[1:05] Kitten: No, it's the L-Lamas.

[1:10] Clucky: The what now?

[1:12] Kitten: The L-Lamas.

[1:15] Clucky: Who are the L-Lamas?

[1:19] Kitten: They are the worst. L-Lloyd, L-Larry, and L-Leonard.

[1:26] Clucky: Are you stuttering because you are that afraid of them?

[1:29] Kitten: No, that's how they say their names. Because L-Lama is spelled with two L's at the beginning.

[1:37] Clucky: They all have names with two L's as well.

[1:41] Kitten: But the second L in Lama is silent. You don't pronounce it.

[1:45] Clucky: It is not L-Lamas.

[1:48] Kitten: They say L-Lamas and they say both L's in their names as well.

[1:54] Clucky: Why are there two L's in Lama?

[1:57] Kitten: Because the word Lama comes from South America where they speak Spanish. In Spanish, the double L is pronounced the way English speakers would pronounce the Y in yard. In English, the double L at the beginning of a word Lama is pronounced just as if it were a single L.

[2:14] Clucky: In other words, English speakers borrowed the spelling from Spanish but altered the pronunciation.

[2:20] Kitten: So, if we were in South America, it would be pronounced Yama and not Lama?

[2:27] Kitten: So, their names would actually be Lloyd, Larry, and Leonard?

[2:35] Clucky: That certainly makes the evil L-Lamas seem less scary.

[2:40] Kitten: I completely agree. L-Lamas are petrifying.

[2:44] Clucky: What? They can fly too?

[2:46] Kitten: No, Clucky. Petrifying. Not flying. It means they make someone so frightened that they are unable to move.

[2:54] Kitten: I did not mention the L-Lamas to you when I told you about my journey to Washington. Oh la la, mon dieu. I thought for sure that it was going to be the end of my nine lives. I encountered one as I meandered through a pasture.

[3:09] Kitten: And suddenly, I was covered in this disgusting green substance. Then it tried to bite at me and kick me. And it had crazy toes that would try to stab at me. I barely got away.

[3:20] Kitten: Thankfully, there was a fence that it couldn't cross, so that's how I made my escape. Then it took several days before I was able to get all this green goo off of my fur. And I haven't even mentioned the disgusting smell it had.

[3:36] Clucky: Do you know how difficult it is to get away from a smell when it is yourself?

[3:41] Kitten: That sounds ghastly. I was very fortunate to find a stream the next day to bathe myself completely. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would not have gone completely mad smelling so badly and feeling so disgusting.

[3:56] Clucky: I agree. They are so mean.

[3:59] Kitten: So mean? Hee-haw! The farmer put me in their fenced pasture a few days ago. I think he said that he thought we might get along and I could make some new friends.

[4:12] Clucky: I must have heard him wrong because they were not friendly.

[4:16] Kitten: What did they do?

[4:18] Clucky: Well, at first they seemed okay. They introduced themselves and then they started asking me some questions.

[4:26] Kitten: That does not sound so bad.

[4:29] Clucky: Not nice questions like all of you ask, but questions like, why are you so small? Lloyd said I barely come up to his knees, but that was actually not true. I was almost to his shoulder.

[4:45] Kitten: However, he had to bend his neck almost in half to look at me.

[4:50] Clucky: That is not very nice.

[4:53] Kitten: Look, Larry said, why are your ears drooping down? It makes you look even smaller and sadder.

[5:02] Clucky: I tried to tell him that for a long time they stood up, but I was sad and I was missing Ella and Percy. They started chanting, look lonely, look little, look loser at me.

[5:18] Kitten: These sound just awful.

[5:20] Clucky: Do they add an extra L to everything?

[5:23] Kitten: I think just the words that start with L. Then Leonard asked, what is wrong with your feet? You have just one hoof at the end. What good is that?

[5:36] Clucky: I told him that my hooves help me walk on all kinds of land, from grassy fields to rocky paths without problems. I can even carry heavy loads and pull carts. My hooves are very stable.

[5:51] Kitten: What did he say to that?

[5:53] Clucky: He just scoffed and said they could carry heavy loads too, but they have two toes and not hooves. They said their toes were better as they could use them to defend against predators.

[6:06] Kitten: I felt so bad about myself compared to them.

[6:10] Clucky: Whoa, they sound like a pack of bullies.

[6:14] Kitten: Then Larry asked if I wanted to play a game. I said yes, I love games.

[6:21] Clucky: What was the game?

[6:23] Kitten: Spit the tail on the donkey.

[6:26] Clucky: What? Spit the tail on the donkey? That does not sound like a very fun game.

[6:32] Kitten: It was not. They told me to run and they took turns spitting at me. It was a super gross green gunk.

[6:41] Clucky: That's terrible.

[6:43] Kitten: Mon dieu. Rook! Oh, Pharrell, that must have been what you were covered in. Sacre bleu, these barbaric creatures. The French do not use spit as a weapon.

[6:55] Clucky: Llamas can spit their cud, that's the partially digested food, ten to fifteen feet. It's a great defense mechanism.

[7:01] Kitten: Wow, I wonder if they can do rapid fire.

[7:06] Clucky: Funny. That would be a good idea.

