[0:00] Andrew: Glee.
[0:04] Allison: Okay, here we go.
[0:06] Andrew: Okay, everybody.
[0:07] Allison: Oh.
[0:08] Andrew: What are we doing here? Where are we going? Three, two, one.
[0:10] Allison: Three, two, one.
[0:17] Andrew: God. I'm gonna say it. This is so mean. You look unwell.
[0:24] Allison: Hair drenched.
[0:25] Andrew: Dressed. You just get it wrapped around me. I look like what's going on. I'm tired. I'm having my womanly flow and I'm exhausted by life and my human form.
[0:42] Allison: A little gleak behind the curtains.
[0:45] Andrew: Um, as they say. A little that's it's it's a peak behind the curtains, but it's a gleak behind the curtains, okay? Just bear with me.
[0:52] Allison: Um, we recorded an episode last night, which we we we hardly ever do.
[0:58] Andrew: Two nights in a row.
[0:59] Allison: Two nights in a row. I we used to do this semi-frequently.
[1:04] Andrew: Back like, yeah, I don't for whatever reason, but like we needed to stack up because oh god.
[1:12] Allison: I don't I don't even want to begin explaining the calendar to the people that are listening because they are going to be in the future.
[1:19] Andrew: It's not even worth it. We're in the future, we're in the past.
[1:23] Allison: Mm-hmm.
[1:23] Andrew: My birthday was 1120, okay. And um, if if you feel so inclined um to help celebrate uh me being a person on this glod damn um gloddam earth.
[1:37] Allison: You said that and my entire body went cold because I was like, did I forget Andrew's birthday?
[1:43] Andrew: No, it's not. I'm like, we're we're playing with a fucking time zone.
[1:47] Allison: I feel so time zone?
[1:49] Andrew: No, not even a time zone. It's just the calendar. I just hate like it's just so tricky, and then explaining it to Patreon people, I hate it.
[1:59] Allison: Mm-hmm. Anyway, we need to record these episodes ahead of time. Because my birthday is next Sunday.
[2:05] Andrew: We usually record on Sundays. I wanted a week off, whatever. Anyway.
[2:11] Allison: So two nights in a row. And we were up late last night talking about Glee with Drew. Does anybody care that this is the schedule of our lives?
[2:20] Andrew: No, you're just getting the product of it.
[2:23] Allison: Okay. More content, mommy.
[2:25] Andrew: More content. I'm ready more.
[2:27] Allison: They're just like sucking at our little cheats.
[2:30] Andrew: Gleets at our cheeks.
[2:32] Allison: Gleats at our teets.
[2:34] Andrew: Frontrunner for title of that. I just said it. Um yeah, was there anything?
[2:41] Allison: Oh, you just watched Falling for Christmas today.
[2:44] Andrew: I just barely sat through the first half of Falling for Christmas today. I I I went out shopping. Um, I bought some things, I treated myself. I went and got canes for dinner. Um, all hail, raising canes. Um, and then I was like, I can't remember the last time I watched a movie, genuinely.
[3:07] Allison: Like sitting on my couch watching a movie by myself.
[3:11] Andrew: It feels like a movie, yeah.
[3:12] Allison: It yeah, it feels like a movie. Um so I was like, oh, I'll just put on a little movie move, and I put on Falling for Christmas because I was like, oh, it's it's snowing today.
[3:24] Andrew: Today's the first big snow. And uh we I should get in the spirit. Um my Christmas tree is coming via Amazon tomorrow.
[3:35] Allison: Explain that to Abraham Lincoln.
[3:37] Andrew: You can't.
[3:38] Allison: No.
[3:39] Andrew: Um. And so I sat down and I was like, okay, let's watch Falling for Christmas. Terrible.
[3:45] Allison: Really god fucking awful. I th but I think all Christmas movies are.
[3:51] Andrew: That are made like that. I can't watch them.
[3:56] Allison: No. They make me like I commend all of the that can sit down and watch these kind of movies.
[4:05] Andrew: Right. There are Hallmark movie channel geks. I mean fans. Gleeks and fans.
[4:13] Allison: Um Venn diagram could be a circle there. Got it. Well, I would be, we would both be outliers of that circle.
[4:20] Andrew: But um I don't I'm so sorry, Gleeks. Falling for Christmas did not stick the landing.
[4:26] Allison: It fell and it did not stick the landing. I really wanted it to stick because they started the movie with a Darren Chris and Adam Lambert song.
[4:36] Andrew: Right. And so like all of a sudden there's three, there's four glee cast members in this movie. Literally in this movie.
[4:42] Allison: Literally. I'm assaulted by the glee. And um then it really rapidly, rapidly went downhill.
[4:51] Andrew: Literally. Am I right?
[4:53] Allison: I thought I I did think that best momo of the film, spoiler alert, but it's in the trailer. Lindsay Lohan falling down that hill and her um her fiance trying to grab her arm, but the ring, as they've already established at that point, was too loose.
[5:13] Andrew: Too big. Um, and so and so she fell and she lost her memory.
[5:19] Allison: Yeah. Um, and then Cordover Streep swooped her up, and I'm like, sure. And I just like, well, I just can't watch these movies. I just can't.
[5:28] Andrew: The child. You know what I you know what I did immediately after? I say that I can't watch these movies, but immediately after Eliza's like, okay, because I made this post, Gleak the Week Pod on Instagram, where I was like, okay, falling for Christmas is out. Like, because I was thinking about all the Christmas movies that the Gleek has done, and there's been quite a few, as it turns out.
[5:48] Allison: And Eliza's like, well, we should watch another one.
[5:51] Andrew: And so we watched um Christmas deja vu.
[5:56] Allison: Why are you doing this to yourself?
[5:58] Andrew: And it's just it's the production value for me that it's like I can't watch it. The lighting is so I I feel so annoying saying this, but I this is my thoughts.
[6:13] Allison: These are my true thoughts. Lighting is so inconsistent scene to scene that it's like, what the fuck am I watching?
[6:20] Andrew: I Amber Riley, I'm glad that you got that check. Loretta Devine, I'm glad you got that check. Uh Lindsay Lohan, glad you got that check. Court overstreet. I'm glad that you got the check. I'm not and I'm not supposed to be impressed. That's an hour and 40 minutes that I won't be getting back of my life.
[6:38] Allison: Well, you didn't even watch it all the way through.
[6:39] Andrew: Exactly, but I still mentally put in an hour and 40 minutes into watching it.
[6:47] Allison: The additional time is taken off of your life.
[6:50] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, exactly. Even though I didn't finish it. I got all the way up to I started watching TikToks around the point when they are at like a festival and Cordover Street's like, why aren't you singing?
[7:03] Allison: I can't hear you singing. Come on, it's Christmas.
[7:06] Andrew: Yeah. And Lindsay Lohan chimes in, and I'm like, okay. But I did like the jingle bell rock nod in the car.
[7:15] Allison: Yeah.
[7:16] Andrew: A heavy nod.
[7:18] Allison: Heavy nod. It's like, okay. We know.
[7:21] Andrew: To the TikToks that you made. Yeah, and they they were that's the only reference.
[7:26] Allison: Mm-hmm.
[7:27] Andrew: Um, Cordover Street and Lindsay Lohan both have a personal connection to this song. Um yeah, I don't know. Did not do much for me.
[7:36] Allison: No.
[7:37] Andrew: Merry Christmas Greeks, I guess. No shame no shade to any of the cliques that enjoyed it or any person otherwise that enjoyed it. Um wasn't for us.
[7:50] Allison: No. We were not the target audience. Shifting gears. I have a a Glois mail.
[7:54] Andrew: Okay.
[7:56] Allison: Do you have one as well, or is it just me?
[7:58] Andrew: I you just you.
[8:00] Allison: It's just you today. That's okay. This is this is a long one, so it will make up for the both of us.
[8:05] Andrew: Okay.
[8:06] Patrick: Hello, Andrew and Elison. This is Friend of the Pod, Patrick. And I wanted to hear him. I wanted to add in my thoughts on the whole Rachel Santana frenemies thing.
[8:23] Patrick: I think one thing that never gets talked about, like I will say I am a Santana apologist. I also I feel like Rachel more than most Greeks. Um, but like Santana's true motivation for uh auditioning for the understudy was never like fully fleshed out.
[8:45] Patrick: Um, because she does have that kind of like a thrower way line where she tells Brittany, like multiple episodes later, um, oh, you know, well, like I I'm really just doing anything to like get my name out there and blah blah blah. I forget what the exact line is. But like why is that explained to the audience like multiple episodes later and it's honestly not very compelling.
[9:07] Patrick: And so then when she auditions for the understudy in Funny Girl, and maybe it it's because I haven't watched this episode in a while, but like mm, it truly does take Rachel by surprise. And I know it's for the dramatic part of television and stuff, but like ultimately, as much as I am always team Santana and always in her corner, like I think Santana definitely started it like off on the wrong foot.
[9:33] Patrick: Like she didn't tell Rachel, I'm auditioning. I know she said like, oh well, like I knew we were just gonna fight about it already. Like I feel like that was really again, like lazy writing and I don't think it was like really reflective of like what the characters were doing.
[9:49] Patrick: Like I think honestly if Santana told Rachel, Hey, I'm gonna be auditioning, maybe there would have been a fight, I don't know. But because she didn't, it kind of is hard to like take sides and overall, like toward the end of it, like Rachel is definitely in the wrong with like the racially charged stuff and whatever, but I don't know, I feel like my main point is that it was never really explained with the audience why Santana did that. And I kinda do think based off of what was given to us from the writing staff, it was like because R Santana was kinda trying to start shit. And I never liked that and I wish I got more explanations, so I think it makes sense for people to feel conflicted about this storyline. Love you, bye.
[10:34] Andrew: Bye, Patrick.
[10:36] Allison: Love of my life, Patrick.
[10:38] Andrew: Love of my life as well. Wow. Okay, we're gonna fight. Boy is mine. Gli cathurst.
[10:46] Allison: Um, what are your thoughts?
[10:49] Andrew: I get it. Um, I famously don't like that storyline because uh I it's just I it it like Patrick said, it's just kind of feels like lazy.
[11:03] Allison: Um lazy writing. I uh like the little note on how they don't explain it until several several episodes later. And it's like, yeah, duh, of course, you've worked so hard for this thing, and then your room.
