About

Nathan Lane is a legend on the Broadway stage. With a career spanning over four decades, he has earned a reputation for his impeccable timing, infectious energy, and ability to inhabit a diverse range of roles.

Lane's Broadway debut came in 1982 with a role in Present Laughter. He quickly established himself as a comedic force, earning his first Tony Award nomination for his performance in Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl (1993).

His true rise to stardom came with the role of Pseudolus in Stephen Sondheim's slapstick musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1996). Lane's comedic brilliance brought the house down, earning him his first Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

He continued his reign on Broadway with iconic performances as Max Bialystock in Mel Brooks' hilarious The Producers (2001) and as Nathan Detroit in the beloved revival of Guys and Dolls (1992). Both roles earned him Tony Awards, solidifying his place as a Broadway icon.

Lane's talents extend beyond comedy. He delivered a powerful performance as Roy Cohn in Tony Kushner's epic Angels in America (2018), earning him his third Tony Award, this time for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
