[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.

[0:09] Allison: There's no reason to it, so don't get mad at me.

[0:17] Andrew: We got Andrew and Allison who won the show with the Gleek of the Week, who's the head on show.

[0:26] Allison: Glack it by Glackett, we'll rank everyone.

[0:31] Andrew: Closer to spot number one.

[0:35] Allison: Gleek of the Week.

[0:37] Andrew: Glick, click, click of the wing.

[0:41] Allison: It's Gleek, click of the week.

[0:44] Andrew: Okay, one more little scoop of popcorn ASMR.

[0:46] Allison: I'm eating.

[0:48] Andrew: Okay.

[0:50] Allison: I popped all this popcorn.

[0:52] Andrew: Boyfriend calls.

[0:54] Allison: I need a ride to the friend calls.

[0:58] Andrew: I'm like, okay.

[0:58] Allison: Boyfriend Girlfriend Mommy, I need a I need to go.

[1:02] Andrew: You guys are in a you got what's the um nanny 911?

[1:05] Allison: You guys are in an emergency.

[1:07] Andrew: I'm on my way.

[1:08] Allison: I'm on my way.

[1:10] Andrew: Um okay, wait.

[1:11] Allison: Let's let's do it.

[1:13] Andrew: Taylor Swift.

[1:14] Allison: Fearless.

[1:16] Andrew: Speaking now.

[1:19] Allison: Red 1989.

[1:22] Andrew: 1989.

[1:23] Allison: Reputation.

[1:25] Andrew: Love.

[1:27] Allison: Folklore.

[1:30] Andrew: Ever.

[1:32] Allison: Midnight.

[1:34] Andrew: Okay.

[1:35] Allison: And you might be like, why the heck are they saying all these words?

[1:39] Andrew: Well, those are all Taylor Swift albums.

[1:42] Allison: And um they sang their first Taylor Swift, I think first and only Taylor Swift song.

[1:48] Andrew: I'm gonna go out on the limb and say that.

[1:50] Allison: I think you can go out on that limb.

[1:52] Andrew: Go ahead.

[1:53] Allison: Uh uh.

[1:54] Andrew: Their only Taylor Swift song that they sang on the Glee Project, and that's the episode that's in the episode that we're recapping tonight.

[2:00] Allison: And so um I had the genius idea to assign Taylor Swift albums to Glee Project contestants.

[2:08] Andrew: So I gave you this fun little assignment. What did you think of the assignment?

[2:12] Allison: Um it was fun.

[2:14] Andrew: I when you texted me I hadn't watched the episode yet.

[2:18] Allison: So I was like, ooh, what Taylor Swift song.

[2:20] Andrew: Oh, you need to be singing.

[2:22] Allison: Okay, that's fun, fun, fun.

[2:24] Andrew: What did you think?

[2:25] Allison: I assumed it would be mean or mine.

[2:27] Andrew: Right, you would think so.

[2:29] Allison: You'd think it would be mean or mine.

[2:31] Andrew: But then they went for another Speak Now song, Back to December.

[2:37] Allison: Really crazy.

[2:39] Andrew: Ryan, Ian, Brent, Ryan, Ian, and Brad are Speak Now heads, if nothing else.

[2:47] Allison: No, they love it.

[2:47] Andrew: They're in their Speak Now era every single fucking day of their lives.

[2:52] Allison: Um, but yeah, I had some difficulty assigning some of these albums to specific contestants.

[3:01] Andrew: Um I don't know what you did, but I tried to assign at least every album once.

[3:10] Allison: And then there were like two that I needed okay, okay.

[3:13] Andrew: We did the same thing.

[3:14] Allison: I did two.

[3:15] Andrew: I tested myself a little bit.

[3:16] Allison: I just wrote down the cast members that I remembered.

[3:19] Andrew: Mm-hmm.

[3:20] Allison: And shockingly, I remembered every single one.

[3:23] Andrew: That's that's I was like, oh that's queen shit.

[3:26] Allison: Cute.

[3:27] Andrew: You can remember things that you just talked about for the past couple months?

[3:31] Allison: Nice.

[3:32] Andrew: You've been talking about every single week.

[3:34] Allison: Yeah.

[3:34] Andrew: So, how do you want to go through this?

[3:37] Allison: Do you want to go through person by person and tell what era you think these are?

[3:43] Andrew: I think that would probably make most sense, right?

[3:46] Allison: Okay.

[3:46] Andrew: So it's a good one. Who do you want to start with?

[3:48] Allison: I'm going in order of elimination.

[3:51] Andrew: Okay, okay, okay.

[3:52] Allison: So let's start with Bryce.

[3:55] Andrew: Okay.

[3:56] Allison: Um you want to go first?

[3:58] Andrew: I said Evermore.

[4:00] Allison: I said Folklore.

[4:02] Andrew: Okay, okay.

[4:04] Allison: I thought like I wanted to go with Reputation, but then I looked at Reputation.

[4:04] Andrew: I was like, I don't think this is right for Bryce.

[4:12] Allison: No, it's not right for Bryce.

[4:14] Andrew: Evermore, just Folklore and Evermore, sister albums, sister albums.

[4:18] Allison: So I think they make sense for Bryce simply because they're quiet.

[4:18] Andrew: They're quiet.

[4:23] Allison: Bryce in that range.

[4:25] Andrew: Bryce was quiet for 10 episodes of the Glee Project because he's not there.

[4:29] Allison: Well, I even think furthering that point that like when he would sing, When I See Your Face.

[4:37] Andrew: There's not a believer.

[4:40] Allison: What?

[4:41] Andrew: Wait, can you not hear it?

[4:43] Allison: I'm singing Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars.

[4:47] Andrew: Oh.

[4:51] Allison: It's like all very like flat.

[4:53] Andrew: I thought you were singing When I See Y'all's Face.

[4:57] Allison: Oh.

[4:57] Andrew: Now I'm a believer.

[5:00] Allison: With that race, dude.

[5:02] Andrew: Yeah.

[5:02] Allison: I would love to see the Bryce cover.

[5:04] Andrew: Bryce, I has uh we've already discussed it, has really excelled his range since that first episode.

[5:11] Allison: Um we need the Bryce Vine uh Taylor Swift collab.

[5:15] Andrew: Yeah, I think that like Folklore is very Folklore is my favorite Taylor Swift album.

[5:19] Allison: Too long don't read.

[5:20] Andrew: That makes sense.

[5:21] Allison: But um do you like Evermore?

[5:24] Andrew: I don't really think I think that I just have a sense memory of Folklore during the pandemic.

[5:29] Allison: Like in the heat of the pandemic.

[5:32] Andrew: Whereas like when Evermore came out, I was like, I already got my babies.

[5:34] Allison: I already got my babies over here.

[5:36] Andrew: I already got my babies.

[5:37] Allison: I don't need another one.

[5:38] Andrew: I don't know.

[5:38] Allison: Put her away.

[5:39] Andrew: Put her away.

[5:40] Allison: Save her for later.

[5:41] Andrew: Thank you.

[5:42] Allison: Right.

[5:42] Andrew: I can't truthfully, I don't think that I've actually listened to Evermore all the way through.

[5:46] Allison: Listening to it all the way through, I'm just like, oh damn.

[5:46] Andrew: Oh damn.

[5:50] Allison: Like there's so many songs that you don't realize are on that album.

[5:57] Andrew: And I I like a Tis the Damn Season.

[5:57] Allison: Tis the Damn Season, Willow.

[6:02] Andrew: Life was a willow NFL ride.

[6:04] Allison: To your wind.

[6:06] Andrew: Yeah.

[6:06] Allison: I like um there's a willow version that's like spooky witch version.

[6:11] Andrew: And I'm like, okay.

[6:13] Allison: Is that an official release?

[6:14] Andrew: Like the Taylor's version, spooky witch version.

[6:17] Allison: I don't think it's spooky witch, but it's something like witches dancing around a fire era.

[6:22] Andrew: Oh wow.

[6:24] Allison: Um dare I say Ellis?

[6:27] Andrew: Who is your album for Ellis?

[6:30] Allison: Debut.

[6:31] Andrew: Really?

[6:32] Allison: That I am on I am on the complete opposite end.

[6:35] Andrew: I'm saying Midnights.

[6:36] Allison: Wow.

[6:37] Andrew: You don't think she's giving young?

[6:40] Allison: Well, I think so.

[6:42] Andrew: In the first episode of Glee Project, she's giving young.

[6:45] Allison: Again.

[6:46] Andrew: A discussion that we've already had.

[6:48] Allison: The progression of that Ellis had in those two episodes that she was on was monumental.

[6:53] Andrew: Um but I I'm basing it off of like the just jazziness.

[6:58] Allison: I was like, what is the jazziest Taylor Swift album?

[7:00] Andrew: And I think it's Midnights.

[7:02] Allison: Okay.

[7:04] Andrew: I mean, it's not really I again also I don't know shit.

[7:08] Allison: You get like all of my things are not really the one the one jazzy song Taylor Swift has.

[7:16] Andrew: I think this is like a joke I saw on Twitter.

[7:19] Allison: Cats.

[7:20] Andrew: Um and it like starts off of Lover and it like starts with a saxophone.

[7:27] Allison: It's like but I see why you say Midnights, because I I can see I can see a Bejeweled, I can see a Karma.

[7:35] Andrew: Right.

[7:36] Allison: Ellis.

[7:36] Andrew: Yeah, yeah.

[7:37] Allison: Yeah.

[7:38] Andrew: I just had Ellis doing our song it'll slam a screen door, sweet alley, window, nab on the phone, and talk real slow.

[7:47] Andrew: I'm really proud of who I assigned debut to.

[7:50] Allison: Um you're gonna have to wait for it.

[7:52] Andrew: Moving on to Emily, who do you have?

[7:55] Allison: 1989, because she's got that resident sick thing that I like.

[7:59] Andrew: Exactly.

[8:00] Allison: She's she's a city girl.

[8:01] Andrew: She's city girl.

[8:03] Allison: That's like the it's that's the poppiest album, too, right?

[8:06] Andrew: Like Welcome to New York.

[8:08] Allison: It's been waiting for you.

[8:09] Andrew: She could really bust the move to this, and it I think she's in her bag when she's in 1989 land.

[8:14] Allison: Oh yeah.

[8:15] Andrew: Are we out of the woods yet?

[8:16] Allison: Are you out of the woods yet?

[8:17] Andrew: Are you out of the woods yet?

[8:20] Allison: It's it's it's also like a sassy album, a little bit.

[8:22] Andrew: It is I'm a pop girl, I'm a millennial cringe, and I don't care.

[8:22] Allison: I don't care.

[8:30] Andrew: Okay.

[8:31] Allison: Um buy my three my three musketeers.

