[0:00] Andrew McGuire: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.
[0:09] Andrew McGuire: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.
[0:18] Andrew McGuire: Gleek it by Gleek it, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.
[0:26] Andrew McGuire: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
[0:35] Andrew McGuire: Everybody chill out.
[0:37] Andrew McGuire: Hey, everybody, everybody calm down. We're talking about Glee. Quiet. Stop. Hey, it's this month's live stream and maybe possibly the last damn live stream of round three of the Glackett. Can you believe that?
[0:51] Allison Dodge: I thought you were gonna just say of all time. I'm not doing that.
[0:54] Andrew McGuire: This is actually gonna be the last episode. I hope you're ready.
[0:59] Andrew McGuire: Hey, we really need to talk about things.
[1:03] Allison Dodge: Yeah, we gotta talk, okay? Let's just get fucking real. Okay, now I can see people's chat. Okay, fun, fun, fun, fun.
[1:11] Andrew McGuire: You got it?
[1:11] Allison Dodge: I got it.
[1:12] Allison Dodge: Hey, Sunday fun day, Sunday Glee day. Andrew, you have things that you want to tell me.
[1:19] Andrew McGuire: I have a couple of things that I want to talk about. I don't really know which one to start with. I'm just, do you want to talk about... Okay, I have two options for you.
[1:30] Allison Dodge: One, sexy time. And the other one, still sexy time, but like less.
[1:37] Andrew McGuire: Oh my God, that's neither? I thought you were going to talk about something that is neither of those. It does not qualify as sexy time unless you think it's sexy.
[1:45] Allison Dodge: I think it's sexy time. I think everything's sexy time to me.
[1:48] Andrew McGuire: Okay, you're calling a Glee-themed drag queen sexy time. Okay, all right. Let's just be very clear about this.
[1:56] Allison Dodge: Yeah, let's start there.
[2:00] Allison Dodge: Okay, so I went to yesterday with Gleek of the Week previous guest, Olivia Kreisler. I went to a Glee-themed drag brunch at Union Rooftop in Minneapolis. And it's this group Flip Phone that does drag brunches themed throughout the year. They've done, I think, Mean Girls in the office, and now they're doing...
[2:26] Andrew McGuire: Oh, that's so fun.
[2:27] Allison Dodge: Yeah, I think they've done Broadway. They're doing High School Musical coming up here. And so this weekend was Glee. And I was like, okay, they do these events all the time. I can't imagine all of these queens are Gleeks.
[2:49] Andrew McGuire: They can't be. They simply can't.
[2:50] Allison Dodge: I don't know how deep they're going to take it. I'm like, okay, they're going to dance around to Don't Stop Believing. They're going to dance around to Teenage Dream. And that's going to be it. I don't think... I didn't have very high expectations.
[3:03] Andrew McGuire: Kind of surface level Glee-themed.
[3:04] Allison Dodge: Yes. The other drag shows I've been to have been at the Minnesota State Fair, which is a very...
[3:10] Andrew McGuire: I think that's kind of... I'm hearing the spot to watch drag.
[3:16] Allison Dodge: The spot for drag. And then also the Gay 90s in Minneapolis, where I was heavily intoxicated.
[3:24] Andrew McGuire: Oh, I thought you meant like in the 90s.
[3:27] Allison Dodge: No, there's a club called the Gay 90s in Minneapolis.
[3:30] Andrew McGuire: The Gay 90s. Okay. Blackout.
[3:34] Allison Dodge: So I didn't really know what to expect. And oh, my God. The Glee...
[3:40] Andrew McGuire: I want to hear... What is the set list?
[3:43] Allison Dodge: Okay, so I'm walking up. You got to go up these set of stairs. I'm going to set the scene for you. You're walking up these set of stairs. Already, so many people dressed up as Sue Sylvester, Rachel Berry, in their Cheerios uniforms.
[3:56] Andrew McGuire: Me.
[3:56] Allison Dodge: Iconic.
[3:58] Andrew McGuire: No, they're dressed up as me.
[3:59] Allison Dodge: As Andrew McGuire. Famous Gleek, Andrew McGuire.
[4:03] Allison Dodge: Well, I walked into that room and I'm like, okay, everybody, I'm here. Like the show...
[4:07] Andrew McGuire: Hey, guys.
[4:08] Allison Dodge: The show can begin. Like who recognizes me?
[4:10] Andrew McGuire: Everybody messaged me and they were like, hey, I'm here at the drag brunch in Minnesota and Allison's here. Should I say anything? And I'm like, please don't say anything.
[4:18] Andrew McGuire: She's just trying to have fun. Like, come on.
[4:22] Allison Dodge: She just wants to be normal.
[4:23] Andrew McGuire: Yeah. So we walk up the stairs and already over the loudspeakers, they're playing Can't Fight This Feeling. And I'm like, okay, great.
[4:34] Allison Dodge: Immediately.
[4:34] Andrew McGuire: Immediately sobbing.
[4:36] Allison Dodge: That's a big one for you.
[4:37] Andrew McGuire: A huge one. Like the biggest, probably. Maybe. I don't know.
[4:42] Allison Dodge: We're just saying shit.
[4:43] Andrew McGuire: No, framing this drag brunch, I think seeing these songs performed completely changed my opinions on all of them.
[4:51] Allison Dodge: I am a different person today on this blanket than I was yesterday.
[4:57] Andrew McGuire: Huh. In what way?
[4:59] Allison Dodge: So each queen would come out in like two Glee characters. They did one at the beginning, took a break, and then came out as another one.
[5:08] Andrew McGuire: A different costume change?
[5:10] Allison Dodge: Costume change. Costume change set list was dedicated to that character. And some of them had like clips of the show that they were lip syncing to.
[5:19] Andrew McGuire: It was absolutely incredible.
[5:21] Allison Dodge: There was Tina Cohen Chang was first out in kind of a regionals-esque dress.
[5:29] Andrew McGuire: Perfect.
[5:30] Allison Dodge: So good doing Hung Up, doing True Colors, and then another one that I can't remember.
[5:38] Andrew McGuire: But after Tina was Blaine Warbler.
[5:43] Allison Dodge: Yes.
[5:44] Andrew McGuire: God bless.
[5:44] Allison Dodge: In the Warbler.
[5:45] Andrew McGuire: In the Warbler outfit, in the vest and everything.
[5:48] Allison Dodge: Oh my God, it was so good.
[5:49] Andrew McGuire: I'm just shocked, constantly reminded, like shocked by the concert reminders of how many people give a fuck about this show in real life.
[5:58] Allison Dodge: No, it's insane.
[5:59] Andrew McGuire: No, it's actually crazy.
[6:00] Allison Dodge: When you sent me the videos, I was like, wait, that's full.
[6:03] Andrew McGuire: No, it was crazy.
[6:05] Allison Dodge: Coming out, one of the queens came out as Britney Spears, as Britney S. Pierce.
[6:10] Andrew McGuire: Britney S. Pierce as Britney Spears in the Slave For You outfit with a fake snake.
[6:16] Allison Dodge: I saw the fake snake and I'm like, I have that fake snake.
[6:20] Andrew McGuire: I have that same fake snake.
[6:22] Allison Dodge: So you should be doing this.
[6:24] Andrew McGuire: I should be.
[6:25] Allison Dodge: You know what? I should be in the show.
[6:26] Andrew McGuire: You should be in the show.
[6:28] Allison Dodge: I have that fake snake somewhere in storage.
[6:30] Andrew McGuire: Anyway, it's iconic.
[6:31] Allison Dodge: It was so good.
[6:33] Allison Dodge: The biggest songs that I think changed my opinion was, they came out as Kurt and did a bunch of Kurt songs.
[6:44] Andrew McGuire: The first Kurt song was I Am The Greatest Star.
[6:48] Allison Dodge: Oh, and that's a stinker for you.
[6:50] Andrew McGuire: And that really just changed me.
[6:53] Allison Dodge: I was like, I don't know if it's time has passed or if I'm just in a different head space.
[7:01] Andrew McGuire: But I was like, wow, this is...
[7:03] Allison Dodge: You're getting it.
[7:03] Andrew McGuire: This is great.
[7:05] Allison Dodge: And...
[7:05] Andrew McGuire: Stick around for the jokes.
[7:07] Allison Dodge: Stick around for the jokes.
[7:08] Allison Dodge: I was like, I needed to be eating brunch as the drag queen Dick Van Dyke performing this.
