[0:01] Amy Daniels: Kitten and Clucky are two best friends.

[0:08] Amy Daniels: Trying to make sense of the world around them.

[0:12] Amy Daniels: Adventures and discoveries around every bend.

[0:17] Amy Daniels: Come along and explore with them.

[0:23] Amy Daniels: Meow. What are you up to, Clucky?

[0:30] Amy Daniels: Oh, hey, Kitten. You finally finished your cat nap, I see.

[0:34] Amy Daniels: Yes, there's nothing like stretching out in a warm patch of sunshine and dozing off.

[0:41] Amy Daniels: Unfortunately, my sunbeam moved, and so I decided it was time for me to move as well.

[0:49] Amy Daniels: Did you just finish a taekwondo workout? Is that your second workout today?

[0:56] Amy Daniels: Yes, I did, and yes, it was.

[0:59] Amy Daniels: What's with the fitness craze?

[1:02] Amy Daniels: Well, today is Xander's birthday, and last year Maddox brought us all special birthday treats.

[1:08] Amy Daniels: They were super delicious. She made the hens and I each a mealworm and corn cake.

[1:14] Amy Daniels: Mm-mm-mm. We got lots of party leftovers, too, like pizza and cake over the next few days.

[1:22] Amy Daniels: Oh, so yummy.

[1:25] Amy Daniels: I may have overindulged a bit, and I was not the beacon of fitness you see before you.

[1:31] Amy Daniels: So this year, I'm getting some extra workouts in so I can eat a bit more.

[1:36] Amy Daniels: Meow, really? Clucky, you're a rooster. It's okay if you have a little extra fat on you.

[1:44] Amy Daniels: Oh, no, Kitten. My body is a temple and I must take care of it.

[1:50] Amy Daniels: This is the only one I get. Plus, I need to be in tip-top shape to guard the perimeter.

[1:56] Amy Daniels: Okay, Clucky. Meow.

[2:00] Amy Daniels: Tell me more about this birthday. What is that?

[2:04] Amy Daniels: Bark, bark, bark, bark. You don't know what a birthday is?

[2:08] Amy Daniels: Meow, nope. I'm not even six months old yet. There's a lot of things I don't know.

[2:14] Amy Daniels: Yeah, but you read all the time with Maddox. I just thought you'd know what a birthday is.

[2:19] Amy Daniels: I do read a lot with Maddox, but I don't recall any mention of something called a birthday.

[2:24] Amy Daniels: What is a birthday? Please tell me I need to know.

[2:33] Amy Daniels: What is a birthday? I certainly want to know.

[2:37] Amy Daniels: Oh, fun, a song. I love songs. Well, everybody's got one. Even you and me.

[2:46] Amy Daniels: Oh, I have one too? Oh, yeah.

[2:50] Amy Daniels: A birthday is a special day to celebrate the birth of you.

[2:55] Amy Daniels: The world is full of creatures great and small, but there's never been one like you at all.

[3:03] Amy Daniels: No one has your thoughts and feelings, no one sees the way you do.

[3:08] Amy Daniels: You alone are unique in all that you do.

[3:14] Amy Daniels: So a birthday is a special day to celebrate your birth?

[3:19] Amy Daniels: Because you're the only one of you on Earth?

[3:22] Amy Daniels: Now you're getting it.

[3:25] Amy Daniels: At a birthday party, friends all come by.

[3:29] Amy Daniels: They wish you well for next year and they light a cake on fire.

[3:34] Amy Daniels: What? Wait, what? Flaming cake? Oh, yeah.

[3:40] Amy Daniels: Oh, man, is the song over? I feel like we need to discuss some safety issues here.

[3:45] Amy Daniels: There's no safety issue.

[3:47] Amy Daniels: They light the cake and sing a song and then the birthday hero saves the cake with a mighty blow of air.

[3:53] Amy Daniels: Then usually the mom person cuts up the cake and everybody gets a piece.

[3:57] Amy Daniels: There's always lots to share.

[3:59] Amy Daniels: Wow, this is so exciting.

[4:02] Amy Daniels: When do the festivities begin?

[4:04] Amy Daniels: Haven't you noticed all the preparations this morning?

[4:07] Amy Daniels: Well, now that you mention it, Maddox has been very busy this morning.

[4:12] Amy Daniels: But I was also napping, so I didn't really notice.