[8:34] Andrew: Um a little bit of a tricky one.

[8:39] Allison: Okay.

[8:40] Andrew: What do you think?

[8:41] Allison: For the country girl.

[8:42] Andrew: For the country girl.

[8:44] Allison: I'm also saying Fearless.

[8:45] Andrew: Nice.

[8:46] Allison: Right.

[8:47] Andrew: I'm just like, that's like when she's but that's like really that's when she's really country it, like, hard.

[8:53] Allison: Yeah, in her country bag, I think.

[8:56] Andrew: Yeah.

[8:56] Allison: Yeah.

[8:57] Andrew: And it's like, and it hits.

[8:59] Allison: I mean, debut is a country album, and technically so is Speak Now, but um Fearless is like country of the country.

[9:07] Andrew: She had her hits.

[9:09] Allison: Um she had the dress.

[9:12] Andrew: She's like solid Fearless is like solidifying her place in music history.

[9:17] Allison: Yes.

[9:17] Andrew: Right.

[9:18] Allison: She's doing Love Story, baby just say yes.

[9:20] Andrew: Yeah.

[9:21] Allison: And I think it's a little bit more.

[9:22] Andrew: It's obviously like a more adult than debut.

[9:26] Allison: Yes.

[9:27] Andrew: And so I think that's McKinley's bag.

[9:29] Allison: She might have had a sip of alcohol by the time she wrote for the city.

[9:32] Andrew: Right.

[9:33] Allison: Absolutely.

[9:34] Andrew: And that's McKinley.

[9:35] Allison: She might have.

[9:36] Andrew: She might have had a sip of alcohol.

[9:38] Allison: Moving on to Mateus.

[9:40] Andrew: Okay, I said Mateus' Reputation.

[9:44] Allison: Really?

[9:45] Andrew: I said Mateus.

[9:46] Allison: I'm doubling up with 1989.

[9:48] Andrew: I think he's like really a pop boy.

[9:50] Allison: I doubled up with Reputation and 1989, but not with Mateus.

[9:54] Andrew: Mateus' Reputation to me, I think the body rolls.

[9:57] Allison: Reputation has some of the horniest songs on there.

[10:01] Andrew: Yeah.

[10:01] Allison: Um.

[10:03] Andrew: And uh that's what Mateus is.

[10:06] Allison: He's doing body rolls, he's horny.

[10:08] Andrew: And uh doing one of those.

[10:12] Allison: Oh, did you not hear it?

[10:13] Andrew: Oh, that like the high pitch.

[10:15] Allison: Yeah.

[10:15] Andrew: I'm I'm just like, he's he's pop boy.

[10:20] Allison: I'm like really basic.

[10:21] Andrew: This is unfair because I'm like basing it off of a bunch of the bottom three songs that they were given.

[10:26] Allison: And I'm like, I don't know if that's actually like a correct representation.

[10:29] Andrew: But that's all we have.

[10:31] Allison: It's true.

[10:32] Andrew: So I'm saying 1989.

[10:34] Allison: He would that's like it gives you hell to me.

[10:36] Andrew: Yeah.

[10:38] Allison: Bad blood gives you hell.

[10:39] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[10:40] Allison: Okay, King.

[10:42] Andrew: Yeah, okay, King.

[10:43] Allison: Um, moving on to Queen Marissa.

[10:47] Andrew: Marissa, you know, when I think of Marissa, I think of that fuck ass Bob.

[10:51] Allison: You think of the fuck ass Bob, of course.

[10:53] Andrew: I think of the fuck ass Bob that she was horribly given during her little guest spot.

[10:59] Allison: That she won.

[11:00] Andrew: Yeah.

[11:00] Allison: That she won.

[11:03] Andrew: Um, so she's wearing like a paper boy cap, which is the Red album.

[11:01] Andrew: Congratulations, here's the Bob.

[11:03] Allison: Yeah, congrats.

[11:11] Allison: Okay.

[11:11] Andrew: I mean, I had the same result, but my um the way I got there was a lot shorter than what you're saying.

[11:18] Allison: I'm saying it's simply because she has red hair.

[11:21] Andrew: She does have red hair.

[11:22] Allison: Nice.

[11:23] Andrew: But also, like, I could also see her being like, Hate on Me is kind of like a sister to like um I Knew You Were Trouble.

[11:31] Allison: You know?

[11:31] Andrew: Yeah.

[11:33] Allison: It's like kind of like angry, but also kind of fun.

[11:35] Andrew: Just like having fun with her girls, yeah.

[11:38] Allison: Yeah.

[11:38] Andrew: And so he calls me up and he's like, I still love you.

[11:41] Allison: And I'm like, we are never getting back together.

[11:44] Andrew: Like ever.

[11:46] Allison: Ever.

[11:46] Andrew: And she did date Jake Gyllenhaal.

[11:49] Allison: I hope you're listening.

[11:50] Andrew: Daily Mail.

[11:53] Allison: Marissa, also an ex of Jake.

[11:56] Andrew: Um what are you gonna say?

[11:59] Allison: I was gonna say new ex-boyfriend just dropped.

[12:03] Andrew: Jake Gyllenhaal.

[12:05] Allison: Um, how about Cami Boy?

[12:07] Andrew: Cami Boy is Folklore to me.

[12:09] Allison: Oh, okay.

[12:10] Andrew: So we just did a complete trade-off.

[12:12] Allison: I'm saying he's Evermore.

[12:13] Andrew: Yep.

[12:14] Allison: Sister albums, baby.

[12:16] Andrew: But I think I said that because I was like, honestly, I am just like I'm I'm a Cameron hater a little bit.

[12:22] Allison: And like I can't give him Folklore, my my fave, my favorite baby.

[12:27] Andrew: So you gave it to Bryce.

[12:30] Allison: I guess, yeah, when you apply that logic, doesn't really make much sense.

[12:34] Andrew: Yeah, wait.

[12:35] Allison: Wait a minute.

[12:36] Andrew: Huh.

[12:37] Allison: Uh I think I know, because I was like truly like Bryce was the last person I assigned, so it was like, well, you're gonna have to get Folklore.

[12:44] Andrew: You're gonna get it.

[12:45] Allison: It kind of made sense.

[12:46] Andrew: Um Cameron Evermore.

[12:48] Allison: Yeah, he's a woodsie boy.

[12:49] Andrew: He's an overall.

[12:49] Allison: He is a woodsie boy, he's wearing some flannel.

[12:52] Andrew: Um I just see him singing m like this is me trying Cameron's version would be really great.

[13:00] Allison: Peace, Cameron version.

[13:02] Andrew: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[13:04] Allison: Um but also Happiness, Cameron's version would be really good, and that's Evermore.

[13:09] Andrew: But now that I think about it, if Cameron were to go into the woods, I if he were to get bitten by a tick, I think he would die.

[13:21] Allison: Right?

[13:22] Andrew: Dude, there's a kind of tick I learned last week.

[13:25] Allison: There's a kind of tick that it when it bites you, you become allergic to red meat.

[13:29] Andrew: Jack has that.

[13:30] Allison: Jack has that exactly he got bit by a tick, and he can't eat red meat anymore.

[13:35] Andrew: Dude, if I couldn't eat steak, life isn't worth living to me.

[13:40] Allison: And yet, like every time that we go out to eat together, like I trauma block that information.

[13:45] Andrew: I'm like, oh, like this, like this chicken looks good.

[13:48] Allison: And he's like, I can't have that.

[13:49] Andrew: And I'm like, oh fuck.

[13:50] Allison: But chicken's not red meat.

[13:52] Andrew: Or like, I don't know.

[13:53] Allison: I'm saying chicken.

[13:54] Andrew: I don't like I don't know what we were talking about potentially happening.

[13:57] Allison: Not chicken.

[13:59] Andrew: Oh, you want the burger?

[14:00] Allison: You can't have it, bitch.

[14:01] Andrew: Oh, you can't have it, babe.

[14:02] Allison: I do that with your uh your tree nut allergy.

[14:05] Andrew: Yeah, it's bad.

[14:06] Allison: Every time I'm like, just get the almonds.

[14:08] Andrew: Just come on, grow up.

[14:10] Allison: Grow up and drink fucking almond milk, bitch.

[14:14] Andrew: I hear really good things.

[14:16] Allison: Anyway, okay. This is the lady of the hour, Hannah.

[14:20] Andrew: Hannah, I said she's a Speak Now.

[14:23] Allison: Really?

[14:24] Andrew: Because of Back to December.

[14:26] Allison: I can see her singing Me and Mine, all of the above.

[14:29] Andrew: I know. That makes sense. And you know you have more, I guess, um, information to, I guess, back all of this. So I'm taking your word more than my own. I'm saying Hannah is Lover because she is one.

[14:44] Allison: Oh.

[14:45] Andrew: Okay. I can see that.

[14:47] Allison: Yeah. She was just like a cute and like I really think she's singing.

[14:49] Andrew: You Need to Calm Down.

[14:51] Allison: Exactly. She's having fun.

[14:53] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Lover.

[14:55] Allison: Lover.

[14:56] Andrew: Yeah, I love that song.

[14:58] Allison: That's a good one.

[14:59] Andrew: That is a really good song. Moving on to how about Lindsay?

[15:04] Allison: Lindsay, I said was 1989. Because again, she's got that red lip classic thing that you like. But also like Poppy, also Welcome to New York. Also New Romantics.

[15:16] Andrew: I think she would slay.

[15:17] Allison: Well, she's a big belter.

[15:19] Andrew: What's a big belt on 1989?

[15:22] Allison: Um.

[15:24] Andrew: Are we yet at the woods yet?

[15:25] Allison: Are we yet at the woods yet? Are we yet at the end?

[15:28] Andrew: Well, I mean, like, isn't it in that same song? It's like, well, I remember.

[15:30] Allison: Yeah.

[15:33] Andrew: And I can see her doing that.

[15:36] Allison: I remember.

[15:37] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. She would love it. And just her hair.

[15:41] Allison: Her hair in the music video in today's episode gave 1989.

[15:46] Andrew: I think. The retro. Lindsay was sick this week.

[15:50] Allison: I think this was Lindsay's week to be sick.

[15:53] Andrew: To slay?

[15:54] Allison: Sick as in slay?

[15:56] Andrew: No, not sick as in slay. I think that she was not well. I think that every Glee Project contestant had their week to be sick, and I think this was Lindsay's.

[16:04] Allison: This is getting ahead of ourselves. We need to move on to Alex.

[16:07] Andrew: Okay. Alex is Midnights.

[16:09] Allison: Alex is Midnights for me.

[16:10] Andrew: Yeah, Bejeweled.

[16:12] Allison: Yeah.

