[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.
[0:09] Andrew: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.
[0:18] Andrew: Glacket by Glacket, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.
[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
[0:35] Andrew: Oh my glad, oh my glad you guys. Looks like we're gonna do another live stream.
[0:43] Andrew: This time I'm gonna do it without the help of a friend that usually co-hosts.
[0:51] Andrew: Yes, that's right, I'm going to be selecting. We usually do. I'm usually joined, if you've been listening to any of these live stream episodes, I'm usually joined by someone else for these live stream episodes, but I knew how many Gleeks want to get on, and so, uh, instead I'm bringing on six Glatreons, Gleeks, Glisteners, all the above for these competitions today. And so, without further ado, I'm just gonna get the hell into it. So, uh, for our first competition, we have Teresa and Sam.
[1:23] Andrew: Teresa and Sam, please feel free to unmute and turn your video on. Hello, sorry, I'm a mess today.
[1:31] Teresa: Not in the slightest. Oh my god, thank you so much for being here. And Sam as well, hello.
[1:37] Sam: Hello, hi. Oh my gosh, Teresa, Sam, Sam, Teresa. This is also, hi, I'm Andrew. I'm so, so glad to finally meet y'all. Okay, so who wants to go first with these Glackit hot takes? Who wants to take the floor?
[1:53] Teresa: Okay, I can't stand silence, so I'll go. Going back to round one, and I know we talked about this, or y'all talked about it recently on an episode, um, my life would suck without you. Okay. I'm still mad about it. Losing to Sway. Yes, I don't care about Sway. Not many people do. Well, and see, I didn't really start watching Glee until season five, because I had strict parents, and they were like, you can't watch it till you're like, yeah, I don't know, in high school. So, um, but my life would suck without you. Telephone, I thought that was for sure gonna go through. Yeah, I don't know. I just...
[2:39] Andrew: Remind me again, if you are aware, what did Telephone lose to?
[2:45] Teresa: I just pulled up the Glackit to, like, remember. Someone in the chat knows for sure. Superstition.
[2:50] Andrew: Superstition won over Telephone. That one didn't do it for me.
[2:56] Teresa: Oh, I love a, I love a Mercedes, uh, vocals. Yes, I love Mercedes, but, um...
[3:03] Andrew: Wait, Sam, do you have any opinions on, on that competition, particularly, particularly Telephone versus... Telephone versus Superstition?
[3:10] Sam: Uh, neither one really does it for me, I'll be honest. I do have my life would suck without you on my list.
[3:15] Andrew: Okay. That was sick. And then I think the last big one, which I know you've heard over and over, um, mine, it's my favorite Taylor Swift album. I love Santana. I know you've heard it a million times.
[3:27] Teresa: Well, she's back. I know that you're aware. I voted for her.
[3:34] Andrew: Yeah, yeah. Well, I think that's all. That's, that's the extent of your, not a very long list.
[3:38] Teresa: Well, I forget.
[3:45] Sam: Um, so I've been, like, slowly writing them down as, like, I've thought of them. But, um, my life would suck without you for sure. I think watching it, so I watched Glee in college, and it wasn't until, like, listening to recovering Gleek that I realized, like, oh, like, for example, my life would suck without you that they were doing all the dances, right? The 13 episodes, and I was like, wait, that's actually the best thing anyone's ever done on Glee. It's very, um, so it's crazy to me that you would cut that.
[4:21] Andrew: Oh, not me. Check the tapes on that one. I did not have anything to do with that.
[4:26] Sam: Okay. Okay. Interesting. You did have something to do with Torn, I believe.
[4:32] Andrew: Um, did I? I, okay, I feel like Torn, okay, so Torn lost to Billionaire in round one, and I feel like that was an episode with the Time Machine, um, podcast, and we, we were all divided. There was, there was two guests. So Allison and I and the two hosts of that podcast, Becca and Hunter, we all, it was 50-50. So that, I think that was the one competition in round one that we put to the Instagram polls, and the, you can blame that on the Instagram Gleeks for voting Billionaire over Torn, because I feel like you can check the tapes on that one, too, Sam, because you're, you're barking up the wrong tree with me that, Torn, Torn is a constant stream in my household. Billionaire, not so much.
[5:18] Sam: Yeah, that's actually very correct. Um, I've never streamed Billionaire once at all. Um, Torn is great. The music video is great. They have, what is it, they have the reference from Take About with the hairbrush, and she's like, different, singing with herself. I think it's great. Um, speaking of Take About, um, I have, I don't care about Take About, but I do care about Uninvited.
[5:44] Andrew: Okay, Uninvited lost to the Duran Duran mashup.
[5:51] Sam: Yeah, I don't care for her. Um, there's a lot of fun, but I'm just like, you know, that's fine. Um, but I think Uninvited was great. And I think, what is it, uh, the way she's like, doing actual non-musical theater vocals versus in season one of like, Take About and Gives You Hell, where she sounds like, so eerie. I just think it's, there's a lot of growth there. I do have beef with you, and I know you're against this one.
[6:17] Andrew: Okay.
[6:22] Sam: Loser Like Me season two.
[6:28] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I am. Factually, that, you're actually correct with that one, yeah.
[6:34] Sam: That one, and I'm also correct that Loser Like Me season two is the better one.
[6:42] Andrew: You're, you're saying that your opinion on Loser Like Me season two is correct. I agree, season two of Loser Like Me is better.
[6:45] Sam: I, when I saw the season five of Loser Like Me, and they started singing it in that episode, my jaw dropped. I genuinely thought it was like,
[6:50] Sam: Okay, I'm in the minority here.
[6:54] Andrew: Wait, what, what do you hate against season five?
[6:54] Andrew: Because this can't be Basis Fun.
[6:56] Sam: The most insane, I thought it was the most insane song to slow down and have like a, like, be a reprise. Like, this is some like, genius, like,
[7:05] Andrew: No.
[7:09] Sam: dramatic ballad. I was like, No, this song is stupid and fun.
[7:13] Andrew: I'll see you when you wash my car. I think that's so stupid and so fun.
[7:19] Sam: You're, I think your opinion is wrong there.
[7:22] Andrew: Oh, okay.
[7:25] Sam: Things shut down.
[7:26] Andrew: How to be a heart. Thank you. How to be a heartbreaker. I'm, Ian worked so hard to defend that song. And I was sitting there. I was like, Yes, everything he's saying is correct. And yet somehow, no one saw his vision. Only Marina and the Diamond Song. It's, it's shot so beautifully. I think everyone in the Glackett has beef with Brody. Understandably so. But I think we need to recognize that his songs hit so hard.
[7:55] Sam: Creep. Where's justice for creep? I want justice for creep.
[7:59] Andrew: You can't say that. When also, Teresa, feel free to step in and tell Sam that he's wrong about any of this.
[8:07] Teresa: Whenever you like creep, but I don't like creep that song in general because my boyfriend plays it all the time. So I, I don't have anything against creep.
[8:17] Andrew: However, the competition in round one that it lost to was home. We're talking about an at the April low version.
[8:23] Sam: Okay, I was like, no, no, no, no. We're talking about the Wiz.
[8:31] Andrew: Okay, then that's definitely deserves to be bad.
[8:34] Sam: Over creep, Sam, you're, you're looking around. Unsure.
[8:39] Andrew: I'm keeping silent. That was what from season four, season five.
[8:44] Sam: Previous season four. Creep, yeah.
[8:46] Andrew: Okay, so that's when I was watching, like, I was really invested in Glee by then. And I don't, I just don't remember creep being that good, you know, compared to other numbers.
[8:58] Sam: So I honestly think creep might be my favorite song and performance from the hip hop show Glee.
[9:05] Andrew: No, really?
[9:07] Sam: Really?
[9:08] Andrew: Have you considered looking at a list?
[9:10] Sam: Yeah. Like, there are a lot of better ones.
[9:15] Andrew: I think it's Paradise by the Dashboard.
[9:20] Sam: Are like, doing this for number one spot. I just the amount of times I've listened to creep, and just like the harmonies between Rachel and Brody, there's something in there that like, like, Rachel, Brody, Ryan Murphy, I've received your message and I'm on my way. Like, it's just it's hitting in my head. I don't know what to tell you.
[9:43] Andrew: Wow. I will say in creep's favor, I know that a lot of people like how to be a heartbreaker. I feel as though creep is the number one broachel. That's the that's the praises that I will sing for creep.
[9:58] Sam: Received?
[9:58] Andrew: I'll take that.
[9:59] Sam: Okay.
[10:00] Andrew: I will, I will, I will receive that. I do agree with you for I told you this, I message you this, I didn't get Poker Face at first. And then you talked about it. And then I listened to it just
[10:13] Sam: it's a Nicki Minaj thing where it's like that the first time you listen to it, you're not going to get it. And then a few more times.
[10:23] Andrew: No, and I was listening to it. I was like, wait, no, this they're they're cooking. There's something here where it's like, it shouldn't work. It really does. And watching it too. You're like, this is insane. But like, it's funny. And it's like, that to me is like a slow it down. And it's funny. Type. Type B. That doesn't work for me for loser like me. But anyway,
[10:45] Sam: the season five, to be clear, you you hate you hate her. Are you saying hate?
[10:52] Andrew: I am saying hate.
[10:56] Sam: Tracy's like, Oh, don't
[10:58] Andrew: I mean, I prefer season two. Season five is good.
[11:01] Sam: We can all say it. We hate season five loser like me.
[11:04] Andrew: Who's we? No, no. Okay, the season five version. We're looking at what what is that that quartet name? Like a blam?
[11:12] Sam: A blam?
[11:18] Andrew: Tina already?
[11:19] Sam: Blam tardy? Is that it?
[11:25] Andrew: But I think that's getting rid of Tina. Who does supply blam tardy?
[11:30] Sam: Blam? Oh, blam tardy. Yes. Okay. Yeah. No, that does include everybody. And it's beautiful.
[11:35] Andrew: Everybody has like a moment to shine on that song. It's really like consider it you came around with poker face. I think maybe in time, loser like me sees five.
[11:39] Sam: And I just what about season two doesn't get you like, they're at what is it set regional?
[11:48] Andrew: Yeah. And the performance just doesn't do it for you. It's like stupid. It's fun.
[11:56] Sam: It's been a while since I've listened, or that I've watched.
[11:59] Andrew: What I can recall from this performance is that it's like a little bit like to, it's like, I feel like I've been really pushing this phrase into the ground. It's like a little bit too much Glee porn, where it's like, it's just like the idea of Glee. It's just like, what's actually going on here? It doesn't have like the irreverence. It's like missing. It's missing an ingredient. Do you know what I mean?
[12:22] Sam: I know what you mean.
[12:26] Andrew: So I know what you mean by Glee porn. And I've agreed with all of your takes on what it is in the past, like few podcast episodes. I do think loser like me, for me, is Glee's theme song. Like, yeah, they wrote it. We were like, this is our I don't even know what you call that, like, not their magnum opus. But like, they're like, if you were to bottle Glee, this is what that song would be more so than Don't Stop Believing.
[12:53] Sam: Yes. Because I think, loser, I think Don't Stop Believing.
[12:59] Andrew: Okay, actually, there are two sides of Glee. There's the comedy, like, ironic side. And then there's the like, serious, like, heartfelt side. I think that's Don't Stop Believing. And I think that's loser like me.
[13:05] Sam: Oh, okay. So it's like the two, the two like actor masks where it's like the one is happy, one is sad.
[13:10] Andrew: Yes. And so they're, they complete each, they're two sides of the same coin.
[13:19] Sam: Yes. Don't Stop Believing is the oh, this show is so like heartfelt. And there's such a deeper message here. And loser like me is like, oh, it's a show about losers who like, think this all matters when actually they're just kids in high school. And it's just funny.
[13:35] Andrew: Okay. I'll re-approach it. In your honor, I will, I will feature it. I will say that, you know, I don't know if you recall what it lost to in round one. But it is salt in the well for sure. Do you?
