[0:20] Heather Bedor: This is gonna be like the calmest episode of the week.
[0:25] Amber Brzezinski: I know, right?
[0:26] Heather Bedor: Sitting here with everything going on, and I'm like, oh my god, migraine.
[0:31] Amber Brzezinski: You're crazy outside.
[0:33] Heather Bedor: I do just want to shout out local Bristol listener, Heather, who might be tuning in, who I met off my Buy Nothing Bristol, because as you know, I know I am moving, so I'm purging a lot of things, and we were just chatting, and I was like, Yeah, my podcast.
[0:52] Amber Brzezinski: And she was like, Oh, can uh like what's it about?
[0:55] Heather Bedor: And I was like, Broadway stuff.
[0:57] Amber Brzezinski: She was like, Oh, well, I like can I check it out?
[0:59] Heather Bedor: So I sent her a link so she might be listening. So Heather, if you're listening, local Connecticut.
[1:05] Amber Brzezinski: She was like, I'm Heather too.
[1:06] Heather Bedor: I was like, Yes, Heather. You have all the Heather energy right now, and I have the Amber energy. How did this happen?
[1:12] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, I know.
[1:16] Heather Bedor: I love the outfit. I'm in my very I'm clear I have a migraine everybody, like, and also with the category five hurricane in Jamaica, even though it's not in Orlando, there have been storms all day.
[1:29] Amber Brzezinski: So migraine city.
[1:31] Heather Bedor: So I'm like, I'm wearing my spooky bucky shirt.
[1:34] Amber Brzezinski: Yep.
[1:35] Heather Bedor: I'm wearing I'm dressed a little spooky for everyone.
[1:38] Amber Brzezinski: You are we really are so very proud of you.
[1:42] Heather Bedor: Yes, love the bats.
[1:43] Amber Brzezinski: Freaking bats.
[1:46] Heather Bedor: It's gonna be a very chill episode. We were supposed to have Final Strike Collaborative here.
[1:51] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but half of Final Strike Collaborative is uh overseas right now, unexpectedly for tech, and the other is sick, so they'll be joining us in November.
[2:01] Heather Bedor: But they still are going to be doing a really awesome giveaway for tonight's viewers slash listeners, and we'll tell you towards the end of the show how to enter to do that.
[2:11] Amber Brzezinski: So um, yeah, we're gonna do the damn thing. I'm gonna be talking as this all night.
[2:14] Heather Bedor: This is great. We should do every episode in the dark.
[2:19] Amber Brzezinski: Can we do that? Just like lights out.
[2:21] Heather Bedor: It's like very are you afraid of the dark.
[2:24] Amber Brzezinski: I'm okay with that. Like my glasses are reflecting, so it looks kind of creepy, and then you can actually see my whole screen.
[2:31] Heather Bedor: But um, yeah, no, I'm okay with like we should have like a nap podcast.
[2:37] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, like everybody just tunes in and then we all just go to sleep.
[2:42] Heather Bedor: Honestly, right? That probably exists, it doesn't, but I've always wanted to do a fringe show, like a BYOV, which is a break your own venue of a fringe show that's just for napping.
[2:57] Amber Brzezinski: So, see, everybody in our comments section's been under the weather either. Honestly, it has been like it's it's just really been like I said last week. Like, I don't know why we agreed to do this on a Monday.
[3:09] Heather Bedor: I do know why we agreed to do this on a Monday, but like early, so we can get a good start to the week. But I'm gonna say this October has not Octobered as October generally does, yeah.
[3:21] Amber Brzezinski: And I think with the stuff going on in the world, whether it's just Broadway stuff, whether it's government stuff, whether it's other stuff, I think everybody is just so broken and beaten down right now.
[3:37] Heather Bedor: Yeah, that we're just all retreating. Like, I am guys, I am under a blanket. I'm just like, I don't want to do anything.
[3:46] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[3:47] Heather Bedor: Uh yes, Cheyenne says it perfectly right. Ready? I'm going. I'm going to post. We're all having a shit day, it would seem.
[3:53] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, Cheyenne. That is it's just it's just a shit month.
[3:56] Heather Bedor: It is. That's okay. But we're here with the Broadway Fan Club podcast. We're gonna do whatever we possibly can to try to start our week off right? Make sure everybody has a good start to the best week generally of the year.
[4:10] Amber Brzezinski: Um, Heather, do you have any special plans?
[4:13] Heather Bedor: I already know what the big plan is for the weekend, but do you have any special plans? Because last month last year we were doing it up for Halloween this year.
[4:20] Amber Brzezinski: I think honestly, like I'm literally just moving. Like I have no plans to like do anything else other than that, like then move.
[4:31] Heather Bedor: Like that is that will be my full maybe I'll put on a costume to move, but like that will be my move.
[4:42] Amber Brzezinski: I might like no your costume is girl who is stressed out by moving.
[4:48] Heather Bedor: I'm moving, yeah.
[4:50] Amber Brzezinski: My moving costume used to don't judge, don't judge me at all. Every single person I can hear it. My moving costume and uniform used to literally be a baseball hat, like a cap because I look cute in caps, but I always like driving the moving truck and stuff.
[5:06] Heather Bedor: So that was like, all right, this is what I don't move in my I like have to say, like I do like giving out candy, so like I might like disclaimer though, you have to give everyone a disclaimer that doesn't know what you do all year in the candy dishes, but I don't know if I didn't have a space for it in my new place.
[5:25] Amber Brzezinski: So please.
[5:26] Heather Bedor: Oh well. Um, but anyway, um so like my friend that goes out trick-or-treating, like I might just be like, Hey, can I sit on your porch and give out candy and like be weird? Or give out candy in the new community.
[5:43] Amber Brzezinski: Good way to meet neighbors.
[5:44] Heather Bedor: I it's an apartment complex and it's like the whole street is complexes, so like there's not gonna be a lot of trick-or-treaters. I don't think this building, my apartment complex hasn't done it.
[5:54] Amber Brzezinski: They did take my suggestion this year, and Thursday they're doing a hocus pocus movie marathon after school.
[6:01] Heather Bedor: But I used to live in an apartment complex where um you could either put a pumpkin on your door, which meant that you were participating or not. And I also lived in another place where each floor would have like one designated person, they would all be downstairs, so like the kids didn't have to climb up the stairs and go deal with all that.
[6:21] Amber Brzezinski: They just need it at the building.
[6:23] Heather Bedor: But this community is only three buildings, so yeah. Um I think last year somebody in the main building like put a note on all the doors that said like come visit me at room 201 and get some candy, and they like decorated their door up all nice.
[6:40] Amber Brzezinski: The candy sucked, I'll be honest.
[6:42] Heather Bedor: Um, it was like really sub hard candy, but like the decorations were cute, and then I like I like also I like got like a post it and I wrote like and 201, 2101 on like their and I like slapped my post.
[6:58] Amber Brzezinski: Well, last year we were at your apartment conference, or that it was the year before that it was the year before.
[7:05] Heather Bedor: No, yeah, but I'm saying, like last year we were running around New York getting ready. Shout out again to the W Times Square for letting us take over their bathroom for over an hour.
[7:16] Amber Brzezinski: Um ridiculous cutting parts of corsets and shit.
[7:22] Heather Bedor: It was great. Now, have you ever had like a really okay and I will I will shout out to the Museum of Broadway for our trick-or-treating last year. But have you ever had like what's your most favorite like trick-or-treating when you were little? Like, did you ever have like a favorite haul or like favorite thing that you ever gave out as an adult?
[7:43] Amber Brzezinski: Um I was a kid, we used to go to my friend Jennifer Bossy's neighborhood, which is last name was Bossy.
[7:59] Heather Bedor: Yes, B O SSI.
[8:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, who is actually coincidentally my best friend Jill now's neighborhood as well, like growing up because they had the best candy bars.
[8:15] Heather Bedor: It was like the rich kid.
[8:17] Amber Brzezinski: Wait, what's the best candy bar to you though?
[8:19] Heather Bedor: Like, you know, like they had like the big kids, they had like lots of houses, like full-size candy bars, like just a lot, lots of houses, lots of kids, safe neighborhoods, so lots of houses like packed, not a lot of cars, you know what I mean? Just just yeah, it was like a good trick-or-treat neighborhood. So we used to go there.
[8:42] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but what was your favorite candy?
[8:45] Heather Bedor: My favorite candy, uh, I like a butterfinger. I'm a butterfinger girl.