[16:13] Andrew: Bejeweled.

[16:13] Allison: Bejeweled was like the solidifying factor for me. Bejeweled, but also like Bigger Than the Whole Sky. Also, The Great War. Would've, could've, should've. Like, I see that for Alex. But also Karma, also Anti-Hero. Also Lavender Haze.

[16:29] Andrew: I think that's interesting that we're both agreeing that Alex is Midnights. When I think that when we assigned the characters on the redacted show eras, I believe that we both agreed that Unique was Speak Now.

[16:33] Allison: Speak Now.

[16:47] Andrew: Why do you think that is?

[16:48] Allison: There's a little bit softer side of Unique. Like I think Unique at the end of the day is a hopeless romantic and just wants to be loved.

[16:57] Andrew: Alex, I feel like there's a little bit more of an edge to them.

[17:00] Allison: I agree. And uh they stay slaying. Like Unique slays, but like in a more innocent, pure way.

[17:10] Andrew: There's like a duality to it.

[17:12] Allison: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[17:13] Andrew: Like, I think Alex in the context of the Glee Project, like, I think Alex could hurt me.

[17:25] Allison: And Midnights could hurt me.

[17:27] Andrew: Midnights like is nice and great, and like you want Midnights in your corner. But at the end of the day, Midnights could step on your neck.

[17:34] Allison: I was about to tell you that I think that that was the most um like truthful, honest, pure conversation that we've ever had recorded, talking about the difference between Alex and Unique. And then before I could even share that information, you were like, Midnights could hurt me.

[17:55] Andrew: Like Midnights knows when to slap someone.

[17:59] Allison: Like there's a good time to slap somebody.

[18:01] Andrew: Like slap a bitch.

[18:02] Allison: And I think Alex knows.

[18:04] Andrew: I don't think Unique knows.

[18:05] Allison: Unique doesn't know.

[18:06] Andrew: Unique would be like, oh hell no. Let me go birth a baby in the Christmas episode.

[18:13] Allison: Previously unaired episodes.

[18:15] Andrew: Yeah. Um whereas Alex Newell knows when to do the good slap.

[18:21] Allison: Yeah.

[18:22] Andrew: Knows the thing. That's a valuable tool.

[18:25] Allison: Great tool.

[18:26] Andrew: Yeah, I don't I don't have that tool.

[18:27] Allison: Do you?

[18:28] Andrew: I'd be slapping too much, to be honest with you.

[18:31] Allison: Wait, really? In the club?

[18:32] Andrew: I just hands.

[18:34] Allison: Oh, well, I mean, this is a good conversation. What album are you?

[18:39] Andrew: Right now.

[18:40] Allison: Yeah.

[18:43] Andrew: Midnights in the streets, Lover in the sheets.

[18:47] Allison: Oh.

[18:49] Andrew: Midnights because you're hurting people?

[18:52] Allison: Midnights because I'm trying to be a bad bitch, but like behind closed doors, I'm like, love it.

[18:58] Andrew: Okay. But who which which side? If you had to choose one, which side is more powerful?

[19:04] Allison: Lover, for sure. I'm definitely in my Lover era right now.

[19:07] Andrew: You're oh well, that makes sense.

[19:09] Allison: Okay. We saw the hard launch.

[19:12] Andrew: We saw the hard launch.

[19:14] Allison: Um what you've I like Folklore. I don't think that's me. I think that you've told me that I am 1989.

[19:24] Andrew: Mm-hmm.

[19:25] Allison: Why?

[19:26] Andrew: I just think you're effervescent like that.

[19:29] Allison: What a exactly.

[19:30] Andrew: Like I think you're a go get 'em ambitious person.

[19:33] Allison: Go get 'em. Effervescent is like outgoing, bright, but like also at the same time has drive and ambition.

[19:43] Andrew: Oh.

[19:44] Allison: Like I think 1989 has some ambition to it. And like willing to knead like fucking feet to the street.

[19:53] Andrew: Right.

[19:54] Allison: I don't know what I'm trying to say. But not willing to hurt somebody to achieve.

[19:55] Andrew: Not willing to hurt somebody, but you know what? You uh you've got a chip on your shoulder.

[20:02] Allison: Exactly.

[20:03] Andrew: And so does 1989. So moving on to the Steelers version released October 27th.

[20:08] Allison: Okay.

[20:09] Andrew: She needs that promo.

[20:10] Allison: Bad.

[20:11] Andrew: She needs it from the Gleeks.

[20:15] Allison: Um moving on to Damien.

[20:20] Andrew: Lover.

[20:21] Allison: I said Lover.

[20:22] Andrew: He's my debut.

[20:24] Allison: Oh, that's really good, actually.

[20:27] Andrew: I think that he doesn't know what he's doing yet.

[20:29] Allison: He I'm just again basing this off of Glee Project season one.

[20:33] Andrew: Sure, she's just simply he is he is new to this. He's just figuring out his sound, and you can't really hate him for it.

[20:43] Allison: And I don't think there's and when you if you were to do a Glee Project Eras tour, I don't think that you would see a lot of Damien songs in the set list, is what I'm what I'm kind of getting at.

[20:57] Andrew: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. He'd be a bonus, he'd be the one of the bonus songs.

[21:01] Allison: One of the bonus songs. It's like, oh my god, a Damien track?

[21:04] Andrew: Exactly.

[21:05] Allison: Lindsay, Lindsay would be on stage, and Lindsay would be like scrum on her guitar and being like, guys, I have a special guest here.

[21:11] Andrew: It's it's Debut.

[21:13] Allison: It's Damien McGuinty.

[21:14] Andrew: It's the fucking winner of this entire competition series. God surprise.

[21:19] Allison: Surprise.

[21:21] Andrew: Um, who do wait, who did it? Samuel is left?

[21:25] Allison: Wait, I'm blanket. Damien's Lover.

[21:28] Andrew: Damien's Lover.

[21:29] Allison: Why?

[21:30] Andrew: Um, I can see him singing The Archer.

[21:33] Allison: Okay, I don't know that.

[21:38] Andrew: I'm in the right.

[21:40] Allison: That sounds like a Damien impression.

[21:42] Andrew: I know. It was. Spring.

[21:44] Allison: Um then Sammy, Sammy Boy.

[21:47] Andrew: Sammy Boy Reputation.

[21:48] Allison: He absolutely is.

[21:50] Andrew: He's the first one I was like, yep, well, I know that much.

[21:53] Allison: Yeah.

[21:54] Andrew: I know that's right. I know that Samuel's in his Reputation era.

[21:58] Allison: He's got tattoos.

[21:59] Andrew: Come on.

[22:00] Allison: Come on now. Hello. No other Taylor Swift album has tattoos other than Reputation, baby.

[22:04] Andrew: They get it, they get it removed.

[22:06] Allison: They go to get that Jesus Christ tattoo on their neck.

[22:09] Andrew: Yeah. You want me to look? You want me to show it to you?

[22:12] Allison: Um, okay, so are we ready to um discuss this this week's episode?

[22:18] Andrew: Yeah.

[22:19] Allison: Glee!

[22:20] Andrew: Glee, Glee, Glee.

[22:24] Allison: Believability.

[22:26] Andrew: Oh leave ability.

[22:30] Allison: Believe, believability.

[22:34] Andrew: Alright.

[22:36] Allison: Okay. Thanks so much, Samuel Larson, for coming over to my apartment and doing that for us.

[22:43] Andrew: That was Samuel. It's so good to see you again. How are you doing?

[22:46] Samuel Larson: I'm doing alright.

[22:52] Andrew: Why is that such a good impression?

[22:54] Samuel Larson: Um I've no idea.

[23:01] Andrew: Alright. Episode eight, season one, Believability. What the fuck does believability mean to you?

[23:08] Samuel Larson: Believability again. What does that mean?

[23:11] Andrew: I don't know. What does that mean?

[23:12] Samuel Larson: Believability? Okay, I know I do have an answer for this. Believability is um it's almost like faking it till you make it a little bit. Where it's like, okay, like, yeah, maybe this is not something like you've been assigned to do something, and it's not like a natural sort of uh place for you to go. But just faking it until you make it. And um, you know, and some people do make it this week and some people don't.

[23:41] Andrew: Yeah. What does believability mean to you?

[23:44] Samuel Larson: Believability to me is just like actability.

[23:48] Andrew: Right.

[23:49] Samuel Larson: Like, can you can you do the part? But I think they're like they're emphasized. I think written on the board is be real.

[23:58] Andrew: It's time to be real.

[23:59] Samuel Larson: It's time to be real. You're s your fucking notifications going off. But to me, be real means being genuine, and believability implies that there's some lying involved. That you're not being true to yourself, but you're making it believable enough to other people.

[24:17] Andrew: That's true. Because it's not believable, like it's not like finding the truth within a true colors. It's just making it be genuinity.

[24:26] Samuel Larson: It'd be genuine.

[24:28] Andrew: Yeah. They do have an they call I I I think that this episode would be comparable with the second season's actability, which they but for whatever reason they don't call it actability.

[24:40] Samuel Larson: No, and I don't get it.

[24:42] Andrew: Um The song is True Colors. And Samuel says, almost word for word, am I trying to make them believe what they want me? Am I trying to make them believe what they want me to make them believe? Which implies that even the contestants don't fucking get this assignment.

[25:04] Samuel Larson: No, it's like I don't think it's that age old question that we're talking about is do they want them to be themselves or do they want them to be this part? And if they want them to be this part, what part are they supposed to be?

[25:14] Andrew: I think well, I think I figured it out. I don't think that there is a correct answer for that. If you think that you figured it out and you're like, oh, here's a here's a galaxy brain, let me not be myself. That's how you fail. Because then it's like a fucking Lindsay later in this episode where they're like, I don't know who this is. But then when you are yourself, it's like, no, no, no, you're gonna get reprimanded. This is a no-winning situation.

[25:37] Samuel Larson: So you nobody can win believability week.

[25:41] Andrew: I I think it makes sense with Jenna as the guest judge.

[25:47] Samuel Larson: Uh-huh. Because I'm not sure.

[25:48] Andrew: Which I think I think this was a Darren Criss situation where it was like, I think that like this is.

[25:54] Samuel Larson: She rolled offset.

[25:55] Andrew: She rolled. Like she did not know where she was, it seemed. She was still wearing the glove.

[25:59] Samuel Larson: She was like.

[26:03] Andrew: Like Jenna was like, oh my god, I'm gonna take off these gloves. And Robert was like, no, they're perfect. We just made up the assignment ten minutes ago. It's believability. Here's how we spin it so that your glove makes sense. Here's your direction. Those gloves represent Tina.

[26:17] Samuel Larson: Yeah.

