[0:00] Andrew: Glee glee glee glee go for week.

[0:11] Hunter: The like how I can't do it.

[0:13] Bekah: Wait, is this you in the episode or is this just you and Chevy?

[0:16] Hunter: We can be this can be the episode.

[0:17] Bekah: Okay.

[0:18] Hunter: Um I tried explaining the bits we were doing in Disneyland.

[0:21] Bekah: The like, oh it's cute!

[0:26] Hunter: Oh yeah, okay.

[0:31] Bekah: The thing about last week when we were in Los Angeles was I think that we were so did we want to talk wait, we can talk about our time in Los Angeles.

[0:41] Hunter: Our time in LA.

[0:42] Bekah: Okay, the thing about our time in Los Angeles was that we were going there mostly as Gleeks.

[0:48] Hunter: Uh and uh we did we did go on the Paramount Tour.

[0:51] Bekah: We went to do the Yes.

[0:53] Hunter: And I would say um uh go do it, Gleeks.

[0:56] Bekah: Do the Paramount.

[0:58] Hunter: You will be changed.

[0:59] Bekah: So fun.

[1:00] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:00] Bekah: It is very fun.

[1:02] Hunter: I really like it.

[1:02] Bekah: And it's like it's the closest thing that we have to a glee museum, and it's iconic.

[1:08] Hunter: And uh be sure to tell your your tour guide.

[1:11] Bekah: Um, don't forget to tell your tour guide this.

[1:13] Hunter: Um they're watching glee.

[1:19] Bekah: Um please tell your tour guide that you are a fan of glee because I feel as though the tour guide um heard us when we were like glee.

[1:19] Hunter: Heard us when we were like glee.

[1:30] Bekah: Oh, just you, yeah.

[1:32] Hunter: Me, I was just like, I have I don't know what I'm a fan of.

[1:35] Bekah: Rome Michelle's high school reunion.

[1:37] Hunter: Sure.

[1:38] Bekah: That um me, I'm like glee, glee, glee, glee, glee, glee, glee.

[1:42] Hunter: I even said it on the TMZ tour bus too.

[1:44] Bekah: Yeah, in the TMZ.

[1:46] Hunter: She That didn't hit as much.

[1:48] Bekah: She was just like, she had didn't know what to do with that information.

[1:51] Hunter: She was like, okay.

[1:52] Bekah: Okay.

[1:52] Hunter: Oh, okay.

[1:53] Bekah: Wait, can I tell this?

[1:54] Hunter: Wait, can I tell this story really quickly on the podcast of me when I went to Boston when I went to um Boston?

[2:01] Bekah: I checked in at a hotel to go to Boston for the Leah Michelle concert.

[2:06] Hunter: And the the guy that was at um the the oh my god, what do you call it?

[2:11] Bekah: The front desk.

[2:12] Hunter: Um, he he was very friendly and very talkative, and he was like, What are you in town for?

[2:17] Bekah: He asked me an Elias.

[2:18] Hunter: And um, and we were like, oh, um, we're here to see Leah Michelle at City Winery.

[2:25] Bekah: And he said, I don't know what that is.

[2:30] Hunter: Which, you know, that's that's I don't know what Leah Michelle is.

[2:34] Bekah: That's for everyone.

[2:34] Hunter: That's for Leah Michelle fans.

[2:36] Bekah: That's you know, like I was there to see a Leah Michelle concert, but that's also for the Leah Michelle haters that are like, okay, yeah, exactly.

[2:42] Hunter: I don't know what that is.

[2:44] Bekah: Fuck yes.

[2:45] Hunter: Um, so uh, yeah, that's for everybody.

[2:48] Bekah: Um, but while we were in Los Angeles, we were trying out bits that really I feel like highlighted how exhausted we were.

[2:57] Hunter: Um because mentally, physically, spiritually, just by the end of the trip, I couldn't even say things.

[3:05] Bekah: I couldn't even just noncommittal go, okay.

[3:08] Hunter: Well, because I think it started out, it started out as a kiss, and how did it end up like this?

[3:13] Bekah: Because it's like I I started just like saying like okay to things because I was like just feigning excitement.

[3:20] Hunter: And then it just like everything that we were saying, I would just be like, okay, okay.

[3:26] Bekah: And then and then came the oh that's cute.

[3:31] Hunter: It's cute.

[3:33] Bekah: This isn't landing for anybody at all.

[3:35] Hunter: Just this is this is simply just for us.

[3:39] Bekah: Um, yeah.

[3:41] Hunter: Uh also we're recording this maybe a full like two weeks after our last episode.

[3:46] Bekah: Which is crazy for us.

[3:49] Hunter: Crazy that it's been so long.

[3:51] Bekah: Yeah.

[3:51] Hunter: Um, I'm excited to get back into it.

[3:54] Bekah: We recorded a podcast with Glee Boot last night.

[3:56] Hunter: Oh my god, that was so much fun.

[3:58] Bekah: And I kept thinking that I was gonna pull out this cup at some point.

[4:01] Hunter: Oh yeah.

[4:01] Bekah: This cup.

[4:02] Hunter: And then I never did.

[4:04] Bekah: Oh! Oh, that's cute.

[4:08] Hunter: That's cute that you thought that you were gonna pull that cup out.

[4:11] Bekah: Oh I love that.

[4:16] Hunter: Oh, okay.

[4:18] Bekah: Okay.

[4:18] Hunter: Okay.

[4:19] Bekah: While we were in Los Angeles, also the first episode, also, my dad just texted me and is like, are you a fan of Kevin McHale's podcast?

[4:28] Hunter: Oh.

[4:28] Bekah: And it's like, Dad, you knew that I was about to talk to you.

[4:30] Hunter: Kevin McHale, the MBA star.

[4:33] Bekah: Yeah.

[4:33] Hunter: Yeah.

[4:34] Bekah: Um, when we were in Los Angeles, the first episode of And That's What You Really Missed came out.

[4:41] Hunter: Uh, we listened to it.

[4:43] Bekah: You were you had your tutu around your head for some reason.

[4:46] Hunter: Oh, yeah.

[4:47] Bekah: We dressed up as Sophia Grace and Rosie.

[4:50] Hunter: The pics are available on the internet um on Instagram.com.

[4:54] Bekah: It's there.

[4:55] Hunter: It's there.

[4:56] Bekah: Uh, but you had your tutu for Sophia Grace on your head, just sitting there cross-legged, looking out into the abyss.

[5:03] Hunter: Like.

[5:03] Bekah: Just taking in content.

[5:05] Hunter: Taking in the glee content.

[5:07] Bekah: We we have.

[5:08] Hunter: I want to say we've been starved.

[5:11] Bekah: No.

[5:12] Hunter: No.

[5:13] Bekah: Hardly.

[5:14] Hunter: No, no, no.

[5:14] Bekah: Hardly.

[5:15] Hunter: Like, think about like, how about two broke girls?

[5:18] Bekah: They're starving.

[5:19] Hunter: Check in on that.

[5:20] Bekah: Starving.

[5:21] Hunter: Check in on the two broke girls fandom.

[5:24] Bekah: They are deprived.

[5:25] Hunter: Exactly.

[5:27] Bekah: Um.

[5:28] Hunter: Let's talk about the first two episodes.

[5:30] Bekah: Because the second episode came out today and I just finished listening to it.

[5:33] Hunter: Yeah.

[5:33] Bekah: Um really I the one thing I wanted drive home, I have a newfound appreciation for Ryan Murphy.

[5:43] Hunter: I I would say the same thing.

[5:45] Bekah: I have conflicted feelings, but go ahead.

[5:48] Hunter: I have conflicted feelings as well, but I there was a bunch of moments, especially in the second episode, when he was like, wait, was Michael Jackson season three or season two?

[5:57] Bekah: Wait, was what was uh Super Bowl season one or season two?

[6:01] Hunter: And I was like, I feel seen.

[6:03] Bekah: Yeah, I was thinking of you when when he was asking questions.

[6:08] Hunter: But the creator of this show was asking the same questions that you were.

[6:13] Bekah: Exactly.

[6:14] Hunter: I was like, Ryan Murphy, we're the same.

[6:16] Bekah: Yeah.

[6:17] Hunter: Um, and I really love, especially when he was talking about Whitney Houston.

[6:21] Bekah: Oh my god.

[6:22] Hunter: He says things that are so outrageous in such a casual way that I don't want to believe him.

[6:28] Bekah: But they are true.

[6:29] Hunter: Yeah.

[6:29] Bekah: Like he was like, oh yeah, I was just I was just talking to Whitney Houston.

[6:33] Hunter: Right.

[6:34] Bekah: Um and I'm like, oh, wait, wait, wait, back up.

[6:37] Hunter: What?

[6:38] Bekah: That really did sh like shake me to my core this morning when I heard that.

[6:43] Hunter: Um just because I was just like, are you kidding me?

[6:48] Bekah: It's like Whitney Houston.

[6:50] Hunter: I was just like feeling a lot of thoughts, and because like for Whitney Houston to be in one of the first 13 episodes, I feel like was major, and they didn't really like go into that because it's like please correct me if I'm wrong, Gleeks, because I did not watch season one live.

[7:08] Bekah: I I started in season two.

[7:10] Hunter: But the first 13 episodes were filmed like in a bubble, they were not released, and then the world saw it, and then they come back from hiatus, and it's like, okay, the entire world knows what we are.

[7:24] Bekah: Yes.

[7:25] Hunter: So it's like after talking to um Josh Sussex.

[7:30] Bekah: I I think that's That's kind of what he was saying to us.

[7:33] Hunter: Um but like for like Whitney Houston to be considering just like going on to a s like a series that nobody like she doesn't even know how it's gonna do.

[7:41] Bekah: Just because she likes choir.

[7:43] Hunter: Right.

[7:43] Bekah: And it's like I just loved her being like, yeah, I would love to be a teacher.

[7:48] Hunter: And it's like I could see Whitney Houston saying that.

[7:50] Bekah: Winnie Houston also hilarious interviewee.

[7:53] Hunter: Um please go watch Whitney Houston's interview with Wendy Williams.

[7:57] Bekah: She was a hilarious woman.

[7:58] Hunter: I will say that.

[8:00] Bekah: Yeah.

[8:01] Hunter: I I love that.

[8:02] Bekah: The little nuggets of information that they're just dropping on us are so so so very good.

[8:08] Hunter: And I'm eager to see where the entire podcast goes because all in all, they don't really talk about the pilot plot.

[8:15] Bekah: Well, when they get to the end of the episode and they do like a like Kevin and Jenna, like after the um talk, they just record like some dialogue of just them too.

[8:27] Hunter: And Jenna was like, oh my god, I love talking to Ryan Murphy.