[8:48] Amber Brzezinski: I used to be the Reese's girl. I used to be a Snickers girl, and Kit Kat was like a number one, and then all the candies, like even M&Ms, like everything's kind of changed now a little bit.
[9:02] Heather Bedor: So I'm still girl. Um love a good Andes mint, which is becoming a thing for Halloween now. Don't get it.
[9:09] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but when I was little, gosh, I'm gonna say I was probably five. There was a neighbor um where we lived that smart man, and I feel like I've talked about him before on the show.
[9:21] Heather Bedor: He would take a wheelbarrow and fill it with pennies, super clean, right?
[9:28] Amber Brzezinski: Oh yeah, you've said that I remember this now.
[9:30] Heather Bedor: I remember a scoop and scoop of how many years old you were. So then you would go home because like even at five, you're taking five scoops of pennies, which is like yeah, a dollar, maybe.
[9:43] Amber Brzezinski: I love that's whole smart.
[9:46] Heather Bedor: Um, and then my favorite like Halloween, like trick-or-treating as an adult, because I would do it as an adult, um, and like watch all the kids go. It's really funny. Like friends, like I'll go trick-or-treating with my friends for their kids.
[9:59] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but there was like this one block that I was invited to, like, and it was like multiple parties, but they were all the same party, and everybody had like the most themed out, like think Allison's house, like the ropes mansion from Hocus Pocus, but a whole street of them.
[10:16] Heather Bedor: Love it.
[10:16] Amber Brzezinski: And you would just walk in, grab a drink. They had like different candies and different foods, like made to like dead man's fingers, and that was the best.
[10:25] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[10:25] Amber Brzezinski: And then this past weekend, um, I went with a couple of friends to one of their friends' houses, and it was a self-described Puerto Rican party.
[10:37] Heather Bedor: Um, which is fine.
[10:39] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and they know how to make some good food, so it was all like cheese, and so I ate a lot of cheese this weekend and like almost 3 a.m.
[10:50] Heather Bedor: Um, but I will say that I had I had like a big sister moment, like I don't have any little sisters. I have like a younger stepsister who's like a year younger, but this poor girl on Saturday, 14 years old, y'all. They're starting out really early.
[11:04] Amber Brzezinski: But her ex-boyfriend decided to take a hundred dollar Uber to come, and he was like being like super aggressive and like him girl, did you know she couldn't?
[11:16] Heather Bedor: She couldn't. He like but for like an hour and a half away, and he refused to leave. He was like getting handsy with her, and like her whole family was like, Why is this such a big deal? He's here.
[11:27] Amber Brzezinski: She was crying, but like she didn't know me, but she like latched on to me and like was like she she very innocently was like, they don't know, but like, can I ask you a question?
[11:38] Heather Bedor: And I was like, Yeah, sure, what's going on? She goes, Well, what happens if he like peer pressured me or tried to get me to do something I didn't want to do at 14?
[11:47] Amber Brzezinski: No, that's what I'm saying. Like, ditch him in life, right?
[11:51] Heather Bedor: Like him in life. She put me in as the messenger to let her family know that this guy tried to sexually assault her.
[11:59] Amber Brzezinski: So that was part of the party. Um yeah, and like I just don't get people, like it's cost nothing to be kind.
[12:07] Heather Bedor: Um be nice, be kind to strangers unless they're crazy.
[12:11] Amber Brzezinski: Um, or if they're crazy, maybe your max best friend. But yeah, so um, it's really just a weird year for everybody. I've seen her comments hocus pocus isn't much to watch every year, yes.
[12:22] Heather Bedor: Um I rewatched all of Twilight because I'm that girl.
[12:27] Amber Brzezinski: Um tomorrow night, Heather, you don't even know this, but I am guest appearing on our friend Nick's show.
[12:36] Heather Bedor: Next podcast, if I have a voice by then, they let me pick the spooky movie to do for Halloween.
[12:42] Amber Brzezinski: Uh so we are doing a full review on the gold standard of the nightmare before Christmas.
[12:48] Amber Brzezinski: So the um theater that I volunteer at while I was volunteering.
[12:54] Heather Bedor: Oh, yeah, I want everybody to hear about your weekend for my event that I did Saturday night.
[13:00] Amber Brzezinski: They also did a um volunteer lottery again where it wasn't actually a lottery, it was just like uh you can sign up for this if you'd like.
[13:11] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and now that I've been there a little bit, I know the rules, which are if you are working, you can sign up and have someone else pick up the tickets and use them in your name.
[13:22] Amber Brzezinski: Um so I asked um a friend if who um sadly and fortunately their brother-in-law and brother recently passed away.
[13:33] Amber Brzezinski: Um so they've been having a little bit of a hard time lately.
[13:36] Amber Brzezinski: So I figured, you know, maybe they'd like a nice night out.
[13:40] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[13:41] Amber Brzezinski: You know, so I asked if they were interested in the tickets.
[13:44] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and what it was was um the HSO, which is the Harvard Symphony Orchestra playing live while the um oh no, the link you sent to last week's show.
[14:02] Heather Bedor: Did I mess something up?
[14:03] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, I don't know.
[14:04] Heather Bedor: But it's Chris Levy.
[14:06] Amber Brzezinski: Chris Levy offered to bring me treats from New York.
[14:08] Amber Brzezinski: So um, anyway, um that is it Nightmare Before Christmas with the live orchestra?
[14:15] Amber Brzezinski: It was nightmare before Christmas, but all the songs were played with a live orchestra while they were blown up for that.
[14:24] Amber Brzezinski: So like it's like a very cool that um it doesn't have any other ones like that.
[14:30] Amber Brzezinski: And I've also there's been a live.
[14:34] Amber Brzezinski: I think there's a twilight one happening at Connecticut tonight.
[14:38] Heather Bedor: Of course.
[14:39] Amber Brzezinski: That's or actually no, it was Saturday night.
[14:41] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[14:42] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[14:42] Amber Brzezinski: I love that.
[14:43] Amber Brzezinski: I really Yay, Chris Levy.
[14:46] Heather Bedor: And we're gonna talk about Chris Levy in a second, simply out of pure selfishness, because you had a nice little whirlwind weekend going to a whole bunch of different shows and stuff.
[14:54] Amber Brzezinski: So I'm very excited here.
[14:56] Amber Brzezinski: Jeffrey Cohen, SA for sexual assault.
[14:59] Amber Brzezinski: I have no problem letting people know that if someone says SA sexually assaulted is what they mean.
[15:04] Heather Bedor: Fun stuff.
[15:04] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, see, this is like a vent session, guys.
[15:07] Amber Brzezinski: Feel free in the peanut section over here, just uh peanut gallery.
[15:10] Amber Brzezinski: I can't talk, just vent.
[15:12] Heather Bedor: It's okay.
[15:13] Amber Brzezinski: No, I definitely posted uh last week's episode to all the groups.
[15:18] Heather Bedor: Oh, good job.
[15:19] Amber Brzezinski: Like a big old um it's totally fine.
[15:23] Amber Brzezinski: Delete, delete, delete.
[15:25] Amber Brzezinski: Delete, delete, delete.
[15:27] Amber Brzezinski: It's totally fine.
[15:28] Amber Brzezinski: Nightmare on Elm Street musical is what Olivia is saying.
[15:31] Heather Bedor: I am gonna I love Nightmare in Elm Street.
[15:33] Heather Bedor: I'm gonna beg to differ.
[15:35] Heather Bedor: I don't I don't know how I feel about that.
[15:38] Amber Brzezinski: But they just did paranormal activity.
[15:40] Amber Brzezinski: I just don't know how I feel about it.
[15:42] Amber Brzezinski: But you know what they are, which is technically a horror movie, and I'm really excited about.
[15:46] Amber Brzezinski: And if you've been living under a rock, you have no idea what I'm talking about.
[15:49] Amber Brzezinski: But the freaking Lost Voice.
[15:50] Amber Brzezinski: Hello.
[15:52] Amber Brzezinski: Super excited.
[15:53] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I was actually gonna say, I'm actually wearing this costume in honor of the newly upcoming uh release production of Bat Boy.
[16:04] Heather Bedor: Very nice.
[16:05] Amber Brzezinski: Technically, it could be Kiss of the Spider Woman too.
[16:08] Heather Bedor: Also that, yes.
[16:09] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, um, yes, Bat Boy is gonna be phenomenal.