[7:16] Andrew McGuire: Maybe eat brunch to actually be able to like...
[7:18] Allison Dodge: To process this.
[7:19] Andrew McGuire: Digest the colo version of I'm The Greatest Star.
[7:22] Allison Dodge: Exactly.
[7:23] Allison Dodge: And I am obsessed.
[7:26] Allison Dodge: And then the other song...
[7:29] Allison Dodge: So the final queen was dressed up as Rachel Berry, of course.
[7:32] Andrew McGuire: We gotta end.
[7:34] Allison Dodge: I was saying to Olivia, I was like, nobody's come out dressed as Rachel Berry. That's gotta be the last one.
[7:39] Andrew McGuire: So of course, coming out doing Dromp.
[7:41] Allison Dodge: Dromp.
[7:42] Andrew McGuire: Gotta do Dromp.
[7:43] Allison Dodge: She dropped on them.
[7:44] Andrew McGuire: She dropped all over us.
[7:45] Allison Dodge: And then did the Don't Stop Believing, but Rachel solo version.
[7:54] Andrew McGuire: Uh-huh.
[7:55] Allison Dodge: And I was like, wait, I'm okay with this.
[8:01] Andrew McGuire: This is weird.
[8:04] Allison Dodge: That really has never really moved the needle at all for me.
[8:07] Andrew McGuire: So I'm just like, it would really...
[8:09] Allison Dodge: What do you feel about it now?
[8:11] Andrew McGuire: I just needed to be in a setting where somebody is singing that to a crowd, and the crowd is like chanting it back.
[8:17] Allison Dodge: And I'm like, oh wow, this is like a spiritual experience right now.
[8:21] Andrew McGuire: Yeah.
[8:21] Allison Dodge: This is kind of crazy.
[8:22] Andrew McGuire: That really changed.
[8:23] Allison Dodge: It was the experience for me.
[8:25] Andrew McGuire: Now, will I go back to the mp3 anytime soon? Not quite sure.
[8:28] Allison Dodge: Absolutely not.
[8:30] Andrew McGuire: Baby needs brunch in front of her.
[8:32] Allison Dodge: Maybe then I'll...
[8:33] Andrew McGuire: Not unless I got that brunch.
[8:35] Allison Dodge: Unless I got that frittata on a bed of lettuce.
[8:40] Andrew McGuire: Okay?
[8:40] Allison Dodge: The only way to digest a rollover version of Don't Stop Believing.
[8:45] Andrew McGuire: Yeah.
[8:45] Allison Dodge: And then as we were packing up to leave, they were like, okay, everybody stand up for this last song as we say goodbye.
[8:52] Andrew McGuire: Loser Like Me.
[8:54] Allison Dodge: Yeah.
[8:55] Andrew McGuire: I was like...
[8:55] Allison Dodge: Season five version.
[8:56] Andrew McGuire: The strip down.
[8:58] Allison Dodge: Yeah.
[8:59] Andrew McGuire: I was like, oh, yeah.
[9:02] Allison Dodge: This is great.
[9:03] Andrew McGuire: And it hit.
[9:03] Allison Dodge: It did hit.
[9:04] Andrew McGuire: But you kind of always have been like a Loser Like Me head.
[9:06] Allison Dodge: I've always been a little bit of a Loser Like Me head.
[9:10] Andrew McGuire: I think that...
[9:11] Allison Dodge: I wish that everybody had this.
[9:13] Allison Dodge: There was one of the queen that was dressed up as Jane Lynch.
[9:16] Andrew McGuire: Sue Sylvester had like a scarf.
[9:18] Allison Dodge: I know who she plays on the show.
[9:19] Andrew McGuire: You're familiar?
[9:21] Allison Dodge: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[9:22] Andrew McGuire: She plays Sue Sylvester.
[9:24] Allison Dodge: Yeah, yeah.
[9:25] Allison Dodge: They had a cup and then stuffed in the cup was a scarf that was tied to the cup.
[9:29] Andrew McGuire: So when she threw the cup, the scarf came out, but it like stayed.
[9:35] Allison Dodge: Yeah.
[9:35] Andrew McGuire: I was like, oh, that is so good.
[9:38] Allison Dodge: Genius.
[9:38] Andrew McGuire: That is just absolutely top tier.
[9:41] Allison Dodge: And if you live in the Twin Cities area, please make time.
[9:46] Allison Dodge: Do not miss the opportunity.
[9:47] Allison Dodge: Attend a flip phone event.
[9:49] Andrew McGuire: That was really...
[9:50] Allison Dodge: They've been doing it for years and I haven't gone.
[9:54] Andrew McGuire: And really just life changing.
[9:55] Allison Dodge: Because you like let me know like a month ago, like, hey, I'm going to this.
[9:58] Andrew McGuire: I'm going to this drag brunch.
[10:00] Allison Dodge: Okay.
[10:01] Andrew McGuire: Everybody's telling their gay friend that they're going to a drag brunch.
[10:05] Allison Dodge: Okay.
[10:05] Andrew McGuire: Who else am I going to tell?
[10:08] Allison Dodge: Who the fuck else am I going to tell?
[10:13] Andrew McGuire: And then you sent me videos.
[10:14] Allison Dodge: I was like, oh, damn.
[10:16] Andrew McGuire: The entire damn thing is based around the HitFox show.
[10:19] Allison Dodge: Is Glee.
[10:20] Andrew McGuire: Yeah.
[10:20] Allison Dodge: You didn't I tell you it was a Glee drag brunch?
[10:24] Andrew McGuire: I don't remember that detail.
[10:25] Allison Dodge: Oh, I don't think I would have just told you if I was going to a drag brunch.
[10:30] Andrew McGuire: I was like, no, you're allowed to tell me that you're going to a drag brunch ahead of time.
[10:34] Allison Dodge: I'm writing that down.
[10:35] Andrew McGuire: I'm allowed.
[10:36] Allison Dodge: It's not weird.
[10:37] Andrew McGuire: You can let me know that you're going to a drag brunch.
[10:41] Allison Dodge: Anyway, so I'm really glad that you had that little experience.
[10:46] Andrew McGuire: Yeah, it was amazing.
[10:47] Allison Dodge: It was very fun and changed my life.
[10:51] Andrew McGuire: And I just love a Glee event.
[10:53] Allison Dodge: What's the other freaky thing?
[10:55] Andrew McGuire: Oh, the other freaky thing is, do you know what the Quinn app is?
[11:01] Allison Dodge: Girl.
[11:03] Andrew McGuire: No, I don't know what the Quinn app is.
[11:05] Allison Dodge: I'm like, find it.
[11:06] Andrew McGuire: What's the joke she made about the braid?
[11:07] Allison Dodge: No.
[11:09] Andrew McGuire: Oh, I didn't even make that connection.
[11:10] Allison Dodge: That's funny.
[11:11] Andrew McGuire: Oh yeah, that's funny.
[11:16] Allison Dodge: No, the Quinn app is a audio smut, like porn, basically.
[11:24] Andrew McGuire: Yeah.
[11:24] Allison Dodge: It ranges from like, here's clips of men heavy breathing to full smut stories.
[11:32] Andrew McGuire: And they get celebrities to read these smut stories.
[11:35] Allison Dodge: They got the Heated Rivalry Boys to read a smut story a couple months ago.
[11:41] Andrew McGuire: Okay.
[11:41] Allison Dodge: And I was like, okay, if Quinn had existed in the year of our Lord, 2010, they would have gotten a Glee person.
[12:06] Andrew McGuire: I think that's Darren.
[12:08] Allison Dodge: That's a Darren email.
[12:10] Andrew McGuire: That was what I was gonna ask.
[12:11] Allison Dodge: He's like, who do you think they would have gotten to do read a smut story?
[12:15] Andrew McGuire: And what do you think the story would have been?
[12:17] Allison Dodge: I think they would have gotten Darren and Chris Colfer to do it.
[12:20] Andrew McGuire: And the internet would have been crazy.
[12:22] Allison Dodge: And you know what?
[12:23] Andrew McGuire: And you would have been like, hummina, hummina, hummina, hummina, ooga.
[12:28] Allison Dodge: My ears are kind of getting a little wrecked.
[12:31] Andrew McGuire: Steam coming out of them.
[12:33] Allison Dodge: I'm warm.
[12:35] Andrew McGuire: Wait, what are you listening?
