how many songs is that? 588 times two, that's a thousand and a hundred...
[1:47:13] Elijah: A thousand one hundred and seventy-six songs that I've watched now.
[1:47:21] Andrew: Whoa, that's incredible.
[1:47:22] Elijah: Yeah. So total competitions this round, including this one, we are at 88.
[1:47:29] Andrew: And total episodes?
[1:47:30] Elijah: 48.
[1:47:31] Andrew: Yeah. And I decided to compile here some of your favorite Gleeky guests.
[1:47:43] Elijah: Yeah, so we have the top five here. Oh, I have this as well. Yeah, if you could guess without looking at a list, looking at anything, who do you think the top three people that have featured the most on your podcast this round?
[1:47:58] Andrew: This round? Yes. I think that it would be Connor would be in the top three.
[1:48:06] Elijah: Yes.
[1:48:07] Andrew: Okay, Ian?
[1:48:15] Elijah: Yes.
[1:48:16] Andrew: And would that be...
[1:48:23] Elijah: Oh, I don't like this game because I'm like ranking friendships. No. Who did I call up a lot? I don't think that Allison Dodge had as many episodes this round.
[1:48:28] Elijah: She didn't. She had more than usual, but she...
[1:48:30] Andrew: Wait, who's the top? Who's the third person?
[1:48:40] Elijah: Patrick Pat.
[1:48:41] Andrew: Oh yes, he's gonna...
[1:48:43] Elijah: Yeah, so him and Connor are tied. So him and Connor have both been in eight episodes. I don't have them listed here, but do the research yourself.
[1:48:55] Andrew: 16 competitions. And then we have Ian in third with 14 competitions, so seven episodes. Same with Claudia, 14 comps, seven episodes. And then Allison is actually coming up in fifth. She's been a part of 12 competitions.
[1:49:10] Elijah: Okay, so six episodes, which, you know, we'll take what we can get. Even if the episode is like an hour long, we'll take what we can.
[1:49:17] Andrew: Exactly, we'll take it. Incredible. What else do you have?
[1:49:25] Elijah: Yeah, so then I sort of have, I compiled the top five longest episodes and then the top and then the shortest episode.
[1:49:33] Andrew: Oh my god, yes.
[1:49:34] Elijah: Which, we'll go, we'll go here. What do you think the shortest episode is?
[1:49:41] Andrew: I think the shortest, well, I'm gonna say that the shortest is probably like, I'm gonna say like the Jenna Ushkowitz episode. I think like it was...
[1:49:52] Elijah: Yeah, "Gay By May," which we packed a lot of content in.
[1:49:55] Andrew: Yeah, but I'm shocked at how short this is. It's, you know, it's about the length when the podcast first started. It was only 49 minutes.
[1:50:07] Elijah: 49 minutes, but it's also only one competition, whereas at the beginning it was...
[1:50:14] Andrew: Yeah, I don't know how you did that.
[1:50:15] Elijah: Oh, that was... I don't actually know what was going on.
[1:50:21] Andrew: Wait, and so then the longest was...
[1:50:24] Elijah: I don't think that we got as long as we did in round two.
[1:50:28] Andrew: No, I still think... I forget what the episode is. Connor and Allison, I still think that one's the longest.
[1:50:34] Elijah: That one was like three and a half hours.
[1:50:37] Andrew: "Robo Rachel" is that maybe?
[1:50:40] Elijah: I think so, yeah, but very confident that that's the title.
[1:50:46] Andrew: But okay, so that is holding the record. But what was the longest one this round? Do you have any ideas?
[1:50:52] Elijah: I'm just gonna be quizzing you the whole time.
[1:50:54] Andrew: Yeah, let's see. Really testing my knowledge while I'm sick.
[1:50:59] Elijah: I'm trying to think like who really likes to talk. Like Connor really likes to talk.
[1:51:06] Andrew: And really likes to talk, but I don't think... I know that like I had a hard out in that episode, so that episode wasn't as long as it could have been.
[1:51:10] Elijah: I think it might have actually been Connor and Allison Alamode.
[1:51:18] Andrew: No, longest this round is what I'm talking about.
[1:51:21] Elijah: I think that it still would have been this round as well.
[1:51:24] Andrew: No, no, it was Ian and Patrick in "Juicy Lucy Kaboosie."
[1:51:26] Elijah: Yes, which I love. Love that title.
[1:51:35] Andrew: Yeah. Is that, do you have a favorite title of this round?
[1:51:42] Elijah: Oh my goodness. Oh my gosh, it's putting me on the spot.
[1:51:48] Andrew: Hey, you're doing it to me. Let's go.
[1:51:55] Elijah: Wait, just like scrolling through.
[1:51:57] Andrew: Yeah, let me take a look here.
[1:52:00] Elijah: After a long day of work, I don't want to overreach that. I don't want to...
[1:52:05] Andrew: Alright, that's a good one. That might be my favorite.
[1:52:09] Elijah: I really like "Glee Cast System."
[1:52:10] Andrew: "Glee Has This."
[1:52:12] Elijah: "Alfie Alzheimer's." That one's the one with them on timers.
[1:52:15] Andrew: Oh, "Bad Romance." That was great.
[1:52:17] Elijah: That was good.
[1:52:18] Andrew: "The Miseducation of Andrew McGuire" was very big brain energy.
[1:52:21] Elijah: Wait, you do not know that reference?
[1:52:25] Andrew: The good for you girl, you got on the show.
[1:52:27] Elijah: Good for you girl. It took like a second immediately that I was like, as soon as it came out of Connor's mouth, I was like, yeah, I was like, wait, where is that from?
[1:52:34] Andrew: Anyway, also I love "Leah Takes a Tumble."
[1:52:38] Elijah: Yeah, there we go.
[1:52:39] Andrew: Yeah, these are great.
[1:52:44] Elijah: "Something Did Bad Happen."
[1:52:46] Andrew: Love that.
[1:52:47] Elijah: "Artie's a Little Freak."
[1:52:53] Andrew: "Artie's a Little Freak."
[1:52:54] Elijah: Okay, so what else are we, what other analytics do we have?
[1:53:01] Elijah: Yeah, so longest, shortest. And then I thought it would be fun. I compiled every time a Glee cast member or character was mentioned in the title of an episode.
[1:53:10] Andrew: Oh yeah, I just did it for this round. Maybe, you know, I'll do it for everything.
[1:53:19] Elijah: But that's so fun. So we have Artie, there's a three-way tie here. So we have Artie, Quinn, and Rachel/Leah with three.
[1:53:25] Andrew: Okay, so Artie, "Artie in the Technicolor Dreamcoat" was one of them.
[1:53:33] Elijah: "Artie's a Little Freak."
[1:53:34] Andrew: Yep, that's two.
[1:53:36] Elijah: And then there's one more.
[1:53:38] Andrew: "Our Tangent."
[1:53:39] Elijah: "Quintessentially."
