[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.
[0:09] Alison: There's no remote reason to it.
[0:12] Andrew: So don't get mad at me.
[0:17] Andrew: Andrew and Alison who run the show of the Gleek of the Week, who's the head on show.
[0:26] Alison: Glacket by Glackett.
[0:28] Andrew: We'll rank everyone.
[0:30] Alison: Someone move closer to spot another.
[0:35] Andrew: Gleek of the Week.
[0:37] Alison: Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
[0:41] Andrew: It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
[0:44] Alison: Andrew, how why?
[0:48] Andrew: Oh wow, wow, wow. You ever feel like you want anything to do? Do you so much that you could do anything?
[1:00] Alison: Um, how much laundry do you do on a daily basis?
[1:00] Andrew: On a daily basis. Um at least one load a day, and I swear to fucking god I always have more.
[1:11] Alison: I gotta be real. I feel like it depends on like if I'm actually like um if I go for a bike ride, how often uh how frequent I'm going for bike rides.
[1:21] Andrew: Because I'm like, right now I'm at the end of my bike ride clothes.
[1:26] Alison: So I'm like, I need to do laundry again.
[1:28] Andrew: So you need to do laundry. How many pairs of biking clothes do you have?
[1:32] Alison: I feel like probably five.
[1:35] Andrew: Okay, so you can go almost a whole week if you take two days.
[1:38] Alison: Right, yeah. And so yeah. And then you bike on the sixth day in the nude.
[1:43] Andrew: And on the sixth day, he rose again fulfilled and fulfillment of the scriptures, absolutely.
[1:49] Alison: How often do you wash your sheets?
[1:51] Andrew: Oh, don't ask that. No, that's is it we're in a public format. You can't ask that.
[1:56] Alison: Cause I think that's what's getting me. I just bought new sheets from Home Goods, and I'm very excited about them.
[2:03] Andrew: And uh I washed those, but they're sitting in my dryer, but I just made my bed, so I'm like not gonna put them on right away, but I don't have oh god, I'm gonna have to put them on my bed.
[2:12] Alison: Well, my life is so hard to do.
[2:14] Andrew: You think your life is hard? Try having a duvet.
[2:18] Alison: That's so hard.
[2:20] Andrew: Oh god. I'm living with a duvet.
[2:23] Alison: But the Barbarian taught us how to properly put a duvet on.
[2:28] Andrew: The movie Barbarian?
[2:31] Alison: Mm-hmm.
[2:31] Andrew: How? I don't remember that scene.
[2:34] Alison: You don't remember that scene at the very beginning when she's um he like puts the duvet on over himself.
[2:42] Andrew: That's how I do it. I didn't learn that from the hit.
[2:45] Alison: The hit wait, can we talk about Oh, we can't talk about that way?
[2:49] Andrew: Redacted.
[2:50] Alison: Redacted.
[2:52] Andrew: Um you stepped in it first.
[2:54] Alison: I know.
[2:56] Andrew: Oh god, I looked right into it. I was so worried to death.
[3:01] Alison: I know, and you just take the hard laugh.
[3:03] Andrew: Okay, this just in Alison dodged cross the picket line.
[3:03] Alison: Cross the picket line, cancel it.
[3:09] Andrew: Oh god. Wow, I didn't mean to, I'm sorry.
[3:12] Alison: Who taught you to fold a duvet?
[3:15] Andrew: Or put a picket.
[3:16] Alison: Not any film or media.
[3:17] Andrew: I can tell.
[3:18] Alison: That's true. I know that.
[3:20] Andrew: I know. That's right. I K T R.
[3:23] Alison: Um. I I just I guess I just like figured it out. I was just like, I gotta get in there.
[3:29] Andrew: Yeah, at a certain point, like in order to survive, you either learn how to put a duvet on or you perish.
[3:36] Alison: The thing with putting a duvet on, and maybe this is like crazy, but I think there is going to be some.
[3:42] Andrew: Can we we can say glisteners? Can we say glisteners?
[3:45] Alison: We can say glisteners is our word.
[3:47] Andrew: Okay. That's trademarked.
[3:49] Alison: Okay. I mean, we're saying what are we calling the reality show that we're talking about?
[3:55] Andrew: We're gonna get into that.
[3:57] Alison: Okay. So the I'm gonna tighten up my mic. Um the glisteners, some glisteners might have my back with this.
[4:03] Andrew: When you put on when I put a duvet on, um, I have to either be in the nude, or I need to be in my inside clothes.
[4:15] Alison: Because I cannot be having my outside clothes touching the blanket.
[4:20] Andrew: Is this a terrible visual for the glisteners?
[4:22] Alison: I don't think I've ever made my bed naked.
[4:25] Andrew: Well, like sometimes you got to because you gotta get up all on it, you know?
[4:34] Alison: Exactly. Oh god, I don't like the visuals that I'm supplying.
[4:40] Andrew: I love that visual. I'm thinking about it, and then I'd think about it for a long time. Just know I have the sexiest body that you could ever imagine.
[4:50] Alison: Yeah, you do, baby.
[4:52] Andrew: Um I hate that you validated that. Um, I was trying to be sarcastic, and it's like, wait, Alison has probably seen it, and it doesn't sound like she's being sarcastic, so I'm not being sarcastic.
[5:06] Alison: Andrew have the sexiest body ever.
[5:10] Andrew: And I've seen Harry Styles.
[5:12] Alison: So take it to that what you will.
[5:14] Andrew: You say that I'm so familiar with the name, the brand that is Harry Styles, and yet it sounds like a euphemism.
[5:22] Alison: Everything sounds like a new euphemism these days.
[5:24] Andrew: Hairy styles.
[5:25] Alison: It sounds like a like uh like a fashion, like a uh detergent, you know? Like a like a shaggy jacket you'd wear.
[5:35] Andrew: Harry Styles.
[5:36] Alison: Um, no, Harry Styles is absolutely wrecked muscular.
[5:41] Andrew: He is incredibly muscular. And I do think it's because of a certain series that I will not name at this point that he is a part of film series that he is a part of.
[5:51] Alison: Um, that he might have shown up at the end of one movie.
[5:51] Andrew: At the end of one of the movies, yeah. Uh it just I think that's why he's ripped.
[5:59] Alison: That's why Will Polter got ripped. That's why, no, they have the they have these Marvel babies going through the Marvel boot camp.
[6:05] Andrew: Remember Kumail?
[6:06] Alison: Yeah.
[6:06] Andrew: Remember when Kumail showed up on the scene and was like, hey, by the way, I'm not just funny, I'm I have this I'm the sexiest man.
[6:13] Alison: An Andrew McGuire type sexy body.
[6:19] Andrew: Um my god. He said that directly to the camera during the.
[6:23] Alison: Wait, what was I about to say? Um, Harry Styles, da-da-da-da-da. Harry Styles has a good body.
[6:28] Andrew: He looks great. He's he's big kiss. But he's taking a break from music. Did you see that?
[6:34] Alison: He ended Love on Tour, and now I think he's taking a big breakety break.
[6:40] Andrew: For a little while.
[6:41] Alison: It's like I'm taking a break.
[6:43] Andrew: I know. It's like taking a break, but you know what? You always come right fucking back now.
[6:47] Alison: Yeah, you just can't get enough of us.
[6:49] Andrew: Yeah, yeah. God fuck you. Um, are we gonna go to Eras in Toronto for my birthday?
[6:56] Alison: Yes.
[6:56] Andrew: In 2024.
[6:59] Alison: I thought the Indianapolis days were this year.
[7:03] Andrew: That's so scary to me that she's announced. Like, please never let me book anything over a year out.
[7:09] Alison: Fully a year from now, but I did sign up for the pre-sale tickets, and if we get tickets, we are going to Canada for the Eras Tour.
[7:17] Andrew: I don't give a fuck. I want to see her again.
[7:20] Alison: I want to lay my beautiful eyes on that. On the Today Show this morning, which I'm allowed to talk about for the record, um they um said that the tickets are like of like it's already like I I'm not familiar with like, okay, so like you had to get on the the verified lists or something.
[7:39] Andrew: They're essentially all gone is what I understood from Hoda.
[7:44] Alison: Uh Hoda's not to gaslight a fellow woman, but she's crazy.
[7:50] Andrew: Um, no, so what happened now, what happened this weekend, which you should do.
[7:59] Alison: Well, I think it's already closed now, so wait, so Hoda was right.
[8:03] Andrew: No, okay, so you won't let Hoda be right.
[8:07] Alison: No, she's not. She's a woman.
[8:08] Andrew: No.
[8:09] Alison: So I just saw the Barbie movie.
[8:13] Andrew: Um, so you could sign up for be to become a verified fan.
[8:19] Alison: That's what I'm saying. So I signed up to to be a verified fan, and if you become a verified fan, you get a pre-sale code to get tickets.
[8:29] Andrew: You'd have nobody knows if they got a pre-sale code yet.
[8:33] Alison: You just signed up to have a chance to sign up for tickets that you may or may not get the day you log in and order them.
[8:42] Andrew: Interesting.
[8:42] Alison: So no tickets have been sold for the event yet. Just registered people were registering to become a fan.
[8:48] Andrew: So tomorrow, I will get an email in my inbox that either says, Congrats, you've been selected, you have a pre-sale code, and then I'll go on Ticketmaster and wait eight hours in line to see if I can try to buy tickets.
[9:00] Alison: Or it'll be like, No, you've been waitlisted. Maybe someday you'll get a pre-sale code, you stupid bitch.
[9:06] Andrew: You know what Hoda said to me this morning? Is that over your morning cereal of Rice Krispies?
[9:12] Alison: She said to me, she said to me, and to millions of other watchers. Um, she said that if you want a good chance of going to this next leg of the Eras Tour, um, some tips are to go by yourself and go during the week.
[9:29] Andrew: And I'm like, neither.
[9:32] Alison: Neither. Considering she does shows on the weekends.
[9:37] Andrew: Does she only do the weekends?
[9:39] Alison: Basically, because she has the rest of the week off. She does Fridays and Saturdays, the occasional Sunday and the occasional Thursday.
[9:45] Andrew: Okay, so Hoda, I'm so sorry, babe. Hoda, you are fully crazy girl woman.
[9:50] Alison: I'm sorry.
[9:51] Andrew: Yikes.
[9:52] Alison: Girl.
[9:52] Andrew: Girl.
[9:53] Alison: Um.
[9:55] Andrew: But what was the other thing?
[9:57] Alison: Go by yourself. I mean, yeah, there's a lot of people.
[10:00] Andrew: Oh, wait, I forgot who I'm talking to.
[10:02] Alison: Yeah, I went by myself.
[10:04] Andrew: Fuck. Only losers do that.
[10:07] Alison: Yeah. Only losers go to concerts by themselves.
[10:11] Andrew: Um, no, it was a great experience. I do not, I it was fine by myself.
[10:15] Alison: I don't know if I would if I have the social stamina to go to like a general admission concert by myself, like just be in a crowd of people by myself.
[10:26] Andrew: But I did like like having an assigned seat was fine.
[10:31] Alison: Yeah, well, that's different. I don't need to talk to anybody.
[10:36] Andrew: Except Lea Michele.
[10:37] Alison: Right. And funny. I'm seeing a concert tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden.
[10:41] Andrew: Three guesses go.
[10:44] Alison: Beyonce.
[10:45] Andrew: No, she's not doing Madison Square Garden, babe. She's not doing MSG.
[10:49] Alison: Everybody's doing these these baby, these big puppy girls, they don't do MSG anymore. They do East Rutherford, New Jersey.
[10:56] Andrew: So instead of brother, isn't that a song by Miley Cyrus?
[10:59] Alison: No, that's East Cumberland High.
[11:01] Andrew: It just kills Time Machine.
[11:03] Alison: Time Machine. Fact check me.
[11:05] Andrew: Um it kills me that Lady Gaga Beyonce, instead of having like New York how you're doing how are you doing tonight? They have to say East Rutherford, New Jersey.
[11:17] Alison: East how we doing Rutherford. How are we doing tonight?
[11:20] Andrew: So scary.
[11:22] Alison: Wait. Okay, so it's not Beyonce.
[11:25] Andrew: I have two more guesses.
[11:26] Alison: I might be seeing female guest?
[11:28] Andrew: Female?
[11:28] Alison: No.
[11:30] Andrew: Male.
[11:31] Alison: Ed Sheeran.