[8:31] Bekah: Um, tune in next week when we talk about the pilot of Glee.

[8:34] Hunter: And I'm like, oh, okay.

[8:36] Bekah: Okay, so this is just a preview.

[8:37] Hunter: So this is the pilot of your podcast.

[8:40] Bekah: And so um, by the time that this episode comes out, we will have the pilot.

[8:46] Hunter: Um, it will be a day after.

[8:48] Bekah: But um, yeah, I don't know.

[8:50] Hunter: I don't know what the format is.

[8:52] Bekah: I really hope that it continues to like build on these first two episodes.

[8:58] Hunter: I think they were just I very good yeah very quiet episodes though ooh say that say that Kevin and Jenna how far away were the microphones from you yeah I was cranking that soldier boy you know um yeah oh my god and also wait can we talk about and I don't I mean to toot my own horn but to two our own horn don't get it twisted you commented we commented on and that's what you missed Pod on Instagram and they did follow us back and say that they would like to collaborate with with us.

[9:35] Bekah: So if if that's real I think the Geks will explode and as will I.

[9:40] Hunter: Wha what even kind of questions would I ask Kevin and Jenna I'd just be like No don't do that.

[9:47] Bekah: Like no I want them to look forward to this content.

[9:49] Hunter: As you should I but in my head I'm like I see you and that's uh what did you take from set?

[10:00] Bekah: I want to know what they took home.

[10:02] Hunter: Well I want to open it up to um everybody that follows us and like I really and like filter through these questions and be like what are some questions that I feel comfortable asking um these The hard hitting.

[10:17] Bekah: The the hard hitting like not even the hard hitting but like some like really interesting questions that it's like hey uh like who would you like if you were to play any other character except for Tina Coen Shang, who would you want to play?

[10:28] Hunter: I think that sure that's a softball question.

[10:30] Bekah: But like I would consider a more hard-hitting question.

[10:33] Hunter: Give it to us w if the opportunity arises that we do talk to Kevin McHale and Jenna Oshka, which was kind of insane to even say out loud.

[10:43] Bekah: I'll say that.

[10:44] Hunter: Insane.

[10:45] Bekah: But um I don't know.

[10:47] Hunter: People are saying that.

[10:48] Bekah: A lot of people are trying to a lot of people are saying that.

[10:51] Hunter: A bit that you did try last week.

[10:53] Bekah: I tried, I tried that bit.

[10:55] Hunter: I really want that bit to land.

[10:57] Bekah: Uh-huh.

[10:58] Hunter: Um.

[10:59] Bekah: But I will say, I'm just like, I don't know.

[11:02] Hunter: I'm I'm not trying to put the cart before the horse.

[11:04] Bekah: With but without revealing anything, we have been um sort of edged with some Glee cast members in the past.

[11:12] Hunter: Uh and won't name names, but um the collaboration was was looking hopeful, and then it fell through.

[11:22] Bekah: It was like Anne Hathaway.

[11:24] Hunter: It was like Anne Hathaway playing Kurtsay on Glee.

[11:27] Bekah: Yeah, it was like, is will they or won't they?

[11:29] Hunter: The schedule's not lining up.

[11:31] Bekah: People are talking about it publicly, people are saying this.

[11:33] Hunter: People are saying this, a lot of people are saying this.

[11:35] Bekah: A lot of people are saying Anne Hathaway was it gonna be on Glee.

[11:38] Hunter: Mm-hmm.

[11:39] Bekah: But uh we we we really want to talk to Kevin and But what I wanna what I do want to say about like Ryan Murphy of it all is that like, yes, I think that I felt like a certain like similarity to after I watched like the Spring Awakening documentary with like Leah Michelle, where it was like, okay, okay, this girl, she got jokes, and also a likable person.

[12:02] Hunter: Um hearing Ryan laugh, I was like, yeah.

[12:08] Bekah: Yeah, okay.

[12:09] Hunter: I love this.

[12:10] Bekah: Yeah.

[12:11] Hunter: Um, like it just, I don't know.

[12:14] Bekah: It's it just made sense.

[12:17] Hunter: Yeah, it it worked.

[12:18] Bekah: Mission accomplished.

[12:20] Hunter: Um, yep.

[12:21] Bekah: But you know, I had to sort of ground myself after listening to it, and not entirely like, you know, I I hate Ryan Murphy, I love Ryan Murphy.

[12:29] Hunter: You know, I'm I'm allowed to be a complicated person.

[12:31] Bekah: Um but I do remember that he did troll brutana fans on Twitter.

[12:38] Hunter: And I will not quickly forget that.

[12:42] Bekah: So with that in mind.

[12:45] Hunter: I really liked the bit he had to say because I uh I really liked Dahmer.

[12:51] Bekah: Yeah.

[12:52] Hunter: And to hear what he had to say about the the urinal cakes.

[12:56] Bekah: Yeah.

[12:57] Hunter: Cakes, wild.

[12:58] Bekah: I was like, oh my god, yeah, that makes sense.

[13:01] Hunter: Well, I just like I felt for him, and like in the first part, and I remember we talked about this when we listened to it together, but like when he talked about like just growing up gay and then working in this industry and then being told no after no after no, and you know, like just being treated as a gay man and not being treated seriously in this industry for the longest time, and then getting this huge yes with glee, and then you know, being given like, hey, green light after green light with, you know, hey, like if you want to do American horror story, do you want to do American crime story?

[13:01] Bekah: Do you want to do 9-1-1?

[13:38] Hunter: You know, he's doing all of these things, and then he I just like I felt emo thinking about like when he was talking about leaving these like children, he felt like a father leaving them behind.

[13:48] Bekah: And I was like, okay, I'm sad.

[13:50] Hunter: I don't know.

[13:52] Bekah: Have you ever watched 9-1-1?

[13:54] Hunter: I watched a few episodes and like sure.

[13:57] Bekah: I watched at Ronnie and Sam's house, I watched a single episode, but that was after we had just hiked Yosemite, and so I fell asleep.

[14:05] Hunter: So intermittently I was waking up and like an entire building had caught on fire, and then I'd go to sleep, and then several people would be dead, and then I'd go to sleep again.

[14:14] Bekah: It's trauma. And I was just, I was consuming, it was wild.

[14:17] Hunter: Yeah.

[14:18] Bekah: I have so I've never really watched an episode. But that's okay. Um I love American Horror Story. Big American Horror Story girl right here.

[14:26] Hunter: Wait, how many scenes have you watched, truly, of that?

[14:29] Bekah: I've watched Murder House, Asylum, Coven.

[14:33] Hunter: Freak Show?

[14:34] Bekah: Uh what?

[14:35] Hunter: Freak Show.

[14:36] Bekah: I did not watch Freak Show. I fell off the bandwagon at Freak Show. I watched Roanoke. I watched Apocalypse. Um, and then I've watched a lot of American horror stories.

[14:50] Hunter: Yes, 1984 is one.

[14:52] Bekah: Hotel.

[14:53] Hunter: Hotel, uh-uh.

[14:55] Bekah: I tried watching that. I watched most of it. I watched like 70% of it.

[14:59] Hunter: Yeah.

[14:59] Bekah: And then Lady Gaga was having sex in a pool of blood, and I was like, I think that's episode one. And that's where I fell off too.

[15:06] Hunter: Um I was like, no.

[15:09] Bekah: That's okay. Okay. Um Lady Gaga like takes the small child under her wing, and I was like, oh no about this.

[15:15] Hunter: Yeah, I don't know about this.

[15:16] Bekah: Um, here are good things though. She got the golden globe. Um Slick.

[15:20] Hunter: I yeah.

[15:20] Bekah: I I just I just felt for the fact that he was like, okay, you know, it was not natural for him to get a green light after green light. And it's like when you when you when you drive in down that street and you seeing green light after green light, yeah, you're just gonna keep on driving.

[15:35] Hunter: Speed up.

[15:35] Bekah: Yes. Zoom zoom.

[15:37] Hunter: Yes. Uh so Ryan Murphy, we feel conflicted is what I'm gonna say.

[15:44] Bekah: We not sure. Um we're not sure. Any any final thoughts?

[15:47] Hunter: I wanted to, I asked on Instagram, like what uh what does everybody what does everybody feel gagged about about these first two episodes?

[15:57] Bekah: Um oh, that we almost had a warbler spinoff. That's wild to me.

[16:04] Hunter: And you asked me, you were like, do you think that the warbler characters like Kurt Mega's character, Riker Lynch's character, um would have had like full storylines. Because like in the spinoffs I almost like feel like they would just be like, oops, they were sort of extras.

[16:25] Bekah: Let's hire a bunch of CW looking men.

[16:29] Hunter: Sure.

[16:30] Bekah: I don't that is the CW look is what Ryan Murphy was talking about.

[16:34] Hunter: Right.

[16:35] Bekah: Um, I don't know. I would have wanted more Sebastian just to satisfy my dirty dirty needs.

[16:44] Hunter: Sure, sure, sure.

[16:45] Bekah: Yeah, yeah. Um I don't know. I mean, like, the fact that he says that he regrets it, I don't know. I was talking to Elias about it, and he was like, I feel like that show would still be on today if if he did a spin-off. And I'm like, Interesting. I kind of have to agree.

[17:04] Hunter: I mean, there's like, why not, right? Well, and the fact that Ryan and Kevin and Jenna all agreed that um if they didn't come back for the quarterback, they probably would have stopped.

[17:17] Bekah: Yeah.

[17:18] Hunter: Like that would have been the end.

[17:20] Bekah: Right. That hits. Well, also because you know my qualms with the quarterback, and I think they have their own qualms as well.

[17:28] Hunter: The thing about the quarterback for me was like I in recent years have changed my perspective about Diana Agron being included in the quarterback, and I really do think that she was asked to come back and she simply didn't want to.

[17:47] Bekah: And we are just creating drama where drama does not need to be. Okay. And I understand that there is an interview that has since been like sort of just like erased from the internet where it suggests that she was asked to come back.

[18:04] Hunter: But the f I don't know. I just feel as though like why not? Like I think that Ryan Murphy is for the most part a reasonable person.

[18:15] Bekah: And I think that he would have invited Diana Agron back if he was inviting people like Harry Shum Jr. and Amber Riley were like people who had less of a relationship with the character.

[18:26] Hunter: Right.

[18:27] Bekah: So I don't know. Yeah, it's I mean, grief is a tough thing to handle. And I don't it they like they were talking about on the podcast, like there's no right or wrong way to deal with it.

[18:38] Hunter: Right.

[18:38] Bekah: And the fact that they had a grief counselor on campus and nobody went to them is wild to me. But like in a good way or a bad way, I don't know.