[14:00] Sam: Okay. Um, because it was be okay, the Pesbary duet from the 100th episode, which I don't know if y'all know this, but it's seeing round three of the Glackett somehow.
[14:08] Andrew: Really? What did it be?
[14:14] Sam: So it be loser like me season two, and also a round two. And then in round two at one like against like Highway to Hell.
[14:20] Andrew: Yes. Oh, I liked Highway to Hell. Highway to Hell is Highway.
[14:17] Andrew: It was much shorter than you imagine, whereas with "Be Okay," it's home to a lot of very cute moments. There is some sort of awkwardness in the air between these two beautiful actresses, but they're doing some really fun stuff, like Naiah especially. She's counting the notes, the same thing that she does in "Gloria." In the air, she's pointing at them. I just— I like it.
[14:45] Guest: That's fair. I actually, I do think I like that number. I think that number upsets me because the song is good, but Santana's resolution of that plotline is insane. I do imagine that "Be Okay" has to be on its final leg. It can't keep on getting late with this, I would assume, but I don't know. We'll see. "Be Okay," for me, has the same energy as that song, and y'all might kill me, as the song they sing when they're at the Six Flags, or no, not Six Flags, because he's in a wheelchair. It gets the same energy. It's fun, but it's nothing spectacular. It's commercial.
[15:29] Andrew: Not too much on "Up, Up, Up." Let's just be clear, that's a great song.
[15:35] Guest: Oh no, I like it. They're fun.
[15:37] Andrew: Okay, Gleeks to buy it. Okay, just checking in here. Is "Up, Up, Up" still in?
[15:44] Guest: "Up, Up, Up" lost in the Jenna and Kevin episode. What did it lose against—
[15:49] Andrew: Oh, what did it lose against? Do we know in the chat?
[15:53] Guest: I think it was something really good, but I can't remember.
[15:56] Andrew: I feel like it— because I know "Up, Up, Up" is cute to me.
[16:00] Guest: It is. I like it. It's very fun.
[16:03] Andrew: Wait, no one in the chat is providing— oh, I still haven't found what I'm looking for, and so we're okay now? Sam? Or no?
[16:13] Guest: I'll think about it.
[16:16] Andrew: You're choosing "Up, Up, Up" over "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."
[16:21] Guest: I'll think about it. I'm forgetting what song that is.
[16:24] Andrew: I remember the peppy songs better.
[16:26] Guest: Um, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."
[16:28] Andrew: Yeah, go ahead, Sam.
[16:30] Guest: Oh, it's Nationals season five, the Finn tribute, which I do think— so I'm a big fan of when shows with like a huge ensemble put together two characters who like have never spoken. And so when Quinn started hanging out with Artie for that singular episode of "Glee," I was like, wait, this is so fun. It's like when Quinn started being friends with Mercedes in season one. We all remember that, right?
[17:03] Andrew: I don't— can you refresh my memory? I don't remember those two characters ever talking.
[17:09] Guest: Yeah, yeah, neither do the writers, unfortunately. She definitely wasn't there when she gave birth to her baby, because she also wasn't living with her or anything.
[17:16] Andrew: No.
[17:18] Guest: Well, it could have been. Anyway. But yeah, I agree. I think that these, uh, these Quinn friendships, these Quinn-ships, you know, just go right down the drain, unfortunately. Miss you so much, all of you.
[17:33] Andrew: Um, wait, so are there any other hot takes, anything that we would like to add before we get into the competition?
[17:42] Guest: Um, two things. One, I think, was it Allison who's really into "What It Feels Like for a Girl"?
[17:50] Andrew: Yes.
[17:51] Guest: I agree with her, and I want her to know that she's right. And then "Bitch" versus "Outcasts." "Outcasts" lost, thankfully, but Truly, which I think— someone said this in your last episode, but the moment where you were debating which would go home, I was— lord, the idea that "Bitch" and "Outcasts" are ever on the same level, when one is so bad, and one is really iconic, pretty good, in my opinion. I was just— I was losing my mind.
[18:26] Andrew: I completely agree. I think "Bitch" is so much better, and maybe it's because I watched season six live, so it's nostalgic. But I preferred "Bitch." But that's just me.
[18:39] Guest: Okay, there's— okay, like, what? Is it only Ryan in the chat?
[18:44] Andrew: Yeah, okay, Joey as well. They're— they're seeing me. I do feel seen. I know that, like, a lot of people agree with y'all, and you can have that. But we're the Outcasts in this scenario, and I think that, like, you just don't get it yet. It's another— it's like another thing. It will just, like, age better with time. You'll get it eventually, like I did.
[19:04] Andrew: Yeah, you're not gonna get it on the first listen, like—
[19:06] Guest: You're not gonna get it on the first listen.
[19:07] Andrew: Okay. Like, it was in the middle of a recording when I was, like, watching it, and, like, this is a performance that I've probably seen, like, upwards of 20 times over the course of my life. And those first 19 times, didn't get it. 20th time in a Galactic recording, it's like, oh, no, you make sense to me now.
[19:26] Guest: You guys are being too serious.
[19:27] Andrew: Okay. I think I've only watched it, like, five times.
[19:31] Guest: So I guess 15 more times.
[19:34] Andrew: It's— it's great. Marlee was so real when— in "Shooting Star." She was like, actually, I'm— I'm cooking up some— some really great content. Go to my bedroom drawer. You're gonna find some bops in there. And at first, I didn't believe her. But now, I'm— I see the vision.
[19:51] Guest: Um, okay. So I'm scared based on the last episode. Do we have any thoughts on those Rollos that happened in the last episode?
[20:01] Andrew: So I'm halfway through listening to it. Um, I agree with the first round pick. I— I would have picked "Don't Rain on My Parade" as well, personally. But I'm a big musical theater girl. So I'm always gonna lean towards the musical theater. Even if it's bad. That's why I wanted "Cell Block Tango." Even if it's in a problematic scene, I'm always gonna go towards the musical theater.
[20:25] Guest: You're always.
[20:26] Andrew: There's no exception.
[20:27] Guest: Not always.
[20:27] Andrew: Okay, okay. Because I don't— okay. If it's good.
[20:31] Guest: Because, like, there was one. We're talking about—
[20:35] Andrew: "Popular."
[20:35] Guest: "Popular's" not good.
[20:37] Andrew: It's not.
[20:37] Guest: It's bad.
[20:38] Andrew: But.
[20:39] Guest: Okay.
[20:40] Andrew: Sam, you're gonna need to communicate that look. Because that was a shocked face.
[20:47] Guest: I— okay. I've only seen "Glee" all the way through once. And so I don't remember—
[20:54] Andrew: And I've only, like, gotten through, like, halfway through season two. Or, like, two-thirds on my second watch. So I don't remember "Popular" too well.
[21:02] Guest: But I remember loving it. I was like— I remember loving everything about 2009 except for the Mercedes stuff. I was like, this is all great. This is so beautiful. Why are they justifying Mercedes being put in the background for the whole show? I don't really get that. But everything else loved it, including "Popular." But I don't know. I don't remember it enough to defend it hard.
[21:31] Andrew: Okay. All right. I will co-sign the Mercedes entire plot in the episode. Really wild. It doesn't sit right with me. I am watching it, and I'm like, you guys are trying to convince me something about this character that I refuse to believe. It's crazy. And her own mother. Her own mother being used to justify, maybe this other girl needs it more. Like, showing up at the final hour, and it's like, yeah, I wanted to see Mercedes's mom the entire fucking series. And now you finally show up. And it's like, oh, actually, go away. You can go away again. It was crazy.
[22:08] Guest: I'm not crazy about your opinion about your own daughter.
[22:12] Andrew: Okay. So what are we manifesting today? Are there any Blaine numbers left? Because I'm basic. I think that Blaine, Audrey, two episodes ago, revealed to me that there are no Blaine.
[22:26] Guest: I think no solos or duets.
[22:30] Andrew: So we're okay. But he's doing really well.
[22:32] Guest: Oh, I know he's doing really well. He better be doing well. Blaine, Mercedes, Santana, you know, all the basics. Maybe a musical theater song. I don't know if there's any left, but.
[22:46] Andrew: I mean, I'm seeing someone in the chat right now, Jacqueline, bringing up "Pretty Unpretty." That's half musical theater. Is that still in?
[22:52] Guest: It's still around. I'm not in season, I mean, not season three, round three yet?
[22:57] Andrew: No.
[22:57] Guest: Well, I mean, yet to be pulled.
[22:59] Andrew: Oh, I would be okay with that. I'm scared for her, though. Um, she's coming through with me. I will say "Pretty Unpretty." Actually, okay. It might be "Pretty Unpretty" in "Paradise," fighting it out for me, and then "Creep." I will say season one, round one, when you pulled "Pretty Unpretty," and then you pulled—
[23:28] Guest: "Faithfully."
[23:28] Andrew: What's that other one?
[23:30] Guest: "Faithfully."
[23:31] Andrew: I was like, so this isn't a hard competition. Um, I was like, why are they stressing? It's "Pretty Unpretty," right?
[23:38] Guest: That was the overall consensus.
[23:40] Andrew: Yeah. But I, you don't see, you don't see "Faithfully" like that?
[23:44] Guest: I, I, hold on. Sorry, I'm responding to a comment where I've been told to shut my dirty mouth. But I, literally, when you pulled "Faithfully," I was like, what song is that? And I waited to listen to it. And then I was like, when is this? After I heard it, I had no memory of "Faithfully." But okay, actually, to be fair, when I first watched "Glee," so I started watching it in college, and I watched season one. I didn't get it. I stopped. And a friend had to convince me, like, a year later to keep going. And now I'm a bleak. And here you are. I went on the sketching website to watch "Glee" as a kid. So I needed an end in my life.
[24:35] Andrew: Um, wait, so we're manifesting musical theater. Anything beyond that? Anything specific that you would really love to destroy or send through?
[24:45] Guest: Fun songs. I would love to send through a fun song. Love those.
[24:50] Andrew: Okay. Maybe destroy some. There's some slow songs that I don't care for. I don't know if there are any left. But if they're boring, I'm sort of like, why are you here? Go away.
[25:00] Guest: It's crazy to me. "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee." Reprise is still, is still around.
[25:04] Andrew: And Sam—
[25:09] Guest: It was against something dumb, right?
[25:12] Andrew: You know, that is a competition that I, I don't know how I voted. But it's competition in round one was against "Somewhere," the Rachel and Shelby duet. And I don't know, I feel like I might have voted for, um, "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee." But I don't know why. Because I like "Somewhere" a lot. But that's a boring song.
[25:36] Guest: "Somewhere" like West Side Story?
[25:37] Andrew: West Side Story.
[25:39] Guest: Yeah. Alrighty. Anything else that we would like to add before we find out what song number one is?
[25:47] Andrew: Let's do it.
[25:48] Guest: Let's do it.
[25:49] Andrew: Okay, perfect. Well, here we go. The cup's really light these days.
[25:54] Guest: Ooh.
[25:57] Andrew: Okay, very, very fun. Not everybody gets her. This is an episode about exploring taste. Um, because I know that people really don't understand her. She's very short. Wait, I'm excited. Audio medium, we're looking at the new directions. They're at a competition. Do we have any idea what this is?
[26:17] Guest: This is season two.
[26:19] Andrew: Season two. Okay, because I see Lauren's, I see, um—
[26:22] Guest: People in the chat are correct. I don't want to point you in that direction. But, um, wait, is this "Light Up The World"?
[26:29] Andrew: No.
[26:31] Guest: Okay.
[26:33] Andrew: It is. Are you ready for the reveal?
[26:35] Guest: Uh-huh.
[26:36] Andrew: It is. Yeah. One, two, three. New York, yeah!
[26:54] Guest: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm in the club with my homies. Trying to get a little V.I. Keep it down on the low key. They're really cute. Cause you know how it is. They're good. I saw the shoulder she was checking up on me. From the game she was spitting in my ear. You would think that she knew me. I decided to chill. Conversation got heavy. She had me feeling like she's ready to blow. Watch out. Oh. Watch out. She was saying, come get me. So I got up and followed her to the floor. She said, baby, let's go. When I told her I'd say.
