[0:00] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.

[0:09] Andrew: There's no rhyme or reason to it, so don't get mad at me.

[0:18] Andrew: Glacket by Glacket, we'll rank everyone to see which song will move closer to spot number one.

[0:26] Andrew: Gleek of the Week, Gleek, Gleek, Gleek of the Week.

[0:32] Andrew: It's Gleek, Gleek of the Week.

[0:35] Andrew: How do I want to start this?

[0:36] Andrew: We've got a mission to find the best song that's ever been on Glee.

[0:42] Andrew: Oh, my God. Wait, do you guys know the Coffee Coffee Dingle Dingle?

[0:47] Claudia: Do you know that on TikTok?

[0:49] Andrew: No, I'm not on that clock app. You know that.

[0:51] Claudia: Oh, my gosh. Well, singer of the freaking theme song, Missy McIntosh, is blowing up on TikTok and also talk.

[1:00] Andrew: I don't know whose voice that is. I don't know who you are, by the way.

[1:05] Missy: I'm Missy. I'm singing the theme song. It's just like normal.

[1:12] Missy: Missy sings the theme song live every single episode.

[1:16] Andrew: Yes, I do.

[1:18] Missy: And come to the monthly live streams to see that.

[1:22] Andrew: That's one of the perks that you get to see Missy perform live.

[1:25] Claudia: But no, she's really popping off her and Marty Miller with these Coffee Coffee Dingle Dingle like Morning Girl.

[1:31] Andrew: It's so funny.

[1:33] Claudia: So I feel like I'm 100 years old.

[1:36] Andrew: Missy, you do, Missy?

[1:38] Missy: Yes, I do. I was going to call you Missy.

[1:43] Andrew: No, I'm joined by my good friend, Claudia.

[1:45] Claudia: How are you, Claudia?

[1:46] Claudia: Oh, my God, I'm really well. Thanks for calling me your good friend.

[1:51] Andrew: Yeah, well, you are.

[1:52] Andrew: And we're talking about how we were talking about Halloween plans before we hit the damn record button.

[1:57] Claudia: Yeah, we did. And I heard a little bit of your plans, but I haven't even revealed mine.

[2:05] Andrew: OK, OK, well, we're making plans to hang out outside of Glacketing.

[2:12] Claudia: We do hang out outside of Glacketing, everyone.

[2:15] Andrew: This isn't a work business professional relationship.

[2:18] Claudia: We are exploring.

[2:21] Andrew: You're making it sound really romantic.

[2:23] Claudia: And I'm blushing.

[2:24] Andrew: It is.

[2:24] Claudia: We're exploring each other.

[2:26] Andrew: No.

[2:29] Andrew: Oh, sorry, guys. Sorry.

[2:31] Andrew: OK, so, Claudia, do you have anything that you've you've only taken one singular week off of Glacketing?

[2:38] Claudia: Right. Thank you for the paid vacation.

[2:42] Andrew: I'm actually paying you to be subscribed to Gleek of the Week.

[2:46] Claudia: No, patreon.com slash Gleek of the Week.

[2:48] Andrew: Listen, it's going to a good cause.

[2:52] Andrew: We will find the best song on Glee.

[2:53] Claudia: I hope so. I'm really wishing and hoping for that one.

[2:56] Andrew: Wishing and hoping.

[2:58] Claudia: Yeah.

[2:59] Claudia: RIP, BTW.

[3:00] Andrew: So in the last week, do we do we have any opinions about all that transpired in the week that you were out?

[3:08] Claudia: Well, I was just list or yeah, I was just listening to the episode on my way home and I wrote one thing in my notes app.

[3:15] Claudia: And just we are young and I don't know what I meant by that.

[3:20] Andrew: I think that we are young.

[3:22] Claudia: She's OK. Yeah.

[3:23] Claudia: So I don't I that's not really a note.

[3:25] Claudia: It's just like that's the name of a song.

[3:27] Andrew: So I don't know where I was going with that.

[3:28] Claudia: Well, I tell you that she killed Born This Way.

[3:31] Andrew: Oh, I know that.

[3:33] Claudia: I think I think maybe I wrote it down because I was worried the competition was going to go a different way.

[3:39] Claudia: Because I personally would have also voted We Are Young.

[3:42] Andrew: So I'm sorry to everybody whose hearts are broken.

[3:44] Claudia: It is very sad to have Born This Way go that fast.

[3:48] Claudia: Also, like you and Connor did not seem very broken up about it, but I get it and I agree.

[3:56] Andrew: I have a question for you as someone that is on the damn podcast right now and also an avid listener.

[4:05] Andrew: Do you want us to be do you want us to be like screaming with tears every time a song goes home?

[4:14] Claudia: Do you want us to be upset?

[4:16] Andrew: Well, I mean, if that's how you feel, then yes.

[4:21] Andrew: My answer to that question is I want you to feel what you feel.

[4:23] Andrew: And if your feelings are that you don't gaff, then whatever.

[4:26] Claudia: I guess that's it is what it is.

[4:29] Claudia: I just like how how far did you see Born This Way going?

[4:32] Andrew: Let's be real. I don't know.

[4:33] Claudia: Well, it was interesting when Allison was saying that.

[4:37] Claudia: It could go all the way because I was kind of like, yeah, I can see that it's it's very representative of especially the show at that time, I think.

[4:44] Claudia: Right. It being like a tour number and all that jazz and you get like a lot of personality from all of the New Directions members at that time.

[4:53] Andrew: But then unfortunately for her, We Are Young does like that similar kind of thing of like showcasing kind of characters.

[5:04] Claudia: It has way more emotion to me, even outside of like, you know, the message of Born This Way, whatever.

[5:10] Andrew: Beautiful. Love that.

[5:13] Claudia: But I don't know.

[5:13] Claudia: They're acting.

[5:15] Andrew: They're acting in We Are Young.

[5:17] Claudia: Also, you hear more voices.

[5:18] Andrew: Right.

[5:19] Claudia: The, whoa!

[5:22] Andrew: Right, when Mercedes announces herself to the New Directions.

[5:27] Claudia: She's like, that's really good to me.

[5:28] Claudia: I'm going to be also in this number.

[5:30] Claudia: Thank you.

[5:31] Andrew: Yeah, welcome.

[5:31] Claudia: Welcome, myself.

[5:32] Andrew: Yeah, yeah.

[5:34] Claudia: It's it has more going on.

[5:35] Claudia: And I think, yeah, all of the the bonus points of being like fun, sentimental group.

[5:42] Andrew: Yeah.

[5:43] Claudia: Moment is also true of We Are Young.

[5:45] Claudia: And then I think it's just a more vocally, musically interesting song.

[5:49] Andrew: So I approve.

[5:50] Claudia: I approve that message.

[5:52] Andrew: Thank you.

[5:52] Claudia: Thank you.

[5:53] Claudia: What would your Born This Way t-shirt say to send her off?

[5:57] Andrew: Oh, for me?

[5:58] Claudia: Yeah.

[5:59] Andrew: Oh, this is hard.

[6:01] Andrew: I mean like.

[6:04] Andrew: I was always a pretty anxious person, so I would probably put that like, I mean, I still am, but I feel like especially when I was watching.

[6:12] Andrew: Glee in time, I was just like it was very like crippling for me.

[6:15] Claudia: That's not really a fun answer.

[6:16] Andrew: I know.

[6:17] Andrew: So say I could also say gay.

[6:18] Claudia: I don't know, but like at this point, like in 2011.

[6:22] Andrew: Yeah, that would be groundbreaking.

[6:23] Claudia: Yeah.

[6:23] Claudia: And now no one cares.

[6:24] Andrew: Well, I could be.

[6:29] Claudia: Nobody cares, but no anxious works.

[6:33] Andrew: I like that.

[6:34] Claudia: Yeah, I don't know.

[6:35] Claudia: I don't like that you're anxious.

[6:36] Andrew: Also in 2024, aren't we all?

[6:38] Claudia: All right.

[6:38] Claudia: All gay and anxious guys.

[6:39] Andrew: Look at my friggin nails.

[6:40] Claudia: It's gross.

[6:41] Andrew: My cuticles.

[6:42] Claudia: Oh, wow.

[6:43] Claudia: You're you got you at least got some minor to the nubs.

[6:47] Andrew: Oh, yeah.

[6:48] Claudia: Nail reveal.

[6:48] Andrew: Bad.

[6:49] Claudia: Nail reveal.

[6:50] Andrew: Nail reveal.

[6:52] Claudia: I don't know.

[6:53] Claudia: So, yeah.

[6:54] Claudia: What were the other two competitions that happened?

[6:56] Andrew: I already forgot, but I know.

[6:58] Claudia: Oh, no.

[6:58] Claudia: OK. Say a little prayer versus Hey Jude.

[7:03] Andrew: Right, right, right.

[7:05] Claudia: Again, that was the right thing.

[7:06] Claudia: I mean, Hey Jude, I don't have that.

[7:11] Claudia: I guess it's kind of an emotional watch listening to it.

[7:16] Claudia: I definitely didn't like when when you guys finished listening to it and then you started talking about it being emotional.