[11:20] Andrew: Yes, okay. I'm talking about Rachel. You're Rachel, and you've worked so hard for this thing, and it really feels like it's kind of fallen into your lap, and you're so excited about where life is going and you can't wait, and it's kind of going to your head a little bit, maybe a lot. But then you're the person you live with who occupies the same space as you doesn't tell you that they're going to audition for this role and just kind of shows up unannounced.
[11:47] Allison: Um, that is so fucking rude.
[11:50] Andrew: And I know that she's being rude on purpose to start shit.
[11:55] Allison: Santana.
[11:56] Andrew: Yes, Santana. Yeah. I don't I unfortunately, you know, Patrick's voicemail has helped me see the light that neither Santana or Rachel is like truly like a hundred percent in the right or wrong here.
[12:11] Allison: Yes.
[12:12] Andrew: Um, because like it. Yeah, again, like you made a very solid point that Santana uh a few episodes later finally provides context for like why she wanted this thing, and she was just like, you know, I saw it as an opportunity in this. She says, like a star is a star. It doesn't matter where in the the sky it shines. And it's like, sure.
[12:37] Allison: That's kind of that's kind of Lauren Zyces's reasoning for making a sex tape, though.
[12:43] Andrew: She yeah, exactly. Yeah. Well, a star is a star is a star, you know? At least I'll be fucking famous. I have I have some I have some news to drop on you, Allison.
[12:53] Andrew: The same writers that wrote that Lauren Zeissy scene wrote that Santana scene.
[12:57] Allison: No way.
[12:59] Andrew: Um yeah. As it turns out, um, these are not characters that exist in the world world with their own um thoughts and motivations. Um I don't know. I I mean like uh it's almost like the same thing as the voicemails that I brought up last episode where it's like I sort of just want to pose this as an opinion to the Gleeks because I know that people are so it's almost like one sided with it where it's like you're either Team Rachel or Team Santana and you stand your ground and um you will not hear the other side out.
[13:37] Andrew: Uh and um yeah, I I I just want I want Patrick's word to be, you know, projected to the message.
[13:47] Allison: Thank you, Patrick.
[13:48] Andrew: Thank you, Patrick.
[13:49] Allison: Yeah.
[13:50] Andrew: Um, yeah, I mean uh uh I don't know. It's either it's Samantha's drump versus Rachel's dromp.
[13:57] Allison: Well and putting it on the polls a couple days ago, um, I watched the performance a lot over and over and over, specifically the um my bang. Um at the very end. It is very, very good. She does the damn thing. She does the damn thing. But like, I mean, the the thing that I just keep on coming back to where it's like this is so just um not even related to uh uh the characters of Rachel and Santana. It's truly just me as a viewer watching the show, where it's like I'm watching week after week of them doing Katie Gaga, end of twerk. Um and I brought this opinion up before, tired opinion, Andrew. But like, I was I was getting tired at that point. Where I'm like, I you guys are doing like 45 minutes by 45 minutes at this point.
There is no lasting conflict that is happening between episodes. And so I just remember um, I guess what, 18-year-old Andrew watching this episode and being like, I feel refreshed. I finally something that I can like I can like tune into that it's like I wonder what's going to happen with this storyline this week that is continuous. Um because I was like, I I can't do quarterback to Kitty Gaga to end of twerk to Puppet Master. No, I'm I'm exhausted.
[15:29] Andrew: Yeah. I really wish that season four, this is where I'm non-sequitur. I really wish that season four had along those same lines because I feel like this Rachel Santana battle is a lasting theme, like that comes in and out of the storyline at different parts. Um I really wish, like in my season four rewrite when when uh when Rachel and Quinn are head to head again. I wish that came back more than Rachel Santana personally.
[16:11] Allison: Oh okay. To that I would say scheduling conflicts.
[16:14] Andrew: Scheduling It's true. Uh her schedule's wide open the conflict is that she's wide open.
[16:21] Allison: Oh okay okay so no con no conflict at all.
[16:21] Andrew: No conflict at all. The conflict is that they don't want her on the show. Um I wish that was bigger drama for me than Rachel Santana ever was. It was just kind of Diva versus Diva. Whereas Rachel and Quinn they want a kiss.
[16:44] Allison: Oh okay. A little bit of sexual tension there.
[16:48] Andrew: I don't know Glee's going off tracks.
[16:52] Allison: Yeah they're you're going off the rails.
[16:54] Andrew: I'm going off the rails. I'm giving Faberry time on that no I I mean glee writers aren't brave enough to do a lot of things that being absolutely one of them.
[17:06] Allison: It's true I mean they they they threw in like throwaway lines to like Faberi that are like so like haha I s we see you but we will not respect you. Um and not give you what you want. So uh they just do be smelling like beef all the time.
[17:23] Andrew: I thought about that conversation all day today.
[17:28] Allison: Oh my god I completely forgot about that that we talked about beef so much last night last week for the Glisteners. Um yeah. Wow that's when you know the delirium had set in.
[17:40] Andrew: Set in. And maybe it will set in again this evening.
[17:44] Allison: It probably not. Wait, one last thing I want to say about um Santana Rachel. Uh because I didn't bring this up when we talked about Samantha Stromp. But um, like they were writing toward, and you like you can tell it's it's much more evident in later seasons what they're writing toward the specific actors in the series. But like it is really fucking rude that they are are like sort of exploiting the fact that these two actresses do not like each other, and they're writing an entire storyline. Um, you know, just sort of exploding that entire fact. Um so I don't know. With that in mind, I'm like, not okay with that. But me, 18-year-old Andrew, yeah, I was entertained, and I still am to this day, I'll say it.
[18:37] Andrew: Um so I just I just want that. Every breath you take.
[18:41] Allison: Oh my god, every breath you take.
[18:43] Andrew: I'm not gonna fucking deny that the vocals are there.
[18:47] Allison: Yeah, it's so good. Brave Glee Cast version by Glee Cast. I we were being fed. I mean, I I need to look back at the exact date that we got both those songs in the same day, those first Listen Fridays, as they were um referred to. Um, but that I was fed that week with Drom Samantha's version, Brave Glee Cast version, and also Every Breath You Take Glee Cast version.
[19:11] Allison: Oh my god. An insane week.
[19:13] Andrew: An insane week for songs. Just like if if you were standing the Glee cast, you were getting fed week after goddamn week. I feel like it's almost synonymous with like Swifties now.
[19:24] Allison: Yeah.
[19:25] Andrew: You were getting you're getting fed. We're getting, we're just constantly being fed. Like nobody can really say that Swifties are not getting fed.
[19:32] Allison: Yeah, it's like, okay.
[19:34] Andrew: Yeah. Adele, like, I I meant to bring this up last night when um when we were talking about midnight toward the end, where it's like, you were like, oh, you didn't listen to the entire ep uh album. And I'm like, yeah, no one even fucking talked about 30 by Adele.
[19:48] Allison: That's true. Fuck.
[19:49] Andrew: But like you didn't get shit for that, huh?
[19:52] Allison: It's true.
[19:53] Andrew: It's yeah. It's true. It's like, I'm not gonna be fed for another six years, probably.
[19:59] Allison: But you're gonna get another.
[20:05] Andrew: You know how exhausting it is being a daydreamer?
[20:08] Allison: And that's what we're fucking called, too.
[20:10] Andrew: Daydreamer.
[20:11] Allison: Really?
[20:12] Andrew: Yeah. Uh that's the first track of her um first album.
[20:17] Allison: Interesting.
[20:18] Andrew: Okay. So it's like, well, I'm I'm like sort of disappointed in the Adele fans for not coming up with something better. Like Adeleans, Adelaites?
[20:26] Allison: They're mostly 50-year-old women, so I would be okay with just being called a 50-year-old.
[20:31] Andrew: 50-year-old woman. Um, do you want to project what we are manifesting today?
[20:38] Allison: Um yeah.
[20:42] Andrew: Let me think. Okay. There's one thing that I'm thinking about. Go ahead.
[20:45] Allison: Three, two, one.
[20:55] Andrew: Crack that whip.
[20:57] Allison: Oh my god. Whip it!
[21:00] Andrew: Whip it. I don't think that we've pulled whip it yet.
[21:02] Allison: What what were you saying?
[21:03] Andrew: I was singing, I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you.
[21:06] Allison: Oh, that would be iconic. I'm I think I've been pulling crazy shit out of this cup, and I feel that it's soon. You know what? I feel like every time that we've manifested a song, it's like they never show up.
[21:18] Andrew: We do the opposite of manifesting. Whatever the opposite of manifesting is what we do in this Zoom call right here.
[21:23] Allison: Exactly. So definitely not that. Anyway, Glee, Glee! Gleeks, we are joined by a friend of the podcast, my coworker. Uh Mia, how are you?
[21:39] Mia: I am so great. I was just pre-game glee gaming by watching just like I was just picking random episodes to watch. So I just watched like the Valentine's Day one where they do the kissing booth. Cause I just rewatched the kissing booth, the movie, and I was like, Glee did this first, respectfully.
[21:55] Andrew: Right. So Joey King would have been on Glee?
[21:58] Mia: Joey K Joey King would not have survived the Glee Bug. Like no, when I watched that movie and I was looking at their houses, I was like, none of them would have survived on Glee. I was like, they're all rich. They wouldn't have survived like Miss Santana Lopez, Lima Heights adjacent, like they would have nothing.
[22:12] Andrew: Wow. Everyone in these teen dramas nowadays, they just simply would not be able to handle it.
[22:17] Mia: Wait, real question, can Joey King sing?
[22:20] Andrew: Probably not.
[22:21] Mia: Probably not. I got I hope not. And some critics would say, neither can most of the Glee cast.
[22:27] Andrew: Not me though. Wait, okay, Mia. Um, explain to us uh your relationship with the Hit Fox show Glee.
[22:35] Mia: So my relationship with the Hit Fox show Glee is I watched like my it was one of those things, like you know, my parents when I was a kid, like they wouldn't let me watch SpongeBob. They like have very specific things I could and couldn't watch. And I wasn't allowed to watch Glee when it first came out. Okay. Um, because it was one of those things that they were like, it'll numb your brain. It'll be like, you know. And so I started watching it in middle school, and I just got really into it. Um, it was like my first special interest, uh, as they say. And so I watched all of it, and then I've been revisiting it recently. I went and I played Glee trivia at the University of Minnesota. Like, I don't attend the University of Minnesota. I just like I went there, I played Glee Trivia, I won it, collected my hardware, went home. Like, I don't go to that school.