[27:36] Andrew: Okay, so I kept this in because you could still hear them in the background. This thing where I get my kids to sign a t-shirt to send to all the teams we beat at nationals.
[27:40] Guest: Yeah, but don't bother getting us one. I have a sneaking suspicion that we're about to kick your ass. You're about to go up against the top show choirs in the country. And your team spent all week mooning about how fun and exciting New York is. You're a bag of meat. Take a large. You're about large, right? Extra large. What are you doing? Buying you a t-shirt, Goolsby. I'll send it to you after we win nationals.
[28:06] Andrew: Okay, so that was incredible to me. First of all.
[28:12] Guest: Wait, what? What did you say, Sam?
[28:15] Andrew: First of all.
[28:35] Unknown speaker: Zanadu, you understand. I mean, I just, I know that has nothing to do with the song, but I love him.
[28:41] Unknown speaker: Sorry. It's pulling weight for you, clearly.
[28:42] Unknown speaker: Oh, it is. I love him.
[28:45] Unknown speaker: Um, wait, Sam, what are you thinking?
[28:47] Sam: Um, I thought, Willen, uh, what's his name, Dustin? Uh, they did, I'm seeing some people are saying this, um, in the chat, uh, but they were flirting, or there was something there. Him touching his chin, I was like, maybe? Him, like, touching his chin, I was like, whoa. Whoa, that was crazy. Um, in terms of the song, I've heard you and others mention that it's kind of weird, the, like, they're doing, like, the juxtaposition of, like, the song with, like, the way they're all singing it, and I never got that because I've only seen that song once. Watching it now, I was like, oh, wow, this is, like, insane, the process. Um, if that makes sense, just they're singing it in a very, like, I don't know, like, like, proper, like, choir, like, angelic type way. I don't know.
[29:46] Sam: I think that this Glee Club's canonical name, I don't know if this is actually confirmed. I feel like it's only based off of, like, the list at the end of the episode, where it's like, here are the teams that made it. And so I think that it was, like, process of elimination, that we can assume one of the choir's names was Singers With Wit Attitude. And so I feel like people, you know, just gave that name to this Glee Club. I really love it. I think it's really great. I think it worked for me. I remember, like, this was a heavy stream. I feel like it came up randomly in a shuffle in, like, 2017. And I heard it through. And I went through a very big, long phase with just, like, hey, guys, listen to this.
And I would force upon this song to people at parties. I don't think they got it. But I did. I understand it. And it means a lot to me. That's all that matters. It was fine for me. I enjoyed her. Yeah, I enjoyed her. I liked her. I think I was just like, this is kind of just not what I was expecting from the times that I've read it. I was like, oh, well.
[31:01] Unknown speaker: What were you expecting?
[31:01] Sam: I was expecting more of the vibe of that one school that... I don't remember who's in charge of it. Oh, Eve.
[31:10] Unknown speaker: Yeah, that one school that Eve's in charge of. I was expecting more of that vibe. And I was like, oh, well, this would work for the song and, like, make it look good as well. But I don't know, their dresses, like the long flowy white gowns with the dance moves. I was kind of like, you're almost there. Like, this could be a hit. I don't know.
[31:31] Teresa: So I've seen Glee probably four or five times all the way through. I do not remember the song because I have a horrible memory. But watching it, that was really fun. I enjoyed it. Like, I'm probably gonna go stream it. And I've never streamed it.
[31:49] Unknown speaker: I mean, they have the entire song for your listening pleasure. Yes.
[31:54] Teresa: I liked it. I liked the Mercedes part where the camper. Like, they're really good. Yeah.
[32:02] Unknown speaker: They're not. It was good. But like, as someone in the comments was saying, it's very much a Barton Bellas. Yes. Big energy. It's really fun to me. I feel like this every time I watch this performance or listen to the song, I am reminded that like this song walked. So the Barton Bellas could run like this was like, this was the impetus. Like Kate Cannon watched this and was like, actually, I'm gonna write a script. And it's gonna be called Pitch Perfect. And it's gonna be a big hit. Because like it's like because Anna Kendrick, like does this bit of just like rapping in almost like every single Pitch Perfect song, Pitch Perfect movie. And I feel like outside of Pitch Perfect as well. She really has cornered that market of white girl rapping that I feel, you know, yeah, the singers with attitude have have really set the tone for Anna Kendrick. So I love them so much.
[33:01] Unknown speaker: I agree with that.
[33:04] Unknown speaker: I have things that I need to share about this song. Every time that I watch this performance, I'm reminded of the there was a YouTube video of just this performance on YouTube. And the top comment was, that is my the the girl with the blonde hair is my cousin. And I remember being like star studded. I'm like, Oh my god, wow, this commenter's cousin. That's so crazy. And so that's what comes to mind. And yeah, I see a lot of people in the comments, dragging their dresses. And yes, they look like they're like, kind of like, Greek party inspired. Yeah. But in the time, what was this? 2010? 2011? 11? Yeah.
[33:47] Unknown speaker: Oh, I would have. That was the dress for the middle school dance. People need to understand that.
[33:52] Unknown speaker: For the time, those dresses were iconic. They're not anymore. I mean, they still are. But in the time, that's what every girl was wearing to middle school dances.
[34:02] Unknown speaker: So yeah, and we need to understand that when it comes to voting, we need to understand that this is a period piece. People are scared in the comments there. I think that they're scared that this song is going to go through based on this competition alone. I mean, conversation alone.
[34:19] Unknown speaker: Well, you never know what could be pulled. There's a lot of heavy hitters.
[34:22] Unknown speaker: That's true. Yeah. So I'm okay with setting it to bed, but I do want the best for it. I do think that the conversation at the end does weigh it down considerably for me.
[34:32] Unknown speaker: That's true.
[34:34] Unknown speaker: So, all right. Well, any final points before song number two?
[34:41] Unknown speaker: Crush is not still in, right?
[34:43] Unknown speaker: Crush is still in.
[34:44] Unknown speaker: Crush is in round three.
[34:47] Unknown speaker: It's in round three. Okay. When you said she's short and not a lot of people get her, I was like, oh my God, I'm so excited. It's Crush. I get her. I get Crush.
[34:57] Unknown speaker: She's the short girl that you don't understand.
[35:00] Unknown speaker: When you were defending her in the Glacier, I was like, no need to even explain yourself. Like, just send her to round three. Like, we already know she's a top contender.
[35:07] Unknown speaker: Right. We don't need to have this conversation. She's safe in my eyes.
[35:11] Unknown speaker: We don't.
[35:12] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[35:12] Unknown speaker: Exactly. Exactly.
[35:13] Unknown speaker: Um, all right. Well, here we go. I like want, like, wait, I'm going to, I don't even want to say it.
[35:19] Unknown speaker: I don't want to admit.
[35:20] Unknown speaker: And I'm afraid that's exactly what you get.
[35:24] Unknown speaker: Dang it!
[35:26] Unknown speaker: Oh, wow.
[35:30] Unknown speaker: This, I, I mentioned her at the beginning when you said, um, that you didn't want a boring song. And I brought up this exact song.
[35:41] Unknown speaker: I'm sick.
[35:42] Unknown speaker: You should be.
[35:43] Unknown speaker: It's really, it's crazy. I don't like competitions like this, because there are too many things at stake.
[35:49] Unknown speaker: Here we go.
[35:53] Unknown speaker: Boom! It is Sandra Day.
[35:54] Unknown speaker: Here we go.
[35:56] Unknown speaker: I wanted to.
[35:58] Unknown speaker: I'm so sorry, but the Glacier just works like this sometimes.
[36:02] Unknown speaker: I know.
[36:03] Unknown speaker: Here we go.
[36:03] Unknown speaker: Look at me. There has to be something more.
[36:09] Unknown speaker: And then Take a Bow has to go home, but this gets.
[36:11] Unknown speaker: Right.
[36:42] Unknown speaker: I feel like I talked a little bit too much about this one.
[37:10] Unknown speaker: Um, Jake looks really good in this jacket.
[37:15] Unknown speaker: Wait, Teresa, are you, are you not hearing the same vocals that I just heard?
[37:21] Teresa: I mean, she sounds amazing. She's the perfect Sandy, but, um.
[37:27] Unknown speaker: It's a little bit snoozy. I get it.
[37:29] Teresa: I love musicals. And if it was the original.
[37:30] Unknown speaker: You did ask for a musical.
[37:34] Teresa: Which I believe, I did ask for a musical. Um, I believe the original with Kitty is out. So that one would have beat this, but this one is just.
[37:44] Unknown speaker: And I have the Gleese soundtrack, like on CD.
[37:46] Teresa: And this one's just. I love that you have to prove yourself as a Gleese.
[37:50] Unknown speaker: I have it.
[37:51] Unknown speaker: I have it.
[37:52] Unknown speaker: So I have the Gleese CD.
[37:55] Teresa: Um, and this one, I just, it's a skip for me.
[38:00] Unknown speaker: Is this the skip?
[38:01] Unknown speaker: This can't be the skip of the Gleese soundtrack, is it?
[38:05] Teresa: Oh, for me, it's Grease Lightning.
[38:08] Unknown speaker: I'm sorry.
[38:08] Unknown speaker: I know that people like that.
[38:09] Unknown speaker: Oh, I love Grease Lightning.
[38:11] Unknown speaker: Because that's, that's Sam, right?
[38:13] Unknown speaker: I love Sam.
[38:14] Unknown speaker: I just think that's just like for a completely different demographic than myself.
[38:18] Sam: So I did not like a lot of seasons four and five with the newbies. They did not, they never hit for me. Season six newbies did. Um, but yeah, I just never, I never got the season four newbies thing except for Unique. And then she was like in the background and I was like, she's the only one I liked. Um, so yeah, the Gleese stuff. I was just sort of like, I'd rather we focus on anything else.
[39:01] Unknown speaker: Um, oh, I'm getting booed.
[39:04] Sam: Okay, I'll take that.
[39:06] Sam: That empowers you further.
[39:10] Unknown speaker: Um, but yeah, I just didn't get them. And I didn't get any of the Gleese stuff. And I, this storyline really made me like, oh, oh my God. Um, and then once again, it's just, hey, let's have a character do bad things. And then never have them apologize. And I was like, oh, that's how we're ending, uh, the Bulimia storyline. Okay, great. I guess we're moving on.
[39:41] Unknown speaker: She does.
[39:41] Unknown speaker: I need to like, as, I don't even want to, I don't even want to make a joke. Like, am I Kitty Wilde's lawyer? No, but like, I do, I do, we do have the receipts of her apologizing in Shooting Star. We do like, she does confess to Marley about what she did during the production of Grease. And it is a really bad apology. Sure. I just want to present that to you.
[40:08] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[40:08] Unknown speaker: And that's fair.
[40:09] Unknown speaker: That's fair.
[40:10] Unknown speaker: The one they cut is great.
[40:12] Unknown speaker: The one they cut is like, actually a really good apology scene. Um, this one, it just felt like they were sort of like, oh, we still haven't brought that up, have we? Maybe we could just squeeze it into this episode. Maybe we could put it in the school shooting episode. Yeah, so just forgive her. Cause it's like, oh, there's worse things to be worried about right now.
[40:30] Unknown speaker: Right.
[40:31] Unknown speaker: Then we'll never talk about it again.
[40:33] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[40:33] Unknown speaker: And Marley's like, it's okay, it's okay. I have a songbook in my drawer. It's okay, Kitty. Oh my God. I'm about to write Outcast. So this is actually really good for me.
[40:43] Unknown speaker: This is actually perfect.
[40:44] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[40:46] Unknown speaker: She's just like Quinn, causing Rachel to write Do It Right.
[40:51] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[40:51] Unknown speaker: No, Get It Right, when she's like, you will never, ever get it right. Um, that's all she needed to hear.
[40:57] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[40:58] Unknown speaker: That is great.
[40:59] Unknown speaker: Um, yeah, I don't have a lot of positive things to say about the song, but love.