[18:49] Hunter: Well, I think it's just like what's uh Harry Styles, like it's the son of the times.

[18:54] Bekah: It's a sign of the time. I think it's just the sign of the times.

[18:57] Hunter: Yeah.

[18:58] Bekah: Nobody wanted to talk about their feelings back in uh 2013. I don't know how much of a moment this was for you, but like the um Jenna Michael Jackson episode.

[19:09] Hunter: Yeah.

[19:10] Bekah: Wow. That really like stuck out to me like because she is not like I've always noticed that as the Michael Jackson episode continues on, Tina is less and less in it, and then she's fully just like not in the black or white number.

[19:25] Hunter: Also, black or white yet to be pulled, maybe tonight.

[19:28] Bekah: Um, she's not in that performance, and then she's not at all in this in the immediately following episode, the Spanish teacher, which you know, I just made a mental note. I remember going into school the next day and being like with like the few people that watch Glee still, and I was like, hey, did anybody notice which Glee character wasn't there? And no one could tell.

[19:46] Hunter: Really?

[19:49] Bekah: And so she's not in the Michael Jackson episode at all.

[19:52] Hunter: No, she is.

[19:53] Bekah: She is.

[19:54] Hunter: Oh.

[19:54] Bekah: And I think that, well, like my mind immediately went to a Leah Michelle interview with Andy Cohen like a few years ago, where he asked what the worst episode of Glee was, like the hardest episode to do. And or I don't know what the phrasing was exactly, but she said that um doing the Michael Jackson episode, particularly the bad performance in the um parking garage, uh, was like extremely exhausting and just excruciating, and they were there all night.

[20:25] Hunter: And there was a point where Leah says her and Amber were like, nope, we're leaving.

[20:30] Bekah: And I feel as though after learning this today, that Jenna was also there, and that was also a breaking point. This is all headcanon, allegedly, um, that Jenna was like, this is a breaking point for me. She might have snapped, you know, for good reason. And um, and then they were just like, you're done, leave.

[20:53] Hunter: Sure.

[20:53] Bekah: Take a break. That's what I think.

[20:56] Hunter: Yeah, I I mean, I agree with you. Uh especially after going to to wrap it up, especially after going to the Paramount Studios tour.

[21:05] Bekah: Yeah.

[21:06] Hunter: How they how TV shows are filmed, even further mystified by how that is done.

[21:15] Bekah: Like them saying that the Super Bowl episode took a month to film.

[21:20] Hunter: Yeah.

[21:21] Bekah: I'm just like, excuse me. Truly. Like it really, like brain hurting, brain no-worky. Yeah. When I try to figure out, like I I can't, I could never work in film production in any way, shape, or form. It really blows my mind, and the people that do it are absolutely incredible.

[21:40] Hunter: It's so weird that you say that because I did ask if you would want to work on film sets as a as like a bird coordinator, and you said, yeah, absolutely.

[21:48] Bekah: Okay, bird coordinator?

[21:50] Hunter: Yes.

[21:51] Bekah: Okay, but what if there was a bird performance of bad in the parking garage that lasted all night?

[21:59] Hunter: You know what? I the bird, the bird can't speak our language. I gotta listen to the bird's body language. You know, the bird's not coming out, I'm not coming out, baby.

[22:06] Bekah: Okay, but you speak for the bird, and they're like, Allison, you're done. You're not gonna be in the Spanish episode. You're done, take a break.

[22:14] Hunter: Then I do it. Um, truly, anything else?

[22:18] Bekah: I I the the Justin Timmerlake at all of it all, like I know that people like were gagged by that, and I will say, not to be like annoying or anything, y'all need to stop being gagged by everything. Because like I feel like the proof is in the fucking pudding that it's like, okay, it's very evident that they wanted Justin Timberly. Very obvious. Down to the hair.

[22:34] Hunter: Oh my god.

[22:38] Bekah: Down to the fucking hair. Like, when I think about it, Matthew Morrison is the B-side Justin Timberlake.

[22:44] Hunter: Yeah.

[22:45] Bekah: Like his experience in the boy band LMNT element. I think so.

[22:49] Hunter: You this is your thing, not mine.

[22:52] Bekah: Yeah, he was in a boy band very briefly. Um, he has the hair, he has the attitude, and I can just see Justin Timberlake rapping uh just as uncomfortably and trying to be sexy.

[23:05] Hunter: Yeah.

[23:06] Bekah: Uh I I can very much see it. And I want Justin Timberlake. We talked about this. Like it's it's a Justin Timberlake problem now. Like I feel like Justin Timberlake has to respond.

[23:15] Hunter: I know.

[23:15] Bekah: Not problem, but thing. But it's like a thing. Like I I just don't like when I don't know. I don't enjoy when actors do this, that it's like, oh, this person didn't get the role, and then it's like, okay, when they do a red carpet, it's like, hey, Ann Hathaway. How do you feel about not getting the rule of Will Schuster? And it's like, I don't fucking care. I have Grammy.

[23:33] Hunter: Justin Tipper's like, I don't give a fuck. You remember my album, Suit and Tie?

[23:39] Bekah: Yeah. You wouldn't have gotten that.

[23:42] Hunter: No.

[23:42] Bekah: Oh my god. My mom literally threw that out. Who would have sang it?

[23:47] Hunter: Yeah.

[23:48] Bekah: Long as I got my party. I'm not being on the float tonight.

[23:52] Hunter: It's Will Schuster, actually.

[23:53] Bekah: Oh, really? Okay.

[23:55] Hunter: Yeah. Um, okay, wait. Do you want a song prediction?

[23:58] Bekah: Yes.

[23:59] Hunter: Okay. Three.

[24:01] Bekah: Three.

[24:01] Hunter: Two.

[24:02] Bekah: One.

[24:03] Hunter: One. You will agree with me.

[24:10] Bekah: Oh, that's fun. Actually, I feel as though, you know, I talked to the the head Hancho in charge, and both uh songs are gonna be in this episode.

[24:19] Hunter: Great!

[24:19] Bekah: Oh my god! Righteous!

[24:23] Andrew: Hi, Gleeks. We're back with another podcast collaboration. These episodes are so much fun to do. Uh, we're here with Hunter and Becca from Time Mochine Podcast. How are you both?

[24:39] Hunter: We're great.

[24:39] Bekah: We're great.

[24:40] Andrew: How are you guys?

[24:41] Hunter: We're doing so great.

[24:43] Bekah: We were just on your podcast to end two parts to talk about the Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock.

[24:50] Hunter: Yes.

[24:51] Bekah: You guys were like it was so fun.

[24:51] Hunter: It was so fun.

[24:54] Bekah: You guys came on. We just celebrated our like two-year anniversary. We're like, let's do something fun. You guys came on and it was better than we could expect it. It was just so much fun.

[25:05] Hunter: Two years. That means like you can walk and talk, right?

[25:08] Bekah: Can you as a podcast? Can you talk in the I hope you can. Are you potty trained?

[25:13] Hunter: In the chat.

[25:15] Bekah: I don't know if you're if you're two in the chat. Um the two year olds. Can you also type?

[25:22] Hunter: Right.

[25:22] Bekah: Let us know. I don't know if you're potty trained, but you can definitely go. I just did a boom boom in my in the chat.

[25:30] Hunter: (laughs)

[25:30] Bekah: Hunter and Becca, walk us through what your podcast is all about.

[25:35] Hunter: Yeah, uh, sure. Becca, do you want to go? I feel like you're better at explaining it than I am.

[25:39] Bekah: So our podcast basically is the golden age of Disney Channel. Anything from decoms, TV shows, album reviews, artist deep dives, literally anything related to the Disney Channel, really at any point. And if it aired on the Disney Channel, it also counts. Like we've done some theatrical releases that just have aired on the Disney Channel. Um it's a safe space for our Disney Channel darlings, our time travelers.

[26:02] Hunter: Yeah.

[26:03] Bekah: So yeah, it's it's been a it's been a fun time. It's been, it's fun. I feel like we reacted or reactivated a lot of memories in people's heads. Because they'll like we'll get comments, be like, I totally forgot about this. We'll like post this obscure thing. And it's the weird thing that lives in the crevices in your brain. So I feel like that's what our podcast is all about. We're a can of compressed air blowing out the folds of your nostalgia brains.

[26:29] Hunter: Oh, wait, I love that. Good analogy. Put that on a pillow. I'm obsessed.

[26:34] Bekah: No, I'm I love that. And I we're trying to plan, my friends and I are trying to plan like uh instead of a Super Bowl party, we're trying to do a Disney Channel games party and just watch that instead of the Super Bowl.

[26:45] Hunter: It's gonna need to be like anti-prom of Super Bowl.

[26:48] Bekah: We did uh not to plug, but I'm gonna play it. Okay, no plug. Um we did like last summer we did all the Disney Channel games. It's so good. And it's just so so if you do this, and I hope you do it, it's just so fun to watch like not like the Disney Channel kids as like characters, but as themselves.

[27:06] Hunter: Yeah, like it's very funny to watch a 15-year-old Miley Cyrus playing like this weird game with like a 21-year-old Zach Efron, and he's clearly annoyed that he has to hang around with Miley and then like the Sprouse twins running around.

[27:21] Bekah: Well, wait, how many years did they do the Disney Channel game?

[27:25] Hunter: Um there were three.

[27:26] Bekah: There were three.

[27:27] Hunter: There was 2006, 7, and 8.

[27:29] Bekah: I think the best one is 06.

[27:31] Hunter: Yeah.

[27:31] Bekah: Um, which is the only one on Disney Plus is 08.

[27:34] Hunter: Yeah, but 08's fine, but it's the worst one I am okay.

[27:40] Bekah: Who is even there for 08?

[27:41] Hunter: Exactly.

[27:43] Bekah: Miss Emmy Lovato, for one. Yeah, it's like 06 is like high school musical, Hannah Montana, okay, Raven's still there. And by the time you get to 08, it's like, who are these people?

[27:54] Hunter: Yeah.

[27:55] Bekah: It's the B team.

[27:56] Hunter: Okay.

[27:57] Bekah: So I'm gonna have to like be able to find a website to to stream the 06.

[28:01] Hunter: We watched them. They're all on YouTube. And they're all like compressed, like in like a full hour.

[28:06] Bekah: So okay. Don't worry. We'll we'll sing to the link. We'll send you the link. Drop the link in the chat for the two-year-olds as well.

[28:13] Hunter: (laughs)

[28:13] Bekah: Um, okay, wait, and so you we know your relationship with the Disney Channel.

[28:16] Bekah: Also, what is your relationship with the hip box show Glee, which we were going to be talking about today?

[28:20] Hunter: Oh, Bekah. Once again, should you go first? Because I feel like mine's I guess so because mine's going to be short.

