[0:00] Kitten: Meow, meow and Clucky, bork, bork, are two best friends.
[0:07] Clucky: Trying to make sense of the world around them.
[0:12] Kitten: Adventures and discoveries around every bend.
[0:17] Clucky: Come along and explore with them.
[0:22] Kitten: Season 1, Episode 3. Class Pet.
[0:28] Clucky: Clucky, did you hear? Visitors are coming this weekend.
[0:32] Kitten: Oh yeah, that's not too unusual. People come over all the time.
[0:37] Clucky: Meow, no. It's not a human visitor. It's Maddox's class pet.
[0:43] Kitten: What am I going to do? Meow, meow. What if she...
[0:48] Kitten: What if she likes this new pet better than me?
[0:52] Kitten: Meow, meow, meow. Will she send me back to the pound?
[0:57] Kitten: Meow, I just got here. I can't go back. Do you know how awful it was there?
[1:03] Kitten: The cages were cold and there was constant noise and meow, meow, meow.
[1:08] Clucky: Bork, bork, bork, bork, bork. I thought you cats were supposed to be cool and calm.
[1:16] Clucky: You better calm down before you get a knot in your tail.
[1:20] Kitten: Meow, Clucky, this is no laughing matter. I just can't go back to the pound.
[1:28] Clucky: No kidding. We find ourselves in the rare situation that I am the voice of reason.
[1:36] Clucky: Take a few deep breaths. Breathe in, two, three, four, and hold, two, three, four.
[1:47] Clucky: Let it out, two, three, four, and hold, two, three, four. Now do that again.
[1:57] Clucky: In, two, three, four. Hold, two, three, four. Out, two, three, four. Hold, two, three, four.
[2:15] Clucky: Feel better?
[2:17] Kitten: Yes, I do. Thank you, Clucky, but I'm still worried.
[2:23] Clucky: Yeah, I get worried about that last hold, two, three, four. What if I forget to breathe?
[2:29] Kitten: What? Clucky, your body won't let you stop breathing, even if you hold your breath.
[2:36] Clucky: Breathing is an involuntary function.
[2:39] Kitten: An involuntary what, what? Bork, bork?
[2:42] Clucky: An involuntary function. It means your body just does it without you thinking about it or telling it to do it.
[2:49] Kitten: But I can control it, just like we did in the breathing exercise.
[2:54] Clucky: Yes, you can, but you don't need to most of the time.
[2:58] Kitten: True, but what if I'm holding my breath and I forget to tell my body that it's okay to breathe again?
[3:05] Clucky: Well, then you would pass out and your body would take over breathing for you again.
[3:11] Clucky: Your body is programmed to survive.
[3:13] Kitten: Oh, well, good. I'm not worried anymore.
[3:17] Clucky: I'm still worried.
[3:19] Kitten: Why? You just told me your body will remember to breathe.
[3:23] Clucky: You will survive. You will breathe again.
[3:32] Kitten: Meow. Wow, Clucky. I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about this new pet.
[3:40] Clucky: Oh, that. Bork, bork. What's got your tail in a twist?
[3:46] Kitten: Well, what if Maddox likes this other pet better than me?
[3:51] Clucky: Do you know what kind of pet it is?
[3:54] Kitten: I heard her say guinea pig, but I'm not sure what kind of animal that is.
[3:59] Clucky: Oh, guinea pigs are adorable.
[4:02] Clucky: They're small like you with short little legs and they're all furry.
[4:07] Clucky: You just want to pick them up and cuddle them.
[4:09] Clucky: Lydia next door has one and she brings him outside to the fence sometimes.
[4:13] Clucky: He's brown and black and white and his name is Picasso.
[4:17] Clucky: He's a real artsy type.
[4:20] Clucky: Not much into adventure, but a nice chap.
[4:24] Kitten: What? Clucky, that's the worst thing you could have said.
[4:29] Kitten: Meow, meow. Goodbye, nice soft bed. I'm a goner.
[4:36] Clucky: Kitten, just because Maddox is bringing home a friend doesn't mean you're going anywhere.
[4:42] Kitten: It doesn't?
[4:44] Clucky: No, look around you. The family has two beasts, meow, bork, bork.
[4:50] Clucky: I mean dogs.
[4:53] Clucky: Two hamsters, three hens, you and me.
[4:57] Clucky: Every time a new pet has come home, they've not gotten rid of any of the other ones.
[5:02] Clucky: They just expanded the family.
[5:04] Kitten: So you don't think Maddox will send me back to the pound?
[5:07] Clucky: Of course not. Once you're in this family, it's for life. It's like a scar.
[5:12] Clucky: Once it's on you, it ain't going away.