[12:36] Allison Dodge: Can I ask without?
[12:37] Andrew McGuire: I don't know.
[12:37] Allison Dodge: Is that an inappropriate question?
[12:38] Andrew McGuire: What are you listening to?
[12:40] Allison Dodge: I don't personally have the Quinn app downloaded anymore.
[12:44] Andrew McGuire: Okay.
[12:46]
[12:47] Allison Dodge: I do consume smut on a semi-regular basis because I am who I am.
[12:52] Andrew: You're real as hell for that.
[12:54] Allison Dodge: Yeah. I am deep just in the Sarah J. Mash trenches of fairies. Okay.
[13:04] Andrew: Okay, fairies.
[13:05] Allison Dodge: The Heated Rivalry Boys, I think, read a fairy smut story on the app.
[13:10] Andrew: And you did go hummina hummina?
[13:12] Allison Dodge: I did go hummina hummina ooga ooga. Yeah, I was like, I love them.
[13:16] Andrew: Speaking of hummina hummina ooga ooga, do you have, I didn't ask you ahead of time, but do you have a Gleckit things to say? Or what do you think?
[13:25] Allison Dodge: You know what? I just want to have fun. Girls just want to have fun. And I really hope that something that I saw at Glee Drag Brunch...
[13:35] Andrew: Dromp is still in here. I feel Dromp in this Chili's tonight.
[13:38] Allison Dodge: I do too. I do too. I'm very excited. Very excited.
[13:43] Andrew: Anything else that you want to say before we bring in our first Glee?
[13:46] Allison Dodge: Somebody in the chat just said, Heated Rivalry Mpreg doesn't hit as good as Clean Mpreg.
[13:50] Andrew: Yeah. You had to be there. I feel like AO3...
[13:55] Allison Dodge: I'm glad that I wasn't doing all that with Glee.
[13:59] Andrew: You weren't reading fanfic at all?
[14:03] Allison Dodge: No. I was looking at the fan art. Very cutesy. There's a specific Britannia fanfic that I really, really liked. Fan art, sorry. But no, not the fanfic.
[14:15] Andrew: Not for you. I obviously knew about the big one, of course. Pavarotti, Protocol.
[14:20] Allison Dodge: Yeah. That's not even changing the subject. Move on.
[14:24] Andrew: Anyway. Anyway.
[14:25] Andrew: Do we need to bring in our first Gleek Gleek?
[14:27] Allison Dodge: Yeah, let's do that. Okay. We're bringing in Elliot. Hey.
[14:33] Elliot: What's up, friends? Hey, Gleeks.
[14:36] Allison Dodge: Hey, Gleeks.
[14:40] Elliot: I feel like I'm almost playing the part of a fake Gleek today. I feel like fake as hell, but I'm going to be real. I'm going to be a real Gleek today.
[14:48] Allison Dodge: You're a real Gleek. You're a real Gleek.
[14:50] Andrew: I'm standing 10 toes down. Elliot, thank you so much for coming on. Thank you for being a patron. Thank you for just, I don't know, being you. Elliot, how are you?
[15:00] Elliot: I'm fabulous. I've been super sick for two weeks, and today's the first day in two weeks that I've actually felt good. So I'm like, really good. Like, lined up.
[15:12] Allison Dodge: Yes. Yeah.
[15:16] Andrew: I'm glad that you're here and you're well. Wait, you've been listening for a while. Yes?
[15:22] Elliot: Yes. Yes, I have. We'll just get into that part. I found the podcast. You cool with that?
[15:28] Andrew: Okay. Yeah.
[15:29] Elliot: I'm not trying to take your job or nothing.
[15:31] Andrew: No, no, no, mama. This is all you.
[15:33] Elliot: I got lots of stuff to say, but I'm going to keep it cool.
[15:38] Elliot: So I've been following Matt and Amon Adwin, Choir Room.
[15:45] Elliot: I've been following them since 2020 in the Choir Room.
[15:49] Elliot: And I kept hearing Gleek of the Week podcast mentioned all the time.
[15:53] Elliot: And I was like, I do not have the time to consume another podcast. So I kept putting it off. Sorry.
[15:58] Andrew: Specifically about the HitFox show.
[16:00] Elliot: Yeah, I know. I was just like, so exhausted of like COVID and everything and all that.
[16:05] Andrew: Yeah.
[16:05] Elliot: But then last year, I started listening to it after my grandpa died because I was sad.
[16:11] Elliot: And so I was like, I'm just gonna do this because it sounds really fun.
[16:15] Elliot: Because I've been listening to Diary Room and they have the wheel and like the black, they have the bracket. And I was like, oh my gosh, they and then he was like, we totally took this from Gleek of the Week. And I'm like, this is my sign. Go see Gleek of the Week.
[16:28] Elliot: Because I've been thinking about it for a long time. And so it was just like, sure, why not? And so I'm obsessed.
[16:36] Elliot: And so I'm, I'm simultaneously listening to the backlogs. I'm halfway through over halfway through round one, but also started listening, but also started listening to the early releases from when I joined the Patreon group. And so but I last on Friday, I sat down with the glacket, put them on my iPad. I went through every single competition.
[17:01] Elliot: I'm kind of I'm lowkey scared.
[17:03] Andrew: And round one. Perfect. No notes.
[17:07] Elliot: Perfect. No notes.
[17:08] Andrew: No notes on round one.
[17:09] Elliot: Round one, no notes.
[17:11] Allison Dodge: That was all you.
[17:12] Andrew: It was all me.
[17:13] Elliot: No notes.
[17:14] Andrew: And then she left. And then it went really, really, really wrong.
[17:18] Elliot: Round two is where it gets a little tricky.
[17:22] Andrew: Okay, how many grievances? Because of course, this is an Alison Dodge episode.
[17:26] Elliot: So I mean, I want to be I want to be cautious.
[17:30] Allison Dodge: Yes, we will. I won't. I won't. I won't go too much. But I'll just
[17:33] Elliot: You know the game.
[17:34] Allison Dodge: Yeah, I'll just hit the big ones. Take a bow.
[17:39] Elliot: Wait, what did that lose to?
[17:40] Allison Dodge: Jessie's girl.
[17:42] Elliot: Oh, but then. Oh, oh, yeah, I agree.
[17:45] Allison Dodge: It beat Jessie's girl. And then it lost to Jessie's girl.
[17:49] Elliot: Alison, I don't know if you remember this. Take a bow was against Jessie's girl in round one.
[17:53] Allison Dodge: Take a bow one. It was the Brooke Averick episode.
[17:56] Elliot: Oh, I love Brooke Averick.
[17:58] Allison Dodge: You love that girl. And then that was the only time and then Jessie's girl was voted back. And that was the only time that two songs met each other again.
[18:08] Elliot: That's really crazy.
[18:10] Allison Dodge: And I'm not happy about it because take a bow should have made it to at least round three, maybe round four.
[18:15] Elliot: I love it so much. The hairbrush. Come on.
[18:18] Allison Dodge: Yeah, that's my opinion.
[18:21] Elliot: How the fuck did Crush make it to round three?
[18:26] Allison Dodge: Well, this is Alison the Dodge.
[18:29] Elliot: How the fuck did Crush?
[18:31] Allison Dodge: We're looking at I don't know where you are in the backlog right now. In round one, it won against I Just Can't Stop Loving You.
[18:38] Elliot: And then in round two, it won against Police Love It Died.
[18:41] Allison Dodge: I know.
[18:41] Elliot: And then in round three, it died.
[18:43] Allison Dodge: Yeah, round three died. But it shouldn't have gotten past round one.
[18:48] Elliot: I mean,
[18:50] Allison Dodge: What happened to fun?
[18:52] Elliot: Almost. I just have a very, I have a personal vendetta against that episode of Glee.
[19:00] Allison Dodge: So basically, any song from that episode, I'm like, you're done. Dead. Bye.
[19:06] Elliot: What else is in that episode? Young Girl.
[19:09] Allison Dodge: Young Girl.
[19:10] Elliot: That one is good. Endless Love made it pretty far just for the reason we got now.
[19:15] Allison Dodge: Was that You're Having My Baby as well?
[19:17] Elliot: Yeah, there's some good songs in there. I just have a personal vendetta against that episode.
[19:21] Allison Dodge: So yeah, because my high school was my high school choir was a little bit too much like the Glee Club.
[19:31] Elliot: Oh, a little bit too close to home.