[7:20] Andrew: I was kind of like, what?

[7:22] Claudia: You don't you don't feel the emotionality with that one?

[7:25] Andrew: Definitely not when I listen to it.

[7:26] Claudia: But oh, OK.

[7:29] Claudia: Yeah, and then Ice Ice Baby versus my life.

[7:34] Claudia: I thought you guys didn't give enough credit to my life, but I also agree on the whole Billy Joel episode of it all.

[7:39] Andrew: It's like whatever.

[7:40] Claudia: Right, right.

[7:42] Andrew: Would you say now I don't want you to just disagree with me for the sake of agreeing, maybe you'll disagree, but.

[7:50] Andrew: Is moving out the worst episode of Glee?

[7:54] Claudia: What is the worst episode of Glee in Claudia's eyes?

[7:57] Claudia: I feel like we have this conversation recently.

[7:59] Andrew: I don't know.

[7:59] Claudia: We're always talking about this.

[8:01] Claudia: We're always doing this.

[8:02] Claudia: OK, I hate back half of five is worse to me.

[8:06] Claudia: Shooting Star I see in the chat.

[8:08] Claudia: Shooting Star is like horrible in like the guttural sense.

[8:14] Claudia: Like, it's just like, oh, my God, why do we do this?

[8:16] Claudia: Why did we do it?

[8:17] Andrew: OK, no, previously unaired Christmas is hated upon way too hard.

[8:21] Claudia: I love previously unaired Christmas.

[8:23] Claudia: I find it hilarious.

[8:24] Claudia: I love Santana in a little elf costume because obviously.

[8:27] Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[8:30] Claudia: Not even the dog one.

[8:32] Claudia: The dog one in the back of season five was more entertaining than I thought it would be.

[8:35] Andrew: But oh, you wait, where are you on your rewatch?

[8:38] Claudia: I don't even know. I'm in six now.

[8:41] Andrew: I just you've given up.

[8:42] Claudia: I finished I finished Hurt Locker and it was good as always.

[8:47] Claudia: But I don't even know.

[8:48] Claudia: Maybe the last episode of season five.

[8:49] Andrew: I don't care.

[8:51] Claudia: I just don't.

[8:51] Claudia: I don't know what's going on, but moving out sucks.

[8:53] Andrew: Moving out definitely sucks.

[8:54] Claudia: Moving out. OK, everyone get behind me.

[8:55] Claudia: Moving out friggin blows.

[8:57] Andrew: I've always said I also just.

[8:59] Claudia: It's bad. It's bad.

[9:00] Claudia: I don't care for Billy Joel anyway.

[9:04] Andrew: I'm sorry.

[9:05] Claudia: Um, go ahead.

[9:07] Andrew: I was just gonna say you were very right that like the good songs were done already, although they never did.

[9:13] Andrew: They never did Vienna.

[9:15] Claudia: Why didn't they do Vienna?

[9:17] Claudia: A weird choice.

[9:19] Andrew: Yeah.

[9:20] Andrew: Weird, what can you say?

[9:21] Claudia: Weird, weird, weird, weird, weird.

[9:21] Andrew: Wait, before we start glacketing, I wanted to bring up a comment that Eduardo left saying that Quollos, he didn't say it outwardly.

[9:26] Claudia: Wait, let me just put Eduardo on blast right now.

[9:36] Claudia: He said no.

[9:38] Claudia: Where is this comment?

[9:41] Claudia: Sorry, Eduardo, to be doing this to you.

[9:44] Claudia: You said, Eduardo, I think this week is.

[9:48] Claudia: I think this week I'm going to be upset about the third competition.

[9:51] Claudia: I say a little prayer winning over Hey Jude.

[9:53] Claudia: The fact that redacted Olos Quollos.

[9:57] Andrew: I saw that I didn't know what he was referencing because I hadn't heard the episode yet.

[10:00] Claudia: The fact that Quollos gets so much special treatment makes me sick.

[10:05] Claudia: Someone DM me when they stop giving Quollo a Quinn plot armor on the glacket.

[10:11] Andrew: And then he says, because if we really listen to the track, we can pinpoint the problem with all these Quollos is that she can't really sit.

[10:15] Claudia: And then a gunshot is what he said that he was being shot for having that opinion.

[10:27] Andrew: Quollos are faring very well.

[10:31] Claudia: I was on the floor for that, by the way.

[10:32] Andrew: Audio medium.

[10:34] Claudia: I think that the only the only like so we've gotten gosh, there's six.

[10:38] Claudia: We do this all the time.

[10:40] Claudia: Six Quollos in the entire hit Fox show.

[10:42] Andrew: Glee crazy.

[10:43] Claudia: Papa don't preach is the only one that didn't make it out of round one.

[10:46] Claudia: And then I believe that the all of the Quollos that we've pulled so far are seeing round three.

[10:51] Andrew: And we still have you keep me hanging on and come see about me left to pull.

[10:59] Claudia: I think come see about me.

[11:02] Claudia: I can I doesn't need to see round three.

[11:05] Andrew: Personally, you keep me hanging on.

[11:06] Andrew: We got to go all the way with her.

[11:08] Claudia: We're hanging on.

[11:10] Andrew: Right.

[11:11] Claudia: Come see about me.

[11:11] Claudia: Depends on the not even on the day, but on the competition, because I think that this members of or gleeks of past weeks have hated on.

[11:20] Andrew: I already forgot the name of this.

[11:22] Claudia: Come see about me.

[11:22] Andrew: Yeah.

[11:24] Claudia: And I really like it.

[11:26] Claudia: So.

[11:28] Claudia: Oh, you want it?

[11:30] Claudia: You wanted to see round three?

[11:32] Andrew: Unless it's like against something really, really legendary, then I could like let it go, I guess.

[11:34] Claudia: But yeah, keep me hanging on is to stay.

[11:34] Andrew: I also was realizing that there's so it it sucks that there's only six like proper Quollos.

[11:39] Claudia: But I want to go through like just iconic vocal moments of each character and figure out what those like what really carries the most weight for me in those because like, I guess she has some good duet moments.

[11:46] Andrew: Yeah.

[11:46] Claudia: That we can keep her representation for.

[11:57] Claudia: I've had the time of my life isn't talked about enough.

[12:01] Andrew: That'll do much for me.

[12:02] Claudia: Oh, really?

[12:05] Andrew: Hello.

[12:06] Claudia: Yeah, I don't know.

[12:06] Claudia: Hmm.

[12:10] Andrew: Anyway, last thing I'll say before we start freaking glacketing, there are some really heavy hitters left to pull in round two.

[12:15] Claudia: I feel pretty. I'm pretty.

[12:16] Andrew: I just saw brought up in the chat is one of them.

[12:18] Claudia: Paradise, the dashboard light.

[12:19] Andrew: Somebody love both the drums are still here.

[12:23] Claudia: We have less going to happen.

[12:24] Andrew: 20 episodes left of Glock around two.

[12:28] Claudia: And it's getting really, really scary because it was toward the end of round one that faithfully and I feel pretty, I'm pretty versed up against each other.

[12:37] Andrew: So I'm not going to survive that.

[12:38] Claudia: I think that I feel pretty. I'm pretty.

[12:41] Claudia: Oh, should I even say this out loud?

[12:43] Claudia: I feel like that one has a target on its back.

[12:46] Claudia: And I think that's going to have another brutal round to competition.

[12:51] Andrew: I'm so scared for that.

[12:52] Claudia: I don't I don't know if I can survive that.

[12:54] Claudia: Before I ever found like public Glee community, I was listening to.

[12:59] Claudia: My random like Glee songs in like twenty seventeen or something, I was going through my old Spotify wrapped and I feel pretty unpretty is up there and I was like, girl, what are you what are you up to?

[13:11] Andrew: What are you up to?

[13:12] Claudia: So beautiful to me.

[13:14] Andrew: Pretty, beautiful.

[13:15] Claudia: She's so pretty.

[13:17] Andrew: So pretty. And you know who else is pretty?

[13:20] Claudia: Lovely glisteners.

[13:23] Andrew: And I want to start off with one glistener that I saw is already here.

[13:28] Claudia: Cherise. God.

[13:32] Andrew: Oh.

[13:34] Cherise: Hello. Hello. Hello.

[13:35] Andrew: Oh, my God. Hello.

[13:37] Cherise: Wait, you can turn on your video now if you want to.

[13:40] Andrew: Hold on. I'm oh.

[13:43] Cherise: And it says unable to start video.

[13:46] Andrew: Because the host has stopped it.

[13:48] Cherise: Because the host has stopped.

[13:50] Andrew: Wait, could you? Wait, do you want to?

[13:52] Andrew: OK, wait, I'm going to.

[13:53] Andrew: What are you doing to me?

[13:55] Andrew: I'm a totalitarian dictator.

[13:57] Andrew: I've always said that.

[13:59] Cherise: There she is. Beautiful face, beautiful.

[14:01] Cherise: Thank you for having me.

[14:02] Andrew: I'm thrilled.

[14:04] Cherise: Oh, my gosh.

[14:06] Cherise: Wait, how are we saying your name?

