[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.
[0:09] Andrew: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.
[0:18] Andrew: Glacket by Glacket, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.
[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week. It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
[0:34] Andrew: How do I want to start this episode? Well, um, I'm really, I'm, I'm really, really scared about this week's episode. I'm hoping that by saying that I'm scared that like maybe, maybe just by chance, we'll have a really easy time and there will be no hard feelings with any of the people involved in this episode or any of the millions of people that listen to it afterward. So with that being said, I'm joined by two peak Gleeks, past Gleeks, Pleeks, if you will, starting with the one that starts with P. Patrick, Patrick, how are you?
[1:08] Patrick: Pleek, pleek! I'm so good. I feel like there's been a lot of kind of crazy competitions the past few weeks, that I have a few things to say about, but the three of us, the third person being unknown and unnamed.
[1:34] Andrew: It's Robert Ullrich again.
[1:34] Patrick: It's Robert Ullrich again. Best bit of all time, but I, I really am scared as well. So scared in fact, that I didn't even look at the remaining songs because I don't, I don't want to even imagine what combinations are in store for us. So yeah, I, I am also very, very scared. But every time I come on, I say that I want to fight. I say I want hard ones. So I guess I'm open. I'm open to it. So we'll see what we get.
[2:07] Andrew: You're open to fighting, but you're not really pushing that narrative.
[2:10] Patrick: No, I want to fight, but I'm open to there being hard competitions.
[2:18] Andrew: Oh, okay. Right. Like you kind of can't have them both, but you still can. I don't know. And just, just set the stage a little bit. We are recording this on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as well as Inauguration Day. So vibes are already really weird. So let that be known. Our other Gleek is Robert Ullrich.
[2:40] Robert Ullrich: Hi, Robert. How are you?
[2:40] Robert Ullrich: Oh no, don't ask me to act. I enjoy listening to the bits. I'm not that good at partaking in them.
[2:45] Andrew: Wait, then if you're not Robert, who are you?
[2:52] Robert Ullrich: Wait, what? I can pretend to be Connor. I can pretend to be.
[2:58] Andrew: Wait, I want to hear your Connor impression.
[3:03] Robert Ullrich: Well, no, I didn't say I have the voice, but I guess pretend. But then I would need like a lot more knowledge about the show than I already have.
[3:12] Patrick: Wait, what is your Connor impression?
[3:21] Robert Ullrich: He just has like a deep voice. He was like,
[3:24] Andrew: That's a word. I feel like Connor's in the room with us.
[3:30] Robert Ullrich: Well, you know, you tried to get our third guest to, or a third person in the room to act. And then when I was told to act on the spot, I fell under the pressure. So I understand now.
[3:38] Robert Ullrich: Meanwhile, people still don't know who I am. My name hasn't been said.
[3:43] Andrew: Yeah. Again, who are you?
[3:46] Robert Ullrich: Let's just not say it throughout. And don't even put it in the episode description.
[3:50] Patrick: Okay. So it's just with, no, no. Pat in mystery.
[3:57] Robert Ullrich: Okay. No, it's Matt.
[4:04] Patrick: Cat's out of the bag. We're not fucking around anymore. It's Patrick and Mattrick.
[4:08] Andrew: We really can't fuck around anymore because we have a really important job to do today. And I think we all know based on the vibes of today, the vibes of some of the past episodes, I don't think we can goof around. I think we need to be really serious about this.
[4:19] Patrick: You know, when the message first came around from Andrew, you know, want to glack it. And of course, like, you know, your heart just soars because the invitation to glack it is just like, you know, being accepted into heaven. But I'm scared. After hearing the most recent episode before this one, I'm a lot less scared. I'm a lot less scared.
[4:37] Andrew: Oh, you're a lot less scared?
[4:38] Patrick: Wait. Yes. I know. I know.
[4:40] Andrew: Contextually last week for anybody that doesn't recall, there was one competition in the middle that was spooky scary, which was the boys' mind losing to I Feel Pretty, I'm Pretty.
[4:51] Patrick: I will check your gauge on that later on. We'll get into it later. But the other two competitions were Look at Me, I'm Centrity losing to Yeah, the reprised version of Look at Me, I'm Centrity.
[5:03] Andrew: And then also what was the other?
[5:05] Patrick: Mercy, Welcome Christmas.
[5:07] Andrew: Mercy, Welcome Christmas, which spooky like those are four songs that.
[5:12] Patrick: So the question is, why am I less scared? Because four songs went out that all could have lost. And you know, there's still bangers in there that they could have gotten these layups.
[5:23] Patrick: I think I realized that my bigger fear than like a tough matchup would be getting those matchups.
[5:30] Robert Ullrich: Or advancing Yeah times three or Mercy to the next round. Those are more spooky scary to me than what I imagine may happen today.
[5:42] Patrick: But I mean, like a few episodes ago, we had like Battle of the Rolos, which was genuinely crazy. Like I, my mouth was like a gape when it's all coming back to me now was pulled. So it's kind of like you want a Matt, I agree with what you said before, like, it's so exciting when we're asked to be on the podcast. Andrew, thank you so much for having us. But like, you listen to other people's edit.
[6:08] Robert Ullrich: Yeah, I'm so scared.
[6:15] Patrick: You listen to some of the episodes and you're like, Oh my gosh, like, that's such a good competition. That's so fun to talk about. Because like, when you pull two snoozers in a row, it's fun, because we're all friends and we can, you know, shoot the shit. But when it's like two really good ones, you want to have a conversation, but it's scary. And it's a lot of pressure. But I do have to say, I disagreed with every single decision in the last episode.
[6:35] Andrew: Oh, every single decision, I guess, Patrick, you're taking the reins of grievances, I suppose.
[6:42] Patrick: Before Patrick does that, I want to touch on the Rolos.
[6:48] Andrew: Go ahead.
[6:48] Patrick: Yes. Real, real quick. I just need to let you both know that I lived in a world where it's all coming back to me now won for a full week. I was under the impression that it won. Andrew, I've texted you before about this, that like, sometimes when I get to the end, I'm like, wait, which one? You know, and I think Patrick said the same thing too.
[7:08] Andrew: Yeah. Sometimes you're just like, you know, a little mindless. And even at the end, when we get the full recap of everything that happened, it's just like, hard to lock in, lock in. So I truly, it was until the episode after that, that I heard that Don't Rain On My Parade actually went through. And it was just, it was crazy how much it shifted my entire world.
[7:28] Patrick: Sounds like a world I want to live in. I would have rather lived in that world too.
[7:34] Andrew: See, that's okay. We have so much to talk about. There's so much like glack that happened in like the past few weeks that needs to be unpacked.
[7:41] Patrick: There's so much glack that happened.
[7:43] Andrew: There's a lot.
[7:43] Patrick: I'm not saying I want to start with grievances. I was just trying to make the point.
[7:47] Andrew: Wait, sorry to pause your grievances once more, Patrick, but I was curious because I wanted to, like, because last I checked, no, this is really interesting.
[8:00] Patrick: Um, not to say that what you're about to say wasn't interesting.
[8:06] Andrew: Um, but I, it might be.
[8:06] Patrick: Um, okay. So on the poll yesterday, which included, um, it's all coming back to me now versus Jerome, the Instagram story, it was literally right down the middle, 50, 50, 537 votes for each song, which I do think is crazy.
[8:25] Patrick: I voted for the end and yeah, I saw that for sure. And that was really interesting.
[8:30] Andrew: I actually think that you should just talk the entire time.
[8:34] Patrick: Oh, I do think it would be a really good day if we just didn't let Pat get to his grievances.
[8:40] Andrew: I think I shouldn't be able to talk about Rolos.
[8:46] Patrick: No, um, that is a really good point because yeah, like I, one of the points I wanted to bring up is, um, just like that episode was Ian and Claudia and Claudia voted for, it's all coming back to me now, if I recall correctly. And so then I was thinking like, like she and I were on a episode a few weeks ago or whatever. And I was thinking like, had that been pulled when I was there, like I would have voted for it's all coming back to me now. And Matt is nodding in agreement. He also probably would have voted for that.
[9:14] Andrew: So it's just like, it is kind of scary because I think sometimes, and maybe we were getting into the habit of like, oh yeah, like a lot of these are so obvious, blah, blah, blah. But like, when we pull really heavy hitters and put them against each other, I feel like it matters kind of who, who you have on that week. It always has, but especially when some of like the bigger songs come through, it's harder to like predict.
[9:30] Patrick: Cause I think a lot of people are in the camp of like, oh, of course Dromp should go through, but then obviously 50% of the people are secretly like would have voted for it's all coming back to me now. And that's a secret now. I have the names.
[9:52] Patrick: I feel so good that like, I got to get that off my chest that I would have voted for it's all coming back to me now. Claudia, I hear you. I see you. And you know what it also was? It wasn't just the fact that it's all coming back to me now. One, I was like, Santana's Dromp beat Rachel's Dromp. And like, I don't know if that's really what should have happened, but I was there and let me tell you, it was a great, great time.
[10:22] Andrew: Wow. I want to say about the it's all coming back to me now versus Rachel's Dromp is that I don't have either of you seen the movie, The Brutalist, this new Adrienne Brady movie.
[10:30] Patrick: No, I know it's new.
[10:34] Andrew: No, sorry.
[10:34] Patrick: Okay. Yeah. It's like, it's four hours long within an intermission that you can walk around your cineplex. So you're saying I could watch a four hour movie or I could stream five to six episodes of Glee.
[10:45] Andrew: Right. And there are your options. And here's the Glee tie-in is at the end of the movie, this may be a spoiler, but also like not because it's The Brutalist and it's like not a spoiler movie. At the end of the movie, Adrienne Brady's character's life is looked back on and his niece is giving this nice message about his entire life. And she's saying that it's about the destination and not the journey, which I think was intended to piss me off because it did.
[11:21] Andrew: And I think that it was like, okay, I disagree with that sentiment in almost every regard. That is a crazy sentiment to say that the destination is worth so much more than the journey. And I relate this back to Rachel's Drumpf versus It's All Coming Back to Me Now, because I feel like that's what we're looking at here. We're looking at the journey versus the destination. And I think always the journey is so much more effective.
[11:44] Patrick: Because also, and put it into further Glackett terms, that it's like, if I'm putting the winner of the Glackett as like, oh my God, that is so much more important than all the friends that we made along the way, then what the fuck is that about?
[12:01] Andrew: Is It's All Coming Back to Me Now the actual destination or is it just because it feels like an actual ending point?
[12:07] Patrick: It is the destination because that's a final high school career rollo.
[12:16] Andrew: I would say this time is the destination.
[12:19] Patrick: Oh, and so I feel like that further proves my point.
[12:22] Andrew: Whoa, that was scary. I almost threw up.
[12:25] Patrick: This time mention, uh-oh.
[12:27] Andrew: I mean, nominated song by Darren Criss that didn't need to be Emmy nominated this time.
[12:35] Patrick: Did he really get Emmy nominated for that?
[12:37] Andrew: Yeah, yeah.
[12:38] Patrick: Wow.
[12:39] Andrew: We don't need that. But okay, I hear what you're saying, Andrew. And I get talking about it as in the destination is the end of your high school career, solo, whatever. But I want to relate what you said to the Glackett in that like the friends along the way are all of the competitions that we fight so hard over, knowing that they're not really going to like win the Glackett.
[13:04] Patrick: And the destination is the end of the Glackett. But what's interesting to me is that like, even though I think I would vote for, or I know I would have voted for It's All Coming Back to Me Now over Rachel's Drumpf, I feel like Rachel's Drumpf is going to go really, really far and like would have gone farther than It's All Coming Back to Me Now. It's just that like, because those two were paired together, it kind of like made us really think like, what is the more powerful, impactful, like Rolo?
[13:42] Patrick: Like, I feel like on its own, Drump could beat more things than It's All Coming Back to Me Now and Drump won. But honestly, like, you know that Scream Queens promo thing where Ariana Grande is like, I want to see what you said written on paper to Abigail Breslin. I was like talking and I was like having an out of body experience. I'm like, what am I talking about? Oh no.
[14:07] Andrew: You're making me make a carousel thing that I don't think I'm equipped to make.
[14:13] Matt: Were you guys Stream Queens people?
[14:15] Pat: Oh, I was.
[14:16] Matt: I loved the first season, and then the second season, I watched three or four episodes, and I was like, I can't do this.
[14:23] Pat: Oh no, I watched the entire thing.
[14:24] Matt: Yeah.
[14:25] Pat: It's unfortunate. RIP Kirstie Alley, but it was not good.
[14:31] Andrew: Yeah. Wait, what did I want to say? Oh, Patrick, I wanted to ask you, or I guess both of you, how often when you're listening, do you ever, also, do you listen to the songs in the episode? It's okay if you skip through, because I don't listen while editing, obviously.
[14:46] Matt: The songs are my favorite part of the episode. I always listen to the songs.
[14:48] Pat: When I re-listen to an episode, I'll maybe sometimes skip through the songs.
[14:58] Matt: Yes, that's right. I have streamed most episodes multiple times of Gleek of the Week Pod.