[16:12] Heather Bedor: I'm so jealous.
[16:14] Amber Brzezinski: All the stuff they're putting out, it's great.
[16:16] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[16:17] Amber Brzezinski: Speaking of stuff that's being put out, have you seen some of the socials that DBH definit becomes her and Beetlejuice have been doing it together?
[16:24] Heather Bedor: Oh, yeah, amazing.
[16:26] Amber Brzezinski: I'm like pretty pretty happy that they do that.
[16:29] Amber Brzezinski: So yeah, it's uh it's gonna be it's gonna be an interesting season.
[16:34] Heather Bedor: Did you did you get a chance to reshare yet?
[16:37] Amber Brzezinski: Do we need to ramble more?
[16:38] Amber Brzezinski: Because we can still have events.
[16:40] Heather Bedor: Um, I'm deleting and then I was gonna reshare.
[16:44] Heather Bedor: But um, I don't know if you wanted to, we could talk about the thing that we were gonna talk about, maybe like share.
[16:50] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, we can talk about the thing.
[16:52] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, we could like share, share some things about it, like just get it off the get it off the top of the app if you want.
[16:59] Heather Bedor: Well, I will also share from my Phoenix song who was just kind enough to make a post from our YouTube.
[17:05] Heather Bedor: I'm gonna repeat this because I think it's so kind.
[17:07] Heather Bedor: I have today to say, I'm assuming assuming to say your masquerade group contributed to an amazing first trip to New York City last weekend.
[17:14] Heather Bedor: Y'all and your group are so appreciated.
[17:15] Amber Brzezinski: Thank you, my Phoenix Song.
[17:17] Heather Bedor: And I don't know if you know, we are actually the world's largest platform for Broadway and off-Broadway shows for fan-based communities.
[17:25] Heather Bedor: Um, this is how the podcast was born.
[17:27] Heather Bedor: We actually run a hundred and thirty different groups, um, which you can find if you're not part of the other ones, right at www.thebroadwayfanclub.com.
[17:39] Heather Bedor: We'd love for you to join.
[17:40] Heather Bedor: This is a passion project for us.
[17:42] Heather Bedor: We do whatever we can for our community.
[17:44] Amber Brzezinski: Speaking of doing whatever we can for our community, and it's a little bit off our general subject.
[17:50] Amber Brzezinski: We generally try to stay as neutral as possible, but I do feel like this will because it's nonpartisan.
[17:57] Amber Brzezinski: This is nonpartisan, it's gonna affect a lot of people.
[18:00] Amber Brzezinski: Um, whether it's somebody that you know or yourself, um, there's no shame in it.
[18:05] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but I do want everybody and Amber and I have found that this is gonna be the best website for you to go to.
[18:10] Amber Brzezinski: Um, as of November 1st, with the current situation with the government shut down, snap benefits, which are considered your food stamps.
[18:18] Amber Brzezinski: If you were in part of that program, part of the program, whatever, um, as of November 1st, they are null and void until future notice.
[18:26] Amber Brzezinski: So if you need help, if you need to put food on your table, and there's no shame in it, guys.
[18:33] Amber Brzezinski: I've been on food stamps.
[18:34] Amber Brzezinski: You know, that's okay.
[18:36] Amber Brzezinski: Sometimes you go through a problem, an accident puts you down, you get laid off.
[18:40] Amber Brzezinski: It's okay.
[18:41] Amber Brzezinski: It's something that's there.
[18:42] Amber Brzezinski: This is something that's there for you as well.
[18:45] Amber Brzezinski: Um, it's feedingamerica.org.
[18:47] Amber Brzezinski: And if you go to w dot feedingamerica.org slash find dash your dash local dash food bank, all one word, it will take you directly to um the best way to find your food bank.
[19:04] Heather Bedor: So I'm gonna share from my page as Amber is continuing to share um to our group so you guys can see it.
[19:11] Heather Bedor: It's really user friendly.
[19:13] Heather Bedor: Can you guys see that?
[19:14] Amber Brzezinski: There you go.
[19:14] Heather Bedor: So we'll put in my zip code just so you guys can see.
[19:17] Heather Bedor: So um, groceries, meals, and more, or just a search way.
[19:21] Heather Bedor: Click in a food bank to learn more about ours, locations, and services at food pantries and meal programs.
[19:26] Heather Bedor: So for mine, it'd be Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
[19:30] Heather Bedor: I can see the nearby pantries.
[19:32] Heather Bedor: I can go through and you can register, you can donate if you're um able to donate.
[19:40] Amber Brzezinski: Really love for this to go away.
[19:42] Heather Bedor: There we go.
[19:42] Heather Bedor: Um but Second Harvest Food Bank and it goes through what they do, different programs, um, how you can donate, but if you were impact, you need to pick up food.
[19:53] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I know personally during the COVID shutdown of the world essentially, um, but they did something here for entertainment.
[20:01] Amber Brzezinski: So anybody who is part of the entertainment industry, um, which I still was at that part, um, we would have a drive-through food pickup program, which was great.
[20:11] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and I was able to help put food on my parents' tables, and so it was really nice.
[20:16] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so if you can support the community, support the community.
[20:19] Amber Brzezinski: If you need the help, go ahead and find a local food pantry.
[20:22] Amber Brzezinski: I know Amber has also posted locally in Connecticut on her socials, um, a couple of more localized things there.
[20:28] Amber Brzezinski: And if you guys need help and you're afraid to reach out, don't hesitate to reach out to us too.
[20:33] Heather Bedor: We're happy to help.
[20:35] Amber Brzezinski: True that.
[20:37] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, my Phoenix song, yes, yes, yes, and uh yes, and a legally blind woman who posted my review, and Heather helped me figure out contacting ADA services.
[20:45] Heather Bedor: I'm in a few of the groups, thank you again.
[20:47] Amber Brzezinski: Not a problem.
[20:48] Amber Brzezinski: And yes, I'm so glad Masquerades been really good with AD accommodations.
[20:52] Amber Brzezinski: It's really something that's been a gem in their crown there.
[20:55] Heather Bedor: And to answer Olivia's question, Heather, when is the next time you're coming up?
[20:59] Amber Brzezinski: We can go to DD Dumblings again.
[21:02] Heather Bedor: Um, I personally am going to be waiting until it's a little bit, I don't want to say safer to travel, uh, more convenient to travel because I have had numerous people who have been traveling and getting stranded for 12 hours 17 hours their flight is canceled because um the air traffic controllers left something like that so when it's a little bit more consistent um which is also adding to my a little bit yeah yeah this is a uh like de-stress Monday for us this is great but you ready to share some fun things yeah um so I mean like I'll just like start off by telling everyone about like my Saturday nah Saturday Saturday Saturday um so yeah like I said I got that those tickets for my friend um which I would have taken myself because that sounds cool as heck yeah even though I'm not like a I'm not one of those nightmare before Christmas like people like I'm I'm just not like I'm just um uh but what I was doing was working the an evening with Jeremy Jordan event which you spent in Jeremy Jordan incredible it was so much fun um so it was just you know Jeremy doing his one man show um he sang songs from Gatsby he sang songs from Floyd Collins, Smash.
[22:48] Amber Brzezinski: Um, he sang just like random like pop songs.
[22:55] Amber Brzezinski: Um, what else did he do?
[22:58] Amber Brzezinski: Um, he did a one-man show of the newsies, which, like I have to tell you, as we all know, this podcast is a huge uh huge fans of Tommy Bracco.
[23:10] Heather Bedor: He did a special special.
[23:12] Amber Brzezinski: I don't know if you'd be a huge fans of Tommy huge fans of Tommy Bracco.
[23:15] Amber Brzezinski: Special shout out to Tommy Bracco.
[23:19] Amber Brzezinski: Um has been recovering surgery.
[23:24] Amber Brzezinski: So if you happen to be knowing, I think I'll say hi to him.
[23:28] Heather Bedor: But yeah, go ahead.
[23:29] Amber Brzezinski: Get you gotta do a line because you did it for me over the phone and it made me giggle.
[23:33] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, you know, he was like, have no via Brooklyn's yet.
[23:39] Amber Brzezinski: It's me, Spock Collin, big by the one and only uh what did he say?
[23:45] Amber Brzezinski: Uh where where the heck is Long Island, Long Island Islands or San Island's old Tommy Brackel.
[23:51] Amber Brzezinski: And I was like, oh my god, it's perfect.