[14:06] Cherise: Cherise. Hard K like Kurt Hummel.

[14:10] Andrew: Nice. Thank you.

[14:11] Cherise: That's how I'll remember.

[14:11] Cherise: Yeah.

[14:14] Cherise: And yes.

[14:14] Cherise: What were you going to say?

[14:16] Cherise: And I was going to make it about myself.

[14:18] Cherise: I also have a hard case sound in my name.

[14:18] Claudia: Hard K like Claudia.

[14:20] Claudia Karras: Oh my god! Full name reveal! Full name reveal! Okay, maybe that'll ruin my political career someday. We'll find out that I was here. Well, maybe with these GLAC decisions that you make today. True. But enough about freaking Claudia Karras. Yes. I want to know, what's going on with you and your GLACAT and your grievances and all of that? I'm dying to know. I'm really dying. I really need to know. So I have like three, really three that I can think of that keep me up at night. Okay. One is from round one. And it's Lean On Me. Lean On Me vs. Bad. Lean On Me vs. Bad. That is so crazy. It's so wasteful, really. That song makes me feel things I cannot explain. It sends me back to seventh grade. I'm transported to 2009.

Mercedes Artis. Mercedes Artis. A Mercedes Arti led group number is my favorite, like, genre, like favorite category of Glee songs. Bad. Bad's just like a less fun version of Weird Al's Fat, you know? That's how I was introduced to that song. Right. And when I saw Bad on Glee, I went, oh, that's what this is. Oh, that's so funny. They're doing Weird Al. It's so crazy. Well, Bad is dead now. Are we- Yes. Killed it. Yeah. And it's- You and I, you and I. From, no, you'll learn you've got a friend, which is also worse than Lean On Me. We can't win. We can't win. I was saying that we did this for you, but- You and I, you and I. Yeah. You and I, you and I. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got the double entendre.

Oh, man. Thanks. Wait. I- Okay. I- Yeah. I think that if you look back at the tapes, I think I did vote for Lean On Me. Okay, good. I feel like I did. So you have taste. Right. Thank you. Finally. And also, I was surprised to find out recently on the- Maybe you'll know this podcast, and that's what you really miss, where- Yes. I'm sure. Jenna Auschwitz was talking about how she also recorded backing vocals for Lean On Me as well. Damn. And I was like, ooh, this is new Glee knowledge. And so- I didn't know that. I'm so sad. I mean, I guess I did hear it, but I forgot that. Yeah, silence that girl. I just love that song so much. It's like probably in my top 10 Glee songs. Wow. And so it's crazy to me that it's gone. What's next on your laundry list?

[17:00] Claudia Karras: Okay. So the next song is regretfully probably my top listened to song from the Glee cast. Maybe second to River Deep Mountain High. Okay. This song is Mary's Little Boy Child. I remember you campaigning for that a few weeks ago. Yes. I was not a glatron. I was not a paying listener. And I started paying so that I could campaign for this song to come back. That's so fun. And I'm going to say something that is going to make people mad. I think Barely Breathing is boring. It's absolutely boring to me. No, I really appreciate that you're saying that. Again, these are all competitions that I've been here for. So that feels kind of nice. Listen, it's just like, it's just like- Jenna said careful, dot, dot, dot.

It's just like two guys sitting there singing, you know, like there's so much more exciting things. You want Mary's Little Boy Child. Mary's Little Boy Child. There are also other songs that were up for it that did not go and that were more fun than Barely Breathing. I'm always like, I want a fun Glee song. Like those are the songs that I always want. Okay. So if we're talking about child, can we talk about Love Child? How do you feel about her? Love Child? Love Child is good. Like, is is good and funny. Mary's Little Boy Child, like gets me dancing in a way I cannot explain. It's really good. Yeah. I was trying to see what killed that. Yeah. And it's kind of embarrassing. Do you know? Mary's Little Boy Child.

I should know this. Endless Love. Yeah, that feels kind of bad. But we did do that. I do love Endless Love. But Mary's Little Boy Child is so special to me. You're very brave for saying this. And I'm so grateful that you did because it's important to know. And I'm feeling really, yeah, getting a good picture of putting the scrapbook together. Yeah, right. In December, I recorded a cover of the song. I played every instrument. I sang all the parts. I did have COVID during it. I will send it. You're so talented. I know you're so talented. I love this. That's incredible. This is very good news. Wait, are we saying even like, because I'm already building the carousel in my mind. Is that a carousel edition?

Yes, absolutely. We need to know. We need to hear. Carousel. You're so smart. That's so good. Wow. Wow, your mind. This is so exciting. Wait, so we're at number one, Glackett Grievance now? So that was the second one. Okay. I mean, that's my number one, like biggest probably. No, actually, it's not my biggest. So this is my third of three. The final song that grinds my gears, and I think about it so often that I have rehearsed this conversation in my head. Oh, perfect. Okay. Smile by Charlie Chaplin. Not on the Glackett. Not on the Glackett. Do I think it's a great song? Not at all. Not particularly. But on principle, I cannot stand by Tongue Tied having a fighting chance and not Smile.

[20:23] Claudia Karras: Tongue Tied doesn't have a fighting chance. It's not there, right? No, it's not. But it was in the Glackett, and that's why. No, it wasn't, Paris. I am telling you right now, Tongue Tied was never in the Glackett. It was. Rebuttal. It was. No, it wasn't. Amelia, Amelia, I see you. Amelia, please look this up. I swear, I swear it was, because I remember you talking about it, and then me watching it back. No reference of the word tongue in the Glackett. No, Paris. No tongue in the Glackett. I love that we're ending on a grievance. I'm so sorry. I promise I am not gaslighting you right now. There were three songs from the hit Fox show Glee that were in an episode. Mr. Grinch, Mr. Grinch, Tongue Tied.

Right. So they fit that parameters, but we didn't actually see a performance. So that was Mr. Grinch, Smile, Charlie Chaplin, and Tongue Tied. So they're not on the Glackett. Was it not? Yes. What song was I? Because I remember watching Tongue Tied and being like, why is this on the Glackett and not Smile? Oh, wow. So maybe I'm just a fool. I'm going to put that to rest. I don't know, no. Um, we can put it to rest. Andrea has nothing to say to that. Erase the last, like, two minutes from your brains, everybody. No, I think it's important, because I'm sure that there's other people that also think that Tongue Tied is not in the Glackett anymore or anything. It never was. It never was. Okay, that's good, because I was about to commit mutiny and suggest that we listen to Smile and you're a mean one, Mr. Grinch, and do a round one Glackett for those, for fairness.

I like that. But if Tongue Tied wasn't, then they're all getting equally discriminated. Tongue Tied would have made it. I feel pretty confident that Tongue Tied would have made it. I feel pretty confident saying that it would have made at least, like, top 20. Right? I would cry. I cry every time I see that. It's so beautiful. Yeah, so good. Yeah, I don't feel like Smile by Charlie Chaplin is important to me at all. It was just that it wasn't in the Glackett that made me furious. Words are saying one thing and your other words earlier are saying another. Oh, man. Well, maybe we do a little bonus episode where we pour one out to, I think there is 100 songs that didn't fit the Glackett parameters.

I wrote them all down one day and it was crazy that it was 100 on the dot. I don't know what to do with that information, but yeah, really crazy. Amelia's got them in a spreadsheet. Amelia's got the stats, friends.

[23:22] Claudia Karras: So what are we manifesting today, Karis? Okay, here's my short list. I'll read them fast. I have 10. If you have a long list, we have time. Let's go. Okay, Jump. I love Jump. I really want Anything Goes slash Anything You Can Do. Love her. That would be Happy Days Are Here Again slash Get Happy. Survivor slash I Will Survive. And then Valerie, Mercy. Mercy. Not many people are talking about Mercy. Yeah, Mercy is great. I love season one vocal adrenaline. Bills, bills, bills. Damn It, Janet. Yes. Any Drump. Drumpy Drump. I'm not particular about a Drump. I'm excited. Wait, Claudia, I didn't ask you. What do you want today? I don't know. I'm just here. I do like the practice of asking people what they want, as if they have any sort of power.

Yeah. It's a sick exercise. Should I go back to like something with maybe something with stupid points? That's what I want. Or religious overtones. I said that once upon a time. I love a religious overtone. Mary and the Little Boy child. Okay, okay. Oh, we have we have something with religious overtones because it's from a particular kind of episode. Or Christmas. A Christmas. Boring. Actually, no, I like them. I like them. No, this one. I really, I really do like this one. Maybe people will be surprised. Like Jesus Christmas songs are left. We know what it is. Oh, it's good. Yeah, it plays in every single grocery store for the entire month of December. Let's hit it.

[27:07] Claudia Karras: Wow. Beautiful. Karis, what do we think about Last Christmas? So I'm a Christmas fiend. I have a Christmas web series. I listen to Christmas music starting midnight on Halloween. I love everything about Christmas. This is my least favorite Christmas song. No! I was like, wait, this is- It's Wham! It's Wham! This is- But- I love this Christmas song. It's Wham. This version and the Ashley Tisdale version are the only versions of this song I like. Okay. I know the one. This was good for me. Okay. Okay. You really took us through a journey. I was- It was up, it was down, and we ended on an up. That's great. Let's just have a carousel. Yeah, so we ended on an up. No. Let's just call it- Yeah. That's the carousel.