[15:02] Andrew: I caught that.
[15:04] Matt: I mean, I just like to sing, and I can't sing along to what you're saying, Andrew.
[15:09] Pat: You don't have the lyrics to the conversation.
[15:10] Matt: I don't. Wait, because what I wanted to say about that was, I think that the MP4, I guess the MP4, or both Rolos here, really do a lot, particularly for drum.
[15:23] Andrew: I think that the marching my band out is so effective, and that obviously doesn't come across in the MP3. That's what I want to say.
[15:31] Pat: That totally makes sense. I think that, I don't know if this has ever been talked about on the podcast, and I feel like it's a very universal Glee experience. Maybe it probably has. The Glee account on YouTube would post videos and then take them down.
[15:43] Andrew: Wait, like—
[15:52] Pat: Like, they'd post videos of the recent performances from recent episodes, but they'd only leave them up for a certain amount of time. If you go on the Glee account right now, I don't know if you could find, it's all coming back to me. I don't think that the Glee account is even still active on YouTube.
[16:08] Matt: Well, but do you know what I was talking about, when we were actually watching the show live? You could watch the performances on YouTube, but then—
[16:15] Pat: Andrew, I was the first comment on Flashdance What a Feeling YouTube.
[16:18] Matt: Wait, oh my God, you knew that girl?
[16:20] Pat: Yeah, that was special.
[16:21] Matt: Yeah, it was special for me.
[16:23] Andrew: They'd take it down. But I remember at the end of season three, that was like the summer before college, and I had nothing to do and was like, whatever, blah, blah, blah. I watched the back half of season three, every YouTube video, recording every single day. And I was like, emo, because I was like, I'm graduating high school, and so is the Glee Club, and blah, blah, blah. And so for some reason, I think anything in the back half of season three, I have consumed those specific performances more than any other person. They're carrying a lot of weight.
[17:00] Matt: Of the whatever.
[17:01] Andrew: So what I'm trying to say is, I don't need to watch the MP4. I've watched the tapes. They're downloaded. I think I know more about Glee than you do, genius.
[17:13] Pat: Just kidding, I definitely don't.
[17:15] Andrew: I mean—
[17:15] Pat: No, no, no, it's okay. You can take that.
[17:17] Andrew: No, no, no, I don't want it, I don't want it, I don't want it.
[17:20] Matt: There is a difference, and it's all coming back to me now, MP3, MP4. It's significant, because the whole song is on the MP3.
[17:29] Andrew: And the MP4, I feel like it cuts off at a time where I'm just wanting more every time, and I forget that it's as short as it is.
[17:37] Pat: Interesting. Because, I mean, it's before Paradise. You got to leave time for Paradise, right?
[17:44] Andrew: And we have to talk about that one later, too. We have a lot to cover.
[17:47] Matt: We have a lot to cover.
[17:48] Andrew: And you know what? I was thinking maybe we can have a short recording, because you guys actually don't like to talk usually, but it sounds like maybe you do.
[17:55] Pat: I famously hate talking.
[17:59] Andrew: Wait, the Paradise sidebar is crazy, because famously, Edge of Glory didn't make it out of round one. And then Paradise by The Dashboard Light is back in round three on like a—
[18:13] Matt: Technicality.
[18:15] Andrew: Technicality. And it's all coming back to me now. I think it could have more weight behind it than The Boy Is Mine.
[18:23] Pat: What do the Gleeks have against season three nationals? I need to know.
[18:27] Andrew: The Gleeks being me. Just call me up by name.
[18:31] Matt: Okay. Andrew, I feel like until like two months ago, I like never disagreed with any of your decisions.
[18:41] Andrew: Oh, and then something happened.
[18:43] Matt: Something snapped.
[18:44] Andrew: I think you've just been Gleeking too hard that you forgot how to Gleek.
[18:48] Pat: That's very possible.
[18:50] Andrew: I've lost myself in the sauce, yeah. I'm listening to the words coming out of your mouth, and I'm like, who is this? Who is this? This is not the person I am. I miss my friend.
[19:00] Matt: Oh.
[19:02] Andrew: Wait, so do we want to get into grievances proper?
[19:04] Pat: Yeah, but really, really quick. I'm so sorry. I have to address Matt directly. Matt, I love that you're a Survivor Stan, and you even make content around it and other reality TV. I want to say that I loved the episode with the two people from Survivor. I had so much fun listening to that. And pretty much everyone I feel like who comes on the show regularly is obsessed with Survivor. I know Ian is. It comes up a lot. And then every time that comes up, I feel like, Andrew, you haven't gotten into Survivor yet. So I wanted to ask you, Andrew, do you have any plans to dive into Survivor lore, or is it too much?
[19:49] Andrew: So this season, I watched—
[19:53] Pat: I like how that was advertised as a question for Matt.
[19:55] Andrew: I know, I was like, oh, maybe I should just tune out for a second. Well, no, no. But then Matt, we have to talk two or three minutes. Mom, can I have five minutes to talk to Matt?
[20:07] Matt: Survivor?
[20:07] Andrew: I'm on Survivor. I don't want to talk about me anymore. I feel like we could answer the question for Andrew. He's not going to watch Survivor.
[20:12] Matt: Yeah, he's not. He hasn't even sniffed Drag Race.
[20:15] Pat: Like, he has no interest in reality television.
[20:19] Andrew: Okay. I've snuffed it. I have sniffed.
[20:21] Pat: You've snuffed it.
[20:22] Andrew: Like, I've watched a few episodes of Drag Race, and there are a few, I guess, performances on YouTube from Drag Race that tickle me. But I think that reality TV show, it's just like, I'm almost afraid to get into reality TV, because there's something so addicting.
[20:43] Matt: You have spent hours talking about The Glee Project.
[20:48] Andrew: Sure. Yeah, that's different as it relates to the hip hop show.
[20:52] Pat: In the sense that, that's fair, Andrew. Because I, like, Survivor was my COVID show. Like, that's when I started watching. And I still haven't seen every season, but I watched probably like 85% of them.
[21:06] Matt: Andrew, I just have to ask, because the people who do like Survivor, I think, want to know, on your episode with Ian, you said that you've hung out with Parvati. And just tell me about that.
[21:19] Matt: I heard that, and I was like, out of breath.
[21:23] Andrew: We're going on a decade since that happened. And also, for those Survivor people, let us know if you're watching Donde, Deal or No Deal Island, that's currently happening right now, featuring Parvati Shallow.
[21:36] Matt: Yeah, it was like 10 years ago. And it was just that, like, the same kind of events that I still go to today, which are centered around another podcast that I am regularly on, Rob is a Podcast. So back in the early days of those events, a lot more of like the local New York City Survivors would go to these events because they were often in New York, and Parvati lived in New York at the time. So she went there once or twice. And me and another friend, just, you know, these young 21-year-old, if that, Survivor fans that were just yap, yap, yapping away in all of our favorite people's ears about how much we were big fans. And you take pictures, and then you just feel like you can, you know, take up all their time all night and spend time with them.
[22:17] Pat: Do you have a picture with her?
[22:19] Matt: Yeah.
[22:19] Pat: Oh my God. Are you going to, like, I already have, like—
[22:22] Matt: Is it part of the carousel?
[22:23] Pat: ...thought about pre-ordering her—
[22:24] Matt: I don't think so.
[22:25] Pat: Okay, that's fair. I'm just really excited about that. And Matt, maybe, we've not really talked much before, but if we survive today, as in, like, we don't get into a big fight, or if we, the three of us even survive the Glackett.
[22:40] Matt: Even if we do.
[22:41] Andrew: I am going to require additional details and DMs about that, because that's, like, super exciting to me. I love her.
[22:50] Matt: The worst part about it was that after, like, that day, she followed me on Twitter. And then at some point along the way, she deleted her Twitter.
[22:58] Andrew: Oh.
[22:59] Matt: So, you know, when you, like, lose a follow, you are so happy to have that kind of thing. It was sad.
[23:04] Andrew: Okay, well, so we kind of hate her now. Got it.
[23:07] Matt: Got it. The destination is more important than the journey.
[23:10] Andrew: Oh my God. Oh, there it is. AudioMedium, we're looking at the picture.
[23:13] Pat: Oh, that is amazing. Okay, so anyway...
[23:15] Matt: I am baby. This was taken on October 1st, 2014.
[23:20] Andrew: Oh. Okay. Thank you for indulging me, Matt and Andrew. I'm a huge fan. We love taking listener questions. Should we talk about Glee?
[23:31] Pat: Do you remember about, like, an hour ago when you said you disagreed with every match-up in the last episode?
[23:38] Andrew: Yeah, I'll talk about that really quickly. Basically, like, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just yeah.
[23:45] Matt: Whatever. Can we stop?
[23:50] Andrew: That song was pulled and Andrew's like...
[23:54] Matt: I just knew Andrew's gonna be like, oh, she's so beautiful to me. I love her.
[23:56] Andrew: We're done. Okay, like, I...
[24:02] Pat: I'm so angry still because I fought... Gleeks, I fought for...
[24:09] Matt: Um, what's that fucking song of the train?
[24:12] Andrew: The Rhythm for Wrenches?
[24:14] Matt: I fought for that to win over Rehab. Because Rehab, it doesn't even feature any character that's in Glee.
[24:22] Andrew: No, it's like, I do think some of those need to go.
[24:25] Pat: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's the same with Mercy.
[24:28] Andrew: Can I say something?
[24:29] Matt: No, can we stop?
[24:34] Andrew: Why are all three of those songs going through?
[24:37] Pat: You know, I was so upset about some of those songs going through, so I'm with you on this line of thought.
[24:43] Andrew: That it made me look back on season one and really just reflect again at some songs that we don't have anymore. And I don't need to give you my whole list, but I did make one. I'm just like, yeah, okay, so yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[24:57] Matt: And Rehab is going through, is that what you said? And Mercy are all going to see round three.
[25:02] Andrew: All three are in round three, which like, why? Endless Love is seeing round three, and I will come down hard.
[25:07] Pat: Wait, Endless Love was against, like, Thousand Miles or something, wasn't it?
[25:10] Andrew: Yeah, well, I'll double check that if you'd like. But, um, okay, and that's not a good defense.
[25:17] Matt: No, it's just like, I'm just saying, guys, I think that we're being too critical. It was against Mary's little boy child, actually.
[25:26] Andrew: Endless Love was against Mary's little boy child, and if that's not campy enough for you, I don't know what to tell you.
[25:32] Pat: Huh, I don't know how that, I feel like I voted. I feel like I always say this. I feel like I voted for Mary's little boy child.
[25:41] Andrew: It's my favorite part of every episode besides the songs. The second favorite part is when you ask for grievances and you're like, hey, guest, would you like to tell me things you're upset about? And then when they tell you things they're upset about, you say, that's not my fault, you're barking up the wrong tree.
[25:55] Matt: Well, then why did you ask that?
[26:00] Andrew: So I think me and Nat seem to be on the same page where it's like, these songs are not beautiful to us. And I hope that in round three, they all die, because none of them should have gotten past round one.
[26:14] Pat: Can I, I know that I already asked if I could say something and I was shut down. I'm just going to say it then.
[26:19] Andrew: I'll say yes.
[26:20] Pat: So in the last episode, in like, Gleeks, Glatrons, Glisteners, you know how much I freaking love you, down. There was something in the water that I'm like, did the Gleeks that were there that voted through Yeah and Mercy, I need, because that was a week ago, eight days ago, actually, eight days ago now. Like considering that competition in the way that you voted, because that was 100% voting in the direction that it won. Do you still stand by that? Because I'm like, I voted for Yeah and Mercy being like, that's caution to the wind, because I like both of those songs. I didn't expect 100% of the votes. Do y'all stand by that still? Because that was crazy that that was 100%.
[27:05] Matt: You act like they were up against Drumpf.
[27:09] Andrew: Yeah, that's a good point.
[27:11] Pat: Like, those competitions like weren't that like, oh my gosh, like crazy hard. Like, to me, they were kind of throwaways.
[27:21] Andrew: Like, it doesn't like matter that much. But it's just like the principle and then to like hear the songs of like, those songs have beat. Also, Sandra J reprise is beautiful. I just I have I have a lot of love in my heart for Melissa. And I think that she Marley doesn't have a ton of representation around three, does she?
[27:41] Matt: She okay, is chasing pavements in New York state of mind, not enough?
[27:47] Andrew: What else do you because like, I'll say that's enough. Like wrecking ball? Like, do you really want that?
[27:51] Pat: No, I want I want every time to be there.
[27:55] Andrew: Okay, and you killed her.
[27:57] Matt: What did every time lose to?
[27:58] Andrew: I don't remember. But I know the one that that still holds me up and it is on my list about round one is crazy. You drive me crazy.
[28:05] Matt: Yes, that too. I will. And now we're talking about the inauguration because crazy is crazy.
