[1:09] Loki: It's great to see you, though. It's been almost a month since we've been back from the evacuation.

[1:16] Loki: No, we've been back for a while now, too. But my Hoomans have been keeping me close, and we finally moved into our house.

[1:25] Loki: We were staying in a small trailer. My family has been building a new house, and shortly after, we came back from the evacuation. We got that first snow, so we finally got to move in, so I haven't been out and about as much as before.

[1:36] Brigitte: So, what happened to you during the evacuation? Where did you end up?

[1:40] Loki: The day of the evacuation, I was at the beach!

[1:43] Brigitte: Beach? What beach are you talking about?

[1:46] Clucky: I haven't heard any of the other mobile animals tell us about any beaches.

[1:50] Loki: I love a good sandy beach.

[1:52] Brigitte: Brikita, when have you been to the beach?

[1:55] Kitten: Hey, Kitten, I was wondering why you hadn't been down to the coop yet.

[1:58] Loki: Hello, everyone. Hi, Loki. It's good to see you again.

[2:05] Brigitte: Loki was just starting to tell us the story of his evacuation.

[2:09] Loki: It's been a while since all that drama.

[2:14] Loki: Yes. When my family woke up the morning that we evacuated, the air was terrible with smoke. Dad said we should probably get out of there for a day, so we packed the car and drove out to the ocean.

[2:25] Loki: It was the most water I've ever seen. I ran. I jumped. I swam. I hunted. I ran some more. I jumped some more.

[2:34] Brigitte: Sounds like you took a drive out to the coast to the ocean then?

[2:42] Loki: Yes. My family mentioned something about the Pacific Ocean. It was cold and so refreshing. I love the water.

[2:50] Brigitte: I used to swim all the time in the lakes back in Canada.

[2:53] Clucky: Hmm. What's that smell? Seems another cat is close.

[2:58] Brigitte: Another cat? Big or small?

[3:01] Clucky: How can he tell that from the scent, Brikita?

[3:04] Brikita: You never know, Bridget. Perhaps Loki can tell if it's a house cat or not.

[3:08] Clucky: Well, hang on there. If it's not a house cat, what are you talking about here?

[3:12] Brigitte: I think she means it could be a wild cat like a cougar or a bobcat.

[3:16] Clucky: Ah, yes, our bobcat. Hey, Loki, are you familiar with cats named Bob or Bale?

[3:22] Loki: Kitten here insists they're only named Bob.

[3:25] Clucky: You know we've talked about this before.

[3:28] Brigitte: Shh! It's getting closer. I'm guessing it's a house cat.

[3:32] Feral: It is not a house cat. I'm a barn cat from a lien alley cat. Bonjour.

[3:41] Feral: But of course. I'm originally from Montreal.

[3:44] Brigitte: No kidding. A fellow Canadian will call me surprised.

[3:48] Clucky: That is an unusual name for a dog.

[3:51] Feral: Okay, I call you surprised. My name is Feral.

[3:56] Brigitte: Feral, his name is Loki.

[3:59] Clucky: I think I prefer to call him surprised.

[4:01] Brigitte: Kitten, it makes my heart soar to see you again. All safe and happy I see.

[4:08] Loki: You're an odd black cat, but you're Canadian, so you can't be bad.

[4:12] Brigitte: Go with your instincts, Loki.

[4:14] Feral: This is so surprising to have two Canadians in our community. I have only just recently returned. My owner stayed away a little longer than I would have liked.

[4:24] Brigitte: Oh, Feral, I am so happy to see you back. I was feeling the worst since we haven't seen you since we've been back from the evacuation. Loki was just telling us the story of his evacuation with his family. He was at the beach.

[4:37] Feral: Yes, it was awesome. I ran, I swam, I jumped, I ran some more, I swam some more.

[4:43] Brigitte: So, did you get to stay at the beach the entire time, running and jumping and swimming?

[4:48] Loki: No, actually it was at lunch that my dad spoke to one of our neighbours and we found out the mountain was evacuating. The evacuation level must have changed just moments after we left. My mom said it was strange because she never got any indications, but she thinks that it's because we're now out of the area and technically out of danger already.

[5:06] Brigitte: So, where did you end up staying?

[5:08] Loki: We actually came back to town and stayed in the valley at a hotel. We stayed in a bunch of those when we drove from Canada.