Yeah. Yes. That's good. Claudia, what do you think? That's great. I think this is one of the more ubiquitous Glee songs and Glee Christmas songs. It is literally always- I think I hear it during the Christmas season in public more than I hear the original. Really? I think- I hear- I feel like I hear it all the time. I feel like I'm hearing Extraordinary Merry Christmas when I'm out in the public. You've said that before and I don't think I've ever- Really? I don't think that has ever been- Either. Yeah, I've never had that experience. We run in different circles then. Yeah, I think so. I guess so. It's great. I like the backup vocals with no faces to match to the vocals. Amber Riley on the track with Amber Riley not being on location. A little eerie. A little eerie there. Also, just Rachel's participation.

[28:40] Claudia: Christmas traditions. Yeah. As a woman, she's just doing it. And I think that's fine. But maybe we should have given her a Hanukkah number. Yeah. Do you have not a mention of Hanukkah? Again, do that one again. Do it twice. Do that one before Jake and Puck get to it. Yeah. And then do it again for the hundredth episode. Do it three times. Injected. Right, right. It's like it's not even the season anymore. But we got to go back to Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah. Yep. Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah, which legal note was taken out by Somebody to Love Season One version. Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah could have made it a lot further if it wasn't, you know, set up like that. Should have been a hitter. Yeah. Allison Dodge loves that one, right?

She does. Yeah. Oh, wow. I've been waiting for Allison's name to be brought up. Oh, Allison, you said you said the special word. Yes. Allison, listen up. I have I'm sitting on a juicy piece of gossip. Not not gossip. I figured out that I was at Allison's college graduation. No. No. No way. My brother graduated from the U of M in 2018. Putting her on blast like this. So I was there. This is thrilling. I live in LA, but I'm from Minnesota. And I swear she talks like a cartoon character from Minnesota. Everything she talks about. I'm like, that's a Minnesota thing. That's a caricature of Minnesotan. Yes. It's very exciting for me. I if I recall, if we're going down the Allison Dodge route. I recall you went to an Allison trivia, right?

That's right. Yeah, like a year ago. That is so beautiful. I had not been to Minnesota for four years. Because my parents moved out. I was on my very first ever like adult vacation without anybody else. And I was like, I'm gonna go to Minnesota. And I was getting on the plane listening to a glee project recap. Yes. And Allison was like, always I'm doing a trivia night on the Friday that I was gonna be there. And I went, I got to go for the bit. You got to go. I got to go for the bit. And I went it was great. She's a great trivia host. Yeah, I haven't been so you have that on me. I so wonderful. She only doesn't. She needs it. She needs to travel with these trivia events. Agreed a tour a world tour with World Tour Trivia World Tour.

I love it. Nice. Um, last Christmas, last Christmas. I really do love this a lot. It just feels like almost like I'm in a similar way of like Allison being caricature of a Minnesotan. It almost feels like a caricature of a like a glee Christmas number like in the best way. It's like that's what you think of when you think of a glee Christmas song for me at least that I'm like, yeah, it's too good. You know, the Finchel sometimes they produce a hit and this one they really did. I really do like this and the fact that they went on location for this to an on location Finchel duet this faithfully I what are there any other on location Finchel duets? Do we count roots before branches? No, I suppose.

I mean, not. That's that's like a real is that a rollo? Is that a Finchel duet? It really depends on does he sing in it? I think he goes. He doesn't groaning and moaning. He sings in the iTunes version. How could I forget the groaning and moaning? He totally moans and groans in the MP4. I swear to God. Anyone corroborating this? I think he does a little bit more than moaning and groaning. Eduardo, they filmed no air in a tornado. They did film no air in a tornado. How could I forget that one? Um, last Christmas, I think without looking at a list, I think that the only Christmas songs that are confirmed to sing round three so far are Baby It's Cold Outside and Christmas Wrapping. As a Christmas, which are great, both amazing.

Okay, you approve of those? Oh, I approve. Okay, because I feel like what I've discovered Christmas wrapping very divisive. Weird. Weird for people to not get it. Consider just getting it. Just get it. Just understand. You don't understand her like we do. No, as a as a Christmas fiend. Well, I don't know how I'm phrasing this sentence. This is not grammatically correct. I was gonna say I share some Christmas fiendness, especially when I was like, younger. Now it less. I don't know. You know, when Santa Claus and puts the coal on your stocking and they're like, Oh, man, you know what I mean? Metaphorically speaking. You get it. But one of my traditions ever since high school, at least I always wrap gifts for my family in my bedroom, on the floor and watch the Glee Christmas episodes.

[55:04] Hannah: All right. Thank you so much, Karis.

[55:07] Charis: That worked great for me.

[55:10] Claudia: Um, okay. Do we have Hannah here?

[55:17] Hannah: Oh my god, this is insane. I feel like I'm with celebrities.

[55:20] Claudia: Oh my god. Hannah? Wait, Hannah.

[55:24] Hannah: Hi, it's so nice to see you. Oh my gosh.

[55:26] Claudia: Before we get into anything. It was your, is it your birthday? When is your birthday?

[55:31] Hannah: Saturday is my birthday. I'm turning 21.

[55:33] Claudia: Oh, my 21st birthday present to myself when I get to be on.

[55:37] Hannah: Oh, my ultimate 21st birthday.

[55:39] Claudia: Happy birthday.

[55:42] Hannah: Wait, can I ask? Do you have? Do you have plans?

[55:45] Hannah: No, I'm really lame. I'm not doing anything. But I'm seeing Taylor Swift the week after.

[55:49] Claudia: So that's like my like, birthday.

[55:51] Hannah: That's great. And you could buy your very first alcoholic beverage for the low low price of like $35 as it always is at a stadium.

[56:00] Claudia: I'm a college savings.

[56:02] Hannah: That's really good.

[56:03] Claudia: I love that.

[56:04] Hannah: Oh my god, how beautiful.

[56:06] Claudia: That is great. And also wait, I feel like I see that you're wearing a Blaine shirt.

[56:09] Hannah: This is my Blaine shirt. I wore it to school once. I got a UGA. I wore it to school and someone asked me if I was wearing it on a dare. And I was like, no, I legitimately love this shirt.

[56:19] Claudia: Oh my god, that's so mean.

[56:22] Hannah: People are cruel. People are really cruel.

[56:25] Claudia: I was like, no, I legitimately love Glee. I don't know how to explain that.

[56:28] Hannah: Yeah, sorry guys. Sorry, haters.

[56:30] Claudia: This is actually my husband. I don't know what you're talking about.

[56:32] Hannah: It's actually my husband. He needs to make his blanket.

[56:40] Claudia: This is Nugget. This is my dachshund. I joke that Nugget's biological father is Jonathan Groff. His biological mother is Hila Swift. And then me, Darren Criss are his adopted parents.

[56:51] Hannah: So technically, yes, the lore is that Darren is my husband and that Blaine is Nugget's dad.

[56:56] Claudia: I've heard that.

[56:58] Hannah: Yeah, thank you.

[56:58] Claudia: The family tree goes wild.

[57:00] Hannah: The family tree goes wild. The lore is crazy.

[57:02] Claudia: The lore is insane. Okay, wait, let's talk about Glacket lore. Does your Glacket lore go crazy?

[57:11] Hannah: What is your Glacket grievances?

[57:14] Hannah: I feel like I don't have any crazy Glacket grievances. None that are going to be shocking to you.

[57:20] Claudia: We're going to go all the way back to round one, not the boy next door. I think about her every single night as I go to sleep. I send a little prayer out for her. I miss her. We need to, when we do these Glacogruvances, we need to say who killed her. Okay. It was against, like, it was with Bad Romance. Right. Which, like, great song, but it's like, I would say, like, a mid-level group number versus, like, what I would say is, like, arguably, like, if not the best polo, like, the second or third best polo, it's right up there. And so I feel really sad for her, and I think about her every day.

[57:51] Charis: Go Your Own Way versus Love. I think Go Your Own Way is my favorite rolo. I know it gets brought up, like, every week. No, I kind of like it as a bit. It's pretty funny. I really do think it is my favorite rolo. And so I miss her. Love her. What else? Buenos Aires versus Problem. I'm a big Lindsay Pierce girl. And so I feel really sad for her and for losing her.

[58:12] Claudia: Wait, Hannah, can I ask? Buenos Aires versus Vogue in round one was obviously contentious. Where do you stand on that?

[58:19] Hannah: It depends on the day. I would go either way. I think I'll have to beat Buenos Aires still, but it really is, like, a coin flip. But it definitely should have beat Problem. Love Unholy Trinity, but not the best Unholy Trinity number that she needed to come all the way to round three.

[58:40] Claudia: I will say that Buenos Aires is, like, every time I watch it, it's shorter than I remember. They are in and out very quickly. They cut that song, but it's very different than, like, the MP3. It makes me sad every time I watch it. Miss you, girl. Know you're listening.