[28:14] Andrew: Okay. You know what? I hope the people who did that, I hope they're happy now. I hope they're so happy. Right. Now that you're choosing this, for sure. Now that you're choosing this, you know. Okay. Sorry. But yeah. I was happy to see Welcome Christmas die, though, because I did... No, that was from your first episode. I was on that episode. Yeah, that was my first one. And I didn't vote for it to go through the first time. So the fact that it finally is gone.
[28:40] Matt: Do you guys not like... Okay, Christmas is not too long ago. Do you guys not... Like, does your heart not swell when they're like, Welcome, welcome, fa, hu, pa, mu... And they're lit, whoever was on the podcast talking about their outfits. Amazing. I love the red sweaters and the green scarves. Give me more. But you know what? I... We're talking round three here. Like, be real.
[29:05] Pat: Okay.
[29:06] Andrew: Mercy. I think that's the precedent that you're talking about. I've got it out. But can we talk about the middle competition, which was... The... You got it. Come on.
[29:17] Matt: I Feel Pretty.
[29:17] Andrew: Oh, no. I got it. I got it. We worked with a help hand. I'm sorry. It was vicious and I'm ready. The Monica Brandy song versus the I Feel Pretty.
[29:26] Matt: I've never heard it. I never heard their names placed in that sequence. Monica Brandy, not Brandy and Monica. Okay. Continue.
[29:33] Andrew: Okay. I would have voted for The Boy Is Mine. I think...
[29:39] Pat: You're not the only one.
[29:41] Andrew: And yeah, but I'm okay with I Feel Pretty, I'm Pretty going through, even though I think it should have lost in round one to...
[29:51] Matt: Faithfully?
[29:52] Andrew: Faithfully. That is the minority opinion. Like, that is not...
[29:56] Pat: No, it's not.
[29:58] Andrew: No.
[29:58] Pat: I did live for the Gleek last week being like, I didn't even know what Faithfully was. That was really funny. He was hilarious.
[30:06] Andrew: Okay. I'm done talking about that episode. You guys can still talk about it. I just... Basically, I was listening to the whole thing and I was like, what is going on? Like, I need to start joining the live streams more to make sure things like that don't happen anymore.
[30:20] Matt: Not on your watch.
[30:21] Andrew: That was a tough matchup. I mean, I would have voted I Feel Pretty and Pretty, but I did feel like The Boy Is Mine going out, you know, in round two also sucks. But there's been a good amount of those. I mean, you expect that with a round two, right? That you're going to get tougher matchups, but it still doesn't make it easier when it happens.
[30:35] Pat: It's tough out here.
[30:43] Andrew: You want me to take your side with a controversial matchup from...
[30:47] Pat: I don't give a fuck anymore. Do whatever.
[30:51] Andrew: All right, wait, hold on. This is more important than what I'm about to say. I literally was bracing myself for today. I was like, I'm going to exhaust Andrew. I think we need to do a check-in here. So Patrick, I'm so sorry, but I'm just going to talk my ass off about all these stupid things that don't matter.
[31:04] Pat: Is this the fifth to last episode of the round?
[31:10] Andrew: You're asking very technical questions. I can't get it. The sixth to last, fifth to last, whatever it is. I just need everybody at home listening to be aware of Andrew's broken.
[31:22] Pat: Patrick's theory was kind of correct. I know.
[31:24] Andrew: I gleeked too hard.
[31:25] Pat: I can tell. You gleeked too hard. You need a little gleek hiatus.
[31:29] Andrew: Let me make all the decisions today.
[31:32] Pat: Look, look, all that said...
[31:33] Andrew: Your votes count as two.
[31:35] Pat: Yeah.
[31:36] Andrew: You made a point and you made a correct point when you said that Outcast was better than Bitch.
[31:44] Matt: Oh, thank you. That does actually mean a lot.
[31:47] Andrew: Wait, what makes you say that?
[31:50] Matt: Um, cute little group number vibe. I don't care. It's a stupid song. Bitch doesn't do anything for me. And, uh, Outcast did pretty sure a season four, love a season four, you know, group number. And so I don't know. Like, it's just interesting to hear the perspectives on that particular matchup, because I feel like since it's happened, people have come down on so hard on both sides of the aisle of like, I never thought there was a chance that this one would have won. And Outcast didn't even go through and they were still mad.
[32:21] Andrew: Yeah.
[32:21] Matt: It was like even being a consideration. Does anyone care about either of those songs? Question for the culture.
[32:27] Andrew: Question for the culture. I didn't think that like that many people liked Bitch, but I think that what people were really upset about, I've had like a number of people bring this to me that like, they're like, that I apparently say in the episode that there is no clear winner between, there's no clear better song.
[32:46] Matt: Sure.
[32:46] Andrew: Which I do stand by.
[32:48] Matt: I would stand by you. I would go into battle.
[32:53] Andrew: Are you just trying to go back?
[32:54] Matt: No, who gives a crap about those songs?
[32:58] Andrew: Yeah.
[32:59] Matt: Let's be so real. It took me like a minute to be like, Outcast. But I do like, I like the corniness of Outcast for sure. But like, if you heard it twice on the Glackett, we don't need to hear it a third time. And Bitch, same thing. Like, it's just kind of like, who cares if either of those songs aren't on three. But maybe some people really do care. And if you are people, I'm sorry. I want to hear you make some noise.
[33:28] Andrew: Yeah.
[33:30] Pat: Okay. Well, that was nice of you to stand by, Andrew, Matt. Do you have other reasons?
[33:35] Matt: Yeah. I'm also trying to-
[33:38] Pat: Thank you Patrick for hosting.
[33:41] Matt: I'm broken. I was looking at the official Glackett document the other day and my jaw dropped when I saw that All or Nothing is just gone. And I know it's not the only episode that's gone. But I do think I want to like, check in myself when round two ends and see what other episodes were just wiped off completely.
[34:01] Andrew: Oh, yeah, it's wild.
[34:02] Pat: Face of existence. Because wait, just- Let me host a podcast for a second and say, Matt, what song would you have wanted to see make it farther from All or Nothing?
[34:11] Matt: I think Hall of Fame is like a low-key-
[34:15] Andrew: Oh, I love that one.
[34:18] Matt: Oh. The only part that I really like about that song is like Vanessa Lengie's. Like, I feel like she gets so much to do in that regional, like as like a little goodbye. They're like, goodbye, Vanessa Lengie. Oh, where are Joe and Sugar? Right here, Vanessa Lengie! Like, when they have the lyric, King Kong banging on your chest. And then like, they have like the shot of Vanessa Lengie's doing exactly that. That's cute. But besides that, I'm like, no, I don't know.
[34:46] Andrew: That's cute.
[34:46] Matt: But it's great. Besides that, I'm like, no.
[34:48] Andrew: Yeah.
[34:49] Pat: Wait, so was I supposed to be giving more grievances? Was that-
[34:51] Matt: Do your thing.
[34:52] Andrew: You know what? I'm the host now. But Andrew wanted to host again.
[34:54] Matt: I'm the host now.
[34:56] Andrew: Wait, stop! I feel like- Because I feel like I talked so much last week while I was editing. I was like, this bitch needs to shut the fuck up.
[35:03] Matt: You said no talking this week.
[35:04] Andrew: You wiped tears from your face like six times in the past 30 minutes.
[35:09] Pat: There's another one.
[35:10] Andrew: I'm so sorry, Matt. Go ahead. I'll shut up.
[35:14] Matt: These will be quick. Dinosaur over Hello, Goodbye is incorrect.
[35:19] Andrew: That was my episode, so watch yourself.
[35:21] Matt: Well, did you vote that way? Because you were incorrect.
[35:23] Andrew: Yeah, me, Claudia, and Andrew were all-
[35:25] Pat: Why is it okay when Patrick interjects?
[35:32] Matt: What do you have against Hello, Goodbye? Do you not like season one?
[35:35] Andrew: I don't remember her.
[35:36] Matt: Oh, that's your problem. I'm driving this into the ground, and here I go, and you're going to get mad at me again for just interjecting. It's Glee porn coded. Hello, Goodbye is Glee porn.
[35:49] Andrew: Yeah.
[35:49] Matt: I was listening to- Was it last week, the week before? People talking about Loser Like Me season two. It's come up a couple times lately, and I think I also was part of killing her in- I think it was also my first episode. But same thing. Glee porn.
[36:04] Andrew: Glee porn.
[36:05] Matt: Which on TikTok, they would call it-
[36:08] Pat: Gorn.
[36:08] Matt: Plea Gorn. Do we know what that means? Do we know what that means?
[36:12] Andrew: No, what is that?
[36:13] Matt: No.
[36:17] Andrew: No? Okay. On the app that was gone for 12 hours and then came back, anytime that there's a TikTok of two men just looking like something weird- not weird. Something is going on between the two of them, people will comment and say, is this Pei Gorn?
[36:35] Pat: Is that like-
[36:36] Andrew: What is that?
[36:37] Matt: Well, swap the first two letters of the two words.
[36:40] Andrew: Pei?
[36:40] Matt: Are you saying pee?
[36:41] Andrew: Gay porn.
[36:43] Matt: Can I say that on this podcast?
[36:46] Andrew: Well, so you said glee porn.
[36:47] Matt: Why does that take me so long?
[36:49] Andrew: Okay. What an interesting episode we've had so far.
[36:54] Pat: Yeah.
[36:56] Matt: I feel like the rest of my grievances aren't even important because we're just, you know-
[36:59] Andrew: You can list them and I won't interject.
[37:01] Matt: You will or won't?
[37:03] Andrew: I won't.
[37:04] Matt: But I kind of want you to.
[37:05] Andrew: Will the same courtesy be applied to me when I go through my grievances?
[37:09] Matt: You haven't done them yet?
[37:10] Andrew: No, you just asked me why I disagreed with all of the-
[37:13] Matt: You went through last episode's thing and then you were like, now, Matt, your turn and I'm going to come back to you later. I was hoping.
[37:20] Andrew: Okay, quick. Ready? So, listen to your heart is gone. It shouldn't be. But get it right is also- It's one of those where there's a lot of matchups that have happened lately where I'm like, not the decision I would have gone with, but it's tough. I understand. Even the Rachel- The Rolo versus Rolo was that. And then was it you, Andrew, that had positive things to say about Just the Way You Are season two? I feel like it might have-
[37:43] Andrew: Oh, I love her.
[37:44] Matt: Yeah, I would have sent her through over being alive.
[37:48] Andrew: So, I was with you on that one.
[37:49] Matt: Thank you. And that's my grievances, but Pat, I'm sorry. Patrick apparently has more that he wants to say. So, go ahead.
[37:59] Pat: I disagree with Just the Way You Are discourse, but I talked about that in my last episode.
[38:05] Andrew: Okay.
[38:08] Matt: Any more grievances, Matt?
[38:10] Matt: I have a few quick ones.
[38:11] Andrew: No, I'm ready for yours.
[38:13] Matt: This one is quick.
[38:15] Andrew: Yeah.
[38:16] Matt: I would have done cold-hearted over New York State of Mind. People are saying that. Putting that out there, putting that out there.
[38:23] Andrew: Okay. I have a question for both of you. Do you believe in science?
[38:30] Matt: Yeah.
[38:31] Pat: No, I don't like where this is going.
[38:35] Andrew: Does Gleek of the Week believe in science? Is science real?
[38:38] Matt: Science is real.
[38:40] Andrew: Do you think that math and science are related?
[38:47] Matt: Yeah.
[38:47] Pat: I believe in science fiction.
[38:49] Andrew: Okay, then riddle me this. How am I supposed to believe that I will survive lost sectionals, they couldn't even get enough points to win sectionals, yet it beats what won the Glee Club nationals?
[39:08] Matt: Oh, my God. That's objectively wrong.
[39:11] Pat: Oh, my God. That is such a lame...
[39:15] Matt: Oh, my God. You cannot say that.
[39:18] Andrew: Because we all know...
[39:20] Pat: Oh, my God. Like, think about season two sectionals.
[39:24] Andrew: No, I'm just like, you can't bring that to me right now. You broke me.
[39:28] Matt: What matchup is this?
[39:29] Andrew: Oh, my God. They're right by the dashboard light versus surviving nationals.
[39:35] Pat: Okay.
[39:35] Andrew: Oh, my God. Because Matt brought up earlier that all the songs from All or Nothing are gone. A competition that got them to go to nationals. None of them made it through round one.
[39:49] Matt: By that logic, that applies to yours.
[39:53] Andrew: Right, Patrick? What you're saying? That it's like... They won't bet against each other, so...
[39:59] Pat: But...
[40:00] Andrew: There didn't exist a competition vacuum.
[40:03] Matt: Okay, Gleek the Gleek doesn't believe in science. But everyone is always like being like, Oh, I love Finn. Finn's my favorite character. Paradise by the dashboard light is Finn's best number by far. And y'all just tossed it aside like it was nothing.
[40:20] Andrew: What were you just saying about just the way you are? That song blows.
[40:26] Matt: Oh.
[40:29] Andrew: I'm not a fan.
[40:30] Matt: So, wait, Matt, did you think he said otherwise? I feel like he was praising Finn, but then just threw away a Finn number.