[41:06] Unknown speaker: I love Glee.
[41:09] Unknown speaker: Oh, not anything specifically about this performance, just like general.
[41:15] Unknown speaker: I do love Glee.
[41:17] Unknown speaker: She sounds really good.
[41:20] Unknown speaker: Like, she's good.
[41:21] Unknown speaker: Like, to my ears, she sounds good.
[41:24] Unknown speaker: For this song, she sounds good.
[41:26] Unknown speaker: I just am not a big fan of this song.
[41:30] Unknown speaker: You know, in general, like, when I watched Grease Live, Skip, the movie Skip. I will say that, like, they Skip, they, they, they, um, don't do a lot of Grease songs that are like, kind of like, there. Like, We Go Together feels like, oh, well, obviously they would do that. And then they were like, actually, no, that's untouched. And then what's another one? Um, oh, I love, like, what is the, like, the opening in Grease Live that Grease is the word?
[42:00] Unknown speaker: Grease is the word?
[42:01] Unknown speaker: Like, that is a fun song.
[42:03] Unknown speaker: Yeah, but it's not in the original musical.
[42:06] Unknown speaker: It was added for the movie.
[42:07] Unknown speaker: Oh.
[42:08] Unknown speaker: That could be why.
[42:08] Unknown speaker: Same with We Go Together.
[42:11] Unknown speaker: Okay.
[42:12] Unknown speaker: Oh, wait, We Go Together isn't in the stage?
[42:16] Unknown speaker: Well, it might have been added, but I don't think it was in the original stage.
[42:20] Unknown speaker: I could be wrong.
[42:21] Unknown speaker: I could be thinking of something else.
[42:24] Unknown speaker: No, I could be totally making shit up. I can't remember. I know Grease, Lightning.
[42:29] Unknown speaker: I mean, not Grease. Grease is the word isn't because they added it for Frankie Valli. It's the same beginning.
[42:36] Unknown speaker: Um, I really don't have too many things to say about Look at Me. I'm Sandra Day Reprise. Reprise? Um, I did, like, she sounds beautiful. I do love when she walks by Santana getting ready to be Rizzo.
[42:52] Andrew: That's very special to me. Um, but yeah, this is a hard competition. Do we have anything else to add before we start voting?
[42:59] Guest 1: No, I'm just frustrated that one of these songs are going through. I mean, they're, it's, yeah, it's a bop. But the fact that "Take About" isn't getting a place in round three.
[43:12] Guest 2: You bring up "Take About." I'm thinking about "It's All Coming Back to Me Now." I mean, I have a very different opinion than a lot of songs y'all love that I'm just like, okay, y'all do you?
[43:34] Guest 1: Wait, what you're talking about? "It's All Coming Back to Me Now."
[43:38] Guest 2: No, this is a different song that y'all are all obsessed with that I just think is okay. But do you want to name her?
[43:43] Guest 1: It's good, but I don't get it.
[43:48] Guest 2: That's why I was trying to not say it.
[43:59] Andrew: Wow. That's crazy, Teresa. I didn't know it was like that.
[44:04] Guest 1: Speaking truth.
[44:07] Guest 2: I think I know.
[44:10] Andrew: Huh. Wow. So you're gonna draw another song?
[44:15] Guest 1: So where do we go from here?
[44:20] Guest 2: It's a good thing I'm not on that episode.
[44:24] Andrew: In terms of this competition, I feel like I need to, while I'm tempted to go with "Sandra Dee," for sure. I think she sounds beautiful. I need to make my younger self happy and vote for "Yeah." I think that "Yeah" is so gorgeous. And I need to stand up for her.
[44:48] Guest 1: So I'm casting that first vote for "Yeah."
[44:50] Guest 2: I'm going for "Yeah" as well.
[44:54] Guest 1: I'm also going for "Yeah."
[44:56] Andrew: Okay. So if I'm hearing this correctly, it's "Yeah" times three.
[45:02] Guest 2: Wow.
[45:04] Guest 1: Boo! Tomatoes, tomatoes.
[45:10] Andrew: No, you have to say that.
[45:12] Guest 2: Wow, that was such a tragic competition. I'm sorry that that was the competition that you received.
[45:19] Guest 1: Yeah, it's still great. It's still great. I think you did manifest not the best song for us.
[45:29] Andrew: You know, that's on me.
[45:30] Guest 2: That's live.
[45:31] Andrew: That's on Andrew. And I'll remember that forever. But you know, that's life. Sometimes somebody manifests "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee" with friends.
[45:41] Guest 1: Yeah. Is there anything else that we would like to end y'all's segment?
[45:48] Guest 2: Do we want to go on a high note? Is there anything positive that we can say just in general?
[45:53] Guest 1: I really want "Pretty Unpretty" to win. Not win, but go to round three. And I'm hoping that'll be pulled soon so I can feel safe. So maybe that's a high note. Maybe that's something positive.
[46:06] Sam: Do you have anything nice to say?
[46:08] Guest 2: Yes, I think.
[46:12] Guest 1: What was I going to say? Oh, I think I would love for any Gleeks listening, if you are invested in science or STEM engineering, build a time machine. Go back in time.
[46:29] Guest 2: Gleeks and STEM.
[46:30] Guest 1: And get "How To Be A Heartbreaker" back on the clock. I think that is very important to me and "Creep." Justice for Brody songs. And go back in time, Gleeks and STEM. I'm seeing them in the comments. You're out in the comments.
[46:47] Guest 2: Are you saying Geeks and STEM?
[46:49] Guest 1: Are you saying Gleeks and STEM?
[46:50] Guest 2: Wait. Gleeks and STEM. We're called Gleeks for a reason. Go back in time and get these songs back on the clock. Thank you very much.
[47:04] Guest 2: Yeah. Jack is bringing up in the chat that "Geeks" feels like a slur. I will say that.
[47:10] Guest 1: Oh, but "Gleeks" doesn't?
[47:13] Guest 2: Gleeks, we've owned that.
[47:16] Guest 1: We've reclaimed.
[47:17] Guest 2: We've reclaimed. We're all in good company. We're all Gleeks here, and that feels safe.
[47:24] Guest 1: Whereas "Geeks," not so much.
[47:28] Guest 2: It's like that commercial that they did where they're like, I'm a Gleek. You're a Geek.
[47:34] Andrew: Amazing. I love it. Thanks so much for the carousel content, Sam.
[47:43] Andrew: It was such a pleasure to be joined by both of y'all. Would love to have you on for another competition where the competition is much better and has better songs to supply.
[47:55] Guest 1: I enjoyed it. Thank you.
[47:56] Guest 2: Thank you for having us. Very fun.
[47:59] Guest 1: See ya.
[48:02] Andrew: Okay, so I believe next I have Marguerite and Amanda. Oh my gosh. Hello.
[48:08] Marguerite: Hi.
[48:09] Amanda: Two beautiful Gleeks stand in front of me. How are y'all?
[48:12] Marguerite: Feeling good.
[48:13] Amanda: Okay, perfect. What do we think about that competition that just happened?
[48:17] Marguerite: I thought it wasn't me.
[48:21] Amanda: It can only go up. Yeah.
[48:23] Marguerite: Yeah, I would have voted for "Sandra Dee," but none of them are in my top, so it's okay.
[48:31] Amanda: You would have also voted for "Sandra Dee," Amanda?
[48:34] Amanda: I think so, only because I have a soft spot for Most Benoit. I feel like, yeah, the Marley love has been minimal. Neglect it.
[48:45] Marguerite: I feel like, okay, without considering a list, without looking at one, "Chasing Pavements" is seeing round three, and so is "New York State of Mind."
[48:55] Amanda: I'm trying to think right now of other Marley vocals that are round three. What are they?
[49:03] Marguerite: Marlolos.
[49:04] Amanda: Marlolos, yeah.
[49:05] Marguerite: Marlolos. Well, let's think. "Every Time" is dead. "First Noel" dead. "Wrecking Ball" dead.
[49:16] Amanda: What else do we have?
[49:21] Marguerite: Trying to look at the playlist of the Glackett round three, but I don't see a lot of Marley.
[49:27] Amanda: Okay, okay. Well, anyway, speaking of Glackett, do we want to get into Glackett hot takes? What are y'all feeling?
[49:32] Marguerite: Do you want to start, Amanda?
[49:34] Amanda: Yeah, let's start with Amanda.
[49:37] Amanda: Yeah, sure. Mine's a bit short. First and foremost, Andrew, I did want to say, so when I was catching up with the Glackett, I was taking a six-hour-long car drive down to Orlando whenever you brought up SimGM, and I had an existential crisis as I went back in time about 15 years on the drive, and it was fantastic, so thank you for that.
[49:57] Andrew: Oh, people don't, just sorry to interrupt, but people do not, I've brought up SimGM, I feel like I did an Instagram poll a year ago where I was like, hey, do people know what SimGM is? And it was like, 80% no. And I'm like, you are sleeping on so much glonten that is so good.
[50:11] Guest 1: Children, look up the archives.
[50:17] Andrew: The archives is all there, and it's so funny, and it holds up, and like, I don't know, every once in a while, I'll bring up a video, and I'm like, ooh, this stands the test of time. So thank you.
[50:25] Marguerite: It is part of the deep lore, but it's good.
[50:28] Amanda: Oh, Marguerite, okay, so you're on the same page as us.
[50:30] Marguerite: Yeah.
[50:31] Amanda: Amazing. Great.
[50:32] Amanda: Excellent. Glyph of Grievance, overall, I mean, hey, this is a, you know, political process of us determining things. I will say, my personal opinion, I don't quite get the hype for "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," personally. But then again, my favorite is "Blame It on the Alcohol," like, I listened to it about four different times this weekend, just as I was cleaning the house.
[50:55] Marguerite: So I would have voted for "Survivor," "I Will Survive" on that, but I'm glad that she got a second round. But yeah, overall, I mean, hey, it's the process. I'm here to listen to everyone's opinions.
[51:05] Andrew: Yeah, and here we are. I love it. Wait, so do we have, is that the competition that we're bringing up, or are there further grievances?
[51:10] Amanda: No, that's about it. I've learned from listening to this, if I come in with no expectations of what I'm manifesting or grievancing, I usually get good ideas, or get good souls.
[51:26] Andrew: Okay, so jumping the gun right now, you're not going to outwardly manifest anything?
[51:32] Amanda: Absolutely not.
[51:33] Andrew: Okay, you're not seven to nine.
[51:34] Marguerite: I am, yeah.
[51:36] Marguerite: You're also not manifesting anything?
[51:38] Amanda: No, no, no, I will be manifesting a lot of things.
[51:41] Andrew: Okay, do you want to lead with the manifestation, or do you want to lead with the grievances?
[51:46] Marguerite: I can lead with the manifestation.
[51:48] Andrew: Okay.
[51:53] Marguerite: This is a deep cut, but "Whenever I Call You Friend" is gorgeous, and I have a special relationship to that song because I got married last summer, and instead of a first dance, we did a first song, and we sang the Glee version. So if we can have "Whenever I Call You Friend," I will pull it through. I will vote.
[52:19] Andrew: "Whenever I Call You Friend" is a Glee song that no one is having a conversation about, except for you, Marguerite.
[52:25] Marguerite: I know.
[52:26] Andrew: She is so, so gorgeous. And like, what, it was like the 700th song?
[52:34] Marguerite: Yeah, it should hold some more weight than it does. But for whatever reason, people are not talking about her in the way that they should.
[52:41] Amanda: I know. And it would be topical, since Kevin and Jenna just did this episode last week. So I feel, yeah, it's her week.
[52:49] Marguerite: It's time for her to shine. I completely agree. It's very, very cute. Yes.
[52:57] Amanda: I also did a little Gleek resume myself. I am a season four lover. I will get some hate for this, but it is my second favorite season. I listened to it all the way through. I love it so much.
[53:16] Marguerite: So I know there's no Jake song left, but if I could have Jake on my screen, I'd be happy.
[53:24] Andrew: What is season four behind for you?
[53:28] Marguerite: Behind...
