My neck is like stick straight.

Like, what can I expect? So we figured we'd take the night, kind of explain some stuff. We've got some Broadway news for you. We'll talk a little bit about Sunset Boulevard Grand Opening, opening night last night. Um, Drag the Musical had their opening night tonight as well, correct?

We have cool lives. I was sitting last night or yesterday, you guys are gonna laugh at me. Here's how much of a nerd I am. I'm playing Fortnite on my Switch Lite with one, my friend Tim that lives like 20 minutes away from Amber in Connecticut, and two, my friend Holly, who's like staying at her boyfriend's house like an hour and a half away. And we're playing Fortnite because like I'm a nerd, and I died very quickly because it wasn't like it was this horror thing, and you're fighting all these like zombie alien creatures.

[4:43] Amber Brzezinski: And um, here here, let me throw some name, let me just drop some names down. So my buddy Ming Chen, who you guys might know from um like Kevin Smith's like posse, and he did comic book band, and he has his own incredible podcast, shared universe. Um, he does a lot of comic-cons. He's super sweet. And um, so he had posted a picture with uh DMC, who if you guys had tuned in a couple months ago and I did Tampa Bay Comic Con. I met DMC and actually interviewed him for one of our panels. Um, and so I was like, oh, cool. Like two people that I make friends with are together at New York Comic-Con. I'm very jealous. Like a lot of our members were at New York Comic-Con too, which just ended. And so I picked up my phone and I texted DMC.

[5:35] Heather Bedor: That was a weird like moment of realization. I'm like, I have pretty cool friends. But Daryl makes cookies. Literally. That's one of his company brands, is DMC. Daryl makes cookies. And they're really freaking good. And so I gave him more time for it because at Tampa Bay Comic-Con, he sold out. Like he's sold, not him sold out, the cookies sold out. And I was like, I'm still waiting on my cookies. And he's like, Oh, I'm gonna send them to you. And I gave him my address. And I was like, don't tease me like that. You better send me some cookies. And I'm gonna sit there and I'm gonna eat them on the podcast. I was like, I was a Girl Scout, I know how to sell cookies. But he's like, oh, bet. So um, that was like a weird moment of like I'm texting DMC about cookies.

We had Sunset Boulevard last night with their um, their actual opening night. We have drag with their actual opening night tonight. We had previews start for Tammy Faye, a wonderful world, maybe Happy Ending.

[9:15] Heather Bedor: Yeah, there's been so many shows opening up.

[9:18] Amber Brzezinski: Like 'tis the season. That's why the best time of the year.

[9:21] Heather Bedor: It really is. We have more coming up, I think, next week, if I'm not mistaken. I think uh Romeo and Juliet uh starts their um opening night is next week. I think previews start for swept away and death becomes her next week. So, like we have so many shows.

Like, like don't just leave it for the like, oh my god, how do I stage door? Which we can answer. Um, but we really want to create a good environment, and again, we run so many shows.

Um, we're not bribing you guys to vote, we're just trying to encourage you and make it and get you know, gamifying it a little bit. [29:54] Heather Bedor: Yes. So there were only parts where they could film just on the stage, only times that they could film just like in the seating area, and he was there like beginning to end. And then um, I had asked about the Gavin Corill shutter. I said that was such a classy touch because it it's all happening at the same time. And she said the day of filming is when he passed. So they immediately decided right there to make that dedication to him, which I thought was so lovely. Um, but yeah, so we're gonna have way more to talk about next Monday. The timing of this has been hard for me to ask for any help, but without outside donations, I can't film my senior thesis. Um, the next part just blows me away for such uh maturity. I realized I couldn't ask for support for my film without donating 30% to Asheville, North Carolina. This 30% will go to Beloved Asheville, a local nonprofit organization in Nashville, North Carolina. The synopsis of the film, super, super smart. It's he's taking film and theater and marrying them together. When a delusional understudy discovers a big casting agent will be in attendance at that night's performance, he takes drastic measures to ensure he will go on as a lead and prove that he is a star.

[52:36] Heather Bedor: So I always like to reiterate, and I think that we have some friends of the show who have put people on blast for not being kind to others um at the box office.

[53:25] Amber Brzezinski: So I'm gonna have to attend to that once I'm gonna have to attend to that once we had this hair podcast.

[53:37] Heather Bedor: Um, but yeah, guys, just to kind of wrap it.

[53:40] Amber Brzezinski: We did spend some time going over Russian lottery.

[53:42] Heather Bedor: We if here's the thing if Amber and I don't know the answer and you ask on the group, somebody there is going to know.

[53:48] Amber Brzezinski: And if they don't know and we don't know, we're gonna find out.

[53:51] Heather Bedor: We have the means, we have the way of getting to somebody who can give us a direct answer.

[53:56] Amber Brzezinski: Um, that works, yeah.

[53:58] Heather Bedor: Oh, absolutely.

[53:59] Amber Brzezinski: A lot of people were asking about um the act two walk of Sunset Beloved that we showed at the top of the hour.

[54:06] Heather Bedor: Um, and like, where can I stand and what specifically what time and where do I stand?

[54:11] Amber Brzezinski: Don't make those plans.

[54:13] Heather Bedor: Like, guys, if something becomes so overwhelmed, things are gonna change.

[54:17] Amber Brzezinski: So, like, don't ruin it for people, or don't like be like, "Hey, 50 of us are gonna do this."