[1:53:41] Andrew: Yep, "Lucy Kaboosie."
[1:53:47] Elijah: "Juicy Lucy Kaboosie."
[1:53:48] Andrew: Yes.
[1:53:49] Elijah: And then there's one more.
[1:53:50] Andrew: Yeah, I don't know. It's a mashup of names if that's a hint.
[1:53:57] Elijah: Wait, no looking.
[1:54:06] Andrew: Oh, I just pulled it up and it was right there.
[1:54:09] Elijah: "Quat Rutherbright."
[1:54:10] Andrew: Yep.
[1:54:13] Elijah: And then Rachel/Leah, we have three. So we have "Rolodex" and we have "Leah Takes a Tumble."
[1:54:22] Andrew: Yep.
[1:54:23] Elijah: And then we have, I don't know, do we just say it just now?
[1:54:29] Andrew: Nope, I don't think so.
[1:54:30] Elijah: I'm like looking and what? Tell me.
[1:54:36] Andrew: Rachel is vegan meatloaf.
[1:54:38] Elijah: There we go. Of course.
[1:54:40] Andrew: "Emo Hemo and Homo."
[1:54:44] Elijah: That one's a good one.
[1:54:46] Andrew: I love.
[1:54:47] Elijah: I'm just doing Tina.
[1:54:50] Andrew: Oh my god, "Wicked Wets" I think is a good one, but that may also be because that was the episode that I was in.
[1:54:53] Elijah: Perfect. That was a fun kind of activity.
[1:55:01] Andrew: Yeah, I think I might do that for everything so far and start to compile it.
[1:55:06] Elijah: Much fun.
[1:55:08] Andrew: And then so out of the total 48 episodes, there have been 15 episodes where it has been fully unanimous.
[1:55:16] Elijah: Yeah.
[1:55:17] Andrew: And then out of the whole round, there are 42 competitions that have been unanimous.
[1:55:27] Elijah: Wow.
[1:55:28] Andrew: And then I was surprised to see this. Apparently we had, there were two live episodes that were unanimous, which, you know...
[1:55:33] Elijah: Oh yeah, no, knowing some of there's people with a lot of varying opinions.
[1:55:40] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:55:41] Elijah: But yeah, so we had "Skadoosh Gate," which is another great one, and then "Alfie Alzheimer's." Those were both unanimous.
[1:55:48] Andrew: Both of them?
[1:55:49] Elijah: Okay, okay.
[1:55:50] Andrew: Yeah, and then I have two Gleeks here who have appeared the most in unanimous episodes.
[1:56:04] Elijah: Oh, who's kind of staying true? Let's see.
[1:56:10] Andrew: Do you have any ideas?
[1:56:12] Elijah: I think that like Connor and I kind of like align.
[1:56:16] Andrew: I'm just gonna say...
[1:56:17] Elijah: Okay, you got Connor.
[1:56:19] Andrew: Who? There's one other person, which might be a shock.
[1:56:21] Elijah: Oh really? I was gonna say Patrick, but I don't think that that would be a shock.
[1:56:25] Andrew: No, it's Patrick.
[1:56:26] Elijah: Oh, it is Patrick? Wait, why do you think that would be a shock? I'm curious.
[1:56:31] Andrew: I don't know. You know, sometimes his, and this is nothing against Patrick, he likes to come in spicy to the...
[1:56:38] Elijah: Insult Patrick listening should take this as an insult, actually. Sorry, Patrick, come for me.
[1:56:43] Andrew: But yeah, I mean, I was surprised as well. But yeah, so Connor was in the most unanimous episodes, which is...
[1:56:46] Elijah: I'm in that with both him and Matt.
[1:56:48] Andrew: I'm in that. I love that title.
[1:56:50] Elijah: Yes, "The Elephant in the Room" with Emily and then "Clocking the Grieving" with Claudia.
[1:56:57] Andrew: Yes.
[1:56:58] Elijah: And then Patrick was in the untitled episode with Charlie.
[1:57:01] Andrew: Something did bad happen with Claudia.
[1:57:03] Elijah: Yeah, and then recently "Mom Ferdin Daughters."
[1:57:07] Andrew: Yes.
[1:57:08] Elijah: But yeah, I think there was, was there, there might have been somebody else, but yeah, they were the by far, they tend to have, you know, their followers.
[1:57:17] Andrew: Yeah, they're not like kind of coming in and kind of messing things up a little bit. Like they're just kind of like, okay, let's follow the course here.
[1:57:23] Elijah: Yeah.
[1:57:24] Andrew: And then as well, which this may not be 100% accurate, but I also did which singer won the most in a unanimous competition.
[1:57:30] Elijah: Oh, fun. Okay.
[1:57:31] Andrew: So I have the top four and take this with a grain of salt. So New Directions, nine out of the 42.
[1:57:39] Elijah: Nine out of 42.
[1:57:40] Andrew: And then Rachel with eight, Mercedes with eight, and then Santana with six.
[1:57:48] Elijah: And then those may not all be solos, but like duets or group numbers where they feature solely.
[1:58:28] Elijah: And then, so we, along with this voting, you know, on this document, we have the Instagram votes, which are very spooky, scary.
[1:58:41] Amelia: It can get really tricky. Yeah.
[1:58:42] Elijah: Yeah. So the amount of so out of the 15 unanimous episodes, four of them had disagreements from the Instagram Gleeks.
[1:58:51] Amelia: The Instagram Gleeks are a different breed, as we've said before.
[1:58:54] Elijah: Yeah. And then, so that's episodes and then unanimous competitions with a disagreement, seven out of 41.
[1:59:05] Amelia: Okay.
[1:59:07] Elijah: Which, you know, it is what it is. So then, in going to that, so up until, you know, this will be, I did some stats here for the Instagram voting. And I believe this will be up until Gliance with Heather.
[1:59:27] Amelia: Yes. Okay.
[1:59:28] Elijah: So there were five competitions with 70% or more in disagreement. Knowing the Instagram Gleekies, do you have any ideas on which competitions or which songs could potentially be up there?
[1:59:47] Amelia: I think that like, they're kind of like showing favoritism, of course, to another game.
[1:59:54] Elijah: I know what you are.
[1:59:56] Amelia: I know what you are. And you are, because I remember like, it was like, specifically, oh my gosh, it was like, I remember like, Father Figure versus like, Jar of Hearts, where I was like, Father Figure was getting eaten up. And I was like, oh my god, I understand. I understand that Jar of Hearts is from season two, and Father Figure is from season six. But can we please actually listen to both?
[2:00:22] Elijah: Yeah.
[2:00:22] Amelia: And consider.
[2:00:24] Elijah: So yeah, instead of posting the little clips, you just need to do the full song. Just, just
[2:00:30] Amelia: Hey, here's the, but then every, you know that they're not gonna watch it. They're just gonna be like, I remember this one. So I'm both for that. Yeah,
[2:00:39] Elijah: I guess that's fair.