[26:21] Andrew: All of that is Tina. Shed Tina off of yourself in front of the entire all the contestants to really drive it home what this week's theme is.

[26:33] Samuel Larson: Right.

[26:34] Andrew: Like Jenna is literally showing how different she is from her character. But because she can act, it's believable that she is that character. But then these kids get reprimanded for not being genuine and not being themselves.

[26:53] Samuel Larson: I literally don't know how many times I need to tell you. There's no answer to it.

[26:57] Andrew: There's no winning this.

[27:01] Samuel Larson: It's like I'm fight- I'm having a fight with myself.

[27:04] Andrew: Jenna comes in and she's like, oh, it's like you can have a separation between yourself and the person that you would be portraying. But then like later on in the episode, it's like, no no no no no, you need to be yourself. And it's like, fuck. I can't win.

[27:20] Samuel Larson: I can't win. This is rigged.

[27:22] Andrew: Um editing in this homework assignment. Can we talk about that?

[27:26] Samuel Larson: Okay, what do you think?

[27:29] Andrew: Because I desperately I never want to be there for the homework assignments, but this was the one week that I wanted to be there just to see how they did it.

[27:36] Samuel Larson: You know?

[27:37] Andrew: I know. Did everybody sing? Because Robert says, Lindsay, you're up first.

[27:44] Samuel Larson: Right.

[27:44] Andrew: Which makes me kind of think there's not a lot of people in this competition anymore. Makes me kind of think that they were all singing the same stuff.

[27:54] Samuel Larson: Yeah.

[27:55] Andrew: And they just edited it together so that it was like Defying Gravity season one.

[28:02] Samuel Larson: Well, yeah, they edited it together. They definitely edited it, but I don't know. I'm just like, I guess they all they all got up, sang, everybody clapped, and then the next person got up.

[28:20] Andrew: Which is some, like now that I think about it, that's kind of like doing the glackets some weeks. Sometimes with like it some weeks were fucking hard doing the glacket with like certain guests, or it's like, oof, I really hate to show you this, but I'm gonna have to show you this performance. Here's uh fucking anything by Vocal Adrenaline season five. Oh, season six. Here's a WemA duet. Um it's been so long since we've glacketed that I don't even know my own name. Um can I just say Cameron would have ate this?

[29:02] Allison: No.

[29:02] Andrew: Just like I think we can can we just stop the Cameron discourse. I think it's fine. He's done. Okay. You know who else would have done great on this performance? McKinley. You know who else would have done great on this performance? Emily. Why? Why why can't I also say it? What does that mean? Camera just left, and it's true that Camro Cameron would have ate this.

[29:25] Allison: I don't think it's true.

[29:34] Andrew: You don't think that anybody else? You think that they made the correct choice in sending everybody else home in preparation for "True Colors"?

[29:42] Allison: Yeah, they waited. They were ready. They were like, Cameron's gonna rock this, and then Cameron fucking quits. There were like finally a correct roster for this Cindy Lauper historical song. Um yeah, I thought that Samuel was doing a little bit too much though.

[29:59] Andrew: Samuel.

[30:00] Allison: Oh, yeah. He was doing the whole too much the whole episode, I think.

[30:06] Andrew: I think so. I think that you know, this was Lindsay's sick week. I think that this was the complete opposite for Samuel. I think that Samuel was kind of like on a little vocal adrenaline, you know?

[30:17] Allison: Yeah, it's like when you get your period and like two weeks after your period, you're like the hottest and the most energetic you'll ever be. What's that phase called, fellow uterus heavers?

[30:27] Andrew: The luteal phase.

[30:29] Allison: That's what Samuel was in. By that logic, Samuel had his period the week that Marissa was eliminated.

[30:41] Andrew: Yeah.

[30:41] Allison: Okay.

[30:42] Andrew: Okay, Allison Ruiger is saying luteal phase.

[30:46] Allison: Ludial.

[30:46] Andrew: Okay, thank you. Yeah. You're like the hottest you've ever been because your body's like, it's time to make a baby. So we're gonna make you sexy sexy. So Samuel was looking to procreate this week.

[30:59] Allison: Samuel was ready to make a baby.

[31:02] Andrew: Was ready to get pregnant.

[31:04] Allison: Was ready to get pregnant. Well, with the Glee Project's baby. Only if I were only there. Um anyway. Uh I will say that Lindsay is continuing this bit. She really wants to get this bit to land, this joke about Samuel's smise, that she's like, Samuel has this thing where he just like looks really intently and like he does this weird stare. And I'm like, we literally saw you do this joke last week, Lindsay. Like it was funny then. It's over. It's over, Lindsay. Boo, hiss, come up with new content.

[31:42] Andrew: Exactly. Try the fuck harder. Show tune, show tune. Tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes.

[31:50] Allison: But I think that Hannah, she did win, and she should, she honestly should have won.

[31:57] Andrew: Yeah.

[31:57] Allison: She was the winner here.

[31:58] Andrew: She was the winner here, and uh it makes me sad that she left. But we'll get to that. Uh we go from the homework assignment into like a group huddle where we're at the cuddle puddle couch. And um, Alex asks a version of like the most toxic question you could ask at a party. Like, imagine you're at a party sitting in a circle, and you're like, and Alex was like, Andrew, truth or dare? And you're like, truth. And Andrew's, or Alex is like, Andrew, who's the hottest person at this party?

[32:36] Allison: Didn't Cameron do that episode one of this season where he was like, Okay, yeah. But like it's different now because they know each other.

[32:41] Andrew: They know each other, and there's only five people left. I think I'm gonna apply some other logic and say, okay, yeah, I think it's because it's Cammy that did it. Cammy did the same exact thing, and that's okay. But the second that Alex does the same shit. Alex was like, okay, so we have to pretend to be in love. Who could you most easily be in love with? Or like if you had to have a crush on. Who's your crush? Who are we crushing on?

[33:14] Allison: Um, oh, and this is the I sent you a TikTok earlier. This is the moment that the TikTok comes into play. So Hannah and Lindsay are talking about like, oh, for the music video this week, which is "The Only Exception". Um, Hannah is like, oh my god, I kind of want to be like um crushing on you, Lindsay. Like, I'm the shy girl, and you're you're the you're like the more popular girl. And like I have nothing wrong with with like kissing girls. And then Samuel in the back's like, I have no problem kissing girls either, for the record.

[33:47] Andrew: And the TikTok that I sent you is like these three people have seen this TikTok. You have not seen this TikTok. I have not seen this TikTok, but people have. So it's three people explaining a TikTok is really the one of the worst things that my brain can do. Um, so it's three people at a pool. You only see two at the beginning. It's POV, the foot with a person holding the camera, their foot is on another person's um lap. And uh she says to the foot person, I don't want to give you a foot rub, and then pan over to some the third person, and the third.

[34:26] Allison: No, not even pan over yet. In the background, the third person's like, I'll give you a foot massage.

[34:34] Andrew: It's like they pan over to them and they're just like, who said though? Oh, okay, nobody asked you. I'll kiss girls. I'll kiss girls. Okay. If we're talking about kissing girls, like I'll do two. I'll kiss girls. Samuel, there's two girls left. Which one do you want to kiss? Do you want to kiss Hannah? Do you want to kiss Lindsay? You want to kiss both? There's so many conversations about actresses in this in this week's episode where like they're like, oh, Lindsay's clearly the best actress here. And it's like, yeah, there's only two to choose from. Like, just say that she's a better actress than Hannah. Like, I don't understand what y'all are saying.

[35:13] Allison: Yeah. I I think, did they mean as a whole group? I don't like actresses as gender neutral. Doors. Actors. I don't know. I my headcanon that I want to kind of play by is that there's a hidden third girl that we just are not seeing yet that is in the competition. Marissa never left. She's hiding in the walls. But she's not as she's not as good of an actress as Lindsay. How about?

[35:41] Andrew: Um but okay, and so we go to we go to the studio with Queen Nikki Dominant. What do we think? And Alex drops a bomb that Alex is thinking about their dad passing away. And it's a very emotional moment. And Nikki, I think, literally goes into the studio and gives Alex a hug. It's very sweet.

[36:08] Allison: I do like it, yeah. Um I'm like wondering why that's the point they reached on this song.

[36:18] Andrew: That's what I was wondering too. I just feel like it was like almost like a cut for time sort of thing. Where it was like Yeah, it was like, how did we get here? How did we get to how do we get to like deceased parent from "Only Exception"? Like it just felt like I'm sure there is there that train did make sense when it happened. But the way we saw it did not make sense.

[36:39] Allison: This entire in the studio with Nikki is I wanna see the time stamps on the producer's clock and in In and Out because they spent time editing this shit.

[36:53] Andrew: Oh, yes. Yeah. Because to have it make sense. Seemingly, seemingly Alex goes in and out of the studio, has a very emotional reaction with Nikki. Mm-hmm. Then Lindsay goes into the studio, sings her bit, and is also crying by the end.

[37:11] Allison: Right. And wait, did you Lindsay shared with all the other contestants? Or Alex shared with everybody before Lindsay went into the studio. Hey, I just had a really emotional thing. Nikki was great. She really she knew the exact same thing. And Alex is like, I was crying, I was shaking, and then Lindsay was like literally had her notepad out like crying, shaking.

[37:33] Andrew: Shaking. God, it got it, got it, got it. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, uh huh. So Lindsay goes into the studio and also starts crying. And Nikki's like, whoa, what's going on? Even Nikki's henchman. Nikki's henchman has a line, but it's not even like a good first line. So Lindsay says, like, after this this crying thing, which I want to talk more at length about because I don't actually feel like as funny, good time about it as I am saying right now. But um, so Lindsay like cries and then leaves and is like, you're awesome. And then the the Nikki's coworker, her mute coworker, suddenly is on mute and um says, I don't think that was for me.

[38:22] Allison: And Nikki was like, Yeah, I know it wasn't for you.

[38:26] Andrew: My question is. Like, why did she say that? That felt weird. Nikki's like, she's forcing emotion. Yeah. And I really think that that reaction completely invalidates any genuine emotions that Lindsay could have felt. Like, I think it is fucking hard to be there for that long. They've been here for what, eight weeks now? Away from their family. I mean, even like boiling it down beyond that. I just think that like Lindsay observed from Alex, like, oh, Nikki is a good person to like feel better when you're sad with.

[39:13] Allison: Right.

[39:13] Andrew: I'm also feeling sad. I'm feeling sad. I want to be heard. Let me go in there, cry, get this out of my system, and then I'll feel better, which is what happened. And she was vilified for it. And yeah, it's like probably not the best. I think that the villain edit is villain editing. You know, but I don't know. I yeah, I did not appreciate that production from that. I think it just villainized genuine emotion that um Lindsay was having, and that was dumb.