[23:53] Amber Brzezinski: It's perfect.
[23:54] Amber Brzezinski: And I don't know if like as many people got the reference as they should.
[23:58] Heather Bedor: I hope everyone got the reference, but what do you mean?
[24:02] Amber Brzezinski: You know what I mean?
[24:03] Amber Brzezinski: Like in the audience, like the other ushers, like just in general, because like I was like, yeah, Tommy Braco.
[24:03] Amber Brzezinski: Like, I was like, Yes, but not everybody who opens up their Instagram goes to Tommy Brackett.
[24:17] Heather Bedor: Well, that's what I'm saying.
[24:18] Heather Bedor: Like, not everyone's Instagram is automatically programmed to go to Tommy Braco like yours, and apparently mine.
[24:25] Amber Brzezinski: So I don't know how that happened, but I'm not complaining about that.
[24:29] Heather Bedor: Tommy Braco influence is spreading.
[24:32] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, but he is out of surgery for anybody that's been following along.
[24:36] Amber Brzezinski: He had a mass on his spine for several years.
[24:40] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and he's in recovery, and his husband's been taking care of him, and now he is getting all sassy, and he's got a bell to ring for any time that he needs something.
[24:52] Amber Brzezinski: But he's he'll still are wonderful Tommy Bracco.
[24:54] Heather Bedor: I told him I said we love you.
[24:56] Amber Brzezinski: He'd go kick some ass now.
[24:57] Amber Brzezinski: So he will.
[24:58] Amber Brzezinski: Honestly, it's amazing.
[24:59] Amber Brzezinski: Like, go he's incredible, absolutely incredible.
[25:03] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[25:04] Amber Brzezinski: Um, then in some Broadway news.
[25:08] Amber Brzezinski: Um, as I mentioned last week, we had some longtime members of the Book of Mormon playing their final performance yesterday.
[25:19] Amber Brzezinski: Uh, we had Lewis Cleal, uh Cody Jameson Strand, uh sorry, buddy.
[25:29] Amber Brzezinski: Kick uh Keisha a lot, there's a lot, and uh PJ, uh, who played their final performances, and Lewis is actually an original Broadway cast member, which is like absolutely insane.
[25:48] Heather Bedor: Older than Thane Jasper, older than Thane Jasmine, yeah, like absolutely crazy.
[25:54] Amber Brzezinski: So um, happy trails to them.
[25:57] Amber Brzezinski: Uh, congratulations on like decades of wonderful performances, like bravo to you.
[26:05] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and you know, I hope they just, you know, get solace in the fact that they have given so much laughter to many people throughout the years, you know.
[26:18] Heather Bedor: Absolutely.
[26:18] Amber Brzezinski: I love Book of Mormon.
[26:19] Amber Brzezinski: I think I've said it before.
[26:21] Amber Brzezinski: Where like I when it first came out, I was like, this looks so stupid.
[26:26] Amber Brzezinski: Oh my god, it looks so stupid.
[26:28] Amber Brzezinski: And I love South Park and I love Trey and Matt.
[26:30] Amber Brzezinski: Like, I was just like, Meh.
[26:32] Amber Brzezinski: And then Shauna was like, No, when you come into the sand next time, we're gonna go see it.
[26:36] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, Shauna, I don't want to, I don't want to.
[26:40] Amber Brzezinski: And then they won the Tony, and I was like, Okay, but we won the lottery when they still had in-person lottery.
[26:50] Amber Brzezinski: We went to Book of Mormon Lottery, had a great seat.
[26:55] Amber Brzezinski: It was amazing.
[26:56] Amber Brzezinski: I think we had boxed seats for it, and it was the funniest thing ever.
[27:01] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[27:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I was talking to my friend John because he won, him and his wife were going up in December, and he's like, Yeah, we're gonna see the Rockets.
[27:10] Amber Brzezinski: There, they go to church, like she's pretty religious, older couple, and I love them to death.
[27:14] Amber Brzezinski: John's like my uncle, like friend, it's a weird, weird like dynamic, but he's great.
[27:20] Amber Brzezinski: And um, he's like, Yeah, I think we're gonna go to Death Becomes Her.
[27:25] Amber Brzezinski: And I was like, she was gonna hate it.
[27:30] Amber Brzezinski: Because she has a lot of problems with a lot of demographics of people, which sucks.
[27:37] Amber Brzezinski: Um, she's very religious, and I was like, so I don't know if she's gonna like it.
[27:43] Amber Brzezinski: And he's like, Well, what about Book of Mormon?
[27:45] Amber Brzezinski: And I was like, Well, there's literally a song which is "F*** You God," so I'm pretty sure like that would be that one's out, yeah.
[27:57] Amber Brzezinski: Let's just pick any other choice, but that one.
[28:02] Heather Bedor: Yeah, for sure.
[28:04] Amber Brzezinski: Let's not.
[28:04] Amber Brzezinski: I would feel personally like responsible if you said, Hey, we're gonna go to Book of Mormon.
[28:11] Amber Brzezinski: And I'm like, have fun, yeah, right.
[28:15] Amber Brzezinski: Like that would be like a moral, like so.
[28:17] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, just in time, even though like it's a little bit of like Playboyish stuff, just in time is a great option.
[28:26] Amber Brzezinski: Um, like that's a really good solid choice.
[28:30] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so we'll see how it goes.
[28:34] Amber Brzezinski: Um, you know some other good Broadway news.
[28:38] Heather Bedor: Tell me.
[28:40] Amber Brzezinski: There's gonna be even more Glee on Broadway.
[28:44] Heather Bedor: Even Glee on Broadway again, yeah.
[28:47] Amber Brzezinski: Oh my god.
[28:48] Amber Brzezinski: Alex freaking Newell coming in as mommy at Chicago.
[28:52] Amber Brzezinski: Coming back onto Broadway, yeah.
[28:55] Amber Brzezinski: So let's see.
[28:56] Amber Brzezinski: That means you've got Alex in Chicago, Johnny is over at Just in Time, Lea Michele's over at Chess.
[29:03] Amber Brzezinski: Darren Criss is at maybe Half Handed.
[29:06] Amber Brzezinski: Um, am I missing anybody?
[29:07] Amber Brzezinski: Is it just the four of them right now?
[29:09] Heather Bedor: Oh no, I think that's everyone right now, yeah.
[29:12] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, I mean, I keep, I'm friends with Max Adler, and I was like, so why are you gonna be on Broadway buddy?
[29:18] Amber Brzezinski: He was Kurofsky, like you gonna, you gonna go do Broadway?
[29:21] Amber Brzezinski: No, okay.
[29:22] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but that really leaves like, yeah.
[29:27] Amber Brzezinski: Uh, and I think everybody else is, and technically, if you really want to get technical, Kristen Chenoweth, she's on me for quite some time.
[29:35] Heather Bedor: Yeah, true.
[29:36] Amber Brzezinski: Um, true.
[29:37] Amber Brzezinski: Matthew Morrison has had his time to shine, but I'd love to see him come back because he was wonderful in Finding Neverland, and of course, as Link with Hairspray.
[29:46] Amber Brzezinski: Um, Court Overstreet would be phenomenal to see.
[29:51] Amber Brzezinski: Um, there's, it'd be really good to see, um, a couple of, we're at wheelchair guys.
[29:57] Amber Brzezinski: Can you spell it?
[29:58] Heather Bedor: That's right.
[29:59] Amber Brzezinski: Um, oh my god, Kevin, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
[30:02] Amber Brzezinski: Hold on.
[30:03] Amber Brzezinski: Words, the words evade me.
[30:05] Amber Brzezinski: Um, Kevin McFarland.
[30:07] Amber Brzezinski: Hold on a second.
[30:08] Amber Brzezinski: Oh yeah, he did um Celebrity Drag something.
[30:13] Heather Bedor: Kevin McHale.
[30:14] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[30:15] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, so he's already, that's right.
[30:17] Amber Brzezinski: I forgot he was, yes, thanks, Chris, for reminding me that.
[30:20] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, yeah, that's amazing.
[30:23] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so I'm super excited about that.
[30:25] Amber Brzezinski: So, like so Gleeks, it is your season.
[30:30] Amber Brzezinski: I'm here for it.
[30:31] Amber Brzezinski: I rewatched the show, I think, so I didn't watch it when it first came out.