[19:35] Allison Dodge: The tea. Mr. Shoe was a saint compared to so.
[19:43] Elliot: Oh, hey. Okay.
[19:46] Allison Dodge: So that's why I have a personal vendetta against that episode.
[19:52] Elliot: And Sweet Transvestite beating love song. That's a that's a
[19:59] Andrew: How do you feel about this, Allison?
[20:01] Allison Dodge: What?
[20:03] Elliot: Sweet Transvestite beating love song.
[20:06] Allison Dodge: Um, I like that a lot.
[20:08] Andrew: It's fine. It's good. I mean, like love song I love so much, but like,
[20:13] Allison Dodge: Sweet Transvestite, you got to come on. Come on. Let's be real.
[20:17] Elliot: I mean, the looks, the scene, that's like,
[20:21] Allison Dodge: Everything.
[20:21] Elliot: Looking camp directly in the eyes and the face.
[20:23] Allison Dodge: I love the scene, but I also Quinn is my favorite character. So
[20:29] Elliot: Okay, okay.
[20:30] Allison Dodge: Okay. And she went all the way to New York and she was like, Rachel, you cannot get naked.
[20:35] Elliot: Yeah, I know.
[20:36] Allison Dodge: Yeah, so funny.
[20:40] Elliot: But my biggest one, my biggest, biggest, biggest problem.
[20:47] Elliot: Getting married today, losing to Cherish Cherish in round three.
[20:52] Allison Dodge: You can check the tapes on that one. I voted for getting married today.
[20:55] Elliot: Yeah, I did. I know you voted for that one. So good.
[20:59] Allison Dodge: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yes.
[21:00] Elliot: That is criminal. That is wrong. That is bad. Jay Mays deserves justice.
[21:09] Allison Dodge: Yep.
[21:12] Elliot: Yeah, I'm still I'm gonna be sad about it. It should have made it to at least round four, maybe round five. That's what I'm saying.
[21:20] Elliot: Buenos Aires losing to problem.
[21:24] Andrew: Matt and Ian. I'm so sad. I'm so sad about Matt and Ian voting for problem. I looked it up. I was like, okay, Matthew voted or Matt and Ian were ones who voted for problem. So that's very sad.
[21:40] Allison Dodge: No, it's crazy. And then problems in round four right now.
[21:42] Elliot: I know.
[21:43] Andrew: I know.
[21:44] Elliot: It's so sick. It's sick and twisted.
[21:46] Allison Dodge: They performed the problem at Glee Drag Brunch.
[21:50] Elliot: Oh, hey.
[21:50] Allison Dodge: Very fun.
[21:51] Elliot: Very fun.
[21:53] Allison Dodge: Nice.
[21:54] Elliot: But yeah, that's pretty much for my Glee grievances.
[22:01] Allison Dodge: Glee grievance, not even not even
[22:03] Elliot: my Glee grievances.
[22:05] Allison Dodge: There we go.
[22:06] Elliot: That's just, I do want to I do want to highlight something. The Quinn wheelchair storyline.
[22:12] Allison Dodge: As a disabled self advocate. I don't actually have a huge problem with it. I don't have a huge problem with how Quinn portrayed the character. I have a huge problem with how everyone else in the Glee Club reacted to it.
[22:26] Elliot: In what way?
[22:27] Allison Dodge: Because ambulatory wheelchair users exist. And so Artie Abrams being like, girl, you need to accept this is your life and you're never gonna walk again. Because she was like, and he and I was like, no, your spinal cord injuries are different. Like, seriously, right?
[22:45] Elliot: It's true. You were in a different car crash. Yeah.
[22:48] Allison Dodge: Yeah. Like seriously.
[22:51] Elliot: You were in two separate car crashes.
[22:52] Allison Dodge: Yeah.
[22:54] Elliot: And then Finn Hudson, him freaking the fuck out in the bathroom. Boy, Quinn could barely walk.
[23:03] Allison Dodge: She could barely walk. She could only take like two steps at that point.
[23:06] Elliot: We're on the same page here. Yes.
[23:08] Allison Dodge: Why the fuck you freaking out? She wants to have a special moment at prom that she's been working really hard for in therapy.
[23:16] Elliot: With her with her physical therapist, Joe.
[23:18] Allison Dodge: Yeah, right. He's like, yeah, let's go to a little kiss.
[23:22] Elliot: 15 year old Joe Hart.
[23:24] Allison Dodge: I know, that makes no sense to me. That makes no sense to me.
[23:28] Elliot: I was rewatching that scene recently. And I was like, there's literally physical therapists in there.
[23:33] Allison Dodge: Yeah, they're working around.
[23:35] Elliot: Letting him do shit. Yeah.
[23:37] Allison Dodge: Weird.
[23:38] Elliot: Whoa.
[23:39] Allison Dodge: Weird.
[23:40] Elliot: Yeah, that doesn't make sense.
[23:41] Andrew: Elliot.
[23:42] Elliot: Yes.
[23:43] Andrew: Thank you so much for taking us through those Glackett grievances. What do you want to see today? What is what is on your your hit list?
[23:49] Elliot: I looked at that. I looked at the Glackett because I knew you had asked me that.
[23:56] Elliot: Hung up. It hung up still in it.
[23:58] Andrew: Hang up. Hung up is still here.
[23:59] Elliot: Yes. Love that.
[24:01] Allison Dodge: Oh, baby.
[24:02] Elliot: Nutbush City Limits, please.
[24:05] Allison Dodge: Please.
[24:06] Elliot: I mean, Drump. Yeah, because it's Drump. But at the same time.
[24:10] Allison Dodge: Those are three big divas right there.
[24:12] Elliot: Yeah. At the same time, I could go without Drump. I wouldn't be disappointed.
[24:17] Allison Dodge: You're done with Drump? You're ready to get rid of Drump?
[24:19] Elliot: No, no, no. I mean, like, I don't have to talk about it.
[24:21] Allison Dodge: Oh.
[24:22] Elliot: I wanted to go on like, for sure. Like, that was the big song that I was singing in middle school because I watched from the very, live all the way from the very beginning.
[24:32] Allison Dodge: Yeah.
[24:32] Elliot: So yeah. Oh, yes. One Last Bell. That's such a good with the with the April wrote, Eduardo.
[24:41] Allison Dodge: Yeah, that's a good one. But yeah, let's take a look. Let's see what we got.
[24:46] Andrew: Oh, God.
[24:47] Elliot: I'm scared. I'm so scared.
[24:57] Andrew: Every time this has been pulled, Allison has been here.
[25:01] Allison Dodge: Oh, very fun.
[25:03] Andrew: So this is this is kind of like your
[25:06] Allison Dodge: my anthem song. This is your constant.
[25:09] Andrew: And on International Women's Day, too. That's really beautiful.
[25:12] Allison Dodge: It's in it. And it's a song about a what it's a song sung by a woman about a man.
[25:18] Elliot: Oh, okay.
[25:21] Andrew: You know what this is?
[25:25] Allison Dodge: What is it? Papa? Can you hear me?
[25:27] Elliot: The one I didn't want.
[25:29] Allison Dodge: Well, this is the one that you deserve.
[25:33] Andrew: I know.
[25:34] Andrew: Okay.
[25:37] Andrew: Oh, you know, I have thought long, but nothing, not nearly as long as Allison. I don't know if you remember who we watched this with in round one, Nightmare Fuel.
[25:53] Allison Dodge: Who did we watch this with in round one?
[25:56] Andrew: The 45 minutes that we had with Ali Stroker. We watched all of that together.
[26:03] Allison Dodge: Wow, we spent how many, what percentage of those 45 minutes that we had? I'm just like, I want to like, go back in time and just be like, don't do that. Don't do that with Ali Stroker.
[26:16] Andrew: That taught us though. That taught us, okay, you've got limited time, figure out what you want to do.
[26:23] Allison Dodge: Yeah.
[26:24] Andrew: Figure out what you want to do. Okay. Anyway, Elliot, begin the discourse on Papa. Can you hear me?
[26:30] Elliot: I have thoughts. First, as a board certified music therapist and a medical music therapist at that, I hope to God she was not singing that loud and belting in his hospital room. That is so bad for him. And one, we don't even know. That's not, we do know what he likes. He likes John Mellencamp. You should be singing John Mellencamp.
[26:59] Andrew: Right.
[27:00] Elliot: In his hospital room. You should not be, I get the point. And that episode is actually in my top two on my Glackett that I made for the episodes.