[28:27] Bekah: Um, your fans are going to hate me. I am not. So I've seen the pilot of Glee. And over the years, I've obviously heard some of the songs. I was in a Glee charity show in high school where we just like sang songs that were on Glee in this show. And I was supposed to do the My Chemical Romance version of "Sing" with somebody else. And then at the last minute, they were like, never mind. So I did "The Only Exception" instead.

[28:53] Hunter: Oh, as a solo number.

[28:56] Bekah: I think I was fine. I don't think I should really be singing Paramore in a public setting.

[29:01] Hunter: I'm sure you slayed.

[29:03] Bekah: But we did like a medley, so some of those songs I'm like hoping come up that we played Miss Medley. But other than that, I am fairly smooth-brained when it comes to Glee. Um, the hitbox show Glee, mind you. Um, Glee premiered on my birthday.

[29:18] Hunter: Oh, May 19th.

[29:25] Bekah: What year too?

[29:26] Hunter: May 19th, 2009.

[29:28] Bekah: I was 14, my 14th birthday.

[29:30] Hunter: You were born.

[29:31] Bekah: Right. I was born. Yeah. Um, like some people have the mark of the beast. I have the mark of the gleek.

[29:37] Hunter: I love that.

[29:38] Bekah: I could settle that. Um, and I like to say I've been cursed since that day. Uh no. Um, I was in New York, weirdly, and it was like right, it was like the year. What was it? American Idol. It was Adam Lambert's year. I think anyway, we were big American Idol people.

[29:54] Hunter: Okay.

[29:54] Bekah: And Glee came on after, and I was like, this show is so cool. I can't wait. And it was like that sneak peek. And then it came on later in the fall. So that was my first. Yeah, it was the summer going into my senior year.

[30:05] Hunter: Um, not senior year, uh, freshman year of high school. So it kind of hit right at that time.

[30:11] Bekah: Oh, we had watch parties at my friend's like bonus room. We went to the Glee 3D concert movie.

[30:21] Hunter: Yes.

[30:22] Bekah: And we I lived in a very small town, and we're like, we gotta get the midnight, gotta go to the midnight because you know it's gonna be sold out. We got our tickets early. We dressed up as characters.

[30:32] Hunter: I love.

[30:33] Bekah: Um, and we went to the theater thinking like we gotta get there like probably an hour early, like the leaks are gonna arrive. Yeah, we were the only people in the theater.

[30:42] Hunter: Yeah, dressed and yeah, it's just one of those things, like it's a part of me in a weird way. I watched till the very end. I'm one of those people that watched like until the very, very end.

[30:55] Bekah: Okay, I love that. And weird enough, this is weird. So the final episode of Glee, it like cuts to like it's like a time jump where you where it's like begins at the end of a competition.

[31:09] Hunter: Yeah, that the episode ends with a the episode begins with a competition and so they're walking down um the stairs and they're announcing all the teams that are like from the city and the state, and I'm sitting watching it.

[31:20] Bekah: Um, and they say the city that's like 10 minutes from the town I grew up in in the episode.

[31:27] Hunter: Oh, really?

[31:28] Bekah: And I stopped and I thought it was just kind of like because I'm on watching like the local Fox channel that they like inserted on like the town over for me, and I was like, wait, what? And then no, it's like, so it's canon that I exist in the Glee universe.

[31:43] Hunter: Wow.

[31:44] Bekah: I think when Lady Gaga, you and I, like, that's exactly what I was thinking.

[31:48] Hunter: Yes.

[31:49] Bekah: Edited in the different cities.

[31:51] Hunter: Kentucky.

[31:52] Bekah: I love you.

[31:53] Hunter: St. Paul, St. Paul, I love you.

[31:55] Bekah: Luckily, I heard that in Nashville, so it fit. And I thought that that was the real words for a long, long, long, long, long time.

[32:02] Hunter: Yeah, I grew up in South Carolina, so she really had to like say it really fast.

[32:06] Bekah: And that was I love that. Okay. Iconic. Is great. And I I love the I feel like the we I feel like we said this in the episode, but the Venn diagram of Disney Channel people and Glee people is almost a circle.

[32:24] Hunter: Oh yeah.

[32:25] Bekah: Like it's very, very similar kind of audience at the time. Like if you went, it was the Disney Channel pipeline to Glee.

[32:33] Hunter: Wait, I mean, you need adult content. We're called Gleex. Is there a name for like Disney Channel fans?

[32:40] Bekah: I mean, we've coined a phrase and I hope it catches on.

[32:43] Hunter: Okay.

[32:43] Bekah: Like Disney Channel darlings. Well, because you have the Disney adults, which me and Becca have always been like, are we Disney adults? That's a slur. No, we're not.

[32:53] Hunter: Right.

[32:54] Bekah: And we we say we're like Disney Channel adults, which is it worse? I don't know. Um, I think if you're a Disney adult, you're required to have like a full sleeve of the Disney parks on your calf, and it can only be on your calf.

[33:06] Hunter: Yeah.

[33:07] Bekah: So I think we're fine.

[33:08] Hunter: I think you're legally obligated to the the man wears the shirt, I gave the D, and the female is wearing I asked for the D.

[33:17] Bekah: And it's the Disney. Those are my favorite genre of shirts.

[33:21] Hunter: We saw that at Disney.

[33:22] Bekah: I paid for this trip shirts.

[33:24] Hunter: Oh, I hate that.

[33:25] Bekah: Oh my god. Yeah, broke and spoiled.

[33:29] Hunter: And it's the O is the Mickey.

[33:31] Bekah: Oh my god. My favorite Disney villain is my wife.

[33:34] Hunter: Yeah.

[33:35] Bekah: A lot of money. Well, I I will never forget. I'm changed in a lover's marriage. Please get me out.

[33:41] Hunter: They're like, they're like, okay, but to the Matterhorn, I guess.

[33:43] Bekah: Right. Like, that's a whole genre of shirts that's basically just like, I freaking hate my bitch fucking Disney wife. Like, say what you mean.

[33:49] Hunter: Just say what you mean.

[33:52] Bekah: Exactly. I will never forget waiting for the rope drop at um California Adventure. And like me just asking an honest question about how people are in the park already.

[34:02] Hunter: Like, was suddenly like I felt like I was attacked by seagulls of like people being like, I'll answer this question for you. I'll answer this question. I was like, please leave me alone.

[34:11] Bekah: Disney Park between my friend and I. Disney Park people love answering questions about Disney Park.

[34:17] Hunter: And they love to vlog in line, and you're like in their video, and you just can't do anything about it.

[34:25] Bekah: So good. So since our two fandoms have a lot of crossover, um, we want to ask you, put you on the spot and kind of dreamcast some things for us.

[34:38] Hunter: Like if Rachel Berry's is gonna go home 87 Central, sit down in front of the in front of the TV. Um, what Disney Channel original movie do you think is Rachel Berry's's favorite?

[34:49] Bekah: Um, I feel like it's so obvious, but I think she'd love High School Musical.

[34:55] Hunter: Obviously, correct.

[34:57] Bekah: Yeah. It's just about drama and I feel like the show she'd love would be Hannah Montana.

[35:04] Hunter: Yes. Wait, why do you say that?

[35:06] Bekah: I don't know. It's just very music heavy. I think she would either love that. Like something like very like female driven.

[35:12] Hunter: Like someone going after her dreams.

[35:14] Bekah: Young aunt. That's why I and she would be the one, like, if Rachel watches High School Musical, she'd be the first one to say, well, Sharpe wasn't the villain. She just like she just wanted the lead.

[35:25] Hunter: I can relate to that.

[35:26] Bekah: So I think the basic answer is High School Musical for Rachel, for sure. I feel like Rachel Berry's feels like she's above Michi Torres and therefore would just like not be able to do that.

[35:36] Hunter: Yeah, I'm not getting like any of like the sports movies from her or any of the space ones.

[35:42] Bekah: Very like.

[35:48] Hunter: She just loves surfing.

[35:50] Bekah: I feel like that might be like Sam's favorite decom.

[35:52] Hunter: Oh yeah. Definitely some one of the sports ones.

[35:56] Bekah: Yeah, for sure. I feel like No, uh Sam's would be Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off.

[36:00] Hunter: Oh yeah.

[36:02] Bekah: Yes. I think that that's what me.

[36:04] Hunter: Yeah. What do you think Brittany's is?

[36:06] Bekah: Ooh. I don't know. Something like uh maybe some perfect.

[36:14] Hunter: Oh, I like that.

[36:16] Bekah: That's a good one. So I'm trying to think of some of the decoms. Maybe something like Ooh, maybe like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato Princess Protection Program.

[36:26] Hunter: That'd be good.

[36:27] Bekah: Wait. Something like that. And then that's Britney and Santana's Halloween costume.

[36:34] Hunter: Like the poster of like ones in the yellow dress.

[36:36] Bekah: Yes. And they're just like Yeah, something like that.

[36:41] Hunter: Wait, audio medium. Audio medium. I'm putting my hand on my channel.

[36:46] Bekah: You need to explain for the listeners.

[36:49] Hunter: All you have to do is say Princess Protection Program. And if it knows if you know, you know.

[36:53] Bekah: Right. You know you know.

[36:54] Hunter: If you know, you know.

[36:55] Bekah: Um, who's going home and like DVRing Stuck in the Suburbs?

[36:59] Hunter: Oh, like Tina?

[37:02] Bekah: That's what I was gonna say.

[37:04] Hunter: Tina? She would. She would text Artie, be like, are you watching tonight? And it is Artie watching it tonight.

[37:12] Bekah: He's watching the next day.

[37:13] Hunter: Because she's DVRing it.

[37:15] Bekah: Exactly. She's gonna watch it, DVR it, and he's gonna come over the next day and they're gonna watch it together.

[37:20] Hunter: Of course. I think Artie would like Minute Men. Y'all know that one.

[37:23] Bekah: Yes.

[37:24] Hunter: Wait, that was like that guy's name, the blonde guy.

[37:27] Bekah: Jason Dolly.

[37:28] Hunter: Jason Dolly. He would have been good in Glee.

[37:31] Bekah: Jason Dolly was too busy being absorbed by the mouse from like 2008 to 2010.

[37:37] Hunter: He was pretty bugged at the time.

[37:38] Bekah: Jason Dolly. That isn't. Good luck, Charlie.

[37:41] Hunter: That's good luck, Charlie, not Sonny with a Chance.

[37:43] Bekah: Who is the Sonny with a Chance blonde?

[37:45] Hunter: Sonny with a darling Sterling Knight.

[37:46] Bekah: He's from 17 Again, who played uh Zach Efron's brother slash son.

[37:52] Hunter: And Starstruck.