[23:20] Andrew: Um I did win.
[23:23] Mia: Okay, I did go on and play on a team with my friends who went there.
[23:26] Andrew: Okay.
[23:27] Mia: It's not like I just went in as a ringer and just like was like, hello, one. Hello, I'm here to collect first prize. Like, I'm just here for the glee. No, I did have I did like plan a team with friends who do go to the University of Minnesota, but I won the glee trivia there.
[23:41] Andrew: Um, are they geks? Are your friends geks or no?
[23:43] Mia: My oh, my friends were gleeks, yes.
[23:46] Andrew: Oh, okay. But we're wait, be honest without throwing your friends into the bus. Um, were you carrying the team?
[23:53] Mia: Actually, no, I thought I was going to be, but like they pulled some stuff that I did not remember. Like, um, it I went with a friend and then one of her friends, and like he pulled something on the song round that my ass I could not have pulled, like I it was not just me carrying.
[24:09] Andrew: Okay, okay, surprising. I was I I really was like, I'm gonna go and I'm gonna carry this team. But there were there were some deep cuts, not as deep as trivia mafia's glee trivia is gonna be because I don't Allison, I don't know if you saw it is website confirmed.
[24:22] Mia: Really?
[24:23] Andrew: If you go on triviumfia.com and you click same with Flug for Trivia Mafia if you live in Minnesota or the surrounding states. Um, if you go on trivia mafia.com. Then you click the theme night's tab, it says January Glee.
[24:34] Mia: Wait, we're doing the website confirmed. We're doing it.
[24:37] Andrew: The company that Alice and I host trivia for Allison and I host Trivia for is doing Glee trivia in January.
[24:43] Mia: Wait. Outside perspective, who writes the questions for Trivia Mafia?
[24:48] Andrew: Would would you write the questions or no?
[24:50] Mia: The editors write them, but I'm low key gonna be like, I could write some of these for y'all.
[24:54] Andrew: Oh, absolutely. Exactly. I want to get in that sound round, baby.
[24:58] Mia: I want to get in that sound round.
[25:00] Andrew: Wait, how would you do the sound round for Glee?
[25:04] Mia: I think I've thought about this, and I think the sound round for me would be the guest stars.
[25:11] Andrew: Oh, that would be so fun.
[25:13] Mia: You'd play like forget you, and you'd be like, okay, what's the song called? And also who's the celebrity that's singing it for how that's so much better than mine. Mine was like, we had played a bunch of different songs from like the sectionals and things like that, and like it'll be a little more deep cut, difficult as Trevia Mafia does for the theme nights, but it would be name the song and then which other group is singing it.
[25:34] Andrew: Like it's not New Directions, it'll be like the warblers, or it'll be oral intensity, or it'll you know.
[25:39] Mia: No, I still like that though. I do like that.
[25:42] Andrew: I like that we've both been thinking about this at length.
[25:45] Mia: Wait, I I want to ask, um, what were the what were some of the hardest questions that were asked at the trivia that you did attend at the University of Minnesota?
[25:53] Mia: Oh gosh, that's a good question. I've like somewhere I have the paper with like all my answers on it, but I don't know where it is. Let me see. I think I have a picture of me holding it.
[26:04] Andrew: So let me see if I can if I can reverse engineer it from pull up the file.
[26:04] Mia: If I can reverse engineer it from the answers on the sheet of paper. Like, there was a video round where it's like they would show a video and be like, uh, who is Sue pushing down the stairs? Or like, who is this quote being said to her? Like, fill in the rest of the and I was like, there were some pretty deep cuts in there.
[26:28] Andrew: I'm concerned because I don't know if you've noticed this about theme nights, is that uh it it it's a niche topic, so not a ton of people show up. I'm were I don't know what woodwork the gleeks would come out of.
[26:44] Mia: This is fair. I feel like there's a good amount of college gleeks.
[26:49] Andrew: Yeah.
[26:58] Andrew: Wow. Like they got they got second place. They they couldn't, they simply couldn't stack up to me.
[27:03] Mia: Yeah.
[27:03] Andrew: They couldn't hang, exactly. But um, they're very excited about trivia mafia glee.
[27:08] Allison: Glee trivia mafia, glivia mafia.
[27:11] Mia: Glivia mafia.
[27:14] Andrew: I'm so excited about okay. Let's see.
[27:18] Allison: Okay.
[27:19] Andrew: So these you're finding the answers. See, none of these are difficult to a guy like me. Like, I just know them all. Because the reason we didn't get a perfect score is we literally only missed one of the actual questions about Glee, but for their theme nights, they also just had a random actual general knowledge round of just a random trivia.
[27:39] Mia: What?
[27:40] Andrew: Like, if you look at this picture, there's only one circle. Like, we only missed one actual question about Glee at that trivia night. But then there was just a whole round of random, like Oh, no, I came here as the Gleek first, human second.
[27:55] Mia: Yeah.
[27:55] Andrew: And not to slander the University of Minnesota student activities, whatever.
[27:59] Mia: No, do it.
[27:59] Andrew: Do it. They were like, oh yeah, we just ran out of time to write more glee questions. So we just threw it over to your general knowledge box.
[28:07] Mia: Come on.
[28:07] Andrew: They're also my former employers, and I am disappointed.
[28:11] Mia: Yeah, I feel like you know like the ads where it's like there are single MILFs in your area. I feel like there are single Gleeks in your area that could have uh provided these questions.
[28:19] Andrew: Literally, like I would have done it for free. You didn't even have to like you did not have to pay me. I would have just written the questions.
[28:24] Mia: Right.
[28:25] Andrew: Yeah. They were just top of the brain.
[28:26] Mia: Yeah.
[28:27] Andrew: I'm so ready to see Trivia Maps. So I posted on the Instagram story. Give us your hardest Glee trivia questions because Mia, you and I met when I trained you in at Fulton Brewing, and you were playing the music, and I think you said, Oh, they sang this on Glee.
[28:49] Mia: And I was like, did you say that on on purpose?
[28:53] Andrew: Like, do you do you know?
[28:55] Mia: Local celebrity Allison Dodd.
[28:57] Andrew: I'm like, oh no, I just say that on every song that I hear at any point ever, actually.
[29:02] Mia: So good.
[29:03] Andrew: And I you're the one that inspired the Frankie Valley in the four seasons. Uh if they sang it on Glee that we did episode.
[29:11] Mia: Yeah.
[29:11] Andrew: I'm a full nerd. So I do have some glee trivia questions. I asked the Gleeks not to include the answers because I want to participate in this as well. And um here we go. Anyone can feel free to um to answer these.
[29:29] Mia: Who are the four people that won an Emmy for Glee?
[29:34] Andrew: People won Emmys for Glee.
[29:36] Mia: Okay.
[29:39] Andrew: Starting off really great. Um I think I know I think I know three.
[29:41] Mia: I think I know two.
[29:49] Andrew: Wait, you say your two.
[29:50] Mia: Chris Colfer.
[29:52] Andrew: Chris Colfer won a Golden Globe.
[29:55] Mia: Oh, fuck.
[29:56] Andrew: Then who the fuck won an Emmy?
[29:57] Mia: Wait, then who is the second person you knew?
[30:00] Andrew: Uh Dot Marie Jones.
[30:02] Mia: Dot Marie Jones, I think.
[30:05] Andrew: Gwyneth Paltrow, and I want to say Kristen Chenowith.
[30:10] Mia: I know that Kristen Chenowith was at least nominated.
[30:14] Andrew: I I don't know.
[30:16] Mia: These I looked through these questions. These are hard.
[30:19] Andrew: These are hard.
[30:20] Mia: That makes more sense though. Like the guest stars like this part because I'm like, there's no way anyone in the main cast won an Emmy for that show.
[30:26] Andrew: Like Um, no, yeah. Like Leah Michelle was not taking home an Emmy.
[30:30] Mia: No.
[30:30] Andrew: Who won an Emmy for Glee? Here's here's our answer.
[30:34] Mia: Um, wait.
[30:35] Andrew: Oh my god, there's so many different kinds of awards that people can win.
[30:39] Mia: What's what's an Emmy really called?
[30:43] Andrew: Wait.
[30:44] Mia: An Emmy?
[30:45] Andrew: Like an Oscar is an Academy Award.
[30:47] Mia: Oh, are they not all Academy Awards?
[30:49] Andrew: No, apparently not.
[30:50] Mia: Uh um Jane Lynch won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
[30:57] Andrew: I'm big time dumb. Neil Patrick Harris won for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.
[31:03] Mia: Uh-huh.
[31:03] Andrew: Uh Ryan Murphy won for outstanding directing directing for a comedy series.
[31:09] Mia: And then Gwyneth Peltrow won for outstanding guest actress in a comedy series.
[31:13] Mia: Who else was nominated against Ryan Murphy?
[31:16] Andrew: I have to ask.
[31:17] Mia: No, literally, I don't even know. Just seems irresponsible to me.
[31:22] Andrew: Yeah.
[31:22] Mia: But no, the Neil Patrick Harris one, like, that's so real. Like, I just started using Letterbox this year to log movies.
[31:28] Andrew: Like, I have yet to log the Glee concert movie.
[31:31] Mia: But um.
[31:32] Andrew: My review of Gone Girl on Letterboxd was just I like Neil Patrick Harris better in Glee.
[31:37] Mia: A Neil Patrick Harris joint, yeah.
[31:41] Andrew: Wait.
[31:42] Mia: Wait, I'm trying to.
[31:42] Andrew: Then there are there are questions like what song does Darren Chris hate how he sounds on it.
[31:49] Mia: That I don't know.
[31:51] Andrew: Wait.
[31:52] Mia: I'm like, I can't even pull these up. My internet is flubbing on my phone right now.
[31:57] Andrew: So um I have all of them. Don't worry about it.
[32:00] Mia: Okay.
[32:01] Andrew: Where where was Finn Hudson conceived?
[32:05] Mia: Ooh.
