[0:30] Heather Bedor: Hello, hello. That was so fun. I was enjoying our little new music intro. What do you think, Chris? It sounds like a 90s cop show on TV. Kind of, or like SNL if it was like hurry up mode. But very detective mode. Well, hello. Happy 100th episode, everybody. Oh my god. It's been a hell of a ride. But yeah, 100 episodes as of today, officially of our acts. Not including our special takeovers or anything like that. Backstage, we've got the lovely Casey. She's run things amok. So if you randomly hear another voice, it's not mine. It's hers. She's doing an amazing job helping us. But again, welcome to the show. Broadway Fan Club Podcast. The one and only Chris Levy is joining me again this week. I'm so excited for this, Chris.
[1:27] Chris Levy: Yes. And I look like I'm in a mysterious environment.
[1:33] Heather Bedor: You are, aren't you? I am. I'm undercover. I'm wearing a hoodie. I'm very much undercover. But the lighting is super great in here. But that's okay. We're gonna have a great show. We've got a lot of stuff to rock and roll through today. And we've got some very special guest stars coming in. And I'm really excited because it's some of my favorite people. Chris hasn't had the opportunity to speak to a lot of them. So we shall see how it goes. Chris, I like the background. You want to show off your background real quick?
[2:11] Chris Levy: Oh, I don't know. Can you wait? I just pulled some posters out and I thought it'll be so much prettier than a pile of junk on my drafting table. I have weird furniture behind me and my purse. But yours is a much cooler background. But again, mysterious location.
[2:30] Heather Bedor: Yeah, I like them. If you look right there, you can see Michael Arden's signature.
[2:39] Chris Levy: Hold on. I don't know. Right in that corner.
[2:47] Heather Bedor: I believe you. Hold on. Should we should we make you back? There we go. So Michael Arden signs. Also love that little shop poster. That's really cool.
[2:58] Chris Levy: That is from the little shop that never happened. Oh, go on. You remember that in 2003, they did a Broadway revival and it did star Hunter Foster. And it tried out in Pompano or Coral Gables somewhere down in southeast Florida. And the direction was darker and meant to look a lot more like a B movie. And this beautiful I'm in love with this artwork. This looks like something that would actually have sold a B movie back in the 60s. And they were going to bring it to New York. And for whatever reason, people got nervous. They got rid of the director and brought in Jerry Zaks. And Alice Ripley left and they brought in Kerry Butler. And it ended up being much more sanitized and like the film. They even interpolated Mean Green Mother at the end. And it was okay. Having seen the original little shop at the Orpheum.
[4:10] Heather Bedor: Yeah, where you were born.
[4:20] Chris Levy: That has always been my gold standard and of Ellen Green, as for many people will always be my one and only Audrey. No offense, Alice, her Audrey was really cool. I have seen this Coral Gables.
[4:26] Heather Bedor: Oh, look at that. I got confetti.
[4:37] Chris Levy: You got confetti randomly? A video from it. Did it show you there? Watch. Wait, wait. Uh-huh. Oh, I got balloons that time. I'm currently working through technical problems.
[4:50] Heather Bedor: We might just, I know we might have to start over. Jeffrey says we're not on Facebook yet. But we're going to be. So if you got a chance to hang out in the first couple of minutes, we're going to be right back. Stay tuned. Because tech support issues. Stay tuned, everybody. Hang tight.