[11:32] Andrew: No, I mean, well, I think by saying neither male nor female, that really gives you a pretty clear idea of who it is.
[11:42] Alison: Sam Smith?
[11:43] Andrew: Sam Smith.
[11:44] Alison: Wow. Even oh my gosh.
[11:48] Andrew: Why? Not in like a bad way, but like I've never heard you talk about Sam Smith before in my life.
[11:54] Alison: And you know what? You really haven't. Um a friend from college who may or may not be listening to the podcast.
[12:02] Andrew: I know Oh, you told me this you were going to this concert.
[12:04] Alison: Oh my God. Yeah. She was just like hey um someone's not going with me anymore. Do you want to go? And I'm like, why not?
[12:11] Andrew: Yeah, fuck it. I'll do anything for any reason.
[12:14] Alison: Yeah. I'll go see Sam Smith.
[12:17] Andrew: Do you know? Um, I love Sam Smith's song on uh Barbie?
[12:22] Alison: Oh, yes.
[12:24] Andrew: The man I am the that's good. Do you think that I that can't be on um their uh track list, their set list?
[12:31] Alison: No, I wouldn't think so.
[12:32] Andrew: I wouldn't think so. What what is Sam Smith gonna sing?
[12:37] Alison: I truthfully only maybe a singular Sam Smith song.
[12:41] Andrew: I'm the only one.
[12:42] Alison: Or I'm not the only one.
[12:44] Andrew: Yeah.
[12:45] Alison: Or like look what you made me do.
[12:48] Andrew: Nope.
[12:49] Alison: No.
[12:49] Andrew: That's Taylor Swift.
[12:51] Alison: But there's also a Sam Smith song that's called Look What You Made Me Do, or is that Choice of Vaughn.
[12:57] Andrew: I don't I don't know. Don't ask me. I'm just seeing their concert tomorrow.
[13:02] Alison: Oh, wait, no, that's a Charlie Puth song. And then there's uh you say Oh wait, no, that's the same song I just listed. And then and then there's um s stay with me.
[13:09] Andrew: With me.
[13:25] Andrew: Oh, uh-huh.
[13:30] Alison: Unholy. If you're doing something on house and listening to this right now, you are hating my freaking guts. I'm so sorry.
[13:36] Andrew: Yeah, you're the worst. They never—oh, I was gonna talk about a TV show. I am so sorry.
[13:43] Alison: I'm not doing that. We can talk completely around it. I think, okay, can we talk about some or do we want to wait until—because we're talking without the Glaitrons present right now?
[13:53] Andrew: Yeah, the Glaitrons aren't here yet. I feel like we should wait to talk about like some ground rules talking about it until the Glaitrons get here.
[14:01] Alison: Yeah, I would say so. Um, but I am very excited to talk about what we're going—the reality show that we're gonna be talking about this evening.
[14:10] Andrew: Listen, we're talking about—we're talking about a reality TV show.
[14:14] Alison: It's a reality TV show. Any questions?
[14:19] Andrew: I don't feel like I—it's okay. I don't know. It's really scary to me.
[14:25] Alison: I know. Real reality shows are a-okay. Like I just watched, um, I just spoiled it for myself, and I looked at the three people that are left on Chastity Charities season of um The Bachelorette.
[14:38] Andrew: Okay.
[14:39] Alison: Um, I haven't watched a single episode, but so you already know.
[14:43] Andrew: But they're all—they're cute. All three of them. Big time cute.
[14:45] Alison: But I'm more—I haven't started. Have you watched um Love Island before?
[14:51] Andrew: I've watched it. I watched a few episodes of it and I was like, I gotta like this, but I just never came back to it.
[14:56] Alison: USA season five is airing right now, and I like keep meaning to watch, and I just never have the time to watch because Love Island is a big ask.
[15:06] Andrew: What do you mean?
[15:07] Alison: Love Island is like three episodes a week and they're all 45 minutes long.
[15:10] Andrew: Oh wow. I have big time ask. I think it's a good one. It's like you're living inside of their heads.
[15:14] Alison: That watched Love Island through um early pandemic, and they just watched all of it.
[15:20] Andrew: That's when you—I should have done it, but then I didn't, so I can't get into it now.
[15:25] Alison: Yeah. They dressed up in everything.
[15:26] Andrew: They dressed up in like really, like in the beach.
[15:32] Alison: Ninki Minjaj.
[15:34] Andrew: Nick Minj.
[15:35] Alison: Is there anything else that we can talk about that isn't struck work?
[15:39] Andrew: Um, I had potbelly the other day.
[15:43] Alison: Struck.
[15:45] Andrew: New rules just dropped. Um, I love potbelly. Potbelly is so fucking good. I like cannot make myself dinner. It's like a biological defect that I have in my enzymes that I cannot make myself dinner. So I um either have a girl dinner or I go get something. And I ate big time lots of potbelly the other day and it was really good.
[16:10] Alison: What I hate the most.
[16:11] Andrew: Wait, go ahead.
[16:12] Alison: Oh, I was gonna say I get a turkey sandwich and mac and cheese and also an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and also a lemonade. If anybody wants to door-dash that to my house, I would also take some mesquite barbecue chips if you were gonna give it to me.
[16:26] Andrew: Okay, that seems like a really roundabout way of asking for your address.
[16:31] Alison: Here's my address. 555 North Lane. North Lane. Main Street USA. Disneyland. Disney.
[16:39] Andrew: Oh my god. Become a patron so you can see um Alison's Zoom background.
[16:46] Alison: Yeah. There's Walt Disney!
[16:51] Andrew: Castle.
[16:52] Alison: Yeah, Cinderella. Well, Sleeping Beauty Castle.
[16:54] Andrew: This is Disneyland.
[16:56] Alison: Disneyland.
[16:57] Andrew: Yeah, yeah. Sleeping Beauty. She's shh. Everybody can be quiet. She's sleeping.
[17:00] Alison: She's sleeping. We can't podcast too loud.
[17:02] Andrew: We can't podcast too loud. Uh, what I will say that I do not like about—I love potbelly. Um, putting it out there. It's just so good.
[17:11] Alison: Wait, also I wanted to ask, do you get the big sandwich or do you just go regular size?
[17:17] Andrew: I get the regular size and I get white bread.
[17:19] Alison: Okay. Sue me. I do. I fucking love a good GMO.
[17:24] Andrew: Well, I don't remember asking what kind of bread you got.
[17:27] Alison: And so you just willingly give up that.
[17:31] Andrew: Um, yeah, I'll do the big one, but then I think I'll cancel it out by doing the wheat, which doesn't make any sense.
[17:37] Alison: What I hate—the girl math.
[17:37] Andrew: Girl math.
[17:43] Alison: I think—no, I don't like saying that. Um, what I don't like about potbelly is the name itself. I just feel like, are you kidding? Like I know. I feel like I have a pop belly.
[17:54] Andrew: Yeah, why would you name your business this?
[17:58] Alison: Because some people say potbellies. And I'm like, it's not plural.
[18:00] Andrew: No, it's just singular.
[18:02] Alison: No, it's just singular. It's mine.
[18:04] Andrew: And it's not—it's mine. They're talking about Taylor Swift, Taylor's version. About the beautiful girl reading the name of the restaurant.
[18:10] Alison: Exactly. This is Potbelly. And what I—yeah, I love it. I wanted to order it to go, but then there were service fees on DoorDash. So um, I just—I walked into the restaurant and I ordered it in person. Are you proud of me, Mama?
[18:24] Andrew: No, I love—and I haven't had a singular bad experience with a potbelly employee either.
[18:30] Alison: I know. No, they're sweet. They're wearing the aprons and they were in the hats.
[18:33] Andrew: Right. Yeah. So I know that they were. Do you want anything on this?
[18:36] Alison: And I'm like, yeah, I want some lettuce and I want some mayo and I want some salt and pet baby. Pick. Do you want a pickle?
[18:40] Andrew: No.
[18:43] Alison: No. I don't—I like pickles, but I don't like them on my sandwich.
[18:46] Andrew: That's okay. Um, I do the um—do you guys care? I do the um—I know, is this stimulating? I—this is stimulating for me. This is the most stimulating thing I've thought about all day because my old therapist used to—well, I had to stop seeing her.
[19:01] Alison: Um, she—her—because of her relationship with Potbelly?
[19:05] Andrew: Her practice was right next to a potbelly.
[19:08] Alison: So that's why you're spending too much money.
[19:11] Andrew: And then I was like, okay, well, I'm already here. And it's lunchtime too. I would get out at like 12:30, and I'm like, well, I'm here. I gotta get it. I gotta get it. I'm right there.
[19:22] Alison: Mm-hmm. And so it just like felt like a silver lining to going to therapy. It was like, oh, I didn't feel really good about this session today. However, at least I got a goddamn BLT.
[19:34] Andrew: I think it's like a turkey cheddar that I used to get. Like that was like a prefix sandwich or something.
[19:38] Alison: Turkey cheddar, that sounds right.
[19:40] Andrew: It's turkey and Swiss, I think.
[19:42] Alison: It's not—I don't do Swiss.
[19:44] Andrew: I do something.
[19:45] Alison: So I—I don't do Swiss either. I change it to provolone.
[19:47] Andrew: Okay.
[19:48] Alison: Say, hi, can you do turkey provolone? And can you—can you grill it up for me? Can you warm it up? Do you have Moe's Southwest Grill?
[19:55] Andrew: We do not have Moe's in uh Minnesota, but I did have it in Florida.
[20:01] Alison: It's so damn good.
[20:03] Andrew: It is very good. I—we have Pancheros up here.
[20:06] Alison: Pancheros dope as fuck. If there's a Pancheros in your neighborhood, go to them and kiss them on the mouth. Reach over that glass barrier and smack them on the lips with your lips.
[20:17] Andrew: Wow, okay. They make the tortilla right in front of you.
[20:20] Alison: No, they don't.
[20:20] Andrew: That's the way—that's a good one. Yeah, they take a little thing of dough, they splat it on the hot heat, and then they make a tortilla.
[20:26] Alison: I simply can't believe that.
[20:28] Andrew: Yeah. When you come to Minnesota.
[20:32] Alison: Minnesota.
[20:33] Andrew: I will—I will strap you in the car and I will—like the Pancheros that we have are numbered. But we have Pancheros.
[20:40] Alison: I want to say in New York?
[20:42] Andrew: No, in New Jersey, I feel. I feel like I'm East Rutherford.
[20:46] Alison: I'm not from East Rutherford.
[20:49] Andrew: East Rutherford just is like right out of the city. And so like that's like also part of the reason that I wouldn't want to go to like Beyoncé in East Rutherford because then you'd just be getting onto a—everybody is leaving the city to go to Beyoncé.
[21:04] Alison: Are you not seeing Beyoncé?
[21:06] Andrew: Might be seeing Beyoncé next month in Texas.
[21:09] Alison: Oh, that could be fun. In uh home state for Miss—Miss County.
[21:14] Andrew: Houston, Texas baby.
[21:16] Alison: Yeah. Is it Houston or is it Dallas?
[21:18] Andrew: I don't—I think it's Dallas. But I don't even—I think Beyoncé's from Houston.
[21:23] Alison: Yes.
[21:24] Andrew: I'm just gonna say.
[21:25] Alison: Wait, you think you know that?
[21:26] Andrew: I know that she is, yes. I know that she's—you've never listened to If I Were a Boy, but you know that she's from Houston?
[21:30] Alison: But I know that Houston, Texas baby! Like she says that on several of her songs.
[21:36] Andrew: Oh, I forgot that lyric.
[21:37] Alison: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And um, and uh um Jay-Z says it on New York's state of mind or Empire's state of mind.
[21:47] Andrew: But like Jay-Z is not from Houston.
[21:49] Alison: But BK is from Texas.
[21:52] Andrew: BK—oh, Beyoncé Knowles.
[21:55] Alison: I just—sometimes you just listen to lyrics and they don't mean anything until someone has to see.
[22:00] Andrew: BK is from Texas.
[22:01] Alison: Burger King is from Texas.
[22:03] Andrew: That's literally—no.
[22:04] Alison: Beyoncé Knowles, his wifey.
[22:06] Andrew: Gosh.
[22:07] Alison: Wifey baby, baby mama.
[22:10] Andrew: Baby mama.
[22:11] Alison: Baby Blue Blue is performing with her. Have you been seeing these videos?