[32:08] Andrew: Um I don't know.
[32:12] Mia: I'm gonna I'm wait, I I I found them now. I'm gonna find some easier questions.
[32:17] Andrew: Some of the Gleeks are I mean, you understood the assignment where it was like you you asked for the toughest Glee trivia questions.
[32:25] Mia: Um, but okay, let me find I literally had multiple nightmares that I came on this and like didn't know any of the glee trivia questions, and then everyone who lost to me at Glee Trivia was like, who does this bitch think she is?
[32:37] Andrew: Like I had multiple nightmares.
[32:39] Mia: Um Mia, do you happen to know what was Lauren Zeissy's last episode before she appeared in the series finale?
[32:48] Andrew: That's a good I know she was in.
[32:52] Mia: I'm like working forward from like the beginning. I know she was in the one where they wrote the songs for like regional intersectionals, but I don't think that was the last one she was in.
[33:01] Andrew: Because I don't know if she guessed it in any of the later seasons either.
[33:03] Mia: She does guess in an episode in season four.
[33:06] Andrew: Oh, uh uh, then I'm then I'm gonna go. She she's in Sadie Hawkins in season four.
[33:12] Mia: Um yes.
[33:13] Andrew: And she's like part of like um Tina's like um club of girls.
[33:18] Mia: Yeah, girl gang.
[33:19] Patrick: Um Patrick says, Patrick says, Who sings Teenage Dream?
[33:24] Andrew: Bling!
[33:25] Mia: Thank you, Patrick!
[33:26] Andrew: Thank you, Patrick!
[33:27] Mia: Patrick King.
[33:29] Andrew: Um what type of shoes did the girls wear in the season two Raginals performance?
[33:35] Mia: Oh combat boots.
[33:38] Andrew: Combat boots.
[33:39] Mia: Oh, that's right, because that was the yes, the loser like me.
[33:43] Andrew: Yes.
[33:44] Mia: I can see them going.
[33:45] Andrew: I literally can I'm I'm still bitter about loser like me not making it out of round one of the glacket.
[33:50] Mia: I had some anyway.
[33:53] Andrew: Well we'll we'll get to that later.
[33:55] Mia: Okay.
[33:57] Andrew: It doesn't hang.
[33:59] Mia: It does not stand the test of time.
[34:00] Andrew: Loser like a gloomy song.
[34:04] Mia: It is for some reason.
[34:06] Andrew: Season five, loser like me season five is still in the running.
[34:09] Mia: We don't know if it's gonna go through.
[34:10] Andrew: I don't care about season five loser like me.
[34:12] Mia: I don't care about season five loser like me.
[34:15] Andrew: Season two loser like me.
[34:17] Mia: Mia might be our most livid guest yet.
[34:21] Andrew: Coming into the Zoom call hot as hell.
[34:24] Mia: Um wait.
[34:26] Andrew: Um, who speaks the last line of the show?
[34:28] Mia: Like, are we Chandler Bang?
[34:31] Andrew: Chandler Bang.
[34:32] Mia: That's right.
[34:33] Andrew: Mia, come on. You got this.
[34:36] Mia: Wait.
[34:37] Andrew: It's the same person that says the first line of the show.
[34:40] Mia: I feel like.
[34:42] Andrew: Oh.
[34:43] Mia: I know.
[34:45] Andrew: Mia.
[34:46] Mia: All I can think of is the last song in the show.
[34:48] Andrew: All I can think of is like fucking ended on a wonderful book song.
[34:50] Mia: That's all I can think of.
[34:51] Andrew: Wait, okay. The last first and last.
[34:56] Mia: Was it Mr. Schuster?
[34:57] Andrew: No.
[34:58] Mia: No, it was Rachel, it was Rachel.
[34:59] Andrew: No.
[35:00] Mia: What?
[35:01] Andrew: Oh god.
[35:04] Mia: Sue Sylvester.
[35:06] Andrew: Um, okay.
[35:07] Mia: Fuck, you're so sorry.
[35:09] Andrew: You are so right.
[35:11] Mia: And I'm like a Sue scan too.
[35:13] Andrew: This is embarrassing for me.
[35:14] Mia: I'm so sorry, Jane Lynch.
[35:16] Andrew: I am so sorry, Jane Lynch.
[35:19] Mia: Um go ahead.
[35:22] Andrew: No, I'm looking for some.
[35:23] Mia: Wait, what type of fan fiction does Sandy Ryerson write?
[35:27] Andrew: I don't know the answer to this.
[35:29] Mia: Oh my god.
[35:30] Andrew: I'm a Sandy Ryerson stan too because I quote who is Josh Grimm killing yourself multiple times a day.
[35:30] Mia: Showtoons, show tunes.
[35:30] Andrew: Yeah.
[35:30] Mia: Multiple times a day.
[35:40] Andrew: Um, what kind of fan fiction does he write?
[35:42] Mia: I feel like it's gotta be Archie and Jughead or some shit like that.
[35:45] Andrew: Let me go.
[35:46] Mia: I think Spencer, Spencer alluded to that in season six.
[35:49] Andrew: Okay.
[35:50] Mia: That was his Spencer line, not Sandy.
[35:53] Andrew: Um, wait, while you're Sandy and Spencer, they're one and the same.
[35:57] Mia: Um, Sue gets a tattoo at some point. What's the typo in it?
[36:00] Andrew: Sue gets a tattoo with a typo too.
[36:06] Mia: Oh yeah, I guess this is a running theme.
[36:09] Andrew: It gets bed.
[36:10] Mia: I was like, there are multiple tattoos with typers in this show.
[36:13] Andrew: Oh my god.
[36:14] Mia: Wait, Allison, do you know it?
[36:15] Andrew: I know it.
[36:16] Mia: Okay.
[36:17] Andrew: Mia.

[36:21] Andrew: I'm knowing nothing.
[36:22] Mia: No, everyone will know.
[36:25] Andrew: A glee card revoked.

[36:28] Andrew: Like, they're gonna blacklist me from hosting when we do bleed trivia.
[36:32] Mia: They're like the audio is there.
[36:34] Andrew: They're gonna be like, Mia, we don't want you to write for us.
[36:36] Mia: Like wait, Allison, what is it?
[36:40] Andrew: Sue Sylvester.
[36:42] Mia: Sylvester.
[36:45] Andrew: Sue Sylvester.
[36:48] Mia: Not watched the show enough, apparently.

[37:12] Mia: You know more than me.

[37:18] Andrew: Like the boy.
[37:19] Mia: Yeah.
[37:19] Andrew: You should have asked your followers to send in their easiest questions.
[37:22] Mia: Yeah.
[37:23] Andrew: Oh my god.
[37:25] Mia: Wait.
[37:25] Andrew: Um, this is like this is an insane question that I was very surprised.
[37:29] Mia: Okay, because I was out Friday night reading these questions while I was like out at a bar with Elias.
[37:34] Andrew: And I was like drunk off my goddamn head.
[37:38] Mia: Um reading these questions, and I was very surprised that I was able to get this one question submitted by Evie Martha.
[37:46] Andrew: Um, a bad thing happens to Rachel in the 18th episode of the first three seasons. What are they?
[37:52] Mia: One bad thing.
[37:56] Andrew: So like season one, episode 18, something bad happens to Rachel.
[38:00] Mia: Season two, episode 18, something bad happens right now.
[38:03] Andrew: Okay, season one is laryngitis, because I just watched laryngitis.
[38:06] Mia: Correct.
[38:07] Andrew: Yes.
[38:08] Mia: Two.
[38:11] Andrew: She doesn't get Indiana?

[38:15] Andrew: Season three is the choke.
[38:17] Mia: Oh season three is the seasonal.
[38:19] Andrew: Is season two where she like makes out with Blaine and then she's like, Blaine's straight for me, and then he's like, no, that's not like is it prom?
[38:29] Mia: It's not no, it's not prom.
[38:31] Andrew: It's before prom.
[38:32] Mia: It's like thinking like almost like this, because like in season one, she went to um the doctor's office for what was happening with her voice.
[38:41] Andrew: Who knows?
[38:43] Mia: Her nose.
[38:43] Andrew: Yes.

[38:59] Mia: I feel like it could come out of a fence.
[39:01] Andrew: It could, honestly.
[39:03] Mia: Wait.
[39:04] Andrew: What did Bert say Kurt wanted for his eighth birthday?
[39:11] Mia: Oh, this was something gay as shit, and I don't remember what it was.
[39:15] Andrew: It is something absolutely gay as shit.
[39:17] Mia: I think it's it's one of the most hilarious jokes that Glee has ever written.
[39:22] Andrew: It's not a sewing kit.
[39:23] Mia: It was like it was like a pair.
[39:25] Andrew: I I want to say it was like a clothing on, like a pair of high heels or something like that.
[39:29] Mia: A pair of sensible heels.
[39:32] Andrew: Nice.
[39:33] Mia: That's good.
[39:35] Andrew: Um, wait, I'm I feel like just like one more.

[39:38] Andrew: Um god.
[39:40] Mia: Um what Andrew Lloyd Weber musicals are featured on Glee?
[39:44] Andrew: Like which ones did they do or which ones did they have songs from?
[39:47] Mia: Because that's I think songs from.
[39:49] Andrew: They did songs from Phantom.
[39:51] Mia: They did songs from Cats.
[39:52] Andrew: I don't know what else Andrew Lloyd Weber did.
[39:54] Mia: Bad Cinderella.
[39:55] Andrew: Bad Cinderella.
[39:57] Mia: Yeah, cats Cats and Phantom are the only ones that are coming to mind for me as well.
[40:01] Andrew: I don't know any other Andrew Lloyd Weber.
[40:03] Mia: Exactly.
[40:03] Andrew: I'm like, I started out very strong that I don't know what else he did.
[40:06] Mia: Sorry, Dandrew Lloyd Webber.
[40:07] Andrew: Wait, what phantom songs are in Glee?
[40:10] Mia: I don't know Phantom at all.
[40:11] Andrew: They did music of the night.
[40:14] Mia: Okay.
[40:15] Andrew: Nothing.
[40:16] Mia: I don't know any other songs of phantom.
[40:17] Andrew: I just like I just know music of the night.
[40:19] Mia: Yeah.
[40:20] Andrew: Um okay I think I saw a question earlier.