[53:29] Andrew: That was number two, favorite season. What's number one?
[53:32] Marguerite: Season two.
[53:33] Andrew: Season two is also number one for me. So gorgeous.
[53:38] Marguerite: It's so good. But I really love the new kids. I had no trouble falling in love with them. I think we got to know them and we still got the cast. So I love season four. I think it's a good mix, but I know it's a different opinion.
[53:54] Amanda: I feel like I forgot to bring this up with the conversation around "Sandra Dee," but like Glee is an episode. Every time I rewatch it, it's like they accomplish so much in that 45 minutes. There's so many storylines that they need to handle. And that's my favorite kinds of Glee episodes where they're involving so many storylines, so many characters.
[54:14] Marguerite: Glee is... People are sleeping on that one. It's good.
[54:17] Amanda: I know. And I mean, Glee songs are so classic. Can't not smile. So yeah, I love that episode also.
[54:26] Marguerite: I am also on my resume. I am a writing stan. I know. I'm going to hide.
[54:32] Amanda: No. I mean, Alice in Dodge, famously a writing stan as well.
[54:38] Marguerite: I felt so seen every time she was talking about writing.
[54:41] Amanda: Yeah. And I am very sad that we don't have any Blam! duets. I love, love, love, love Blam! It's mostly season four.
[54:46] Marguerite: Yeah.
[54:53] Amanda: I was so sad. It's on a few of my grievances, but yeah.
[54:57] Andrew: What's the number one Blam! duet for you?
[54:59] Marguerite: It is. I love "Heroes," truly.
[55:04] Andrew: It's so unfortunate not to put salt in the wound. It lost to "Thousand Miles."
[55:11] Marguerite: Yes.
[55:12] Andrew: In round one. And I can understand if you have some feelings about that.
[55:16] Marguerite: I know. It's in my grievance sheet. I also have feelings about "Werewolves of London."
[55:24] Amanda: Sorry, people. I don't like "Papa, Can You Hear Me?"
[55:27] Marguerite: Okay.
[55:28] Amanda: Yeah. It's not a skit, but I don't stream at all.
[55:35] Marguerite: It's funny that you should bring up "Werewolves of London" because I was at a bar on Friday night and I heard "Werewolves of London" and there was something very uncanny about it because I was like, it definitely is "Werewolves of London," but something about the track doesn't feel right.
[55:50] Amanda: Put my Shazam right next to the speaker. It was the Kidz Bop version.
[55:54] Marguerite: No way.
[55:56] Amanda: Of "Werewolves of London" playing at this grown ass establishment.
[56:01] Marguerite: Not the Kidz Bop?
[56:03] Amanda: The Kidz Bop version. I felt like I was like, in a nightmare. Yeah, but like, that's what people are playing. That's what people are choosing to play. So.
[56:13] Marguerite: Okay. Not the best version to stream, honestly.
[56:19] Amanda: Yeah.
[56:19] Marguerite: But do you want me to continue my grievance?
[56:22] Amanda: Yes.
[56:23] Marguerite: Yeah.
[56:24] Marguerite: Okay. I have a lot. So I'm gonna go with the ones that are most important. But to me, "Jingle Bell Rock" losing to "You're The Top" in round one.
[56:37] Amanda: That was like, episode three.
[56:38] Marguerite: I know.
[56:39] Amanda: I'm hearing you out. But that was over three years ago.
[56:42] Marguerite: I am thinking that on a weekly basis.
[56:46] Amanda: You still have some nightmares about it.
[56:48] Marguerite: Yeah. I get "You're The Top." But I don't like it.
[56:56] Amanda: "You're The Top" is now deceased.
[56:58] Marguerite: Yeah, I know. I was happy about it.
[57:00] Andrew: Okay. Yeah.
[57:10] Unknown speaker: Are so great. They're all wide. I like a boy's number. Sometimes this one I like. Yeah.
[57:18] Unknown speaker: Yeah, I would have voted against for it, especially against Welcome Christmas.
[57:24] Unknown speaker: Welcome Christmas.
[57:25] Unknown speaker: I don't care for a welcome Christmas. Um, even songs.
[57:30] Unknown speaker: They say that is the only Glee song that has the word Glee in the lyrics. Does that not do anything for you?
[57:38] Unknown speaker: Not enough.
[57:45] Unknown speaker: We're giving up participation points.
[57:51] Unknown speaker: Welcome Christmas. Still around, by the way.
[57:55] Unknown speaker: Yeah. I know.
[57:57] Unknown speaker: You could send her to her grave.
[57:59] Unknown speaker: I could. Yeah.
[58:00] Unknown speaker: Oh, yeah. I would like to send, uh, I don't know which song I'd like to send home in the remaining songs, but it would be one. Yeah.
[58:12] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[58:15] Unknown speaker: I also, for once in my life against Physical, I really love an Artolo.
[58:22] Unknown speaker: So that's number one. Oh, maybe behind, like, Never Going Back Again.
[58:26] Unknown speaker: Never Going Back Again is so good.
[58:28] Unknown speaker: So good. But for once in my life, very close second. Also, like, depending on the day, I'm like, I could, I could, that could be number one slot. For once in my life is so good. I completely agree.
[58:36] Unknown speaker: Yeah. His voice is amazing on it.
[58:40] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[58:40] Unknown speaker: It's and yeah, I love that episode and love that song. Great, great vocal.
[58:47] Unknown speaker: And also, this is going to be very controversial, but Copacabana against ABC, I would have voted for Copacabana.
[58:55] Unknown speaker: This is where I adamantly disagree.
[59:03] Unknown speaker: That's a crazy thought to have. Wow.
[59:07] Unknown speaker: From and this is also controversial, but it is from my favorite episode of this series. Guilty Pleasures.
[59:15] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[59:15] Unknown speaker: Yeah. That's a good one.
[59:17] Unknown speaker: The songs all, all hit for me. So yeah, Copacabana, it is. I'm sorry. I, I'm not sorry. Actually, I still stand for Copacabana.
[59:28] Unknown speaker: You stand in your truth. Guilty Pleasures is also home to a lot of blam content. So I could, I could see why you would like that. Specifically for you. Yes.
[59:41] Unknown speaker: And I also have Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go that was gone in round one. So against Raise Your Glass season five, which is the worst version of Raise Your Glass, to be fair.
[59:53] Unknown speaker: Okay. I feel like I have had to defend Raise Your Glass season five so many times that I'm like, is it even worth it at this point? Because like, the, the part that I really like about Raise Your Glass season five is the fact that everybody's there. And I think that's cute.
[1:00:08] Unknown speaker: I'm not thinking about the vocals so much. What do you think?
[1:00:12] Unknown speaker: If we quit that logic for everything.
[1:00:15] Unknown speaker: Yeah, everybody's there for the 100. But it's, I'm, I don't like the song at all. I, I, the song by Pink, I don't like it. So I will not stream it. Never. Any version?
[1:00:31] Unknown speaker: Any version.
[1:00:32] Unknown speaker: Even if there were a version? Yeah, sorry.
[1:00:35] Unknown speaker: Alright.
[1:00:38] Unknown speaker: Also, another song that I have a good attachment, emotional attachment to is As If We Never Say Goodbye. That was eliminated, eliminated by Boogie Shoes. I would have voted for As If We Never Say Goodbye. I think it's such beautiful Kurt vocals. It's one of my favorites from him.
[1:01:01] Unknown speaker: I really think he's so raw. And yeah, he gets emotional.
[1:01:05] Unknown speaker: I totally agree. I love As If We Never Say Goodbye, Sunset Boulevard also having a big moment right now. So, ooh, but I can't turn my back on Boogie Shoes. Boogie Shoes to me is like, so like endorphins. So much fun. Wait, Amanda, do you have any thoughts on this? That competition?
[1:01:24] Amanda: I mean, I agree. I'm usually more of the uptempo.
[1:01:27] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:01:28] Amanda: And Boogie Shoes was definitely a sleeper hit for me as far as that later half of the season. So I enjoyed that. But I could totally understand definitely the Never Can Say Goodbye is a highlight of Kurt vocals.
[1:01:39] Unknown speaker: It's so good. It's beautiful.
[1:01:45] Amanda: I cry every time I listen. It's so good. Yeah, I love that.
[1:01:51] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:01:52] Unknown speaker: Um, um, I also very sad that we got to lose, give up the funk against Lose My Breath. I'm sorry to bring back this debate again. But yeah, I I don't. Yeah, I know.
[1:02:10] Unknown speaker: Lose My Breath and Crush are like really wreaking havoc on the blackout.
[1:02:15] Unknown speaker: And I think it would be very fun for it. But yeah,
[1:02:19] Unknown speaker: I think Lose My Breath and Crush would be a very fun competition to possibly have in round three.
[1:02:25] Unknown speaker: I think that would be crazy. But I could see that potentially happening. So yeah,
[1:02:32] Unknown speaker: I would like for both of them to be gone for round four. So their reek of terror can come to an end. Yeah.
[1:02:42] Unknown speaker: Yeah. And also, I am not a fan of the representation for representation. So go your own way against L.O.V.E. I don't understand why we kept L.O.V.E. Go Your Own Way is so good. I love the Rumours episode. So yeah, this is very sad.
[1:03:02] Amanda: I yeah. What are you thinking Amanda?
[1:03:06] Amanda: No, I mean, I think in thinking of favorite episodes, certainly Rumours is is top for me.
[1:03:13] Unknown speaker: Just like I'm so sorry, Marguerite, I forgot.
[1:03:17] Amanda: L.O.V.E.
[1:03:19] Unknown speaker: Yes. Yeah, I would go go your own way. 100%.
[1:03:24] Unknown speaker: I feel like but like Heart and Rumours, the episodes that both house those respective songs. They're both very, very good episodes. I think that like, I don't know. I know that love is going to love is going to die in round three. But I really do genuinely like it and go your own way. I don't know what I can say about her. I think she's good.
[1:03:51] Unknown speaker: I it sounded like I did it for diversity's sake L.O.V.E. but firmly, I stream it more. I think it's a it's a better song for me.
[1:04:00] Amanda: No, I know. It is in my top five Rollos.
[1:04:04] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:04:05] Unknown speaker: On way. Yeah. So I would have voted for it. But I understand. I understand. It's okay.
[1:04:12] Unknown speaker: And yeah, also have a little category that's called Bye Bye Baby Boo. So I would have voted for the song that went through but so still.
[1:04:20] Unknown speaker: Wait, it's called Bye Bye what?
[1:04:22] Unknown speaker: Baby Boo.
[1:04:24] Unknown speaker: Bye Bye Baby Boo. Okay, so like you're like cheekily saying goodbye.
[1:04:28] Unknown speaker: Yeah, I would have voted for the song that went through but still sad for the one that went home.
[1:04:35] Unknown speaker: Listen to your heart. I love that girl. Claudia, shout out. I love it also.
[1:04:42] Unknown speaker: Even though I would have voted forget it right?
[1:04:45] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:04:45] Unknown speaker: Also barely breathing. Very sad that it went. Happy that it's back. Right?
[1:04:51] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:04:52] Unknown speaker: Yeah. And hard. How to be a heartbreaker. Such a good song.
[1:04:58] Unknown speaker: Yes, we recently brought up.
[1:05:00] Unknown speaker: Yes.
[1:05:02] Unknown speaker: Yeah, today.
[1:05:04] Unknown speaker: Oh, so sad. And this is back from round one, but dream on against Barracuda.
[1:05:11] Unknown speaker: Yeah, I think I would have voted for Barracuda but dream on is so good. It's the I don't know if it's the best will vocal but they are.
[1:05:20] Unknown speaker: That is another one where I'm that you're breaking up the wrong tree. I voted for dream on. I completely agree. Dream on is the better song of the two. And it's unfortunate that she died so early.
[1:05:31] Unknown speaker: Yeah, would have liked to see her in round two and three.
[1:05:34] Unknown speaker: Wait, Amanda, you have you have a thought?
[1:05:36] Amanda: No, I'm trying to remember what the heck Barracuda is aside from the fish.