[22:13] Andrew: I know. I have been seeing videos of that. That's really cool.
[22:17] Alison: Really, really, really cute. But I've also been seeing that she's getting like a major tax break because of it.
[22:23] Andrew: Or I don't know.
[22:24] Alison: Don't ask.
[22:25] Andrew: Oh, because her kid is performing?
[22:26] Alison: Right. I don't know. Well, she—didn't she um, she adjusted the time schedules like uh for trains in a certain city. Did you read that article?
[22:35] Andrew: Hilarious.
[22:37] Alison: She—she—what's the line from Barbie? I control the railways and affect commerce or whatever.
[22:43] Andrew: Oh, I don't know.
[22:44] Alison: Or the—I control the railways and the flow of commerce.
[22:46] Andrew: Oh, I don't remember that.
[22:48] Alison: Because I'm a fascist.
[22:50] Andrew: I just love the line at the very beginning of the movie where one of the Barbies, like winning.
[22:54] Alison: Not a movie.
[22:56] Andrew: Fuck. We can't do it.
[22:58] Alison: Well.
[23:00] Andrew: You did that.
[23:02] Alison: I know, I did that! I walked right into that.
[23:05] Andrew: I quoted it first.
[23:06] Alison: I quoted it first.
[23:07] Andrew: I didn't—this is gonna be so difficult.
[23:10] Alison: Anyway, okay. Alright. This is the end of the intro. If we can't talk about struck work.
[23:16] Andrew: Bye.
[23:21] Andrew: Okay. So um, yeah, welcome to our Glee Project recaps. Um, yeah, okay.
[23:30] Alison: Okay, yeah. Um, so I understand that we're not allowed to talk about struck work.
[23:35] Andrew: Um, and this is reality television. We have gotten permission to discuss Glee Project ongoings.
[23:41] Alison: Um, makes it even tricky though that, yeah, um, Glee Project is a reality television that surrounds struck work.
[23:50] Andrew: So we're really gonna navigate this conversation in a very crazy way.
[23:54] Alison: Yes. I'm not interested in talking about TV shows at all. All I want to talk about are the contestants on this show, what they do on this show, and I'm gonna live inside of these 45-minute episodes.
[24:06] Andrew: Wait, so you're not interested in talking about anything else TV shows?
[24:09] Alison: And yet all you want to talk about is this TV show.
[24:12] Andrew: Is this show? Is this reality show?
[24:15] Alison: Exactly. Exactly. I'm gonna actually pretend—no, not pretend. I'm going to embody the fact that I don't even know what this show is even about.
[24:24] Andrew: That I want to sit down. When they say, go ahead, I'm gonna continue standing. Um, when they say Glee, the Glee Project, I think that they're actually referring to the noun. The actually like um, the act of opening oneself up to joy.
[24:41] Alison: Uh, to joy. So yes, that's what glee means too.
[24:44] Andrew: That's what Glee means to me. I don't know where I got that. Um, definitely not struck work.
[24:49] Alison: Uh gosh, no, I can't know. I can't be making jokes about this. Um, okay, and so yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There was a um, a reality TV series that uh aired between season two and season three, and then again uh between season three and season four—three and season four of whatever this show is.
[25:10] Andrew: Yeah, I don't know.
[25:12] Alison: Um, what was your relationship with the Glee Project when it was airing?
[25:15] Andrew: Oh, I was obsessed. I watched it from episode one, but apparently there was a pre-episode to episode one.
[25:25] Alison: Oh, I'm so glad that you brought that up because we thought like we were thinking about like starting off with episode like zero, which is like w—how they found these um, these contestants that made it onto the reality television series.
[25:39] Andrew: Um, but I feel like that would be like anticlimactic if we started with that.
[25:42] Alison: So we're going to be doing that at the end of our season.
[25:46] Andrew: Yes. Um, as like part of our recap. A little fun, a little fun. Look how far they came.
[25:53] Alison: But I was very, very deep into the Glee Project world. I was heavily into Glee Project Tumblr. Um, don't ask me how many Cameron Mitchell edits, how many Cameron Mitchell gifts I have saved on my old laptop babies.
[26:07] Andrew: Oh, 7,000.
[26:09] Alison: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Easily. I was a big Cameron Mitchell girl. I love this show. I love this show.
[26:16] Andrew: But upon rewatch, I have things to say.
[26:20] Alison: I will say before you even go further on that, I was just like gooped and gagged that we were getting um like summer content. You know what I mean?
[26:31] Andrew: Yeah. I was like that was fun. Oh, okay. We're gonna keep the good vibes going. Um, and I remember I watched this first episode with my mom, and I thought that it would just be like how we would watch the hip Fox show Glee. Um, but I remember she did not want to watch episode two or any future episodes.
[26:50] Andrew: She watched this first season.
[26:51] Alison: Did you watch the whole thing?
[26:52] Andrew: Oh, of course.
[26:53] Alison: I watched week in and week out.
[26:56] Andrew: And season two?
[26:57] Alison: Oh, absolutely.
[26:59] Andrew: Was it it wasn't on when you and I were together though.
[27:03] Alison: No.
[27:03] Andrew: So that was between season four and yeah, that's the lore.
[27:07] Alison: So season one of Glee Project was after our freshman year of high school.
[27:13] Andrew: Season two of Glee Project was after our sophomore year, and after our junior year is when we finally met.
[27:19] Alison: Oh, I thought you were gonna say other words after the word met.
[27:22] Andrew: No, that was the end of the season.
[27:23] Alison: We finally met Julia or whatever the fuck.
[27:26] Andrew: I don't know.
[27:27] Alison: We finally met each other.
[27:29] Andrew: Um yeah.
[27:31] Alison: Uh really takes me back to a place in time, just like watching.
[27:37] Andrew: Honestly, it's like even like I was a big Glee Tumblr.
[27:44] Alison: But I think the summers when I didn't have school work to do is when I was on Tumblr the most, like the heaviest times.
[27:54] Andrew: So I think I was even more a Glee Project Tumblr.
[27:57] Alison: Yeah.
[27:58] Andrew: Um even more so, yeah.
[27:59] Alison: Wait, should I get the Gleeks my Cameron Mitchell doll?
[28:03] Andrew: I'm surprised that you didn't have it at the ready.
[28:05] Alison: Okay, Gleeks.
[28:06] Andrew: Okay.
[28:08] Alison: There it is.
[28:09] Andrew: I feel like we've posted it a number of times.
[28:11] Alison: I've posted him before, but just the real glisteners will know.
[28:15] Andrew: The real glisteners know.
[28:17] Alison: I did make this Joe Candy.
[28:19] Andrew: I did sew this with my own hands.
[28:21] Alison: I sat in my parents' basement where I lived because I was a child.
[28:26] Andrew: Um not to say anything about the channel.
[28:28] Alison: Yeah, what was that?
[28:30] Andrew: That's not really targeted.
[28:32] Alison: But like these pants are like, he's like showing a little crack, you know?
[28:36] Andrew: That's authentic to the character.
[28:39] Alison: Like, I know, like short, short, like skinny jeans.
[28:42] Andrew: Cameron Mitchell was like my ideal man.
[28:46] Alison: Still is to this day.
[28:47] Andrew: Every time I see that doll, I always think that it's wearing goggles.
[28:50] Alison: No, those are his glasses.
[28:52] Andrew: I know, they're just so he looks like he's going for a swim.
[28:55] Alison: Oh, I'm going for a swim.
[28:58] Andrew: Um, no.
[29:00] Alison: He's just wearing his thick-burned glasses, his little destined to be a nerd forever glasses.
[29:06] Andrew: Oh my god, that really took me out.
[29:08] Alison: And like, I was surprised because I watched all of Glee Project when we first started podcasting.
[29:17] Andrew: Because I wanted the entire like McKinley and Harper lore ready.
[29:21] Alison: And so I watched this semi-recently, but I will say, getting ahead of myself, that the Cameron nerd stuff is so jarring.
[29:31] Andrew: I know.
[29:32] Alison: Like he's I don't think he's a nerd.
[29:35] Andrew: I think he's just a hipster.
[29:36] Alison: Do we want to have a conversation about Cameron?
[29:39] Andrew: I think let's have a conversation about Cameron right now.
[29:41] Alison: I love him.
[29:41] Andrew: I do love him.
[29:43] Alison: But I think that he's a wonderful person, and I do love him, and I think he's sexy sexy.
[29:48] Andrew: Who said that?
[29:48] Alison: Who said that?
[29:49] Andrew: I did.
[29:50] Alison: Um, but and I do, I love like, I love all of the Glee Project people.
[29:55] Andrew: We it this is weird to talk about because we've talked with so many of these people.
[29:58] Alison: We've talked to Samuel Larson, Damian McGinty, Cameron Mitchell, Lindsay Pierce, um, I was gonna say Alex Newell, but that is our dream.
[30:05] Andrew: Um, McKinley, Harper, Danny, Abraham, Lily Mae, Charlie, Charlie, like Allie Stroker, Allie Stroker, lest we forget.
[30:16] Alison: Um, absolutely, everybody is so so nice.
[30:19] Andrew: Um, I don't want to say like incriminating things about them, but no.
[30:25] Alison: Uh Cameron Mitchell, I don't think I think in this era of the internet, um, nerds and hipsters were like blended together.
[30:36] Andrew: It was very much the like Zoe De Chanel on New Girl.
[30:41] Alison: I respect, like he it's like very encapsulation of like, don't hit the player, don't hate the uh don't hate the player, hate the game with Cameron Mitchell because he's playing this game so friggin' well.
[30:53] Andrew: He's so that he's like, I am such a nerd, like he knows how to get these girls like I don't want to say worked up yeah, worked up.
[31:01] Alison: I was gonna say creaming, but I don't like um but yeah, he's just he's just playing the game.
[31:13] Andrew: He's playing the game.
[31:14] Alison: He's I think I really truly we are gonna do people are asking, are we gonna do a Glee Project glacket?
[31:23] Andrew: And uh yeah, we are ready to call it.
[31:23] Alison: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[31:25] Andrew: We will the Glacket Project.
[31:27] Alison: The Glacket Project.
[31:29] Andrew: And um, I don't know, I will be shocked if a Cameron Mitchell song is not the best song on this show.
[31:36] Alison: That's my prediction right now.
[31:38] Andrew: Wait, okay, so let's explain it to how like the Glacket Project will work.
[31:43] Alison: Because the Glacket Project is happening very differently.
[31:46] Andrew: Very differently.
[31:47] Alison: Our Glacket.
[31:48] Andrew: So what we're gonna do is we took.
[31:52] Alison: I have a little spinny wheel that keeps spinning on my second monitor flex.
[31:56] Andrew: Um keeps spinning and uh distracting me, but we are going to do three random competitions at the end of every episode for the songs that were in that episode of the Glee Project, so that at the end of every episode of our podcast, we have one song that's the best song of that episode, and at the very end of the season, those ten songs will go head to head.
[32:20] Alison: It's like almost like Hunger Game style instead of where it's like that's the tribute.
[32:24] Andrew: Yeah.
[32:24] Alison: Like, individuality.
[32:27] Andrew: Who's the individuality tribute that's going on?
[32:31] Alison: Um we're very excited about it.
[32:34] Andrew: Um we get into it.
[32:36] Alison: I am like something is like my hair.
[32:39] Andrew: Oh hair standing up, thinking about talking about the Glee Project.
[32:44] Alison: So overstimulated by my hair poking my neck.
[32:47] Andrew: I really want a hair clip.
[32:49] Alison: I really want a hair clip right now.
[32:51] Andrew: Hair clipper and I'm gonna grab one.
[32:55] Alison: One second.
[32:56] Andrew: Okay, okay, okay.
[32:58] Alison: The first thing I want to say about the episode individuality, Glee Project, Glee Project, season one, episode one, is that I forgot.
[33:11] Andrew: The biggest thing I forgot is how much they have to cram into these 45 minute episodes.
[33:17] Alison: We start this episode.
[33:19] Andrew: I don't know anybody.
[33:20] Alison: I don't know a single goddamn person on the show.
[33:22] Andrew: I think the episode zero does provide context.
[33:25] Alison: Right a little bit.
[33:28] Andrew: I will say, I I almost am gonna say like the opposite, because when I watched these episodes in 2021 for the first time, and I haven't watched them since airing.
[33:38] Alison: That was the first time that I watched them since airing.