[2:00:40] Amelia: That's okay. It's fine.
[2:00:41] Elijah: Okay, so we have five here with 70% or more in disagreement.
[2:00:47] Amelia: Yeah, the lowest is 72. The highest is 79%. Okay. So tied for last place, or with 72% Stayin' Alive versus Bitch, which I would have voted Stayin' Alive over Bitch.
[2:01:05] Elijah: Yeah.
[2:01:05] Amelia: So and then after that, we have Superstition versus Raise Your Glass. Whereas Raise Your Glass, who lost, got 72% as well.
[2:01:16] Elijah: I'm seeing, I'm seeing a recurring theme.
[2:01:19] Amelia: Me too.
[2:01:20] Elijah: I was, wait, low key surprised by that one. Like when I looked back, because I saw like, because I had Superstition, like in, when I was like going back over and I was like, oh, Superstition is like still in. No, it's so good. But I was just like, like versus Raise Your Glass. It's season two, right?
[2:01:35] Amelia: Yeah, that one's not the best out of those.
[2:01:37] Elijah: Yeah, like that kind of surprised me. I mean, it's better than,
[2:01:40] Amelia: I prefer season five. Well, a lot of things are better than season five, Raise Your Glass.
[2:01:44] Elijah: Yes.
[2:01:45] Amelia: Really? I mean, no, season five one is bad. Like, you know, like, I have warblers.
[2:01:49] Elijah: Yeah.
[2:01:50] Amelia: Everything to me. But I don't know.
[2:01:53] Elijah: So then, which this one hits heart. So I've had the time of my life versus Mercy. And I had the time of my life had 74% of the votes.
[2:02:04] Amelia: See, this makes sense. Actually, that was crazy. I think Mercy is the kind of, so it's like, I would say that the three, that immediately come to mind of like, the songs that are like, kind of sneaks into round four. We have More Than Words. We have Ice Ice Baby. And we have Mercy. Right? Are those the big three sneaks?
[2:02:26] Elijah: I would say.
[2:02:27] Amelia: Yeah. What do you, Elijah? Do you have any other ones?
[2:02:30] Elijah: Yeah. No, I'm just trying to see if there's like any.
[2:02:33] Amelia: Not that I can think of.
[2:02:34] Elijah: Because those are definitely, because everything else I'm like, yeah, that's it.
[2:02:37] Elijah: And then we have, so Being Alive versus Thriller, heads will roll. Thriller got 76% of the votes on Instagram.
[2:02:49] Amelia: Yeah.
[2:02:49] Elijah: Being Alive is great. Like, I mean, I still probably would have voted for Thriller, heads will roll. But like, I'm fine either way. And then the one this round by far that had the most disagreement from the Instagram leaks. Do you have any idea? Anything?
[2:03:09] Amelia: The big,
[2:03:10] Elijah: Knowing conversations of the podcast throughout this round.
[2:03:16] Amelia: 79%.
[2:03:18] Elijah: 79%. Are we saying, I know that the kind of like the big competition this round, without looking at a list, of course, I'm saying was My Man versus Four Minutes.
[2:03:30] Amelia: Nope.
[2:03:31] Elijah: That's not the one.
[2:03:33] Amelia: Is it? Um,
[2:03:33] Elijah: Nope.
[2:03:36] Amelia: It's all coming back to me now.
[2:03:37] Elijah: No, it's all coming back to me now to not make it to this round. So,
[2:03:41] Amelia: Nope.
[2:03:42] Elijah: It is.
[2:03:44] Amelia: Ignore me.
[2:03:44] Elijah: There is no plane. Yeah.
[2:03:49] Amelia: Wait, no, what's, what's Rollo am I thinking of?
[2:03:52] Elijah: It doesn't have a Rollo. It's not a Rollo.
[2:03:54] Amelia: Is it? Well, is it My Man?
[2:03:55] Elijah: So it's, I'll give you a hint here. So it's a solo versus a duet.
[2:04:06] Amelia: See, this is why I'm saying Four Minutes versus My Man, but it's not. Um, a solo versus duet. I haven't, I don't have the slightest idea.
[2:04:13] Elijah: It's the boy is mine versus I know where I've been.
[2:04:19] Amelia: See, where do you guys stand on that?
[2:04:21] Elijah: I'm I know where I've been.
[2:04:23] Amelia: I think it would be an in the moment decision for me to be honest.
[2:04:26] Elijah: Eliza's I know where I've been. Amelia, you could be swayed out of the way.
[2:04:31] Amelia: Yeah, but it was 79% of the votes were for the boy is mine.
[2:04:36] Elijah: And that actually, well, hey, we're literally looking at a season one song versus a season six.
[2:04:41] Amelia: Yeah. Probably the best season six song.
[2:04:45] Elijah: Yeah, yanked out of season six, just placed right into season one. Then I think we would be looking at a different result.
[2:04:52] Amelia: But yeah. And then on top of that, there was one competition this round, where there was a tie 5050.
[2:05:00] Elijah: Oh, really? Yes. Okay. And you're doing this thing where you're asking me to guess and I can't.
[2:05:08] Amelia: Well, I wasn't asking you to guess guess there. But okay, so no, but now you have now I need to bring it up. No, you don't need to. No, tell me. It's love song versus sweet transvestite, which shocked me.
[2:05:24] Elijah: Which a lot of people talked about.
[2:05:27] Amelia: Yeah, but it was 5050.
[2:05:29] Elijah: Let me see. Let me go back and see where like how like the actual numbers of it all to see like if one of them was slightly ahead, but it wasn't reflected in the percentage 5050. You're right. Oh, this is really interesting. Who do you think was slightly ahead?
[2:05:45] Amelia: Love song.
[2:05:49] Elijah: You think love song?
[2:05:50] Amelia: That's what I'm saying.
[2:05:51] Elijah: You're correct. Okay, love song had 809 votes and sweet transvestite had 794.
[2:05:57] Amelia: Oh, wow. So it was really close.
[2:06:00] Elijah: It was tight. But I do remember the the thing the analytic that kills me the most of all time is it's all coming back to me now versus season one drop that like literally 5050 and also down to like the exact vote that really like, yes. Oh my gosh. Well, can you even see that anymore? Didn't you say that? I can't see it. It was just that one week where I couldn't see it. But I was like, well, where's the fun in this if I can't see what Kevin McHale is voting for? You know what I mean? Yeah.
[2:06:29] Amelia: What is Heather Morris thinking? Are they keeping up? Yeah.
[2:06:33] Elijah: Yeah, exactly. What else do we have to say?
[2:06:35] Amelia: Um, yeah. So only one tie, which in previous rounds, there were I think at least two or three. Don't know I'm off the top of my head. But yeah, so and then I have some of the Patreon poll vote back stats.
[2:07:01] Elijah: Oh, okay, fun, which so, you know, so far we've had Bohemian Rhapsody come back anyway, you want it love and touch and squeeze in run Joey run, my man, Valerie, Jesse's girl, Thriller heads will roll. And then Homeward Bound home.
