About

Filmmaker Andrew Boodhoo Kightlinger on behalf of his upcoming adventure film LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE, produced by Sylvester Stallone and in theaters nationwide from Blue Fox Entertainment on November 1st.

LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE is a classic American movie we don’t see much of anymore — an emotional epic tale of hope, grit, and family, chiseled with a modern edge and grounded by a tour-de-force performance from 15-year-old star Luke David Blumm.

Based on the book by the same name (which is required reading for Maine elementary school students), LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE tells the inspiring true story of Donn Fendler, a 12-year-old boy, who, separated from his family by a fast-moving storm, must fight to stay alive during his nine-day adventure lost in the backwoods of Maine.

The film was shot in ACTUAL wilderness — up to their neck in rivers, hiking mountains — everyday on set, the cast and crew hoisted the banner for Stallone’s underdog ethos.

Before taking on the project, director Andrew Boodhoo Kightlinger even had to hike Mount Katahdin (the Maine mountain Donn Fendler got lost on) to prove he was up for the task.

Born and raised in Madagascar and later living in South Dakota, Andrew Boodhoo Kightlinger’s multi-cultural origins have fueled a prolific genre-fluid approach to storytelling. Growing up in Madagascar in the 1980s, there was a footlocker full of movies that traveled around from missionary family to missionary family, and it was a trove of Joe Dante movies that taught Andrew about filmmaking and led him on his path to becoming a director.

In addition to LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE, Kightlinger has directed the prairie-bound drama TATER TOT & PATTON starring Jessica Rothe and the award-winning short film DESTROYER with Alan Ruck. He is also the winner of the Screenwriting Grand Prize at the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival.

LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE stars Luke David Blumm (“The Watcher”), Paul Sparks (“House of Cards”), Caitlin FitzGerald (The Trial of the Chicago 7, “Succession”), Griffin Wallace Henkel (Armageddon Time), and Ethan Slater (Universal’s upcoming Wicked).

You can check out the official trailer and learn more at the film’s official website.