[1:05:42] Unknown speaker: It is Rachel and Elliot.
[1:05:45] Amanda: Okay, forgettable. But you know exactly what we're talking about when we talk about dream on.
[1:05:52] Unknown speaker: So, of course, yeah.
[1:05:55] Unknown speaker: Yeah, I think that's it for my grievances. Yeah.
[1:06:00] Unknown speaker: Incredible. I wait. So manifestations, Amanda, we're not doing manifestations. Marguerite.
[1:06:08] Unknown speaker: Whenever I call you friend. Yes.
[1:06:10] Unknown speaker: Sure. And I'll have anything featuring featuring Kurt, or I don't know because I know a lot of heavy hitters are left. So I don't want a heavy hitter so I can pull whenever I call your friend through.
[1:06:31] Unknown speaker: Do you know what we have left of Kurt?
[1:06:34] Unknown speaker: I don't think we have a solo but we have some featured song.
[1:06:39] Unknown speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. I know.
[1:06:47] Unknown speaker: Okay.
[1:06:50] Unknown speaker: Oh, been a while since I heard anybody bring up this song.
[1:06:55] Unknown speaker: Okay.
[1:06:56] Unknown speaker: Season one. Here we go. Anticipation building. Share screen. Here we go. We know exactly what it is. Yes or no.
[1:07:07] Unknown speaker: Yeah, the boy is mine. Yes.
[1:07:11] Unknown speaker: Excuse me. Can I please talk to you for a minute? Sure. You know, you look kind of familiar.
[1:07:18] Unknown speaker: Yeah, you do too. But um, I just wanted to know, do you know somebody named?
[1:07:22] Unknown speaker: Do you know his name? Oh, yeah, definitely. I know his name.
[1:07:27] Unknown speaker: I just wanted to let you know he's mine. No, no, he's mine.
[1:07:32] Unknown speaker: You need to give it up.
[1:07:38] Unknown speaker: He belongs to me. The boy is mine. I think it's time we got this straight.
[1:07:45] Unknown speaker: Sit and talk face to face. There is no way you could mistake. And boy, man, are you insane?
[1:07:53] Unknown speaker: I know that you may be just a bit jealous of me.
[1:07:58] Unknown speaker: Cause you're blind if you can't see. All my love is all it took.
[1:08:18] Unknown speaker: You seem to be confused. He belongs to me.
[1:08:22] Unknown speaker: You can't destroy this love I found. Your silly games I won't allow. The boy is mine without a doubt. He was my love right from the start. I'm sorry that you seem to be confused. He belongs to me.
[1:08:43] Unknown speaker: The boy is mine.
[1:09:02] Unknown speaker: The boy is mine.
[1:09:05] Unknown speaker: That was intense.
[1:09:06] Unknown speaker: It was intense, Mr. Shu.
[1:09:08] Unknown speaker: It was gorgeously intense. All right, who wants to start the discourse? Boy is mine.
[1:09:15] Unknown speaker: So much to be said, I feel.
[1:09:17] Unknown speaker: Yeah, so much. It is so great. Amazing, amazing. I love any duet with Santana, so this is amazing.
[1:09:30] Unknown speaker: I love that beginning when they talk on the telephone side by side.
[1:09:35] Unknown speaker: Side by side?
[1:09:36] Unknown speaker: Oh, Cam!
[1:09:38] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:09:39] Unknown speaker: They are right there. I love this.
[1:09:43] Unknown speaker: I also love Theo's Mercedes. She looks so hot in that high pony. I don't know why. She's so cute.
[1:09:49] Unknown speaker: Right. Ariana Grande who? Exactly.
[1:09:52] Unknown speaker: Exactly. Get that high pony.
[1:09:54] Amanda: What are you thinking?
[1:09:56] Amanda: No, 100%. Like, it really just brought me back to like, again,
[1:10:00] Amanda: that season one Glee where it's like, it's not the big over the top sets and costumes. It's just, you know, the simple cinematics of them just fighting over and like dancing around.
[1:10:09] Amanda: Sure, there's Puck, which, you know, degrades it for a little bit. But then like, yeah, highlighting Santana and Mercedes because I think that's like their first.
[1:10:18] Unknown speaker: It's their first, yeah.
[1:10:19] Amanda: And it just blows my mind. I can't believe I had laid on this for so long.
[1:10:26] Amanda: I need to listen to it immediately after this.
[1:10:28] Unknown speaker: Oh, wait, this isn't a stream for you. Or at least in the rotation.
[1:10:33] Amanda: I don't stream Glee as often as I probably should.
[1:10:37] Amanda: I listen to your podcast.
[1:10:40] Unknown speaker: The songs are there.
[1:10:41] Unknown speaker: And honestly, I kind of remind myself kind of a lot of these songs.
[1:10:46] Unknown speaker: I kind of did that for the last couple of weeks, especially for some of the lower ones.
[1:10:49] Unknown speaker: But yeah, I completely forgot about this because it's all the way back in season one.
[1:10:53] Unknown speaker: I don't really watch season one that often.
[1:10:55] Unknown speaker: Yeah. I love this performance so much.
[1:10:59] Unknown speaker: And it gets it deserves all the praise that it gets.
[1:11:01] Unknown speaker: I feel like a lot of people have consistently brought up this song. Is there one of their favorites?
[1:11:07] Unknown speaker: And it's like, yeah, it's like, okay, here it is.
[1:11:11] Unknown speaker: The Naya Monica impression is so fun.
[1:11:16] Unknown speaker: Though it had about enough with her the head shake.
[1:11:20] Unknown speaker: So good.
[1:11:21] Unknown speaker: Means so much to me.
[1:11:22] Unknown speaker: Maybe like top three, like moments like it just like just like.

[1:25:13] Broadway Podcast Network: See you next week for another exciting episode!
[1:25:33] Broadway Podcast Network: Bye for now!
[1:26:15] Unknown speaker: Yeah, it's okay. Leave it there almost. I would have loved it. Love more. But yeah, no, it's okay. I think I remember like when Lea Michele went on tour a few years ago, right before Funny Girl, she posted like she added a story where she was like, what songs would you like to hear me sing from Glee? And she re-shared like someone saying like, oh, I want to hear you do I Feel Pretty, I'm Pretty. And then she shared it to Story. And she said, I want to do this too. And I have just the person that I would sing it with. And I was like, I know you're not talking about Diana Agron. But what the hell? She did not sing I Feel Pretty, I'm Pretty. But like, what was, who was she talking about? I want to know. And I'm like, was it? The only person I could think of was like, Darren Criss, that is such a good comment. Darren Criss. I was thinking like, Becca Tobin. Oh, yeah, that could be cute. Like, okay. Yeah. Do we have anything? I ran through all of my notes.
[1:27:25] Unknown speaker: Yeah, me too. Amanda, are you have we have we convinced you to vote? Otherwise, are you still standing your ground?
[1:27:30] Amanda: I have to stand my ground on this holy day. Um, but like, yeah, I do feel bad. And I hope that we get to see, you know, Pretty, I'm Pretty. Hopefully, maybe it's a swan song, right of the Glockett where it just, you know, keeps getting knocked down and coming back up. But it has faced just like tough competition.
[1:27:50] Unknown speaker: Yeah, it's unfortunate.
[1:27:51] Amanda: Yeah. To me, the boy is mine is superior.
[1:27:56] Unknown speaker: In which way? I just want to know.
[1:27:59] Amanda: In the composition in the, even the, again, the storyline, like it is funny, because like, it's that season one, beautiful, like framing of the storyline with the song. And I mean, I'm blanking. Amber's vocals. They're just, to me, it hits my taste in music. I'm a big R&B fan. So it unfortunately, um, I know what you're I see you, I hear everything. You're saying that you're voting for R&B music. Would you not classify Unpretty as, I guess, I don't know, huh?
[1:28:45] Unknown speaker: Yeah, people are saying, I feel like this is the most Andrew has ever tried to sway, I guess. I feel like Marguerite, I think you and I are kind of aligned on this one. What do you want to say?
[1:28:58] Marguerite: No, I am voting for Pretty Unpretty.
[1:29:01] Unknown speaker: Okay.
[1:29:02] Amanda: Yeah, I agree. Amanda.
[1:29:06] Unknown speaker: Hey, I'm happy this worked out for you, for you, Andrew, especially it's like, really deep in your heart. I just could not vote for it, in honesty, so.
[1:29:16] Unknown speaker: People are saying that I'm mad. Wait, Amanda, do you think that I'm mad at you?
[1:29:19] Amanda: No, no, no, no, no.
[1:29:20] Unknown speaker: Okay.
[1:29:21] Amanda: It's really not. This is the Glockett in action.
[1:29:25] Unknown speaker: It really is. And I think a beautiful thing happened today. Boy Is Mine, do you want to say anything in remembrance?
[1:29:36] Amanda: Even though I think it would have been better on a reprise. It would have been even better if they were to bring it back, especially, you know, later on where if Santana were able to sing, like, The Girl Is Mine, that would have been fire. But, you know, maybe it's that lost potential that, you know, the fact that some people forget it, that it lost. So, you know, I will stream it immediately after this. But I'm glad to see Pretty I'm Pretty go on.
[1:29:58] Unknown speaker: It could very well come back. I think that Boy Is Mine does have the juice.
[1:30:03] Unknown speaker: Is it up against Paradise?
[1:30:05] Amanda: No, Paradise is back. So, that has been removed from the equation. It's all coming back to me now, I feel, is leading the charge without looking at the list of who is up against each other. But, yeah.
[1:30:21] Unknown speaker: Only the third episode, right, for this competition of bringing back songs?
[1:30:27] Amanda: There's going to be, yeah. So, like, there's the penultimate episode of round two. A song gets brought back. And then the final episode, another song needs to come back as well, just to make all the numbers make sense. So, Boy Is Mine?
[1:30:46] Unknown speaker: At least you know what to do.
[1:30:48] Amanda: Could come back. And I think I just need to bring up, Amanda, you brought up Girl Is Mine, potentially later on in the series, Santana singing that. Do want to bring up the fact that Santana does sing Make No Mistake, She's Mine, and also Mine by Taylor Swift.
[1:31:07] Unknown speaker: The Illuminati.
[1:31:09] Amanda: She cannot escape that damn word.
[1:31:12] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:31:16] Amanda: Wow.
[1:31:16] Unknown speaker: Yeah. That is scary.
[1:31:21] Amanda: Scary. Well, thank you so much, Amanda and Marguerite. Do we want to leave on any notes here?
[1:31:22] Unknown speaker: Can I ask you a question?
[1:31:24] Amanda: Yeah.
[1:31:25] Unknown speaker: I am. I'm from Canada. And when we listened to Glee, there was a song to go into commercial break. It was It's Not Unusual. What was that like in the US? Because for the break, it was It's Not Unusual to be loved.
[1:31:36] Amanda: What?
[1:31:47] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:31:48] Amanda: I don't know about anything of this.
[1:31:50] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:31:50] Amanda: I feel like we just had the music cue of the Glee, and then it just went away.
[1:31:59] Unknown speaker: Wait, where would it play?
[1:32:02] Amanda: Before the break and coming back from the break. Every commercial break. Yeah, it was It's Not Unusual.
[1:32:09] Unknown speaker: Wait, so what did they play before they sang It's Not Unusual? Because that was season three.
[1:32:15] Amanda: I don't remember.
[1:32:16] Unknown speaker: I know. I'm really testing your memory here.
[1:32:19] Amanda: Probably another song because we had It's Not Unusual up till season six.
[1:32:26] Unknown speaker: Huh. I know that there are some Gleeks listening right now that know exactly what you're talking about. I unfortunately do not.
[1:32:34] Amanda: I was also on a French cable network. So yeah, I don't know. But yeah.
[1:32:41] Unknown speaker: Wow. I desperately want more information about this because I don't even know if I can visualize what you're-
[1:32:47] Amanda: It was just a clip of Blaine singing and then you knew it was the break. And if you heard It's Not Unusual, you knew to come back in front of the team.