[40:26] Mia: Who's who's left-handed?
[40:32] Andrew: Wait, Mr. Shu. I mean, they make a note of it in the series. It's Sam. Oh. It's annoying. Um, anyway, Mia, beyond "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty," what are we manifesting that we pull in tonight's episode of Gleek of the Week feature?
[40:52] Mia: I was like looking at because I was going through the Glack and seeing what hot takes I had about what's already been pulled, and then I was looking at what hasn't been pulled, and I couldn't believe that "Somewhere Only We Know" had not been pulled yet. That song was like, like unlock something in my brain. Like that was a formative experience for me.
[41:08] Andrew: It's huge.
[41:08] Mia: Listening to that one, the Glee version of that one. Oh gosh. There were some other ones that I had strong thoughts on. Let's take a scroll. "Marry You." I was a big "Marry You" fan. "Loser" by Beck from the first season. I was, I'm like, I was going back and I was like, I guess I haven't done a full rewatch in a while. And so I was like, they fucking did "Celebrity Skin" by Hole. Like some of the stuff they did, I was like, I cannot believe that. Season five "Valerie," like hot take. I like season five "Valerie" more than season two, season one, season two.
[41:46] Allison: Wait, I feel like I want to pull that tonight because we disagree on that.
[41:50] Mia: I'm a big, I'm a, oh my god. I hope "Gangnam Style" gets pulled so I can vote against it.
[41:55] Andrew: Okay.
[41:56] Mia: Like they were like, let's finally, let's finally have a solo. Let's finally give Tina a solo. And like, yeah, like yeah, Jenna Ushkowitz is Korean. Let's give her the fucking "Gangnam Style." Baby girl does not speak Korean.
[42:07] Allison: Yeah.
[42:07] Mia: I was like, mm-mm mm-mm. No. Um, okay. I hope to god we don't pull "Let's Have a Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time." I would, that would be sitting for the time, you know.
[42:18] Andrew: What, on Thanksgiving season.
[42:21] Mia: Thanksgiving season. I hope we pull "Dream a Little Dream." I am a big Cass Elliott fan. I'm big Mamas and Papas fan, and I think Artie did that justice. I've listened to the Glee version of that almost as many times as I've listened to Cass Elliott's version of that.
[42:34] Allison: Okay.
[42:34] Mia: Okay.
[42:35] Andrew: I would agree. I think it's an underrated Glee Cast version by Glee Cast.
[42:40] Mia: Exactly.
[42:41] Andrew: All right. Um, this the first song. I have it. Um, it is related to the trivia questions we were just talking about.
[42:49] Mia: Oh, can you give me permission to share my screen, please, sir?
[42:52] Andrew: Yeah, absolutely.
[42:54] Mia: Thanks. Hey.
[42:55] Allison: Hey.
[42:56] Mia: Oh.
[42:59] Andrew: Alright. There we go.
[43:00] Mia: Oh.
[43:03] Allison: Oh god.
[43:06] ♪ Musical number: "Memory" — performed by Kurt and June Squibb ♪
[45:47] Allison: Okay. Wait. Okay. No. Let's start with Mia. I don't even want to give any negative feelings about this. Yeah. Or positive. Who the heck knows what you're gonna say? Mia, what do you think?
[45:59] Mia: I like low key forgot about this whole plot. Like that he fucking was Peter Pan at the old folks' home production of that musical. And what was that? Like June Squibb. And like I always forget about all of these like guest stars. All I can think of when I hear the song is like when they did it in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," and I don't think anyone can top that performance in the, in the wait a minute. Like they did it in the talent show in the second "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" movie, and that's like all I can ever think of when I hear the song, including like the actual like one from Cats.
[46:28] Allison: Wait, how about Miranda Cosgrove's version in "School of Rock"?
[46:31] Mia: Oh my god, you're I've only ever seen "School of Rock" like once. Yeah. I need to, I need to go back and do a rewatch, I think.
[46:37] Allison: You got to.
[46:38] Mia: "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is just like too much of a cultural imprint on me. I think it's all it's always you know right there. Um, I think they did June dirty with the mixing because she, she, she low key ate Kurt up in that, I think. Um, I, I have issues, I feel like I have issues as someone who's like done a little meeting of music productions of I have issues with like all of the mixing and like all of the Glee Cast songs by Glee Cast. Um, but that one especially. I'm like, they could have let her shine a little more. Like Kurt, Kurt has the solos. We know Kurt can sing, we know Kurt has a like lovely soprano voice, but I'm like, I wanted to hear June Squibb a little more, personally.
[47:13] Allison: Wait, that's so interesting that you say this is so mean. But do you think that June Squibb sounds good here?
[47:19] Mia: Maybe it's just something that I like a little more, but I sometimes I get too sick of hearing Kurt all the time.
[47:24] Allison: Sure.
[47:24] Mia: Okay.
[47:25] Allison: A lot of people are saying that on the screen. I feel like every Kurt, every cover I either love it or I hate it. And this one just doesn't do it for me. I feel like it's too on the nose. Like you hear the song, you're like, yeah, that's a Kurt song.
[47:38] Mia: Yeah.
[47:39] Allison: Yeah.
[47:39] Mia: Mm-hmm.
[47:41] Andrew: Um, you're gonna go real negative. I can already sense.
[47:45] Allison: Yeah, I'm about to rip this to shreds. Um, I think this is a really wonderful song. Um, not the Glee Cast version. Um, I do reach for the Jennifer Hudson version from the 2019 film Cats. Um, she did eat it up. And like I know that people are gonna be like, oh my god, Cats was the worst movie ever made, and everything. Listen to the MP3 of Jennifer Hudson singing this song. You will not regret it. She leaves no shreds. Um, this entire episode for me, however, um, "Old Dog's New Tricks," which was written by Chris Colfer. Unfortunately, and I think this performance really highlights the fact that this feels like fan fiction that was filmed, and it does not feel like an authentic episode of Glee where they would just naturally go to a retirement home and sing "Memory" and do a stage production of Peter Pan because the Peter Pan died that they had initially casted.
Um, I don't know. There's something that just like even though Glee is so zany and off the wall, it does not feel natural to be doing this. I don't know. Is this the last song from this episode that we have to pull? I think it might be.
[49:05] Mia: I mean I would I would be surprised if it isn't.
[49:08] Allison: Yeah.
[49:09] Mia: We pulled a lot. There's a lot of songs in that episode.
[49:12] Andrew: Yeah. Um, and also I think it's interesting to just um make reference to the fact that this episode is mostly about dogs and they sing a song from Cats. All I'll say.
[49:25] Allison: Interesting. Interesting. Um, I hate Cats with a fiery burning passion. There's not a song on it that I will reach for. Um, specifically this one. This song does I the J HUD of it all. Good. Very, very good.
[49:47] Mia: Wait, can I ask relationship with Cats?
[49:51] Allison: Um, I saw Cats at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis when I was young, when I was a preteen. It was one of the first shows that my mom and I ever saw together, and we famously left it intermission because it was so fucking god-awful. Um, there's just something about I don't I just don't like it. It's the it's about cats and people portraying cats. And I'm like, there's no like Suzucole I can take. Cats that's that's interesting.
[50:25] Mia: Yeah, I've never like wanted to watch Cats because the "Memory" is the only song. Like gun to my head, if you asked me to name another song from Cats, I'd be dead. I mean, um, yeah. But I've never wanted to watch the musical because I'm such a fan of the source material because it's based on T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats," which is a cute little like whimsical, like children's E quirky book that I enjoy because I just like T.S. Eliot's weirdness. And I feel like it's like fundamentally kind of weird to make a musical based on such like short source material. Like the same thing with like the Hobbit movies. Like you didn't need to make three Hobbit movies. It's a hundred page book. Like you didn't that's how I feel about Cats.
[51:04] Allison: Yeah, Cats really does nothing for me. So when but this song of course they had to do it on Glee, like duh. Um it's very much a like it's like popular. Like you were getting to the end of the series and we haven't done "Memory." We have to do it on this memory and it's like even with a terrible context still need to hear it. We'd still need to hear it and of course like to your point Mia like of course it is a Kurt song. This entire episode I think it's the context surrounding the entire show as a whole that I can't not think about for this episode.
[51:47] Mia: Yeah. Um this h episode really does nothing for me. Sorry Chris Colfer.
[51:53] Allison: That's so real though. I hope I get to experience something like this in real life though because I'm going like there's a theater company in Minneapolis uh Theater 55 that's like you know theater for older adults like 55 and over and they're doing a production of Rent this winter or so I'm going to see that. And I so I really hope I get to experience something like this episode of Glee. Or maybe I don't see maybe I don't if it's a more kind of it's it's kind of a more mid episode of Glee.
[52:16] Andrew: Yeah I hope I hope you get a little something better out of this I always like that a little bit I always like to have a little bit of Glee in my day-to-day life. I have I have a story about Glee in my day-to-day life that I'll tell you later that is not best served right now.
[52:29] Allison: Wait but no tell it now.
[52:31] Mia: I'm curious.
[52:32] Andrew: I think you should tell it.
[52:33] Allison: I just feel like it I I don't want to interrupt the Glacket procedure.
[52:35] Mia: No, no, no, go ahead.
[52:36] Andrew: No, please. I like I just feel like Glee has in improperly prepared me for the real world. And not in the way that like a lot of people are like, I thought there was gonna be more singing in this thing, or like Glee made me do acapella. Like that's on you. If you chose to do a cappella card because of Glee, like that's on you. I went to a football game recently.
[52:55] Allison: Okay.
[52:56] Andrew: And my entire understanding of the mechanics and rules of football comes from what they covered in B plots in the first season of Glee. So I'm sitting there with like a sportsman. I went with like a sports guy. And I'm sitting there and I was like, who's the kicker? When are they doing "Single Ladies?" And I'm just like not understanding how football like actually works. And who was like explaining it to me in so many words, and I'm just like, can you sing it? Like I was like, I'm just not following this without the the Glee. Like, where's the drama? I was like, so like I was like, why aren't any of them just gonna like fight each other? Like why what I just "Thriller/Heads Will Roll."
[53:32] Mia: Yeah.