[39:47] Allison: And I know. And I just like don't like it was like so predictable. Like as I was watching the episode, I was like, oh, okay, so Lindsay's gonna come out, share that she cried in there, then it's going to cut to Alex, giving a like a like a huh look. And I'm like, okay, we could have done this on iMovie ourselves. Hello.

[40:07] Andrew: Literally. It's written in the fucking stars. It's written in the Bible. I think I've seen this film before and I did not like the ending.

[40:15] Allison: Exactly. Exactly.

[40:16] Andrew: So, okay. Then we're on the we're on the music video shoot. I feel like we're really blasting through this. Um, thank you for explaining this because the villain edit worked on me. I hated Lindsay for a second.

[40:28] Allison: Eduardo, I want nothing more than to um defuse any villain edit. Show me a villain edit of any villain. I I I want to be the person to be like, no no no. Let's actually reconsider this. This is crazy. Don't do that. Don't do that. Ooh, if you like villain edits, you should watch Bachelor in Paradise with me this season.

[40:51] Andrew: I'm watching Golden Bachelor.

[40:53] Allison: Did you watch the first episode?

[40:55] Andrew: I watched the first episode.

[40:56] Allison: It's kinda good.

[40:57] Andrew: I am I'm waiting for Joe to watch it, but I watched the first episode of Bachelor in Paradise.

[41:02] Allison: If you watched, did you watch any of the recent Bachelor Bachelorette seasons like Cherry?

[41:07] Andrew: I we were in conversation, I think it was like 2021. I feel like when we started potting, it was Matt James's season. And that was the only season I saw in full. I don't even think I attempted to watch anything else.

[41:20] Allison: Bachelor in Paradise is so good. But I'll save it for my bachelor podcast.

[41:26] Andrew: I don't know. Okay.

[41:28] Allison: Okay. Spin off.

[41:29] Andrew: Um it's not struck work, so I could talk about it all I want. Um We're on the video shoot. And Hannah is supposed is like, I'm supposed to be in love with Alex, but I don't want to focus on that. I want to focus on the competition.

[41:45] Allison: Mm-hmm. And I'm like, babe, that is the competition. It's acting. You gotta act like you're in love with Alex. They gave you an assignment, they're finally giving you a crumb of a character to be.

[42:00] Andrew: Right. I mean, I'm confused by this because Hannah was like, Oh, I'm in love with Damien, but I'm looking at Alex, and I'm supposed to be believable uh believably in love with Alex.

[42:14] Allison: Right. And I'm like, okay, they're sitting next to each other. Just think about the other one. Like the camera doesn't really know if there's a fucking close-up of your face, the camera won't know if you're looking at one person or the other.

[42:28] Andrew: If they're sitting right fucking next to each other. I'm confused here. I don't know. They're sitting next to each other, Hannah. Try harder. Just think about Damien. I don't know. Act. You don't even need to act here. You're in your lover era with Damien. You're in your lover era. Snap out of it. Seriously. Stop it. Stop it. Stop. Damien says, I hope my eyebrows don't start dancing, which I'm so glad I don't have that problem. I don't think I do. I hope I don't. Now I'm like, eyebrow dancing. Like, what do you think he meant by that?

[43:11] Allison: I think it's like almost like a nervous tick where it's like, oh, like when you're nervous, I get red. I when I'm nervous, we'll get red. If I'm wearing glasses, my this is like it's cartoonish. My glasses will fog up, and I'm like, what the fuck does that mean? You're emanating heat because your fight or flight, your sympathetic nervous system is boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop.

[43:36] Andrew: Thank you, Doctor. Something that my high school theater teacher would bring up is acting STEM queen again.

[43:52] Allison: Thank you, Alison. Yes, I am STEM queen, bitch. People listening don't know that you're not just talking to yourself.

[44:00] Andrew: I am talking to myself. I called myself STEM Queen, and I agree with myself. Thank you, everybody. Something that my high school drama teacher drilled into the people that acted. I did not act, I was just simply there because I was in tech crew. The difference between acting for theater and acting for a camera. Like a camera is gonna zoom up very close and is gonna get the little nuances, the eyebrow dances, the little subtleties of if you're looking at Alex instead of Damien. Yeah, they're gonna it's gonna well maybe not that, but it's gonna catch little nuances, whereas on stage, you have you're working for the back of the house. Like they're not gonna be able to see your facial expressions. If you're excited, you have to be big and excited and be expressive with your whole body.

[44:51] Allison: Yeah.

[44:53] Andrew: However, you'd think that if a camera came out, all of them would be acting for the camera and doing these little nuances. Not a single one of them is acting well. I am so sorry. All of them are losers to me in my book. I don't know. I felt a little something when Lindsay and Samuel looked at each other. No?

[45:15] Allison: No. Samuel is doing the stop. Audio medium, I'm squinting, doing like the fuck boy, like bite my lip. The Lindsay bit has really done a number on you.

[45:30] Andrew: I don't know. Wait, I have a list of everybody's facial expressions. So Samuel's doing the squint.

[45:36] Allison: Squint.

[45:37] Andrew: Uh-huh. Fuck boy squint. Lindsay's just like loud, big eyes. I don't know if you noticed this, but like she was belting in the studio, and when she was singing two track on the music video set, it like her mouth was not nearly wide enough to make it make sense. I was like, girl, I don't know. Stop. Open up that mouth. Open up your fucking mouth.

[46:05] Allison: Hannah would just like blink and smile, which was cute. But there's no emotion there. Alex is just frowning.

[46:18] Andrew: Stop. No, there was that one part. You know that like um Leonardo DiCaprio meme from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood where he's like pointing at the camera, like, oh my god, that there's a thing. You know that? You know that meme? When um Robert and Nikki were watching the monitor and they saw Alex receive the note, and they're like, There's a thing. Sorry, I just need to say things that I know will be in the carousel so I can like have it make sense within the carousel.

[46:46] Allison: Continue.

[46:47] Andrew: And then Damien's just like puppy dog. They all have one face that they do throughout the entire music video, and I'm like, this isn't acting. Wait, this is modeling.

[47:01] Allison: I think that you're kind of falling victim to what the Glee Project is teaching you, where it's like, oh, you wanted them to be themselves. No, this in this music video, they're given a part. Before, be in love with somebody. I don't believe that for a second from fucking any of them.

[47:18] Andrew: Fine. Okay. I was just playing devil's advocate for a second. I don't even believe that. Um so I don't know. It did piss me off that like Samuel has a talking head during the music video where he's like, I've never, like, oh my god, I guess we're gonna be acting today. I've never really considered myself an actor. And I'm like, what the fuck?

[47:42] Allison: The way you just said that was the cutest.

[47:46] Andrew: I'm not cute. I'm not cute. My parents think I'm cute. I've never considered myself an actor. Thanks. So thanks, I guess. I'm like, seriously, what the fuck are you here for?

[48:03] Allison: I sound like such a fucking broken record. I am so sorry. But I'm like, seriously, what are you what were you made for, Billie Eilish?

[48:12] Andrew: Exactly. Exactly. Not fucking this.

[48:15] Allison: King. Only exception, King. What did you think of this rendition?

[48:22] Andrew: Oh, so glad you asked. I was like very excited because I feel like this entire episode was really packaged for me. They were like, finally, like, it's time that we really give something to Andrew McGuire. How old would I be in 2011? That would be 16. 16-year-old Andrew McGuire. He's 16. 16, 16 minutes left, 16 years old, and he's got a good lead project episode. Um and they were like, We really gotta we gotta give him a good package. And I'd not like that.

[48:52] Allison: Um they were like, okay, so we're gonna sing, we're gonna sing true colors. He really likes that song. Jenna Uschwitz is gonna show up. Jenna Eschquitz is gonna have a one-on-one with Hannah, who's gonna be the winner, and also the music video. Why not? Um, I don't know, the only exception. One of the best songs of the love songs of all time. Only exception. I'll say one of the best songs of all time, only exception.

[49:05] Andrew: Um I don't know. I still I liked it. I thought it was cute. I think it's one of my favorite music videos. Um, the redacted version of this song still does a lot more for me.

[49:29] Allison: Yes.

[49:29] Andrew: Um but yeah, I still liked it. Okay. I don't know. There were like, there were so many like times within this music video, the set design where it was like Lindsay was in the romance section of the library. And then when they do like the when they actually show the music video, it starts with someone walking by with a love for dummies book. What are you doing? You're standing up?

[49:54] Allison: Um so I don't know. I still like I it's one of my favorite music videos. I love the song from the Glee Project. Hannah, Hannah Slade, the moment between Lindsay and Samuel. Uh can't help but Stan. Um Alex took the note well. Damien, I literally don't know why you're here still. I'm so thoroughly confused.

[50:22] Allison: Uh, you said a lot more positive things than I ever could.

[50:25] Andrew: Oh, what are you gonna say?

[50:27] Allison: I didn't like this music video. I thought they weren't acting, they weren't good.

[50:32] Andrew: Ooh, his tomatoes, tomatoes, really?

[50:33] Allison: Why?

[50:34] Andrew: I've seen better. It was Cameron Mitchell, and he's gone. So, like, who do I give a fuck? Do I give a fuck? No.

[50:40] Allison: I think I'll say, I'll regrettably say that Cameron would have done well in this music video. I think that he would have done that. He would have done better than most people that were here.

[50:52] Andrew: Thank you for saying that.

[50:53] Allison: Not really actually saying too much.

[50:57] Andrew: Oh my god. So we go to the bottom three.

[51:01] Allison: And Lindsay, Lindsay Doobie saying, no, that's not what I meant. I'm sorry, but that's not what I meant. That's not what I meant.

[51:08] Andrew: Oh my god. That wasn't supposed to come across that way. Baby girl, you've said that seven you've said that once an episode. Take a shot every time Lindsay says that in the Glee Project.

[51:17] Allison: I mean drunk. She's trying to get these bits going.

[51:18] Andrew: I know. She's trying to get a catchphrase.

[51:23] Allison: I know.

[51:24] Andrew: That's not what I meant is her catchphrase.

[51:29] Allison: Which actually, like, that's actually a pretty good catch. I kind of want to like try that.

[51:33] Andrew: That's not what I meant, guys.

[51:35] Allison: Not what I meant. Seriously. That's not what I meant. Sorry if it came across that way, but that's not what I meant. Like after saying something that was so negatively received by everybody that I'm like, that's not what I meant.

[51:47] Andrew: Just like gaslighting the other people.

[51:50] Allison: That's not what I meant.

[51:51] Andrew: What are we talking about?

[51:53] Allison: It's like I hate people that read books.

[51:56] Andrew: Lindsay, you hate people that read books?