[2:07:14] Amelia: Thank you so much for doing that. Because that should have been my job to kind of announce all of the songs.
[2:07:20] Elijah: There's a tab.
[2:07:23] Amelia: And then so out of all of those, the one that had the highest percentage to be voted back was Bohemian Rhapsody. I mean, who are we kidding? Right? Yeah. Um, and that was with 93 votes. And then yeah, so then just basically in order here. So Bohemian Rhapsody voted back with 63. Anyway, you want it love and touch and squeeze in with 62%. Run Joey run with 56%. My man with 51%. Valerie with 49%. Jesse's girl with 42%. Thriller's head Thriller head will roll for 41%. Yeah. And then the one that had the least amount percentage wise to go into round four was Homeward Bound home with only 35%. And then we get to the fun part. Pity votes, which is my favorite thing to keep track of because everybody comes for you for doing your pity votes. But I love it. Like, oh, thank you so much. Yeah.
[2:08:31] Elijah: And I'm sure the votes. Well, I just can't she did. Oh, of course. I guess I have to be pro. You have to be pro. You're anti pity votes and you're still doing it. Yeah. Yeah. But um, so pity votes this round, including the one that Amelia just did. We have 10. Only 10. Yeah. And if I let me, let me see. So we had 10 this round. How many pity votes do we have? So Andrew, at least with you. So I'll just say here, you did six pity votes this round, out of the total 10. In previous rounds, round two, you only did eight. Yeah. And then in round one, there was 20.
[2:09:18] Amelia: Wait, but there were so many. Of course. Yeah. But that's so funny. 20. Yeah. So we have 10 pity votes. Total. Yeah. Six from you, Andrew. Human nature. Yeah. Last Christmas. Of course. You learn you've got a friend. Uh-huh. On my own, which I don't agree with. Oh, no. Okay. Well, if you remember, it took out my baby home. Christian K. Chen. Yeah. But there's, there's actually so much happening in on my own that, oh my god, don't even get me started. Anyway. And then Love Song, obviously. Yes. I remember that one. And then, I believe you did this for Amelia. You did I Still Believe Super Bass. Yes, I did. Yeah. Yeah. It was. Yeah. And then we have two from Allison. Uh-huh. Raise Your Glass, season two.
Yeah. And then So Emotional. Oh, yeah. Valid. She was kind of like doing like a villain kind of like come to terms with So Emotional. Yeah. And then two people have done one pity vote. Abby and then Amelia. Uh-huh. So, obviously, Amelia just did Nutbush City Limits. Yeah. And then Abby did A Hard Day's Night. I remember that. And I, I remember eye rolling to that. Uh, yeah. I, yeah. And then, I, last thing here, I believe this is the last that I have. There was one competition or one vote that was an NA vote. So, not applicable. And I even meant, I even messaged you about it. Oh, man. So, it was back in, which you, you'd mentioned the song earlier. Yeah.
[2:11:20] Elijah: It was after, in the episode, After a Long Day of Work. I don't want to overreach that. Yeah. And it was in more than words versus be okay. Oh, and you did not vote. And you messaged me and you were like, what would you vote for? And I think I said, I don't actually have a vote. Yeah, I, I, I think I, I don't remember what I said. I was like, they're actually, I didn't, I wasn't voting. Yeah, you're like, I would rather die than vote for either of these. No, because like, they actually are both good. Can we actually like, agree? Like, they're good songs and we're streaming them, but they're so complicated for other reasons that I'm like, oh, I wish that they weren't perfectly matched in this way. You know?
[2:12:00] Amelia: Yeah. Yeah. But, um, so I said, I said, just a quick question, Andrew, before the new episode comes out and the competition between more than words and be okay, did you place a vote for a specific song? Yeah. And then you said, I did not vote with the, um, sad face emoji. Yeah. And honestly, I don't even know what I would vote for. So I plead the fifth.
[2:12:26] Elijah: Perfect. Um, wait, so Elijah, what are the final things that you have analytics wise before throwing it over to me? That was it. Oh, that's it. That was it. Yep. Hey, thank you so much. Truly, really incredible. Like you and Amelia are such, I know that like, you're not particularly like working together together, but like, I think it like you guys like compliment each other so well that like, you guys are both doing such incredible work. And it's such a great resource for me and all the Gleeks to have that it's like, I can rely on y'all amongst all the things that like, I'm sure that you're doing that it's like the fact that you continue to do this, like year after year, I am like, constantly like so indebted to y'all. So
[2:13:15] Andrew: Thank you so much. Amelia, with that being said, let's go over to you. What analytics do you have? I feel like do we have like, we have some like kind of like character season vibes?
[2:13:25] Amelia Otto: Yeah, we can do some highlights. Definitely. I sent the doc if you want to look at it. Um, but just straight for the numbers at the beginning, we're after these final two are brought back, we'll have 100 songs to round four. And that'll leave 80 songs left behind in round three, which um, we had 162 stay behind round two and 324 staying behind in round one for a total of 566 songs that have been ordered out of the clock. Elijah already covered the songs brought back. So in round one, there were 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 episodes that had all the songs going through. Um, and those five episodes are Roads Not Taken, Vitamin Z, Born This Way, Kitty Gaga, and 100. And they all got at least one song knocked out in round two.
[2:14:16] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:14:17] Amelia Otto: Um, but in round three, they all have 50% or less of their songs.
[2:14:23] Andrew: Oh, interesting.
[2:14:24] Amelia Otto: Yeah, because I'm looking at Roads Not Taken, two of the four are still here, that would be maybe This Time, and Oh, Somebody to Love. And then Vitamin D would be one of the two is still around. Of course, that's Halo Walking on Sunshine, Born This Way. I'm just testing my memory here. Born This Way, two of the five are here, and that's Somewhere Only We Know, and I Feel Pretty. I'm Pretty, Kitty or Gaga, one of the four is still here, and that's Wide Awake. And then 100, none of the songs are still here, which I think kind of like makes sense at this point.
[2:15:04] Andrew: We're done.
[2:15:05] Amelia Otto: Yes. Yeah, you can't beat the original. Right. Okay, and then episode like Glee episodes have zero songs going to round three.
[2:15:15] Andrew: Oh my god, four, because I took the dock from last time. Um, there are 27 episodes. So these are new episodes. They had songs that were in round three, but now none of their songs are in round four. 27.
[2:15:30] Amelia Otto: Yeah, so that's now 56 episodes total that have no songs.
[2:15:34] Andrew: Wow. Wait, can I say this list really quickly? Stream, stream run them.
[2:15:39] Amelia Otto: Dream On, Audition, Grilled Cheeses, Fur, A Very Glee Christmas, Comeback, Original Song, I'm Unicorn, Asian F, Pot of Gold, Big Brother, Promisaurus, Goodbye, Britney 2.0, The Role You Were Born to Play, Dynamic Duets, Naked, Diva, I Do, Feud, Love, Love, Love, The End of Twerk, City of Angels, 100, Backup Plan, and Child Star.