[1:32:55] Unknown speaker: Wow.
[1:32:56] Amanda: Yeah.
[1:32:56] Unknown speaker: Was it kind of overlaid like right before their dialogue ended?
[1:33:01] Amanda: No, just after the dialogue ended. It was It's Not Unusual and then back.
[1:33:07] Unknown speaker: Wow.
[1:33:07] Amanda: That's crazy. No, I do need more information about this.
[1:33:10] Unknown speaker: Well, I think I could find a clip.
[1:33:13] Amanda: Please, please. I need it. I mean the carousel. It's not going to build itself.
[1:33:18] Unknown speaker: Yeah. But thank you so much, Amanda, Marguerite. It's a pleasure. A competition that will go down in Glistory. I know for sure.
[1:33:28] Amanda: Thank you.
[1:33:28] Unknown speaker: Um, okay. And the final competition, I have Megan and Emily. Are y'all still here?
[1:33:38] Megan: Hi!
[1:33:38] Unknown speaker: Megan, hello.
[1:33:39] Megan: I'm here.
[1:33:41] Unknown speaker: And there's Emily.
[1:33:42] Emily: Hello.
[1:33:43] Unknown speaker: With a letterbox hat.
[1:33:45] Megan: Oh, yeah.
[1:33:47] Unknown speaker: Oh, I see it. And I'm peeping the Shiva Baby starring Diana Agron poster.
[1:33:52] Megan: Starring Diana Agron. Yes. Best movie of all time.
[1:33:57] Unknown speaker: It was a good one.
[1:33:58] Megan: Um, I mean, Diana, kind of, she sold the show for me. She didn't really do much besides hold a damn baby. But, you know, I really liked it. Wait, Megan, have you seen Shiva Baby?
[1:34:09] Megan: No, I'm in the small sector of gleeks who don't do any like musical theater or anything. And I don't really know what Shiva Baby is. It sounds like something.
[1:34:19] Unknown speaker: Shiva Baby is a movie where Rachel Sennett is the star and Diana Agron plays her, like, her love interest's wife.
[1:34:26] Megan: The titular baby's mother.
[1:34:32] Unknown speaker: Yes. Yeah, the titular baby.
[1:34:35] Megan: Yes, exactly.
[1:34:37] Unknown speaker: I'll have to do some homework.
[1:34:38] Megan: Exactly. It's a good one. Barbara Streisand made a grid post about how much she loved the movie. Do you remember this, Emily?
[1:34:45] Emily: Really? I didn't know about this.
[1:34:47] Unknown speaker: Yeah, she like literally posted to grid. She was like, just saw this movie and it was so incredible. And like, it was a very big deal for the movie, obviously.
[1:34:57] Megan: Wow.
[1:34:57] Unknown speaker: The Barbara Streisand endorsement.
[1:34:59] Megan: I love that.
[1:35:00] Unknown speaker: That's real of her.
[1:35:02] Megan: So real. And you know what else is real? The Glockett.
[1:35:06] Unknown speaker: So do we have any thoughts on either of the competitions that just transpired? Megan, starting with you.
[1:35:11] Megan: Um, so I definitely would have voted the same with the second one, having Pretty Unpretty go through.
[1:35:24] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:35:25] Megan: And I've already forgotten what the first one was.
[1:35:28] Unknown speaker: But it was Yeah versus Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee.
[1:35:32] Megan: Yeah, I would have gone with Sandra Dee. I love Marley.
[1:35:36] Unknown speaker: Okay.
[1:35:36] Megan: Like, she's my sweet little angel.
[1:35:39] Unknown speaker: She's very cute. She sounds good. But Yeah means a lot to me. The Glockett isn't kind to her. That's part of my grievances.
[1:35:48] Unknown speaker: Wait, before we get into your grievances, Megan, Emily, do you have any thoughts about either competition?
[1:35:53] Emily: I think I also would have voted Sandra Dee. But I like I kind of like both equally. But I just think Melissa Benoist's vocals are so pretty, like, especially at the end.
[1:36:06] Megan: Gorgeous.
[1:36:06] Emily: And then yeah, I would have voted I Feel Pretty Unpretty. I mean, that's like, top three, top five, include songs for me. So.
[1:36:16] Megan: Y'all are making me regret because I feel like the last competition, also the same sentiment with Sandra Dee, getting their votes as well. And I'm like, did I make the wrong choice? Potentially?
[1:36:29] Unknown speaker: I mean, I like Yeah a lot too.
[1:36:36] Unknown speaker: Alright, well, getting into just general Glockett grievances.
[1:36:40] Megan: Yes.
[1:36:40] Unknown speaker: Back to you, Megan. What do you have? Do you have a list prepared?
[1:36:44] Megan: I sure do.
[1:36:45] Unknown speaker: Okay, perfect.
[1:36:47] Megan: First one is this one really upset me. I'm thinking about it earlier. Diamonds are a girl's best friend losing to We Will Rock You. Melissa Benoist has
[1:36:59] Unknown speaker: That is not what happened.
[1:37:01] Megan: What happened?
[1:37:03] Unknown speaker: Didn't it go to the lutes?
[1:37:05] Megan: Right there, Megan.
[1:37:05] Unknown speaker: No, I was just listening to it today and I was really annoyed. Um, We Will Rock You won against, this is gross, Losing My Religion.
[1:37:17] Unknown speaker: What was, what did, um,
[1:37:19] Unknown speaker: And then We Will Rock You.
[1:37:22] Unknown speaker: Okay, Diamonds are a girl's best friend, I believe, lost to Hell to the Know.
[1:37:26] Megan: Okay, that's fine. That's a little bit better, I guess. But I love that one. And I feel like We Will Rock You, so made it to round two. And I feel like we already pulled her.
[1:37:37] Unknown speaker: Yeah, it already went through. Um, it was the John Locke.
[1:37:42] Unknown speaker: And Derek Nelson episode?
[1:37:43] Megan: Yeah, yeah.
[1:37:45] Unknown speaker: Wait, and it, it went to round three?
[1:37:48] Megan: And I feel like it did.
[1:37:51] Unknown speaker: Wait.
[1:37:52] Megan: I could be wrong. I'd love to be wrong because
[1:37:55] Unknown speaker: I would love if you're wrong as well. Just in this, just in this case.
[1:37:58] Megan: I feel like
[1:38:01] Unknown speaker: Huh.
[1:38:02] Megan: I feel like, again, I really hope I'm wrong. Let me see if I can look at the playlist. But there's the one line that Melissa Benoit does in Diamonds are a girl's best friend, the everything is going so well. It's, it's gorgeous.
[1:38:16] Unknown speaker: I love that.
[1:38:17] Megan: It scratches my brain in such a beautiful way.
[1:38:20] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:38:22] Unknown speaker: No, you're, you're preaching to the choir. I love her so much.
[1:38:26] Megan: I love her.
[1:38:29] Unknown speaker: So, yes, that lost to Hell to the Know. But We Will Rock You lost to Call Me Maybe.
[1:38:37] Megan: Okay, I'm okay with that, I guess. I'm happy. So yeah, retract my statement for half of that.
[1:38:43] Unknown speaker: Okay, incredible. Starting off strong with these.
[1:38:48] Megan: I even have them written down incorrectly. The last episode, what went on, Don't Rain on My Parade went through, I understand why it was going through. I would have voted differently.
[1:39:01] Unknown speaker: I think it could have been, it should have been.
[1:39:05] Megan: It's all coming back.
[1:39:07] Unknown speaker: Share with the class why?
[1:39:09] Megan: Because it's so beautiful.
[1:39:11] Unknown speaker: And Drumpf isn't?
[1:39:14] Megan: It is, but in a different way.
[1:39:15] Unknown speaker: Yeah.
[1:39:16] Megan: Drumpf doesn't give me goosebumps, where it's all coming back to me does.
[1:39:20] Unknown speaker: I get that. The goosebumps.
[1:39:25] Megan: Oh, you sent pictures of your goosebumps.
[1:39:29] Unknown speaker: I sure did, bud.
[1:39:30] Megan: Yeah. Oh, my gosh. That's all coming back to me now.
[1:39:34] Unknown speaker: Yeah. Ah, wow.
[1:39:38] Megan: That's what I'm hoping for today is a good goosebump song.
[1:39:41] Unknown speaker: Oh, a goosebump. A bump of a goose. Megan, what else is, is that end of list?
[1:39:48] Megan: Because that's pretty recent.
[1:39:48] Unknown speaker: No, I know I had another one. Superstition over telephone.
[1:39:56] Unknown speaker: Just brought up, yes.
[1:39:57] Megan: Yeah, I wanted, Superstition went home, right?
[1:39:59] Unknown speaker: And then Telephone went through.
[1:40:02] Megan: Am I happy?
[1:40:02] Andrew: Welcome back to Gleek of the Week! Today, we have a live episode where I'm joined by six lovely glisteners to discuss their Glacket grievances and dive into some exciting competitions.
[1:40:32] Andrew: We're going to kick things off with our first competition. Remember, we have some incredible songs lined up today, so let's get started!
[1:41:02] Andrew: Our first matchup features "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty" against "Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee (Reprise)." Who's ready to share their thoughts?
[1:41:28] Glistener 1: I have to say, I love both of these songs, but "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty" really resonates with me. The message is so powerful!
[1:41:54] Glistener 2: I totally agree! "Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee (Reprise)" is iconic, but "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty" has that emotional depth that just hits differently.
[1:42:20] Andrew: Great points! Let's hear from another glistener. What do you think?
[1:42:46] Glistener 3: I think "Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee (Reprise)" has such a fun energy. It's a classic Glee moment that always makes me smile.
[1:43:14] Glistener 4: But "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty" is all about self-acceptance, which is so important. I think it deserves to move forward.
[1:43:40] Andrew: Alright, it sounds like we have a split decision here. Let's take a vote! Who's for "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty"?
[1:44:00] Glistener 1: Yes!
[1:44:20] Glistener 2: Definitely!
[1:44:40] Andrew: And who votes for "Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee (Reprise)"?
[1:45:00] Glistener 3: Me!
[1:45:20] Glistener 4: Same here!
[1:45:40] Andrew: It looks like "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty" takes the win! Now, let's move on to our next competition.
[1:46:00] Andrew: The next matchup is "Mercy" versus "The Boy is Mine." This is going to be a tough one!
[1:46:20] Glistener 5: I love "Mercy." The vocals are just incredible, and it really showcases the talent of the cast.
[1:46:40] Glistener 6: But "The Boy is Mine" has that nostalgic factor. It's such a fun duet that always gets me singing along.
[1:47:00] Andrew: Both great choices! Let's hear more opinions before we vote.
[1:47:20] Glistener 1: I think "Mercy" has a more emotional impact, while "The Boy is Mine" is just pure fun. It's hard to choose!
[1:47:40] Glistener 2: I agree! But I think I lean towards "Mercy" for its heartfelt lyrics.
[1:48:00] Andrew: Alright, let's take a vote! Who's for "Mercy"?
[1:48:20] Glistener 5: Yes!
[1:48:40] Andrew: And who votes for "The Boy is Mine"?
[1:49:00] Glistener 6: Me!
[1:49:20] Andrew: It looks like "Mercy" moves forward! Now, onto our final competition of the day.
[1:49:40] Andrew: We have "Welcome Christmas" against "Yeah!" This is going to be a fun one!
[1:50:00] Glistener 3: "Welcome Christmas" is such a beautiful song. It really captures the spirit of the holidays.
[1:50:20] Glistener 4: But "Yeah!" is such a bop! It's so catchy and always gets everyone dancing.
[1:50:40] Andrew: Both songs have their merits! Let's hear more thoughts.
[1:51:00] Glistener 5: I think "Welcome Christmas" is more about the message of togetherness, while "Yeah!" is just a party anthem.
[1:51:20] Glistener 6: I love the energy of "Yeah!" but "Welcome Christmas" has that emotional pull that I can't ignore.
[1:51:40] Andrew: Alright, let's vote! Who's for "Welcome Christmas"?