[30:34] Amber Brzezinski: I watched it intermittently, and then I was visiting family in New Orleans, a couple of years ago, and they didn't have TV, so I had the Wi-Fi and I was like, oh, watch Glee, and I watched it from top to bottom, top to bottom.
[30:48] Amber Brzezinski: And then I did it a couple of months ago just because I was looking for something else.
[30:52] Amber Brzezinski: But right now it's Gilmore Girls season, and I keep remote.
[30:55] Amber Brzezinski: That's just, I could put it on and go to sleep and not worry about missing something.
[30:59] Amber Brzezinski: I've been watching a lot of, this is, we are not sponsored, we are not affiliated, I do not know you.
[31:06] Amber Brzezinski: Um, Caleb Hammer, YouTube Financial Audit.
[31:11] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, where he goes through people's finances and basically tells them like what they're frivolously spending money on.
[31:20] Amber Brzezinski: And that sounds awful, but that would put me to sleep.
[31:25] Amber Brzezinski: Or yeah, it's putting me to sleep, but it's also like making me like really paranoid about my money.
[31:32] Amber Brzezinski: But also, but also I'm trying not to be, but uh, but like other, if Heather, I don't think you understand.
[31:41] Amber Brzezinski: I cannot be alive in this year 2025.
[31:46] Amber Brzezinski: Like I just cannot, like I am too much of an, like a helper and like a giver, yeah.
[31:58] Amber Brzezinski: Like I've already donated like five hundred dollars to our local food pantries in the weekend alone, and you've also essentially stated that anybody that needs something to come to you during this time too.
[32:10] Amber Brzezinski: Like I need to be cut off from donations, but I also cannot stop myself because the thought of a grandparent not getting dinner like makes me want to throw up.
[32:31] Heather Bedor: Now uncomfortable, yeah.
[32:33] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, well, and that's again why we've got, you know, and you can use your own web search, but feedingamerica.org.
[32:39] Heather Bedor: We are not sponsored by them, we just want to help out.
[32:42] Amber Brzezinski: Um, also I know that the shop's closed right now on Etsy, but if you do go to our Etsy shop in the next like two weeks, once it starts to be open, we do have bracelets that are for donation to Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS.
[32:56] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and I am currently working on a spreadsheet of donations for playbills.
[33:02] Amber Brzezinski: So a lot of people have been asking, we're trying to put together the official list of how much it costs as a donation to Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS to get a signed playbill at the theater of your choice, so working on that very diligently.
[33:16] Amber Brzezinski: So this guy will be like, Why don't you have an emergency fund?
[33:19] Amber Brzezinski: So I'm like, why don't I have an emergency fund?
[33:19] Heather Bedor: So I'm glad you don't sleep or you do sleep, and then you, yeah, yeah.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: We've switched bodies the last couple weeks apparently, this is my life.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: Um, yeah, you know what we haven't talked about, Amber?
[33:26] Heather Bedor: Hmm, the biggest nightmare that's been happening for the last couple of months is finally over.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: The biggest?
[33:26] Heather Bedor: Which one?
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Well, well, there were technically two simultaneously that could have affected a lot of people on Broadway.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: Oh yes, you want to say it simultaneously?
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: We will, fair is you're supposed to say it with me.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: I don't know what uh sentences you're saying though.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Okay, let's pull our best Neozies.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: The strikes are over!
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: There's no more possibility of a strike!
[33:26] Heather Bedor: I know, but like I was trying to figure out what lyric you were trying to get.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: No lyrics, Daryl!
[33:26] Heather Bedor: I was like no strike!
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: No, yeah, so they've, they did, they've come to an agreement which both the Actor's Equity and the musicians, and the musicians, yeah.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: So fabulous news!
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Phenomenal, fabulous news for um actors, for stagehands, for front of house, for theater employees, for every single person who has a hand goes into bringing that little bit of show to stage.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: So wonderful, wonderful.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Yep, yep, wonderful.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Um, this is kind of crazy, everything's kind of crazy right now.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: What's kind of crazy?
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Again, not really like here based, but Rachel Zegler and Ben Platt doing the last five years, a concert version of the last five years over in London.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: I don't know.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Don't forget we have our last five years fan group too.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: I did not see that coming, like from 47 years away.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: I um, I will, I didn't see that coming from 47 yards away.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Nope, I'm keeping my mouth shut.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: Um, be a good girl.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, I just, you know, I didn't see it coming.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: I didn't see it coming.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Gonna be a good girl.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: Didn't say anything, didn't say a word.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: So it's a limited run, yes.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: Um, it will have concert staging, so it's not like a full...
[33:26] Heather Bedor: I love that our Evita group has turned into the Rachel Zegler fan group.
[33:26] Amber Brzezinski: But everyone's like the tickets are gonna be a million dollars.
[33:26] Heather Bedor: Yeah, um, and we'll see because as we know, did not thrive as well as anticipated on Broadway this season.
[36:42] Amber Brzezinski: I mean, it was a limited run.
[36:45] Heather Bedor: Was a limited run, yeah.
[36:46] Amber Brzezinski: It was really interesting casting, uh, also that um, it's uh, it's a show.
[36:46] Heather Bedor: It's a show.
[36:57] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I preferred the movie version which Jeremy did sing a song from.
[37:04] Heather Bedor: Yeah, what he's saying?
[37:06] Amber Brzezinski: Uh, honestly I don't remember because my brain is complete mush right now.
[37:11] Heather Bedor: No, same, same.
[37:13] Amber Brzezinski: But you don't have a TBI, you're distressed.
[37:16] Heather Bedor: Mine's TBI stress.
[37:16] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[37:20] Amber Brzezinski: Um, yeah, so that'll, that'll be something.
[37:24] Heather Bedor: Um, that will definitely be something.
[37:26] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, it will.
[37:27] Heather Bedor: It will for sure be something.
[37:29] Amber Brzezinski: It will for sure be something.
[37:30] Amber Brzezinski: What do you guys think?
[37:30] Amber Brzezinski: Are you all?
[37:31] Amber Brzezinski: I mean, I see Jeffrey Cohen just said I'll pass.
[37:34] Amber Brzezinski: Um, are you guys looking forward to seeing anything like that?
[37:37] Amber Brzezinski: You know what has just opened in the West End that I was really looking forward to until I sort of see the nightmares coming out of it?
[37:45] Heather Bedor: Was the Hunger Games?
[37:47] Amber Brzezinski: Nope, not for me.
[37:49] Amber Brzezinski: I love the Hunger Games, didn't read the books, love the movies, had the opportunity to read the script.
[37:54] Amber Brzezinski: Like the books, didn't love the movies.
[37:57] Amber Brzezinski: The movies made maybe like the show.
[38:01] Heather Bedor: It looks interesting, but I have been looking at the photo.
[38:07] Amber Brzezinski: Ouch, I just hit my hand on the desk.
[38:09] Amber Brzezinski: That's gonna be a bruise.
[38:09] Amber Brzezinski: That's gonna be fine.
[38:11] Amber Brzezinski: Everything's fine.
[38:12] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I'm that angry apparently.
[38:14] Heather Bedor: But um, I've been looking at the photos and videos from patrons. The theater isn't even fully built out yet. Um, I think they rushed to open it, sadly. Um, but you know what's not rushing to open and has their opening night tomorrow here locally in New York.
[38:37] Amber Brzezinski: Here locally.
[38:38] Heather Bedor: Well, like in the States.
[38:40] Amber Brzezinski: In the States.
[38:41] Heather Bedor: Why are you making a face?
[38:43] Amber Brzezinski: The Phantom Tour.
[38:46] Heather Bedor: Okay, besides Phantom Tour, which by the way, did we know that Tukes was going on tour?
[38:51] Amber Brzezinski: No, I did not.
[38:53] Heather Bedor: With his wife?
[38:54] Amber Brzezinski: I'm impressed. That's adorable. I love it. I'm so excited. Congratulations to them. Make sure you guys check out our interview from several months ago with the one only Stephen Tukesberry, because he's phenomenal.
[39:06] Heather Bedor: Um, Romain Michelle's is opening tomorrow. Stage 42. And do you know what is closing very soon?
[39:16] Amber Brzezinski: What?
[39:17] Heather Bedor: Exorcistic.
[39:19] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[39:20] Heather Bedor: I don't know who the final Broadway diva is.
[39:27] Amber Brzezinski: No.
[39:28] Heather Bedor: Making their return. It's gotta be Darren.