[58:55] Charis: Yes. Lindsay Pierce. She's doing really well on Les Mis.

[58:58] Claudia: Right. Lindsay Pierce. Yes, yeah.

[59:02] Charis: I don't feel like I have, like, any, like, super interesting ones. I will put in my, like, two cents about Mindgate, because I said I am a big Taylor Swift fan. I am going to be, in your defense, with To Serve With Love winning over mine, which I feel like is, like, crazy as a Taylor Swift fan. But I, like, think mine is great. It's a great Santomo, but it's not better than To Serve With Love. So I'll put in my, like, two cents in your favor with that, for my opinion.

[59:26] Claudia: That's so nice of you.

[59:28] Charis: I actively had a, like, pit in my stomach when I saw the message in the group chat that was, like, you, mine lovers need to stop hating on To Serve With Love. I don't remember who wrote that, but I'm so sorry.

[59:38] Claudia: It was Andrew, who's here today. Not me, Andrew.

[59:41] Charis: Andrew, I'm so sorry. I literally read that, and I was like, oh my god, I feel so bad. Andrew, I meant to tell you when I, um, when the Zoom first started, but Andrew left the most beautiful...

[1:00:12] Claudia: You're right. It's beautiful.

[1:01:47] Hannah: Can I ask you a question?

[1:01:49] Charis: Yes.

[1:01:49] Hannah: So is Blaine your favorite character?

[1:01:53] Charis: I love Blaine. I'm a big Darren Criss fan. I'm a big Blaine fan. I'm a big Quain fan. So I was, I'm like, I feel like I'm like the like, Quain representation.

[1:02:00] Claudia: Yeah, we need that.

[1:02:01] Charis: Yeah, there was an episode a couple weeks ago. I don't remember when it was. They were like, I feel like there's a lot of like, um, Britannia fans, but not enough Quain fans. And I was like, this is where the Glock-8 meets me because this is what I'm here for. This is what I'm here for. Yeah, I'm here for the Quain representation.

[1:02:14] Hannah: Thoughts on Kamuame?

[1:02:15] Charis: Yeah.

[1:02:16] Charis: I was so sad to see her die. I was so sad. I love Kamuame. It's not like my favorite Quain duet or anything. But I was really sad to see her go away.

[1:02:25] Claudia: Okay, so this is, I just wanted to pull.

[1:02:28] Charis: We needed to bring, I already knew the answer to that one.

[1:02:33] Claudia: Um, wait, so Hannah, how are we doing with like, I guess, Blaine representation, we're doing pretty well, right?

[1:02:41] Hannah: I feel like Blaine representation is fine. I feel sad for all my Quain fans out there, because I feel like Kurt gets a lot of shit, because it's not the best thing or anything. Um, and then I feel like Quain in general doesn't get like, a lot of attention. I've missed it since Allison left. I'm like, we're not all my Quain, all my Quain fans. But I do feel like it's like, it's better than like, I'm like, that's what you really miss, where they like, never talk about it. So I think we get we've got like a nice middle ground.

[1:03:05] Claudia: We're keeping a point counter for like a subtle and that's what you really miss, drag.

[1:03:11] Charis: Um, okay, so are we manifesting for Quain representation?

[1:03:17] Hannah: Yeah, I feel like I'm manifesting anything Blaine, anything Quain.

[1:03:20] Charis: Um, I love a group number. It's like anything group number and then anything like warblers.

[1:03:25] Claudia: So okay, I was gonna say I want to blow low.

[1:03:27] Charis: I would love to blow low.

[1:03:29] Claudia: Why not? Right? Why not? Come on.

[1:03:32] Charis: Like a taboo to say like, look, it's the big quench class.

[1:03:35] Claudia: I'm like, wow, it's real. That's so crazy. It's real.

[1:03:40] Charis: Um, nothing that you mentioned.

[1:03:44] Claudia: I thought you just meant there's nothing in the cup.

[1:03:47] Charis: It's empty.

[1:03:48] Claudia: Because I didn't see the piece of paper.

[1:03:49] Charis: The piece of paper that I pulled out says nothing on it. So that's a problem.

[1:04:00] Charis: And here it is.

[1:04:02] Claudia: Where is it?

[1:04:04] Charis: Um, I feel like it's really bad for me to be on the zoom because I move around a lot. I hope I'm not distracting anyone.

[1:04:10] Claudia: Okay, we already know what it is.

[1:04:15] Charis: Oh my god.

[1:04:16] Claudia: Here I'm gonna have to leave the room.

[1:04:27] ♪ Musical number: "Shake It Out" — performed by Glee Cast ♪

[1:07:04] Claudia: Okay, I have to bring up what happened in the chat. Because I should be crying, but I can't help but laugh. In the chat, from of course, none other than Eduardo, he already mocked up a t-shirt that says Miners with a heart emoji next to it and a picture of Santana underneath of it. Now I can't talk about anything else, but I'll try.

[1:07:32] Charis: Nevertheless, I will still try.

[1:07:34] Claudia: Okay.

[1:07:35] Hannah: And I'm going to try to talk about something else.

[1:07:39] Claudia: And here we are trying to do that.

[1:07:43] Charis: Here I am trying.

[1:07:44] Charis: I am a work in progress.

[1:07:47] Claudia: Okay, Eduardo's giving us some help. This song is so beautiful and moving and powerful. Start there.

[1:07:51] Charis: Here we go.

[1:07:53] Claudia: Okay, that's a good place to start. Let's start there.

[1:07:55] Charis: And now I'm going to divert to Hannah.

[1:07:57] Hannah: Hannah, what do we think about Shake It Off?

[1:07:59] Charis: Shake It Out.

[1:08:00] Hannah: Sorry. I feel like what is there to say about such a beautiful song? Like you said before, when it's so amazing and powerful, what is there to say other than it's excellent?

[1:08:11] Charis: I had two notes. One was that you can't help but to notice Derek in the background with his giant smile and everything for the recording where they were like, we had no idea the context of this song.

[1:08:22] Hannah: Right. That takes me out of it every single time.

[1:08:25] Charis: How many pictures?

[1:08:26] Hannah: He has his back there smiling. He has no idea.

[1:08:29] Charis: And then also the fact that they had Vanessa and Heather up there, no words coming out of their mouths. They said, let's have them on the stool, but they get to be silent. I didn't understand that choice because I feel like there are obviously so many numbers on Glee where characters are opening their mouths and singing along, but they're not actually on the track.

[1:08:42] Hannah: That it's like, this one's distracting because it's like, why aren't they just singing along?

[1:08:57] Charis: Yeah, it's a very weird choice on whoever's part. There were also parts of it where it looked like Vanessa and Heather got the same memo as Derek because the very first time we see Vanessa, she is sitting down smiling.

[1:09:11] Hannah: She's got a big smile on her face.

[1:09:13] Charis: I think, I don't know. Is that just like a sugar choice?

And the first voice I hear is Santana, which obviously I love, but I'm like, I was, I was so mad that day, that I was like, are you guys kidding me?

[1:12:31] Hannah: That's really sad, because they also could have given like, Tina a like, I don't know, you know how like, Rachel is a Barbara girlie, and Santana is like an Amy Winehouse, and Mercedes is Aretha, whatever, giving her, giving Tina Florence would be cute, and actually like, solidify her as like, one of the main original girlies.

[1:18:34] Hannah: I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying I don't guess you don't.

[1:18:42] Claudia: I don't know. I don't know what I would choose in that even as a Blaine girl. I really hate that storyline. I really like the storyline that it might it might have to be. I don't know. It's just like, it's hard. But yeah, this is a song that does nothing for me. It's a it's a never never scream for me. But it's not like the dancing is cool. That's my nice thing that I'll say about it is good Shoe dancing. So having fun.

[1:19:09] Charis: Yeah, I think it's interesting that we're pulling this the episode after "Ice Ice Baby." Because I I'm like, they they really do take almost like 100% of the same boxes, except, you know, you have you have the Jesse St. James of with "Ice Ice Baby," at least. And that's some added bonus points where I already know where this this competition is going. Where I think that there's something super endearing about "Ice Ice Baby" and "Bust a Move." They're having so much freaking fun. All of like, they're all friggin babies in there. And so cute.

[1:19:45] Claudia: Um, I don't know. I said it last week, and I'll say it again. It's just like they this is not living in the same camp as "Blurred Lines" or "Same Love." Those are like, they're purposefully like, like offensive, where it's like, hey, the teacher's doing this weird thing. Isn't it weird? Where it's like, no, the characters that we saw the tapes, you guys were having freaking fun when he was rapping and moving "Ice Ice Baby." I think that they just like they're so intrinsically different. Um, so I'm like, happy that like "Ice Ice Baby" is going forward on the Glacket. Because I think that both of these songs are good.

[1:20:30] Claudia: And I would like to at least have like one of them continue on. So um, yeah, I think I like "Ice Ice Baby" better than I like this song. I'm happier for that one.

[1:20:41] Charis: What is it about "Ice Ice Baby"? Do you think?

[1:20:42] Claudia: I don't know. Like the vibes are well, okay. The Justin Timberlake James is at all. Like you said, yeah, I just like biological father. Right?