[5:15] Kitten: Hmm, are you sure?
[5:18] Clucky: Oh yeah, I cut my wing on the fence last year and I still have the mark.
[5:22] Kitten: Meow, I meant are you sure I'm not going to be sent away?
[5:27] Clucky: Of course I'm sure.
[5:29] Kitten: Clucky, what is a hamster?
[5:32] Clucky: You don't know what a hamster is?
[5:35] Clucky: Brock, what did they teach you in this pound?
[5:38] Kitten: Meow, they don't teach you anything in the pound.
[5:42] Kitten: You're just, you're just in a cold cage next to the other cats and dogs.
[5:47] Kitten: You get food and water and in the afternoon, people come walk through looking for animals to take home.
[5:54] Kitten: Sometimes one of the keepers of the keys will take you out and play with you with toys and give you pets and love.
[6:01] Kitten: But that doesn't happen every day because they're busy keeping everybody fed and watered.
[6:06] Clucky: I don't think I'd like the pound. It doesn't sound very fun or adventurous.
[6:11] Kitten: It was not, but it was much better than being lost in the woods without shelter and starving.
[6:18] Clucky: You were in the woods?
[6:20] Kitten: Oh my, that must have been terrifying knowing you could be dinner for a snake or a gator at any moment.
[6:27] Clucky: It was very scary, but until the other day I had no idea how much danger I was in.
[6:34] Clucky: I am so grateful for the trapper that found me and brought me to the pound.
[6:38] Kitten: But Clucky, you still haven't answered my question.
[6:41] Kitten: What is a hamster?
[6:43] Clucky: Oh, right. A hamster is a small fuzzy little animal with four paws.
[6:49] Clucky: It can fit in the palm of one of the human's paws. Brock, I mean hands.
[6:53] Clucky: Maddox and Xander each have one. They bring him out to visit every once in a while.
[6:57] Clucky: Brownie is sweet and he loves seeds. He is the biggest hamster I've ever seen.
[7:02] Clucky: But look out for Rubix. She is mean. She'll bite you as soon as look at you.
[7:08] Kitten: What? She bit Maddox? How dare she? If I ever meet her, I'm going to have words with her.
[7:18] Clucky: Calm your fur down. Maddox is fine and she cares about Rubix.
[7:23] Clucky: She would not be happy if you tried to eat her.
[7:26] Clucky: Kitten, kitten, where are you? I have someone I want you to meet, kitten.
[7:35] Kitten: Oh, I better go down.
[7:37] Clucky: I'll follow you down for moral support.
[7:40] Clucky: Up, up, down, jump.
[7:45] Kitten: Oh, hi Clucky. Have you seen Kitten? Oh, there you are.
[7:59] Clucky: Hello, sweet Kitten. Were you up on the perch again with Clucky? I am so glad you two like each other. I have someone new for you to meet. This is S'mores. He is my class guinea pig and is visiting for the weekend. I'll leave you to get to know each other for a little bit. I'm going to go get some toys for S'mores.
[8:26] Kitten: Well, hello S'mores. I'm Kitten Adeline Daniels and this is Sir Cluckington of Carrington.
[8:35] S'mores: Well, hello. So nice to meet you. My name is S'mores. Wow, this is a really big yard you have and your cage is huge.
[8:44] Kitten: That's not a cage. It's a shed.
[8:48] S'mores: Oh, a shed. I've never seen one of those before. I'm not usually outside. I like the classroom. This seems so wild out here.
[8:57] Clucky: Wild? This is just a simple neighborhood.
[9:01] S'mores: There is so much grass and there are bushes and trees and do I see water over there? How do you keep from getting lost?
[9:08] Kitten: Don't worry, S'mores. We won't let you get lost. Would you like us to show you around? We could take you up to the perch.
[9:15] S'mores: Oh no, I couldn't. That's far too high for me. I'll just wait here until Maddox returns. Do you have anything I could hide under? I just feel so exposed here.
[9:25] Kitten: Come on, S'mores. Where's your sense of adventure?
[9:28] S'mores: Oh, I don't think guinea pigs have those. We like to cuddle and burrow and eat snacks. This is really too much nature for me.
[9:35] Clucky: This guy sounds pretty boring.
[9:38] Kitten: Be nice. He's just nervous.
[9:41] Clucky: Well, S'mores, how would you...
[9:43] Kitten: Okay, S'mores, I have your toy.
[9:46] Clucky: Rosie, no! No, Rosie!
[9:49] Kitten: Beast! Beast! Run for your life!
[9:52] Clucky: What is going on?
[9:55] Kitten: What? A beast?
[9:57] Clucky: Teeth with fur!
[9:59] Kitten: What is it?