[40:34] Matt: I'm saying Paradise by the dashboard light is a very, very rare good Finn performance. And you guys were just like, no, whatever. Basically, here's what I'll really say. I'm done being annoying. The Paradise by the dashboard light. I'm just kind of disappointed in the discourse around it. And it honestly kind of hurt my feelings. Because I think a lot of people are quick to be like, that wouldn't have won them nationals. And they're just standing around the stage. And the survivor mashup is so great and should be the winner of the black. And I'm just like... Were you not watching season three live when they won with that number? Does that not mean anything to you? Like Paradise by the dashboard light.
All of them are singing. They're all on stage. It's one of the only big, huge, great every single character of the first three seasons. Besides Matt Rutherford and Lauren Zeiss. They're all there. And it's so special. And I don't get why people... I feel like when they talk about it, they're relishing in the fact that Paradise died. And I'm like, why? I know it's back. But I really think that I obviously should have gone over survivor mashup. But I guess a lot of people disagree with me.
[42:05] Andrew: I do not. I don't get it. And I don't get... People seem to be happy that it died. I'm like, what? Like that song is everything to me.
[42:51] Andrew McGuire: However, I feel that Nationals as an episode, if you watch that episode and you have "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" within the episode, that is stronger endorphins than the mp4 of "Survivor Ally Will Survive." Does that make sense? You want the full story.
[43:10] Matt: Yeah, it does. But like, I feel like a lot, like I feel like that logic isn't applied to like many other scenarios. I get that you're looking for a reason like why you were supporting that. But like, I don't know. And you know, you and Lina and I forget who the third one was.
[43:26] Pat: It was Jack.
[43:27] Matt: Jack Glissner. Yeah, we're really like nice about it. I just feel like in like the comments or like in some of the DM conversations I've been in or like some of the Patreon people were like, I don't get "Paradise." I don't get why it's so great. And I'm like, oh, that hurts my heart.
[43:44] Andrew McGuire: Maybe they weren't there. You're right.
[43:46] Matt: I'm like, did that not mean anything to you? And also, I said this before, but I'll say it again, that I think that that competition really opened my eyes to the order of these competitions really having, you know, a lot of impact on the way that we vote. Because "Survivor Ally Will Survive" was the second song pulled more recent in memory just by a few minutes. But um, that I think did have something to play, you know?
[44:19] Andrew McGuire: That's fair. Matt, do you have like discourse on this?
[44:22] Matt: Well, so I mean, I would have voted "Paradise," but also like just my journey with "Paradise" is interesting, where it's not one that like stuck with me through the first like couple years after the show. It's one that I only remembered upon a full series rewatching podcast. And then I was like, oh, this is in my top five favorite Glee songs of all time. But because I didn't have it all of those years, like if you gave me that decision to make before the podcast I did about Glee, I would have voted for "Survivor Ally Will Survive" every time just because the Troubletones numbers all stuck with me so much more. But I do think that especially kind of like Andrew was saying, when you have all the context going into "Paradise" and have it build up to that moment, where the stage explodes with New Direction ooziness, that's what makes it so good.
[45:17] Pat: Nude, erection, ooziness. Yeah.
[45:21] Andrew McGuire: And how do you feel about "Come See About Me" versus "Sister with Love"?
[45:25] Matt: Oh, God! We are not doing that again.
[45:29] Andrew McGuire: So yeah, I guess like at the end of the day, I love the "Survivor" mashup a lot. Like that's certainly a really high ranker for me. I think I was just like, I needed to like, get out my angst toward I feel like people being like a little dismissive of that number, which like I think is so huge. Like, you know, I did also win nationals, like we won nationals. And then like to see like the disrespect for like a lot of the nationals songs and the glacket. I'm like, y'all, are we watching the same show? But okay, thank you for letting me share that. I only have like, these next ones will be quick. Andrew McGuire, as the president of the Quinn for Bray can do no wrong society, I hereby revoke your status and membership. As Sue would say John McCain is rolling in his grave. Come see about me losing to a Rory solo is insanity. And I'm convinced you're trolling me. But you've said enough about this.
[46:26] Matt: Yeah, I just I you're kind of right. I am trolling.
[46:30] Andrew McGuire: But my question is, how many? How many solos did Rory get?
[46:35] Matt: He got four.
[46:36] Andrew McGuire: And how many solos did Quinn get?
[46:38] Matt: Six. That's crazy.
[46:40] Andrew McGuire: So like, we're putting a Rory solo over a Quinn solo and she was a main character for like most of the series.
[46:50] Pat: Can I say something really quick? Like she has barely any representation in the glacket.
[46:53] Andrew McGuire: Can I guess what you're gonna say? Are you gonna say you're barking up the wrong tree?
[46:56] Pat: No, no, no. No, because I think that I'm gonna take advantage of us talking about Rory for a second with nothing that has to do with anything that you're saying right now. But something that happened this past weekend. I went to my best friend from high school's wedding and her name is Tori. And I mean, Tori like lost touch over the past 10 years since high school graduation. And as I was texting her name, Tori, it would autocorrect to Rory. I don't know any Rory.
[47:26] Andrew McGuire: So suffice to say, that did scare me that this fictional character, Rory, who did little to nothing on the hit Fox show Glee, thinks like my phone thinks I'm talking about him other than this actual person that got married on Saturday.
[47:45] Matt: Yeah, because I talk about Rory every week on the glacket. I need to type his name. I hate it. I hate that was a moment for me. I was like, I need to I'm clicking too hard.
[47:56] Andrew McGuire: Matt, would you have voted for "Come See About Me" or the Rory solo?
[48:00] Matt: You gotta vote for the unholy trinity anytime you get a chance to.
[48:05] Andrew McGuire: What I would think you would do.
[48:07] Matt: I just needed to hear someone else.
[48:09] Andrew McGuire: I went on a weird. Yeah, okay.
[48:12] Matt: So last two are really quick. I would have done "Cell Block Tango" over "Natural Woman."
[48:17] Andrew McGuire: I'm surprised "Cell Block Tango" is dead. Or am I like misremembering it?
[48:22] Matt: No, you're right.
[48:23] Andrew McGuire: Yeah.
[48:23] Matt: No, that's what happens. I get that "Cell Block Tango." I understand why it stopped progressing here. I always feel weird when you guys say it died. I mean, I say it too, but sometimes I feel weird saying it. "Cell Block Tango" died. She's gone. She's dead.
[48:39] Andrew McGuire: I'll miss her bad.
[48:41] Pat: One of the last times or two times that I came on, I feel like I was advocating for more Mercedes going through to future rounds.
[48:48] Matt: So I was totally fair.
[48:49] Pat: She's doing really well.
[48:50] Matt: Yeah.
[48:51] Pat: Good. As it should be. And then the last one is I would have done "Take a Bow" over "Jessie's Girl."
[48:59] Andrew McGuire: So the poll, the Instagram poll that happened yesterday with that exact competition did not reflect that opinion at all.
[49:04] Matt: I would go "Jessie's Girl." I think it's very close, but I'm probably like 55-45 "Jessie's Girl."
[49:15] Pat: I think same for me, Matt, except flipped. I'm 55 "Take a Bow." And that's okay. Most of these, I'm not mad. The only one I'm really kind of mad about is the Quinn solo. But the other ones, I just wanted to say my peace, but much, much love and respect to all the Gleeks and to you, Andrew. Smile.
[49:39] Andrew McGuire: Oh, thank you. I guess you see the gun again. You finally see the gun I'm welding.
[49:44] Pat: As if you put it down once. Yeah.

[50:04] Andrew McGuire: Please do. Please.
[50:05] Matt: Okay. No, on a real note, it is very kind of you to have nearly an hour of nuanced opinions of the Glocket. It's very kind that you feel so passionately about this thing. So thank you for that. I do want to say about "Take a Bow" versus "Jessie's Girl," I do think that that is one of the most fun competitions that we've ever had on the Glocket. I was laughing.
[50:35] Andrew McGuire: It's so fun that those were the same exact songs that went against each other in round one. And, you know, as much as I also love "Take a Bow," Patrick, I like, I'm like, that's actually okay. And I think it's like so fun that "Jessie's Girl" came back and destroyed the same girl that killed her initially.
[50:51] Matt: Right. Like the Glocket lore was luring.

Love it so much. Who wants to start discourse?
[55:01] Matt: I can't remember a time before I had a crush on Cordova Street. It's just never been on my radar. But yeah, this is obviously so lovely. I don't know if I've been on record as a Sam Sadie's shipper, but if not, here we are. Get the troops rallied. Yeah. They are just adorable together. I'll be curious to hear, for those of us following along with Kevin and Jenna, what they think when we get up to the part of season five where Sam Sadie's is going strong, strong, and all of that silliness, because they're getting close to it. So I want to hear what they have to say about all that. But this is still early on in Sam Sadie's life together. And I don't know, cheating or no cheating, they're just adorable.

I really, really, really like this song. Um, I think when people are like, Hey, what's winning the blackhead for you? Like this doesn't come to mind. But like, personally, this one is a real heavy hitter for me. I like Sam Sadie's. Um, I don't know if I like ship it like super hard. Like if Glee ended after season three, I would have definitely I think season five. Um, I go between did the writers just like, assassinate Sam character and like, make him like dumb. And yeah, you know, we've talked about how like, some of like the race comments he made. Oh, it's like, really gross. And so like, it's so like, I think all of that, like, sometimes I just pretend that doesn't exist to me. Because yeah, I think that they are a good couple.
But the song itself, I love the harmonies. I, I it's just like, an earworm to me, like scratches, it's just my brain. Like I almost like, cheered up a little bit. Like I just like, I think that there are some songs that like really, really hit for some of us. And like others, like a respect them, whatever. Like sometimes I hear people talk on the podcast, like, I love the song. And I think how I never even give it a second thought. Like, yeah, people listening are thinking that right now being like, why is he so obsessed with the song, but I really, really love it. Definitely one of my favorites. For sure. No, I feel like I almost like put it in the same camp as like, natural woman. At least I do.
Where I'm like, these are both such great covers. But like, I'm not thinking about them all the time, especially when it comes to like, progressing on the Glackett. But like, I'm looking at her right now human nature. And I'm like, wait a minute, Dark Horse, for sure. Love her back. That's why they're so important, I think, because it would be very boring if the rest of the Glackett was just the chalk picks going through and winning in the end and whatnot. So you know, whether that is like I was kind of saying earlier, a Paradise by the Dashboard Light, if that is what that was to you, and you just didn't have it on your radar for a while like me, and then it comes back to you and you're like, oh my god, this is great.

Here I go, saying the most offensive thing. No, to me, it's exactly what I was saying earlier, where I'm like, I'm not thinking about human nature. It's so much better when you actually walk into her house, when you get familiar with the furniture, when you really spend some time getting to know her, whereas from an outside perspective, it's like, oh, from what I recall about human nature, she's good, but she doesn't... I feel like I would go out on a limb and say, better than Boy Is Mine.
[1:02:30] Patrick: I wouldn't put it over Boy Is Mine.
[1:02:34] Andrew: Right. But I think from an outside perspective, I'm like, Boy Is Mine just has so much juice associated with it. It has the Naya factor, which I can't deny, but somehow this is more powerful than that to me. But I could see if Gleeks disagree. This is one where we'll see what we pull, but I maybe have made it obvious already, I really love this song. I really like this. And I'm fine with that. But Don't Speak did make my top five that if I could bring back from round one right now of all of the songs, Don't Speak was on the list. You can pardon certain songs.
[1:07:33] Andrew: Yeah. Sorry to bring up political speech. Wow, I would do that. Yeah, God. Yeah, but Don't Speak, I feel bad. I like Don't Speak a lot. And I think that there was more conversation to be had with Don't Speak as we continued the Glackett. And it's unfortunate that I think like on truly episode six of this damn podcast that Don't Speak was out of the conversation.
[1:07:57] Patrick: Can I share a thought that I've been thinking about lately? As at least, you know, started a podcast very similar to Gleek of the Week, although instead of ranking or instead of doing a bracket of Glee songs, Aman and I are doing a Big Brother Players bracket. Now, the difference that I've noticed through doing like 30 episodes of that so far is that when we say goodbye to people in round one, it feels like we have said everything that we need to say about those people. Because like, just as far as Big Brother is concerned, there's a lot of bad Big Brother players. So there's so many people to just get out of the way and move on to the next round.
[1:08:35] Andrew: Yeah, it's definitely not the case around here, because with the entire round one elimination group, there's probably more to say about at least half of them. So I'm just letting you know a thought that I don't think I've shared with you yet that you do have the tougher job. Maybe that's why you're so sad, or you don't like saying that the songs died, because you're thinking about your podcast.

He's not, you know, you can't have sloppy joes every day for lunch and think you can get away with it. And I'm like, yeah, he kind of can. We're looking at the same person.
[1:16:04] Matt: So all I want to say is real quick, besides like praising how much fun this is, is like when we talk about like, you know, Marley losing, you know, look at me, I'm Sandra Day reprised. Like it's gone. Like she's fine. Look at her options here and look at, you know, where she can go with the selection that she has available. You know, she's okay. Is my takeaway.