[1:20:51] Charis: I remember her him from the family tree.

[1:20:54] Claudia: Yes. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I can't decide which one I like more between the two because they do both have very like big nostalgia points. I think I mentioned this like, maybe the one time I spoke in a live stream. That when I was like nine years old or something, sorry, aging myself. I received a CD as a like a party favor at my friend's birthday with a bunch of Glee songs burned on it. And this was one of them.

[1:21:26] Charis: So I always think about this being a very—

[1:21:30] Eduardo: Please.

[1:21:32] Claudia: What's a CD?

[1:21:34] Charis: What's a CD?

[1:21:36] Claudia: I feel like um, yeah, because sometimes like, I'll bring up like the Glee the music volume one, whatever. And people it does not land for some folks.

[1:21:46] Charis: Yeah.

[1:21:47] Claudia: But this was included on volume one.

[1:21:50] Charis: "Bust a Move."

[1:21:50] Claudia: This feels like one of the worst, not the worst, sorry, one of the first songs I've ever I ever heard on Glee because I had that CD before I ever saw an episode of the show.

[1:21:57] Charis: Yeah.

[1:21:59] Claudia: There's also so many cute background moments in this one that I wrote down such as Finn so sweaty. His hair is like damp.

[1:22:05] Charis: Very sweaty.

[1:22:08] Claudia: Hit by a slushie.

[1:22:09] Charis: It's not okay.

[1:22:11] Claudia: Well, slush. Same diff.

[1:22:13] Charis: Okay, it's moisture in his hair.

[1:22:16] Claudia: I also wrote Rachel and Puck. They were looking very weird to me in the beginning. But I guess that's their whole thing. Adorable on Holy Trinity. They're being so cute. And also I love when Kurt is so mad for no reason. What was he so mad about this time?

[1:22:31] Charis: I know he was in the corner and he's gone. He looks so mad.

[1:22:34] Claudia: I did like that there was like representation. There was almost like Hannah representation of like someone there that like—

[1:22:43] Charis: Have yourself heard of me.

[1:22:44] Claudia: Right, right. That like couldn't care less about what was actually happening around them.

[1:22:47] Charis: Yeah.

[1:22:48] Claudia: So yeah.

[1:22:48] Charis: He's so mad.

[1:22:49] Claudia: Yeah. But I kind of like get that because like it's like also Mr. Shoe coming up with like the lyric of like, um, like the girl is stacked. Like you're not even mad because the girl and like and saying that to the gay teenager like, like, get the fuck out. Actually, you're pissing me off.

[1:23:06] Charis: I can see why also like just being mad at when a lot of his, his bit in the beginning, a lot of Kurt's bit in the beginning is like not getting solos or whatever. Like, okay, maybe shut up. You're the teacher.

[1:23:17] Claudia: Right. Let us have it.

[1:23:19] Charis: Okay, which, which is a great segue into one of the things I want to talk about. It always every time I do a rewatch catches me by surprise. How Will is like the main character of this show for like the first like 13 episodes?

[1:23:35] Claudia: Right?

[1:23:36] Charis: Yeah, it's pretty crazy.

[1:23:37] Claudia: It's wild. I've been watching I'm in like season five right now. And I'm like, where is Will? I just got like, like the New York plot. Like, he's just gone. It's crazy.

[1:23:43] Charis: Yeah.

[1:23:44] Claudia: I know. He's gone. The show was all about him. And then he's like, gone.

[1:23:48] Charis: Yeah.

[1:23:48] Claudia: Where is he?

[1:23:49] Charis: It was really sad listening to him talk about it on—

[1:23:53] Claudia: And that's what you really miss. I was like, God.

[1:23:54] Charis: Oh, and he wanted to friggin leave.

[1:23:57] Claudia: He wanted to leave. They didn't let him and then he just was doing nothing. That's very sad.

[1:24:02] Charis: Yeah.

[1:24:03] Claudia: Yeah. I mean, we don't get any of like, even close to the amount of time in anybody's like, home. As we do.

[1:24:11] Charis: That's a very good point.

[1:24:12] Claudia: In the beginning.

[1:24:13] Charis: Yeah.

[1:24:13] Claudia: Which is like goes into I think you said a few weeks ago, like getting to see people's parents or whatever. Hannah, do you miss when you're when you get to season five B? Do you feel like that? There's like a hole there of like Mr. Shoe not being there? Do you miss him?

[1:24:29] Hannah: Do I miss him? I wouldn't say I miss him because he's never like a character that was kind of like does anything for me in the first place. Like he's just kind of like a character that is like I'm emotionally invested in into like three or four, whatever. But he's not like a favorite character of mine or anything. I'm fine with him not being there. I'm fine with following the New York plot. And obviously, it would make no sense for him to be there. But it feels like a completely different show. Like people talked about before how like, season five, especially 5G feels like such a different show than how it started. And so I think that's the main thing that I'm like, I miss Will because I miss that he represented seasons like one through three. I think it's kind of where that comes from.

[1:25:05] Claudia: For me, I miss being in the glee club. I miss the choir room. Like New York is fine. But I do miss that.

[1:25:10] Charis: Right.

[1:25:10] Claudia: It's kind of it's kind of fun when we get him. Like, where is he now in season six? I watched that recently. His voiceover again for the first time in five seasons.

[1:25:21] Charis: Right, right.

[1:25:21] Claudia: We're like, we got a lot of that in the beginning.

[1:25:23] Charis: Yeah, that's kind of interesting.

[1:25:25] Claudia: Yeah. Um, do we want to?

[1:25:29] Claudia: So only one song can actually I just made a decision. Only one of these songs can move forward on the Glacket.

[1:25:36] Charis: What?

[1:25:36] Claudia: Yeah, I am so sorry to be doing this. And I think that maybe we should vote like best two out of three moves.

[1:25:45] Charis: Come sit next to me, you fine fellow.

[1:25:48] Claudia: Yeah. So who wants to vote first?

[1:25:53] Charis: I think we should give it to the week of the week.

[1:25:55] Claudia: Yeah, Hannah, please.

[1:25:57] Hannah: What if I voted for "Bust a Move"? That would be crazy.

[1:26:01] Claudia: I can do that. Okay. Yeah, it's such a like you said like it's like you're like probably I think you said tonight you're like top 25. I think it would probably be in mind as well. Like it's just a beautiful song that should make it really far. Yeah, so good. Claudia, what are you gonna say?

[1:26:16] Claudia: I'll say Shake It Out as well. Yeah. No, I mean, I said what I had to say on the matter. I think I don't know if people are gonna really I was thinking this as Boston Moon was playing that like, it's kind of sad, kind of sad to know that I was going to be sending it home because it is a very sweet, like representation of season one. But I think it would be strange to like, mourn it more actively than that. Yeah, like, man, calm your mourning. Please chill with that. Guys, don't come after me. Don't mourn too hard. I have a family. I have a family. Um, yeah, I gotta go shake it out. Um, also, I just to to make it makes further sense to send Bust A Move home. It's one of those performances where Will is being weird to Quinn specifically.

Yes, he grabs her face. Yeah, right. And they're here. He's like that in like Bust A Move. He's like that in We Are The Champions. Like he is weird specifically to her, like a number of times where I'm like, red flag. Yeah, no, no, no. Don't like it. Yeah, it was very weird. So Bust A Move. See ya. Um, Hannah, thank you so much for being our second Gleek this week.

[1:27:36] Hannah: Crazy. Thank you so much. This is like the best birthday present I could ask for. Thank you so much. Oh my gosh. I hope that you have the best birthday. Let us know how it is. So much fun. Please, please, please have so much fun. And I hope you only I hope you only spend half of your college savings on your alcohol. If I can get out of it without that would be great. Right? Yes. Right. Bye. Um, and then our last Gleek this week is, is Keely here? Is? I don't know if I see Keely in the, in the audience, so to speak.

[1:28:12] Claudia: Uh, I'm not seeing Keely either. But luckily, is Kayla. I see the Kayla's here.

[1:28:19] Kayla: Oh, Kayla. Kayla. Thank you so much. Happy to be here.

[1:28:30] Kayla: I heard the cut. And I'm like, Oh, no, not me. Oh, well. Look at that.

[1:28:34] Claudia: No, it was actually even exist. No, no, things interesting. Keely. I know you're listening. You will be on a future episode. I promise you. I'm sorry that you're not here in this moment. Keely, but it's Kayla's time right now. And Kayla, wait, you are in the in the pitch dark right now. Where the heck are you? Are you saying I'm in Canada? Manitoba? Yeah. And it's not that late. It's 730. It's central time. So you don't really have an excuse for it to be this dark.

[1:29:09] Kayla: And you're really cold too. You're wearing a scarf. Sorry to put you on blast like this.

[1:29:17] Kayla: Well, my lamp, the light bulb is busted. And then it's kind of a terrible light, like the main light is a terrible light. It's like, I like just like the screen light on a laptop. Like I used to work in an office. And I got to be the only one there on the weekend. But sometimes one of the zoo, I worked at the zoo and one of the zoo staff will come in. And they're like, they didn't think anyone was there. But I'd be there and I'd move them. And so they called me back girl. Bad, bad girl, bad girl. But I didn't need windows and natural light, or the light from my computer. Like I don't need artificial like any other light.