[27:08] Andrew: Yeah.
[27:08] Elliot: Is Against Blame and On the Alcohol. We will talk about that another time. But so I love this episode. It's one of my favorites. And I love the fact that they're all coming together. And there's so much spirituality, like as a queer person who's also very spiritual, and been through a lot of that. I love it. But I just can't get past the whole screaming in a hospital room. And it really bothers me. So I really hope that I really hope it's just that she didn't actually.
[27:43] Andrew: But it looks like she really did. Because she's like, Okay, who's next? Like she really did that in his hospital room. I love it in the cemetery in the cemetery. It's lovely.
[27:51] Allison Dodge: Wait, but like, I understand that it's filmed in a cemetery. But is that can't that's not canon supposed to be a cemetery. They're supposed to just be in like, in the park.
[28:00] Andrew: Yeah, they're in the park. Yeah, they are in the park. I don't know why I said that. But they're in the park. And I love that part where it because like, Finn's just like, I don't know what the fuck she's doing.
[28:11] Elliot: Gorgeous shot. I feel like I forget every single time of like the stars. It's like, your blade of grass next to Finchel you're looking up at.
[28:23] Andrew: I literally watched this episode today.
[28:26] Allison Dodge: No. This is your second time seeing Papa, can you hear me today?
[28:31] Elliot: Yeah.
[28:32] Allison Dodge: Papa, can you watch me twice?
[28:34] Elliot: Yeah, that's why that's why that's why I was like, so kind of bummed out. But also like, I'm glad I got to share that discourse of the whole sure the music therapy part like this is a no no. This is very bad. If I was the music therapist, I would come in and I'll be like, excuse me. No, how can I help you? Sing some John Mellencamp.
[28:55] Elliot: John Mellencamp and at lower volumes because his brain is healing right now. So wow, this is I'm really learning a lot. Awesome. What do you think?
[29:06] Allison Dodge: I think I'm the reason why this is still here. Because I love this. I do. Over the years. I've like warmed up to it. Um, it's fine. Now. I get it.
[29:23] Allison Dodge: Yeah, I'm like funny. My disbelief that Rachel is belting it at Kurt's dad. I'm suspending my disbelief there. I'm assuming that everything's checked out. And okay. But I hey, the permission slip to sing Papa. Can you hear me in the hospital room? So it won against werewolves of London and round one to one against I'm the greatest star season five.
[29:55] Andrew: Oh, that's good. That was me. Yes, that was me. I can. Um, yeah, I like it now. It's fine. I think it's silly. I do think that like, why do they have so much like this like literally feels like Ryan Murphy wet dream to me coded that it's like, oh, like he just like wanted to he had money to spend.
[30:18] Allison Dodge: Yeah, that was just like, let's, let's it's just so long. Wait, how long is that? Let me bring it's pretty long. I was almost almost five minutes.
[30:29] Elliot: It's a three, three, four. Okay. Yeah. So it's like, it just goes on for a very long time. I think this is definitely the end of Papa. Can you hear me? No, we'll see what I have to say about that. Hmm. Any final thoughts on Papa? Can you hear me before we see? I wish we had gone in this the cemetery when we were in Los Angeles, we walked around it. There was a wall. And we were like touching the wall. And we're like, wow, we can feel that it's on the other side of this where they feel we can we can feel Papa, you can feel what is the you're just like Papa? You are like Papa. Yeah. Yeah.
[31:15] Andrew: Um, okay. Let's see. Oh, God. Oh, Papa, Papa.
[31:24] Andrew: Oh, no. Oh, God. Oh, God.
[31:29] Andrew: Oh, God. This is not good. Papa. Strange behavior. This is sometimes the Galactic competitions just feel really, really. Curse child, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Here she is.
[31:49] Elliot: Papa, can you hear me is boy? He him? Yes. Okay. Oh, okay. It shows like the thumbnail from the middle of the performance. Weird. Elliot or Allison? Do you have any idea what the hell this is? We can see it at the top.
[32:04] Allison Dodge: Oh, that's perfect.
[32:09] Elliot: We can see the title you fucking it's right fucking there.
[32:14] Allison Dodge: I'm a lot to say about this. Y'all mind if I you please you go for it. Here's the mic on the kitchen. I'm gonna I'm gonna cook. Y'all want anything? All right. Here we go. I have the most complicated will they won't they relationship with this song? Oh, okay. I for a while I was like, like, I was I feel like I was streaming in high school. I was like, this is fun. But then like, as I got older, this was this is wedding song coded. I was gonna say white people love this at weddings. Yeah. And like for good reason. Like it kind of like they give you things to do like a little bit softer. Now it's like something like go down a bit like it's easy. Like we we get what to do and just slide vibes. Yeah, right.
Cha cha slide. Grandpa is shout. And shout to me. Gosh, I just feel like because it's such like a straight song that there's something about two straight people playing gay characters, Blaine and Brittany. And I'm like, we're kind of this is kind of like the reclaimed version of shell a little bit. And like, we kind of have our own shell. I'm here in the shell. Um, I like it. But also like, there are so like, the bad thing about it is like, while I'm watching it, I don't know about you. But like, there are times where I'm watching a glee performance like this coded specifically like shout that I'm like, I'm embarrassed to like this show. Actually. Yeah, this is, you know, this is like not even like, but like they are it's, it's Disney Channel.
Yes. It this is so far from what a high schooler would actually choose to perform. That it's like, who decided this? Who made everything a thrift shop? That's what I exactly. I agree with Lauren in the chat. This will be going on the do not play this song at my wedding, along with the Macarena and Uptown Funk. I like a Macarena. Macarena is fine with me.
[34:37] Andrew: Okay, well, we'll do it in the getting ready space just for you. We could do we could do you know, it'd be really fun. Like a stripped down version of Macarena.
[34:44] Allison Dodge: Macarena. Yeah.
[34:50] Andrew: No, and we all like kind of like take our time like really like hitting the moves.
[34:55] Allison Dodge: Oh, but you can hear all of the words to the verses.
[34:58] Andrew: Yes, when you walk down the aisle. You can do that.
[35:05] Allison Dodge: How do you think about this song?
[35:07] Elliot: My mom, a lovely baby boomer loves this performance and loves this song.
[35:14] Allison Dodge: Wait, specifically Glee Cast version.
[35:16] Elliot: Well, she loves this song. And when it was on Glee, she thought it was cute and fun. So yeah, okay, she she just loved it. This is her music. So her. So she was like, vibing it. And so I'm just like it. Do we know?
[35:31] Andrew: What's the winner of her Glackett? Do we know what the winner of her Glackett is?
[35:34] Elliot: She don't got one. She works 60 hours a week.
[35:37] Andrew: I know. But like, come on, Elliot, play with me.
[35:41] Elliot: My mom's Glackett would probably the winner of her Glackett would probably be.
[35:49] Allison Dodge: I feel pretty unpretty.
[35:51] Elliot: There we go. Yes. Because me and her.
[35:52] Allison Dodge: Taste.
[35:53] Elliot: Me and her. Well, me and her. It's one of my favorites, too. It's on the top. Top five of mine. I had to look at my notes.
[36:00] Andrew: Let me acknowledge the ranking.
[36:04] Elliot: But yeah, because we sing it as a duet together. I think she sings Rachel. So.
[36:10] Allison Dodge: Oh, yeah.
[36:11] Elliot: Your mom wants your nose.
[36:13] Andrew: Yes. But yeah, this with this song. It didn't do anything for me. I mean, I could leave or take it or leave it, you know, but I am here for sugar.
[36:26] Allison Dodge: My dancing on the table.
[36:27] Elliot: She's having fun. She's vibing.
[36:29] Allison Dodge: Choices. Yeah, I love it.
[36:31] Elliot: Fighting for her life. Yeah.
[36:33] Elliot: And then there's that one little shot with Joe. You can really see him. And I'm like, yes, Joe is still here. I love it.
[36:39] Allison Dodge: Yes, it's like it's like I take almost like pity on them and like performances like this because they're like, they're like, we're in this episode. Let's make a great case for us to continue to be in more episodes. Yeah, let's be really make really loud choices. That unfortunately don't pay off.
[36:58] Elliot: Didn't get them anywhere. Um, I don't know if I have much more to say about shout.