[7:10] Kitten: Well, as far as a weapon, it's a pretty good one. How did you get away from them?

[7:15] Clucky: I started running and dodging away from them. I got so scared they were going to hit me with one of their gross green globs, but I saw a section of the fence where the top board was down and I ran for it.

[7:30] Kitten: I was not sure I could do it, but as I got close I took a flying leap and luckily I cleared the fence and then I just kept running.

[7:44] Clucky: That is positively dreadful. We can certainly understand why you ran away. Why do you think the farmer would put you in with such mean animals?

[7:54] Kitten: I don't think he knew how mean they would be to me. The farmer is very nice. He just gets a bit busy taking care of all his other animals and does not have time to spend with me.

[8:08] Clucky: The llamas are usually in the pastures with the sheep anyway. They are the protectors of the sheep.

[8:16] Kitten: Why do sheep need protecting? How do the llamas protect the sheep?

[8:22] Clucky: Sheep are not always very aware of their surroundings. They are mainly focused on eating grass all day. They barely look up.

[8:33] Kitten: I tried to talk to a few of them before, but they pretty much ignored me. They also don't have any way to defend themselves besides running away and they aren't particularly fast.

[8:46] Clucky: The llamas have very large ears and can hear much better than the sheep. They are much larger and do have a lot more ways of defending themselves and the sheep.

[8:58] Amy Daniels: If they sense danger, they will herd the sheep up to the barn.

[9:02] Amy Daniels: And if a predator does come by, the L-Lamas will spit and bite and kick it in defense of themselves and the herd.

[9:13] Amy Daniels: So, I guess they are not all bad, but they certainly could use some manners.

[9:18] Amy Daniels: Do you think they are that mean to the sheep?

[9:20] Amy Daniels: I don't think the sheep pay much attention to them.

[9:24] Amy Daniels: When I have seen them in the field from my pasture, they are usually interacting with the other L-Lamas.

[9:33] Amy Daniels: They don't seem to pay much attention to the sheep unless they need to make them move up to the barn.

[9:40] Amy Daniels: Then they will sometimes charge at them, frighten them to get moving.

[9:46] Amy Daniels: I wonder why they choose to pick on you so much.

[9:50] Amy Daniels: Maybe it's the only way they know how to interact.

[9:54] Amy Daniels: When I see them together in the field, they are usually just grazing.

[9:59] Amy Daniels: However, if they are interacting with each other, they are usually rather aggressive towards each other.

[10:07] Amy Daniels: They use their long necks to hit each other and will sometimes spit and bite and kick one another.

[10:15] Amy Daniels: Now that I think about it, maybe they were trying to include me in their group.

[10:22] Amy Daniels: That is certainly a brutish way to make friends.

[10:26] Amy Daniels: They made you feel so bad that you ran off.

[10:29] Amy Daniels: What will you do now? Will you strike out on your own?

[10:32] Amy Daniels: Discover more of this wild country that we live in?

[10:35] Amy Daniels: I hope not.

[10:37] Amy Daniels: Now that I've had a moment to calm down and think, maybe it wasn't as bad as I made it out to be.

[10:45] Amy Daniels: What? You are not thinking of going back to the farm and those bully L-Lamas, are you?

[10:51] Amy Daniels: I'm sure you can stay here for a bit.

[10:53] Amy Daniels: My human Xander should be down very soon and when he discovers you, I'm sure he'll get you some help.

[10:59] Amy Daniels: The mom and dad people will surely know what to do to help.

[11:02] Amy Daniels: I am all for standing up to bullies and not running away from your problems.

[11:06] Amy Daniels: But maybe you want a little extra help here.

[11:09] Amy Daniels: Do you really think this Xander person could help me?

[11:14] Amy Daniels: I don't know if you should all be so trusting of your humans.

[11:17] Amy Daniels: The last time I trusted a human, I got stuck with his infernal collar.

[13:48] Amy Daniels: I could not wait any longer. I have been up all day break, but I was trying to show some restraint and not come too soon.

[13:56] Amy Daniels: So, what happened with Perry?

[13:59] Amy Daniels: Well, the owners were actually out looking for Perry, and the mom person got in touch with them.

[14:04] Amy Daniels: They came up and told the mom person that they had found Perry a new home.

[14:08] Amy Daniels: A friend of their family actually has a donkey rescue.

[14:11] Amy Daniels: A donkey rescue? How many donkeys need rescuing to have a whole facility dedicated to donkeys?

[14:18] Amy Daniels: I don't think it's that common. It's probably a sanctuary for other retired farm animals as well.

[14:24] Amy Daniels: A place for them to relax and live out their lives.

[14:27] Amy Daniels: It turns out they were specifically looking for a miniature donkey to keep company their existing female miniature donkey named Jasmine.

[14:35] Amy Daniels: I think they're hoping they'll make a love match.

[14:38] Amy Daniels: Ah, Amour! That is such wonderful news! So inspirational, no?

[14:44] Amy Daniels: Think about it, kitten. You and I could go on our own love adventure and visit them at the sanctuary and talk about how wonderful love is!

[14:54] Amy Daniels: Well, it's kind of far, and you've got a caller keeping you local. Perhaps not.