[5:15] Brigitte: I hate hotels. I can't run, I can't jump, there's no swimming.

[5:20] Loki: I would have preferred to stay at the beach. That salty air was amazing. Instead, it was just boring. I got to go out for walks in some new places, so I got to smell some new stuff, but there wasn't really anything interesting. I really just wanted to get back home to the trailer. I don't like sleeping in unfamiliar places. It stresses me out. I like being home.

[5:40] Brigitte: I completely agree with that sentiment. It is so nice to be back in the barn again and able to visit my precious kitten.

[5:47] Clucky: So, Pharrell, where did you end up staying all this time?

[5:50] Feral: The atoll.

[5:51] Clucky: The apple? The big one? Isn't that what they call New York City?

[5:55] Brigitte: Hey, kitten, isn't that right? Isn't New York City called the Big Apple, not just the apple?

[6:00] Kitten: Yes, Clucky, they do call New York City the Big Apple, but...

[6:04] Clucky: You went all the way to New York City? And why do they call it the Big Apple anyway? Are there plenty of big apples there?

[6:11] Kitten: No, I don't think so. It's a big metropolitan area, so I don't think there are any apple orchards there at all.

[6:18] Clucky: Neapolitan? Well, that's one of my favorites. I remember when Xander came down and shared his ice cream cone with me with the Neapolitan flavor, and it was chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. That was so tasty.

[6:30] Kitten: That's not an apple either.

[6:32] Clucky: Oh, I love ice cream. I'm not allowed to have chocolate, but it sounds really tasty.

[6:37] Feral: What are you all talking about? I was in Seattle.

[6:41] Clucky: So you were in New York.

[6:43] Feral: He's saying Seattle, Clucky. It's in Washington.

[6:46] Clucky: Oh, is that far? Do they have apples there? Isn't Washington famous for apples?

[6:51] Feral: I love apples. They're one of my favorites. Red ones, green ones, yellow ones, orangey ones. I love them all.

[6:58] Loki: Oh, me too, Loki.

[7:00] Feral: It's northern Washington. Not that far from us.

[7:03] Brigitte: So where were you staying in Seattle, Pharrell?

[7:05] Feral: My owner has a sister who lives there. They live in an appartement. It's very high. I think maybe 20 floors above the ground.

[7:11] Brigitte: They had a balcony, but I could not get away because it was so high. I felt trapped in this big concrete cage for an eternity. All I could think about was getting back to see my kitten.

[7:26] Loki: It doesn't sound so bad, Pharrell.

[7:29] Feral: The sister had a young daughter. She liked to torment me by dressing me up in doll clothes. I was wearing a pink dress and hat for several days, and she would make me play afternoon tea in her bedroom. My owner thought it was adorable. It was not. I have never been so embarrassed in my whole life. But I kept thinking that I must survive this torture so that I can get back to my kitten.

[7:53] Kitten: Oh, Pharrell, you do like to exaggerate.

[8:05] Feral: My family liked to dress me up when I was younger. I've been a pumpkin and a bumblebee before. Maybe it's a Canadian thing.

[8:11] Brigitte: No, this family in Seattle was not Canadian.

[8:14] Feral: I was so happy when my owner finally said it was time to return home. It is so nice to be home, isn't it? All the familiar grass, trees, and our coop.

[8:23] Clucky: It certainly is, Brigitte. Especially for the holidays. I love Thanksgiving.

[8:28] Brigitte: Me too, Clucky. I even wrote a song about it.

[8:31] Clucky: Well, let's hear it. I love a good song.

[8:36] Feral: Stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, and some green beans. Those are some of my favorite things at Thanksgiving.

[8:47] Clucky: Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, dinner rolls, some corn, a nice dollop of gravy, and of course, some turkey.

[8:54] Brigitte: Whoa! Whoa, what was that?

[8:57] Clucky: Um, not turkey. Definitely not turkey.

[9:01] Feral: Uh, I don't like turkeys. Are you related to turkeys? No, right?

[9:06] Clucky: No, I meant, uh, ham. Ham is tasty. So is bacon. Yeah, no turkeys.

[9:54] Brigitte: And for all of my darling friends who come to visit. It makes life so much more interesting.

I never imagined my life would turn out this way. I'm even grateful to the human that offers her home and food to me. If only she would take this annoying collar off of my neck.