[37:04] Andrew: I'm just looking at the chat and I love what they're saying. Lauren says love that tarantula. And Tyler Yeah, that was the shot I was referencing the take it easy shot.
[37:16] Allison Dodge: Oh, I don't know the take it easy shot. I'll have to go back in the library.
[37:20] Elliot: Yeah. Oh, the one where he's like really right in the view of the camera. That is good.
[37:27] Elliot: Um, I know my vote.
[37:31] Andrew: Okay, I think I can you hear me? It's the next round, baby. I'm calling for you.
[37:37] Allison Dodge: So the jokes are actually coming before. I'm giving you the joke. I could not not say that. I needed to say it now and get it out of my brain.
[37:46] Andrew: Okay, so that's an official vote for pop up. Yep. Elliot, are you shouting or are you hearing?
[37:54] Elliot: I am going to put you in the hot seat because I am shouting because Papa and Papa enrages me when she's in the hospital room singing that song. It enrages me.
[38:05] Andrew: At least it makes you feel something. Show it makes me feel nothing.
[38:11] Elliot: I Oh my god, this is actually like really? No, don't do this. I actually don't know if my brain can handle this today.
[38:21] Andrew: Edwardo sent three dots, which can only mean Eduardo is big time mad again.
[38:26] Allison Dodge: Eduardo doesn't like me. It's fine. I can handle it.
[38:30] Andrew: Eduardo, what are you voting for? You're voting for, oh, I don't even, you're voting for Papa.
[38:38] Allison Dodge: More people want Papa.
[38:40] Andrew: The People Want Papa.
[38:42] Allison Dodge: Thank you, Tyler.
[38:44] Andrew: I appreciate Tyler's support.
[38:47] Allison Dodge: Shout is not fun. The opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is disinterest.
[38:56] Andrew: And guess what? I feel disinterest when I watch Shout. At least if you hate something, you really care about it.
[39:02] Allison Dodge: Here's my thing. I'm voting for Shout. Everyone is mad at me.
[39:06] Andrew: I'm logging off.
[39:07] Allison Dodge: Everyone's mad at me. And I'm voting for Shout.
[39:12] Andrew: Okay. Oh my God. It's going. Okay. Enough. Enough.
[39:17] Allison Dodge: I appreciate you, Andrew, and I want to hear your rationale.
[39:21] Andrew: You guys don't understand what that memory of watching Papa Can You Hear Me triggers for me.
[39:29] Allison Dodge: I can't be thinking about being in a Zoom call with Ellie Stroker, clock's ticking, and I'm like, I gotta get out of here.
[39:35] Andrew: I gotta get out of here. I can't watch it again. It's really, really long.
[39:39] Allison Dodge: This one, I'm streaming. I'm talking about the reclaimment of this song.
[39:44] Andrew: Just come on. Please.
[39:47] Allison Dodge: Okay. I appreciate that. I appreciate that.
[39:51] Andrew: Thank you.
[39:53] Allison Dodge: Elliot, this was nothing short of wonderful.
[39:58] Andrew: Entertaining. Interesting. Exciting.
[40:01] Allison Dodge: Maybe this was not a Galactic competition that lived up to your highest hopes and dreams, I imagine.
[40:09] Andrew: I enjoyed myself.
[40:11] Allison Dodge: Okay.
[40:13] Andrew: All right. I'm glad that you were here.
[40:16] Allison Dodge: Because I got to talk to you guys, and I'm like, it's fun because in the backlogs, I'm still in round one.
[40:21] Andrew: So I'm like getting Allison and Andrew every single day of my life, multiple hours a day.
[40:27] Allison Dodge: Here we are. Elliot, you were a light. You were a light in my life.
[40:34] Andrew: Thank you so much for everything, and I'll see you again soon.
[40:39] Allison Dodge: Yeah.
[40:41] Andrew: Bye.
[40:43] Allison Dodge: I feel sick to my stomach. I feel sick.
[40:46] Andrew: Okay. I think we're gonna bring in one more Gleek.
[40:50] Allison Dodge: Okay.
[40:52] Andrew: One more competition. And that, of course, is gonna be Damn Will.
[40:54] Will: Hello. Hello.
[40:57] Andrew: Hey.
[40:59] Will: I'm so excited to Gleckit.
[41:01] Andrew: Hi.
[41:03] Will: Wait, Will, where are you coming in from, if I may ask?
[41:08] Will: I'm in Finland.
[41:10] Andrew: Finland? What time is it there?
[41:12] Will: It's 11 right now. So it's still a good hour.
[41:16] Andrew: 11 a.m.
[41:18] Will: In the evening.
[41:20] Andrew: Oh, in the evening.
[41:21] Will: Okay.
[41:23] Andrew: Oh, hey. Okay. A little late night Gleckiting. I love.
[41:28] Will: Thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much for everything.
[41:33] Andrew: Gleckit Grievances, you know the name of the game. What are you bringing to the table today?
[41:36] Will: All right. I didn't want to rehash all of the round one drama.
[41:46] Will: We've been there, but I had one honorable mention.
[41:49] Will: All that mess.
[41:51] Will: From round one.
[41:53] Will: And that's Far From Over.
[41:55] Will: It was written by all of me.
[41:58] Will: Far From Over, listening to that song with headphones.
[42:04] Andrew: That's a fun one.
[42:06] Will: It's amazing. Yes.
[42:08] Will: And I re-listened to the episode where I got killed.
[42:13] Will: And you both completely roasted the hell out of that song.
[42:17] Will: The hell out of that song.
[42:19] Will: I literally, this entire recording so far has been just opening up emotional wounds for me.
[42:27] Allison Dodge: Because that was the Harper Gray episode, Allison.
[42:30] Allison Dodge: Oh, wow.
[42:32] Will: Truly like episode six. We had no idea what the frick we were doing.
[42:36] Allison Dodge: We didn't know anything.
[42:38] Andrew: Allison, do you even know, not to put you on the spot like this.
[42:43] Andrew: And it's okay. I know the answer.
[42:44] Andrew: As a matter of fact, you don't know what Far From Over is.
[42:48] Allison Dodge: I was just about to ask. No fucking idea what it is.
[42:51] Andrew: Far From Over is Vocal Adrenaline season six.
[42:56] Andrew: Sue comes in and is like, I'm going to whip you guys into shape for sectionals.
[43:01] Andrew: And it's kind of like a workout number.
[43:03] Allison Dodge: Oh, okay. You're jogging my memory. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[43:06] Andrew: And I do really like, it's probably the best of all of Max George's songs.
[43:12] Will: He gets a damn lot.
[43:14] Andrew: But yeah, well, I'm sorry that we didn't give it the day in the sun that it deserves. Do you want to give it your regards right now?
[43:21] Will: It's one of my favorite season six songs.
[43:28] Will: And just wanted to give that a shout out.
[43:32] Will: And then I had, the rest are from round three.
[43:38] Will: One of them is, well, this Bohemian Rhapsody got voted back.
[43:45] Will: So that's all good.
[43:48] Will: But Bohemian Rhapsody is probably my winner of the Glackett.
[43:51] Andrew: Winner of the Glackett?
[43:55] Will: Really?
[43:57] Will: The pairing of the very intense musical number with Queen's Birth.
[44:03] Will: It's like a stroke of genius.
[44:05] Will: I've never seen anything like it.
[44:08] Will: Watching it the first time as a teenager.
[44:12] Will: It was the most intense experience of Magli watching.
[44:16] Andrew: So that's, yeah, that would all mean.
[44:20] Andrew: That's fair.
[44:22] Andrew: I mean, I think at the time it was the best thing ever.
[44:28] Andrew: I think now, I think the competition is just saturated.
[44:33] Andrew: There's so many winners of my Glackett for different reasons.
[44:38] Will: But I could see that going all the way.
[44:42] Will: I mean, I've talked about it before.
[44:44] Will: I'm like, what are we doing?
[44:47] Will: Why don't we just award this to Bohemian Rhapsody now?
[44:49] Andrew: So I was kind of shocked when it died.
[44:52] Will: But now I'm hearing that it's back.
[44:54] Andrew: Revived.
[44:56] Will: Just found out.
[44:58] Andrew: Just found out.
[44:59] Will: Magli is still in the game.
[45:02] Andrew: What else comes to mind, Will?
[45:06] Will: I had one anti-grievance.
[45:09] Will: I agree that Four Minutes should have beaten My Man.
[45:14] Will: Everyone else apparently disagrees.