[1:16:30] Pat: Um, even, you know what? Joe Hart kind of was still in focus for me in this. Like one of my favorite scenes, because I feel like it is a behind the scenes clip. [1:19:30] Pat: Yeah. One slot.
[1:19:32] Matt: Um, yeah. So that's what I'm thinking about when it comes to this song.
[1:19:39] Andrew: Okay. You're saying centerfold hot in here is the worst song of this episode.
[1:19:43] Matt: Um, I'll put it above. This is the new year.
[1:19:46] Pat: Oh, I still like that.
[1:19:49] Matt: Back.
[1:19:50] Pat: No, I like, this is the new year. That's cute.
[1:19:53] Matt: Yeah, it's cute. I mean, this is a crazy good episode.
[1:19:58] Pat: Torn.
[1:19:59] Matt: Torn.
[1:20:01] Pat: I love a thousand years.
[1:20:03] Matt: Oh, even though I killed a thousand years.
[1:20:06] Pat: You were the one that killed thousand years.
[1:20:10] Matt: Not me. I wouldn't have killed him.
[1:20:12] Pat: And let me love you. Which is, is this one, is this Jake or is this Artie?
[1:20:16] Matt: No, this is Jake.
[1:20:16] Pat: This is Jake.
[1:20:17] Matt: Oh, that's a great one.
[1:20:18] Pat: Yeah, no, this is good. Um, what a good episode. And you're telling me that there's only a chance for one of these to go to the next round, and it's probably not going to?
[1:20:25] Matt: Yeah, and I'm telling you right now, and I'm telling you, Glickasters by Glickast, that this episode will be done on the Glackette after this competition. I'm just telling you right now.
[1:20:36] Andrew: Oh, thank God. Um, I just, I really, I can respect what you had to say about the song, Matt. And I think it is a ton of fun. And a lot of times I think, like, the fun factor is sometimes overlooked. I mean, like, some of the biggest numbers that come to mind when we talk about, like, what's winning the Glackette are, like, powerful ballads, like, group numbers centered around, like, a single vocalist with everyone swaying.
[1:21:08] Pat: That's a very good point.
[1:21:09] Andrew: You know, like, a lot of times I think about the fun factor, like, a lot of Gleeks don't like me because I killed Uninvited with the Rio mashup. But like,
[1:21:22] Matt: No, you made the right call.
[1:21:23] Andrew: That's a great example of, like, that's just, like, so fun, like, infectious. And, you know, Andrew, to the point you were making earlier in the episode about why you said Paradise didn't hit the same for you as the Survivor mashup, like, I get it. Like, the energy, that's, like, a huge reason why a lot of songs are memorable and, like, infectious and, like, why people love them so much. I think that the human nature number, if, I don't know if we're ready to vote, but I think you guys already know my vote will lean in that direction. It's just, like, so sweet and, like, pure and, like, innocent and, like, really great chemistry between the two of them. And it's, like, meaningful. And I kind of feel like that number is, like, we're down in the ratings. Let's put in the commercial for this episode that, like, half the guys are half naked. Like, that's, like,
[1:22:22] Pat: Hey, all these really hot guys that we just cast.
[1:22:24] Andrew: That's what this number I can't help but, like, think about. Does that necessarily have to take away from it? No.
[1:22:32] Pat: Like, to me, does it? Yeah.
[1:22:34] Andrew: But I agree with you. It's fun. And I can understand why people would want this over human nature. I just, I think that human nature would be my vote. But we're not voting yet.
[1:22:45] Pat: No, I think we are.
[1:22:47] Andrew: I'm voting human nature.
[1:22:48] Matt: Thank you. I do just want to say that for Seneferal Totten here, Jacob Artist, for a variety of reasons, is my MVP in the song. But he makes me laugh every time when I see him.
[1:22:56] Pat: Why is he the MVP? Just based on appearance?
[1:22:59] Matt: Just because he's a great person, you know?
[1:23:03] Pat: Right.
[1:23:04] Matt: His personality really, really was shining in this.
[1:23:08] Andrew: Yeah, well, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Because the part where he's shining even more, and he gets the spray tan in the shower, and he makes that look at the camera, like, why did that just happen to me? That is so funny.
[1:23:17] Pat: Is very funny.
[1:23:19] Matt: I forgot about that. Yeah, that gets me every time. To this song's credit, the continuity of the tattoo that Jake has, which, you know, I feel he doesn't, you know, remember continuity a lot of the times. But the fact that they remembered that a few episodes ago, he canonically got a tattoo on his shoulder. I don't know. That's a point for me in the song's direction.
[1:23:44] Pat: Remind me what the tattoo was of.
[1:23:46] Matt: I can't picture.
[1:23:47] Pat: The tattoo is of the Star of David. Do you remember this? That him and Puck got that during, like, Hanukkah or Hanukkah?
[1:23:55] Matt: Sure.
[1:23:56] Pat: That's so vaguely familiar.
[1:23:59] Matt: Yeah, I think that you're on the right track there. I'm not a season four historian, but that sounds right to me.
[1:24:08] Andrew: Okay, so, okay. One vote's been cast. I know what I want to do, but, like, I think I want to do it after Andrew does what he wants to do. I mean, Andrew, blink, blink, blink.
[1:24:20] Pat: Wait, no, but, like, Matt, you want to make me choose?
[1:24:25] Matt: I think it's, like, pretty obvious.
[1:24:27] Pat: Sorry to take all the wind out of your ear.
[1:24:29] Matt: No, no, no. Well, no, I just want to cast a pity vote.
[1:24:32] Andrew: Oh, okay. Then I will obviously be voting for human nature, Gleecast version of my Gleecast.
[1:24:42] Andrew: Welcome back to Gleek of the Week! We are nearing the end of round two, and to help with this week's Glacket decisions, I'm joined by previous Gleeks, Matt and Pat.
[1:25:12] Matt: Hey, everyone!
[1:25:42] Pat: Hi, guys!
[1:26:12] Andrew: So, this week we have a lot to discuss, including some very horny Glee songs, Dot Marie Jones singing Ariana Grande, and of course, a lot about The Glee Project.
[1:26:32] Matt: I can't wait to dive into all of that!
[1:27:02] Pat: Same here! It's going to be a fun episode.
[1:27:22] Andrew: Absolutely! Let's kick things off with our first performance.
[1:27:52] Andrew: The first song we're discussing is "Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do."
[1:28:12] Matt: This is such a classic mashup!
[1:28:32] Pat: I love how they blend those two songs together.
[1:28:52] Andrew: Right? It really showcases the talent of the cast.
[1:29:12] Matt: And the choreography is just fantastic.
[1:29:32] Pat: Definitely! It really brings the energy up.
[1:29:52] Andrew: So, where do we think this performance should land on the Glacket?
[1:30:12] Matt: I think it deserves a strong spot.
[1:30:32] Pat: Agreed! It’s a memorable performance for sure.
[1:30:52] Andrew: Alright, moving on to our next song, "Break Free."
[1:31:12] Matt: This one is so powerful!
[1:31:32] Pat: I love the message behind it.
[1:31:52] Andrew: Yes! And the way they perform it really captures that feeling of liberation.
[1:32:12] Matt: Plus, Dot Marie Jones singing Ariana Grande is just iconic.
[1:32:32] Pat: It really is! She brings such a unique flair to it.
[1:32:52] Andrew: So, how do we feel about this performance in the context of the Glacket?
[1:33:12] Matt: I think it should definitely move forward.
[1:33:32] Pat: Absolutely! It’s a standout moment.
[1:33:52] Andrew: Great! Now let's discuss "Centerfold/Hot in Herre."
[1:34:12] Matt: This mashup is so much fun!
[1:34:32] Pat: I love how they play with the lyrics.
[1:34:52] Andrew: It’s such a catchy combination!
[1:35:12] Matt: And the performances are just hilarious.
[1:35:32] Pat: Totally! It’s a great example of Glee’s humor.
[1:35:52] Andrew: So, should this one advance?
[1:36:12] Matt: I think it should!
[1:36:32] Pat: For sure! It’s a crowd-pleaser.
[1:36:52] Andrew: Alright, moving on to "Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy."
[1:37:12] Matt: This is such a classic duet!
[1:37:32] Pat: The harmonies are beautiful.
[1:37:52] Andrew: They really complement each other well.
[1:38:12] Matt: I think this one deserves a high spot on the Glacket.
[1:38:32] Pat: Definitely! It’s a timeless performance.
[1:38:49] Andrew: That like I as much as like I always wanted Harmony to come back as like the series progressed, I need to like remind myself that like to the casual fan Harmony was a blink and you'll miss it. Like Harmony is like not registered. Like I'm thinking like I watch Glee almost the entire series with my mom. My mom's not gonna remember Harmony and like if Harmony came back...
[1:39:17] Pat: Andrew's mom, come on out. I remember Harmony. Um, no, like I'm just like, I don't know. I feel like casual fans are not gonna remember Harmony and like that's just like a fan, yeah, like one for me, right?
[1:39:32] Andrew: So imagine like the casual fans that listen to Gleek of the Week someday get to their final round and it's "Anything You Can Do/Anything Goes" versus "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty."
[1:39:43] Matt: Listening to a Glacket podcast, I don't—are you casual? I don't—there's gotta be casual now. Now you were saying that before you were like a lot of these people maybe only seen Glee once.
[1:39:54] Andrew: And I guess has anyone listening only seen—you know, you guys are definitely—was it Sam last week that said he didn't know what "Faithfully" was?
[1:40:00] Pat: That's—that is a good—that there we go. Um, that is—that he was like, I've seen the show once or twice.
[1:40:05] Andrew: Trolling though. Was that Sam? Come on out. Were you trolling Sam being on a patron show trolling?
[1:40:11] Pat: Andrew's face is the fact that Sam, Lindsay, and Andrew's mom are all waiting in the ring so they really want to contribute and we found a way to bring them all out.
[1:40:22] Matt: Andrew, I think that the point you're making though was great. Like I—I think just Matt in general, me and Andrew are fans of Lindsay for sure. Um, but the way that they did Harmony was truly to be like, you get two episodes and you're never gonna be back on because they made her so big and larger than life.
[1:40:39] Andrew: I think that like we, you know, hope in an alternate reality that Lindsay could have been like more like it became the main character of the show. Um, but imagine—I mean like world—sorry, imagine a world where they not didn't make her like the rival of Rachel in season three but made her like the maybe like the Marley like the next generation like Rachel where it's like okay they didn't have to make her so big they could have like had her be a little insecure like Marley but with like a big voice or whatever.
[1:41:12] Pat: But um, yeah I—I think one thing I actually wanted to ask you guys about is that um when she accepts her trophy for third place why is it the case that people are always happy to get third place in the competitions? Have we talked about that?
[1:41:26] Matt: Oh they're thrilled, yeah. Um, like they're like oh my god like and to think I'm this good and I'm like you lost.
[1:41:31] Andrew: Were there so—is it fine that there are other uh—you are holding a third trophy—third place trophy, right?
[1:41:38] Pat: Yeah, right. Is it implied that like when you go to regionals or sectionals there's like actually like six teams and they only show the three?
[1:41:48] Andrew: Yeah, because like but then like other times when they're like our competition is this school and this school.
[1:41:53] Matt: Yeah, well because like national season two they come in like 12th place, right? Or something.
[1:41:58] Andrew: Yeah, so and don't get me started about how in season two they—you had to like qualify.
[1:42:02] Pat: Don't piss me off. Don't freaking piss me off. Why were they wearing their Cheerios uniform?
[1:42:09] Andrew: So just like just to set the set the score Harmony you came in third place at sectionals which is like your first go at it and you were happy about it and yeah you're a sophomore and to think that you're a sophomore and you're already this good next year is going to be a bloodbath.
[1:42:26] Pat: Where were you so let's set the score the Trouble Tones came in second in sectionals but their song beat "Paradise by the Dashboard Light."
[1:42:32] Andrew: Right, right, right, that part no one's saying that. Um, I—wait what did I want to say? Oh Matt, how over like yeah do you hate this? Are you—
[1:42:46] Matt: I just feel bad because I don't have a lot to contribute to Lindsay Pierce discourse.
[1:42:51] Andrew: Lindsay Pierce is queen mother status and I also like honestly I think I feel like a little bit—I'll be vulnerable for a second—a little defeated because whatever song comes up next even if I like it more I'm not gonna have my way.
[1:43:02] Pat: Oh that's not true though because as much as I love this song like I—I feel like I watch it and I'm like yes but like I don't know if I like—like I don't like ride or die for it like I do "Human."
[1:43:14] Matt: So you're saying there's a chance.
[1:43:19] Andrew: There's definitely a chance and like we do know that there's some crazy numbers.
[1:43:24] Pat: Yeah, Andrew's not saying there's a chance. Um, no because like I—I am scared about like um "Maybe This Time" and "You Keep Me Hanging On" like two songs that are still left to pull that I do really really love.