[54:21] Heather Bedor: Like, just to sky.

[54:27] Amber Brzezinski: Okay.

[54:28] Heather Bedor: Um, she clearly sees a ghost.

[54:37] Heather Bedor: It's fine. But all we ask is that you follow the rules of the groups. Um, they're there for a reason. Yes, put somebody asked me the other day what a name and date card is, and even other people who have posted before, they're like, "Well, why do we need that?" What is a name and date card? A piece of paper, your name and the date. That's it. Take a picture of it because so many people in other groups have taken photos and scammed, and like I personally on a lounge flight group, because I have a very big problem, hence why this is, there's a wall here. Um, very big lounge flight problem. I got scammed because the girl was in such a desperate need. She needed money because her car broke down and her boyfriend needs gas money, and I sent money stupidly, and I never got the item, and I was very upset that I got scammed.

This was a couple of years ago. Yeah, so there are ways around it. Trust your gut, post a picture, follow the rules, be kind, be kind to others. It doesn't cost anything to be kind. Um, if someone's bullying you or somebody posts something that upset you, tell us. Um, yes, we have almost 500,000 followers, which is amazing, but we're still gonna do the best we can. I'm gonna say the one thing I'm gonna ask because it's becoming a little bit of an issue, especially now with the concussion. Regular business hours, guys. Like nine to six, nine to seven. Like, like please stop texting at 11 o'clock at night or one o'clock in the morning or three o'clock in the morning, and getting mad if we're not responding right away.

Um, you know, Amber's up earlier than I am for her job. Um, I'm fortunate to work remotely, but I'm still dealing with concussion brain. So I need all the beauty sleep I can get. Um so just show kindness and respect. That's how we keep our community safe. Um, that's how we are able to offer some incredible things because I'm gonna tell you guys this. Every single one of our groups has a minimum of one person from that show in their production, creative, cast, family. It's going a long way. Okay. So just behave yourselves. It's not to be lectured, just behave yourselves. Keep up the good work of behaving yourselves. 99% of you keep up the good work. A couple of you, a couple of rotten eggs. [59:30] Heather Bedor: Oh, sweetie Todd. Um, really truly, it's it's so good, but like I don't ever consider it gory, and it's one of the more gory shows. It is definitely like one of like the quintessential spooky shows, I would say.

[59:45] Amber Brzezinski: But I don't think about it like that. I see like a tormented dude who got wronged.

[59:50] Heather Bedor: I guess that's fair. But it's definitely like one of like the Gothic.

[59:58] Amber Brzezinski: The gothic shows, yes.

[1:00:00] Heather Bedor: The Halloween season shows that it's right up there with Little Shop of Horrors.

[1:00:06] Amber Brzezinski: They go hand in hand, I feel.

[1:00:09] Heather Bedor: Well, I think Little Shop, well, yeah, because Sweeney can be funny, even though it's supposed to be spooky. Little Shop is definitely funny and it should be taken more seriously because it's a giant man-eating plan.

[1:00:18] Amber Brzezinski: Right.

[1:00:18] Heather Bedor: Um Phantom is always on I'm a Phantom fan. I run the Phantom group. Um, when I saw my first Broadway show, and I've talked about this on the show before, my stepdad waited in line for TKTS and he got all shook up. And I was pissed because I wanted my first real show on Broadway to be Phantom.

[1:00:37] Amber Brzezinski: And now I've seen it 12 times and I'm obsessed.

[1:00:40] Heather Bedor: Um and I loved All Shook Up because that's where I was introduced to Cheyenne Jackson.

[1:00:44] Amber Brzezinski: That was good.

[1:00:45] Heather Bedor: Beetlejuice.

[1:00:47] Amber Brzezinski: Beetlejuice.

[1:00:48] Heather Bedor: That was one of those shows that I like did not expect to love as much as I like.

[1:00:53] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, I knew I was gonna love it. I saw it for its um first preview. I met everybody, including Alex Winter. I have to have that playbill somewhere. Um, and it changed a little bit, but the Netherlings always showed up to the Netherlands Netherlings United. That's I think they posted it's been around five years now, which is crazy. And that group kept me sane during quarantine because I was making masks, and I was like, Oh, I found Beetlejuice fabric, and I started making Beetlejuice masks.

[1:01:25] Heather Bedor: Oh, okay.

[1:01:26] Amber Brzezinski: And because of that group, I ran into Jodie Hamilton, who is Amber Ardlino's mom, and she asked me to make the masks for Moulin Rouge because that's when Amber was in Moulin Rouge.

[1:01:38] Heather Bedor: So I did every scene as a mask. And then I was like, oh, this is cool. So and then that progressed further into great relationships. Um Rocky, everyone thinks everyone forgets Rocky Horror was a Broadway show.

[1:01:51] Amber Brzezinski: And you just saw Rocky.

[1:01:53] Heather Bedor: I just saw Rocky Horror.

[1:01:54] Amber Brzezinski: Yep.

[1:01:55] Heather Bedor: Um it was I think it was a West End show, technically.

[1:02:00] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.

[1:02:02] Heather Bedor: Yeah. I don't know if it was on the West End or just in London, but it was uh 49. They've been 49 years this year, though.

[1:02:09] Amber Brzezinski: Right.

[1:02:10] Heather Bedor: Yeah, but it it is still considered 100% theater, so that's definitely absolutely counts on our list of Halloween shows.