[45:17] Will: But I think Four Minutes is amazing.
[45:21] Will: And it's worth that.
[45:24] Will: Then I had one from the last episode.
[45:31] Will: And that was Fighter losing to Summer Nights.
[45:37] Andrew: Summer Nights.
[45:39] Will: Summer Nights is...
[45:42] Allison Dodge: It's fine.
[45:46] Allison Dodge: This is Alison finding out why Fighter being taken out by Summer Nights.
[45:51] Allison Dodge: That is insane for you.
[45:53] Allison Dodge: That is so fucked up.
[45:55] Will: That is so fucked up.
[45:57] Will: No, Summer Nights is so cutesy.
[46:00] Will: They're all over the bleachers.
[46:02] Allison Dodge: No, you're not seeing the vision.
[46:04] Will: No, Fighter? In the mirror? Come on.
[46:06] Will: Come on.
[46:12] Andrew: Yeah, the dramatic ending where he's singing.
[46:15] Andrew: Where he's singing in front of the screens.
[46:18] Andrew: It's amazing.
[46:20] Will: So good.
[46:22] Will: We're also thinking about the giant Sam Sadie's heads at the end of Summer Nights.
[46:26] Allison Dodge: No.
[46:28] Allison Dodge: No, Summer Nights.
[46:32] Andrew: Okay, thank you.
[46:34] Andrew: Sam Sadie's is fun.
[46:36] Andrew: I don't think that's the best Sam Sadie's era.
[46:40] Andrew: I think Sam Sadie's in New York.
[46:42] Andrew: I personally like better than them in high school.
[46:45] Andrew: For different reasons.
[46:47] Will: Because I think they're a more interesting couple.
[46:48] Will: Whatever.
[46:50] Will: Why am I even here?
[46:52] Will: I'm going home.
[46:54] Will: I'm logging out.
[46:56] Andrew: Will, what the hell do you want to see today come out of this cup?
[46:59] Will: I would love an underrated one.
[47:02] Will: Give me like a rehab or a little yeah.
[47:06] Andrew: That would be nice.
[47:08] Andrew: Wait, yeah?
[47:10] Will: Earlier.
[47:12] Andrew: Oh, okay.
[47:14] Will: I'm selective hearing.
[47:16] Andrew: We can do yeah!
[47:18] Andrew: Okay, let's see what it is.
[47:23] Andrew: Oh.
[47:25] Andrew: Oh.
[47:27] Will: I know a girl with two thumbs who likes this song.
[47:30] Andrew: It's me, isn't it?
[47:32] Will: It's, yeah.
[47:34] Will: He's right behind me, isn't he?
[47:37] Andrew: Okay, so this is really interesting.
[47:43] Andrew: Because this character has a lot of solos in the series main cast.
[47:48] Andrew: And he only has this one left on the Glacky.
[47:55] Andrew: Oh.
[47:57] Will: So we're going to go over to the performance.
[48:01] Andrew: And it's this.
[48:03] Andrew: And here we go.
[48:05] Will: Taika Waititi has entered the chat.
[48:07] Andrew: That accent you're doing.
[48:11] Will: Oh.
[48:13] Will: Oh my god.
[48:15] Will: Oh my god.
[48:16] Will: Oh my god.
[48:18] Andrew: You guys.
[48:20] Andrew: The song here is Never Going Back Again.
[48:23] Will: I was brought to a different plane of existence.
[48:27] Will: It really, really hits.
[48:30] Andrew: Mom, I really love that so much. Thank you so much for showing that to me.
[48:36] Will: I loved it.
[48:38] Andrew: Oh, thank you.
[48:40] Will: Oh god.
[48:42] Andrew: I'm really scared for her.
[48:43] Will: Don't.
[48:45] Andrew: Oh god.
[48:47] Will: Oh god.
[48:49] Andrew: Oh god.
[48:51] Will: Oh god.
[48:53] Andrew: Do you want to start discourse on this, Allison?
[48:55] Allison Dodge: I will because this is a fucking beautiful, god damn fucking perfect, absolutely gorgeous, amazing.
[49:02] Allison Dodge: Been down one time. Been down two times. Never going back again. Fuck that. Never. I'm over it.
[49:10] Andrew: Exactly. It sounds fucking phenomenal.
[49:14] Allison Dodge: I personally didn't like Bardi as a couple, so I was kind of happy when they ended.
[49:20] Will: Maybe the worst ship name of all time, too.
[49:23] Allison Dodge: Bardi.
[49:26] Andrew: I love this.
[49:29] Will: Everybody in the chat is like, the guitar's incredible.
[49:33] Will: Finn playing the guitar, incredible.
[49:35] Allison Dodge: I love this. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it.
[49:39] Allison Dodge: I prefer it to the original. Sorry. Sorry, Fleetwood Mac.
[49:43] Will: I know that you're listening.
[49:45] Andrew: Oh, y'all are getting mad?
[49:46] Will: Oh, y'all are getting mad?
[49:48] Will: Try being better than Kevin McHale.
[49:50] Andrew: You can't.
[49:51] Will: You can't.
[49:52] Andrew: Yeah.
[49:53] Will: You hear that? Fleetwood.
[49:55] Will: Mr. Mac.
[49:56] Will: Bitch.
[50:02] Andrew: Will, what the hell do you think about this performance?
[50:07] Will: I love this performance.
[50:08] Will: I think one of the best things about the Rumours episode is how well the songs fit into the actual plotline.
[50:15] Will: I think, I mean, he always sounds amazing.
[50:22] Will: The layering of the guitars as they build up, it's really nice.
[50:27] Will: This isn't a number I initially remembered that well, but since everyone's been talking about it so positively, I went back and realized how amazing it was.
[50:41] Will: So, yeah.
[50:42] Andrew: Yeah.
[50:43] Will: I really like it.
[50:44] Will: It's not one of my very top ones.
[50:48] Andrew: Yeah.
[50:49] Will: But it's really gorgeous.
[50:52] Andrew: Underrated.
[50:53] Will: Yeah.
[50:54] Andrew: Yeah.
[50:55] Will: I'm obsessed.
[50:56] Will: I'm really scared for him.
[50:58] Andrew: It's definitely a he-him song, I'll say it.
[51:00] Allison Dodge: Yes.
[51:02] Will: Gendering our songs.
[51:04] Andrew: Gendering our songs, alert.
[51:08] Andrew: Never Going Back Again. Lassertolo. Really, really scared for him. Oh, I wanted to say that, all right, I'll say it. I went to Spelling Bee last week.
[51:16] Allison Dodge: Yeah, you did.
[51:21] Andrew: Yeah, the person that sang this song was like, hey, you're gonna want to go on Wednesday. You're gonna want to go on Wednesday because the celebrity guest speller you might care about, he said. It's not Leah.
[51:35] Allison Dodge: And I was like, okay. But he said, it is a vocalist. I said, it's Jayma Mays.
[51:43] Andrew: And I did show up. Allison, you were the one that put into my head. I was like, you were the person that said, it could be Amber.
[51:50] Allison Dodge: Because immediately I was like, oh, it's Alex Newell, Alex Newell, New York City resident.
[51:55] Andrew: So I'm like, okay, it's just, it's, you know, you had to do it to him. Finally time. Um, but then like my, I, you gave me some of your big brain. And so I had a bigger brain as a result. And I was like, I think it could be Amber Riley. I went in there de lulu as hell, thinking, yes, it's Amber Riley. And it was.
[52:18] Allison Dodge: And she is going to when she gets eliminated from the Spelling Bee, she was going to sing and I'm telling you, I'm not going as like, she's like, I'm not leaving the Spelling Bee, of course. And I'm like, okay, that's obviously what they're going to do. They're going to insert the song into the musical, which is like, not not what they're gonna do. But Ian and Claudia and Ian was like, I will, I am for certain telling you what they're not going to do. And it's that. And they did not do that. But her word was invincible, which I thought was very, very fun. Because like, and then she was like, Can I use it? Can you use it in a sentence? And they were like, Amber Riley has won Dancing with the Stars, Jeopardy, Masked Singer, and she is invincible. And yeah, I just thought it was very cutesy. When we walked into the theater, Ian, Claudia and I, I saw her. I've never seen her live before. And I was just like, Oh, God. Oh, fuck. That's Amber Riley.
[53:20] Andrew: She's there. It's Mother's Day. But yeah, anyway, that's my Spelling Bee story. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
[53:35] Allison Dodge: I love that. I'm so happy that I was right.