[37:54] Bekah: You wanna get started.

[37:56] Hunter: I forgot on that.

[37:57] Bekah: Yeah, his two-second music career.

[37:59] Hunter: It should have been on Glee.

[38:01] Bekah: Should have been on Glee. A lot.

[38:02] Hunter: Okay. I'm gonna throw it back to you guys. Which, besides Demi Lovato, who has been on Glee, which Disney Channel star do you think would have been great as a Glee cast member?

[38:14] Bekah: Ooh, that's so funny. There are there are a lot of obvious ones because I'm I have dreamcasted Hillary Duff in several roles in like my little fan fiction that I do.

[38:28] Hunter: Um I think Raven Simone, absolutely.

[38:32] Bekah: Oh, that would have been so fun.

[38:34] Hunter: Cyrus, absolutely. Jason Earles, fuck it. He gonna be the teacher.

[38:39] Bekah: No, you're just opening a can of worms now. Stop it.

[38:43] Hunter: That's a good thing about Jason Earles, he was just so old he could be the teacher or he'd be the student.

[38:46] Bekah: He could be someone's son.

[38:48] Hunter: Yeah. Not to go to that for Lucas Graybill like I always do, but Lucas Grabiole.

[38:52] Bekah: Lucas Gray would have done very well. How you can stream by Lucas Grabial include Um You Know I Will from Fox and the Hound 2, his cover of Let It Snow from Disney Channel Holiday, his cover of Baby by Justin Bieber from Sharpe's Fabulous Adventure, Glee Castle and the Cats.

[39:07] Hunter: I really feel like he should have had a bigger music career than he did, but I don't need to get into all that.

[39:12] Bekah: Did y'all ever discuss the um the the like environmental songs?

[39:20] Hunter: Send it on Friends were Changed.

[39:24] Bekah: Yeah, we did one like where we talked about all those collaborations. Because at the time when they did send it on, like Miley just broke up with Nick and he started dating Selena and Dimmy and Joe started dating, and then Kevin's just hanging out and driving like the carpool.

[39:39] Hunter: Well, Kevin was the first to have like a relationship.

[39:44] Bekah: Yeah.

[39:45] Hunter: So yeah, he was like married by the time he was like probably doing that.

[39:48] Bekah: Yeah, he's the only one that like really kept his purity ring true.

[39:52] Hunter: He's like, guys, stop. I'm married.

[39:53] Bekah: No, taking it off was an option. I do remember like a weird article that someone asked, like, how does it feel now that you're married?

[39:59] Hunter: And he like got into like details about how it felt like taking off his purity ring, and which go Google it if you want. It's just like weird. Like, why did we ask about that back in the day?

[40:09] Bekah: Why are we asking celebrities these questions?

[40:11] Hunter: Yeah.

[40:13] Bekah: Anyway, it makes you think.

[40:15] Hunter: It makes you think.

[40:16] Bekah: It really makes you think. I I feel like the Turn of Smothers, if it like if the timeline was correct and they were coming up at the same time that Glee could have had it had it happen, I feel like they would have made sense.

[40:17] Hunter: They would have made sense.

[40:29] Bekah: Oh yeah. I feel like they're like they're playing themselves, though.

[40:33] Hunter: Oh I was thinking like uh these transfer students who already had a band and they're like competing with the glee club.

[40:39] Bekah: Oh, okay.

[40:40] Hunter: Ooh, like at a talent show.

[40:43] Bekah: Yeah.

[40:44] Hunter: It's like we can't compete with that. Guys, we don't play instruments. So how are we supposed to compete against that?

[40:50] Bekah: Yeah. Sho Schuster huddles them all together, but we're the Glee Club. You're all minorities. You're all minorities. Come on now.

[40:57] Hunter: Then they do a cover of Burn It Up and the Jonas Brothers will be like, what is the song?

[41:01] Bekah: The song is so good. What is this song?

[41:04] Hunter: Wait. While we're talking about it, I feel as though if a Glee boot is going to happen, and it will, I feel certain.

[41:10] Bekah: I mean, like, Disney owns the property now.

[41:13] Hunter: It only makes sense.

[41:15] Bekah: Yeah. That they cover more Disney songs. They famously only covered um Bella Note and Let It Go.

[41:21] Hunter: And um So I feel like, come on now. They're doing they're really going balls the wall with Disney in the reboot.

[41:28] Bekah: Oh. They'll definitely do like a Disney themed, like whoever the new Mr. Schuster is will write it on the whiteboard.

[1:06:51] Bekah: I just can't even excuse me. I need to go kill myself.

[1:06:56] Hunter: The greatest star.

[1:06:59] Bekah: I am my foot.

[1:07:01] Andrew: But no one knows it.

[1:07:06] Hunter: That's why I was born.

[1:07:10] Bekah: I'll blow my arm till someone knows it.

[1:07:19] Andrew: I let up like a light.

[1:07:22] Hunter: Let up a light.

[1:07:24] Bekah: I'll flicker them flare.

[1:07:28] Andrew: Oh the world's gonna stare up. Looking down, you'll never see me. Try the sky, cause that'll be me.

[1:07:38] Hunter: I can make them cry. I can make them sigh. Someday they'll clamor for my drammer.

[1:07:48] Bekah: Have you guessed yet? Who's the best yet?

[1:07:53] Andrew: If you ain't tell you one more time. You betch a last time in all of our world so far. I am the greatest greatest soy.

[1:08:18] Bekah: Before I even remove the video, I have to show you something.

[1:08:23] Hunter: Ooh.

[1:08:24] Bekah: Um, it's this part right here. Look at her tongue.

[1:08:30] Hunter: Wait, I clocked that too.

[1:08:32] Bekah: Why is she doing that?

[1:08:33] Hunter: I clocked that too. She's really singing.

[1:08:37] Bekah: She's singing so hard that she's going, oh my god.

[1:08:42] Andrew: I love that we're going to be able to do that. The live footage of Jay Lynch's resignation from Funny Girl on Broadway here, Smite Live. Here she is.

[1:08:57] Hunter: Yes. We saw Funny Girl with Leah Michelle. How's it compare to this?

[1:09:04] Bekah: I I liked. I I liked this, obviously, because it's a recording.

[1:09:10] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:09:11] Bekah: Um, but I did like her version of this. So, Hunter and Becca, to give you the lore behind this song, I famously think that Kurt's Kurt sings this song in season three.

[1:09:23] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:09:24] Bekah: And um, I, as an audition for Tony in West Side Story, and I go down in history as singing, that's the worst song on Glee.

[1:09:34] Andrew: Singing.

[1:09:35] Bekah: Singing.

[1:09:36] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:09:43] Bekah: Kurt's version of I Am the Greatest Star is the worst song on Glee.

[1:09:48] Andrew: So this is a very I I don't like this song in general, but you know what? I'm gonna say something, Gleeks. You know, in in Easy A, when um Emma Stone is opening that card that says, I'm a pucket, gotta puck up a lip song chime, and she hates it, but she keeps going back to it.

[1:10:09] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:10:09] Bekah: I'm a pucket, I'm a pucket, I'm a pucket. Uh that's how I feel about this song. And I'm starting, it's exposure therapy. I'm starting to enjoy it.

[1:10:22] Andrew: I I just want to further before you even add to the discourse, either of you. Um, I just want to provide further context behind this song. Um Allison said that this song is the worst song on Glee, even though the first part is actually good. And so the second part is good.

[1:10:40] Andrew: Oh, the second, sorry. The second part is actually good. And so, to which I clarified, so even half of a song is still the worst song on Glee. Mind you, I don't know if you're familiar with the musical My Fair Lady, but they do a rock cover of the song "The Rain in Spain" in season.

[1:10:51] Hunter: The rain in Spain.

[1:11:03] Bekah: I forgot about that.

[1:11:04] Andrew: Which I feel like should be frontrunner and is front runner for me at least, for worst song on Glee, but still Allison is like, yeah, 50% of a song is still like fail.

[1:11:16] Hunter: You're the absolute song. That it makes it the worst. There's no redeeming qualities.

[1:11:21] Andrew: And we respect your decision. And like that's like that's your truth. And you know.

[1:11:27] Bekah: And the first note that I wrote down was this song is good, Allison. You're just mean.

[1:11:31] Andrew: You're just mean.

[1:11:34] Bekah: You're just mean. I think that you've become like a mean person in the past, like few episodes where it's like, you're just like trying out this bit where it's like, let me just be a nasty little girl.

[1:11:46] Andrew: And does he mean.

[1:11:48] Bekah: You're being mean. This is okay song.

[1:11:51] Andrew: Did I not just say I'm starting to enjoy it?

[1:11:55] Bekah: I'm just okay. I I'm just like, I'm I'm so used to feeling this way that you have to respect this.

[1:12:02] Andrew: This is a safe space for all the Gleeks.

[1:12:04] Bekah: For the Gleeks fine. So just for clarification, do you not like the song "I'm the Greatest Star," or you don't like Kurt's version?

[1:12:12] Andrew: I don't like Kurt's version, but I also don't like the song.

[1:12:16] Bekah: Got it.

[1:12:17] Andrew: Kurt's version makes it a thousand times worse.

[1:12:20] Bekah: Okay.

[1:12:21] Andrew: But I do not just I just don't like the song in general. I did exposure therapy. I watched a lot of versions of the song. I watched the Julie Banko version. I watched Sutton Foster, I watched Barbra Streisand, I watched Lea Michele, I watched Kurt Hummel. Like I've seen it all. I've seen a lot of versions of this song, and it's the beginning. And I almost forgot it. Because by the time she gets to "they clamor for my drama," like by the time she gets there, I'm like, oh okay, we're on the we're over the hump.

[1:12:56] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:12:56] Andrew: It's the beginning where it's the silver tube. Stick around for the jokes. Like it either lands or it doesn't. There's a special kind of actor that can land that line.

[1:13:07] Bekah: Julie Banko.

[1:13:08] Andrew: Say it.

[1:13:08] Bekah: Julie Banko? Sutton Foster?

[1:13:10] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:13:11] Bekah: And Lea Michele on stage. It hit for me.

[1:13:13] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:13:14] Bekah: Okay, good.

[1:13:15] Andrew: Kurt Hummel, no. But I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna vote in I don't know what song's next, but I'm not gonna vote based on Kurt's. I'm gonna vote on Rachel's performance in this song we just watched.

[1:13:29] Bekah: I have a quick question. So "I'm the Greatest Star," Kurt's version is 666, like the worst song on Glee. Um and Rachel's version is that 665?

[1:13:43] Andrew: No, it's like I think that "The Rain in Spain" is worse than this version of the song.

[1:13:50] Bekah: Okay.

[1:13:51] Hunter: Hmm.

