Bellamy Young is an American actress and singer best known for her role as First Lady-turned-President Melody “Mellie” Grant on the ABC drama Scandal, a performance that earned her the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She has had recurring roles on series including Criminal Minds, Scrubs, CSI: Miami, and Dirty Sexy Money. In 2015, she released her debut album, Far Away So Close, which featured covers of contemporary and classic songs.

Stage credits include her Broadway debut as Mary in The Life at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (1997–98); Off-Broadway as Meg in the York Theatre Company’s 1994 revival of Merrily We Roll Along; Margaret in Randy Newman’s Faust at La Jolla Playhouse (1995) and the Goodman Theatre (1996); and LouAnn Bates in Lanford Wilson’s Book of Days at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.
