[0:19] Myles Erlick: Thanks for having me, Robert! I'm really excited to be here and share my journey with everyone.

[0:39] Robert Bannon: Absolutely! You've had such a diverse career, from Broadway to television and now venturing into country music. What inspired you to take this leap into songwriting and recording?

[0:59] Myles Erlick: Well, I've always had a passion for music, but it wasn't until recently that I felt ready to share my own songs. I wanted to create something that truly represents who I am and where I come from.

[1:19] Robert Bannon: That's amazing! Can you tell us a bit about the process of making HANDCRAFTED? What was it like working with producers like Dann Huff and David Huff?

[1:39] Myles Erlick: Working with Dann and David was incredible. They really helped me refine my sound and bring my vision to life. It was a collaborative process, and I learned so much from them.

[1:59] Robert Bannon: It sounds like a fantastic experience! What themes or stories can listeners expect to hear on the album?

[2:19] Myles Erlick: The album is very personal to me. It explores themes of growth, love, and finding your place in the world. Each song has its own story, and I hope listeners can connect with them on a deeper level.

[2:39] Robert Bannon: I love that! It's so important for artists to share their authentic selves through their work. How has your background in acting influenced your music?

[2:59] Myles Erlick: My acting background has definitely shaped my approach to songwriting. I think storytelling is at the heart of both acting and music, and I try to bring that narrative quality into my songs.

[3:19] Robert Bannon: That's a great perspective! You've also made Nashville your home. How has the city influenced your music and your journey as an artist?

[3:39] Myles Erlick: Nashville has such a rich musical culture, and being surrounded by so many talented artists has inspired me immensely. It's a place where creativity thrives, and I feel like I've found my community here.

[4:08] Robert Bannon: It sounds like you're in the perfect place to grow as an artist! What are you most excited about as you release HANDCRAFTED to the world?

[4:28] Myles Erlick: I'm just excited for people to hear the music and hopefully connect with it. It's been a labor of love, and I can't wait to share it with everyone.

[8:08] Myles Erlick: I always want to go outside of the box and I always want to push the limit. And I think coming to moving to Nashville, I mean, I knew no one when I came here. I mean, five, five and a half years ago, when I came here, I packed my car up. Um, I drove down, I knew absolutely no one. And I came down here and, and, and it was, it was, it was lonely, man. It was lonely. And I didn't know many people, but I knew that I needed to be here because something spoke to me, the energy here in town. I mean, I, there's a lot of people here that can relate to this. It's like, there's just something about this town that is really hard to put into words. But when I got here, I just knew that I needed to be here and I stuck through it and I pushed through a lot of lows, a lot of highs. Um, but I've, you know, I've met a lot of amazing people here and, and it's just been, it's been a journey, but this is where I need to be for sure.

[8:56] Robert Bannon: I love it. You have to everybody go, go to his website, follow him on social media while we're talking and get the album on the fourth and stream it and listen to it. The singles are out. Make sure you check it out and be there. I love your journey. And when I say, and that's exactly what I meant when I say starting over again, going to start a new, new chapter and a new era and piece of your life. You dance too. So if I come to see a live show, even though you're playing guitar, these are your songs. Can you help it? Are you just, is that still a part of your live shows? Is that part of what you're going to give?

[9:36] Myles Erlick: Oh man, I'm running across the stage and I'm dancing. I'm, I'm flipping on stage. Like I'm, I am not, I'm not holding any of that back because that's who I am. That's who I am. And of course the music is so important to me and the musicianship and, and that's, that's all there when we play shows. But I mean, you know where I came from and so I can't help it when I get on a stage and I feel the energy and you know, and my music has a lot of energy to it. I mean, there's, there's a lot of music that's got, you know, a little slower, a little more soul, but then there's some big energy stuff. And like, when that, that stuff happens, I just can't help it. And, and I just love, I just love running around performing and it's just, that's just who I am. And I think that, I think the crowd likes it too. So I think that's why they come. That's why they're here.

[10:17] Robert Bannon: You have not put in an album, out an album in like eight years.

[10:21] Myles Erlick: Like me was in 2018. Yep. That's right.

[10:25] Robert Bannon: And people may have heard or listened to your song called all day, all night. I don't know what happened to Tate McRae. I, maybe she's working on the Burger King. So I don't know where Tate McRae is nowadays. Hey, I don't know. Where is she? Where is she? I wonder whatever happens. We have to give her a call.