[1:13:52] Bekah: I love it. Should I do my own side B side podcast where I'm finding the worst song on Glee?

[1:13:58] Andrew: I think you should.

[1:13:59] Hunter: I'll sue you.

[1:14:01] Andrew: Even though the channel combined property.

[1:14:05] Hunter: Okay, Bekah, what are you thinking about "I'm the Greatest Star" Rolo version.

[1:14:09] Bekah: This is fine. I don't love Funny Girl in general. I think Funny Girl is okay. I'm like those old timing musicals like that just kind of aren't my favorite.

[1:14:19] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:14:19] Bekah: Um, obviously she's serving a vocal. Like, that can't be denied. Um, I think the yuck-yuck part of it is it is what it is. It's fine. I mean, clearly Jane Lynch hates it, and that's why she resigned before Lea Michele ever hit the stage, and that I will accept as fact, but it is funny to watch like this scene that's become such a big TikTok viral moment.

[1:14:43] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:14:44] Bekah: It's like when Lea Michele got cast, everyone said, "We're all gonna dress up as Sue Sylvester and just walk out in the middle of it."

[1:14:49] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:14:50] Bekah: Do you think people actually walked out?

[1:14:52] Andrew: I don't I don't think people walked out. Because in my head, that's just like such a lot of money you're gonna spend just to walk out.

[1:14:58] Bekah: So rude. I know that prior Gleek of the Week, Zach Faust that is famous for doing the Sue Sylvester impressions on TikTok, did attend a Funny Girl show completely dressed as Sue Sylvester.

[1:15:11] Hunter: But I saw a TikTok. I wonder if that was that person.

[1:15:14] Bekah: Yeah. I know that a few people have done it, but I don't think that they walked out. I think that would be rude.

[1:15:19] Andrew: Yeah, and then it would just be like, who is this? Like, it's kind of like it's funny in the moment, and then just a person in a Jane Lynch wig just like walking out of the theater.

[1:15:27] Bekah: Not only to leave in the middle, but also to loudly announce that you have to go and kill yourself.

[1:15:32] Andrew: Right.

[1:15:32] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:15:33] Andrew: Like, I think it's like it's like it's like a funny and idea, and then you get outside the theater, and then like you look at yourself in the reflection, be like, what the heck did I just do?

[1:15:41] Bekah: What are they doing in front of all of these people?

[1:15:43] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:15:44] Bekah: Right. I mean, like, also, like, not to make a drama, but like, I like the thing that really annoys me about Glee is that they like it's like every hour of television is completely different. And so, like, they have an hour of television where they really treat suicide very seriously. And then for like Sue to make this like flippant joke that it's like I'm going to go kill myself, that I'm like, you could you don't even know what you're doing. Like, yeah, yeah.

[1:16:09] Andrew: I remember there's like that episode where she pushes someone down the stairs.

[1:16:12] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:16:13] Andrew: And then like the next episode, she's like, bullying will not be tolerated in my school.

[1:16:17] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:16:17] Andrew: Like, didn't you just like throw sticks at someone like the previous day?

[1:16:20] Bekah: So are you saying that Sue is the problem?

[1:16:24] Andrew: No, I'm saying the writers are.

[1:16:26] Bekah: Okay. Um just to um piggyback off the Rachel versus Kurt discourse.

[1:16:32] Andrew: Okay.

[1:16:32] Bekah: Okay. I always would get annoyed at Glee when the characters would go on and on about how great Kurt was in the Glee Club.

[1:16:41] Andrew: Okay.

[1:16:42] Bekah: I don't think, like, comparatively to everyone else in the Glee Club, he was always like, it would go like Rachel Mercedes, then Kurt. Like, that's like what people would say. And I'm like, huh? I never I don't like like Tim, like cue the Tim Allen, like, oh, I never got it. I don't think he has the best voice.

[1:17:01] Andrew: Okay.

[1:17:02] Bekah: I think it's just like too high pitched for me. And when there's so many other talented people on the Glee Club, it just like I was like, I don't believe it's canon that Tina was like, well, Kurt's more talented than me.

[1:17:14] Andrew: Right.

[1:17:15] Bekah: It just doesn't track. It's like two plus two equals sock.

[1:17:19] Andrew: I do agree. I I I am afraid for you now that you've said that on record. The glisteners, they have made themselves very vocal about not a lot of Kurt Solos Kolos are going through to the next round of the Glacket. Um, and so I I just fear for you.

[1:17:36] Bekah: Like what you like. I love that you guys love Kurt if y'all are listening. It's great. Listen, I'm not gonna yuck anybody's yum.

[1:17:41] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:17:42] Bekah: Right. I'll I'll give you all the Kurt Solos on a plate.

[1:17:45] Andrew: Right.

[1:17:46] Bekah: Because then they'll be off mine and you can have them. You it's it's for you. Um any further thoughts about "I'm the Greatest Star" Rolo version.

[1:17:54] Andrew: It's the tongue for me. The tongue and then also, like I know that I brought this up before, but like the face that she makes with clump, like she just like does like it's no, she's hiding her lips. I don't know. It's like she's got new teeth in this song.

[1:18:07] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:18:05] Andrew: Like she's got new teeth and she's trying them out. And it's almost like the same thing as like "You Are Woman, I Am Man," where it's like the jokes in both songs land better on stage than they do in like a television format. I don't know.

[1:18:21] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:18:22] Andrew: I think there's like a lot with like Broadway songs in general. Like you take them off the stage, they just seem like a lot more hokey.

[1:18:27] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:18:28] Andrew: Yeah. Well, even um, "Don't Rain on My Parade" is just a bunch of words put together without the context of the show.

[1:18:34] Bekah: Yeah, yeah.

[1:18:35] Andrew: Um, I have a season three polo.

[1:18:38] Bekah: Polo.

[1:23:33] Bekah: I've always been curious.

[1:23:34] Andrew: I don't know. That's a good question. I would venture to guess that it's not in the script. I think that it's a director's um call to be like, okay, because Vanessa Lengies who plays Sugar is classically stealing spotlight in every performance that she's in, whether she's like singing or not. And so for him to go up to her and like she's just like feigning the fact that she's like fainting, and I'm like, okay, this is the best part of this performance. So I'm like, I think that they like put her in the front. Um, they had her like him singing to Rachel. Um, obviously, like the Quinn in front of Idina. I don't know.

[1:25:04] Bekah: Okay. So in season two, the episode "Duets," Brittany and Santana talk about singing a duet, "Come to My Window" by Melissa Etheridge. [1:31:12] Bekah: Why is she torn? I feel like it's not really a Rachel Berry's thing to be like torn about that.

[1:31:18] Hunter: It's not like it's uh like Warner Brothers picture.

[1:31:21] Bekah: That's what I think too. That it's kind of out of character for her to even consider it.

[1:31:26] Hunter: But I do think that this song in particular points to the growth that she's had and how she's changing.

[1:31:32] Bekah: Not in a lot of ways for the better.

[1:31:34] Hunter: Um she's almost singing in her younger self too.

[1:31:40] Bekah: I kind of felt like.

[1:31:41] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:31:42] Bekah: Like she's singing like her season one self. I think I feel like Glee did this a lot as it got later and later in the years, they would always reflect back to like season one.

[1:31:51] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:31:52] Bekah: Like always. And like Berlin.

[1:31:55] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:31:55] Bekah: Like, remember when we had it all? Like I feel like even like by season two, Rachel was like, remember my sweater vests I used to carry around or something?

[1:32:03] Hunter: Right.

[1:32:03] Bekah: And I would always be like, Y'all could have still had that, but this is y'all's decision.

[1:32:08] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:32:09] Bekah: You didn't. You live your own life. Don't remind me. I have the DVDs. I know I can watch that episode like that.

[1:32:16] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:32:16] Bekah: Literally. No. The this is a very, very vocally very good song. I do enjoy it.

[1:32:23] Hunter: My one thing that I have to add to this conversation is that freshman year of college, I did go to uh an art private art school in Chicago. And I did walk in one day, and my roommates were filming a sex scene.

[1:32:38] Bekah: Oh.

[1:32:39] Hunter: Um they were not torn about whether to participate in that.

[1:32:42] Bekah: So wait, was it was it for class or was it for their own enjoyment?

[1:32:46] Hunter: No, it was for class.

[1:32:47] Bekah: Okay.

[1:32:48] Hunter: It was for class, and they had a whole rented equipment set up. Um I do think I have a photo of them giving me the thumbs up.

[1:32:56] Bekah: Um What do you mean?

[1:32:58] Hunter: I made mac and cheese in the kitchen.

[1:32:59] Bekah: Wait. They were laying on the bed surrounded, like surrounded by cameras, and they're giving me a thumbs up.

[1:33:05] Hunter: You have a picture of them naked?

[1:33:07] Bekah: They weren't completely naked. They were topless. But they were not completely naked.

[1:33:12] Hunter: Right in front of your mac and cheese.

[1:33:13] Bekah: In front of my mac and cheese? And the entire apartment was like dark, and I'm like, why aren't any of the lights on? And I walk in and I'm like, oh.

[1:33:21] Hunter: She's doing it.

[1:33:21] Bekah: They did like a we're filming, please. They didn't even like let you know.

[1:33:25] Hunter: No.

[1:33:26] Bekah: The gag of that when Hunter and I as private Christian college was like, our student films are going to be you guys doing a scene from "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

[1:33:35] Hunter: How dare you bring that up when I'm in the car during that?

[1:33:38] Bekah: You were in the core.

[1:33:41] Hunter: That was so embarrassing.

[1:33:45] Bekah: I really actually love "Torn." I think it's so good.

[1:33:47] Hunter: For like no reason, too.

[1:33:50] Bekah: And I almost wonder. It lands. The Natalie Umbruglia of it all.

[1:33:58] Hunter: Wow.

[1:33:59] Bekah: True fan. Her one hit. I don't know.

[1:34:03] Hunter: I would venture to guess.

[1:34:04] Bekah: But um, yeah, I love this. I almost want it to be against um "Wake Me Up," another Rolo, which is like so. This is like a Rachel duet, but "Wake Me Up" is a Rachel group number where everybody singing is Rachel.

[1:34:20] Hunter: So um why are there so many of these moments?

[1:34:24] Bekah: They just love doing this.

[1:34:26] Hunter: I mean, I know Ryan Murphy loves Leah Michelle, so that is Leah Michelle was like, you're singing a duet. She's like, oh, with who? With yourself.

[1:34:35] Bekah: With yourself.

[1:34:35] Hunter: With yourself.

[1:34:36] Bekah: She's like, well, of course. Great. It's so incredible.

[1:34:39] Hunter: And I love it.

[1:34:40] Bekah: Yeah, she left the studio to do each line to get into character. Come back in.