[33:40] Andrew: I was convinced that these episodes were 30 minutes.
[33:42] Alison: I was like, they sh they surely can't be more than that.
[33:47] Andrew: But no, I felt that they were like long, surprisingly.
[33:51] Alison: But it was filled.
[33:52] Andrew: It was chock full of stuff.
[33:55] Alison: Like we go straight into "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."
[34:00] Andrew: It was like, hey guys, everybody, you guys got this assignment, sing it.
[34:04] Alison: Right.
[34:05] Andrew: Like here comes here comes the guest mentor.
[34:07] Alison: Wait, so before we get like um beat by beat, a general idea of like what did you think about this episode?
[34:13] Andrew: Like first blush reaction.
[34:14] Alison: Um it was just funny to watch, like having seen having one met so many of these people, and also knowing how it turns out and also knowing some of the behind the scenes stuff about like how they edited this show.
[34:33] Andrew: Right.
[34:33] Alison: Um, just to make some people look really, really terrible.
[34:37] Andrew: And um, so it was it was an interesting watch.
[34:42] Alison: I liked it.
[34:43] Andrew: I'm I'm really I because I have not watched this.
[34:46] Alison: I mean, when we've had people on the show in the past, I've watched like clips and I've watched performances, but I haven't watched like this entire season.
[34:57] Andrew: The full context.
[34:59] Alison: Really, really cuckoo bananas.
[35:01] Andrew: Yeah.
[35:02] Alison: Um, I I like it.
[35:06] Andrew: It's fun.
[35:06] Alison: It's just a fun watch.
[35:07] Andrew: So the episode starts um and they do like a little like brief recap, and they're like, if you've been living under a rock and you don't know what this show is, and guess what?
[35:15] Alison: We don't.
[35:15] Andrew: I don't know what to do.
[35:16] Alison: For the sake of talking about truck work, we don't know what the what show you're talking about.
[35:20] Andrew: Exactly.
[35:21] Alison: Um and also like it's kind of cookie bananas, and I don't know if they're like painting Ryan in a like a bad bad light, maybe, to be like, um, Ryan Murphy just realized that like these characters are gonna be graduating.
[35:37] Andrew: And I'm like, wait a minute.
[35:38] Alison: Wait a second.
[35:40] Andrew: Did you not know?
[35:41] Alison: I'm not sure.
[35:41] Andrew: What did you think was gonna happen?
[35:43] Alison: I wonder who thought of the idea for the Glee Project, because I think at this time there was a show about finding El Woods on Broadway.
[35:53] Andrew: There was Grease, you're the one that I want, which was finding uh Danny Zuko and Sandy for Grease on Broadway.
[36:01] Alison: Right.
[36:01] Andrew: Um, and I'm wondering if that had something to do with this.
[36:05] Alison: Because they wanted to do like a reality television to like they were like, this is we are at the apex of this show's popularity.
[36:13] Andrew: Right.
[36:13] Alison: How can we milk this for all it's worth?
[36:15] Andrew: The Apex milk it.
[36:17] Alison: What was on oxygen acme was uh anybody do the New York Times crossword today?
[36:24] Andrew: Not me.
[36:25] Alison: While drinking their coffee this morning.
[36:26] Andrew: Um words was four letters across, pinnacle.
[36:34] Alison: And I think it was Acme.
[36:37] Andrew: Which I really I thought that was like the Looney Tunes Explosives company.
[36:42] Alison: Right, right, right, right.
[36:44] Andrew: Yeah.
[36:44] Alison: Also grocery store.
[36:46] Andrew: Anyway.
[36:46] Alison: Um so the episode starts and they really just get into it.
[36:49] Andrew: What's going on?
[36:50] Alison: Is that a grocery store?
[36:52] Andrew: A grocery store for me.
[36:53] Alison: North Northeast.
[36:54] Andrew: Not for you.
[36:55] Alison: No, not for me.
[36:56] Andrew: We have Cub Foods.
[36:58] Alison: Anyways.
[36:59] Andrew: Anyway.
[37:01] Alison: So Darren Criss walks out, and they're immediately like, okay, sign seal delivered, go.
[37:07] Andrew: Do it.
[37:08] Alison: Can I just say it looks like, and I love you, Darren, you know this.
[37:13] Andrew: He rolled right out of bed.
[37:14] Alison: He rolled right out of bed for this.
[37:16] Andrew: Yeah.
[37:16] Alison: He's wearing his glasses.
[37:18] Andrew: He looks, I wrote I wrote down, he looks so Tumblr.
[37:23] Alison: Like he just looks like such a fluffy young man, and it reminds me a lot of a very potter musical days and a very potter musical Tumblr content.
[37:34] Andrew: Um so that kind of made me happy.
[37:36] Alison: But um yeah, he does look I wonder when they recorded this.
[37:41] Andrew: Well, I think that this was this was Glee Project Season 1 was like done in the back end of season two production.
[37:52] Alison: Mm-hmm.
[37:53] Andrew: So he's heavily in the show.
[37:55] Alison: He could have been like exhausted.
[37:57] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[37:59] Alison: At Darren Criss, tell us why you were wearing glasses.
[38:02] Andrew: Tell us what you do you remember this day?
[38:04] Alison: Do you remember this?
[38:04] Andrew: Why were you wearing glasses?
[38:05] Alison: Were your contacts itchy?
[38:07] Andrew: Like, come on the podcast and tell us, please.
[38:09] Alison: Please.
[38:10] Andrew: For nothing else.
[38:11] Alison: It astounds me that they went from 40,000 people.
[38:16] Andrew: Totally.
[38:17] Alison: Um that is a Taylor Swift size stadium.
[38:20] Andrew: Uh huh.
[38:20] Alison: Down to 12.
[38:21] Andrew: Yep.
[38:22] Alison: Mm-hmm.
[38:23] Andrew: That blows my mind, and it it reminds me that they like did online auditions.
[38:29] Alison: Right.
[38:29] Andrew: That you uploaded a video.
[38:31] Alison: Um, which was I think how Damien got on the show.
[38:34] Andrew: We'll find out when we watch episode zero.
[38:37] Alison: But um, but um there's just a lot of stuff that's not shown.
[38:41] Andrew: Like, I love the introduction.
[38:43] Alison: Like, I love the first episode of The Bachelor, because it's just kind of a throwaway episode where you're just meeting the girls.
[38:48] Andrew: Yeah, but um, at least they walk in and they can show you a little bit of their personality and you kind of get the lay of the land, like, oh, all these girls are gonna be living in this one house.
[38:59] Alison: Whereas in Glee Project, it's just like perform.
[39:02] Andrew: Perform.
[39:03] Alison: So we want to um do you wanna do like a speed run of like all the contestants and be like, okay, who hear who they are?
[39:10] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[39:11] Alison: Off the top of my head.
[39:12] Andrew: Yeah, let's do it.
[39:14] Alison: Alex Newell.
[39:16] Andrew: Alex Newell.
[39:17] Alison: Um, yeah.
[39:18] Andrew: Well, we know, we know King Queen, everything.
[39:22] Alison: Yeah.
[39:22] Andrew: Royalty.
[39:23] Alison: Um, Lindsay Pierce, Lindsay, yeah, Alpha Bug.
[39:27] Andrew: Yeah.
[39:28] Alison: Um, well, wait, let's let's paint them in the way that they're um in the in the light that they're shine.
[39:34] Andrew: Scarves.
[39:35] Alison: Scarves, uh really dramatic, really loud.
[39:38] Andrew: Um everybody's wearing hats as well.
[39:43] Alison: And also everybody is very loud, so I feel like that's not really being specific.
[39:47] Andrew: It's true.
[39:48] Alison: They're all loud wearing hats and scarves.
[39:50] Andrew: That's the entire show.
[39:51] Alison: Yeah.
[39:52] Andrew: I think even Cameron at one point wears a hat.
[39:54] Alison: Yeah, I'm sure.
[39:55] Andrew: Wait for it.
[39:56] Alison: Wait for it, everybody.
[39:57] Andrew: You're gonna be like, oh, there's the hat.
[40:00] Alison: Uh who's next?
[40:01] Andrew: Um, okay wait.
[40:02] Alison: Alex, Lindsay, Cameron.
[40:05] Andrew: We've talked at length about um Hannah.
[40:08] Alison: Hannah.
[40:09] Andrew: Love it.
[40:09] Alison: She is she's just Queen.
[40:11] Andrew: She is just like that girl in the um at school.
[40:15] Andrew: That's just like, you know, she gets it. You go up to her, she's a good time.
[40:20] Alison: Mm-hmm. She's gonna get it.
[40:21] Andrew: Um, Marissa.
[40:24] Alison: Marissa, she's a little bit like more mysterious.
[40:27] Andrew: Yeah, she's most likely to be in a shampoo commercial.
[40:30] Alison: Right, whatever that means.
[40:31] Andrew: Yeah.
[40:31] Alison: Emily, big time flirt.
[40:33] Andrew: She's hilarious.
[40:35] Alison: She is so funny.
[40:37] Andrew: So funny.
[40:37] Alison: Um, and just, yeah, just publicly horny.
[40:40] Andrew: I know.
[40:41] Alison: I love it.
[40:42] Andrew: Ellis.
[40:43] Alison: Ellis.
[40:44] Andrew: I'm gonna have some opinions about Ellis that you might be surprised by.
[40:47] Alison: Ellis, Ellis' entire brand is like, yeah, I'm small. What so what if I smoke a cigarette?
[40:55] Andrew: Um, Bryce.
[40:57] Alison: Bryce, I have opinions about him as well.
[41:01] Andrew: Bryce is he wears a hat as well, and also his thing is that he's bad at singing.
[41:08] Alison: Um, Damien McGinty.
[41:10] Andrew: Damien McGinty's thing is that he's Irish and sometimes needs subtitles later on in the season. Get ready for it.
[41:15] Alison: McKinley, she is even more mysterious.
[41:18] Andrew: Country queen.
[41:19] Alison: Than, yeah, yeah.
[41:21] Andrew: Samuel Larson.
[41:22] Alison: Samuel Larson is Drew's.
[41:25] Andrew: He's so sexy to me.
[41:27] Alison: He is so attractive.
[41:28] Andrew: And also, like, mysterious.
[41:29] Alison: I would say he's mysterious.
[41:30] Andrew: Yes, I would agree with that.
[41:31] Alison: And then don't tell me who the last person is.
[41:36] Andrew: Oh, oh, yeah.
[41:37] Alison: Mateus.
[41:38] Andrew: You got it.
[41:39] Alison: Mateus.
[41:39] Andrew: Mateus is loud, again, a word that we've used already.
[41:43] Alison: Yeah.
[41:43] Andrew: Uh, Mateus is always doing a body roll.
[41:46] Alison: Always has an excuse to do a body roll.
[41:48] Andrew: And take off his shirt.
[41:49] Alison: Yeah.
[41:50] Andrew: Mm-hmm.
[41:50] Alison: Mm-hmm.
[41:51] Andrew: Um, I'm like, okay, you do you.
[41:54] Alison: Um, what did we think of Sign Seal Delivered?
[41:58] Andrew: I did have it on my iPod.
[42:00] Alison: Oh, I was gonna pull up my iTunes for everybody.
[42:04] Andrew: I did not have any of the Glee Project songs on my iPod, and Gleeks maybe.
[42:08] Alison: I'm very surprised to find that out.
[42:10] Andrew: Really?
[42:11] Alison: Um, I just, I never, it never made its way onto the library for me.
[42:17] Andrew: God, all I want to listen to.
[42:19] Alison: I know that we're in season one, literally episode one, but all I want to listen to is I've been waiting for good.
[42:28] Andrew: Thank you. Some Blake Jenner and Nelly up in here, baby.
[42:32] Alison: And I will say this for a number of these like homework assignments that they do during Glee Project, but it I just think there's something so equally cringy and also endearing about these homework assignments.
[42:43] Andrew: The fact that they only get like three lines to sing each and a couple hours of practice.
[42:51] Alison: It's very sloppy, but it's like very cute.
[42:55] Andrew: It's just like each person is trying to be the main character, and it's so as a viewer, I love watching it.
[43:03] Alison: I know.
[43:03] Andrew: And there are parts of the song that I'm like, oh Bryce's line is coming up.
[43:09] Alison: Yep, here it comes.
[43:11] Andrew: I know it, I know here it comes.