[4:15] Amy Daniels: Oh, right, you and your cat naps.

[4:18] Amy Daniels: Well, there has been lots of action happening around the house.

[4:21] Amy Daniels: The mom person has been busy decorating the cake.

[4:24] Amy Daniels: This year it's shaped like the space shuttle Atlantis.

[4:27] Amy Daniels: Xander loves space exploration.

[4:29] Amy Daniels: We have looked at lots of books about space.

[4:32] Amy Daniels: He even got to take a field trip to the Kennedy Space Center and was able to see full-size rockets and shuttles.

[4:38] Amy Daniels: Oh, I wish I could have been along on that one.

[4:41] Amy Daniels: Oh, yeah, that's where they launch the rockets, satellites, and make the trail of fire in the sky.

[4:46] Amy Daniels: Yeah!

[4:48] Amy Daniels: Maddox, Xander, and the dad person have also been using the tube that spits water to fill up these colorful stretchy balls in these big buckets with holes in the side.

[4:57] Amy Daniels: I'm not sure what that's all about.

[4:59] Amy Daniels: Look, over there is one of the holy buckets full of them.

[5:02] Amy Daniels: Oh, I see.

[5:04] Amy Daniels: I wonder what that will be.

[5:06] Amy Daniels: Maybe it's a game.

[5:08] Amy Daniels: Oh, maybe we should take a closer look.

[5:12] Amy Daniels: Oh, guests are starting to arrive.

[5:14] Amy Daniels: Come on, let's go to the fence and take a closer look.

[5:17] Amy Daniels: Oh, I do love new people.

[5:20] Amy Daniels: Huh? Huh?

[5:22] Amy Daniels: Jump. Spread the wings.

[5:25] Amy Daniels: Oh, Clucky, I am so glad you are here.

[5:28] Amy Daniels: Do you know what these strange colorful things are in the holy bucket?

[5:31] Amy Daniels: Why does the bucket have holes?

[5:33] Amy Daniels: Do you think they are dangerous?

[5:35] Amy Daniels: Hello, ladies.

[5:37] Amy Daniels: Now no one get their feathers ruffled.

[5:39] Amy Daniels: Kitten and I are here to investigate.

[5:41] Amy Daniels: We will get to the bottom of this.

[5:43] Amy Daniels: Oh, thank goodness.

[5:44] Amy Daniels: I was starting to get nervous.

[5:46] Amy Daniels: I'm sure there's no need to worry, ladies.

[5:49] Amy Daniels: You are much braver than me, Kitten.

[5:51] Amy Daniels: I just can't get my courage up to get any closer to it.

[5:54] Amy Daniels: But, Bridget, what if it's something amazing and fun?

[5:57] Amy Daniels: What if it is something scary and dangerous?

[6:00] Amy Daniels: Oh, ladies, come on.

[6:02] Amy Daniels: Don't you remember today is Xander's birthday?

[6:05] Amy Daniels: It's the special day where he saves the cake from fire and everyone sings and is happy.

[6:10] Amy Daniels: Don't you remember all the yummy food from last year?

[6:14] Amy Daniels: Oh, is it that day already?

[6:16] Amy Daniels: I love that day.

[6:18] Amy Daniels: Yes, I just found out about these fantastic things called birthdays.

[6:22] Amy Daniels: It does sound incredible.

[6:24] Amy Daniels: Well, I do feel a little less fearful now, but I would feel better if you did investigate it a little further so we are sure.

[6:31] Amy Daniels: No problemo. Es nada.

[6:33] Amy Daniels: I learned that from Estella.

[6:35] Amy Daniels: My Spanish is improving already.

[6:37] Amy Daniels: Very nice, Clucky.

[6:39] Amy Daniels: Gracias.

[6:42] Amy Daniels: Okay, now Kitten and I will approach the holy buckets.

[6:46] Amy Daniels: Be careful.

[6:48] Amy Daniels: Not to worry. Kitten has my back.

[6:52] Amy Daniels: Well, Clucky, the colorful balls are just sitting in the bucket.

[6:55] Amy Daniels: They're not moving.

[6:58] Amy Daniels: And when I push on them with my paw, it just squishes a little, no matter which color I touch.

[7:06] Amy Daniels: Squishy balls.

[7:09] Amy Daniels: I wonder what would happen if I pecked one.

[7:12] Amy Daniels: Do you think you should?

[7:14] Amy Daniels: What if you anger it?