[1:34:44] Hunter: I think it's hilarious. That there's like there's moments where the overlapping vocal is Leah Michelle. And it I think it's just hilarious. I love it. I'm obsessed.

[1:34:52] Bekah: Not to bring it back to "Candles," but the reason the um so Cassidy Pope is from Hey Monday, if you forgot.

[1:35:02] Hunter: Yeah, right.

[1:35:02] Bekah: All the Hey Monday fans. Hey. Hey. Hey Monday. Hey Monday. Hey, hey Mondays.

[1:35:09] Hunter: She auditioned with the voice with "Torn."

[1:35:13] Bekah: Really?

[1:35:13] Hunter: What?

[1:35:14] Bekah: And they would release like an official version of their audition song, like on iTunes. And I remember I was a big fan of the voice at the time. And I downloaded her version of "Torn." And so when I think of "Torn," I think of Cassidy Pope's version.

[1:35:25] Hunter: So when I think of "Torn," I also think of a uh audition, not an audition song, but a song sang on a singing competition show.

[1:35:37] Bekah: Say it with me. One Direction on "X Factor."

[1:35:42] Hunter: Who sang "Torn?"

[1:35:44] Bekah: One Direction.

[1:35:45] Hunter: The entire group.

[1:35:47] Bekah: What?

[1:35:48] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:35:48] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:35:50] Hunter: I was a hardcore directioner in that time and I have blacked that out.

[1:35:55] Bekah: Really?

[1:35:56] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:35:56] Bekah: Look it up. Who knew this song would get so much play?

[1:35:59] Hunter: Right.

[1:36:00] Bekah: Auditions. Like auditions, like, you know, duets with yourself.

[1:36:05] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:36:07] Bekah: We'll never know.

[1:36:08] Hunter: We'll never know.

[1:36:09] Bekah: Thank you, Natalie.

[1:36:12] Hunter: Everybody's like, thank you, Natalie.

[1:36:14] Bekah: Natalie. That's why she only written one hit. She was like, if everybody's just gonna keep singing my one hit, I'll collect the royalties.

[1:36:21] Hunter: Why would I write any more songs?

[1:36:22] Bekah: And sit on my couch. Multiple directions are gonna sing this. Like, I'm not torn.

[1:36:29] Hunter: Okay. Anymore.

[1:36:31] Bekah: We have the final song of the episode. I feel like this actually will be a fun competition. Um, it's a season two song.

[1:36:38] Hunter: And great.

[1:36:39] Bekah: Um, my computer is buffering, so nice. Um love that. Um I love season two. Here goes.

[1:36:50] Andrew: Do we know what's Allison? Do you know what song it is?

[1:36:51] Bekah: If you venture to guess.

[1:36:56] Hunter: Oh, is it it's not "I'm a Loser, Baby."

[1:36:59] Bekah: That's season one.

[1:37:00] Hunter: Yeah, it's not. Is it those two guys, though? Is it Puck and Finn?

[1:37:05] Bekah: I they're both here. I can't. It's "Billionaire."

[1:37:10] Hunter: Oh wanna be a billionaire. So freaking bad.

[1:37:21] Bekah: I wanna be on the Cubs drums, baby. Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen.

[1:37:32] Hunter: Oh, ever Samuel Smith. I see my name and shining light.

[1:37:42] Bekah: Yeah. A different city every night. Oh I swear.

[1:37:50] Hunter: We're about to prepare for when I'm a billionaire.

[1:37:56] Bekah: Yeah, I will have a show like Oprah. I will be the host of every day, Christmas. Give Audie a wish list.

[1:38:02] Hunter: I'll probably pull an Angelina in Brad Pitt and adopt a bunch of babies that ain't never had it. Give away a few Mercedes, like he lady have this.

[1:38:10] Bekah: And last but not least, grant somebody their last wish. It's been a couple months that I've been single, so you can call me Artie Claws, minus the ho-ho.

[1:38:19] Hunter: Get it.

[1:38:20] Bekah: I'll probably visit with Katrina here. And Don Shaw do a lot more than FEMA did.

[1:38:25] Hunter: Yeah. Can't forget about me, stupid. Everywhere I go, I might have my own thing.

[1:38:30] Bekah: Every time I close my eyes.

[1:38:33] Hunter: I want to see what you see.

[1:38:39] Bekah: Uh-huh. A different city every name.

[1:38:45] Hunter: You are well better prepared. When I'm a billionaire.

[1:38:55] Hunter: Oh, and I'm a billionaire.

[1:39:00] Bekah: Sing it for an I'm a billionaire.

[1:39:06] Hunter: Oh.

[1:39:09] Bekah: I wanna be a billionaire.

[1:39:12] Hunter: So freaking bad.

[1:39:16] Andrew: Court Overstreet gave everything he had in that performance.

[1:39:21] Bekah: The way I was about to say, all I've seen Artie do tonight is react to other people's songs.

[1:39:25] Hunter: And then he did that.

[1:39:27] Bekah: Yep, he sang the damn song.

[1:39:30] Andrew: I have a lot to say about this song, actually.

[1:39:35] Bekah: I would love for Gleeks at home to play this and then play "Girls on Film" back to back.

[1:39:42] Hunter: And you will understand the binary that is early Sam, late Sam.

[1:39:49] Bekah: Okay.

[1:39:49] Hunter: They are two different voices to me, two different characters.

[1:39:54] Bekah: Um, it is almost like a jump scare.

[1:39:58] Hunter: How different they are.

[1:40:00] Bekah: I like "Girls on Film" version of Sam way better than this version.

[1:40:06] Hunter: I always think this song is "Stereo Hearts."

[1:40:09] Bekah: It's the same artist.

[1:40:11] Hunter: Okay.

[1:40:11] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:40:13] Hunter: Same vein.

[1:40:14] Bekah: Trevi and Shroudy.

[1:40:16] Hunter: I can handle that.

[1:40:17] Bekah: I looked it up during the—because I was like convinced that this is a Bruno Mars song, but it's actually not.

[1:40:22] Hunter: It's like featuring Bruno Mars.

[1:40:24] Bekah: It's featuring Bruno Mars.

[1:40:26] Hunter: That's the thing with Travie McCoy songs.

[1:40:29] Bekah: The Travie McCoy parts don't matter.

[1:40:33] Andrew: So what are you saying about Artie?

[1:40:36] Bekah: Um, I mean, I didn't like that, but I liked it when he's like, um, do do Darn sure more than FEMA did.

[1:40:46] Hunter: Oh, I love it when they have to do the radio version.

[1:40:49] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:40:50] Hunter: Darn and it.

[1:40:52] Bekah: Ain't ever had it.

[1:40:54] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:40:54] Bekah: They're the eight o'clock slide.

[1:40:56] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:40:57] Bekah: FEMA call out.

[1:40:58] Hunter: Right.

[1:40:59] Bekah: Exactly.

[1:41:00] Hunter: I would like venture to guess like millions and millions and millions of people watched this episode because this is season two premiere, and I remember like going to homeroom because this is before I even started watching Glee, but I remember my homeroom teacher, Miss Isler, was like, she paused the entire homeroom class and was like, who watched Glee last night?

[1:41:16] Bekah: And this is before I did.

[1:41:17] Hunter: And she was like one girl, Anna Marchio, was like, um, I watched Glee. What's your question?

[1:41:22] Bekah: And she was like, she was like, the guy who sang "Billionaire" last night, was that the original artist?

[1:41:30] Hunter: He sounded like the original artist, and Anna Marchio was like, no, actually, it was a cover.

[1:41:34] Bekah: So that's what I think about every time that I see "Billionaire." It's so weird.

[1:41:38] Hunter: I think teachers loved Glee.

[1:41:41] Bekah: I kinda had the same situation where I used to be an office assistant.

[1:41:44] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:41:44] Bekah: And I would like um work there, and this woman who worked the front desk would be like, Did you watch Glee last night?

[1:41:51] Hunter: Like, yes, I did.

[1:41:52] Bekah: And we would talk about it. She was like that, Rachel and Finn.

[1:41:54] Hunter: I mean, she gave me a map.

[1:41:56] Bekah: Like she gave me like a Glee magnet once.

[1:41:59] Hunter: Oh, I love that.

[1:42:00] Bekah: So Glee like really like hit, you know, the tweens and the, you know, um faculty at high schools.

[1:42:06] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:42:07] Bekah: Um for a while.

[1:42:08] Hunter: Did they don't know if they watched it all the way through, like us?

[1:42:11] Bekah: Uh no.

[1:42:12] Hunter: They're probably better off.

[1:42:14] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:42:14] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:42:16] Bekah: Oh, yeah.

[1:42:17] Hunter: Mm-hmm.

[1:42:17] Bekah: Uh I love songs about wanting to be rich. Is that wrong?

[1:42:21] Hunter: No.

[1:42:21] Bekah: No.

[1:42:22] Hunter: I like that.

[1:42:23] Bekah: Do you like um uh "If I Was a Rich Girl"?

[1:42:26] Hunter: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

[1:42:28] Bekah: I remember I remember the first time someone showed me um Fiddler on the Roof.

[1:42:33] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:42:33] Bekah: Like the movie.

[1:42:36] Hunter: Yeah, I was like, I was like, where have I heard this song before?

[1:42:39] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:42:39] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:42:40] Bekah: Oh, that's the Gwen Stefani.

[1:42:41] Hunter: They said get out.

[1:42:42] Bekah: I had that exact moment when they took us to see uh Fiddler on the Roof, our freshman year of college, is like a requirement.

[1:42:48] Hunter: If I Was a Rich Man started and I was like, huh?

[1:42:52] Bekah: Where's it when London town?

[1:42:56] Hunter: That's all I remember.

[1:42:59] Bekah: Um the Mike Chang dancing though.

[1:43:02] Hunter: Not like Chang, more like Mike Cringe.

[1:43:05] Bekah: I cringe.

[1:43:06] Hunter: Yeah, like why are you like it?

[1:43:08] Bekah: It seems like there's too many men in that room.

[1:43:10] Hunter: Yeah, what are they doing?

[1:43:12] Bekah: John Locke is just like dancing back and forth, like Sam's playing the guitar, Puck's playing a guitar, Finn's playing the drums.

[1:43:23] Hunter: I don't think that this song needs like a boom of instruments.

[1:43:26] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:43:27] Hunter: No.

[1:43:27] Bekah: No.

[1:43:28] Hunter: Okay, another question for you guys.

[1:43:31] Bekah: What time of day do you think that is Glee Club after school?

[1:43:34] Hunter: Is it during school?

[1:43:35] Bekah: Oh god.

[1:43:36] Hunter: This is a good question.