[51:59] Allison: That's not what I meant.

[52:00] Andrew: That's not what I meant.

[52:01] Allison: That's not what I meant.

[52:03] Andrew: Well, then what did you mean?

[52:05] Allison: No, I'm sorry that it came out that way, but that's not what I meant.

[52:10] Andrew: Edward says not relevant, but Alice in this angle is everything. I'm so intimidated.

[52:14] Allison: Yeah, I'm gonna fight you. I'm midnights right now. Um yeah, for everybody just listening, it really is uh speaking to what you were talking about earlier, where it's like, okay, film angle 101, where it's like, okay, if you if you want to show that a character is more dominant, um, Alison's angle right now from her webcam is um pinking up. So she's um clearly my double chin, you can see it all, baby.

[52:39] Andrew: Wow. Hold her back.

[52:41] Allison: Um the bottom three is Samuel, Lindsay, and Hannah.

[52:46] Andrew: Who would have been I have so much to say about this section. But first, Damien.

[52:53] Allison: Lindsay.

[52:56] Andrew: Samuel.

[52:57] Allison: I have the same thing. Why the fuck was Hannah here?

[53:00] Andrew: Why the fuck is Hannah there? It makes me sick because have none of these kids have seen Ryan at this point, right?

[53:09] Allison: Yeah.

[53:11] Andrew: Wait, what did you say? Did you ever think that you could if you would, if you if you could use so much so you could you could do anything.

[53:28] Allison: Um Lindsay and Hannah, none of them have seen Ryan yet, correct?

[53:35] Andrew: No. Only only Samuel is the only person that hasn't. Hannah did Valerie with Alex.

[53:43] Allison: And Lindsay did um something with Cammy.

[53:50] Andrew: Oh, Lindsay did River Deep Mountain High with Cami.

[53:54] Allison: Yep.

[53:55] Andrew: Okay. Okay, I really. Why do I think that she also did, did she also do is this her first like solo?

[54:02] Allison: All their first solo, and I think because they weren't at the tip of Ryan's mind for elimination this whole time. I think they're all at a loss because they haven't seen Ryan yet. Ryan doesn't care about them. Ryan has Ryan can't see their growth.

[54:20] Andrew: Right.

[54:21] Allison: So he doesn't care. Um I will say that, like Nikki, so they have Nikki comes out because there was obviously no Choreo this week. And so they were like, Sequidly, get out. Get out. We don't need you here. Get out.

[54:37] Andrew: And so Nick. Leave.

[54:40] Allison: And so um, Nikki comes out, and I I think that Robert could have done this by himself. Robert could have done this by himself, but I think that Nikki was like, I want to be the one to send I want to be the one to send Lindsay to the bottom three.

[54:46] Andrew: Nikki was like, I already have the outfit planned.

[54:55] Allison: I already have the out the the outfit that I wear when I destroy this bitch's career. I want to look Lindsay in the eyes and tell her that she's fighting for her fucking life. You're gonna be performing for one of the most powerful men in Hollywood. I don't know how to tell you.

[55:18] Andrew: Okay, which I'm glad that you brought up because I remember before we did our Lindsay interview, we were talking about things that we want to ask her, and I remember being like, I remember asking you, I was like, hey, I'm watching the Glee Project episodes back, and I just watched this episode where Lindsay said that she didn't know maybe this time. And I was like, I kind of want to ask about that. And you were like, don't ask that, which I think was a good I mean, like what would have been the answer to that?

[55:45] Allison: How did you not know maybe this time?

[55:48] Andrew: Bitch. Welcome to our podcast. Why the fuck didn't you know that song?

[55:54] Allison: First question.

[55:56] Andrew: First question. Why the fuck don't you know maybe this time? Are you a theater kid at all?

[56:00] Allison: Well, like, I don't, it doesn't make any sense. Because it's like, I feel like throughout the season, she's been like, she's been the most gleek. She's been the biggest gleek.

[56:13] Andrew: Yeah.

[56:13] Allison: Well, and theater kid. She's got a Broadway voice. But I'm just saying that she's been the one that like she has the talking heads where she's like, Jenna Uschkowitz is one of the original members of the Glee Club. Where I'm like, okay, okay, so she she's ready to be like the the um oh my god, the token the token gleek, yeah, the token historian historian clique of every friend group.

[56:40] Andrew: And it's like, and the faces on Robert and Nikki when she was like, I don't know this song. They were both like, what the fuck? What the fuck, bitch. Who are you? And Robert says, like, no, you're gonna listen to it. I know you better than this. You're better than this girl. You've heard it, you're gonna be like, you've heard this song. Come on. Come on now. You're just sick this week. You're just like you're just sick in the head.

[57:14] Andrew: Um, I'm sorry, you want to go more into the last chance performances, but I want to talk about Robert telling Hannah why she is in the bottom three and that she was distracted because she couldn't disassociate Alex and Damien. Um, but I thought it was very sweet, and I continue to like stan. I'm a Stanna. Um, I stan Hannah. Um because she just approaches everything with fucking positivity, and it makes me sick with love for her. And I'm just like, she was just like, yeah, I guess I was just distracted. I don't know. And I'm like, I wish that I could respond to criticism that way, you know. You know?

[57:56] Allison: I know.

[57:56] Andrew: She takes it, she takes notes really, really well. And I that's a quality I wish I had as a person.

[58:02] Allison: Yep.

[58:03] Andrew: But I don't. But she does sing "Back to December," yeah.

[58:04] Allison: She does.

[58:08] Andrew: Um, how do we feel about that? Uh, she is inherently, I think she's the most Swifty coded of the entire contestants this season.

[58:19] Allison: I would say so.

[58:20] Andrew: Uh, we're going and you're sitting back down.

[58:24] Allison: Yeah, okay.

[58:25] Andrew: Audio medium. She's sitting back down to talk about "Back to December." I need to be sat for "Back to December."

[58:33] Allison: Um, what? Uh, do I want to be the first one to say something bad about "Back to December"? It's not good. It's not good because she's singing it in too high of a register, I think.

[58:50] Allison: We don't know anything about singing. And just to put that disclaimer.

[58:59] Andrew: Hi, love, "Back to December" all the time. She's in her head when she should be, I go back to December all the time. In her chest, singing from her chest. And she should have gone lower register and she doesn't. Um, Eduardo in the comments is saying that she was set up, and I can't help but agree. I think that she was set up. Even though she was like, you know, this was a song that she was very excited to sing. Um, you know, I get excited to sing "Maybe This Time." And I'm like, is it gonna be good? No. No. Maybe. I'm not singing it for Ryan Murphy. I'll be lucky. Maybe this time he'll stray.

[59:43] Andrew: But I just need to say that she's the cutest person alive, and I really, really would die for her. So I would kill for her.

[59:49] Allison: I would slap a bitch in the club.

[59:54] Andrew: Okay, you're saying two different things. You're saying that you would kill somebody and also slap a bitch in the club.

[1:00:04] Allison: I'd do whatever she wanted, whatever she needed in the moment.

[1:00:07] Andrew: Wow.

[1:00:09] Allison: Huh.

[1:00:09] Andrew: Okay.

[1:00:10] Allison: I don't know if I would go that far. I think I would just be like, you know, if it was, I don't know what scenario it is where it's like Hannah or me, and I'm like, I think I'm gonna go. I think I'm gonna piece out now. I think my I've breathed my final breath. It's like the Avengers. It's like you're Scarlett Johansson, and she is the guy that got hit by a snowblower.

[1:00:36] Andrew: What's his name?

[1:00:38] Allison: Don't ask me.

[1:00:39] Andrew: Hawkeye.

[1:00:40] Allison: Hawkeye. He did not get hit by a snowblower.

[1:00:43] Andrew: Uh, Jeremy Renner.

[1:00:44] Allison: Yeah.

[1:00:45] Andrew: Oh god. That was so sad. God, but I think he's doing okay. So I think we're able to—she's Jeremy Renner, you're Scarlett Johansson in the Avengers.

[1:00:56] Allison: Spoiler alert.

[1:00:58] Andrew: Spoiler alert redacted. I want to ask more questions, but it's a redacted conversation. Um, Ryan's talk with Hannah after the performance, where I just like really loved it, where it was like, um, he was just like, you're everything that the show is. Like, this is the show. You're the show. And I'm like, yes, she is. Give her the goddamn role.

[1:01:24] Allison: Mm-hmm.

[1:01:25] Andrew: Cause then he goes on to tell Lindsay and Samuel, are you the show?

[1:01:29] Allison: Exactly.

[1:01:30] Andrew: Exactly. Um, okay. Yeah. Can we talk about—let's talk about "Maybe This Time" now.

[1:01:38] Allison: I uh, lyrics queen, lyrics slay, slay slash slay. Getting those lyrics so brutally wrong, just repeating lines over and over again. She really, she's committing to the bit she did not know this song. She didn't give a fuck. She was like, I'm gonna sing this. And it is a really good song for her, good song for her voice.

[1:01:58] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:01:59] Allison: Um, I don't know whether the next Lea Michele is necessarily a compliment, but in this setting, it is a compliment. Um, but what I will say is a note that I have received in my professional life, and a note that I don't—I think is the fucking least helpful bullshit you could ever say to anybody, and is something that Ryan Murphy says to Lindsay is, I don't even—I don't know why. I don't even know how to help you. I don't know why I don't want to root for you. I don't know. I'm just like, oh, how unhelpful.

[1:02:38] Andrew: That waited—that was my main note about this, where I was like, okay, say there is no benefit to be sharing this information with her besides the fact that this is a reality show. Right. Like, there's no benefit. She's not gaining anything from hearing this information, this critique about her. So why are you telling her? Like, this sh—this conversation should have been behind closed doors. I mean, it could have been, it's still a reality show. It could have been when they're fucking like looking at the folders after like everybody performs, and they're like, I don't think about this one. Uh, maybe that's like—that could have—that would have been a great opportunity to have that conversation. Not to the fucking person. God, what are you supposed to do with I don't know why? Like, okay? Well, I don't know why either. Like, she's trying her fucking best out here.

[1:03:31] Allison: Yeah.

[1:03:32] Andrew: I literally, Ryan Murphy. God damn it. I feel so conflicted about you, Ryan Murphy, so I'm not gonna sign off on that opinion. Um, but I mean—and she drops a bomb. Right, that she's adopted.

[1:03:47] Allison: She's adopted.

[1:03:48] Andrew: Mm-hmm. And so that makes like all of her, oh, I have to be perfect, I have to be a people pleaser, I have to deserve to have, like, I have to work hard to deserve what I get. I have to work hard to deserve my family's love. Like, that has gotta be fucked up. And it makes complete sense why she's been acting this such a way on this show. But I do wish that she'd been more vulnerable and had shared that earlier, but at the same time, if she had shared that earlier, would they have just been villainized?