[2:16:04] Andrew: Wow. So subtract one because I did have End of Twerk there twice. That's, oh, so it's 26.
[2:16:11] Amelia Otto: Um, some of them. Yes. Asian F I gave a shout out to is so surprising, but also like, honestly, like Naked, Naked is so surprising to me. I love all the songs.
[2:16:23] Andrew: Oh, wait, Diva. No, but oh, yeah, now we don't.
[2:16:27] Amelia Otto: Oh, Diva's now. Yeah, Nutbush is gone. So Diva's gone.
[2:16:30] Andrew: Diva's gone. Wow. I know. Um, that's, that's something.
[2:16:35] Amelia Otto: Okay, go on. But it only had, Diva only had this round. I had Diva, Hung Up, Nutbush, and Hung Up.
[2:16:46] Andrew: Yeah, and all three of them gone. So recent that Nutbush will be back for Doomsday. We'll see. Um, I was gonna list out all the episodes that still have songs, but that seems like a lot. So season one has 17 episodes, season two has 15, season three has 12, season four has 10, season five has eight, and season six has six songs left. I mean, for season six, 13 episodes, that's pretty, that's good.
[2:17:10] Amelia Otto: That's pretty good. Yeah.
[2:17:12] Andrew: Yeah. But I think it, we can see how many songs are left in season six. It's down there somewhere. I wrote it down somewhere. It's in here. There's a giant table.
[2:17:23] Amelia Otto: Yeah. And then highest number of episodes that had three or more songs. So a lot of episodes have either one or two songs. But Throwdown has three, Power of Madonna has four, Bad Reputation has three, Journey to Regionals has four, and Britney, Britney has three. Very fun.
[2:17:43] Andrew: And when you look at the songs, or look at the episodes that had the most number of songs in the last round, Power of Madonna was still up there. And so was Journey to Regionals, but the rest kind of shifted.
[2:17:55] Amelia Otto: Okay. Wow. So Power of Madonna and Journey to Regionals are kind of like holding on tight.
[2:18:00] Andrew: Yes. What was the one we lost from Power of Madonna? Was it Like a Virgin?
[2:18:08] Amelia Otto: Yes.
[2:18:09] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:18:10] Amelia Otto: Yeah. So they're still holding pretty strong. But Journey to Regionals, yeah, had all four.
[2:18:15] Andrew: Okay. Didn't lose any of the songs from last round.
[2:18:18] Amelia Otto: Okay. Because that's, that's Faithfully, that's Any Way You Want It, Bohemian Rhapsody. And what's the fourth one?
[2:18:26] Andrew: To Serve with Love.
[2:18:27] Amelia Otto: Oh, To Serve with Love. Of course. Yeah.
[2:18:30] Andrew: Yeah. Okay. All right. Continue.
[2:18:32] Amelia Otto: Okay. And then going into round four, we have 31 songs from season one, 25 from season two, 14 from season three, 12 from season four, nine from season five, and seven songs from season six.
[2:18:53] Andrew: Oh, never mind. There you go. But still, like, because what I think that they had, I remember, this was so funny, when season six was airing, that there was fully 69 songs in all of season six. So seven, seven out of 69, making it to the top 100 is pretty good.
[2:19:13] Amelia Otto: And I mean, going from round two, there, there was 11. So they only lost.
[2:19:17] Andrew: Yeah, it only lost four. That's good. Okay. Which makes sense of like, the strong ones still left in season six. So it really is a gradual, like, season one, like, it just really, it's going down as the series continues.
[2:19:31] Amelia Otto: But when you look at round two stats, for season one, for round three, it's like almost 32% of the songs are from round one. And in round two, that number is only 22%.
[2:19:45] Andrew: Oh, interesting.
[2:19:46] Amelia Otto: So it's definitely heavier. But then for season two, it's 25 and 24%. So like more similar. And then we have the Losers by Season, which is a more eclectic mix here.
[2:20:00] Andrew: Yes, definitely.
[2:20:01] Amelia Otto: Season one, nine songs. Season two, 19 songs. Season three, 24 songs. Season four, 14 songs. Season five, 11 songs. And season six only lost four songs.
[2:20:14] Andrew: So like this round, we really kind of turned our back on season three. We were like, yes, which kind of season three was the highest in round two.
[2:20:19] Amelia Otto: Yeah. As well.
[2:20:21] Andrew: Or season four was the highest by far in round one.
[2:20:26] Amelia Otto: Yeah. Okay. So now we have a giant table.
[2:20:32] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:20:33] Amelia Otto: Where basically, it's the total percentage of all the songs per season.
[2:20:40] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:20:41] Amelia Otto: That are going through. So why said the number of each songs? It's like 31 in season one, like XYZ. But of all of the season one songs, 32.6% are going into round four.
[2:20:53] Andrew: That's really impressive. That's a third.
[2:20:55] Amelia Otto: Yeah. Wow. And then for round two, that becomes like 20.5. Or sorry, season two. Season three is 10.6%. Season four, 9.7. Season five, 7.7. So got rid of a lot of season five, even in round one, because only 55% was lost in round one.
[2:21:11] Andrew: Wow.
[2:21:12] Amelia Otto: Season six, we have 10.1%, where in that case, 62.3% was lost in round one.
[2:21:30] Andrew: These numbers are getting crazy that I'm like, I actually don't know how to store them in my little tiny thing, you know?
[2:21:37] Amelia Otto: Okay. So now we're at this. This is ridiculous. Solo analysis, which I feel like we just need to go through and just like.
[2:21:43] Andrew: There's a summary.
[2:21:50] Amelia Otto: Yes. Oh, is it at the end? Don't worry. Yes. Oh, at the end of all the solos. So characters who have lost all of their solos, there's a chunk that lost all of them in round one, round two. Now in round three, we've lost Elliot Starchild. We've lost Marlee, Mike, Myron, Puck, Rory, Ryder, Sunshine, and Xisys. I think that this group of characters make sense, right?
[2:22:10] Andrew: Yeah. I'm really happy to see Artie is not on this list. Thank God.
[2:22:16] Amelia Otto: Right? Yeah. So yeah, it was getting scary for him.
[2:22:23] Andrew: Most solos in round four, which is more than three, because like a handful of people had one, two, three. Mercedes has the most at eight, which, that's a lot. We need to kind of just like, girl, enough. We need to cut.
[2:22:38] Amelia Otto: I think that honestly, my mission statement, and people are gonna be mad at me for this. My mission statement for round four, we're cutting that in half. We're saying four.
[2:22:48] Andrew: I think that's reasonable.
[2:22:49] Amelia Otto: Elijah just like gassed. What? Wait, do we want to see what's left?
[2:22:56] Andrew: Yeah. What's left?
