They've captured hearts, made people laugh, and built a passionate online community by simply being themselves. Now, Kasaun & Amari are coming to The Roundtable!
This week, Robert Bannon welcomes the viral social media couple for a special conversation that goes beyond the videos, the comments, and the cameras.
Known for their hilarious relationship moments, playful chemistry, lifestyle adventures, and unapologetically authentic personalities, Kasaun & Amari have created an online world where love and laughter take center stage.
From their Atlanta home base to audiences across social media, the couple has built a following that celebrates their chemistry, their humor, and their willingness to share their lives with the world.
But who are Kasaun & Amari when the cameras stop rolling?
In one of their first interview appearances, Robert gets to know the two personalities behind the viral moments. We're talking about their love story, how they found their audience, what it's really like to build a public platform as a couple, and how they balance their relationship with the demands of creating content.
The conversation also explores the importance of visibility and representation, particularly as two Black gay men sharing their love story openly with the world.
And, of course, there is plenty of laughter along the way!
What makes their relationship work? How do they handle the attention that comes with internet fame? What's something fans would be surprised to learn about them? And what do they hope comes next?
It's a chance to see another side of a couple so many people have come to know through their screens.
Two personalities. One love story. A whole lot of laughs.
Whether you've followed Kasaun & Amari from the beginning or you're just discovering them, this is a conversation about connection, authenticity, relationships, and finding joy in being exactly who you are.

It's The Roundtable with me, Robert Bannon.
[0:31] Robert Bannon: Well, everybody, welcome to The Roundtable. My name is Robert Bannon. You're listening to us on Broadway World, The Broadway Podcast Network, iHeart, Spotify. I've never worn a headset, but I'm at my day job, and this is my lunch, and I feel like I'm a telemarketer. I feel like I'm a little old lady in a little cubicle. I'm giving this group, the cubicle old lady look today. Look, I found them on TikTok, Instagram. I found them somewhere where they were talking about the things that annoy each other, and then the things they love about each other, and I started to think about my own house, and I was like, oh, I have a list of all of these things. I have love and annoyance and all the things, and I need to find out more, so I've been following them.
They're here. Kasaun and Amari are here, and you should be following them because they make me smile. I don't care where you live, who you love, what ethnic background you are, what gender you are. They're for everybody, and they are giving good content and fun. Thank you for being here.
[1:28] Kasaun: Thank you for having us.
[1:29] Amari: Thank you so much. We're excited.
[1:31] Robert Bannon: I'm so honored you said yes because, you know, I love people on social media that come up with something and build a connection and a relationship with people, and they see each other. So Amari, how did this start, and how did you two decide we're going to put our business out in the street?
[1:45] Amari: Right. Well, so Kasaun and I attended Florida State University together for about a year and a half. We were on the track team, and our relationship started off a bit private, but I think like one random day, we just decided to do like a getting to know us video at your house.
[2:02] Kasaun: Yeah. After going to Chick-fil-A.
[2:07] Amari: Yeah, after like going to Chick-fil-A, but we put it on like Kasaun's personal Instagram page. At the time, I think they had like something called like IGTV or something, and it kind of blew up on social media, so we just had a conversation. We're like, hey, like we should kind of do YouTube. Let's do this thing together. In the midst of that, though, I also was like doing TikTok, just a bunch of TikToks for fun, and Kasaun was like, he kind of found my TikToks funny. We're like, let's do something together, and I remember we did this one Norbit video.
[2:37] Kasaun: Which one was it? Was it like, by the poolside?
[2:43] Amari: Yeah, like the poolside, where she was like, I don't weigh like 300 pounds. And we put it on TikTok, and it like blew up, so that kind of is like what started this whole like social media journey for us, and the rest is history.
[3:02] Robert Bannon: Kasaun, what is it like when you wake up, and you see, you know, a hundred thousand, combined there's almost a million, millions, hundreds of thousands, billions of views, millions of people following, like literally, like the numbers are crazy. Is it scary? Is it exciting? What's it feel like for it to connect and hit?
[3:16] Kasaun: It feels like, oh my god, we got to keep doing this. So let me tell you, I am someone, Amari had convinced me to do this, like I wasn't really big on social media. I do like pictures. I like taking pictures, and that's all I like, the post art pictures, but the more I saw our followers grow, I was like, oh, so we're really doing this, like we have to keep going. Like Amari and I are fairly private, and like we kind of, we have a really close bond relationship, so a lot of our stuff is just with each other, and even now, I feel like people only know like 30% of us, because the other 70% is just, you know, it's just us being us. So when I wake, to answer your question, when I wake up, I'm like, oh shit, you got to keep going.
[3:56] Amari: Thanks.
[3:57] Robert Bannon: Amari, when you guys were both Division One athletes, is what it's, I read you both were Division One athletes, a story about, I'm not trying to get all in your business, but was being out in the public together for your family and friends, was your coming out stories good, bad, hard, easy? What was your journey both individually about where you are and who you are today?
[4:18] Amari: Before I met Kasaun, I was actually not out. I was pretty DL, as they call it, down low or whatever, and I was very private about my dating life. I only publicly dated women, and then when I met Kasaun, I was just like, oh, like I have, I had dealings with guys before him, of course, but when I seen him, I'm like, okay, like I don't know, it's something about him that was like special or something that was different. I wanted to just approach him. So my coming out story kind of has something to do with us dating, us dating for about two and a half years, and I remember when I had our job opportunity to move to New York on Valentine's Day, we was like, you know what, like, let's just put this out there. Like, let's just show the world, like our family and friends kind of knew for the most part, but we were just like, you know what, let's, let's publicly like, you know, lock this down.