[1:43:36] Bekah: Don't even ask.

[1:43:37] Hunter: Don't ask.

[1:43:39] Bekah: No.

[1:43:41] Hunter: Anyway.

[1:43:42] Bekah: Um what no?

[1:43:43] Hunter: It I don't know.

[1:43:44] Bekah: We we're back and forth.

[1:43:46] Hunter: What do you think?

[1:43:47] Bekah: I think that it is a class that is fifth period after lunch.

[1:43:54] Hunter: And but they also have rehearsals three days a week.

[1:43:58] Bekah: Ooh.

[1:43:59] Hunter: I like that.

[1:44:01] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:44:01] Hunter: Just because during like "Billionaire," you see people like passing in the hallway.

[1:44:06] Bekah: Right.

[1:44:06] Hunter: Right.

[1:44:07] Bekah: But like, is it this your free period?

[1:44:08] Hunter: But if it's Glee Club, where's Mercedes?

[1:44:11] Bekah: Exactly.

[1:44:12] Hunter: This is true.

[1:44:13] Bekah: I think they could just check out the choir room whenever, because Will Schuster's office is right there.

[1:44:17] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:44:18] Bekah: Right.

[1:44:18] Hunter: So they can just come in and out as they want, and Will be like, of course you can go perform in there, guys.

[1:44:23] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:44:24] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:44:25] Bekah: Cool.

[1:44:25] Hunter: Yeah.

[1:44:26] Bekah: I'm cool.

[1:44:26] Hunter: But I think you want to skip math class and sing "Billionaire," go for it.

[1:44:30] Bekah: We don't.

[1:44:30] Hunter: We really we posed this question like like a month or two ago, where it was like, hey, is this after school or like during school?

[1:44:37] Bekah: And um people really like came out of the woodwork to be at our absolute necks to be like, no, it's absolutely during school.

[1:44:44] Hunter: No, actually it's after school, and you're a goddamn idiot.

[1:44:47] Bekah: And and so like I really do feel threatened, and I don't want to actually say for sure what it is.

[1:44:53] Hunter: I do think that in typical Glee fashion, the fans are putting way more thought into it than the actual trainers are.

[1:45:00] Bekah: Right.

[1:45:00] Hunter: So definitely don't think it's after school.

[1:45:03] Bekah: I think that's going to be because I think a few people pointed to the fact that particularly in season one, there's like the conflict of like, okay, like you're gonna have to choose Glee Club over football.

[1:45:14] Hunter: And I football can't be during the school day.

[1:45:17] Bekah: Right.

[1:45:18] Hunter: No, but I think it goes back to what Allison said that it meets after school a couple times a week.

[1:45:23] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:45:23] Hunter: I think that's the safe guess that it's like it's both.

[1:45:26] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:45:27] Hunter: Yeah, it's both.

[1:45:28] Bekah: I mean, do they have any other friends?

[1:45:30] Hunter: They could just be hanging out there all the time.

[1:45:33] Bekah: They live there.

[1:45:34] Hunter: This is just their little fish bowl.

[1:45:36] Bekah: We never saw actually we never saw Tina's home, so she might actually sleep there too.

[1:45:42] Hunter: Did y'all ever have fish bowls in your high school?

[1:45:45] Bekah: Is that hit for anybody?

[1:45:47] Hunter: Like like actual fish?

[1:45:48] Bekah: No, like uh you'd go into uh it was a U shape of rooms, and then there would be a computer lab in the middle, and then there would be a room right next to the computer lab, and it was only like seven feet by seven feet, and it was glass on all four sides, and so anybody could see you all around, and we called them fishbowls.

[1:46:10] Hunter: That sounds frightening.

[1:46:11] Bekah: Yeah, yeah, definitely not.

[1:46:14] Hunter: It's like when you get in trouble, you're going in the fishbowl.

[1:46:16] Bekah: You're going to the fishbowl.

[1:46:18] Hunter: So you can think about what you've done, and we can look at you.

[1:46:21] Bekah: Laugh at you and laugh.

[1:46:25] Hunter: I like "Billionaire."

[1:46:26] Bekah: "Torn" versus a tough one.

[1:46:31] Hunter: I'm torn.

[1:46:32] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:46:32] Hunter: You're not.

[1:46:33] Bekah: Oh.

[1:46:33] Hunter: I'm solid.

[1:46:35] Bekah: I don't think I am.

[1:46:36] Hunter: I don't think I'm torn either.

[1:46:39] Bekah: Who wants to start?

[1:46:40] Hunter: I'm so scared.

[1:46:41] Bekah: Hunter, I feel like you should start.

[1:46:43] Hunter: Go.

[1:46:44] Hunter: Uh "Billionaire."

[1:46:45] Hunter: Hands down.

[1:46:48] Andrew: Not the silence.

[1:46:50] Hunter: Andrew, you go next.

[1:46:51] Andrew: No, no, no. You have your solid vote.

[1:46:52] Hunter: No, I'm wrong now.

[1:46:55] Andrew: I don't know anymore.

[1:46:59] Hunter: Oh, wait, I think I do.

[1:47:00] Andrew: It's torn.

[1:47:03] Bekah: I I'm feeling torn.

[1:47:08] Hunter: Torn is in the song, not torn on the vote.

[1:47:13] Andrew: If you're in the wrong.

[1:47:16] Bekah: But that would make us 50-50.

[1:47:18] Hunter: I think it's a good one.

[1:47:18] Bekah: What do you do when there's a tie?

[1:47:19] Hunter: When there's like, let's just do it this time.

[1:47:21] Bekah: Can we send it to the Gleeks?

[1:47:22] Hunter: We're gonna send it to the Gleeks in a vote on Instagram, the day of the release of this episode, and it's up to you, the beautiful girl reading this.

[1:47:29] Bekah: Um, is it torn or is it "Billionaire"?

[1:47:33] Hunter: I am tired.

[1:47:34] Bekah: I don't want to upset you anymore.

[1:47:36] Hunter: Please.

[1:47:40] Bekah: If I can take the brunt of it, I thought Artie's rapping was a war crime.

[1:47:44] Hunter: I hated it.

[1:47:46] Bekah: And remember that when you go to the polls.

[1:47:49] Hunter: Right.

[1:47:50] Bekah: Are you registered to vote?

[1:47:53] Hunter: Stay in line.

[1:47:54] Bekah: Tomorrow is election day.

[1:47:55] Hunter: I am going to talk about that in the Instagram post.

[1:47:58] Bekah: Stay in line.

[1:47:59] Hunter: Um okay, to wrap up, I have "Candles" not going through.

[1:48:04] Bekah: I'm the greatest star, Rachel's version going through.

[1:48:07] Hunter: And then torn, question mark.

[1:48:09] Bekah: And I have "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" slash "Head Over Feet" going through.

[1:48:13] Hunter: I'm the only one not going through.

[1:48:15] Bekah: And then billionaire, question mark?

[1:48:17] Hunter: I sort of love those.

[1:48:19] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:48:19] Hunter: I think it's like very like the song's torn, and you're gonna be torn, you know.

[1:48:24] Bekah: Exactly.

[1:48:24] Hunter: Yeah, we just yeah.

[1:48:27] Andrew: Uh Bekah and Hunter, thank you so so much for being on our podcast today.

[1:48:34] Bekah: We wrap up the episode by asking everyone the same exact question.

[1:48:39] Andrew: Um, if Glee was still on in the year of our Lord Ryan Murphy 2022, um, what are they singing?

[1:48:46] Bekah: More specifically, you can you can say whatever you want, but if you want to like sprinkle in there some Disney Channel songs, okay.

[1:48:54] Hunter: It would be appreciated.

[1:48:55] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:48:56] Bekah: Okay.

[1:48:56] Bekah: Do you want to go first?

[1:48:58] Hunter: Sure.

[1:48:58] Bekah: Um just to plug Paramour's new single "This is Why."

[1:49:01] Hunter: I would love to hear a Glee take of "This is Why," especially because it's like kind of COVID adjacent, and I know Glee would have to talk about COVID.

[1:49:09] Bekah: They just they wouldn't miss the opportunity.

[1:49:12] Hunter: Um, but in terms of Disney Channel songs, I this is me, I think would have to be on the docket.

[1:49:20] Bekah: I'm gonna say, does it have to be a relevant or like a relevant song?

[1:49:24] Hunter: No.

[1:49:25] Bekah: Okay, I'm gonna say I always maybe this is because I'm from I grew up in a southern town.

[1:49:30] Hunter: I always thought Glee didn't do enough country songs.

[1:49:33] Bekah: Is that a hot take?

[1:49:34] Hunter: No, I'm I have an entire head canon of what how they would sing country.

[1:49:39] Bekah: Okay, I think if Glee was made today, they would have done like a whole Casey Musgraves uh "Alpha Rainbow," yeah.

[1:49:48] Hunter: "Golden Hour."

[1:49:50] Bekah: Definitely like, and if Disney Channel, um, I would say, I mean, the obvious choice again, they would sing "We're All in This Together," high school musical.

[1:50:00] Hunter: Yeah, yeah.

[1:50:01] Bekah: But I think if someone wanted to do a power ballad, um, "The Climb."

[1:50:06] Hunter: Yeah, Miley Cyrus.

[1:50:08] Bekah: Whoa.

[1:50:08] Hunter: Rachel did try singing that in season one.

[1:50:11] Bekah: Um we didn't get a Gleecast version by Glee Cast.

[1:50:13] Hunter: It was not released on iTunes, and Miley Cyrus was not happy with the fact that it was taken as a joke.

[1:50:18] Bekah: We really yeah, because like it's the episode where we're like Rachel has like tonsillitis and laryngitis.

[1:50:24] Hunter: She doesn't oh yeah.

[1:50:25] Bekah: One of the Gleeks actually messaged us recently was like, I don't understand why the episode's called "Laryngitis" when Rachel literally has tonsillitis in the episode and they never actually say laryngitis in the episode, which I kind of think is hilarious.

[1:50:36] Hunter: That is weird.

[1:50:38] Bekah: Uh but yeah, she has tonsillitis and she tries singing "The Climb" and it's a joke, and Brittany vibes to it, but everybody else hates it.

[1:50:45] Hunter: Um so like Miley Cyrus was like not happy with it.

[1:50:49] Bekah: And I would I would love.

[1:50:50] Hunter: Yeah, they need a redemption moment then.

[1:50:54] Bekah: That's what the reboots were the reboot for "The Climb."

[1:50:56] Hunter: Exactly.

[1:50:57] Bekah: That's it.

[1:50:59] Hunter: I'd be putting it.

[1:50:59] Bekah: Yeah.

[1:51:02] Hunter: It's the climb.

[1:51:03] Bekah: Um, okay.
