[24:51] Kitten: Oh, when you swished your tail, Tatum, he saw he could come out.

[24:55] Tatum: Exactly.

[24:57] Clucky: Why does he have white spots?

[24:59] Tatum: That does not seem like very good camouflage.

[25:02] Tatum: That is where you are wrong. When I lay down in the bushes or under trees, my spots make it look like little spots of sunlight hitting the ground.

[25:12] Tatum: Let me show you.

[25:14] Kitten: Oh, my!

[25:16] Clucky: Where did he go?

[25:17] Tatum: He is invisible.

[25:20] Clucky: If I did not see him lay down there, I would have no idea he was there.

[25:24] Tatum: Very well done, meow.

[25:27] Clucky: The hardest part is staying still.

[25:30] Tatum: I can understand that.

[25:33] Clucky: What other signals do you use your tail to make, Tatum?

[25:37] Tatum: If I put it up, it's like an alert. As you mentioned before, Clucky, I do have very large ears, and those help me have ultrasonic hearing.

[25:48] Clucky: What is that? It sounds cool.

[25:51] Tatum: Well, I heard some humans discussing research done by Dr. Henry Hefner at the University of Toledo, showing that deer can hear upwards of 54,000 hertz. Humans hear up to 20,000 hertz, if lucky.

[26:08] Tatum: Translation, you make noises you may not even know you're making, but we deer can hear them clear as a bell.

[26:17] Clucky: Oh, wow! I wonder what noises I make that I don't even know I'm making!

[26:23] Tatum: With my ultrasonic hearing, I can detect danger and alert others around me by putting up my tail.

[26:31] Tatum: As a deer, we don't have many defenses, but our best is running. Because we can usually hear predators coming from a long way off, we have a better chance of getting away.

[26:44] Tatum: If we need to run, I also use Mama's tail as a beacon so I know where to run and to follow her.

[26:50] Clucky: It's easy to get lost in the woods.

[26:53] Tatum: What happens if you get lost?

[26:55] Tatum: Well, if that happens, I just find a little patch of shrubs to lay down and wait. She always comes back for me.

[27:03] Clucky: Yes, Neil is still growing and cannot always keep up if we have to run.

[27:10] Tatum: Finally, it looks like the cloud is starting to break up and clear away.

[27:15] Clucky: We should be going as well.

[27:17] Tatum: Already?

[27:20] Clucky: Yes, I hear the humans are headed down this way.