[10:01] Clucky: Back to the perch, Clucky. S'mores, come with.
[10:03] S'mores: No, don't go towards the water.
[10:05] Kitten: I'm going to get it. I can smell it.
[10:09] S'mores: What? The water? No, S'mores, don't do it.
[10:15] Clucky: Oh, come back here, you fuzzy little ball.
[10:18] Kitten: Clucky, he's through the fence. He's headed straight for the pond.
[10:23] Clucky: I don't want to play.
[10:25] Kitten: Blocked by the fence.
[10:27] Maddox: Mom, help. S'mores is in the pond.
[10:31] Mom: What is all the commotion?
[10:34] Maddox: Rosie, inside.
[10:39] Kitten: I just... wanted to play.
[10:45] Maddox: Mom, S'mores. We have to save him. He is in the pond.
[10:49] Mom: I'll grab the inner tube and the pool net. Maybe we can scoop him up.
[10:52] Maddox: Wow, he's really swimming fast.
[10:55] Clucky: I didn't know guinea pigs could swim.
[10:59] Maddox: Yeah, me either.
[11:02] Mom: Honey, the pond is dangerous.
[11:06] Maddox: Give me the tube. I have to save him. I'm going in.
[11:12] Clucky: She is so brave.
[11:14] Maddox: Here, swim fast. I'll stand guard with the pole. I'll hit anything that comes close.
[11:19] Clucky: I've got your back. Hurry.
[11:22] Maddox: Would you look at that? She can really swim fast.
[11:25] Clucky: Yeah, is it just me or is S'mores sinking lower into the water?
[11:29] Maddox: He must be getting tired. He has swam really far. He's almost to the middle of the pond.
[11:35] Clucky: Maddox is almost there. I think she's going to make it.
[11:38] Maddox: Bark, bark, she's got him. Not a moment too soon. His nose was barely above the water.
[11:43] Mom: Come on, Maddox, honey. Swim back as fast as you can.
[11:46] Clucky: Oh, hurry back, Maddox. Lucky, I don't think I can watch. What if something happens to Maddox?
[11:53] Kitten: It's going to be okay, kitten. She's almost to the shore. Just a little bit more.
[11:58] Maddox: Come on, Maddox, you can do it.
[12:01] Mom: Come on, honey, you're almost here.
[12:05] Maddox: Oh, thank goodness you made it.
[12:08] Maddox: Oh, Mom, his heart is beating so fast. I hope he will be okay.
[12:13] Mom: Don't worry, honey. He's going to be just fine. I'm so proud of you. You were so brave.
[12:19] Maddox: I just had to save him. I was so worried a gator might get him or he would get too tired and drown.
[12:27] S'mores: Send me back to the classroom.
[12:29] Clucky: I didn't know guinea pigs could swim.
[12:32] Maddox: Neither did I. I hope S'mores' swimming days are over.
[12:36] S'mores: Too much nature.
[12:39] Mom: Come on in. Let's get you both cleaned up.
[12:42] Kitten: Meow, can you believe that just happened? Meow.
[12:46] Clucky: That was better than a movie. Things sure have gotten more interesting since you moved in.
[12:53] Kitten: Lucky, that was terrifying. My sweet Maddox could have been eaten by a gator or bitten by a snake. Meow, meow.
[13:04] Clucky: Kitten, there is no need to panic now. She is safe. They both are.
[13:10] Kitten: You're right. In, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4. Out, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4.
[13:27] Clucky: Wow, that breathing exercise really does help. But S'mores is lucky that Maddox is brave. I would have let him drown.
[13:38] Kitten: Oh, Kitten, you don't mean that. Besides, didn't you see the mom person holding the pool net like it was a long club?
[13:46] Clucky: She was scanning the water and the shore for any signs of danger.
[13:50] Kitten: She would have rescued Maddox if she was in any trouble.
[13:54] Clucky: Trust me, you don't want to mess with the mom person. She looks all sweet and nice, but she is fiercely protective of her kids.
[14:03] Kitten: Plus, she knows all kinds of helpful stuff like patching up wings and paws.
[14:08] Clucky: And her kisses have magical healing powers. Xander told me that.
[14:13] Kitten: Wow, magical kisses. That makes me feel a little bit better.
[14:19] Clucky: However, I think I'm going to go scratch on my post for a bit. I need to work through all of these feelings.
[14:26] Kitten: Good plan. I think practicing my taekwondo forms will do some good for me too.
[14:31] Clucky: Hi-yah!

[15:14] Clucky: Kitten, when does a guinea pig go moo?
[15:18] Kitten: I don't know. When?
[15:21] Clucky: When it's learning a new language.
[15:25] Clucky: Clucky!