[2:22:57] Amelia Otto: Bust your windows and I'm telling you I'm not going. Speak transvestite, ain't no way. Try a little tenderness, disco infernal, natural woman, someday we'll be together.
[2:23:08] Andrew: Okay, so I'm telling you right now. Okay, you know what, now that I think about it, there are four songs there that we could get rid of.
[2:23:16] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[2:23:17] Andrew: Okay, wait, I'm getting rid of someday we'll be together, done. I'm getting rid of natural woman, done. I'm getting rid of, I'm getting rid of try a little tenderness.
[2:23:28] Amelia Otto: And then honestly, so the other ones are disco infernal, ain't no way, speak transvestite, and I'm telling you I'm not going and bust your windows. I don't know if I can make a fourth decision.
[2:23:31] Andrew: I'd go ain't no way.
[2:23:42] Amelia Otto: Oh, no. Wrong. That's a take.
[2:23:43] Andrew: Okay, nevermind. I'll just put myself on speak transvestite, but like honestly, no, we need that actually. I think that that's gonna depend on the competition.
[2:23:51] Amelia Otto: Yeah.
[2:23:52] Andrew: And like, who's in the room?
[2:23:54] Amelia Otto: Oh, yeah. So because I think that with some audiences, it just doesn't hit.
[2:23:56] Andrew: I'm not that, but like, however, stay safe.
[2:24:01] Amelia Otto: Um, okay. And then second place, Blaine has six solos.
[2:24:07] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:24:08] Amelia Otto: Teenage dream, both teenage dreams, somewhere we go sometimes not gonna teach your boyfriend cough syrup. It's not right, but it's okay. I love all of them, which
[2:24:17] Andrew: Wait, how many are here?
[2:24:18] Amelia Otto: Six.
[2:24:19] Andrew: Uh, if we if we're doing the same exercise of cutting it in half.
[2:24:24] Amelia Otto: Oh, I don't want to.
[2:24:25] Andrew: Wait, what are the songs again?
[2:24:28] Amelia Otto: Both teenage dreams somewhere only we know. I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you cough syrup. It's not right, but it's okay.
[2:24:38] Andrew: Yes. Okay, so I'm getting rid of teenage dream season two. I'm getting rid of um, okay, people are gonna hate me for this. I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you.
[2:24:49] Amelia Otto: Oh, no, I can't actually do that. Remember when like, like roll the tapes back when we just defended this? Like, come on.
[2:25:01] Andrew: I wholeheartedly agree with that opinion.
[2:25:02] Amelia Otto: No, I'm saying it's not right, but it's okay is is on the chopping block. And I also think that I think it's like, honestly, between these are so diametrically different songs. I understand cough syrup, and I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you. But I think that I could hear out an argument to chop either one.
[2:25:17] Andrew: Interesting.
[2:25:18] Amelia Otto: I think I would keep cough syrup.
[2:25:22] Andrew: I would keep cough syrup. You already know my feelings.
[2:25:29] Amelia Otto: Okay, that's hard. I hope that I'm not there. Well, I need to be there. But like, I'm not even saying somewhere only we know. But like, honestly, that has been that's never been a song that made sense to me. And I understand that it just means a lot to other people. So like, I just, yeah, I'm just going to be voted out for that. Like, I will be like, I'm not voting for you.
[2:25:43] Andrew: That's fair. But I understand that people really like it.
[2:25:48] Amelia Otto: Okay.
[2:25:49] Andrew: Anyway, yeah. And then, um, and then Rachel and Santana both have four.
[2:25:57] Amelia Otto: Oh, Rachel only has four.
[2:25:58] Andrew: And one of them is baby one more time.
[2:26:04] Amelia Otto: Okay, so I can cut that in half easily.
[2:26:06] Andrew: Oh yeah.
[2:26:07] Amelia Otto: I, you know, like the the tick tock kind of like trying to cut something in half and it's like, oh, I got 47%.
[2:26:11] Andrew: Um, yeah.
[2:26:12] Amelia Otto: Oh, it's like easy to cut in half. That's actually what are the Rachel?
[2:26:19] Andrew: What Rachel ones do we have left?
[2:26:20] Amelia Otto: With Drumpf baby one more time. The only exception in my man.
[2:26:25] Andrew: Oh, yeah. Drumpf and my man are going.
[2:26:33] Amelia Otto: Oh, you're gonna pick only exception over my man.
[2:26:34] Andrew: Are you kidding me?
[2:26:36] Amelia Otto: Yeah. You know.
[2:26:37] Andrew: Get him.
[2:26:38] Amelia Otto: Get him banned.
[2:26:39] Andrew: Where's Edwardo when you need him?
[2:26:41] Amelia Otto: Oh, I am sure he will be there. You both are not seeing the vision with only exception at all. I mean, it's a good song. It's just not better than my man and Drumpf.
[2:26:54] Andrew: No. Facts are facts America.
[2:26:56] Amelia Otto: It's actually opinions based.
[2:26:58] Andrew: Um, okay. So.
[2:27:01] Amelia Otto: All right. Who and then we have Santana next.
[2:27:06] Andrew: Valerie Songbird, mine, Drumpf.
[2:27:11] Amelia Otto: Okay. I think that we're I think I'd say Drumpf and mine.
[2:27:16] Andrew: Honestly, you're saying Drumpf. Famously, I don't love Santana's Drumpf.
[2:27:22] Amelia Otto: I'm not a huge fan of her Drumpf either.
[2:27:24] Andrew: I mean, mine is definitely on there. I think I love okay, but Valerie is like the song that got me into Glee. So like I have to.
[2:27:36] Amelia Otto: You both weren't there. But Valerie was such a moment that like.
[2:27:41] Andrew: Famously five years old.
[2:27:43] Amelia Otto: That's insane. It makes me sick. But Valerie, like that was just like Glee put that song to another caliber that like we would it just like it would just be playing everywhere now. It's just that was such a moment.
[2:27:58] Andrew: But I think that for me, Drumpf, I can already hear the argument of getting rid of that.
[2:28:04] Andrew: But I can also hear the argument of like, I'm also saying these things and I know that people are like probably sick to their stomach listening to this conversation. They're like, "Oh my God, my babies are like kind of like being like sacrificed, tortured."
[2:28:16] Elijah: Yeah, tortured right in front of my face.
[2:28:21] Andrew: Yeah, but nothing is happening right now, by the way. Um, don't run away. Pray. No, this is, this is, we're making round five.
[2:28:27] Amelia: Round five! We're just going right into round six.
[2:28:30] Andrew: Yes. No, if you don't see audio medium, Andrew is holding a gun right at...
[2:28:36] Elijah: Yes, it's right out of making them beg.
[2:28:41] Andrew: Making them... Oh my God, no, but we're getting rid of it. And hey guys, spoiler alert, Gleek Out Brazil just posted that where that drop is out in round, uh, what are we doing? Four?