[1:43:37] Matt: Those are the only two.
[1:43:43] Andrew: Audio medium mouth ajar mouth ajar because like there's just so many gems left in the—but yeah I will say to all the glisteners and to Matt um apologies because I feel like we've pulled "Human Nature" into the song and I'm like this is the best song ever and I'm gonna vote for it.
[1:43:59] Pat: You know your passion on this podcast was starting to offend me actually.
[1:44:04] Andrew: Um, I do really love it. I think that we should we should probably reel it in a little bit about conversation. We're—we're nearing the end of conversation about this song.
[1:44:08] Matt: Yeah, I could go on for hours.
[1:44:16] Pat: Oh I know you could. When we pick this next song it's gonna be a bloodbath.
[1:44:21] Andrew: It's gonna be a bloodbath. I just want to um legal note which I think is fun when Lindsay Pierce was on this damn podcast that you're listening to now revealed to me and I don't know if this this maybe was public knowledge but I'm gonna say that she broke it on Gleek of the Week um that um this character of Harmony uh leading you know the Nyada hopefuls um was not a character that was specifically written for Lindsay Pierce but instead you know a character a role that she just slipped into whereas all the other Glee Project uh winners Alex Newell, Samuel Larsen, Damien McGinty all had characters specifically written for them which I think is like I don't know I kind of feel sad.
[1:45:03] Pat: I say my theory I feel like so they gave Alex two as a runner-up but then they made him a series regular um or famously a recurring in season four the main cast going in season five.
[1:45:16] Andrew: Yeah, yeah but then they only gave him half the episodes he was promised and then he tweeted about it.
[1:45:23] Pat: Um did he really tweet about it?
[1:45:31] Andrew: Yeah like um they said like and I was a series regular and they cut me mind you or something.
[1:45:38] Pat: Oh like mid-season after the 100th episode.
[1:45:38] Andrew: Yeah sorry if I also misgendered uh Alex. Alex goes by any pronoun.
[1:45:47] Pat: Oh really I did not know. Speaking of Alex I saw Shocked in Chicago um but Alex was not there because his run is over um but you but you did see um McKinley Abraham from Glee Project.
[1:45:55] Andrew: Yeah oh or actually sorry I get it you guys watch Glee Projects my god yo I'm dropping hints that I watched Glee Project I—I knew that McKinley did like a lot of like the understudy work for Alex but I wasn't sure if McKinley was like touring.
[1:46:06] Pat: I think McKinley's touring I didn't look at the program um I'll have to look at it anyway um my thing is that like I feel like they like Ryan was literally like yeah Damien McGinty and Samuel yeah I could see them like let's give them seven and then they're done even though Samuel got more and I guess so did like uh Damien but like I feel like he knew he was going to make Alex a series regular but still only gave him two episodes.
[1:46:36] Andrew: Oh I totally agree that's the—that's the canon that I believe too that it was like hey I'm gonna test out this character that very groundbreaking first trans uh teen character on on television you know that it's like okay let's see how this character is received in two episodes and see if we want to bring this character to uh McKinley High for don't do my show digress you like that what was that first okay I think that's a digress I feel like well you might be right but also Canadian American television you know too you might be right you might be crazy.
[1:47:03] Pat: No it's funny though because everyone's like Glee was so groundbreaking I've never seen a gay kid on television before no y'all did not watch digression no Marco did not get into like fights with his dad over Dylan for us to ignore that.
[1:47:18] Andrew: Wait no because I feel like at least like Alex went on interviews saying that fact that I just shared maybe I'm like network TV in America.
[1:47:27] Pat: Yeah Alex from Degrassi went on on record and said hey Unique Adams was the first trans character friend first trans teen character on well I don't there's there has to be a caveat with like television there's the caveats are always like network TV in America like like because obviously there's like before Glee like stories like that had been explored elsewhere um but yeah so um what are we talking about are we talking about Glee um yeah I just have one last legal note um did anybody catch uh the one common denominator I guess there's more common denominator but there was a very interesting common denominator between this performance and the um "Centerfold/Hot in Herre" performance anybody catch it?
[1:48:05] Matt: Common denominator um is it that everyone's really hot?
[1:48:10] Andrew: Uh that is a common denominator but not the one that I was thinking of I'll just reveal it um one of the mashup it's mashup it is mashup you're right I thought I could get one over on you um no uh one of the backup dancers Britney why am I forgetting her last name Britney she played a cheerleader Britney Parks was a Cheerio and now that's uh also my girl from Dancing with the Stars uh she's not a pro on the show but she does get called in from time to time to uh be a additional dancer and she's everything.
[1:48:41] Pat: Yeah um so she was in the "Centerfold/Hot in Herre" and also "Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do" which Gleeks at home do you think my answers were good enough for Andrew's question let me know.
[1:48:56] Andrew: Oh Gleeks are writing in right now and they're saying no that's oh immediate I didn't know that in the chat yeah I'm sorry Gleeks um okay are we finally ready to see what is against this behemoth come on maybe this time I'm so scared oh I'm emo I'm emo emo emo.
[1:49:37] Matt: But not I would be very I would be very impressed if you knew what song this was based on the trivia I'm going to provide right now this is the first winner of any Glacket competition the first winner ever on competition one I'm Mike that Chang uh Mike that Chang yes okay competition is it is it um "Man in the Mirror" is there Christmas episode?
[1:50:07] Andrew: It is a Christmas episode yeah because I remember the first episode had like two or three Christmas numbers and you're like this is not how I wanted to start the podcast um okay a Christmas a Christmas number from the see it should be easy because there's not that many still at the competition uh yeah I think there's I think it's just this one um um I'm just gonna why do I always get a Christmas song sorry it's "Here Comes Santa Claus."
[1:50:41] ♪ Musical number: "Here Comes Santa Claus" — performed by Glee Cast ♪
[1:52:38] Andrew: Um yeah I gotta start the discourse on this one I'm not even talking about the performance I'm just talking about the Glacket I'm gonna get emo on main is that okay?
[1:52:44] Pat: Yeah yes better than horny I mean better than horny like comment subscribe.
[1:52:58] Matt: I really was like kind of like hoping that Here Comes Santa Claus would be the final song like the in the final competition of round two just to have it like that that giant span because it's like crazy because like here we are in 2025 and that was the first no it wasn't the first song You Can't Touch This was the first song but You Can't Touch This lost to Here Comes Santa Claus and God that was 2021 March ah that's crazy and I just like I don't know I did want it to be the final one but you know what proof that's not rigged so I I'll get to my actual thoughts about the song your turn.
[1:53:46] Andrew: I love this song so much it's I love this cover so much I love this everything about this so much and I don't like a lot of Glee Christmas I mean I think it's it's it's all fine but it doesn't I don't I don't love it all I love this I love you like it better than You Can't Touch This of course I do okay okay just wanna make sure because I feel like I don't know if that competition really aged well I would say so um okay I love these three together I love this era this part of this part of these three being together like this time in the show this episode this plot line is so damn stupid and I love it I love it you know they're about to get robbed and and everything with that it's so stupid but the vocals are top-notch especially from Santana Lopez it's just so much fun I actually like had seen this one on the remaining songs playlist and I was like if I was ever to be voting for a Christmas song to advance I hope it is that one and I'm not feeling optimistic but I love her she's so gorgeous and also like legally this note is that it's the only Kirtle Tana number in the series where they're the only three vocalists hmm which I think you know it's great I wanted more though you know it is crazy this is the only one yeah yeah I mean certainly not the only Santana Rachel oh no involved in some kind of combination but with Kurt maybe that's why I love it so much because I love the three of them together in New York for the good and the bad so yeah Patrick you've been you look very stoic what are you thinking.
[1:55:39] Patrick: This is a lot to unpack here no um I you know I'll say I really liked watching that I don't give the season four or five Christmas episodes much time of day or sorry that was season four there wasn't a season five Christmas episode oh they're sure um wait I'm sorry see which year there's no five six Christmas up there's no season six but there's a two through yeah sorry I'm a fake leak fake leak sue me logically but I got the chance crazy right now no the chat Andrew your mom is giving me staring me down I don't give those two seasons Christmas episodes a ton of attention so I really liked watching that because I agree Matt like just the arrangement the vocals it's so great it's it's so interesting that like to me a lot of like the best Glee vocal moments and like covers are Christmas songs but I feel like a lot of people kind of they go through the black and they're like oh like a Christmas song and I get it like it's almost like a max George compared to like compared to like July or August or whatever but so I'm not always in the Christmas spirit year-round but I feel like the Glee Christmas songs especially season two and season three when I was like in the height of my obsession whereas like season four five and six I was like still relatively obsessed but like kind of watching it because I was that far in when you know the quality kind of dipped even though I was still a fan and invested I feel like two and three like it was so fun to have a you're obsessed with Glee and then your mom just bought the Glee the music Christmas CD and like we're not listening to that in the car.
Yay! Like it's I think it like touches a special place in my place in my heart and like a lot of the songs and some of the songs that didn't even make it to the show that were on those albums are some of my favorite Glee covers honestly and I listen to them every year at Christmas and I do listen to the song.
[1:57:52] Andrew: Which one are you thinking of?
[1:57:52] Patrick: Um well my favorite Glee Christmas song honestly is Welcome Christmas and that's why I was mad. Maybe a tie between Welcome Christmas sorry the ones from the show yeah I between Welcome Christmas and Island of Nyssa Toys I love both of those a lot and both of those have been paid dust on the Glackett. That's a good one. But of course Silent Night I love Naya's cover that didn't make it to the show. I loved Angels We Have Heard on High. That's great. With all the Glee girls. I love that one. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is so good. And then also we're talking about Lindsay Pierce. Do you hear what I hear? Do you hear what I hear? Matt I'm sorry. We're back in it. Matt does not want to talk to us anymore.
I actually think that might be my favorite number of hers. So then you do get it. You get it. Because that whole album. So the whole the whole point I guess that I'm trying to make is that like I I would have liked to see quite a few more Christmas songs go farther in the Glackett because those episodes are so great to me. At least season two and season threes and four and five are cute but not I don't like them as much. But yeah I really do like the Christmas numbers. All to say with this one I never really gave it a lot of attention but watching it just now I really do like it. I love the three of them together. There's a lot of great stuff going on and so all I'm gonna say is I know a lot of people don't agree but like I would write a love letter to the Glee Christmas songs on the Glackett because I really do feel like a lot of them got cut a little short just because they're Christmas songs. And though I have a feeling how I'm gonna vote in this competition this was a lovely number and I'm sorry Matt that I got pulled against one that potentially me and Andrew like more.
[2:00:03] Patrick: Potentially. I know this isn't going to be a very high number by any means but I can think of three off the top my head three Christmas songs that are going to round three. They include Last Christmas, Christmas Wrapping, and Baby It's Cold Outside. Am I missing any Matt?
[2:00:15] Matt: Last Christmas, Baby It's Cold Outside. And Christmas Wrapping?
[2:00:19] Patrick: Christmas Wrapping and My Favorite Things. Oh which I've put through too much of people's dismay. So yeah two from season two two from season three but season four is gone and season five is about to be gone. Thank you for looking this up Matt. I really appreciate that you have this pulled up right now. Look I do this on Diary Room so I just like to have the stats ready. Do you have two monitors?
[2:00:38] Matt: I do.
[2:00:38] Patrick: Okay that helps. Yeah. I like the Christmas songs. Andrew what do you think about this one?
[2:00:54] Andrew: Oh I just I really love it. I think it will just like forever have a like a very sentimental place in my heart. This and You Can't Touch This. So sentimental that we should send it through to the next round and let the legacy of this first matchup that means so much to Gleek of the Week. The first ever podcast back all the way in 2021. I know that was that was two apartments ago. Two apartments ago. Elias who I think back then? No he was there. He was there. Okay yeah. My Andrew Lord my Gleek of the Week Lord not so aligned. No that's okay. So look we just we really should let it go through to the next round and keep it alive. But for how long Matt? Next round. Next round is the end. Okay when it's not against a Lindsay Pierce song.
[2:01:47] Matt: Yes no honestly I would I would keep it going longer. I really really like it. The three of them are just bring me so much joy and they're they're like having so much joy. Look at that they're just dancing around singing Christmas songs with some candy canes.
[2:02:07] Andrew: I mean Horny on Main. Speaking of Horny on Main Rachel's hair. End of sentence. You know how people are like obsessed with Miley Cyrus's hair but in the Party in the USA video. Rachel has so many good hair moments in Gleek. Season four is a good hair season for Rachel. It makes me blush. I love Rachel, Loki and Santana. And you know Kurt was doing this thing he was rolling around on the floor. Yeah. Doing his kick thing. We do love that. I like the I like that they're committing to the bit of having a like a like a little children's piano and it sounds like a little children's. I don't know anything about music but baby that sounded like a children's piano to me.
[2:02:57] Matt: Yeah.