[53:33] Andrew: Yeah, exactly. I was like, when are they doing the Michael Jackson Yeah Yeah Yeahs mashup? I was like respectfully, and I don't know. I just feel like Glee like lied to me and led me to believe that like football games are gonna be more interesting. And I don't know, I just felt kind of betrayed by that.
[53:47] Allison: Yeah, all you do is you sit there and you look at him run around and then you leave.
[53:51] Andrew: I know. I I literally left and I was like, this was nothing like Glee.
[53:56] Mia: Wow, like that was... I was like, I was like, aren't any of them gonna wear a funny little costume, you know? Like in like in the thriller, yeah, uh in the thriller heads over. I was like, aren't they gonna wear like funny little outfits? Because it was the senior night. I was like, none of them are in my outfits, they're not gonna do a little dance. Like it's, I was like this, it's just irresponsible. Irresponsible show tune, show tune. Show tune. Exactly.
[54:22] Andrew: Um, against memory. We'll see. This one song is really... oh, wait. I want that shit. Let's see, I got it. Okay, season four, if you have the stuff to back it up. Okay, before I was born late one night, my papa said everything's all right, but talk to paint the mama laid down with a sound about some all around 'cause the baby must talk about Mama gave bath to her hand. I could barely well put a milk with cows three. I pushed the plow, gentlemen, who I'll chop and food on move my legs and the song and dancing while I gathered eggs. The town full clapped, I was only five out dance them all. He was on hand, break it up to him, born to hit a baby, can you go how low can you go?
[54:28] Mia: How low can you go? How low can you go? How low can you go? Higher! Higher! Higher! And higher hand job, baby! Oh, can you hand jab, baby? Can you hand jab, baby? Can you hand jive? Oh, can you hand jab, baby? Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, yeah. Oh yeah! I love this.
[56:57] Andrew: Audio medium.
[56:59] Mia: Audio medium, I just hand jived. Wow, I love that. Oh, that's so cute. Um, Mia, born to hand jive, Gleekass version by Glee Cast. What are your immediate thoughts?
[57:09] Mia: My immediate... I was just thinking about Glee earlier today, just how messy that whole storyline was. And this like reminded me of like everything that was messy about that storyline. And I just think it's such like, it's first of all, it's so fun. So fun. Like one of the more memorable Glee songs to me. I just think it's a good time.
[57:28] Andrew: Yeah, I would agree. But it's such an odd song to enact all this drama during.
[57:35] Mia: Yeah. I feel like there are so many more like fitting songs that could be the vessel for this like love pentagon they have going on.
[57:43] Andrew: Right.
[57:45] Mia: But it's fun. I feel like it's almost like synonymous with um Out Here on My Own from season three when they're auditioning for West Side Story, where it's like, it's like they're trying to elicit a similar response of like, okay, people are fighting over the roles, but like Out Here on My Own effectively did it better.
[58:13] Andrew: I don't know, because it was more... it was just like I just felt like it's like a different series where it's like Out Here on My Own, it's like okay, drama, um, you know, Rachel sings it, Mercedes sings it, but with this, it's like it almost feels like I'm watching a cartoon.
[58:29] Mia: And what I was thinking about the entire time I was watching this was that this entire episode, and I brought this up before, Rolly You were Born to Play, um, does not do much for me, mostly because it comes back from hiatus after the breakup, and this episode does not... it does feel like a cartoon, um, and it's like okay, we waited all this time for an episode to come back, and you're not really addressing most of what you talked about in the last episode, and we are like forced to watch Marley, Jake, Ryder, Kitty. Um, and I just, I don't know. I still really like this song, and it's still getting my vote, but I'm just like that's what's in my mind.
[59:09] Andrew: Yeah, I would... I that makes sense to me. Um I like this song. I think I like the drama of it because I see what you're saying about Out Here on My Own. I don't even see it as them fighting for Danizuko. I see them fighting for Marley. Because I feel like Kitty wasn't even consequential to this love pentagon. Um, it's all about Marley. So that's what I liked about it. I really like um Kitty doing a cartwheel with Ryder holding her, and then Ryder doing a cartwheel with Kitty holding him.
[59:48] Mia: Oh my god.
[59:50] Andrew: Muscle woman. Holy cow, it was awesome.
[59:53] Mia: Yes. Um, and then the like you can barely tell, but Joe is in this scene.
[59:58] Andrew: Yeah.
[59:59] Mia: Joe, sugar.
[1:00:01] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:00:01] Mia: Two little like seconds, and I'm like, whoa!
[1:00:04] Andrew: Whoa!
[1:00:04] Mia: Oh, it's like a jump scare.
[1:00:06] Andrew: Sure.
[1:00:07] Mia: Um, and then uh I just like this song because we did have 50s day when I was in elementary school, and my mom made me a uh poodle skirt to wear, and I wore it to school, and I was one of three girls that wore a poodle skirt um that took the took shit serious, and I did learn the hand jive.
[1:00:30] Andrew: Um, so you were prepared for this one.
[1:00:33] Mia: I was ready. We were ready. Uh huh. I was ready. Um I I I don't know. I'm learning that I think the whole point of this Glackett is not only to realize that what's this is the best song on Glee. Um, it's for Allison to realize that she really likes season four.
[1:00:51] Andrew: And um, oh um, and I I like I like this song and Glee in general, maybe.
[1:01:03] Mia: Oh, I'll do you one further. I like Glee in general.
[1:01:09] Andrew: No way.
[1:01:09] Mia: No way.
[1:01:10] Andrew: No way.
[1:01:11] Mia: Wow.
[1:01:14] Andrew: 86 episodes deep.
[1:01:15] Mia: I feel like this is maybe episode 86. I don't know.
[1:01:18] Andrew: Um, 86 episodes deep. I'll come out of the closet and say I do like this series.
[1:01:24] Mia: Speak your truth, King.
[1:01:25] Andrew: Thank you.
[1:01:26] Mia: Thank you, Mia. Um, when it comes down to it, memory versus born to hand jive. Are we considering born to hand jive a show tune?
[1:01:35] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:01:35] Mia: Okay. Show tune versus show tune. Wait, so you did not do memory when you um were a child? Like you did not go in um to school and have like cats day?
[1:01:45] Andrew: No, I did not dress up for cats day in a full outfit and learn uh the jellico cat dance. I did not.
[1:01:51] Mia: Oh, okay.
[1:01:52] Andrew: Okay.
[1:01:53] Mia: Interesting. I guess I'm alone in that.
[1:01:56] Andrew: Um.
[1:01:59] Mia: Um, I did have grandparents' day when we all like had to do the hokey pokey together.
[1:02:03] Andrew: Which is kind of cute.
[1:02:05] Mia: Um, that's so cute. Um, okay, wait. Memory versus born to hand jive.
[1:02:09] Andrew: Born to hand jive.
[1:02:13] Mia: Born to hand jive.
[1:02:14] Andrew: Yeah, I was born to hand jive.
[1:02:16] Mia: I was born to hand jive, and I will say it on the screen podcast. Memory, you're nothing but that.
[1:02:25] Andrew: Are there any... there's no more... I mean, gun to the head, I can't even think of another cat song.
[1:02:30] Mia: So exactly.
[1:02:31] Andrew: I was about to say, are there any more cat songs on this hit series Glee?
[1:02:35] Mia: But that isn't so anymore.
[1:02:36] Andrew: No.
[1:02:38] Mia: Um, season four.
[1:02:47] Andrew: That's all I'm gonna say. And I'm gonna see if we can tell what it is. If Mia can tell what it is.
[1:02:54] Mia: Oh boy.
[1:02:55] Andrew: Um.
[1:02:57] Mia: Do you know what it is?
[1:03:00] Andrew: I do.
[1:03:03] Mia: Season four.
[1:03:05] Andrew: We're out in the courtyard.
[1:03:07] Mia: With prior Gleek of the Week, Derek Nelson.
[1:03:09] Andrew: Derek Nelson.
[1:03:11] Mia: I'm remembering this episode like very... it's not gonna come through.
[1:03:17] Andrew: Like Dar, I would have said white Christmas had you not already done White Christmas.
[1:03:21] Mia: There is freedom without try to catch the day you ginna paper cut. There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost, but you'll never see the end of the road while you're traveling with me.
[1:03:41] Andrew: Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over.
[1:03:41] Mia: Hey now, hey now, when the world comes in, they come, they come to build a war between us. We know they won't win.
[1:03:41] Andrew: Now I'm told with my car, there's a hole in the roof. My possessions are causing me suspicion, but there's no proof in the paper today's of war and of waste. But you turn right over to the TV page.
[1:05:36] Mia: Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's overhead.
[1:05:36] Andrew: Hey now, when the world comes in, they come, they come to build a wall between us. We know they won't win. Only shadows ahead barely clearing the roof.
[1:05:36] Mia: Gets to know the feeling of liberation.
[1:05:36] Andrew: Oh my god, what happened?
[1:05:36] Mia: I got my Nyada letter.
[1:05:36] Andrew: And now, hey now.
[1:05:36] Mia: Got it.
[1:05:36] Andrew: Got it!
[1:05:38] Mia: Hey now, hey now.
[1:05:38] Andrew: Don't dream it's over.
[1:05:47] Mia: I feel good.
[1:05:49] Andrew: In my heart.
[1:05:51] Mia: My soul.
[1:05:52] Andrew: And everything feels right with the world.
[1:05:54] Mia: That is some believable snow right there.
[1:05:56] Andrew: Really? I was gonna ask. Is it that is some believable snow?
[1:06:00] Mia: Much more than um in your eyes.
[1:06:00] Andrew: In your eyes.
[1:06:07] Mia: So terrible snow.
[1:06:07] Andrew: This is believable snow at the high school.
[1:06:13] Mia: Yeah.
[1:06:14] Andrew: I was gonna ask. I'm glad that it's been approved by a snow expert.
[1:06:18] Mia: That's right, because you're from like California or something. Are you, you're in California, Andrew?
[1:06:22] Andrew: No, I'm in New York.
[1:06:24] Mia: But I've famously never snows.
[1:06:27] Andrew: It never snows here. Sunny every day.
[1:06:30] Mia: Um, but um you all, you both get snow much more than we do.
[1:06:37] Andrew: I mean, you had your first snow today.
[1:06:39] Mia: Today.
[1:06:40] Andrew: Yeah. Our first snow that stuck.