[43:13] Alison: Um, I wonder if I have I'm slowly opening my Apple music.
[43:17] Andrew: Slowly to see, well, you know my computer.
[43:21] Alison: Um, yeah, and it was I have Sign Still Delivered, Firework, Keep Holding On, Cameron Mitchell, We're Not Gonna Take It.
[43:27] Andrew: Mad World, Your Song Part Two.
[43:29] Alison: You Can't Touch This, Baby It's Cold Outside, Under Pressure, Teenage Dream and Blackbird.
[43:33] Andrew: And then from season two, I have Losing My Religion, and then the other one is like Here I Go Again, everybody heard me's like Jagger price tag.
[43:45] Alison: Yeah, I had a lot of um, and I would just like I had an entire playlist that was just Glee Project songs, and I would just play them on repeat.
[43:55] Andrew: Yeah, no, it's good.
[43:56] Alison: They did have some bops.
[43:57] Andrew: When we do get to um moves like Jagger, Milkshake, yeah.
[44:01] Alison: Oh that change music.
[44:03] Andrew: Yeah.
[44:04] Alison: Um, but yeah, this performance, uh it is kind of, and I don't know if you had that you felt the same way, and I hope this isn't a spoiler, but I I'm positive that it isn't.
[44:17] Andrew: You must know that Damien McGuinty and Samuel Larson win, right?
[44:23] Alison: At this point.
[44:24] Andrew: At this point, you must know, right?
[44:25] Alison: And then um, and then Alex Newell and Lindsay Pierce.
[44:29] Andrew: But I think it's like do you know like the order beyond that?
[44:33] Alison: I know I know it pretty well, actually.
[44:35] Andrew: I know I know that um I knew that spoiler alert, Bryce is gonna be gone, but um, because this is the only song that he's in, but um I mean some of the intricacies I'm a little lost on, but I know who stays till the end.
[44:51] Alison: I know who like sticks around.
[44:53] Andrew: Um, I Cameron's oo!
[44:58] Alison: Oh my god.
[45:00] Andrew: He spoiler alert, he does that every episode.
[45:03] Alison: Do you like when he does that?
[45:04] Andrew: No.
[45:05] Alison: I love it when he does it.
[45:06] Andrew: Oh, I love it when he riffs do it every time.
[45:08] Alison: I literally wrote down Cameron does the thing.
[45:11] Andrew: That is the thing that he does.
[45:13] Alison: I know.
[45:13] Andrew: Hannah sounded really good.
[45:15] Alison: Hannah sounded really good.
[45:16] Andrew: I'm gonna say at the end of this episode, I want you to also choose an MVP.
[45:21] Alison: My MVP for this episode, Ellis.
[45:25] Andrew: She really Cameron Mitchell.
[45:28] Alison: Camera Mitchell.
[45:29] Andrew: Yeah, it's gonna be my answer every single time.
[45:30] Alison: Is it gonna be every episode, Cameron Mitchell?
[45:32] Andrew: No matter what he does.
[45:34] Alison: No matter what he does, because I'm emulating who I was when I watched this show growing up.
[45:40] Andrew: Um, I and I at the end of this song, the only last thing I have to say about Science Heel Delivered at the end I hear Alex Newell totally like I hear Alex's voice come through um at the very end when everybody's singing and it's very good yeah no I mean sounds great Tony Award winning voice hello uh duh um but I will say that Darren Chris absolutely chose the correct person to win okay I was watching it I was like this is who I would choose and Darren in solidarity with me always you would choose Mateus I would choose yeah we would we both choose Mateus I loved how Darren was like Ellis how old are you first question I hear first question and then I wrote it down she she responds I'm 18 I swear and I'm like girl uh don't say that like they are so young on this show that's another thing she's 18 Hannah's 19 they're like 19 22 Damien is 18 yeah they are so so young like but I was thinking because like I think Bryce on a reality show Bryce is 22 and I'm like the 2218 age gap is huge.
[46:57] Alison: Yes.
[46:58] Andrew: And so I'm like that must feel strange.
[47:01] Alison: I don't know who else is like at that 22 mark I think that Emily might also be up there.
[47:06] Andrew: Yeah I feel like Emily is um yeah is the oldest Cassie is saying she was 22.
[47:12] Alison: Yeah um yeah I was saying, I wrote down, wait, did the intro play right before this?
[47:18] Andrew: How do we know these people um and I did, Hannah was so excited about firework.
[47:25] Alison: I was like, I wish the Gleeks, I wish the Gleeks would get so excited for firework.
[47:29] Andrew: They said wait.
[47:31] Alison: What are you talking about?
[47:33] Andrew: As in the Glackett.
[47:35] Alison: Can we refer to the Glacket?
[47:37] Andrew: We can refer to the Glackett.
[47:39] Alison: Okay.
[47:39] Andrew: Okay, okay.
[47:40] Alison: I understand what you're saying then.
[47:42] Andrew: Um, yeah, okay.
[47:45] Alison: And so, yeah, um, I wrote down Ellis is a family guy character.
[47:50] Andrew: Do you think that Ellis is a family guy character to me?
[47:53] Alison: She could pull off what's uh Mila Kunis's Meg.
[48:01] Andrew: She could, but I just hurt that she's just like, she's just so friggin' funny to me.
[48:05] Alison: That like she is just she is pretty funny.
[48:07] Andrew: She's sassy.
[48:08] Alison: A wise cracking baby, you know.
[48:11] Andrew: I'm just like, that's so that's so funny.
[48:14] Alison: I want an entire movie around you.
[48:17] Andrew: Oh my god.
[48:18] Alison: Yeah, Ellis is definitely a character.
[48:21] Andrew: I'm watching the preview for next episode, I'm except excited for next week for the Ellis Arc.
[48:27] Alison: Um, but we go from Science Still Delivered, Mateus is chosen as the winner that week.
[48:33] Andrew: He's gonna have a little private sesh with Darren, um, which we don't see right away.
[48:38] Alison: This whole show is told in such a like it's like a Mateus time episode that it's like Yeah, it's like, oh yeah, remember when I got to do that?
[48:47] Andrew: It's like, oh whoa.
[48:48] Alison: No, the bachelor would never do this to me.
[48:51] Andrew: Please stop.
[48:52] Alison: The bachelor understands my tiny brain when it comes to Exactly, exactly.
[48:55] Andrew: I need things put straightforward in front of me and easy to digest.
[48:59] Alison: Yeah.
[48:59] Andrew: Um, we go to a dancing session where we meet Brooke, vocal adrenaline queen, mommy.
[49:06] Alison: Um, and uh Zach says something along the lines of you need to dance.
[49:06] Andrew: You need to dance and you need to nail down these dance moves as soon as possible for continuity.
[49:20] Alison: And I was like, Zach, I know your resume and the big show that you work on.
[49:26] Andrew: Where's the continuity in that big show that you've been working on?
[49:30] Alison: This big show that you've been working on.
[49:32] Andrew: Exactly.
[49:32] Alison: Where's the continuity there?
[49:34] Andrew: No, he's talking, he's talking about continuity between shots.
[49:37] Alison: He's not talking about like about a certain character, maybe maybe or maybe not having a baby and forgetting about it.
[49:47] Andrew: Fair.
[49:47] Alison: Fair enough.
[49:48] Andrew: But I love Zach and Brooke.
[49:50] Alison: Oh my god, I need a I need a television series about them.
[49:53] Andrew: They're so trigging, cute, and fun.
[49:56] Alison: I want them to live inside of my Alexa.
[49:58] Andrew: Yeah.
[49:59] Alison: And like say things to me throughout the day.
[50:02] Andrew: Um, they jumped into the studio with Nikki.
[50:06] Alison: Well, I mean, we need to talk about the fact that that Bryce had his first fumble.
[50:11] Andrew: Bryce takes a fumble.
[50:12] Alison: Um, yeah, he's not good at dancing.
[50:14] Andrew: He was He's not good at dancing, and he's honestly like made to feel worse about it, which I could not watch without cringing.
[50:23] Alison: I was just like, oh no.
[50:24] Andrew: I was like, if you're gonna draw further attention to it, Zach, I don't like you.
[50:30] Alison: Well, especially when they're like, oh, we don't need the best dancers, we don't need the best singers, we just need somebody we can write for.
[50:37] Andrew: Which I have opinions about.
[50:39] Alison: I feel like we're so all over the place, and this is such uh with the nature of starting a recap.
[50:45] Andrew: But like, I just think that they put it the show that we're talking about.
[50:48] Alison: Totally.
[50:49] Andrew: Um, but like they're putting so much ownership on these.
[50:54] Alison: I mean, they're not legally children, but they're children at heart.
[50:58] Andrew: They're putting so much ownership on them to like come prepared with a kid.
[51:04] Alison: Yeah, why are you not perfect?
[51:06] Andrew: Yeah, it's like, oh, I can't write for you, so it's like, what is your worth?
[51:09] Alison: You're literally 18.
[51:10] Andrew: You have your entire life ahead of you.
[51:12] Alison: Mm-hmm.
[51:13] Andrew: Like, I don't actually know how to write for you, and so like, what are you who are you?
[51:18] Alison: What are you what what were you made for, Billy Eilish?
[51:21] Andrew: What was I made for?
[51:24] Alison: Um, we go into the studio with Nikki Anders.
[51:27] Andrew: Bryce has a flop, and Nikki says to somebody, I can't remember who it was.
[51:35] Alison: She says, it just sounds like you're singing.
[51:38] Andrew: I think she says that to Marissa.
[51:40] Alison: It just sounds like you're singing.
[51:42] Andrew: It's like you're you sound too pretty.
[51:44] Alison: Is that is that not the point?
[51:46] Andrew: Yeah.
[51:46] Alison: What is the point here?
[51:47] Andrew: What is the point?
[51:48] Alison: I will say, um, Queen D Queen Nikki Dominant absolutely is like I know that they are trying to make this a villain elite a villain edit for Lindsay.
[51:59] Andrew: But don't get it twisted.
[52:01] Alison: The real villain is behind the scenes.
[52:04] Andrew: Yep.
[52:05] Alison: And that is Nikki Anders.
[52:07] Andrew: Yes.
[52:07] Alison: I will say that it it became very apparent to me watching it yesterday that when that first shot of like the the introductory shot of Nikki when she's walking down the hallway.
[52:18] Andrew: I'm like, she asked for that.
[52:20] Alison: And she was like, with a gun.
[52:22] Andrew: She was like, you better give me a good introductory shot.
[52:26] Alison: Exactly.
[52:27] Andrew: And then also her confessional.
[52:29] Alison: I don't know if you caught this too.
[52:30] Andrew: Baby girl was well lit.
[52:32] Alison: Yes.
[52:33] Andrew: The confessionals are so unflattering.
[52:36] Alison: Naturally.
[52:37] Andrew: Like they use one ring light.
[52:39] Alison: Queen Nikki.
[52:40] Andrew: They use one ring light, and then they don't even like help the people that wear glasses.
[52:46] Alison: Well, Cameron needs to take off glasses for the confessional.
[52:49] Andrew: Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't.
[52:51] Alison: Okay.
[52:52] Andrew: Um.
[52:53] Alison: Because yeah, I noticed that.
[52:55] Andrew: The editing does not put Lindsay in a good light.
[53:00] Alison: It doesn't it's so important.
[53:03] Andrew: We're in the uh at the point in the episode where Lindsay goes to sing for Queen Nikki.
[53:10] Alison: And um Queen Nikki Dominant Prominent.
[53:13] Andrew: Uh and Lindsay does the confessional where she's like, I'm classic classically trained soprano or some something.
[53:20] Alison: And I'm like, girl, you are literally lending yourself to the villain edit.
[53:24] Andrew: But she's also a child.
[53:26] Alison: She's also a child, and we do have a lot of different things.
[53:28] Andrew: And you can hear the editing in it.
[53:30] Alison: You can hear the I'm the best singer in here.
[53:34] Andrew: So that's why I'm not having difficulty.
[53:37] Andrew: And it's like, oh, I hear, I hear it. I hear it and I see the clips. The sick part is, and not to throw you under the bus, but like you fell victim for it. And I think I prefer too. Oh, for 100%. I will admit that I fell victim to it. Because I was also a child. A child, consumer media. At least I never, I mean, I yeah, don't bully people online. Period. Don't bully people online. Stop it. I'll be the first to say. Um even though we say Queen Nikki dominant prominent, we love her. She's an adult. This all comes from love. We don't bully children online. Queen Nikki Dominant needs to do that. Exactly. Needs to do that? No, she already is doing that. Um, but yeah, okay. Um, yeah, so they're all singing.