[2:02:57] Andrew: Adam Anders coming out. Adam Anders what was the. He's gonna be like what we did this song. Yeah why do I feel like there's weirdly like why do I feel like there's a legal note on Glee wiki for Here Comes Santa Claus that his children are in this performance. Let me look this up. That'd be such a strange thing to feel like is a legal note and yeah. If that's true maybe I'll vote for this song. Wait let me go make an account on Glee wiki. Okay we're waiting. You don't have an account on Glee wiki. All right well. Coming from the person who's like the season five hook.
[2:03:32] Patrick: Wait I don't think it has a trivia section. This song doesn't even have a trivia section on Glee wiki so no. They're trying to silence Here Comes Santa Claus and we won't stand for it. We have to send it through to the next round and figure it out then. Do you know what do you know what performance Adam and Nikki Anders children are in though? I do know this for a fact. Is it Daydream Believer? It is Daydream. I mean there's no there's. I was like where are the kids? Where else would the children exist? How many kids? Yeah. Oh they they attend the Harvey Milk School.
[2:04:06] Patrick: Yeah that's a really. The Harvey Milk School of the Arts.
[2:04:13] Andrew: Oh god I forgot that that was the name of the school. That is so good. No like when when I saw that like live I was like oh god. You're joking. I was like you're joking. Yeah liberals have gone crazy. I was like what? This is what my taxpayer dollars are going toward. Okay wait so I just want everyone to know I'm being sarcastic. I'm okay with there being a fictional Harvey Milk School of the Arts just for the record. I just I don't want anything anyone to think I'm being serious. Okay so are we ready to vote? Do we have anything further to say about either of these songs?
[2:05:04] Matt: I just think that Gleek of the Week is such an important podcast to all of us and the history of the podcast it means so much. And that's my final thought.
[2:05:13] Andrew: It's beautiful. I genuinely it brought us together. Brought all of us together. We wouldn't be here if not for Here Comes Santa Claus versus You Can't Touch This. It's true. That was the only song that could have possibly filled that slot. Andrew like what like were you feeling when you pulled like two or three Christmas songs in the first episode?
[2:05:31] Matt: Well I remember like convincing myself. I was like well there's a lot of Christmas songs. There are so like this does make sense. But like looking back I'm like no that was that was genuinely insane that there was like 10 Christmas songs in the first like five episodes or something like that statistically shouldn't happen. It was I remember it was crazy. I also remember like I think I started listening after episode three or four. My friend um just sent me a link and he was like I'm listening to this podcast I'm bored during post COVID whatever you should listen and then like I would I would go on walks a lot like during 2020 2021. They would have to be short walks with those episodes. I just would re-listen to like all the episodes.
I probably listened to the first episode like three or four times just because like I would like re-listen to them because I was like so excited about the concept and I'm so happy that like I get to be on the podcast every so often. When I was first listening to those episodes I was like oh I want to talk about these. I remember I went and now I am. I saw I recently I saw your initial email of like hi this is my application. It was like very cute.
[2:06:41] Patrick: Yeah I was like I was like I like Glee. You bragged that you had a connection to Eileen from Glee Project season two Glee Project mention again. She was in a high school class with me um so that was fun. Is that enough sentimental points for you to vote in the same favor as Matt?
[2:07:00] Andrew: Oh there's a lot of sentiment like I
[2:07:05] Andrew: I don't... You know, and this one kind of qualifies for being horny on me. Here comes Santa Claus. Come on. No, I'm talking about horny on me. I just said Rachel's hair was hot.
[2:07:14] Matt: Oh, I'm not looking at my hair, but okay. That didn't really do it for me. I really... I don't know what I'm gonna do when we don't have this podcast.
[2:07:25] Andrew: Re-listen. I guess. Keep the numbers up. Also, every time I'm on, I ask, how long is this going to go and you still don't have an answer, which is so funny to me.
[2:07:34] Pat: Do you?
[2:07:37] Andrew: No. Would you like to know today the day you're gonna die?
[2:07:40] Pat: No. I'm scared. I'm serious. I can't believe in science.
[2:07:44] Matt: Does... Nobody wants to vote here. What happened to voting?
[2:07:49] Andrew: Oh, please. My vote is on the wall right here. It says, here comes Santa Claus.
[2:07:53] Matt: Oh, that... Oh, that's weird. I was wondering.
[2:07:55] Pat: Wait, Andrew, maybe you vote, because like, maybe like...
[2:07:59] Andrew: Oh, OK, then I'll do that. As tempting as it is for me to vote for Here Comes Santa Claus, I simply can't.
[2:08:07] Andrew: I have to vote for anything goes, anything you can do. Stand my ground.
[2:08:11] Andrew: That performance means so much to me. And Here Comes Santa Claus. Yes, it has the Glackett history, the Glistory behind it, helping it.
[2:08:20] Andrew: But like, when you look at like all the songs that are in round three, it's like, Here Comes Santa Claus being in there, I just feel weird about when there's so many...

[2:27:30] Andrew: I can leave.

[2:33:58] Matt: I have so much to say specifically about Dot Marie Jones, Matthew Morrison, and Jane Lynch.
[2:34:08] Andrew: Oh, nothing for Porter River Street. Being told that they're going to sing a song by Ariana Grande is so insane.
[2:34:15] Matt: It just really, really fucks with my head in such a way that like, I will never be the same.
[2:34:23] Andrew: Yeah. Knowing that Dot Marie Jones specifically was told, you will be singing Break Free by Ariana Grande.
[2:34:32] Pat: As a trans man.
[2:34:34] Andrew: Like, if you tell her that in like, season two, she'd be like, wow, we're really taking my character on a ride. I can't wait to see how we get there.
[2:34:40] Pat: But I love this song.
[2:34:46] Andrew: I also, we were talking about the Dot Marie Jones trans storyline, or the Coach Beast rather story, trans storyline. And someone was talking about yesterday and how like, despite all the craziness that was season six, like, I think that they did that storyline like, enough justice.
[2:35:05] Matt: You're okay with that?
[2:35:06] Andrew: Yeah, I am. And like, I liked that. As Sheldon, they had Coach Beast, like, participate in numbers.
[2:35:18] Andrew: This number, because of that, like I love that Coach Beast was in it. I like that you like that. I have a headcanon that, I don't know if I have anything to support it, but okay, so this is what we know is that at the hundredth episode party, Ryan Murphy went up to Dot Marie Jones and said, "I have something thrilling for you to do next season." And Dot Marie Jones, who was only recurring up until that point, was like, "Ryan, you know what? If you're gonna have me do something crazy, you're gonna make me main cast." And Ryan Murphy was like, "This is the headcanon part." So no, this is the part that we know. Oh, yeah, this is the part where I indeed break free. I knew that Ryan talked to her about that at the party.
I didn't know that then said, "Well then where's the main cast? Where's the main cast? I need this." This is factual. I'll let you know when we get to, oh, okay. This is the part. This is the part where I break free from the, yeah, reality into what my headcanon is. So my interpretation of what happened here is that Ryan Murphy was like, "Dot Marie Jones, you put me in a corner and made you main billing, and your punishment will be singing 'Break Free.'" You know, like, "If you want to be main cast so much, you're gonna have to sing, baby, and it's gonna have to be 'Break Free' by Ariana Grande." That's what I feel went down.
[2:36:50] Matt: Crazy to call an Ariana Grande song a punishment for anyone, but I'm just okay.
[2:36:57] Andrew: Can we all just be adult Gleeks right now and just be like, um, Dot Marie Jones singing an Ariana Grande song is really, really crazy.
[2:37:07] Pat: Yeah, have we seen the latest Dot Marie Jones commercial that's out there? The Tina Fey one?
[2:37:15] Andrew: Yes, because I only because, I mean, the booking.com commercials have been out for a while now, but I don't know if this is a newer one of it or if I've just never looked at the screen when it was on to see Dot Marie Jones in the commercial, but I saw her recently and I was like, "That is Coach Beast in a tree. Like, hello, pumpkin Tina Fey."
[2:37:38] Matt: Okay, this song. Wait, my biggest complaint of season six, honestly, is that like we are running so much out of time, but they were like, "We got to do the pop bangers of today." Okay, like why? I mean, like "Town Phone," right? They did this. They did a problem, right? Like "All About That Bass," right? Like, why must we do that? To me though, is it kind of fun? Because it's like a time capsule of like when I was in college for sure. Like I look back and like I love a lot of those pop era songs, yet I was just kind of like, "Why? Why did we need to squeeze this one in? Could we have done anything else?" But I do like, ironically, like I enjoy this performance for sure. I think I would need the MP4 to like really enjoy it. I definitely wouldn't like stream this willingly.
[2:38:34] Andrew: You'll all have to remind me though because I've never seen the show. I know that Sue had to like sing in it because she was like sucking up to the superintendent.
[2:38:45] Pat: Yeah, who like broke his back in Breaking Bad or whatever?
[2:38:48] Andrew: Same actor.
[2:38:51] Matt: Oh, no, okay.
[2:38:54] Andrew: Yeah, the guy who plays the superintendent played like a minor character that like, did he break his back IRL?
[2:39:00] Pat: Yeah, no, like he like in Breaking Bad, the Glee-Breaking Bad diagram is in a circle.
[2:39:09] Andrew: Crazy. Is that the only connection between Glee and Breaking Bad?
[2:39:16] Pat: No, he was having an affair with Walter White, who's the main character's wife, and he like slipped and like fell and broke his back, so then like they had to give him money. It was a big plot point. Anyway, sorry, I thought we all had seen one of the greatest TV shows of all time. I'm not talking about Glee this time.
[2:39:32] Andrew: But I, anyway, Sue is like closing up to him or whatever because she's like sucking up because she wants to get a better job or whatever.
[2:39:39] Matt: Yeah.
[2:39:42] Andrew: So she was forced to be in the number, but like why is there like so much sexual tension between Will and Sue in this number?
[2:39:49] Pat: I mean, I think that is that not every number?
[2:39:55] Andrew: I know, but like why? What is the typical audience viewer supposed to think?
[2:40:05] Matt: That's a very good point that dumb, the dumb watcher at home.
[2:40:08] Andrew: Yeah, because you also have them kind of paralleled with Rachel and Sam who also have that vibe going at the moment. So, mm-hmm. There's a lot happening here. I stand Sam and Joe. Sometimes I stand them for the vocals, if nothing else. They are a good duo vocally.
[2:40:24] Pat: Agreed. I don't really have a nuanced opinion because we got rid of all the Sam and Joe duets.

But anyhow, I don't know have much else to say about this number other than can someone explain to me why Will and Sue had so much sexual tension?

[2:43:05] Pat: Even if like just for the—
[2:43:09] Matt: I did think that it was fun. He must, yeah, he revealed this in an episode of his podcast. I feel like it was like when he was like talking to Becca and Jacob that he revealed that like he talks—he has like an hour and a half long phone call conversation with Ryan Murphy like once a year. And I'm like, "Oh, if I could dial in to any phone call, that would be the one. I need to know."
[2:43:28] Andrew: Yeah, what did they talk about?
[2:43:35] Matt: They do a little catch-up, but they—

[2:44:22] Andrew: So I was not watching Jesse much at all ever.
[2:44:27] Pat: No, but yeah, there was a video that went all around any one summer and I watched a lot of Jesse and I'm invested.
[2:44:32] Andrew: What is the Indian boy's name?
[2:44:35] Pat: Like the actor?
[2:44:38] Andrew: Either actor or character.
[2:44:38] Pat: Karan Brar is the actor and then like Ravi's the character.
[2:44:42] Andrew: So Josie Totah posted a TikTok, I believe like last week, and they were kissing and then like news outlets went like really crazy and were like, "Oh my god, they're officially in a relationship." And then like maybe like an hour or two later, Josie Totah was like, "Um, just kidding. That was all a joke." I was like, "Okay, you got us good, but like what was that for a joke?"
[2:45:10] Matt: Haven't you ever heard a joke? I don't kiss my friends and like post it online as a joke. That feels weird.
[2:45:21] Andrew: You should try it at your next party.
[2:45:29] Matt: Yeah, and that's why we're not gonna vote "Break Free" through.
[2:45:31] Pat: Speak for yourself.
[2:45:34] Matt: I think we're—
[2:45:39] Andrew: Come to our parties. You never come to our parties. Um, Matt, is that you locking in a vote?
[2:45:47] Matt: If I do it, it's for the gag. It's for the bit of me being oh for three in this episode and for the fact that I really do have no emotional attachment to "Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy."
[2:46:04] Pat: Do you have an emotional attachment to "Break Free"?
[2:46:10] Matt: No, but so the thing is that I know "Get Happy" is going through myself, and "Break Free" is kind of fun. I wish more songs from season six were going through, but as I scroll on this beautiful document here from Amelia, there's so much red of numbers from season six, and I would love to see more have a chance. So because it doesn't matter, let me go over three and vote for "Break Free."
[2:46:35] Andrew: And wait, is this like you starting your like Joker plot where it's like, "Well, the other two holes—"
[2:46:42] Matt: The other two matchups were not that.
[2:46:45] Andrew: But next time you're on the podcast, I got back listening intent. Maybe like, "Is he okay?"
[2:46:52] Matt: Well, the funny part is this is gonna be my last time allowed on the podcast.