[1:06:42] Mia: Yes.
[1:06:42] Andrew: Yeah, I think it's irresponsible that they there wasn't more snow in Glee. Like they're in Ohio. Like there definitely should have been a lot more snow than there was in Glee.
[1:06:53] Mia: It's true. Completely agree. Completely agree, and I'm confused and I'm shocked and I'm angry.
[1:06:58] Andrew: Um, I love this song. I am a don't dream it's overhead. This is season four in its bag. This is the whole Glee clip coming together. This is all the little couples coming in from the side. The outfits are good, the snow is good, the fin of it all is good. Finn singing with Marley didn't know that's what I wanted. I love this song, and it reminds me of Miley Cyrus singing this on an inflatable unicorn with Ariana Grande.
[1:07:29] Mia: That is also a good version of this song. This is just a good song.
[1:07:32] Andrew: Really?
[1:07:34] Mia: Wait.
[1:07:36] Mia: I like I like the song itself a lot. Like, I'm I'm just a big fan of the original Crowded House. Um but I feel like it's done well. I feel like you know, the harmonies are there. I feel like you're like, oh, the fan of it all. I feel like this brings up for me that Finn had no fucking boundaries when he was the coach of that Glee Club. Like Did Will Schuster? Okay, this is this is real, but like Finn, like I guess he thinks it's like more to go because he's like close in age, so he just like hangs out, but like I never thought about it much until I like I'm I'm a coach of things now. Like I coached the Quiz Bowl team out of high school here, and like I'm only like two or three years older than some of these kids, but I would not be hanging out with my kids in the courtyard, like the church courtyard, like in the dark.
I would not be like, I was like, that's so odd. I was like, that's so weird to me. And then the little ending bit with like Rachel and Kurt, and like, yes, you got into it, it's cute. But then that just makes me angry thinking about how she got insigniata at first and he didn't. Because Kurt ate her up in the audition. Like, I'm still so mad that not the boy next door did not make it past the first. Like, that's my favorite cola. That's my favorite Kurt solo.
[1:08:43] Andrew: Really?
[1:08:46] Mia: And that did not make it out of the first round. Like, Kurt should have gotten in and she should not have gotten in. Miss Carmen Tibeto should not have given her a second.
[1:08:54] Andrew: Well, Carmen Tibeto was getting death threats to her and her entire family from one Miss Rachel Barbara Barry. And so she was like, I'm going to let this girl into the school for the sake of me and my life, my loved ones.
[1:09:08] Mia: I simply just would have put out a hit on Rachel Barry instead. I simply would not have, I simply would not have made any concessions. I simply would have just because her and Tina showed up to that audition and they were like, listen, Carmen. I'm doing a uh audio medium. It's a it's a finger gun. Finger gun. Rachel and real pistol. I I have a real goddamn shotgun in my hand right now. And um, and they're like, listen, Carmen Tibuto, you're gonna go to Chicago and you're gonna listen to Rachel sing it's all coming back to me now at Nationals, whether you like it or not. And then Carmen was shaking in her goddamn boots and turban, and she still went, she went to the city. And I think that's literally like kind of hate crimey of them. Like, that's I feel like that's a little racially motivated. I was like, I was like, I was a little messy of Rachel and Tina. Do you do you think that Carmen Tibetot was hate crimed on No?
[1:10:02] Andrew: I'm not even opening up this conversation.
[1:10:05] Mia: Um, because I've never heard that take before, but I actually don't even want to hear it out. Um this song, for whatever reason, up until the episode's airing, up until now, has not done much for me. And I think that this is just the separation between my culture as Andrew McGuire, um against your culture as Allison Dodge, and this makes sense for it to be a your culture, and that that's not a hit on your culture at all.
[1:10:35] Allison: No, I think it's a good song. This just makes sense, it just makes sense, and it's like I'm I'm glad that we have different opinions on this.
[1:10:42] Mia: Um, me too. I I will say, and oh god, I'm not proud to admit this, but watching this um live as I guess what, a 16 17 year old, and being like already told by Glee that relationships like Shelby and Puck and Puck and April Rhodes, like they were all okay. And I was like, wait, they should explore Finn and Marley. No, no, and I'm glad. I understand that now I'm an older person, and I I understand how wrong it is, right? But a way worse relationship has already happened at that point, Shelby and Puck. And so I'm like, okay, Finn and Marley, I want to see it through. And I'm like, they actually are cute together. I'm not that this is not a current Andrew opinion.
[1:11:34] Andrew: I will say, that's fine.
[1:11:36] Mia: That's fine. I know it it is a very awkward scene. I think they're very awkward with each other before right before they sing this song. Um uh Ryder in this scene really gives me the ick.
[1:11:52] Andrew: Wait, why?
[1:11:53] Mia: I think I don't know. Just the way he's like holding his body and the like skull cap he's got on. I'm like, no, you look like some guy I'm gonna see at a bar that is gonna say something awkward and then walk away. Weird.
[1:12:11] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:12:12] Mia: Um, there you said that the entire New Directions was there, but there is actually one New Directions member that is not there.
[1:12:20] Andrew: Unique.
[1:12:21] Mia: Unique was there.
[1:12:24] Andrew: Wait, okay. Let me go through. Marley, Ryder, Jake are all there. Brittany, Sam, Blaine, Tina, Artie Kitty, Unique.
[1:12:34] Mia: You should have 11.
[1:12:36] Andrew: Okay, wait, wait. Okay, okay, okay. Marley, Kitty, Jake, Ryder, Joe, unique, Sam Britney, Blaine, Tina.
[1:12:49] Mia: Sugar.
[1:12:50] Andrew: Sugar is not there.
[1:12:52] Mia: Sugar's not there. I mean, I don't think anybody noticed. Because nobody cares about sugar, and it makes me sad.
[1:12:59] Andrew: And it does make me sad that nobody cares about sugar.
[1:13:01] Mia: It makes me so sad. This is the episode. She's so sweet, she's gonna melt in the snow.
[1:13:05] Andrew: Oh my god, I love that.
[1:13:07] Mia: Um, oh, that's so cute. Um, okay, yeah, this has bothered me. I'm so sorry to go on another tangent, but um, this has bothered me for so long that in the episode prior, they go to sectionals, they sing Gangnam Style, Marley faints.
[1:13:23] Andrew: Yep.
[1:13:24] Mia: The episode following this episode where they sang this song immediately picks up immediately after Gangnam Style. And all the new directions are there except for sugar. So I'm supposed to assume me, the beautiful girl watching this show, that like everybody else was like, oh my god, let's go help Marley, except for Sugar. That was like, fuck this. That was the final straw. I'm leaving. I'm done. That's that's it.
[1:13:57] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:13:57] Mia: But then she does come back like two episodes later. So I choose to believe she canonically just like got distracted by like a butterfly or something, and that's why she's not there. I choose to believe it wasn't Melissa.
[1:14:05] Andrew: Okay.
[1:14:08] Mia: I'm willing to believe that's true.
[1:14:10] Andrew: Okay.
[1:14:11] Mia: Um okay. Again, Stone Dream, it's over. Anybody else want to say anything else about this song?
[1:14:19] Andrew: I love it. It's very good. I love season four. I have, I believe this is our final song that we have to pull from the pilot episode of Glee.
[1:14:34] Mia: Oh.
[1:14:35] Andrew: It is iconic.
[1:14:38] Mia: Oh yeah.
[1:14:40] Andrew: Wow. This is a hard competition.
[1:14:48] Mia: They're trying to make me go rehab.
[1:14:50] Andrew: Lesson.
[1:14:51] Mia: No, no, no.
[1:14:54] Andrew: Yes, I'm in that way I come back.
[1:14:57] Mia: No, no, no.
[1:15:00] Andrew: I ain't got the time.
[1:15:02] Mia: And if my dad is making some time.
[1:15:05] Andrew: We try to make it go rehab.
[1:15:12] Mia: I had to be at home with Bay Quiz.
[1:15:18] Andrew: I've got seven toothpaste.
[1:15:23] Mia: This is nothing but then you can teach me.
[1:16:12] Andrew: So iconic. And I would say like for what? But like, no, it's the pilot episode of Glee. It needs to be that iconic. It needs to be.
[1:16:20] Mia: Andrew, what are you thinking about Rehab Glee Cast version by Glee Cast? Where were you when you saw this for the first time?
[1:16:26] Andrew: I was like, I was in my living room. I want to say I was making with my little brother watch it with me. Um this might be my favorite song from the pilot. Like, I've always been a big boat vocal adrenaline fan. I do think it's it's a little disappointing. Because obviously, you know, pilot Jesse St. James, not really a character yet, but I would have loved to see some Jesse St. James in there. I am a Jesse St. James groupie.
[1:16:50] Mia: I'm a Jonathan Bob groupie.
[1:16:55] Andrew: Um but this is just one of my favorites. Like I love the original song. I love what they do with it. Like the theatric, like it really just cements like what you're supposed to know about vocal adrenaline from the beginning.

[1:39:43] Mia: Like I did not need to hear Darren Krest rapping tonight.
[1:39:45] Andrew: Like that disrupted my personal like peace and like safe space for the night.
[1:39:50] Mia: Yeah, I don'd have to like meditate to set myself right after this.
[1:39:53] Andrew: Oh, okay.
[1:39:55] Mia: Well, I have all the winners this week.
[1:39:57] Andrew: I'm born to Hand Jive, Rehab, and Closer.
[1:40:02] Mia: Wow.
[1:40:03] Andrew: Wow.
[1:40:04] Mia: Really crazy cuckoo bananas group of songs.
[1:40:07] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:40:08] Mia: Um, Mia, to wrap up the episode.
[1:40:12] Andrew: We ask our guests the same exact question.
[1:40:15] Mia: What if Glee was still on in 2022?
[1:40:19] Mia: What are they singing?
[1:40:21] Mia: I remember I I brought this up to you at when we were training for trivia.
[1:40:26] Mia: Um, I think Kurt would have bodied So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings by Caroline Polichek.
[1:40:32] Andrew: Okay.
[1:40:32] Mia: Like you listen to that song and tell me that does not sound like Kurt.
[1:40:37] Andrew: It sounds like Kurt.
[1:40:38] Mia: Every person I've told that to, they're like, I can't unhear it now.