[39:30] Amber Brzezinski: Darren's is it Darren?
[39:35] Heather Bedor: Yeah. It's a Darren Grace. And seeing Exorcistic, and I don't know if anyone who's listening in has seen Exorcistic and knowing what the diva's song and attire is. Um I I don't know if I'd be able to sit in the audience without laughing my ass off.
[39:56] Amber Brzezinski: Ugh.
[39:56] Heather Bedor: Yeah, I know. I love them so much, but I really think it's gonna start to tour. It really helps. I feel like that's where they're going with it.
[40:04] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[40:06] Heather Bedor: Speaking of uh things that are that time of year.
[40:10] Amber Brzezinski: Mm-hmm.
[40:13] Heather Bedor: It's that it's that time of year, y'all.
[40:17] Amber Brzezinski: It's a lot of times of year, yes.
[40:19] Heather Bedor: Red bucket time.
[40:21] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[40:23] Heather Bedor: So if you are at a show, that means you will see when you go to leave performers in costume holding those wonderful red buckets.
[40:38] Amber Brzezinski: Well, they're gonna do the whole like curtain call speech too.
[40:42] Heather Bedor: Yes. Um, where they will be happily accepting donations. Uh, donations for what they will tell you in a whole wonderful speech at the curtain call, um, where they will most likely have a beautiful display, poster board, maybe some show and tell items.
[41:01] Amber Brzezinski: Um the items will vary from show to show.
[41:05] Heather Bedor: What have you heard for this season so far?
[41:09] Amber Brzezinski: Because I heard I heard something interesting.
[41:11] Heather Bedor: I have not heard much to be honest.
[41:13] Amber Brzezinski: I heard Jonathan Groff's ties.
[41:16] Heather Bedor: Okay.
[41:17] Amber Brzezinski: Um, or over at Justin Time.
[41:19] Heather Bedor: Um, that's all I heard. Our Justin Time group has been spending a lot of money towards red buckets.
[41:26] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[41:27] Heather Bedor: So again, it will be things like stage used items, perhaps like that the actor has worn or something made.
[41:39] Amber Brzezinski: So like Sutton Foster was crocheting pies during Sweeney Todd. They sold those off. In Marile, uh, there was a moment where Jonathan typed on a typewriter and they would raffle off that secret note that was typed every night.
[41:54] Heather Bedor: Signed by the cast, signed by the cast. Um, there's signed playbills, uh, signed window cards, um, just various special items that the cast has either created together or signed and come together um to help raise money again for Broadway Care's Equity Fights Age, which is a very important organization that we always talk about, which is needed now more than ever, especially with the government shutdown and the cuts to things like health care and um grocery food insecurity rising.
[42:33] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, yep, 100%.
[42:35] Heather Bedor: Yes. So um, so yeah, it those red buckets are out there, and just you know, say hello, drop a dollar in if you can.
[42:45] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, just because there might be something that if you have like let's say, for example, they're saying, okay, so signed playbill signed by the cast right now is $50. If you don't have $50, if you don't have $20, if you don't have $10, but you still want to donate, they do still stand, like what Amber's saying, they will still have red buckets as you're exiting, you know, where you can purchase these items.
[43:10] Heather Bedor: You can still just throw a dollar in, even if you want to spend a hundred dollars and you don't want something for it, just do it.
[43:16] Amber Brzezinski: And they can do it with with digital cards as well.
[43:18] Heather Bedor: So you can use taps.
[43:19] Amber Brzezinski: Right, you can use tap to pay.
[43:20] Heather Bedor: Yeah, absolutely. And again, it benefits the community as a whole.
[43:26] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[43:27] Heather Bedor: So it's it's wonderful.
[43:28] Amber Brzezinski: It's wonderful.
[43:30] Heather Bedor: So, should we acknowledge some of the questions in our comment section right now just to answer?
[43:36] Amber Brzezinski: Sure.
[43:37] Heather Bedor: So Jeffrey Conn, will the Queen of Versailles go the way of Tammy Faye?
[43:41] Amber Brzezinski: I'm assuming you mean with like a shorter closing.
[43:44] Heather Bedor: I think that's hard to answer. Um, I think when you mix politics and Broadway, it can go either way. Um, their socials haven't seemed as strong as I would have thought, but you also can't judge a book by its cover.
[43:59] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I haven't heard much great things or much bad things about it, but you do have Chris and Tennow within the lead, so I can't see that going as quickly as Tammy Faye, in my opinion.
[44:13] Heather Bedor: What about you, Amber?
[44:15] Amber Brzezinski: I feel similarly. Um, you know, Steven Schwartz as well.
[44:21] Heather Bedor: Um, however, I do think that the subject matter of the show itself is a tough sell, especially right now.
[44:38] Amber Brzezinski: Um do you want to go deeper into that in our last minute?
[44:44] Heather Bedor: Exact this exact moment in time.
[44:49] Amber Brzezinski: It's just a tough, yeah.
[44:52] Heather Bedor: It's a tough subject matter where people are like, oh, this wealthy person loses all their money, but they get it back in the end, yeah.
[45:02] Amber Brzezinski: And meanwhile, people are not it's hard to do a show where like with Queen of Versailles people from Central Florida that lived through it that have seen it, like friends of mine were like, I feel like I'm in Wintermere, like we've lived through this.
[45:23] Heather Bedor: Um Jackie Siegel was just not a likable person to begin with, right?
[45:29] Amber Brzezinski: So when you don't have like a hero to kind of cheer on and like right, yeah, exactly.
[45:37] Heather Bedor: Exactly. I think that's hard.
[45:39] Amber Brzezinski: It's a lot of extravagance.
[45:41] Heather Bedor: Um like people are I think people a lot of people are like why are we celebrating Jackie Siegel to begin with and I and I that was kind of my thing when the I did not want to see the documentary when it came out several years ago and a friend of mine because they were only playing it in one theater in all of Central Florida um which was kind of like the like artsy theater that doesn't play regular releases and a friend of mine was driving from like almost two hours away to come see it and they were like do you want to come see it and I'm like I no interest well I already bought you a ticket.
[46:14] Amber Brzezinski: Okay let me go watch this train wreck and sat through it because I had at one point worked at Westgate um which is the resorts that they owned um and own um and I also knew so many people who were involved in so many things.
[46:28] Heather Bedor: We're talking about the same company that during an election um was somebody that is currently our president now not during this current election but the previous one that people were sent emails that said if you do not vote for this specific candidate you will lose your job.
[46:46] Amber Brzezinski: Oh yeah like um they're just like not good people at all and like so like I'm I'm a big true crime fan but like I am also a person who suffers from PTSD from an act of violence.
[47:06] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[47:07] Amber Brzezinski: So my preferred true crime is like blue collar crime or you know like bank heists or robberies or you know things of that nature.
[47:21] Heather Bedor: Like I like that type of crime.
[47:25] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[47:25] Heather Bedor: So I was interested in the Queen of Versailles documentary because it kind of fits that profile.
[47:31] Amber Brzezinski: And I have to tell you, like one of the things that like really stuck out to me was that she like was like, oh, we like donate our old queen bed sheets that we like don't um use in our like hotels or whatever.
[47:48] Heather Bedor: Yeah, donate them.
[47:49] Amber Brzezinski: But then she was like, sell she was like, these are fifty dollars, and like that was her like thought of donating them was like selling them for fifty dollars.
[47:57] Heather Bedor: Now I was just that's information from someone who's seen the show that we all know and love.
[48:04] Amber Brzezinski: Um I was told the daughter and the niece are the most likable people and they're who you're rooting for, but it's still hard.
[48:10] Heather Bedor: Um Chris Levy, you already know I'm talking about you, but Chris also got a chance to see Bo, who said Bo was phenomenal.
[48:18] Amber Brzezinski: I've been hearing great things already.
[48:20] Heather Bedor: Um I've been hearing a lot of good things about and the baker's wife, like Chris had a weekend, which is amazing.
[48:26] Amber Brzezinski: Um I've also heard really cool things about the production of Into the Woods that is in the woods.
[48:35] Heather Bedor: Yeah, I'm still waiting for a member to let us know about it so we can talk more about it effectively because neither one of us has seen it.
[48:41] Amber Brzezinski: Um I've heard like I've heard through uh someone who heard like I saw some like behind like some videos and it looks really cool.
[48:52] Heather Bedor: We'll see.