[2:46:57] Andrew: No, you're voting. Is it primarily because of the season six representation?
[2:47:04] Matt: It's a combination of that, plus it's funny that I am on the minority of every—I like that. I'd like to be honest. Ironically, if this wasn't going up against like a power player for me, like I think "Break Free" deserves to be in round two. And like, I don't know, I think "Break Free" deserves to be in round two. And like honestly, like I could see an argument for it to be in round three. Like if it was like pulled against "Sandra Dee," like "Break Free" would probably win what I would go through.
[2:47:35] Andrew: Yeah, I feel like there's no hate toward "Break Free." But yeah, I mean, I haven't been on the podcast too many times where like I've had this pattern where like the first song of the competition is pulled and I'm like, "Hearts racing. I'm so excited," like one of my favorites. And then like the next one that's pulled, it's kind of like an automatic easy, like I know where this is gonna go. So, I mean, apologies to Matt just to point out "Break Free" is one vote away from going through and either of you have the power.
[2:48:09] Pat: Well, then maybe I'll lock in my vote and say that the Kurt and Rachel duet is going through for me, "Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy."
[2:48:21] Andrew: We love it.
[2:48:21] Matt: What was "Get Happy"?
[2:48:26] Andrew: "Get Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy."
[2:48:30] Matt: Um, so yeah, that's my vote, Andrew. I don't know. You're the tiebreaker. What's it gonna be? I know, nail-biter. Everyone's freaking out and they're like, "Oh my god, what is he gonna vote for?" Oh no, it could really go either way. I will say "Break Free" did—I was like, "That was good." And if it was against, you know, Sandra Dee or, you know, maybe even like, yeah, or "Mercy," two songs that I really are like "Paradise," it's all coming back to me now. Whoa, um, yeah, I think that "Break Free" could potentially go through.
[2:49:00] Matt: "Break Free," you were cuter than I recall, and you're invited to my next party.
[2:49:10] Andrew: But is it a birthday party for a child named Myron? Is it that party? A bar mitzvah, even? It's fun. Uh-huh. Um, we watch the show. Yeah.
[2:49:24] Pat: It's a bar mitzvah.
[2:49:25] Andrew: Okay, um, but yeah, no, I got out of over happy days are here again, get happy. I can't wait to see what this song does in the GLEK because I feel like in many ways that's also a dark horse. Not being invited to many parties. One thing I guess I didn't say about Break Free that I like a lot is I, I was very fortunate. I know that maybe a lot of people listening, I don't know if people in the chat feel this way. I, I had a really good high school experience. I know I'm very lucky to say that. And I was friends with a lot of people like in grades below me, I feel like I was like close with a lot of the teachers. Like the idea of like coming back to my high school, like a year or two after I graduated, and then just like getting a random ass group of people to like, put on a performance like that would have been so fun to me.
I would have been like, I love that I'm here. I love that the gym teacher, the band teacher, and like, like people from my grade and people from like a grade, a few grades below me, we have to put on this performance to like the superintendents. No pressure. I just feel like it would be hilarious. I'd be like, I, I'm bored. I'm unemployed. I'm in between going to school and getting a job. Like I'll do a little performance with some randos from my high school community. Like I, I definitely like that would be very fun to me. But I know a lot of people are like, I never want to set foot in high school again. And I literally am like, I'm like helping out like my high school with like clubs and stuff right now.
So. The Glee Club? Call me. Not the Glee Club. I'm helping them with a business club right now. I'm sure all the. It's like the opposite of Glee Club. All the 16 year olds are definitely two and a half hours in. Oh, are we at three hours almost? I'm close. I'm sure that they're all listening and they're going to be like, he mentioned us in the pod. Get happy. Happy, happy, happy. Yeah, that is my last take, but yeah. So it's, it's going through three for three for me. Zero for three for Matt. I'm sorry. Three for three for me as well. Not my day. I will also say for Break Free, I watched 24 Karat Christmas on the Oprah network over the holiday season, starring one Samantha Marie Ware. And I thought it was very, it was very good.
Like, honestly, you know, a lot of those, uh, those, uh, holiday Hallmark Christmas movies, especially shout out when there's a Glee cast member in it makes it doubly fun. Um, but I thought it was fun with this one in particular that her love interest was named Mason. Really? Uh-huh. I was like, oh, that's what you, that's what you should have said. Why didn't you call me when you made that connection? It is, um, um, wait, what did the Mason Jane? Yeah. Will you love me tomorrow? Head of her feet is still in. That's what I should have manifested today. Cause I would have loved to not only get a vote on my side today, but I send that one through. I really do like it because you didn't go through the practice of manifesting anything, but like, that's why it wasn't your day or learn from me, learn from me, uh, everybody you have to put it out there.
I like lit my Glee candles last night and I said a little prayer. Yeah. Andrew lit a candle before this, but it turns out that that was the scent of like anti-Matt. I wanted it to be easy today. And like, I'm kind of glad because I thought like with last week being like really weird vibes with a bunch of like stinkers that I was like, oh, we're due for a bad one, a bad episode. No, it was bad for you, Matt, but not for me, bad for me. Um, and you know, bad for me in the sense that like, please everybody be aware that I'm joking. Um, but no Joker, my Joker origin story starts now. I really still, I feel like I haven't really had any like crazy hard numbers, uh, or competitions. You literally weren't you there for Songbird versus Never Can Say Goodbye?
That was a really sad one, but it was really obvious to all of us, which one was going to die right away. Like the second Songbird was pulled, we were all like, okay, that's going to go through. Like there hasn't been one where like, it's been like a ton of deliberation. I don't know if I've had one of those either, honestly, which like, I, I'm always, I am just thinking of like the Eating Claudia episode. That was such a good episode that had like really tough numbers. And I'm like, I know it was probably like exhausting and heartbreaking, but I think if we're in the spirit of manifesting, if I'm ever allowed back on this goddamn glad cast, I do want like a hard one, like one that like, I don't know the answer to.
And I really have to like think about, cause most of the time, like when the second song's pulled, I'm like, I know what I want, you know? So I did appreciate, I was going to say maybe the hardest matchup that I've had so far is in the first episode that Aman and I ever did years ago and Be Okay versus Loser Like Me, I feel like was tough to decide. But I did appreciate recently, Andrew, you coming to bat for Be Okay when it was, I got it twice. I've had Be Okay. Is it still alive? I really, really liked that one. I better be there in round three when she comes up again. Cause I'll just keep pushing it right on through. Matt, weren't you advocating for like, like the cups to be like, nobody gets the same.
Yeah. Like you can't have like, yeah, no, but I do think that'd be fun. If in round three, the only songs that could come up in any given episode or songs that you have not gotten before, that'll be tough for Connor, but for the rest of us, I think it could be a worthwhile project.
[2:55:02] Matt Liguori: Yeah. I'm considering it for sure. But then I do get scared because like toward the end, it's like, I don't know. It feels like too. I would like the, I know I haven't maybe had that happen to me yet, but like the idea of getting another song that I've done, like if I liked it, like I would gladly get Human Nature again. So it sees round four. Yeah. I might be a little too much work and like a little messy, but it was a, it's not like the work part that like, because I don't think that would be no big thing to do. I just feel like then it's, it's like, it is almost like rigging it at like a, such a scale that feels not doesn't sit right with me for some reason, you know? I mean, it's not rigging it.
You're, you're just limiting the pool of what can come up based on total randomness of what's already happened to that point. Yeah. I know that like some people have been advocating for there to be two cups and a future round where it's like it just for the sake of like knowing that these competitions can't happen and nothing beyond that. Like it's like they aren't, you know, selected in any way, like each for each cup, the songs, but like, well, it's not like a true bracket would work. Right. But like, I, I don't know. I like this concept more. It's more random and crazy as well. Time to figure it out. I know, I know I'll have a Andrew, you need to think more about this podcast and think about I not doing it enough.
Um, should I recap this episode? Yeah. Um, can I say no? No, let me know. Um, human nature, it's human. It's only human natural that this scene is round three. Is that it? That's good enough for me. That's a passing grade. It's passing. It's not a plus. It's not a failure either. Um, uh, gosh, uh, centerfold hot in here. Oh, it's hot in here. Sorry. No, that's it. That's, that's exactly it. Um, uh, anything goes to round three, anything you can do, I can do better in round three. Good, good. Um, oh God, here comes Santa Claus to hell. Um, oh, I got it. Um, get happy because happy days are here again in round three. Yay. Um, and, and this is the part when I break free from the glacket and go to hell.
Um, but at least you're stronger than you've been before. The funny thing is that like you, you like use that bit every time, but I laugh out loud. It's really good. Uh, if, if merch comes out with, uh, people want to walk around with it, with anything that says, wait, is, is Gleek of the Week merch still available? I mean, that's a good point. I don't buy merch, but, uh, I need to get a mug. I need to Gleek of the Week mug. I've been like meaning to like make new merch and it's the easiest thing in the world because I could just make the design. Like Gleek of the Week on the, on the side of the mug, like as normal. And then the bottom of the mug should be like, in hell. Oh, okay. So it's just like in hell.
Okay. I was wondering how that would work. Um, okay. And then you like show it to someone who comes over. They're like, hell. In hell. Um, well, merch store is still open. The designs haven't been updated in a few years and I do have design ideas that I mean to put up there, but I just haven't. Um, anyway, thank you so much, Matt and Patrick, for joining me for another long episode of this podcast. Um, Matt, where can people find you and The Diary Room?
[3:00:06] Matt Liguori: The Diary Room is available anywhere you get your podcasts or on YouTube. Um, if you want to watch Aman and I try to do this exact same project, but instead of Glee songs, if you're a fan of reality television, specifically Big Brother, we're trying to find the best Big Brother player of all time across all North American versions of the show. So a couple, a couple of shows in that, and it's been fun. Um, we have been, uh, in a really good string of guests lately, um, all the way through, honestly, so far. So it's been fun. And also I podcast about reality television, such as The Challenge, The Traitors, uh, which even when this episode comes out, should still be going. Um, so, um, check that out on the Free Agents Podcast if you're interested in that.
Um, and otherwise complaining here when things don't go my way the next time Andrew invites me on. Um, you know, I forgot the first matchup. I mean, I did want Human Nature to go through, um, and probably the last matchup, you know, I would have voted that way if it mattered. Um, but look, I'm just gonna, uh, complain anyway. No, I'm just kidding. Um, that's where you can find me. And, um, I'm on Blue Sky or Twitter at Matt Liguori, if you want to, uh, sympathize with me for what happened today.
[3:00:43] Patrick Salmon: Um, I'm only on the gram, um, Patty Salmon. Uh, I always like chatting with the Gleeks. Hopefully if I get any DMs, people are like, Patrick, I completely agree with all of your takes. If you disagree, then follow Matt on Blue Sky. Um, but yeah, no, I mean, it's, it's so fun. Like I, I try to comment and interact to a degree on the Patreon and, um, on the posts and stuff. So it's just fun being part of Gleek of the Week community. And it's always really nice that you have me on, Andrew. I love the pod. Um, and I was really looking forward to this today because I was kind of in a rotten mood today and some of the past few days, and I was really looking forward to this. So I know it's kind of late, especially for y'all on the East Coast. Um, but it was so fun. So thanks for having me on. Love this podcast and the Gleeks.
[3:01:40] Andrew: It's so much fun. I wanted to have you on. Just tell us when it's going to end.
[3:01:42] Patrick Salmon: Just tell me when this is going to end. Tell me when, tell me when I'm going to die. Um, uh, I wanted to have you on. I'm like doing this because there is only a few episodes left of round two. And so I'm like planning accordingly. I have like all but the last episode booked. Um, I want to do something special for the last episode around two, but what I'm doing up until that point is to make sure I have, um, you know, the regulars, including y'all on one last time in round two before we, uh, before we end around three.
[3:02:15] Matt Liguori: Go to round three. Okay. Well, you can have me on with, um, Matthew Morrison and, uh, Jane Lynch and I'm going to do investigative journalism. I gotta be like, do you text? Happy birthday once a year, please.
[3:02:27] Patrick Salmon: The only episode I'm claiming is Jacob Artist. Do you know that?
[3:02:30] Matt Liguori: Um, there are, there are gay men that are, um, campaigning for that slot, Matt. So stay in line.
[3:02:38] Patrick Salmon: Do I not qualify?
[3:02:40] Matt Liguori: No, you absolutely do qualify. Yeah. Um, but they're there. You're not the only one is what I'm saying. I don't know how, um, but also I think it would be really weird to be horny at him. Um, Jacob Artist, do you know what horny on name is?
[3:02:57] Andrew: Oh, he knows. Um, uh, okay. And with that, thank you so much for listening. As always, you know what to do. You can go to patreon.com slash glue pod for those. We have one more live stream, um, episode of round two and spoiler alert, it's with Alison Dodge. And so that'd be very fun. So, uh, go to patron to attend that and also vote for the songs that come on back. Otherwise, catch you next week. Okay. Bye.
[3:03:29] Andrew: It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.