They're all singing. Um, Bryce is just like just bad on all accounts. And I will say, and I don't know if I've ever said this publicly on this podcast before, however, I believe that they brought the person that's also um that goes home the first week of season two, as well as Bryce, they brought both of these people on just so they can eliminate them first, just so they can like as like a quasi-episode where they're like, hey, let's introduce everybody else, but also show what the stakes are, and just like sacrifice this character that's this character, this this contestant that's bad. But now that I've grown and my my taste in men has matured with age, Bryce so sexy to me. I think after I don't think Bryce then sexy again, 22 years old.
No, right. But I think Bryce now maybe. I was looking up his Instagram. Uh-huh. I was like, okay, okay, I see what you're doing. I see what you're doing. You are very attractive. Okay. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I would like to take a swing on his Bryce Vine. Oh. Who said that? Who said that? Me. Me. I did. They go from in the studio to filming the video. Filming the music video for fireworks. And if I have to hear Ellis sing, you're a fight, your work. One more fucking time. No. I wanted to scream. I wanted to scream. Um. She's my MVP. She can do no wrong. Oh, but Ellis and Hannah are sitting in the like dorm area eating breakfast, and that's spread. That spread. It was crazy. Oh my god. I was like, oh, spread.
There was there was like orange. It was minute made, but like they could only they had to blur the minute made. Yes. Big juice, big fruit. They had honey. I thought it was a bottle of ketchup, but it was actually honey. Um, but yeah, they had a lot of stuff to get them ready for. And as well as, and they come back to this consistently with like the previously on on Glee project, the cheese lamp. The cheese lamp that Hannah brought attention to is like a consistent, it is a can contestant within itself. And I'm like, I don't like not to be real for a second, but I'm just like, girl, there I don't like that this character is like, oh, look, cheese. I don't like that. That doesn't make me feel good.
She's the funny girl. I don't like it. Funny girl starring Leah Michelle. Starring Hannah. Make it happen. Um, they are I my notes are like, I forgot how much they are truly packing into this motherfucking show. Um, because we cut from they're like, oh yeah, Mateus had a behind the scenes thing with Darren. And then we cut to that for like 30 seconds. And I say that they look like they look like brothers. They look related. Okay. I'm glad that we agree. Yeah. And um, Darren, he must be tired because he doesn't even give like a sad chuckle at Mateus's, oh, I gotta stay grounded. Well, I'm pretty close to the ground. Wait, I interpreted that completely different because I thought it was like one of those like self-deprecating jokes that like if if I laughed at it, then it would just be like, wait, why'd you laugh at that?
You know, but it's if I think it was a joke that was meant to be shared. You think so? At his expense, but like something for Darren. He's like, oh my god, it's Darren fucking Chris. I want to make Darren Christmas. No, I was just like, if I was there, I'd just be like, I would do the same thing where I'm like ignoring that. Like, I can't, I don't feel comfortable laughing to that joke. What's a joke that you would make about yourself that you wouldn't want people to laugh at? Well, I think that that was that was uh a joke that was self-deprecating at the at his height, you know? Like if someone made a self-deprecating joke about their weight or anything like mar that marginalizes yourself, you just don't react to it.
I think that's how that's how I would react. It would depend on the person. If I if it's like, okay, this is the first time I'm meeting this person, which was the example of of Mateus and Darren. I don't know how to play this. You know? I don't know what Mateus is like. Mateus might be like, wait a minute, why'd you laugh at that? Yeah. Why do you think that's Alison Alison in the chat agrees with me? Allison in the video does not. Um and then we go back to the video again. And McKinley, so good. I forgot about her. McKinley is so good. So I I think I just like skipped like the whole filming of it, but it's such a quick filming of it. All we really get is Emily is being flirty and is flipping her hair, and she's like, Yeah, I'm good at that.
And I'm like, Slay mama, okay. Um, Bryce has a creative idea that Zach hates, and it's interpreted as giving attitude. Totally. Fuck off. Fuck off. I'm so glad that we agree about that. Um, because yeah, I can see like the angle where you're like, okay, stay in your lane, Bryce. But also not to talk about a TV show that this reality television series is based on. But there may have been the main actress that personified a lot of those qualities of like requesting things. Hey, I want my voice heard in this fucking production that I'm a fucking part of. Hey, yeah, I would like I would like this to be a collaborative experience. Right. And so just like having that in mind while watching Bryce make an attempt to be like, hey, like, how about like this angle?
Which I thought was a great angle. And I thought it was a great note. And I think uh watching the video back, I was like, this actually really made sense. And I liked the creative input. Do I think that you have a good voice? No. But you haven't heard Yeah, the next Drew Barry. Oh, I've listened to Drew Barry more, but I'm saying in 2011. Yeah, he did not have a good voice in here. This is what we're working with right now. This is quite possibly the cheesiest set of music videos you will ever watch. I don't know. I don't know why that man wants to tout that he did a P. Diddy video one time. Because these videos are so cheesy. I'm like, what? What? They're cheese and cheese on cheese. Cheese lamp.
Cheese lamp. Um The Body Rolls from Mateus. If there's one, there's a million. But he does sound absolutely incredible at the end. Yeah, I would agree. Yeah. I just um I think that the the green screen leaves a lot to be desired. I'm like you you have the budget. Yep. Have him go out into a field and shoot those fireworks up into the sky. I aye. Mm-hmm. I need it. I don't want this green screen. It looks very green screen. It looks terrible. Yeah. Um go ahead. I was like, most likely to go his own way. Let's who was that? Let's talk about these. Samuel Larson. We're just gonna go through these most likely superlatives. Um, so Alex was most likely to be fashion designer, which does make sense.
You wear a scarf, you're fashion. You are fashion. You are fashion. That's how Kurt. That's how Kurt began. I didn't understand at first why Alex was like touting this um measuring tape the entire shoe. I was like, what is what is that for? Now I get it. I get it, I get it. Um Bryce was heartbreaker. Yep. Cameron was nerd forever, which does make me want to throw up all over the place. Um Damien, most likely to be a soap star? What does that even mean? What the fuck? Soap star? I don't get it. Ellis, most likely to be a child forever. Forever. Emily, most likely to be a swim set swimsuit model. Hannah, most most likely to be class clown, which wouldn't you already be Yeah, you're already waiting class clown, babe.
Yeah, you would just devoted class clown. Um, Lindsay did not like this one. Did you did you catch this one? Most likely to start a charity. What? What? Wait. Like, that doesn't even line up anything with her. No, no. Where's the thought process in this? Were they just given this? Right. Um, and Marissa most likely to be in a shampoo commercial. Lame. That was like they were they were like, okay. Um Mateus, most likely to be a fitness instructor. Sure. I'll actually give them that. Umanda's like, high schoolers love daytime soaps. I came home at lunchtime every day to watch Young of the Resless. I love my soaps. I love it. Uh McKinley, most likely to be a country bumpkin, which I do love, knowing that Baby Girl's in Shucky Shucked.
Um I don't like that I called it Shucky Shuck. Wife of Shucky. Wife of Shucky. Wife of Shucky. And then finally, Samuel, most likely to go his own way. Yeah. What the fuck does that mean? Entrepreneur vibes? I guess. What would be your superlative? I actually got a superlative in high school. Really? It's the least, it's it's the most boring superlative. Did you get one? Um, I was almost voted most likely to succeed, but I did not succeed in that. In that's a metaphor for the rest of my life. Wait a minute. Wait, how close were you? Like, very close. What does that mean? Like, were you in the like it was it a public running? It wasn't. Wow. Wait, that's really impressive. I lost two of a friend.
And she did deserve it. I think that they should honestly get rid of the most likely to succeed. Yeah. Superlatively. I think that's just that's so rude. Pressure. Yeah. And like it's still following you to this day. And so I can still think about it. Clearly. What did you get? Class Club? I got, I got most organized male. That was not a superlative at my school. No, okay. Um Allison in the chat is saying, male as an N-A-I-L. No, I assure you that I am the most organized male identifying person that graduated from my high school in that class. And yeah, like I shared it with uh I don't want to say Samantha. I won't say her last name. Okay. But she was most organized female. Yeah. And so we we both got binders.
Cool. Cool. Cool. To stay organized. I remember I um I posted a picture with her that day that we got the superlative with our binders, and I made the caption, these hoes ain't tidy. That's kind of funny. Carousel. That's like I think that I might have archived that, so you need to ask for it. I need to go find it in the archive. Find it for me. Um Becca Turpin. Becca was um voted most super in eighth grade. That's a good one. That's a good superlative. That is very, very good. I sometimes say in interviews, like if it if it's a natural like come-up, like if it naturally comes up in the conversation, I will announce I will reveal that I was most organized male. Wow. I'm like, they want that.
They want to know that. They'll eat it up. They want it. Um before the bottom three. So we have the video. Then we're revealed what the fucking bottom three is going to be. It is going to be the coaches deciding the bottom three, and then the bottom three will perform for Ryan. Ryan. Ryan.
[1:07:01] Andrew: Oh my gosh. And we haven't discussed the escaped, the escaped Disney animatronic himself, Robert Ulrich. But um he is such a king. I do. I love him so much. So he's so effortlessly hilarious. So the bottom three is going to be the coaches are going to decide the three people, and they're gonna have the chance to perform for Ryan Murphy. I was like, I love read books to me while I fall asleep. Um everyone, this is Darren Criss. This is from playing Blaine Anderson on Glee. And they've prepared audio medium. We're doing like very um picture. Welcome to this is we love Robert Ulrich. Robert Ulrich follows Gleek of the Week. He regularly and I will say that, and I think this is so hilarious and completely on brand for um Robert Ulrich that he uh will only he will he will vote in the poll.
Like it doesn't matter how good the song is, if there is a Glee Project contestant in the poll, he will be voting for that. He will vote for that song. It doesn't matter if it's against like a dromp. He's like, I'm voting for that. Oh my god, I love that so much. Um yeah, uh absolutely Thomas, absolutely on autopilot. I think he's just hilarious. I really want to talk to him. I need to let him know that I do have a sweater that says the list is up, go take a look. Um, but the scene that they have all together with um the crew before they find out who's in the bottom three. Um Cameron's like, I wouldn't be surprised if Hannah was in the bottom for three. Like the funny only goes so far. Like, shut up.
I'm just like, even if that is edited, that is a douchey thing to say. It absolutely was edited. Go listen to it back. Like he's he's like in the middle of a conversation, like he says like a phrase, and you can tell by like the diction. It like completely drops off. Um, but I just think that that was like bad uh a bad play by Cameron Mitchell.
[1:09:19] Alison: Yeah. That's your friend. That's your friend and also the easily the most likable person here.
[1:09:24] Andrew: Yeah. So please check yourself. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
[1:09:28] Alison: Absolutely.
[1:09:29] Andrew: Um exactly. What Alison, exactly. What a toxic. So who do we all think was the worst this week?
[1:09:35] Alison: What a toxic question to even start.
[1:09:38] Andrew: Right. Uh-huh. Don't fucking say that. I get that we're 19, and we're all theater kids, so we're all thinking it.
[1:09:44] Alison: Right.
[1:09:45] Andrew: And it's it's giving like what is that? What is that TikTok sound is like? So who at the table do you trust the least?
[1:09:50] Alison: The least.
[1:09:55] Andrew: It's like very that. Who do you hate?
[1:09:57] Alison: So who do you hate?
[1:09:58] Andrew: But I will say the silver lining of this entire scene is Mateus' fit. Um, it is a very hilarious fit. He has these like tiny little like shades on and like a backwards beret. And I'm like, ooh, steal that fit. I need it. King. Fashion. King. King's gonna be. Most likely to be a fashion designer. Most likely to be Fashion Inspo.
[1:10:20] Alison: I know.
[1:10:21] Andrew: We find out that the bottom three is gonna be Ellis, Bryce, and Damien. And they're given the songs Ellis. I do love how they're like assigned songs. That's fun for me. Ellis gets Big Spender. Is this this must be before Sugar?
[1:10:38] Alison: This is yeah.
[1:10:39] Andrew: This the next episode of Sugacted Sugar will have Big Spender. Sugar, the product that you buy. Sugar product and glee. The noun that we all have to have in our in our hearts. Um Bryce gets uh Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars. Come on.