[10:40] Myles Erlick: She was out here and then I don't know. She has blown up to be the biggest thing in the world.

[10:45] Robert Bannon: She has. And this album thing for you. What about people who say, Miles, I don't like country music. I don't like singer songwriter style. I'm afraid he lives in Nashville now. Did he change his sound? Is he going to, am I going to lose the like of it? Is there something you could say? Is this music for everybody?

[11:02] Myles Erlick: This music is absolutely for everybody. Absolutely. Because I I'm not trying to be something I'm not. I grew up in the country. I mean, I grew up in the country. My, my, my parents had a farm for a long time and that's something that a lot of people know about me. And I grew up on country music. I grew up on rock and roll. I grew up on pop music. Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Chuck Berry, Elvis, all of this music is what shaped me. And this music is, this album that I made is not something that's, you know, fake and, and I'm trying to be something I'm not. It's, it's who I am and it's me. And, and I just wanted people to hear that. And I think people will appreciate that.

[11:42] Robert Bannon: I love it. I want to go, you have really good, whoever does your website and whoever makes your merch has really good looking merch. Go to his website, everybody. This hoodie, this handcrafted hoodie with the work, with the songs on the back. That's some good work. People need, I need the hat.

[12:02] Myles Erlick: We're going to have to get you some. We'll hook you up.

[12:05] Robert Bannon: Everybody. Look, you got to go to the website. You got to go to social media and you got to get yourself the whole collection to wear to the shows. Is the plan to take this on the road? Are we going to do some shows?

[12:14] Myles Erlick: We are. We are. I mean, I actually, you know, I've been playing a couple of shows this summer. Some really cool stuff has been happening, but we were gearing up for 2027 to be, you know, I'm going to be on the road and that's going to be the plan. And we want to get out there. I want to play for as many people as possible. So that's going to be, that's in the works right now.

[12:31] Robert Bannon: That's incredible. So we've got to follow a stay up to date before I let you go. So how are you going to differentiate and departmentalize your life? You have this incredible giant album that's coming out. You have live shows coming out. I'm sure you get offers. I'm sure you get auditions and self tapes or, or, or just flat up phone calls to say, I want you on television. I want you to dance. I want you to do a movie. So how are you, how do you juggle it all? How will you juggle it all in the future? You're not giving any of it up.

[12:55] Myles Erlick: No, I'm not giving any of it up at all. And you're absolutely right. There's always lots of things on the go and there's lots of, of, uh, there's lots of auditions, lots of different offers and TV and even Broadway stuff, you know, of, of some offers there as well. But I think one thing that I know is that I, I want to try to do all of it. And I think there's a time when you just need to, you know, you need to focus on this for a little bit and then you move to here and then you move to here and there's a way of doing it all rather than just kind of putting everything to the side and forgetting about it. I just love performing and I love performing on stage or in front of a camera and getting that opportunity is just something I'm super grateful for. So I think it's just one day at a time that's most important, but also, I mean, I got big dreams, I got big goals and that's important to have and you have to think about those.

[13:42] Robert Bannon: So I know you have a big party coming up in Nashville to celebrate. What's it going to feel like at midnight, the night that this comes out, that now your baby is, it's part of the world. It's up for the world now to take a listen.

[13:56] Myles Erlick: Yeah. It's so funny. Like that feeling, I've been thinking about that feeling for a while now about when that clock hits and the songs are out there to the world. And it's, it's so cool, man. I, it's really hard to explain like how I've been thinking about it a lot. It's funny you brought, brought that up and I'm just, I'm so excited. I'm so, I'm so proud of this record. And just like I said before, it feels like, I don't know, my whole life and everything I've done is just kind of led up to where I am right now. And I'm excited for the world to have this piece of music, this piece of work. And, and it's funny, this music will outlive all of us and that's so cool about music. It's just, that's so crazy to, to fathom that, but I'm, I'm excited for it. And I think that's, that's the best thing I can say.

[14:39] Robert Bannon: You know, I don't know, I guess, cause you're in Nashville and it's timely and we're taping this on the 26th of August. You know, I was, when I was thinking about Dolly Parton and Nashville in particular, the music, her legacy lives on through the music and through the work. And it will live way longer than I'm alive. It will live for eternity. And when you make, when you make good art that touches people's lives and tell stories that they need to hear, that's the legacy you're leaving with this album and with all of your work is that it will be enjoyed for forever.