[1:04:21] Allison: Yeah.

[1:04:22] Andrew: Literally everything you say will be held against you.

[1:04:26] Allison: Yeah.

[1:04:26] Andrew: In the glory.

[1:04:29] Allison: Exactly.

[1:04:30] Andrew: Um, and it kind of occurred to me while watching that I was like, oh, the character, I'm gonna have a reductive conversation with my friend for a second, if that's okay. The character that she's given, which is a character that was already written before she won. Right. Right. She—uh, Lindsay Pierce steps into the role of Harmony. Uh, a character that they could have easily just naturally auditioned for. Yep. Um, she got this two-episode deal, and it really made sense the conversation that Ryan and Lindsay had that was like, oh, you're just perfect. Like, there's like, there's nothing, like, I don't really understand why to root for you. Like, because you have everything goes your way. And I'm like, oh, I know a girl like that.

And her name is Harmony, no last name. And like she literally is just like a go-getter, and she doesn't like have a chip on her shoulder like Lea Michele's character. Where it's just like, oh, like I'm—well, because we don't even get to know her beyond these two performances that she does. She's just like, oh my god, next year's gonna be a bloodbath. Um, I'm so perfect, of course I'm gonna go to Niata. I'm a sophomore, like I'm so perfect, no nothing can touch me. There's no nuance to my character. Please don't ask me anything about myself. I'm a character that's literally—the bit is that I am Rachel Berry.

[1:06:02] Allison: Boo.

[1:06:03] Allison: Right.

[1:06:03] Andrew: Give Harmony the spinoff.

[1:06:04] Andrew: And there's—there's beyond that, there's nothing behind the curtain.

[1:06:05] Allison: Give Harmony the spin-off.

[1:06:06] Andrew: I'm ready for it, actually. Uh, so let's see, going into anything else about "Maybe This Time." I was ex—I was half expecting, and this is how the redacted show kind of trained my mind, that I was half expecting um like a Kristen Chenoweth myth at the end, where it's like, dun dun, you know, I'm like, oh, I miss that. I still really loved it, and I can't say it enough, like how much I fucking love this performance. I think it's just like, it's so like stupidly good that I'm like, oh god, she even if she like messed up any of the lyrics, which I didn't even catch. Did she really mess up a lot of the lyrics?

[1:06:08] Allison: Yeah.

[1:06:09] Andrew: Boo his boo.

[1:06:48] Allison: She repeated a, I was so blinded by the glitz and glam of her performance that I was like, oh no, this is actually perfect.

[1:06:56] Andrew: And I'm, I wouldn't die for you, but I really really loved it.

[1:07:00] Allison: Anyway, I would die for this performance.

[1:07:02] Andrew: I really liked it.

[1:07:02] Andrew: Samuel singing "Animal." They're talking about Samuel before he comes out here, and they're like, he's kind of aggressive.

[1:07:13] Allison: Yeah.

[1:07:14] Andrew: And then I'm like, so you gave him an aggressive song to sing? Whoa.

[1:07:19] Allison: How unsalo.

[1:07:22] Andrew: I hope this makes sense, but I wrote down that in every universe, Samuel Larson is intrinsically linked with this song. In every universe, he sings this song. I was like, when they were like, Samuel, you'll be singing "Animal" by Neon Trees. And I was like, oh, well, duh. Of course. That makes sense. It's written in the stars.

[1:07:43] Allison: It's written in the stars.

[1:07:44] Andrew: I can't wait until our next life when I see Samuel Larson sing it again. That, I don't know, on a subway platform. I'm ready for it.

[1:07:53] Allison: Right.

[1:07:53] Andrew: Or sing it as part of Neon Trees' lead singer. There's a universe where that's true. It's just like, this makes sense for him. It makes it painful that this song exists in every single universe. If anything exists in every universe, I think it's "Animal" by Neon Trees.

[1:08:18] Allison: Oh my god.

[1:08:21] Andrew: I don't know. Samuel can't meet Ryan's expectations that he doesn't even know about. And I'm like, come on. Again and again and again. These kids can't do anything right. He performed well. But then this is what really fucking pisses me off is that Ryan even brings up Cameron in his review of Samuel.

[1:08:51] Allison: Whoa, that made me—I was like, whiplash. Like, oh my god, you're bringing up a dead character now?

[1:08:57] Andrew: Yeah, you're bringing up Cameron, and then he literally says, where is that guy? I'm like, Cameron quit! Cameron quit on your watch. Yeah. Like, what the fuck, Ryan?

[1:09:14] Allison: It's just leads to Samuel being like, oh yeah, I love God too. I love Jesus. I wear Jesus rocks around my fucking neck every single day. We said it, we said it last week that Cameron is passing the baton on the Christian baton off to Samuel in this week's episode, Samuel's sprinting with it.

[1:09:31] Andrew: Yep.

[1:09:31] Allison: I have reason to believe that Samuel didn't get—he alludes to having a Jesus Christ tattoo on the back of his neck in this episode. I have reason to believe he did not get that tattoo until the second that Cameron's keep holding. He was like, okay, I have shoes to fill here. I'm ready, I'm ready for the tattoo. And he was like, who do you think? Who do you think applied the tattoo of the other contestants there?

[1:09:58] Andrew: Um, Lindsay.

[1:10:00] Allison: I think Lindsay. She wants to touch him, I think.

[1:10:03] Andrew: Wait, but I think that again, this is something that didn't happen. I don't know if you understand that we're joking, Hong Kong. Um, but I don't think that Lindsay would do it because that would mean that like Samuel has a leg up of like being a Christian character.

[1:10:21] Allison: Character already written.

[1:10:23] Andrew: Yeah. I don't think that like Hannah doesn't care. She's like, oh, you want a Jesus Christ tattoo? That's pretty cute. Oh. I'm not gonna ask any questions. Sure. I've never done this before. Um, but I like coloring with Cameron. I'll tattoo with Samuel.

[1:10:44] Andrew: Um, okay.

[1:10:46] Allison: Yeah.

[1:10:47] Andrew: It again, like this whiplash of like Samuel, like he is he really is on some sort of like adrenaline this week. Like he does, he does "Animal" by Neon Trees as he does in every single universe. And at the end of it, he is like so like hyped up on energy, and then Ryan just brings him back to Earth.

[1:11:10] Allison: Oh my god. And then it cuts back to again, this is edited condensed for time, but it cuts to like a close-up of Samuel and he's crying, and I'm like, literally, I have footage of you ten seconds ago in the episode where you were like bouncing off the walls. Like that's where did that guy go?

[1:11:27] Andrew: He got slapped in the face by Midnight's Ryan. Who do you think Ryan is? Which Taylor Swift album?

[1:11:33] Allison: Ryan, oh he's fearless in like an annoying way.

[1:11:41] Andrew: Hmm.

[1:11:42] Allison: Oh, well, I guess they're all technically Speak Now because they—

[1:11:42] Andrew: Yeah, that's true. Um, he's better than Revenge, not Taylor's version.

[1:11:54] Allison: Okay, so where are we? Are we done talking about Samuel?

[1:11:57] Andrew: Yeah, I think we're ready to talk about the fucking elimination.

[1:12:01] Allison: The assassination, the assassination of Hannah Versace.

[1:12:07] Andrew: Hannah Versace. Um, yeah, Hannah, Hannah goes home.

[1:12:16] Allison: Too long, don't read. You already know what it is. Everyone's crying in the streets. Hannah's going home.

[1:12:22] Andrew: And can I just be the first to say that the purge of redheads on this show is officially over.

[1:12:30] Allison: Fuck. They were like, we gotta get these people with red hair. We gotta get them out.

[1:12:34] Andrew: Like we gotta get rid of the gingers. What was that about? Why three weeks in a row?

[1:12:41] Allison: I don't get it. They were just like dun dun dun dun.

[1:12:44] Andrew: I think. Is there anybody with red hair on the show Glee?

[1:12:50] Allison: I was thinking that, Emma.

[1:12:52] Andrew: It's just Emma.

[1:12:54] Allison: Oh.

[1:12:55] Andrew: They can only have one.

[1:12:57] Allison: Jamie Mayus was like, there can only be one.

[1:12:59] Andrew: Isn't that fucked up?

[1:13:01] Allison: Kind of fucked up. This is diversity?

[1:13:03] Andrew: Gross.

[1:13:04] Allison: Yeah. Um, wait, and then I have been sitting on a fan casting. Again, we're really like doing a cannonball into redacted conversation, but I have a fan casting for Hannah was the closest person to being having won the Glee Project without being on the redacted show.

[1:13:23] Andrew: Right. Um, and I have a character for her that I think would have been so much fun.

[1:13:28] Allison: Okay.

[1:13:29] Andrew: So this is after season two of Glee that um, Hannah's introduced at the beginning of season three, and she is a New Directions mega fan. She is completely meta, like she is like a kind of like a voice for the audience, and she's like, oh my god, y'all should have won nationals. That was kind of crazy that you didn't. Like, how dare they? And she's been like following the career trajectories of all of them for a really long time.

[1:13:55] Allison: And she doesn't think that she can sing, but she can. And then she does join the Glee Club, and um, and she just knows too much information about all of them. She's kind of like obviously, I'm thinking within the realms of like a Sugar, Rory, Samuel character, she's not obviously going to become like a main main character, but like her bit is that she just like knows everything, but also can carry a tune.

[1:14:18] Andrew: I like that.

[1:14:20] Allison: I like that.

[1:14:21] Andrew: Yeah.

[1:14:22] Allison: I think she could be like, could she ship somebody?

[1:14:25] Andrew: Could she ship Faberry?

[1:14:28] Allison: Oh, like yeah, she would. She would be the one to say that.

[1:14:30] Andrew: Yeah, she's like Faberry, and Rachel and Quinn would be like side eye.

[1:14:37] Allison: She literally transferred to William McKinley High School just to be able to be, like, she made her parents, she runs the show in her house.

[1:14:45] Andrew: Oh, yeah. She made her parents like move across the country.

[1:14:49] Allison: Yeah.

[1:14:49] Andrew: To be able to attend this public high school.

[1:14:52] Allison: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[1:14:53] Andrew: I love that.

[1:14:54] Allison: I love that head cannon.

[1:14:56] Andrew: Mm-hmm. That's good.

[1:14:58] Allison: Um, I have our spinning wheel of death.

[1:15:01] Andrew: I'm drunk in the back of the car, and I cry like a baby.

[1:15:05] Allison: Come on, hope I'm in the bar.

[1:15:06] Andrew: Okay.

[1:15:07] Allison: Oh.

[1:15:08] Andrew: Okay.