[48:53] Amber Brzezinski: We'll see how it goes.
[48:54] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[48:54] Amber Brzezinski: Uh Jeffrey Conan, what about the new chess book?
[48:57] Heather Bedor: I personally haven't seen chess yet.
[48:58] Amber Brzezinski: I know Amber has it yet.
[49:00] Heather Bedor: I know that members that have seen it, there's a lot of things they love. There's things that are not the norm, so they're questioning it.
[49:06] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and exciting news is that we have we have a big announcement coming up the next couple of weeks, uh, very much directly related to that.
[49:14] Heather Bedor: So stay tuned for that. Um, but um, you know, chess obviously, you know, they did extend they had originally anticipated to I think run through March and now they will be going through May.
[49:34] Amber Brzezinski: So um, not surprising that this show is already a huge they're gonna be pushing, they're gonna be pushing to go towards the Tonies, of course.
[49:45] Heather Bedor: And we can say we knew Nick way back when, you know, like it's adorable.
[49:51] Amber Brzezinski: So I'm excited to see it.
[49:53] Heather Bedor: Um, and even the music videos that have been coming out have been great.
[49:56] Amber Brzezinski: That's something that's fun that's been trending too.
[49:58] Heather Bedor: God, I'm getting loud on my own head. I'm so like my headache is like, shut up.
[50:03] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but a lot of social media is starting to do these like music videos on on like locations.
[50:11] Heather Bedor: So Heather's, which by the way, just announced the US tour.
[50:15] Amber Brzezinski: Oh my god, um, all sorts of crazy stuff.
[50:19] Heather Bedor: But um, they just had JD and Veronica, so Lorna Um they they and Casey just went into a 7-Eleven to do freeze your brain.
[50:29] Amber Brzezinski: Yep.
[50:29] Heather Bedor: And then they just did this like beautiful music video of Aaron doing one night in Bangkok.
[50:34] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and we were just talking about even tours, uh, the notebook, they um they just did the first national tour version of my days, which is yeah, beautiful.
[50:46] Heather Bedor: Um, it's like a nice, it's a little different than uh the original version.
[50:51] Amber Brzezinski: It's like down in octave, so it's really really nice to hear.
[50:54] Heather Bedor: Yeah, it's been an interesting kind of transition to see what's going on.
[50:57] Amber Brzezinski: And like um had a conversation with somebody a couple of days ago, and we're like social media is not what it used to be, and we always talk about that.
[51:07] Amber Brzezinski: Like TikToks and viral videos do not sell tickets, you know, it's the fans, it's what we try to create here with our communities.
[51:17] Amber Brzezinski: Um, you know, that's why we run these fan groups because especially now, I think we all need that sense of community. It's so important.
[51:25] Amber Brzezinski: Um, you know, even when you're down, like I'm I'm feeling like my migraine is literally making me want to like close my eyes and lay down right now. But like I'm here and I'm talking about something I love with people I love, and I think it's so important to like take some time for yourself and be able to, you know, focus on on who you've got around you. So remember that.
[51:47] Amber Brzezinski: Chris says, let's see. I love that they do these videos. Now we need a 24-7 Broadway musicals channel that plays those with all the pro shots and interview shows and every bit of content they can find and create.
[51:59] Heather Bedor: So Chris, if we can find an investor, I'm totally down for that. They actually used to have a couple of things like that.
[52:05] Heather Bedor: I mean, Broadway HG is nothing like that. Um but yeah, I mean, there's there's so many things, and technically, if you want to do Broadway 24-7, we do have now like 75 episodes of the show right here.
[52:19] Heather Bedor: Uh and you can go to it's a great segue, www.onlybroadwayfans.com to go right to our Broadway Podcast Network page and listen to all of our shows or watch all of our shows.
[52:31] Heather Bedor: And then it's kind of 24 hours a day.
[52:34] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, kind of for for a good couple of days.
[52:38] Amber Brzezinski: But so Amber, you said you're moving this weekend.
[52:43] Heather Bedor: Hollow weekend, you are moving.
[52:45] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah. I don't know if I'm what I'm doing.
[52:50] Amber Brzezinski: I just don't know.
[52:52] Amber Brzezinski: I just don't know. You have your cute costume on.
[52:55] Amber Brzezinski: I uh I'm waiting to wear my Carrie costume somewhere. And if not, I will just wear comfy Halloween pajamas and watch scary movies.
[53:06] Heather Bedor: Hell yeah.
[53:07] Heather Bedor: And wait for the rainstorms to stop or to sleep.
[53:10] Amber Brzezinski: Oh yeah.
[53:11] Heather Bedor: Oh yeah.
[53:14] Amber Brzezinski: But um, and yes.
[53:16] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, I I need to let everybody know about the incredible prizes from Final Strike Collaborative.
[53:21] Amber Brzezinski: It's a list of things. Um, so let me read through through all of emails.
[53:27] Amber Brzezinski: Uh standby.
[53:31] Amber Brzezinski: I don't know.
[53:32] Amber Brzezinski: Uh-uh.
[53:34] Amber Brzezinski: Okay.
[53:36] Amber Brzezinski: So it's going to be a choice of a couple of things.
[53:41] Amber Brzezinski: It's so many emails. Hold on.
[53:44] Amber Brzezinski: And they will officially be joining us on the 17th.
[53:48] Amber Brzezinski: So we can thank them then.
[53:50] Amber Brzezinski: So you're going to get a choice of the following.
[53:55] Amber Brzezinski: And depends on who wins. It's gonna be your choice.
[53:58] Amber Brzezinski: So they have a pair of earrings from each of the most popular collections right now.
[54:04] Amber Brzezinski: So the notebook, the musical. They are earrings made from back painted plexi glass on the walls of the Broadway set.
[54:11] Amber Brzezinski: Umfs the musical, earrings made from the flooring of the Broadway set.
[54:16] Amber Brzezinski: Cool. Hamilton earrings made from retired muskets from the Broadway production.
[54:21] Amber Brzezinski: Each pair is handmade by artists in the studio in New York out of materials that come directly from the legacy shows.
[54:27] Amber Brzezinski: The notebook and stuff's earrings are also available on the website amidst the other collection items, but the Hamilton ones are exclusive to partnerships only.
[54:36] Amber Brzezinski: So things like us and the only other place that you can purchase them would be from Broadway Up Close's booth in Times Square for now.
[54:43] Amber Brzezinski: Um so that's it.
[54:45] Amber Brzezinski: So there's literally two pairs, one made for us and one made for uh Broadway Up Close, and then uh they are also finishing up a collection of earrings from Back to the Future, and we'll sew a tote bag from one of the backdrops from Gypsy, as well as there are a couple of other options if you do not wear earrings or not an earrings fan, cutting boards from the public, wooden coasters from the public, and painted tote bags from the Today Show.
[55:13] Amber Brzezinski: So thank you to Carly and Lacey, and hopefully we'll be able to thank them when they're here on the 17th.
[55:22] Amber Brzezinski: To enter, all you have to do is after the show is over, we will make a post for an entrance, and you guys get the heads up because you guys are the only ones that are gonna have the special word for tonight's episode, and we'll do this for tonight and next week's episode, and we'll do our final drawing um the week before.
[55:42] Heather Bedor: So tonight's word is Amber.
[55:47] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, I get to pick the word, yeah.
[55:51] Amber Brzezinski: Um, tonight's words tonight's word is tombstone.
[56:11] Heather Bedor: Ooh, tombstone.
[56:13] Amber Brzezinski: Okay, so you guys heard it here for. Make sure you are following us on Facebook on our actual page or the groups that you're amongst.
[56:23] Amber Brzezinski: So again, you can go to www.thebroadwayfanclub.com. Look for the specific contest post and comment the word tombstone.
[56:34] Amber Brzezinski: And we know who's here and who's not here. So if someone starts copying you guys, the word is amber.
[56:39] Heather Bedor: Jeffrey Cohen's know the word is tombstone.
[56:42] Amber Brzezinski: I was trying to make like a Halloweeny spooky.
[56:44] Amber Brzezinski: I would have said bats because they're on top of your head.
[56:47] Heather Bedor: Well, that's why I didn't want to make it too obvious because I feel like people are just gonna look at the video and be like, oh, it's bats.
[56:52] Amber Brzezinski: It's freaking bats. There's nothing wrong with that.
[56:56] Heather Bedor: Anyways, so the word is tombstone. Make sure you guys go ahead and put that through.