[2:28:50] Elijah: Uh-huh.
[2:28:50] Andrew: And also, uh, I think Songbird is... Oh, I don't know. I think that like Songbirds are like the same font, so I'm like, what interchangeable shoes? Anyway, anyway, um, yeah, last round, the four of them also had the most solos. Rachel had 11, Blaine had 11, which means Rachel lost seven, Blaine lost five, Mercedes only lost one solo, okay? And Santana lost three.
[2:29:15] Elijah: What was the one solo that Mercedes lost? Was it "Held to the Now"?
[2:29:15] Andrew: Yes, yeah. Oh wait, are my numbers... Oh wait, and then also "I Left You," yeah, so that's not... Yeah, so there's a number missing somewhere. That's okay, but close enough.
[2:29:29] Amelia: Okay, so, um, we're going on to duets.
[2:29:39] Andrew: Yes, okay, so same thing. So many, it's like duets are confusing because there's so many people just have like one duet with one pair. Um, but in this round, the pairs that were knocked out were, um, Blaine and Cooper, Blaine and Sue, Finn and Blaine, Jake and Ryder, Kurt and Blaine, Mercedes and Rachel, Mike and Tina, Rachel and Shelby, Rachel and Will, and Mercedes and Unique and Ryder. Will and... Oh, Will and April is not true anymore, actually.
[2:30:04] Elijah: Um, wait, I want to say, okay, Mercedes and Rachel, I play by Glee Wiki rules and I can... Okay, am I wrong?
[2:30:12] Andrew: No, you're fine. It's actually okay and none of this is actually important, um, as you should hopefully be aware. Um, okay, so Mercedes and Rachel, the Glee Wiki has listed that "Halo/Walking on Sunshine" is a Mercedes because they are the only two people that went into the studio.
[2:30:26] Elijah: What do you... Okay, wait.
[2:30:31] Andrew: Yeah, I just think that like I would never like... That's like a girl song. No, that's just me being annoying and just... Anyway, wait, so remember when I started doing this and then I had everyone fill out the giant spreadsheet of like all the... So I think that that ended up being, um, New Direction Girls.
[2:30:48] Elijah: Oh, that's probably why. Okay, it's so much fun and they, the Gleeks voted. Alright, okay, yes.
[2:30:55] Andrew: Um, yeah, so all those people, bye-bye. And with so many other people, Blaine and Cooper hurts.
[2:31:04] Elijah: Blaine and Cooper, "Hungry Like the Wolf," Rio, like, rip. But also, like, that was my episode. That was the song I voted for.
[2:31:09] Andrew: And no, and I respect it and I love it, but like what one against it?
[2:31:15] Elijah: "Here Comes the Sun."
[2:31:15] Andrew: Oh, okay. I would have voted "Here."
[2:31:23] Elijah: Yeah, I know, I know.
[2:31:23] Andrew: That's cute. I'm like, I think that... Yeah, no, that's rough. Um, like there is a correct answer. I mean, obviously like the big one that I'm kind of like, the big one here is Kurt and Blaine.
[2:31:38] Elijah: Um, and then that's crazy. No more clean duets and then also no more Rachel Shelby duets, which every time that they went into the studio, legendary.
[2:31:44] Andrew: Um, I mean, I'd say Unique and Ryder too, like we lost a big diva.
[2:31:50] Elijah: Yeah, I love bitches. Um, what are we moving on to next? Mashups?
[2:31:59] Andrew: Yeah, just wait. One who has the most duets?
[2:32:06] Elijah: Finn and Rachel have three. Brittany and Santana, two. Mercedes and Santana...
[2:32:06] Andrew: Wait, can I guess the three? Finn and Rachel, so we have "Faithfully," we have "Please," uh, "Nowhere," we have... What is the other potential duet? Is it "Borderline"?
[2:32:14] Elijah: Those are really good picks for them, yeah.
[2:32:23] Andrew: Um, and then Brittany and Santana, yeah, "Me Against the Music" and the "Jagged Little Tapestry," "Hand in My Pocket," "I Feel the Earth Move," and then Mercedes and Santana, "Dancing Queen" and also, um, "River Deep, Mountain High," of course. Beautiful. Okay, perfect. I'm glad I did, yes.
[2:32:43] Elijah: Effectively mashup. Okay, so this is similar to before where it's like mashups of the total number of mashups.
[2:32:50] Andrew: Yeah, um, but we have 16 going to round four, okay? Which is 37 percent of the total, so we've about one third of them, just over a third, going into round four.
[2:33:00] Elijah: Wow, yeah, but that makes sense. There's 43 total mashups, huh?
[2:33:06] Andrew: Um, we only lost four in the last round: "Hungry Like the Wolf," "Rio," "Bitches Back," "Dress You Up," "I Still Believe," "Super Bass," and "You've Got a Friend," which as much as like these are all great and I'm glad that they made it to round three, but these are kind of the ones to me.
[2:33:19] Elijah: Yeah, that's fair because when I'm looking at the ones that did make it, and I won't list them all because there are so many of them, but like they're all the ones that made it. I'm looking at "Halo/Walking on Sunshine," I'm thinking about "Rumor Has It," "Someone Like You," like "Turkey," "Turkey Key," all of these ones are so iconic and hold such a special place, so like I'm very happy with this list. We did a really good job on the Glacket so far.
[2:33:43] Andrew: Um, beautiful. Okay, go. And then there's literally one more category, which is something we added at the end of the last round.
[2:33:56] Elijah: Wait, I'm not gonna read all this out, but, um, so we added at the end of last round of like the competition winners, how those episodes performed like in future rounds.
[2:34:03] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:34:11] Elijah: So what episode? 86, Karofsky Historian withdrew. Yes. Um, all of those winners are going into round four.
[2:34:20] Andrew: Wait, so what's... I remember that was like "Scientists," that was "Broadway Baby," "Never Can Say Yes," "Never Can Say Goodbye," and "I Say a Little Prayer." So "Broadway Baby" was like voted back and all four of them are going back.
[2:34:31] Elijah: Oh wow, right of all. Wow, yeah, that's huge because I remember the Glonsky episode last round was like a big one, but then I guess, um, "We Are Young" got voted out and so no longer eligible.
[2:34:45] Andrew: Um, I think I'm going to read this list, um, because I love just like kind of just saying funny titles. So the songs that, um, that have no songs in round four, um, these are all round one episodes: "I Hate Your Heart," "A Crack House Nonetheless," "Muppet Treasure Island," "Schrodinger's Glee," "Middle of the Road," "Rollo Gleeks from Down Under," "Cheese Couples Counseling," "Gleecast Version," "Daddy Knows Best," "Johnny Tromboner," "You, Us, Me," "Marissa with Mercer," "The Cheese Was Strong," "Marina and the Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," "Gay and European," "Ride or Die with Amelia," um, "Gleeks That Are Teats," uh, "Bruno Mars Bogo," I love that one, um, "Access Granted," "Shot in the Butt," um, "Quinn for Bright Representation," "Shimmying Audio Medium," "Loose Cannon," "Myron," "Your Mom's Glacket," "The Real EGOT," "Flame Mignon," "Glitter is Glee Litter," and "Darren Chris Decade." And without looking at a list, all of those episodes have no songs in round four.