[1:40:40] Andrew: Uh-huh.
[1:40:41] Mia: So they're singing Caroline Polichek.
[1:40:43] Mia: I think obviously, unfortunately, they're doing Hamilton.
[1:40:48] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:40:49] Mia: Yes.
[1:40:49] Andrew: Lynn Lynn and Matthew are friends.
[1:40:51] Mia: I feel like we would have gotten a Lynn Minimal into King.
[1:40:53] Andrew: But how are they doing it?
[1:40:54] Mia: Are they doing it respectfully or otherwise?
[1:40:56] Andrew: Otherwise.
[1:40:59] Mia: There's not enough people colored up for them to be doing it respectfully.
[1:41:02] Andrew: Okay.
[1:41:02] Mia: Elaborate.
[1:41:03] Mia: How are they doing it disrespectfully?
[1:41:09] Andrew: Like, like I'm talking like Rachel somehow wants to be Hamilton.
[1:41:14] Mia: Oh.
[1:41:15] Andrew: Or they're rapping.
[1:41:16] Mia: Just more white men.
[1:41:17] Andrew: It's just more white people rapping.
[1:41:19] Mia: Exactly.
[1:41:19] Andrew: Like Rachel, like, you know, it's obviously they're graduated.
[1:41:22] Mia: Like Rachel comes back and she's like, no, I just relate to this.
[1:41:24] Andrew: Like, or like, you know, see season one, Rachel in the black student union, remember?
[1:41:28] Mia: Right.
[1:41:29] Andrew: Yep.
[1:41:30] Mia: She was she was like, I deserve this.
[1:41:31] Andrew: I've been an ally for so long.
[1:41:32] Mia: Like I could see, unfortunately, my shot being a Rollo.
[1:41:37] Andrew: Mm-hmm.
[1:41:38] Mia: Exactly.
[1:41:39] Andrew: Oh, that kind of makes me sick.
[1:41:40] Mia: Makes me sick, but it makes sense.
[1:41:41] Andrew: What else are they doing?
[1:41:43] Mia: In 2022.
[1:41:44] Andrew: In 2022.
[1:41:46] Mia: I don't.
[1:41:47] Andrew: Obviously, they're doing some Olivia Rodrigo.
[1:41:49] Mia: Like you're telling me like Rachel's not doing good for you after she and Vin break up for the however many.
[1:41:55] Andrew: Wait, but who's we we've gotten um an array of different opinions on Driver's License.
[1:41:59] Mia: Who do you think is singing Driver's license?
[1:42:01] Mia: I feel like driver's license, I don't know why.
[1:42:04] Mia: I just feel like it's a Marley.
[1:42:05] Andrew: I feel like it's Marley.
[1:42:07] Mia: That's what I said.
[1:42:07] Andrew: Yes.
[1:42:09] Mia: Oh my god.
[1:42:09] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:42:09] Mia: It's giving uh.
[1:42:12] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:42:13] Mia: I've listened, I've listened to Driver's License like exactly once in my life, I think all the way through.
[1:42:19] Andrew: But wait.
[1:42:20] Mia: Wow.
[1:42:21] Andrew: It was my most listened to song of 2020.
[1:42:23] Mia: I heard it like I've never listened to that album.
[1:42:25] Andrew: Like I heard it on the radio once.
[1:42:27] Mia: Like, because there's this like ramen place in DC that I love, and whenever I go there, I just feel like they're always playing Olivia Rodrigo.
[1:42:33] Andrew: Wait, so you've only heard it once?
[1:42:36] Mia: I like good for you a lot, but I don't think I've heard any other song on that album.
[1:42:40] Andrew: BFF more than once.
[1:42:42] Mia: Please.
[1:42:44] Andrew: I don't believe you.
[1:42:45] Mia: Talking about Caroline Polichek, but Olivia Rodrigo driver's license.
[1:42:48] Andrew: You're like, okay.
[1:42:50] Mia: Like I've I've heard I've heard it multiple times, but I've only heard it all the way through.
[1:42:54] Andrew: Oh, yeah.
[1:42:56] Mia: I've heard clips of it tons of times.
[1:42:58] Andrew: TikTok, people playing it, blah, blah, blah, etc.
[1:43:02] Mia: etc.
[1:43:03] Andrew: Mm-hmm.
[1:43:04] Mia: Yeah, all this good stuff.
[1:43:05] Andrew: Okay.
[1:43:05] Mia: Um, what else do I feel like?
[1:43:08] Mia: I feel like none of the music I listen to, I'm like, ah, yes, you know, Glee, they're gonna be doing some bright eyes on Glee, you know.
[1:43:13] Andrew: I feel like I could you know what I would have loved to see if Glee were still having a 2020?
[1:43:18] Mia: But like even with like season six past, I would have loved to hear Rodrigue sing some bulk peck.
[1:43:24] Andrew: They're like a that is they're like a white person funk band, essentially.
[1:43:28] Mia: Okay, but they have Antoine Stanley, who's this really great musician from Detroit, like singing on some of their songs.
[1:43:34] Andrew: Like this, I'm gonna send you guys the song in the chat so you can maybe listen later if you want.
[1:43:38] Mia: Wait, I would have loved to hear Roderick sing Wait for the Moment by Wolfpeck.
[1:43:43] Andrew: Okay.
[1:43:43] Mia: I think it would have been a cultural reset.
[1:43:45] Andrew: Like I just I loved his voice.
[1:43:47] Mia: I think there was low, there was some star power in the later seasons.
[1:43:50] Andrew: See, the later season, like my my pick to go all the way in the glacket is a season six song, I think.
[1:43:56] Mia: Wait, what is that?
[1:43:58] Andrew: I think it's season six.
[1:43:59] Mia: It's Sue Sylvester's version of Bitch by Meredith Brooks.
[1:44:02] Andrew: Oh wait, all-time favorite.
[1:44:04] Mia: I think it's season six.
[1:44:07] Andrew: We pulled that in the camera Mitchell episode.
[1:44:09] Mia: I forgot.
[1:44:10] Andrew: Yes, it made it made it through.
[1:44:11] Mia: Oh, it is through.
[1:44:12] Andrew: It beat rock because it beat Rock Lobster.
[1:44:14] Mia: Rock Lobster.
[1:44:14] Andrew: Okay.
[1:44:15] Mia: Obviously, obviously.
[1:44:16] Andrew: But that's my pick to go all the way.
[1:44:17] Mia: Like that might be my like I was trying to think about it recently.
[1:44:20] Andrew: Like, what's my favorite Glee song?
[1:44:21] Mia: Like, there have been other ones that have been more like culturally relevant to me.
[1:44:24] Andrew: Like, but Sue Sylvester singing Bitch by Meredith Brooks.
[1:44:29] Mia: Like what a reset.
[1:44:31] Andrew: The moment.
[1:44:32] Mia: Wow.
[1:44:32] Andrew: She is the moment.
[1:44:34] Mia: She's a bit.
[1:44:35] Andrew: She's a mother.
[1:44:36] Mia: She's a child.
[1:44:36] Andrew: She's a exactly.
[1:44:39] Mia: Glee would have been doing You know Rachel Barry would have sung Still Into You by Paramour.
[1:44:45] Andrew: Yes.
[1:44:46] Mia: Yeah.
[1:44:47] Andrew: More Paramour.
[1:44:48] Mia: You know it would have happened.
[1:44:49] Andrew: Right.
[1:44:50] Mia: Yes.
[1:44:51] Andrew: Well.
[1:44:51] Mia: Absolutely.
[1:44:52] Andrew: Iconic.
[1:44:53] Mia: So many, so many things.
[1:44:54] Andrew: So many things could transpire in the Glee boot and it will happen, and it might be a Broadway musical, and we time will tell.
[1:45:01] Mia: Um I'd be there.
[1:45:03] Andrew: Until then, Mia.
[1:45:04] Mia: Where can all the glisteners find you on social Gledia?
[1:45:09] Andrew: If you're going to be able to do that?
[1:45:09] Mia: Social Gleadia, of course.
[1:45:11] Mia: Yeah, I am on Instagram and Twitter at like at not Mia MC, because my first name starts with an MC, just like Andrew's.
[1:45:22] Andrew: Um if you would like to see me in my glee era, I do a cappella arrangements, which you can find at Mia McGill.com.

[1:45:43] Mia: My gleams, if you will.
[1:45:44] Andrew: I still can't believe that I did so poorly at Jepper Glee.
[1:45:48] Mia: Like I just did not flopped on the trivia.
[1:45:51] Andrew: The glisteners came with the most hard-pressing questions of all time.
[1:45:55] Mia: Yeah, intense.
[1:45:57] Andrew: Um, we did ask for those questions specifically, and yet we are still still.
[1:46:02] Mia: We were shocked.
[1:46:02] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:46:03] Mia: We were shocked.
[1:46:04] Andrew: I flopped.
[1:46:05] Mia: I flopped.
[1:46:06] Andrew: But yeah, it's okay.
[1:46:07] Mia: All the all the fans can find me there on social media if they want to chastise me for my poor performance at trivia.
[1:46:14] Mia: Um also, Allison, this reminds me, I've been like slowly collecting a bunch of glee DVDs from the bookstore near my apartment because they like don't buy DVDs, but when people drop off books to sell, they're like, I don't want these DVDs back, they'll just sell them for like a dollar or two apiece outside.
[1:46:32] Andrew: Oh my god.
[1:46:32] Mia: And there's always glee DVDs for like a dollar on the bargain shelf there.
[1:46:36] Andrew: That's awesome.
[1:46:36] Mia: So I've been slowly amassing them, and I work at a movie theater where I can like screen things after hours.
[1:46:40] Andrew: Oh my god.
[1:46:40] Mia: So if you ever want to come watch some glee on the big screen with me, Allison, you hit me up.
[1:46:43] Andrew: I do want to do that.
[1:46:46] Mia: That sounds so fucking fun.
[1:46:48] Andrew: We could watch some glee on the big screen.
[1:46:49] Mia: So you hit me up about that.
[1:46:50] Andrew: That's where you personally can find me.
[1:46:54] Mia: That's so good.
[1:46:55] Andrew: Absolutely.
[1:46:56] Mia: I will be doing that.
[1:46:57] Andrew: That's awesome.