[53:39] Andrew: Yeah, it would have been fun if it was Alex Newell too, but Amber Riley.
[53:45] Allison Dodge: Hell to the no.
[53:49] Andrew: Anything else we need to say about this song? Before we see what the last song is?
[53:55] Allison Dodge: I love this song, and I'm scared for it and also for the thing that's against it.
[53:59] Andrew: Good. You're being kind of like diplomatic, like, I'm not. I'm Switzerland. I'm not choosing a side. I'm apolitical. I'm so excited to have my first competition.
[54:08] Allison Dodge: Oh, so this is like, this episode is like really weird recording. What are we doing with these songs?
[54:21] Andrew: Just like we're kind of... Will is very excited. We're just doing anything. And this is also the last solo by this character on the Glackett, and it doesn't mean as much because this is their only solo in the series.
[54:36] Allison Dodge: Oh.
[54:37] Andrew: So you already know what damn this song...
[54:41] Allison Dodge: I Know What Boys Like?
[54:43] Andrew: It is I Know What Boys Like.
[54:45] Allison Dodge: Oh, wow!
[54:47] Andrew: Oh, wow!
[54:50] Allison Dodge: I stream. I stream once a week.
[54:56] Andrew: As you should.
[54:56] Allison Dodge: I'm like, I need to get this in. My weekly dose.
[55:01] Andrew: My weekly dose of I Know What Boys Like. Will, what are your immediate thoughts on I Know What Boys Like?
[55:06] Will: Gleecast version by the Gleecast. I love this one. Immediately when it starts and she says two, three, four, and then the song just starts in a completely different tempo.
[55:20] Andrew: It's different, yeah.
[55:22] Will: Her acting in the beginning, when she just acts being insecure so well, and then immediately after she matches everyone in their pajamas.
[55:37] Andrew: Yeah.
[55:38] Will: Yeah, flipping. Really incredible.
[55:42] Andrew: Yeah, I love it. Allison, what do you think about I Know What Boys Like?
[55:49] Allison Dodge: This is, and somebody fact check me, this is the same musical artist of the original song as Christmas Rapping.
[56:00] Andrew: I can fact check you. I can fact check you.
[56:01] Allison Dodge: Waitresses? Waitresses?
[56:02] Andrew: Yes!
[56:03] Allison Dodge: So fun. I think it's so campy and very, oh, just like epitome of that character, of Zycee's character, and very fun and a little bit like sensitive.
[56:22] Andrew: Yeah.
[56:23] Allison Dodge: And I really love it. Now, the competition being the final Artolo in the Glackett versus the one and only Zycee's Zolo.
[56:34] Andrew: Zyzolo.
[56:36] Allison Dodge: Zyzolo is gonna be the toughest call because, I mean, there's only one Zyzolo and there's multiple Artolos, but none of them are remaining.
[56:50] Andrew: Hey.
[56:51] Allison Dodge: I know where my vote's going, but it is a complicated vote, and I just think we need to consider that. And, yeah.
[56:59] Andrew: We just need to consider that. I do want to say that, like, I Know What Boys Like and Lauren Zycee's, like, kind of, like, as a character to me. I just, I really, really love her so much. And I think that, like, characters like her and characters like Sugarmatta, like, kind of, like, encapsulate what the show is all about. Like, it kind of fills out the world in a way that it's like, okay, yes, we're mostly looking at, like, these core characters, but, like, these characters as well on the side are doing their own thing as well. And I remember, like, specifically what comes to mind is, like, Ryan Murphy in an interview once, like, talking about, like, writing for these characters, specifically Glee characters, that he's like, uh, if I'm writing a new student at the school, like, I want to know what the Funko Pop would look like.
That he was like, um, like, it just, like, needs to be very clear who the character is. And I'm like, Lauren Zycee's obviously doesn't have a Funko Pop, but I'm like, you can envision it in your head immediately what it would look like. The same goes for Sugar, and the same goes for most all the characters, which I think it's just like, I don't know, all the characters are, like, so loud and specific, and they're all, like, kind of, like, in their own lane. That it's just, like, it's always very, very fun. I don't know. I just, I just, the creation of this character, woo, we needed more of this lady. Ashley Fank, love you so much. My birthday twin. And yeah, I'll kiss her on the lips. If she wants, only if she wants. And that's the, that's the end of my thoughts on the song. Does anybody need to say anything else? Oh, I feel sick. I feel really, really. Is this really that hard for you?
[58:48] Allison Dodge: No, because I don't know if it's gonna go my way. I think it's really tough. It's really tough when Cysis is the only, this is her only feature in the Galactic.
[59:02] Andrew: Okay, all right. Eduardo, yeah. Eduardo is completely correct. I feel gaslit right now. I will do the first vote for Never Going Back Again, obviously.
[59:08] Allison Dodge: Okay, I'm also voting for that.
[59:19] Andrew: Oh, okay. Well, it's already going through Never Going Back Again, but what are you voting for?
[59:23] Will: Yeah, I would have loved to fight for Cysis, but in this case, I do think Never Going Back Again is a better song. So I will be voting for that one as well.
[59:30] Andrew: Okay. Hey.
[59:40] Allison Dodge: Artolo's live to see another day. Thank fucking God. Dear God. Well, this has been stupendous chatting with you. Thank you so much for staying up a little bit late to Galactic with us. Thank you for all the things. And we'll see you again sometime.
[59:59] Andrew: We'll see you again. Thank you so much for having me. Bye-bye. See ya.
[1:00:06] Andrew: Okay, so in recap of this episode, what even damn happened? I already gave you some jokes. We already have some jokes written. Let's see. Papa, can you hear me? I got the answer. No.
[1:00:23] Allison Dodge: People are gonna be really mad at me for this, actually.
[1:00:27] Andrew: This is gonna be you see this girl right here? Yeah. People are gonna be mad, mad, mad about what I did. And I feel like I'm like Loki in like a dream state right now. So nothing feels real. It won't hit you later.
[1:00:40] Allison Dodge: Okay, Elliot is not mad. Shout was louder. And he is saying, of course, shout was louder. And I'll defend you. I'll defend you.
[1:00:57] Andrew: I mean, I go ahead. I think that what you said makes sense. I don't I don't agree with you. But you know what? I did it a little bit. You kind of slayed so. Hey, um, yeah, and I can't hear. I can't. Papa can't hear you over all this damn shouting. There it is. Never going back again. You're never going back to round three again because you're going right to round four. Yeah, baby big kiss. And I know what boys like. Losing.
[1:01:35] Allison Dodge: They like hell. They like being in hell. Um, okay, so this has been another episode of this. Thank you so much for the Allison, thank you so much for joining for this month.
[1:01:51] Andrew: Anytime, please. I love this damn podcast. Very fun. We're gonna find we're gonna find the best song on Glee. Can you tell me how much how many songs are left in that cup? There's probably like 10. I have like the official number in a document. Yeah.
[1:02:13] Allison Dodge: Um, uh, okay, so a couple of episodes left of round. We're getting real close. And I want to do something really fun for our round three finale. I know, and you're almost at birthday. And almost at birthday time, end of the month. Um, so yeah, can you just like if you're listening to this part of the episode, I know that you probably already damn turned it off. But if you're listening to this still, I want you to flood Lea Michele's fucking comment and say, baby girl, um, you need to you need to participate in the glock. It's more important than your children. It's more important than chess. It's more important than I don't know, like slaying and posting those selfies. You know, you know, the selfies that you post? Yeah, full glam. Everyone knows the selfies she posts.
[1:03:07] Andrew: She looks so good. Um, anyway, this was this is perfect. Allison, do you want to you want to say anything to the Glee?
[1:03:17] Allison Dodge: Um, no, because usually if I was asked that question, I would just plug this podcast. But clearly, they're already listening to this podcast. But we're gonna be on an episode of Skip or Scream tomorrow.
[1:03:27] Andrew: Oh my god, we're recording tomorrow. Skip or Scream.
[1:03:30] Allison Dodge: Yeah. So go follow Skip or Scream. If you like horror movies, even if you don't like horror movies, just give them a follow because they're big and cute. And yeah, I love them. And we're gonna be on an episode tomorrow.
[1:03:43] Andrew: And we'll post about it. All right. Until next time. Okay, bye.
[1:03:51] Andrew: It's Gleek. Gleek of the Week.