[2:35:51] Elijah: That's great. Did you have a favorite title of those?
[2:35:57] Andrew: They're all so good. "Access Granted" is funny.
[2:36:05] Elijah: "Flame Mignon."
[2:36:05] Andrew: "Bruno Mars Bogo" is really good. I love "Bruno Mars Bogo."
[2:36:11] Elijah: Yeah, I think you mentioned this. We really need to have... Well, I don't know if this is something that is done after the podcast is over, yeah, but somebody, you need to hire like a Hollywood voice actor to read all of these.
[2:36:23] Andrew: I know! I was thinking about it and I was like, how do I kind of just like send in a world? Yeah, like divvy them up and be like, "Hi, Jenna Ushkowitz, you read these ones. Kevin McHale, these. Alice Stroker, you read these."
[2:36:37] Elijah: Um, Ryan Murphy, read this one.
[2:36:44] Andrew: Ryan Murphy, read this one, please.
[2:36:49] Elijah: Uh, and it's the Glee boots announced. That's what he's gonna announce. He's... I'm gonna trick him into announcing a Glee boot.
[2:36:56] Andrew: Um, perfect. So what are we... There's some other ones here too. Wait, what?
[2:37:01] Elijah: So those are the ones that lost in round two and then there's the round two episodes that made it to round four.
[2:37:08] Andrew: Oh, which there's one, two... There's so many. These are the round two episodes that have no songs around four.
[2:37:15] Elijah: Yeah, well those, yes. So that like little indent is like, yeah, round one episodes that got booted in round two.
[2:37:21] Andrew: Yeah, and then there's a separate which is round two episodes to round four.
[2:37:28] Elijah: Yeah, okay, so there's what, one, two... There's ten that have all the songs going through and six that have no songs.
[2:37:36] Andrew: Wow, that's it because Elijah, I stole her my rest.
[2:37:41] Elijah: No, no, about just guest count, but I just have, you know, I always do the little list of Glee guests and Glee project guests.
[2:37:48] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:37:48] Elijah: So you have Heather Morris, Jenna Ushkowitz, Samuel Arson, Damien McKinsey, Kevin McHale, and then Lily Mae Harrington, Abraham Lynn, and then Samuel Arson, Damien McKinsey. But yeah, yeah, but that's... That's all I have. A 31-page document, that's all I have.
[2:38:02] Andrew: I just have this small little 31-page document. I don't know, I think mine was six pages.
[2:38:10] Elijah: Oh yeah, you know.
[2:38:10] Andrew: Um, oh my God, I cannot reiterate enough how much this means to me. Thank you so much for all the work that you've done. Like literally, I... Oh my God, because I would take it on myself, but I'm already... These are my shower thoughts already of the Glacket, and so I'm like constantly thinking about it already, so I could not imagine taking this on. So I'm very, very thankful that you've taken on the reins.
[2:38:33] Elijah: I love it. And are you still working on that one? Didn't you make a document where it was like the journey of all songs?
[2:38:38] Andrew: I do update that after every recording. Um, and so yeah, I have a document where, um, it's like the songs that are in round four and like who kind of like is underneath of them, uh, the songs that they beat and all the songs that those songs also beat.
[2:38:59] Elijah: Wow.
[2:39:07] Andrew: So I think like each song to get into round four typically has like seven songs under them, so yeah, that's like a fun document to update. Um, so if you want to, if you want to see that document, you can message me and I'll send it to you. Um, it's really interesting.
[2:39:19] Elijah: Uh, but I think that truly with all the voicemails in this episode as well, I think that this episode will probably be upwards of close to three hours, which are we saying it's not? That's not... Is it? It's not gonna break... I mean, it'll probably be the longest episode, so...
[2:39:33] Andrew: Oh, you can edit that out and then like self-insert.
[2:39:43] Elijah: Um, okay, thank you so much. Um, round four, uh, reminder starts on June 2nd. If you want to listen to that episode early, it will be released the Friday before on Patreon.
[2:40:02] Andrew: Um, of course, go to patreon.com/gleekoftheweekpod to listen to that early episode as well as every early episode, um, a few days early, as well as vote back all those songs. Um, it's gonna be really, really crazy. Round four, we are looking at a hundred songs, a hundred of the best songs on the show and a few little sneaks, and uh, we're gonna be chopping it in half and going on to round five with 50 songs.
[2:40:28] Elijah: And so I think that I did the, um, like a little like pseudo schedule for round four and it is of course 25 episodes.
[2:40:36] Andrew: Um, that's wild. And so it's gonna be really, really wild. So if you have any ideas, you better have us back on.
[2:40:52] Elijah: Yeah, oh, this was so much fun, of course. I love, yeah.
[2:40:52] Andrew: Um, if you have any ideas, um, of like ways that we can like switch up because I like little like kind of like changes each round, um, of like how we can like kind of elevate the Glacket, um, let me know. I'm always receptive to your ideas and always the ideas are always so good and creative.
[2:41:13] Elijah: And as well as I know that I announced at the beginning of this round that we would be doing gloicemails more often, but then that was something that I completely forgot.
[2:41:23] Andrew: Um, so let's try to do the gloicemails again. If you want to send in a gloicemail, and the gloicemail can truly be about every, any everything, anything, um, everything and anything, that number is 347-719-1160, and you can just be our, the drunk dial.
[2:41:37] Elijah: Um, whenever you need to get out your butt dial.
[2:41:43] Andrew: Yeah, your butt dial. Just we'll play it on the podcast like what's going on from inside your pocket.
[2:41:48] Elijah: Um, okay, thank you so much. Is there anything that you would like to promote? Anything that you want to impart with the Gleeks?
[2:41:55] Amelia: No, I'm pretty boring.
[2:41:55] Elijah: Yeah, me too.
[2:42:03] Andrew: No, stop. After there was nothing about the conversation that was boring. Stop.
[2:42:10] Amelia: It's well, no, I just like numbers. I'm an engineer, you know? I just have OCD in my brain that I like to visualize things.
[2:42:16] Andrew: So watch this space. Amelia and Elijah are taking over the world. They're starting with the Glacket and join the Patreon. Maybe you'll get some...
[2:42:21] Elijah: Oh my gosh, yeah, released by me and Amelia before you can chit chat there.
[2:42:27] Andrew: Yeah, I love chit chatting. We get a little bit like kind of like shady. We kind of talk a little bit like a little bit, huh? Why'd this, why'd this Glee cast member post this kind of weird?
[2:42:38] Elijah: Um, and so that's another little plug. Anyway, until round four, see you then.
[2:42:49] Andrew: It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