[7:16] Amy Daniels: They're all so colorful and happy looking.

[7:18] Amy Daniels: I'm sure one little peck won't hurt.

[7:21] Amy Daniels: Okay.

[7:24] Amy Daniels: I'm covered in water.

[7:26] Amy Daniels: I hate being wet.

[7:30] Amy Daniels: Kitten, it just exploded.

[7:32] Amy Daniels: I think I angered it.

[7:34] Amy Daniels: Oh, my beautiful fur.

[7:36] Amy Daniels: I am soaked.

[7:38] Amy Daniels: It's going to take hours for me to dry.

[7:40] Amy Daniels: Well, I won't do that again.

[7:42] Amy Daniels: I am so sorry, squishy balls, that I angered you.

[7:46] Amy Daniels: I will not do it again.

[7:48] Amy Daniels: Come on, Clucky. Let's go tell the hens to stay away.

[7:51] Amy Daniels: Yeah.

[7:52] Amy Daniels: Oh, look. Here comes Xander and his family and friends.

[7:57] Amy Daniels: Stay away, Xander. The squishies are very explosive.

[8:00] Amy Daniels: Oh, hi, Clucky. I see you've discovered the water balloons.

[8:03] Amy Daniels: Do you want to join in on the fight?

[8:06] Amy Daniels: Meow fight?

[8:07] Amy Daniels: For my birthday, we're having a water balloon battle in the yard.

[8:11] Amy Daniels: Okay, everyone. Man your laundry baskets.

[8:14] Amy Daniels: Try not to hit the animals. Only people.

[8:16] Amy Daniels: Let the epic water balloon battle commence.

[8:19] Amy Daniels: Incoming!

[8:21] Amy Daniels: To the perch, Clucky. We must get out of the line of fire.

[8:25] Amy Daniels: Stop the little ooh, ladies.

[8:27] Amy Daniels: Run to the coop.

[8:29] Amy Daniels: To the perch.

[8:30] Amy Daniels: Incoming!

[8:32] Amy Daniels: Shoot.

[8:33] Amy Daniels: Oh, man. I'm out of water balloons.

[8:39] Amy Daniels: Kitten.

[8:40] Amy Daniels: Kitten.

[8:42] Amy Daniels: Will you please come down from the perch?

[8:44] Amy Daniels: The water balloon fight is over.

[8:46] Amy Daniels: Meow.

[8:47] Amy Daniels: I guess you really did not like that.

[8:49] Amy Daniels: I'm sorry, Kitten.

[8:50] Amy Daniels: I forgot how much you don't like water.

[8:53] Amy Daniels: Come on down, please.

[8:54] Amy Daniels: Meow.

[8:56] Amy Daniels: I brought you a special treat.

[8:57] Amy Daniels: I made you a little salmon cake.

[9:00] Amy Daniels: Meow?

[9:01] Amy Daniels: That's a girl.

[9:02] Amy Daniels: Is Clucky up there, too?

[9:04] Amy Daniels: I gave the hens their corn worm cakes, but I have one for Clucky, too.

[9:08] Amy Daniels: Quack, quack.

[9:09] Amy Daniels: Hi, Clucky.

[9:10] Amy Daniels: You two are going to come down?

[9:11] Amy Daniels: Quack, quack.

[9:12] Amy Daniels: Okay.

[9:13] Amy Daniels: Well, I'll leave these cakes here for you.

[9:22] Amy Daniels: Oh, my. That smells good.

[9:25] Amy Daniels: Do you think it's safe to go down?

[9:28] Amy Daniels: Well, it does seem that the water war is over.

[9:33] Amy Daniels: Oh, I do want my cake.

[9:35] Amy Daniels: I think we can risk it.

[9:37] Amy Daniels: It looks like the coast is clear.

[9:40] Amy Daniels: Huh? Huh?

[9:42] Amy Daniels: Jump. Spread the wings.

[9:48] Amy Daniels: Oh, my. This is delicious.

[9:51] Amy Daniels: It almost makes up for getting soaked.

[9:55] Amy Daniels: This is better than last year's cake.

[9:58] Amy Daniels: Maddox is a good cook.

[9:59] Amy Daniels: Quack, quack, quack.

[10:01] Amy Daniels: I hope next year they just keep delighting the cake on fire and skip the water battle.

[10:07] Amy Daniels: Agreed.