[1:29:54] Claudia: Do you have blue light glasses? That's what I was thinking about that whole time.

[1:29:57] Kayla: No, that's a problem. You're probably fine.

[1:30:03] Claudia: Wait, do you have blue light glasses, Claudia?

[1:30:06] Claudia: No, but I don't often just light my room by the glare of my laptop screen.

[1:30:11] Kayla: Oh, okay. All right. Me and Kayla built different. We're constantly on that damn laptop. Kayla, I always forget to do this like bit on the live stream episodes. But do you have any thoughts on like the previous competitions in this episode?

[1:30:24] Kayla: Last Christmas, very excited to see Last Christmas that I was hoping for some Christmas songs. And it's funny that Mary's Little Boy's Child came up because that is one I was quite upset about. And the first time I heard the episode with Mary's Little Boy Child and Endless Love, I was laughing so hard because I thought you were misreading the song name. It's not Mary's Little Boy Child. Like, are you thinking about Little Drummer Boy? Like why? And I was laughing because repeatedly, like 17 times, like, the song name was said and I'm like, no, it's Mary's Boy Child. And apparently, it's an alternative name.

[1:31:14] Claudia: It's like a mashup. Yes.

[1:31:18] Kayla: They never say Mary's Little Boy. Like they only say Mary's Boy Child. Like they never say Mary's Little Boy Child. So why is it called that?

[1:31:25] Claudia: Because it's a mashup. But in like, it's different than most mashups because it's not they're combining both of the songs, instead of actually like putting the slash in between.

[1:31:36] Kayla: Correct?

[1:31:37] Kayla: What? What? What are they? I don't know any. Maybe I am completely off base saying this.

[1:31:44] Kayla: I'm Little Drummer Boy. I accidentally put in Marley's Little Boy Child. Brain broken. Um, let's see. Okay, Mary's Boy Child, Mary's Little Boy Child Glee. It is. Oh, wait, no, it's not a mashup. It's also known as Mary's Boy Child. It was in like the 1950s. And like the most popular version is by Boney M, like in the 70s. They have Mary's Boy Child. Oh, my Lord. Like, that's like, the most well known version, I think.

[1:32:19] Claudia: Okay, you know, anyway, I was like, Oh, I'm like, I was ashamed for you. Everyone on the podcast. I'm like, Oh, first, they're gleeks. Now they're mispronouncing like that is double embarrassment.

[1:32:32] Kayla: Put that on the t-shirt. Put that on the Born This Way shirt. And then I looked at the list. I'm like, Oh, it's one of those weird glee songs where they like, give it the wrong name. You know?

[1:32:41] Kayla: You know what I was thinking of? Because I want to cover my ass right now because I thought it was a mashup. Um, when it wasn't, I'm thinking of...

[1:32:48] Claudia: So you should be embarrassed.

[1:32:49] Kayla: So I am actually embarrassed. I'm feeling embarrassment right now. I'm thinking of Deck the Rooftop.

[1:32:56] Claudia: Oh, yeah.

[1:32:57] Kayla: That mashup of Deck the Halls and Up on the Rooftop where they did do what I was saying.

[1:33:04] Claudia: Right, where it was like a mashup, but they didn't actually say, they just combined the two songs into one title. Anyway.

[1:33:12] Claudia: Wow. Um, I'm glad that we went on that journey together. Any thoughts on the on the second competition, Kayla?

[1:33:21] Kayla: Oh, bust a move, bust a move. And man, what was the other one? Shake It Out?

[1:33:27] Claudia: The one that actually went through.

[1:33:30] Kayla: Um, no, I mean, Shake It Out, what struck me watching that was, and it gave it points, was the stacked chairs, you know, like those school, those chairs you only ever see in a school setting, like all stacked up. I'm like, Oh, you don't see chairs like those anymore.

[1:33:47] Claudia: You do not see chairs like that anymore.

[1:33:51] Kayla: That's the first time I mean, it's been a while since I've watched the performance. I'm like, Oh, I always loved that song. But like, now I have that visual and I'm like, just it's so nostalgic.

[1:34:01] Claudia: That's so interesting that the chairs are having some leverage, I guess.

[1:34:07] Kayla: Yes.

[1:34:08] Claudia: Okay. Um, that is so fascinating. Um, Kayla, are there any? Okay, now I'm opening up the floodgates for Glackick grievances. Do competitions come to mind for you?

[1:34:21] Kayla: Okay, I've got some from round one and round two. But before I talk about any songs, I have to address and defend a particular hairstyle. It gets a lot of hate on this podcast.

[1:34:30] Claudia: Okay.

[1:34:32] Kayla: The ponytail.

[1:34:34] Claudia: Who's?

[1:34:34] Kayla: For Sam?

[1:34:35] Claudia: Specifically? No, specifically Santana and Britney. There's complaints about Oh, they had their hair like the high pony and

[1:34:41] Claudia: Really? Do we say that?

[1:34:45] Kayla: Their hair down?

[1:34:46] Claudia: Yes.

[1:34:48] Kayla: I immediately thought about Sam's ponytail.

[1:34:51] Claudia: No, Sam gets a pass. It's Santana and Britney.

[1:34:53] Kayla: Sam gets a pass. That was terrible.

[1:34:56] Claudia: Yeah, that's bad. That's bad.

[1:34:58] Kayla: No, I'm pro ponytail, all ponytails. It's a very functional, excellent hair style choice. Okay, very protective, very practical, you know, and, you know, there's a whole episode on hairography. So like it prevents hairography. Great for bopping around, you know, and to put you on blast right now, Kayla, I mean, you're you have a ponytail right now.

[1:35:04] Kayla: I sure do.

[1:35:21] Claudia: Yeah. My god.

[1:35:22] Kayla: Yeah, you're living you're living the scripture.

[1:35:29] Claudia: So anyway,

[1:35:30] Claudia: wait, so wait, what are when have we talked? I believe that we apparently have but what was the context of us saying bad things about ponytails?

[1:35:41] Kayla: Oh, just it's come up several times in like different songs. It's just like, oh, it's such a shame. Like, oh, there's a high pony again. And it's like,

[1:35:49] Claudia: I do kind of feel that way. I feel that way. I just don't know if I've ever said it out loud.

[1:35:54] Kayla: Wow. So I do kind of hate it.

[1:35:56] Claudia: Explain, explain what

[1:35:58] Kayla: their hairline is gonna recede. And they must have bad headaches because their hair is all the way up there all the time. You know,

[1:36:06] Claudia: you're not doing your ponytail right if you're getting headaches.

[1:36:09] Kayla: I will say that I don't say I, the only Britney ponytail that I like is season one. Britney ponytail with the side swoop.

[1:36:21] Claudia: Massive. That's it. You get a pass if you have a bang.

[1:36:24] Kayla: Season four Rachel gets a pass. No one says anything about her ponytail.

[1:36:27] Claudia: She gets a bang.

[1:36:29] Kayla: I like her ponytail.

[1:36:32] Claudia: You forget like, oh, you forget that she has a ponytail or something. I don't know. But she doesn't get commented on. It's Santana and Britney. It's like, oh, poor them. They've got a ponytail. I'm like, no, yay for them. Lucky them. They've got a ponytail. I'm like, they're probably excited about it. Their hair's out of their face. It's a good time.

[1:36:48] Kayla: I'm gonna say that Santana, Santana's ponytail I haven't, I, I, I do, again, I believe you when you claim that we've, we've talked poorly about ponytails.

[1:36:59] Claudia: I do not, again, the, the Britney ponytails past season one, not good. Santana throughout, I have no problems. Quinn's throughout, I have no issues with. Kitty's, I'm like, I've, I've, I'm so comfortable with seeing that girl look the same in every single fucking episode. She doesn't do, and she literally is like, maybe on one hand, we can count like the times that we've seen her out of that damn Cheerios uniform. But yeah, I, I don't know. I, I, again, maybe people will come up with receipts where I'm really slandering the ponytails.

[1:37:39] Kayla: Yeah. Anyway, I had to put that out there. I'm like, I know it's not song related, but I had to put that out there. Okay. Okay.

[1:37:46] Kayla: Stay vigilant about these things.

[1:37:49] Claudia: I'm like, it's on my dress for much too long.

[1:37:51] Kayla: So ponytails have been destroyed by woke. Yes.

[1:37:58] Kayla: Um, but for actual songs, going back to round one, this time losing to getting married today. Now, this time was never my favorite song initially. And I understand the, oh, I don't have much of like feeling about it or anything, but it's a really acquired taste. Listen to that enough times and you'll be a fan. Like I really, truly believe that. Whereas getting married today, I can never acquire a taste to that. Like that's just, I'm sorry. It gives very wonderful, lovely, like skilled people that put that song together. But this time it's a shame. So throwing that out there.

[1:38:36] Claudia: Um, I wait, wait, wait, call it paperweights and something, something paperweights. Where do you stand on getting married today?