[1:15:09] Allison: Animal.

[1:15:11] Andrew: Oof.

[1:15:12] Allison: Versus "Back to December."

[1:15:15] Andrew: Oh my god. I think just because it's Queen Hannah and this is her kind of last hurrah, I'm gonna have to go "Back to December."

[1:15:24] Allison: I would say "Back to December" as well, because it's Taylor.

[1:15:28] Andrew: Okay.

[1:15:29] Allison: She did she did okay. It wasn't the best.

[1:15:30] Andrew: Yeah, she could have done better.

[1:15:32] Allison: She could have done better.

[1:15:34] Andrew: "Back to December" versus— What is that?

[1:15:36] Allison: Exceptionally exception.

[1:15:38] Andrew: Okay. So we gotta go only exception.

[1:15:40] Allison: Sorry, you gotta go "Back to December."

[1:15:42] Andrew: Yeah, go "Back to December," baby.

[1:15:44] Allison: Stay there.

[1:15:45] Andrew: Stay put.

[1:15:46] Allison: Stay stay there.

[1:15:47] Andrew: I'm coming for ya.

[1:15:49] Allison: I'm on my way.

[1:15:51] Andrew: Okay, only exception versus "True Colors."

[1:15:54] Allison: That's kind of a hard one.

[1:15:56] Andrew: Because I really I think I liked Hannah a lot in "True Colors."

[1:16:00] Allison: What are you saying?

[1:16:01] Andrew: I'm saying only exception.

[1:16:03] Allison: I yeah, I think I also gotta I gotta stay true to "Only Exception."

[1:16:07] Andrew: Okay.

[1:16:09] Allison: "Only Exception" versus "Keep Holding On," Hannah.

[1:16:13] Andrew: Uh yeah, it's gonna be "Only Exception."

[1:16:15] Allison: Which is I and I knew this would be the last competition.

[1:16:18] Andrew: "Only Exception" versus "Maybe This Time," and I'm still like not ready for it.

[1:16:23] Allison: I think I know what my choice is though.

[1:16:25] Andrew: I think I know what mine is too. Do you want to say it at the same time?

[1:16:29] Allison: Yeah.

[1:16:30] Andrew: Three, two, one.

[1:16:32] Both: "Maybe This Time."

[1:16:33] Andrew: Yep.

[1:16:34] Allison: It just it's so good.

[1:16:37] Andrew: It is so good.

[1:16:38] Allison: Okay, okay, okay.

[1:16:41] Andrew: Ugh.

[1:16:42] Allison: What do you want it? What do you want me to say?

[1:16:43] Andrew: Uh, what do you want me to say?

[1:16:45] Allison: What do you want me to say?

[1:16:45] Andrew: "Only Exception" where nobody shows any facial expression.

[1:16:50] Allison: Or "Maybe This Time" where she belts, baby.

[1:16:52] Andrew: I gotta type, I got a tight grip on reality, but I can't.

[1:16:57] Allison: Let go of what's in front of me here.

[1:16:59] Andrew: Exactly.

[1:17:01] Allison: Exactly.

[1:17:02] Andrew: Gosh.

[1:17:02] Allison: Exactly.

[1:17:03] Andrew: Um, so I think that not not only Hannah.

[1:17:09] Allison: I is this bit getting tired.

[1:17:11] Andrew: Not only Hannah has been eliminated this week from the couple of extras.

[1:17:16] Andrew: I hear you have something cooking.

[1:17:18] Allison: Let me pull up the lyrics.

[1:17:21] Andrew: Is that bit tired?

[1:17:24] Allison: Um, I don't understand how you're still looking up the lyrics, in all honesty.

[1:17:28] Andrew: My head empty. I can f—I have one thought at a time.

[1:17:32] Allison: You are literally like, gun to your head, you have to watch "Keep Holding On" at least once a week. Like that's like, how are you not learning the lyrics at this point?

[1:17:42] Andrew: Because I'm writing down my final notes. And I'm not actually listening to it anymore.

[1:17:48] Allison: So let me sit my high C louder to get into character.

[1:17:53] Andrew: To get into character.

[1:17:55] Allison: Okay, I'm gonna be OG country Taylor with this song.

[1:18:03] Andrew: Um, it's gonna be different from Reba.

[1:18:03] Allison: Okay.

[1:18:05] Andrew: So keep holding on, 'cause you know we'll make it through. We'll make it through. Just stay strong.

[1:18:17] Allison: 'Cause you know I'm here for you. I'm here for you. There's nothing you could say, nothing you could do.

[1:18:31] Andrew: There's no other way when it comes to the truth. Audio medium, I'm stringing my guitar.

[1:18:36] Allison: I really liked it. And it was really different from Reba.

[1:18:39] Andrew: It was different from Reba.

[1:18:40] Allison: Thank you for saying that. You took the note well. You took the note and you did something with it.

[1:18:45] Andrew: Oh! He's doing the thing! Oh, he's doing the thing! He's doing it!

[1:18:49] Allison: Um, I am, I think surprisingly, one of the staffers from Glee Project is gonna go, is being eliminated this week. And it's the headman himself, Ryan Murphy, is going to be eliminated from the Glee Project.

[1:19:09] Andrew: Um, okay, I need to say something in his voice to get into character, and then I'll do it. Hey, lady, hey lady, hey lady.

[1:19:16] Allison: Hey, lady.

[1:19:23] Andrew: Okay. Keep holding on because you know we'll make it through. We'll make it through. Because you know I'm here for you. I'm here for you. Just stay strong, lady. Because you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you.

[1:19:37] Allison: There's nothing you can say, there's nothing you can do, lady. When it—there's no other way when it comes to the truth, so keep holding on, and we'll see what happens next week on the Glee Project recaps.

[1:19:54] Andrew: Wow, that was beautiful.

[1:19:56] Allison: That was really good.

[1:19:58] Andrew: It sounds more like a kind of like a butler, like your stereotypical butler, but yeah.

[1:20:02] Allison: Yeah, a butler. Ryan Murphy is our butler for making content.

[1:20:07] Andrew: I think it's the other way around.

[1:20:09] Allison: No, we are Ryan Murphy's butlers.

[1:20:11] Andrew: Fuck. Because we keep watching this shit for real, for real.

[1:20:16] Allison: Uh wow. What an episode.

[1:20:19] Andrew: What an episode. What a week.

[1:20:21] Allison: Yeah, I made an announcement on the um Patreon the other day and that I—and I'll reveal it to um the general audience as well that I had a phone call with. I haven't even told you about this, so I'll tell you after that.

[1:20:35] Andrew: You haven't talked about the recording, but I had a reach out to Robert Ulrich, who you might recognize from the Glee Project now that I think about it.

[1:20:45] Allison: This is up. Go take a look.

[1:20:47] Andrew: I think that's—that's his catchphrase. That's his bit.

[1:20:50] Allison: Um yeah, that's his bit. And it really—and Lindsay was like, I want my own. I want um, I want one. Oh, Robert, give me one.

[1:20:57] Andrew: Robert was like, sorry, gotta figure out your for yourself. And um, so I was like, hey Robert, we're talking about the Glee Project. We have a lot of questions about what is going on. Would you want to talk? And he was like, hi, here's my number, so call me maybe.

[1:21:13] Allison: And I called him maybe definitely this weekend, this past weekend, and um, and he is—he's very down to talk, and I'm very, very excited. And so I posted on the Patreon that if you have any questions about um specifically Glee Project, or here's hoping you're able to submit questions about the redacted show or any redacted series for that matter, because he does all the casting for across the board for all of Ryan Murphy's stuff.

[1:21:41] Andrew: Um, if you want to ask questions about that, you're welcome to put that in. Hopefully, by the time that this conversation happens later on in this month. We're recording this on October 2nd, so we're hoping that uh end of October, beginning of November, this will be a conversation that we can have. And hopefully the strike will be over by then.

[1:21:58] Allison: For once.

[1:22:05] Andrew: So very exciting things. Become a patron, patreon.com slash gleek of the week pod. Um, it's a very easy way to be um support our podcast and you know, submit a question.

[1:22:16] Allison: Yeah.

[1:22:18] Andrew: From my mouth to—from your mouth to Robert's ears.

[1:22:22] Allison: I love it.

[1:22:24] Andrew: Um, I'm very excited about that. That is fucking insane and feels like something that's a long time coming, Eras Tour.

[1:22:32] Allison: Um, another way to support our podcast before we go is to leave us Apple Podcast reviews. Um please give us five stars.

[1:22:41] Andrew: I don't even want to give space to the Apple Podcast review that was left.

[1:22:47] Allison: To what happened.

[1:22:48] Andrew: Okay, so we can talk about it because like I feel so fucking annoying. I won't be annoying. I'll be annoyed with the glisteners a little bit right now because we say this at the end of the episode, like leave an Apple Podcast review if you like the content, and then like nobody does anything, which is fine.

[1:23:03] Allison: It's okay. You listen to the content, that's most important. But you know, it would go a long way.

[1:23:08] Andrew: But someone left a really mean review. We're not gonna read it. And I found that by sharing a negative review on social media, then there is an influx of positive reviews from y'all after the fact.

[1:23:25] Allison: And I'm like, I don't want to have to do this, y'all. Like I don't want to. I don't want to get hate in order to get love. You know what I mean? I don't—I don't want to, I don't want to keep on doing this.

[1:23:33] Andrew: So um, I really appreciate everybody that went out of their way to be like, hey, that was shitty that they said that. Um, and also the people that left reviews. That was very, very kind. Um, but if you liked what you heard today, leave an Apple Podcast review. The written ones really, really help out. Um, say something nice. Uh, or you could just leave the five stars, or you could do the same thing on Spotify, and that'd be really, really nice.

[1:23:58] Allison: Don't be fucking mean.

[1:24:00] Andrew: Don't be mean online. All you are just Ryan Murphy and a liar and pathetic and alone in life.

[1:24:08] Allison: And mean.

[1:24:09] Andrew: And mean. We're just Ryan Murphy's butlers at the end of the day.

[1:24:13] Allison: Like the end of the day, come on. We're all in this together. Gosh.

[1:24:18] Andrew: Anyway, okay, we will um thank you, Eduardo.

[1:24:20] Allison: Eduardo submitted a uh podcast review. Homework is done.

[1:24:25] Andrew: I think Edward was talking about uh Robert Ulrich question, but oh you know what? Either way.

[1:24:31] Allison: Edward did both. Thank God.

[1:24:34] Andrew: Okay, Eduardo is star student. Um okay, see all next week for uh part one of the finale.

[1:24:38] Allison: Part one of the finale.

[1:24:45] Andrew: Okay, goodbye, everybody.

[1:24:49] Allison: Clique of the week.