[57:00] Amber Brzezinski: Umce we see that over the next couple of days, we will then put that to our wheel of names.
[57:07] Amber Brzezinski: And then next week we'll have an additional uh word.
[57:10] Amber Brzezinski: If you are part of our Patreon, you will actually get a bonus word.
[57:14] Amber Brzezinski: The more times you can enter the better, obviously.
[57:17] Amber Brzezinski: So make sure you go to patreon.com slash the Broadway FanClub and make sure you sign up for a Patreon.
[57:23] Amber Brzezinski: You'll be emailed that special word of the day. patreon.com slash the Broadway FanClub.
[57:29] Amber Brzezinski: Um, yeah, and that pretty much takes you to it now because our Etsy shop is closed.
[57:33] Heather Bedor: You can't get a word that way, but you will once that opens for other giveaways in the future.
[57:38] Amber Brzezinski: True that.
[57:39] Heather Bedor: So I am going to hide away from this is the light, it's literally just from my computer.
[57:44] Amber Brzezinski: This I'm gonna do this for a second. This is how dark my whole house is, and I'm more than okay with it right now in my green brain.
[57:53] Heather Bedor: So do you have a favorite post from the week?
[57:53] Amber Brzezinski: Favorite post from the week. I mean, can I say that it's it's from our our group, like our Facebook or our our podcast right now?
[58:05] Heather Bedor: Sure.
[58:06] Amber Brzezinski: Um yeah, for my Phoenix song, we're always so happy that we can create a a welcoming and safe group.
[58:13] Amber Brzezinski: Um, that you get help, like that you're able to get the assistance that you need. We're here to create those kind of community spaces for sure.
[58:22] Amber Brzezinski: Um to take to take a cop out and use one from our group.
[58:26] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I love that everyone's starting to show their kids dressed up as Mal.
[58:31] Amber Brzezinski: I love that too. And like they're like knowing every word and getting very artsy and and doing a performance for it.
[58:38] Heather Bedor: What about you?
[58:39] Amber Brzezinski: The cosplay in Death Becomes Her is definitely like on and popping.
[58:44] Amber Brzezinski: So that is like really going off. Like there is some really cool stuff in the Death Becomes Her group right now.
[58:51] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and then like I don't know, like is this like can I even can I say like my own post?
[58:57] Heather Bedor: Yes.
[58:58] Amber Brzezinski: Um because I saw a tweet, not a tweet, um uh thread threads um on threads yesterday and I posted it to Fleet Street because it I cr I I got it immediately and it cracked me up and I was the funniest thing.
[59:17] Amber Brzezinski: Do you want to show it to everybody?
[59:19] Heather Bedor: No, I'll just say it.
[59:20] Amber Brzezinski: It was just like someone that was just like oh yikes on following him now, was a big fan of his hairstyling, was not aware about the pies.
[59:29] Heather Bedor: And I was like, Oh, they're talking about sweetie Josh.
[59:32] Amber Brzezinski: And this was not this was not on a Broadway thing.
[59:34] Heather Bedor: No, it was just like a random, like writ and people in the comments were like, What is the context?
[59:34] Amber Brzezinski: Like, what is the context?
[59:41] Amber Brzezinski: And finally, like someone like put a picture of like Johnny Depp, but I was like, I'm dead.
[59:45] Heather Bedor: Like, this is like so funny.
[59:47] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[59:47] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[59:48] Amber Brzezinski: It was it was good.
[59:49] Heather Bedor: It's great though.
[59:52] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[59:54] Heather Bedor: So yeah.
[59:55] Amber Brzezinski: Everyone be safe this Halloween.
[59:57] Amber Brzezinski: Make good choices.
[59:59] Heather Bedor: Or bad choices.
[1:00:00] Amber Brzezinski: Cause then we have to do it.
[1:00:01] Heather Bedor: Bad choices.
[1:00:02] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[1:00:03] Amber Brzezinski: You have to trademark your closing when the theater is closed on Monday where you're here or something like that, Jeffrey Cohen.
[1:00:11] Heather Bedor: We're not done yet.
[1:00:12] Amber Brzezinski: We're just still talking.
[1:00:13] Amber Brzezinski: He's trying to get us to go away.
[1:00:15] Heather Bedor: So, Amber, what else is gonna say?
[1:00:19] Amber Brzezinski: That's it.
[1:00:20] Amber Brzezinski: That's it for me.
[1:00:21] Amber Brzezinski: Amber, do you want to let everybody know who's here next week, or do I need to remind them who's gonna be joining us?
[1:00:27] Heather Bedor: Next week is the Darius De Haas.
[1:00:33] Amber Brzezinski: Third, the third.
[1:00:34] Heather Bedor: The third.
[1:00:36] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so Darius is gonna be joining us.
[1:00:43] Heather Bedor: Um, his name might sound familiar. He was part of one of my favorite movies of all time, Anastasia.
[1:00:48] Amber Brzezinski: He was also in Chicago under the Greenwood, Broadway celebrate celebrates Marvelous Mrs.
[1:00:54] Amber Brzezinski: Mazel, um, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Rent.
[1:00:57] Amber Brzezinski: I mean, just freaking everything.
[1:00:59] Heather Bedor: Carousel, shuffle along.
[1:01:01] Amber Brzezinski: Um, resume for days, resume for days.
[1:01:05] Heather Bedor: And can I say um, if you were a fan of the yes, the Darius Dahasy, yes, Chris, yes, next Monday.
[1:01:14] Amber Brzezinski: Um, if you watch the Marvelous Mrs. Mazel, he was also the singing voice of Shy Baldwin.
[1:01:20] Heather Bedor: Hello.
[1:01:21] Amber Brzezinski: So I mean so many things.
[1:01:22] Amber Brzezinski: I'm in a fangirl, just a smidge.
[1:01:24] Heather Bedor: I'm so sorry.
[1:01:25] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but it's happening, so yes, he will be here.
[1:01:28] Heather Bedor: Um so freaking excited.
[1:01:31] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and then after that, do you remember who's gonna be here?
[1:01:35] Heather Bedor: Uh I do.
[1:01:36] Amber Brzezinski: Go ahead.
[1:01:37] Heather Bedor: That will be the 10th, and that will be our friend Ken Wolf Clark, who was just on Broadway as the understudy for Jacob Jekowski and is now on the national tour of the notebook.
[1:01:51] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[1:01:51] Heather Bedor: And what did you do?
[1:01:53] Amber Brzezinski: You did that.
[1:01:53] Amber Brzezinski: That's your first actual number booking.
[1:01:57] Heather Bedor: And then the next week we will have the rebooking of tonight's show.
[1:02:05] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, and after that we will have uh Final Strike Collaborative.
[1:02:09] Heather Bedor: Hopefully they will feel better and be in the country and I will feel better.
[1:02:13] Amber Brzezinski: And Amber will be done moving.
[1:02:15] Heather Bedor: And I just realized our Patreon is still up.
[1:02:17] Amber Brzezinski: So yes, join our Patreon.
[1:02:18] Heather Bedor: That's important.
[1:02:19] Amber Brzezinski: But please, guys, yes, as Jeffrey Cohen wanted to remind us, we're here every single Monday night because when Broadway is dark, we keep the ghost light burning.
[1:02:28] Heather Bedor: We love you guys.
[1:02:29] Amber Brzezinski: Happy freaking Halloween.
[1:02:31] Heather Bedor: Amber.
[1:02:33] Amber Brzezinski: I might say it's freaking bats because I love your headpiece.
[1:02:36] Heather Bedor: Um I'm gonna enjoy I'm I'm sad that my Bucky short is not glowing in the dark, but it's cute and it's spooky.
[1:02:45] Amber Brzezinski: And uh I'm gonna probably go watch some ghost shows now.
[1:02:48] Heather Bedor: And Amber's gonna go watch some finances because that's what she does.
[1:02:52] Amber Brzezinski: I'll finish working because I'm not done.
[1:02:55] Heather Bedor: That's your own damn fault.
[1:02:56] Amber Brzezinski: Um that's fair.
[1:03:00] Heather Bedor: Yes.
[1:03:01] Amber Brzezinski: Uh do all the things and the stuff, everybody, and make sure you start to look at our socials because we're gonna be doing Halloween costumed contest too um for some of our larger groups.

[1:03:39] Amber Brzezinski: I'll make a post. You guys can show us the costume.