[1:11:01] Alison: Yeah, you can't.
[1:11:02] Andrew: Damien, I'm so tired. Damien um is gonna sing Jesse's Girl, which he does not know that song at all. Which is so shocking to me that like a lot of these songs are um like songs that were on this show.
[1:11:23] Alison: Exactly.
[1:11:23] Andrew: If you didn't watch the show, how do you not know Jesse's girl? I remember being so mad as a child watching this show because I'm like, you don't even deserve to be here, bitch. Yeah, fuck off. I should be on the Glee project. Like, you don't even know what goddamn Jesse's girl is, and you like literally in the last scene, it's like me as a gleek, I'm a gliek, and world's biggest gleek, and I'm like, shut the fuck up. But like, I'm I'm over it. I'm not gatekeeping. They really choose the most random times to really care about the theme of the week.
[1:11:54] Alison: Totally.
[1:11:55] Andrew: Like, I feel like we heard the word individuality and then never heard of it again. But I feel like tenacity over and over and over and over again by the end of this series.
[1:12:06] Alison: Yeah, on my ass.
[1:12:08] Andrew: Um so Damien sings Jesse's girl. Um, but I did think that it was funny that he was practicing to the GCV.
[1:12:19] Alison: I noticed that as well.
[1:12:20] Andrew: Yeah. I was like, that is crying on teeth. I I spotted that. That's definitely not Rick Springfield, I could tell you that much. I can tell you that much right there, baby doll. Um I who said um, I think Damien, or this must have been Damien because this is in my Damien notes. Damien was like, I'm not ready to go home. Like, or I think Ellis was like, I'm not ready to go home. That's nothing for me back there.
[1:12:47] Alison: Have you never watched I think you should leave?
[1:12:51] Andrew: No, I have. I can't watch it. I it's like it's too cringy for me.
[1:12:54] Alison: Have you?
[1:12:55] Andrew: It was cringy for me, and then I I pushed through and I really enjoy it. But um, there's a scene where he's pretending to be on The Bachelorette.
[1:13:03] Alison: Okay, I don't think I've seen that.
[1:13:05] Andrew: They're at a resort, and the guy, um Tim Erickson?
[1:13:11] Alison: No.
[1:13:11] Andrew: Tim Robertson?
[1:13:12] Alison: I don't know.
[1:13:13] Andrew: The guy Robinson.
[1:13:14] Alison: Tim Robinson.
[1:13:15] Andrew: Um he's at a resort and he just keeps ziplining. And he won't stop ziplining. Like, he doesn't, he's like, the girl's like, Tim, I noticed that like you weren't at at the dinners, like, and you weren't making an effort to go on dates with me because he's just zip lining. She's like, I have a feeling that you're just here for the zip line.
[1:13:38] Alison: And he's like, What? Why would you say that?
[1:13:41] Andrew: It's because you keep talking about the zip line, and then at the end, he's just like starts crying, and he's like, I can't go back home.
[1:13:49] Alison: Oh, okay.
[1:13:49] Andrew: There this stuff, the there's nothing.
[1:13:53] Alison: What's waiting for me back home is not good.
[1:13:55] Andrew: I know.
[1:13:56] Alison: The girl's like, what what's waiting for you back home?
[1:13:59] Andrew: Not good. Not good.
[1:14:03] Alison: And my phone is.
[1:14:06] Andrew: That she was even in like the mindset to even say that.
[1:14:10] Alison: I know.
[1:14:10] Andrew: That's it. Because I'm like, what did she say? What did you leave? You're 19. You're 18. I like you're leaving me with the impression that you left your town and you were like, bye. Like you just did this colossal lie where you were like, I'm cast on Glee, and everyone's like, yeah, we fucking love Glee. And if we don't see you on that goddamn show, we're gonna be fucking mad.
[1:14:30] Alison: We might even kill you.
[1:14:32] Andrew: Um we're gonna bring pitchforks to your house and burn it down. And Ellis is like, I can't go back there, please. I lied. I lied. Please give me a part on Glee.
[1:14:43] Alison: Um, I identified with Damien not being able to remember lyrics because I feel like I wouldn't be able to either, as much as that's so much pressure.
[1:14:53] Andrew: Yeah, that's a lot of pressure.
[1:14:55] Alison: Um I thought that Bryce's attitude that they kept talking about was dumb.
[1:15:02] Andrew: Dumb.
[1:15:03] Alison: Just like it's I feel like I've already said this, but I'm like, yeah, you can you can hate on him for not being able to dance, and yeah, you can hate on him for not being able to hold a note, but please do not hate on this man.
[1:15:17] Andrew: For having an attitude.
[1:15:19] Alison: Attitude.
[1:15:20] Andrew: Hard air quotes.
[1:15:21] Alison: Yeah.
[1:15:22] Andrew: That uh-uh.
[1:15:23] Alison: Mm-hmm.
[1:15:24] Andrew: Um I have a I have a guess that a few of only a few of the bottom three songs will be like the best song of the episode. Like I have a feeling those songs are heavily going to be um the main recording song, but I could be surprised.
[1:15:36] Alison: I could be surprised.
[1:15:45] Andrew: It's the randomness of the Glee the Gleckett project. I have my favorite of the episode. Um I will say that, okay, so we talked about Jesse's Girl by Damien. Let's talk about um Just the Way You Are by Bryce.
[1:15:57] Alison: Mm-hmm.
[1:15:59] Andrew: Just I I feel like that's my main note. An exasperated sigh. It is so dirty. Frigging bad.
[1:16:06] Alison: Yeah, it's bad.
[1:16:08] Andrew: Um, I don't know. It's just like I can't even do an impression.
[1:16:13] Alison: No, don't.
[1:16:14] Andrew: It's just but you know what was good? And you know what really lifted my suspenda. Can we agree that she absolutely Slatechel buried that?
[1:16:23] Alison: Yeah, I don't know who Slaychelberry is, but whoever that is.
[1:16:27] Andrew: Whoever that is, I'm assuming she slays.
[1:16:29] Alison: She slays.
[1:16:30] Andrew: Um yeah, everyone in the chat is absolutely agreeing.
[1:16:34] Alison: Yeah.
[1:16:34] Andrew: Um, yeah, and I just friggin' loved it. And I'm like, I would say that my bottom three, if I had to choose um wouldn't include um Ellis. I think that I would honestly include McKinley instead of Ellis.
[1:16:51] Alison: Well, they just didn't include her in anything.
[1:16:53] Andrew: I know that's the that's the only reason that I would include McKinley. Because I'm like, McKinley, it's like literally, I know that we've like pounded this reference into the ground, but like you're good waiting for you to be great.
[1:17:03] Alison: Like you didn't stand out to me.
[1:17:05] Andrew: It's literally McKinley in a nutshell. I that's like the editing on a reality show, though. If there's no attention given to you, you're not like in the bottom three.
[1:17:15] Alison: Yeah.
[1:17:16] Andrew: If there's no totally, it's just like how it is, and it's just weird editing. And if memory serves and when McKinley finally does go home, like she doesn't even have like a story to like leave on.
[1:17:29] Alison: They don't even they don't give they wasted wasted potential.
[1:17:29] Andrew: Wasted potential, wasted potential. And I'm only saying that because it's like McKinley would be in my bottom three because I'm like, I know what this girl can do. And it's very, very good. And I just wish that it was highlighted more.
[1:17:45] Alison: And you're holding yourself back, McKinley in 2011.
[1:17:48] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:17:49] Alison: Slay.
[1:17:50] Andrew: Slay.
[1:17:51] Alison: Um, so they do their final last chance performances for the Ryan Murphy.
[1:17:57] Andrew: Uh Ryan has a lot to say about what he could write for each person. Um, but uh in the end, the list is up, go take a look. The list is up, go. Bryce is the one to go home, and he will sing, keep holding on, uh, to wrap up the episode. But I wanted to ask the handwriting on that list.
[1:18:15] Alison: The handwriting on that list, is it a font?
[1:18:23] Andrew: It's very consistent.
[1:18:24] Alison: It's gotta be consistent.
[1:18:26] Andrew: Everybody go look at the list once it's been posted. The list is up, so go take a look. Uh, it's so consistent. It's gotta be a font. The A in Lindsay is the same as the A in Hannah.
[1:18:37] Alison: No.
[1:18:38] Andrew: Yeah, yeah. Uh-huh.
[1:18:39] Alison: I didn't under I think I felt like the gold stars were just like redundant at that point.
[1:18:45] Andrew: Yeah, I almost wish like the winner of that week's project got the star.
[1:18:50] Alison: Totally.
[1:18:50] Andrew: And they got immunity or something.
[1:18:52] Alison: Um, right.
[1:18:53] Andrew: That would have been fun. But the fact that they all got gold stars, I don't know.
[1:18:56] Alison: That almost sounds i don's that that's Gen Z for you.
[1:18:59] Andrew: They gotta have the gold.
[1:19:00] Alison: That's Gen.
[1:19:00] Andrew: I know. It's really I didn't I don't actually want to go down that. Gold star for you.
[1:19:05] Alison: Gold star.
[1:19:06] Andrew: Everybody gets a gold star, I guess. Uh except for Bryce.
[1:19:11] Alison: He's gone.
[1:19:11] Andrew: It's keep holding on, and he sings it and he looks like he's about to kill somebody in the end.
[1:19:17] Alison: Well, because he's the first one.
[1:19:19] Andrew: He's like, he looks frigging mad.
[1:19:21] Alison: And it's like it's like almost you expect that, like in the here's what's uh coming up on Glee Project.
[1:19:28] Andrew: Bryce comes back and he's like, I'm angry. I'm here to take my revenge on you, Ryan Murphy.
[1:19:36] Alison: Uh-huh.
[1:19:37] Andrew: Could you imagine that if that if it took that kind of route?
[1:19:40] Alison: I would love to do that.
[1:19:41] Andrew: I would love Murder Mystery Glee Project.
[1:19:43] Alison: Um we want to do our our wheel of fortune.
[1:19:49] Andrew: Yeah, let's do our our the the first uh Glacket project. So the minute you walked in the joint.
[1:19:57] Alison: Okay.
[1:19:59] Andrew: Oh.
[1:19:59] Alison: So audio medium, we're looking at a wheel and with all of the songs.
[1:20:03] Andrew: Uh-huh.
[1:20:03] Alison: And so this will be the first song in this first competition.
[1:20:06] Andrew: Big spender.
[1:20:07] Alison: Okay, big spender.
[1:20:09] Andrew: Versus big spender versus keep holding on.
[1:20:13] Alison: Yes.
[1:20:14] Andrew: Okay, so I think that we both agree.
[1:20:16] Alison: Big spender.
[1:20:17] Andrew: Yes. Absolutely.
[1:20:18] Alison: Going through.
[1:20:19] Andrew: Absolutely. Sorry, keep holding on Bryce version.
[1:20:22] Alison: Yeah, done.
[1:20:23] Andrew: Okay. Okay, so we've got Big Spender.
[1:20:24] Andrew: Let's do Competition number two.
[1:20:28] Alison: Jesse's girl.
[1:20:30] Andrew: Jesse's girl. Well, should we be doing like Big Spender versus Jesse's girl? Otherwise, we're gonna have three at the end, and then we have to decide which one's the better of the three. Is that fair to Big Spender? What do you think?
[1:20:41] Alison: Yes. That's fine.
[1:20:42] Andrew: Okay, so it's Big Spender versus Jesse's girl now. I'm also saying Big Spender.
[1:20:48] Alison: Yeah, okay.
[1:20:49] Andrew: Okay, I really did not think it would go this way. Uh, Big Spender versus Sign Seal Delivered.
[1:20:58] Alison: I'm gonna go Big Spender.
[1:21:00] Andrew: I'm going Sign Seal Delivered. Okay, so that means we need the Gleeks. We need the Gleeks that are currently here to weigh in. Will it be Sign Seal Delivered or Big Spender for you? Where's the people are in the chat?
[1:21:13] Alison: Everybody's saying Big Spender.
[1:21:17] Andrew: Oh wait, two percent to the lizard.
[1:21:20] Alison: Delizard.
[1:21:20] Andrew: The lizard. So I think that that's, I think Big Spender's is big spending.
[1:21:28] Alison: It's Big Spender, Big Spending.
