Rachel Bay Jones is an American actress and singer best known for her roles in the Broadway musicals Pippin and Dear Evan Hansen. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as Heidi Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen, in addition to an Emmy Award and a Grammy Award.

Jones was born in New York City and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. Her parents were both Shakespearean actors, and she dropped out of high school to perform in a local play. She moved to New York City at the age of 19 to pursue acting full-time.

Jones made her Broadway debut in 2006 in the musical Meet Me in St. Louis. She went on to appear in the 2009 revival of Hair and the 2013 revival of Pippin, where she played the role of Catherine.

In 2015, Jones joined the cast of the musical Dear Evan Hansen at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. She reprised the role of Evan's mother, Heidi Hansen, in the Off-Broadway production and then on Broadway in 2016. Her performance was widely praised by critics, and she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 2017.