[1:38:43] Kayla: I love it.

[1:38:45] Claudia: Where do you stand on this time?

[1:38:46] Kayla: I don't know.

[1:38:48] Claudia: You don't know that girl.

[1:39:00] Kayla: I do know that girl. I do know that girl. She was on my, um, Spotify playlist of Glee songs from many years ago, but I don't listen to it now. It's a, it's a skip for me these days.

[1:39:02] Claudia: This time for me,

[1:39:05] Claudia: I hate the scene also. I hate it in the episode. I'm like, please. That was like, gosh, that was like a TBT. Thank you for so much for opening the this time discourse, Kayla. Because I'm like, I was desperate to talk about this time again. Um, this time to me takes up so much valuable real estate in the series finale that, and it's like, I understand the sentimentality of Darren Criss writing a song specifically for Lea Michele as because Lea Michele was like, I get to choose the last rollo is going to be. And then Darren was like, how about this? And then she was like, I love it. Guess what? I didn't. I didn't.

[1:39:44] Claudia: Um, what about us? What about us? We've been here for six years, too. Um, I think it just it goes on too long. What do you like about this time, Kayla?

[1:39:55] Kayla: Well, like, that's just it. It's an acquired taste. You got to know that story. I know that background. And then you got to expose yourself enough times. And you're like, actually, like, I love this. Keep this in mind. So like, uh huh. So it's like, I didn't. I had your opinion initially. I'm like, what is this song? I don't know what this is. There's no nostalgia. I have no feelings about this song. And then I like heard the background story to

[1:40:21] Claudia: And I'm like, okay, and then I watched it and I'm like, you know what, I really like this song. And then like, I watched it a few more times, I really love this song. So there you go, your least favorite Glee song.

[1:40:31] Kayla: Well, I wouldn't say it was my least favorite Glee song, but it was pretty low. "Getting Married Today" quite high, so...

[1:40:36] Claudia: Oh, oh no, this time, this time.

[1:40:38] Kayla: Yeah, it's not a pretty song.

[1:40:42] Claudia: So it's pretty. I'm gonna listen to it tonight in your honor, okay? I'm gonna give it a fresh perspective.

[1:40:49] Kayla: In my memory of it, it's just literally her walking through the hallways the entire time.

[1:40:53] Claudia: No, oh no, she's teleportation. Like, she's going all over in that song.

[1:40:58] Kayla: Yeah, she's gonna step in. Yeah, that's still kind of boring.

[1:41:04] Claudia: If they were like really yucking your yam or something.

[1:41:09] Kayla: No, I mean like this song's fine, but I'm like, that's what I mean. Like, I feel like it was taking up a lot of time in the episode, but sounds pretty and I agree listening to it. I could, I don't know, I'll do that.

[1:41:19] Claudia: Wait, so like we have a lot of homework. "Getting Married Today" kind of has a target on its back for you, Kayla.

[1:41:24] Kayla: No, I'm not spiteful.

[1:41:26] Claudia: You're not spiteful?

[1:41:28] Kayla: At least not outwardly. Oh, maybe I'll take it out. We'll see. We'll see how I feel in the moment.

[1:41:32] Claudia: Okay, okay, okay. That was a lot of discourse about that one singular competition. But I'm curious what your other grievances are.

[1:41:44] Kayla: "I'll Stand By You" season one versus "I Want to Hold Your Hand." That's another throwback.

[1:41:49] Claudia: Yes.

[1:41:51] Kayla: Yeah, and I've been holding on to that one. I think it's because "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was the first Glee performance I ever saw. I used to work at a bookstore and kids, parents, teachers were always asking for "The Land of Stories." And I'm like, what is this series? That's so cute. So I picked one day it was why in the store I'm like, pick up this book and I'm like, who is this Chris Colfer? And so I was looking like went on Google and like watched and I saw there's a video and I'm like, what is this "I Want to Hold Your Hand?" And I watched him like, ah, this is interesting. So like it was my entryway into Glee. So I'll always hold a special place in my heart because of that.

[1:42:25] Claudia: That was a bad competition. I will say that like that was nasty work. I think that I've said it before, I believe, but that competition in particular, the mindset that I had when voting for "I'll Stand By You" Finn version was that "I'll Stand By You" Mercedes version had already gone through at that point. So my perspective was like, why should we be sending the Mercedes version but not the original, you know?

[1:43:00] Kayla: I do. I think and also to be real, I do be streaming "I'll Stand By You" Finn version a little bit more than "I Want to Hold Your Hand." But I do agree that "I Want to Hold Your Hand" should be seen later today, round three. It's a travesty.

[1:43:12] Claudia: I think I would have voted "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Yeah, I think that is like easily one of the best solos and I have a lot of other Finn songs that I like more than "I'll Stand By You." I don't know, maybe on a different day I would feel sentimental and go that way.

[1:43:29] Kayla: But I feel like I think I agree with Kayla. It's a creative spin on the original, like listening to Beatles cover now or not the Beatles cover. Yeah, the Beatles cover of the author Chris Colfer. Oh, this doesn't like stack up. And then there's also like from the concert where he's like singing the song and like stop singing the song to talk to a little kid. It's like so heartwarming.

[1:43:54] Claudia: Yeah, so yeah. Okay, I'll keep, I've got a list here but I'll be brief.

[1:44:01] Kayla: We could do a speed round. We won't interrupt.

[1:44:03] Claudia: Yeah, "Your Imagination" versus "It's Too Late." Big Carole King fan. Also, I always like it when they switch, like they flip the gender of like the original artist who's singing Glee. And also it's a solo that's turned into a duet, which I really like. "I Kissed a Girl" season three versus "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away." Love "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away."

[1:44:25] Kayla: Agreed.

[1:44:26] Claudia: It goes to song like I will just listen to that song. It's one of the Glee songs where I'm like, I want to listen to a song, I will go to that one. So good. And then special mention end of round one, special mention to "They Long to Be Close to You." "Baby's Cold Outside" beat it, which is understandable. I love "They Long to Be Close to You." And there was discussion about what was the best Sam solo.

[1:44:49] Kayla: Yeah, two episodes past 100, no contest. "They Long to Be Close to You."

[1:44:56] Claudia: I think so too. I believe, I think that was just another nasty work Glackett competition.

[1:45:03] Kayla: That's nasty work.

[1:45:04] Claudia: Nasty work. Glackett gods were not present that day. Sam's another one where like his solos sometimes are like not really serving the purpose that they need to and his other vocal performances on like duets and group numbers are more closer.

[1:45:16] Kayla: Wait for me, a lot of silly goofy solos.

[1:45:23] Claudia: Yeah, where I feel like "They Long to Be Close to You," I think it's just, oh God, that's like one of the most beautiful songs of all time. And it's nice that it's for our babies.

[1:45:34] Kayla: For our baby, our baby girl.

[1:45:37] Claudia: Yeah, baby ship. Yeah, what else? Okay, so that, okay, round two. Yes, we already talked about "Mary's Boy Child." And then two of the most have to mention "Go Your Own Way" versus "Love and Mine." Where's "To Sir With Love?" We're loving love a little too much, you know? "L-O-V-E" went through "To Sir With Love." I don't know what we get it. You love love in a song and it just gets a pass or something. I don't know. I'm trying to think like what other song, like "To Love You More" was dead on arrival. That's a freaking grievance for me.

[1:46:09] Claudia: Well, okay, that was against, I believe, "River Deep Mountain High." So never mind.

[1:46:15] Kayla: You, God, that's probably why I've never said anything about it.

[1:46:18] Claudia: You gotta check the sacred text.

[1:46:22] Kayla: The sacred text, the Glackett. Yeah, what other love ones do we have? Oh, "Love and Touch and Squeeze It," like a love song, "Love You Like a Love Song."

[1:46:28] Claudia: That's going through.

[1:46:29] Kayla: Yeah, that helps your theory.

[1:46:30] Claudia: Someone has to look at the, we have to, I have to do the stats on that one. That was a realization earlier today, so I didn't have time to crunch the numbers. But I'm like, wait a second, "L-O-V-E" and then "To Sir With Love." I'm like, there's something, there's a connection here. There's a correlation.

[1:46:45] Kayla: There's something in water for sure.

[1:46:46] Claudia: Yeah, there's something rigged. Anyway, yeah, that's the main notes here.

[1:46:54] Kayla: That was perfect. Thank you. That was like really, we got some high highs and we got some low lows and you gave us everything. We laughed, we cried. But in terms of this competition that is about to transpire, what do we want out of this?

[1:47:06] Claudia: Well, I don't really want this song, but I do want it because I need to understand why people like it. I need to understand why it's good. "My Man," I don't understand that song. So someone needs to explain to me why that song's good. It does nothing for me. I had this thought and I'm like, well, I need to listen to this again for the rest of my life.

[1:47:32] Kayla: Wait, Claudia, you didn't like "My Man" until you watched the "Funny Girl" film?

[1:47:39] Claudia: Yeah, yeah, it also like didn't do anything for me. That's so gross. Like it's pretty, but okay. I, as someone that has tried multiple times to watch the "Funny Girl" movie but gets capital B bored.