[1:52:00] Glistener 3: Yes!
[1:52:20] Andrew: And who votes for "Yeah!"?
[1:52:40] Glistener 4: Me!
[1:53:00] Andrew: It looks like "Welcome Christmas" takes the win! What an exciting set of competitions today!
[1:53:20] Andrew: Thank you to all our glisteners for joining me today. It's always a blast to hear your thoughts and opinions on these performances.
[1:53:40] Andrew: Be sure to tune in next time for more Glee discussions and competitions. Until then, keep gleeking out!
[1:54:51] Andrew: Is it Santa? I'm sorry, it's not. It's not Santa. No one's talking about this one. No one. Okay. We had that big doozy competition in the middle and then two competitions that sandwich it that are... Oh gosh, it's just unfortunate that these happen. Here we go. Do we know what it is? Oh, not Rehab. It's not Rehab. Mercy. It's Mercy, yes. Rehab's twin sister.
[1:56:14] Andrew: Beautiful. I love this so much, but I want to hear what y'all think. Mercy Gleekast vs. Mike Gleekast. Who wants to start the discourse on this one? Choreography was crazy. Oh, it goes wild. So good. It was so good. So fun to watch. So fun to listen to. MP3 and MP4 are amazing. It's not Christmas music. I, yeah, it's unfortunate that I already know who I'm voting for. Do you love this so much? And I feel like people are sleeping on it, but I, people in the chat are like mad at these type of numbers. Like specifically, I guess like, it's only like Rehab and Mercy that it's like, I love those two numbers. They're so fun. And like people, people have gotten upset with me because Rehab went through over Roots Before Branches, which is unfortunate. I'll say that. Which would, what would y'all vote for? Rehab won over Roots Before Branches? Yes. It depends on the day, honestly.
[1:57:32] Guest 1: Really? Yeah. Today? Today, I think I would probably do Roots Before Branches. I probably do Roots Before Branches only for like the storyline.
[1:57:44] Guest 2: And like running after the train.
[1:57:48] Andrew: Yeah. But what about the storyline behind Rehab?
[1:57:56] Guest 1: All these characters that we have no emotional attachment to? No, that they're like New Directions going to Carmel High and being intimidated. And we're doomed.
[1:58:06] Andrew: It is good. It's good. I think I like Rehab better than Mercy, but they're both good.
[1:58:14] Guest 2: I will agree. Rehab is better than Mercy. Not by too much though. I think that Mercy doesn't have like the, I know that we're not seeing eye to eye about like the plot behind Rehab, but Rehab has, it does have a little bit like a scooch more plot than Mercy. Whereas like Mercy is just them going over to like get Dakota Stanley to be the choir director for them.
[1:58:42] Andrew: And this was just like the performance that we see. Yeah, it's great. It's from Acafellas, right?
[1:58:46] Guest 1: This is from Acafellas, you're right. One of the worst episodes. I tell them to skip that one.
[1:58:57] Guest 2: It's great. I also just love like early vocal adrenaline where like they don't have like a front man where it's like, it's just like kind of like an enigma of a show choir where it's like, yeah, they're like the soulless automatons. I think it's fun.
[1:59:13] Andrew: It is. But does Lauren Potter love it?
[1:59:17] Guest 1: Oh, is that you revealing your vote?
[1:59:19] Andrew: No. Just saying, keep it on your toes.
[1:59:24] Andrew: What if we call Lauren Potter up right now and get her thoughts about Mercy?
[1:59:28] Guest 2: Call Lauren up.
[1:59:29] Andrew: Let's call Lauren up. Do we have any further thoughts about Mercy? They sang it on tour.
[1:59:35] Guest 1: Taisha Monique Clark, famous Gleek of the Week has participated in the Glockett. I think she is like the focused dancer in this performance. I love it.
[1:59:43] Guest 2: If I saw that in real life, I would be so gagged.
[1:59:55] Andrew: If they were an actual high school show choir. Yeah, it's amazing. The move where the girls get on top of the guy and they're on the shoulders. Crazy to me.
[2:00:04] Guest 1: Yeah. And they're singing. I mean, they're not really singing, but like they're supposed to be singing.
[2:00:10] Guest 2: Yeah.
[2:00:11] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:00:13] Andrew: To suspend the disbelief. Vocal adrenaline will never match the high that they had in season one.
[2:00:18] Guest 1: No.
[2:00:18] Guest 2: It's unfortunate.
[2:00:19] Andrew: They were such good villains.
[2:00:20] Guest 1: They were so great. Okay, well.
[2:00:25] Andrew: Yep, yep.
[2:00:27] Andrew: Okay, here we are. I'm sorry that you got a stinker competition in the grand scheme of things, but.
[2:00:32] Guest 2: I'm so happy to be here. It's okay.
[2:00:35] Andrew: Oh, what are we thinking in terms of voting?
[2:00:39] Guest 1: I want to throw. No, I don't want to throw a pity vote. It's just gonna be Mercy.
[2:00:45] Guest 2: Mercy.
[2:00:47] Andrew: Yeah.
[2:00:48] Guest 1: Oh, yeah. Joey is. This is gonna be some post holiday season bias.
[2:00:55] Guest 2: I'm so sorry.
[2:00:57] Andrew: People are mad.
[2:00:59] Guest 1: I don't want y'all to get the heat, though. I'm with y'all. Mercy 100%.
[2:01:05] Guest 2: I think Welcome Christmas is very cute.
[2:01:07] Andrew: It's cute.
[2:01:08] Guest 2: It's not the best of the Christmas songs, though. Like there's way more. Like Christmas wrapping exists. Come on.
[2:01:12] Andrew: If it didn't die today, it was gonna die like next round.
[2:01:17] Guest 1: Exactly.
[2:01:19] Guest 2: Yeah, wait. So like, okay.
[2:01:23] Guest 1: Wait, Don't Dream It's Over should be part of the discourse.
[2:01:25] Andrew: Oh my gosh. Is that a Christmas song?
[2:01:27] Guest 2: No, Don't Dream It's Over was what? Oh, no. Don't Dream It's Over lost to Rehab in round one.
[2:01:35] Guest 1: Oh.
[2:01:37] Andrew: Do you hate that?
[2:01:38] Guest 2: Yeah. I don't have like super, super strong feelings about it. I like both.
[2:01:44] Guest 1: Again, I love Marley, so.
[2:01:46] Andrew: Wait, does anybody have what did Mercy win against in round one?
[2:01:50] Guest 2: Wait, River?
[2:01:52] Guest 1: Oh, another Christmas song. I mean, I don't think that's a Christmas song, but it was in a Christmas episode.
[2:01:56] Guest 2: It was in a Christmas. Yeah. Huh. That's interesting.
[2:02:02] Andrew: I feel like it's the same competition in a different font. Mercy cannot escape these Christmas songs, huh?
[2:02:09] Guest 1: Oh, well, I wish I had River.
[2:02:13] Andrew: Um, anyway, this was, huh? Do you feel cheated by this competition? Did you want something grander?
[2:02:24] Guest 2: Okay. Round two kind of like took the energy out of a lot of people. So.
[2:02:32] Andrew: So we need this.
[2:02:33] Guest 1: We just yeah, we did a couple, you know, chill competitions.
[2:02:39] Guest 2: Yeah.
[2:02:40] Andrew: But I also it's like, because like next week is going to be like, now that Welcome Christmas Mercy. Yeah. And look at me. I'm Sandra Dee are all pulled already. That it's like, yeah, it's gonna be intense now.
[2:02:54] Guest 1: It's gonna be like really crazy. And I don't want that.
[2:02:56] Andrew: But at least I can like go to bed peacefully tonight.
[2:03:01] Guest 2: So you don't have to lose sleep over anything.
[2:03:04] Andrew: Yeah. I feel but I mean, this the second competition of this episode is unfortunate. But yeah, anyway, um, Megan, Emily, beautiful, beautiful gleeks with a not very beautiful competition. But we had a beautiful conversation. Thank you so much for joining me.
[2:03:22] Guest 1: Um, is there anything else that you would like to leave us on?
[2:03:24] Guest 2: No, I don't think so. I'm so happy I'm here.
[2:03:27] Guest 1: And thank you, Allison, for doing the glee, the Mike Lawler ship.
[2:03:33] Andrew: Wait, what are you talking about?
[2:03:34] Guest 2: It said on when I got the glee because you know, somebody did the glee present thingy. It said who sent it and it said the Allison one who did it. So I want to say thank you so much. And I love you. And thank you.
[2:03:48] Andrew: Oh, very cool. I love that. That was very sweet.
[2:03:52] Andrew: Yeah, there was um, in a great plug if like if any Glatrans would like to gift a membership to anybody, so they can join these monthly live streams, then you can do so.
[2:04:05] Andrew: Thank you so much. Emily, anything that you want to leave us with?
[2:04:08] Guest 2: I did want to get an opinion.
[2:04:16] Guest 1: Yes. Um, my job has like different playlists for like special occasions. Like I work at Starbucks. Okay, they they have like, special playlists. So when wicked came out, there was a wicked playlist.
[2:04:25] Andrew: And there were two glee songs on it.
[2:04:28] Guest 2: Which ones?
[2:04:30] Guest 1: Oh, do I have to guess?
[2:04:34] Guest 2: I mean, I don't think you can. They're like, so random, which is the thing.
[2:04:36] Guest 1: Like, I don't understand.
[2:04:36] Guest 1: Yes. Um, without you, like the Rachel's the rollo. And somewhere only we know, we're on there. And I was like, I don't really know how these relate to wicked. But that's pretty cool.
[2:04:45] Guest 2: Yeah. And look at me. I'm Sandra Dee.
[2:04:49] Andrew: Yeah. I guess I wouldn't like really bat an eye if I heard that with like other wicked song, like other like, you know, just like wicked songs. But yeah, it's just like the whole wicked part one soundtrack and then like some Ariana Grande songs and then like the two great songs. That's basically the playlist.
[2:05:09] Andrew: That's crazy. And not like the glee wicked songs.
[2:05:13] Guest 1: No, not to find gravity. So random.
[2:05:21] Andrew: That is insanely random. Well, without you and and somewhere only we know part of the wicked canon now forever.
[2:05:26] Guest 2: They are. That's crazy. I guess that I'll have to listen to both of those songs through the wicked lines now. Thank you.
[2:05:34] Guest 1: Yeah, I got to listen to them at work for like hours a day.
[2:05:39] Andrew: Oh, insane. Do you like those two covers?
[2:05:44] Guest 2: Yeah. I mean, somewhere only we know is like one of the best. I feel like without you is good. It's good. Yeah, I like it.
[2:05:50] Guest 1: Yeah, it's growing on me.
[2:05:57] Andrew: Yeah, for sure.
[2:05:57] Andrew: Well, Emily, Megan, thank you so much to both of you. It's been a pleasure. And it's weird ending this episode just by myself. But here we go.
[2:06:05] Andrew: In recap for this episode. Here we go. Yeah, hell yeah. You're going to round three. Look at me. I'm Sandra D reprise. Look at me. I'm going to hell. The boy is mine.
[2:06:30] Guest 1: Oh, I want to say like, wait, what did you want to say?
[2:06:36] Guest 2: I just said wrong.
[2:06:36] Guest 1: Not mine. The boy is going to hell. The boy is dead.
[2:06:45] Andrew: The boy that feels so unfortunate to say about a song that means so much to so many people. I feel pretty I'm pretty. I feel like a winner. Is that it?
[2:07:00] Guest 1: Yeah. Do we have? Do we have anything better?
[2:07:09] Guest 2: I feel pretty in round three. I don't know.
[2:07:14] Andrew: No. Sure. I feel I feel pretty sure that you're gonna be in round three. There you go. There it is. Megan. This is why we have you around.
[2:07:22] Andrew: Welcome Christmas and goodbye Christmas. You will not be seeing round three. And you do not need to ask for not you don't need to beg for mercy. Because baby girl, you're going around three your days of mercy, or begging for mercy are now over. So congratulations, girl.