[5:14] Kasaun: Yeah, and that's pretty much like my coming out story.
[5:20] Amari: Yeah, 2023.
[5:21] Robert Bannon: What about you, Kasaun?
[5:22] Kasaun: Oh, you know, leave it to the white guy. Not all black people look alike, everybody. Good night.
[5:28] Amari: Right.
[5:29] Kasaun: You know, I came out in stages. So I have, I was the youngest of like three in the beginning, and then my mom had two other children. And my oldest brother, my oldest sister also like came out before me. So my mom was just looking at me like, you next or what's going on? So I was like, yeah, so that kind of happened when I was in high school. I was, I pretty much came out to my family, but publicly, similar to Amari, it was more so like, I would say I was more in the public like than Amari was before coming out. So people, I just kind of didn't really talk about it much. But I just knew that when I met him, I'm like, I want to really like tell the world, like we do this every day, like we, and we can make it within each other's family, a group and I like our friends, like what's, what's, what's it to tell everyone else?
[6:20] Amari: Yeah.
[6:21] Kasaun: And it wasn't easy. Like when we went to Florida State together, like it was a lot of like this turmoil with the team, like the team found out and Kasaun was like one of the top sprinters. I was like one of the only like mid-distance runners that he was literally trying to like break us apart. Like it felt like our relationship was a distraction.
[6:40] Amari: Yeah.
[6:41] Kasaun: So that was a bit much, but I think that made us closer because we had to lean on each other during that time.
[6:44] Robert Bannon: That story is incredible that you all have been together, made it through and had you grew together. They're babies, everybody, like I'm 1006 years old. They're babies, I'll be 43, I could be their father. So they are literally like their, their, their story is so inspiring. What I love about it is that I know they're young youth, you know, I, I'm a teacher in Detroit. I have kids who come to me, culturally, different parts of the country, different people, religion backgrounds, they struggle with who they are. And when I see you both have this loving, sweet relationship online, where it's not a stereotypical, the narrative that a lot of people try to play about what it's like and what these men are doing out here. And like the love you both have and what that means as an example to other people who follow you really moves me. It was not one I had as a kid.
[7:28] Amari: Yeah.
[7:29] Robert Bannon: Do you recognize that? Do people reach out to you and talk about how much they love to see your love?
[7:33] Kasaun: Yes. Now we, I think it's kind of like surreal to us now. At first it started off, like you said, just fairly, like a few hundred thousand followers. And then now everywhere we go, especially living here in Atlanta and attending these different pride events, we are really moved by the amount of people that come up to us more than talk about our love that talk about our online journey. And that just has a, have an admiration for both of us. We're like, we really come home and like, we are really blessed and we really do just want to continue to set a positive example. I know Amari was like, if we're going to do this online, I just want to make sure that we are a space where it's positive and like, we're really, you know, doing something different for the community. And so that was, you were really big on that.
[8:18] Amari: Yeah. It's just a lot of negative stigma around, you know, gay love, especially like black love. I think the perspective is like black gay love and gay love is extremely promiscuous and there's just like no self-control. And I think that can be a part of it. Right. But it's a full diaspora, like it's very dynamic. And I just want it, I just noticed social media is like, it can be, it can be a great place, but it also could be a dangerous place. So I just think we just wanted to use our platform for good and just promote just positivity, inspiration, like just positive things, because I feel like we have control over that. But within the same sense, we also wanted to be authentic. I think that's one thing that Kasaun wanted to, was just to be ourselves.
Like, I think when we first started doing content, we tried to make sure it was like a little cute and a little clean. Now it's just like, we may cut each other out on a YouTube video and get right back together and go to the store.
[9:12] Kasaun: Yeah, because Amari was really big on being positive and I was really big on if we're going to do this, I just want to be authentic. I don't want to tell a fake story. So we, I think some of our most engaging videos are the ones where we tell them the challenges that we face or like, you know, how we ended up, like we said, Florida State was very tumultuous. So we just kind of like tell them the truth and how we got through it. And then we realized that really resonates with people.
[9:40] Robert Bannon: That's so powerful. I, you know, my, my, my husband has the same conversation with me all the time. Detroit, very traditional, very religious family, you know, growing up where he was like, I have to be a certain way in the street. I have to be a certain way at home. And, and then dealing with the stigma that is in the community of where people ask us really crazy people, crazy questions. How many people are in your relationship? Are you open? Are you closed? Who's this? Who does that? They don't ask these kinds of questions to their other friends.
[10:09] Amari: Yeah, exactly.
[10:10] Kasaun: Yeah, exactly.
[10:11] Robert Bannon: Yeah. It's very invasive, but I think as long as we're on the same page and I'm sure you and your husband are on the same page too, like we come up as a unit and also like, it's not really any of your business.
[10:19] Amari: No.
[10:20] Robert Bannon: It's none of your business. So, okay, fine. I'm when I come to Atlanta, we're out. We're going, we're done.
[10:26] Kasaun: Okay. So there's a negative side to social media then too. So do you ever get hate? I've never gotten more hate than posting my wedding pictures. I mean, I heard people from Africa to Asia. I was like, I'm viral for the neck going on. I don't want to go viral for this reason.