[1:21:30] Andrew: Okay. Okay. Okay. Big Spender. Big Spender versus...
[1:21:35] Alison: That's like not a word in my head. I've said it so many times. Versus Firework.
[1:21:39] Andrew: I'm literally, I'm so kid. Big Spender is my number one of this episode.
[1:21:44] Alison: Okay.
[1:21:44] Andrew: I'm saying Firework.
[1:21:46] Alison: You're saying Firework. Okay, then let's have another. Big Spender or Firework.
[1:21:53] Andrew: Oh my god. Oh.
[1:21:55] Alison: Okay, two Fireworks, three Big Spenders. Is anybody, we're giving you another minute to get your votes in? Minute, 30 seconds. Anyone else? Anyone else wanna fight? Going once.
[1:22:07] Andrew: It's looking like it's Big Spender.
[1:22:12] Alison: I think.
[1:22:13] Andrew: Yeah. It's Big Spender. Wow, because then it's Big Spender versus Just the Way You Are.
[1:22:15] Alison: Just the Way You Are.
[1:22:19] Andrew: Which is gonna, it's Big Spender. And what if I shift it at this point? Stop. Um, wow, I really did not expect that. That's crazy.
[1:22:27] Alison: Okay, so the one for this episode, I'm gonna write it down. Big Spender.
[1:22:36] Andrew: The minute you walked in the joint.
[1:22:40] Alison: I could tell you were a man of distinction.
[1:22:44] Andrew: Oh, real Big Spender, good looking.
[1:22:50] Alison: So refined. Wouldn't you like to know?
[1:22:54] Andrew: What if I, I'm just gonna keep on singing.
[1:22:55] Alison: Okay.
[1:22:56] Andrew: Wouldn't you like to know what's going on in my mind? I think that we should end the episode with you give me a character. This is a game that I've told you that me and Amanda play. And because we'll watch episodes of Glee Project like while pregaming. And like as we're like on transit after watching Glee Project, as we're on transit going to the function, we'll give each other characters that would be on Glee Project. So it's like a Screamo person that has been eliminated, and there it's their turn to sing Keep Holding On. So give me a character and I'm gonna sing Keep Holding On.
[1:23:30] Alison: Okay, a mime.
[1:23:32] Andrew: No, that doesn't lend itself.
[1:23:37] Alison: Oh, he's singing it right now.
[1:23:39] Andrew: Uh, no.
[1:23:41] Alison: Give me a character. Give me a character. I'm being so serious. I'm not fucking around.
[1:23:45] Andrew: Um, wait, can I do my bits for you? Um, that I never, I never did my bits for you. Um, Thomas is saying a TED Talk.
[1:23:54] Alison: Oh, okay. TED Talk.
[1:23:56] Andrew: Or you be cursive singing and I'll be a TED Talk.
[1:23:59] Alison: Do I go first?
[1:24:00] Andrew: Yeah, you go.
[1:24:01] Alison: So I'm TED Talk.
[1:24:02] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:24:02] Alison: No, you're cursive singing.
[1:24:04] Andrew: I'm cursive singing. There's nothing you say. Nothing you could do.
[1:24:09] Alison: There's no one. Why you get thou to the truth.
[1:24:17] Andrew: But you know I'll make it though.
[1:24:19] Alison: Make it, wow.
[1:24:22] Andrew: That's simple. I didn't think it would be that good.
[1:24:26] Alison: Um, I had to look up lyrics because I'm gonna do, I'm gonna make this into like a mega bit.
[1:24:31] Andrew: A mega bit. Mega bit incoming.
[1:24:33] Alison: Okay. Okay, audio medium. I'm doing the TED Talks, I'm touching my hands together.
[1:24:38] Andrew: The fingers are, yes.
[1:24:40] Alison: Keep holding on. Cause you know we'll make it through. You know we'll make it through. And when you look at this chart behind me, just stay strong. Cause you know I'm here for you. I'm here for you. There's nothing, nothing you could say. Nothing you could say. Nothing you could do. Nothing you could do. That would make, wait.
[1:25:08] Andrew: Fuck.
[1:25:09] Alison: You got, no, that was great. I love that.
[1:25:11] Andrew: Thank you. Um, my newest bit is somebody who is trying to do a speech in front of people, but they've watched too many TED Talks, so it's very much like it's like one step away from the 700 Club, but it's not necessarily there yet.
[1:25:27] Alison: Yeah.
[1:25:28] Andrew: But it's very much like there's nothing you could say. I really like nothing you could do. When it comes. When it to the truth. When it comes to the truth. There's nothing.
[1:25:44] Alison: Oh my god, I heard so much of that last week. I wanted to fucking scream.
[1:25:48] Andrew: It's so good. I love it. I love this bit. Do you like this bit?
[1:25:49] Alison: I think it's fun.
[1:25:51] Andrew: I think it's fun, but I do love my newest bit, my other newest bit is um somebody who's really excited. Like a, like a 20-something youth group leader. And it's very close to TED Talk, but it's more like there's nothing you could do. There's nothing that you could say.
[1:26:14] Alison: Oh, oh my God.
[1:26:15] Andrew: It's very important. That audio medium, everybody knows both hands are like on the clock.
[1:26:24] Alison: Yeah.
[1:26:27] Andrew: It's so sincere. Like just like overly excited, but then like gets really quiet.
[1:26:32] Alison: Yeah.
[1:26:33] Andrew: Yeah. I'll be here for you. Ladies and gentlemen, I want you to hear. I want you to hear what I have to say. Keep on. Because Avril Lavigne, she's here with me. If you like this bit, um, keep on coming back. Paired with some, uh, some characters, some contestants. Please. I think, I think, I think we got a good bit on our hands.
[1:26:56] Alison: Yes, this will be fun. I like it.
[1:26:57] Andrew: Alrighty. Well, thank you so much for attending um this TED Talk. Um, we will be doing another one. You know the dates. They're all posted on the Patreon. But thank you so much for um just also, I forgot to say this at the beginning of the episode. Thank you for being so understanding. I don't know why I even thought for a second that you would not be understanding of us taking a little shifty shift. They're the best from regular Glackett, but like, oh my friggin' god. All but one of you were nice. One of you sent a really nasty message.
[1:27:29] Alison: Not here in the chat.
[1:27:29] Andrew: No. But there was someone that was in the DM request that made a burner account.
[1:27:33] Alison: No, no, absolutely not.
[1:27:34] Andrew: It was like a DM request. So, like it was someone that follows us, but didn't want to like publicly do it from their own profile. So they have another Instagram account where they sent nasty, nasty things. It's like, oh.
[1:27:45] Alison: Okay.
[1:27:47] Andrew: They literally said I don't want to focus too much on this video. We love the Glee Project. And we are very excited to continue to talk about it with all of you.
[1:27:55] Alison: Yes.
[1:27:56] Andrew: Yes. Uh, Becca, all of the episodes of the Glee Project are, if you want to go forward in time, because did you post on the Patreon?
[1:28:04] Alison: I posted the high definition episodes on Patreon once we know the dates for those. But if you want to watch ahead, it's just a little bit lower quality. That's in our beacons.
[1:28:16] Andrew: Yes, our link in our bio on our Instagram. Go there. I will post the more high def episodes once we know when we are going to be talking about those episodes.
[1:28:25] Alison: Yeah, so you can see Cameron Mitchell's crisp, crisp skin.
[1:28:28] Andrew: Oh my Glee. I really did not expect. Um, wait, am I recording?
[1:28:35] Alison: Yeah, I am.
[1:28:36] Andrew: Um, I really did not expect Big Spender. I am really gagged.
[1:28:41] Alison: Me neither. That is shocking to me. I didn't know the Gleeks were gonna show up for that. But I loved the liveness of it.
[1:28:48] Andrew: Well, I was surprised more so than anything that you showed up because like I was watching the episode, I'm like, oh, Alison is gonna hate Alice. Do you, what is your honest opinion on Alice?
[1:28:59] Alison: Um, I don't think based on the editing of the TV show, I don't think the edited version of her and I would be friends. But I see her, her pros and cons. I mean, she is girl boss, girl sleigh, um, gate Slay?
[1:29:18] Andrew: Yeah, in the best way possible.
[1:29:20] Alison: In the best sleigh possible. Um, I'm excited to get to next episode.
[1:29:24] Andrew: Oh, it's, that's a fun Alice episode. Big Alice episode.
[1:29:28] Alison: Um, but yeah, I had a good time. I feel like we might need to structure these a little bit.
[1:29:35] Andrew: I know we were kind of all over the place. It was kind of stream of consciousness.
[1:29:40] Alison: But I think that's how we, but I think that what if we were maybe we can have these in private conversations. But um, but like what if we were just like, hey, the big, the big three uh plots this episode and we just go through them, right?
[1:29:56] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:29:57] Alison: I think that that might be more conducive. I like not reading from a script, but yeah, I do agree that like maybe you and I could work from a living document.
[1:30:07] Andrew: Right. Whereas like because I had my plot and you had your plot, and they we might not have gotten all the time.
[1:30:12] Alison: Yeah, I didn't get to all my, what did I miss here? Hmm.
[1:30:15] Andrew: Oh, when Darren walks into the room, Hannah looks scared. Go rewatch the episode. Hannah's terrified to see Dark Cross. Um, anyway.
[1:30:27] Alison: Oh my god. Well, thank you, Gleeks, for listening to this episode of Gleek of the Week. Thank you so much for standing by us um in this weird time while we uh do something a little bit different um and support our friends and um try something new. [1:30:52] Andrew: And I have one right here, right in front of me.
[1:30:54] Alison: You're kidding me.
[1:30:55] Andrew: Yeah, it's, it's from uh Jesse St. James Owns My Ass.
[1:30:59] Alison: And I have a feeling I might have listened, read this on the podcast like a year ago before.
[1:31:04] Andrew: Jesse St. James owns my ass.
[1:31:07] Alison: It does sound very familiar.
[1:31:09] Andrew: I know, but it is five stars. Glamising, glabulous, and glutiful. This podcast has improved my quality of life so immensely, I cannot stop listening to it. Andrew and Alison are hilarious, and everyone should listen to this right now.
[1:31:22] Alison: Wow.
[1:31:22] Andrew: Thank you so much, Jesse St. James Owns My Ass.
[1:31:22] Alison: Jesse St. James Owns My Ass.
[1:31:27] Andrew: Yeah.
[1:31:32] Alison: I think you've literally said that before.
[1:31:34] Andrew: Oh god. Really? Wait, can I read? Can I read a review that was left this past Saturday from Zeke Mitchell?
[1:31:43] Alison: Yes, I read that one too. I love it.
[1:31:44] Andrew: I'm reading this for the first time, so I'm very excited. Iconicism at its finest. Is that a word?
[1:31:51] Alison: Yes.
[1:31:51] Andrew: Um, Alison and Andrew genuinely are the two funniest people on planet earth, and they have made me refine my absolute love-hatred for this hit fuck show redacted because of the way they are so committed to it and the goofy goober characters. Although Ryder and Unique is not a served ship, Alison. Sorry. Uh, they bring me joy and make me look forward to every new episode just to hear their goofiness and gooberness. Anyway, this podcast is iconic and landslide over somewhere we go sometimes for years.
[1:32:19] Alison: Yeah.
[1:32:20] Andrew: Wow.
[1:32:21] Alison: Wow.
[1:32:21] Andrew: Zeke Mitchell, I love you.
[1:32:24] Alison: Cameron Mitchell's relative.
[1:32:31] Andrew: This is my father, Zeke.
[1:32:32] Alison: Oh my gosh. What's another way you could support the podcast, Andrew?
[1:32:36] Andrew: Another way to support the podcast, of course, is if you want to open your wallet and to attend um these live stream episodes and also get uh bonus episodes and uh early ad-free episodes. There's like salt in my eye or something.
[1:32:47] Alison: Salt.
[1:32:49] Andrew: How is that possible?
[1:32:50] Alison: Um, sweat.
[1:32:53] Andrew: What?
[1:32:53] Alison: Sweat.
[1:32:54] Andrew: Sweat. And oh my god, it's really getting in there. But you become a patron and um you support the podcast and I would love to shout out some new patrons that we've had since the last time we recorded even though my eye is killing me um that is Katie, Celeste, Hannah, Kenzie, Kayla, Eduardo, AJ, Nicole, Capri, Tyler, Marissa, Anika, and Luciana.
