Susan H. Schulman is a Tony-nominated director known for her work on Broadway and beyond. She earned a Tony nomination for directing the 1989 revival of Sweeney Todd and a Drama Desk nomination for The Secret Garden (1991), which she also directed. Her other notable Broadway credits include The Sound of Music (1998), Sunset Boulevard (1998-2000), and Little Women (2005). She also directed Violet Off-Broadway, earning a Drama Desk nomination in 1997.
Schulman has been a key figure in regional and international theater, directing productions at the Stratford Festival, including Fiddler on the Roof, The Music Man, and To Kill a Mockingbird. She has also contributed to the New York City Center Encores! series, directing staged concerts like The Boys From Syracuse (1997).
In addition to her theater work, she heads the graduate directing program at Penn State University and continues to mentor emerging directors.
