Moya Angela

Moya Angela originated the roles of Ms. Williams, Momma, and Althea in In Transit on Broadway, showcasing her range across three distinct characters in the first fully a cappella musical in Broadway history. She was also known for playing Effie White in touring and international productions of Dreamgirls.

Her powerful vocal performances earned her recognition across musical theater, and she appeared in the national tour of The Color Purple as well as numerous regional productions.
