[6:26] Jordan Fisher: Yeah. And it's like over the course of these months and like so as one, you really have to like lock into the like, OK, they are in love, which is kind of the same with Hades Town, where there's like it's pretty vast.

[6:41] Jordan Fisher: Yeah, it's all downhill from here.

[6:46] Solea Pfeiffer: For Christian, like we get to kind of straddle the line of both telling the story. Reminiscing, I guess, if there is a third line and that, you know, taking the audience with us like I'm Christian gets to kind of my my I love doing Hades Town so much. Orpheus became one of my most important roles I will have ever played in my life. Right. But it was always her knees.

[9:24] Jordan Fisher: Um, well, I mean, like. You know, I have a knack for finding myself in tracks where there's a girl.

[9:34] Jordan Fisher: And I'm in love.

[9:35] Solea Pfeiffer: Right. And it's like, oh, my goodness.

[9:38] Jordan Fisher: It seems to be most. Most of my career.

[9:43] Solea Pfeiffer: Falling in love with a girl.

[9:47] Jordan Fisher: Falling in love with a girl, which is awesome. Like, especially because I tend to become good friends with whoever I work opposite.

[9:51] Solea Pfeiffer: Right. Soleil became a lifer pretty instantly.

[9:55] Jordan Fisher: I mean, like I've been I was a fan of hers long before we became friends. So I getting to jump into really any track and get to play with friends is everything.

[10:05] Solea Pfeiffer: But I think that what makes Christians so different is less the track and more about where I am in my life.

[10:16] Jordan Fisher: And my perspective on how how I care or don't care about how I am viewed as an artist or as a performer, but rather doing things because it makes me feel really good.

[10:30] Solea Pfeiffer: Yeah. And the just reward in that is something that I get to experience in the thick every night.

[10:43] Jordan Fisher: Right. Which is so special. Getting to do things with friends, getting to work on a show that like obviously is beloved. And I think that as a, you know, a family man and somebody that like really loves what he does for work, but it's very much just a job.

[11:02] Solea Pfeiffer: This is Moulin Rouge is very different for me because I feel like now at 31, I'm like with a three year old and like kind of doing the thing.

[11:10] Jordan Fisher: I'm like I'm hit. I feel like I'm hitting a stride in my career and in my work life in New York and in the theater space.

[11:22] Solea Pfeiffer: And where that relates to my real life is what makes this so special and so different.

[11:27] Jordan Fisher: Because like I feel like there's longevity and sustainability. I'm feeling like I'm kind of getting to experience what sustainability feels like in this. And it's really it's really special.

[11:38] Solea Pfeiffer: No, that's so there's something because everyone gets nervous about getting older and this industry, me included.

[11:45] Jordan Fisher: I'm scared about getting older in high school, too. No, please.

[11:48] Solea Pfeiffer: No, that's like that's your social culture, though. Because we're ancient to y'all.

[11:55] Jordan Fisher: And like that wasn't the case when we were in high school.

[11:58] Solea Pfeiffer: Like ancient ancient was 40 plus now ancients like 23 or above.

[12:04] Jordan Fisher: Social media, social media kind of has changed the way that we think about age.

[12:09] Solea Pfeiffer: And right. But I'm like, it's so like I feel like I only now like after living 30 years of life, you're like so much more prepared for everything.

[12:23] Jordan Fisher: And art starts to make so much more sense just because, like, things are much better.

[12:26] Solea Pfeiffer: Yeah. You don't sweat the small stuff and you also just understand things.

[12:32] Solea Pfeiffer: On a whole new level because life, you know, life deals everyone, no matter who you are. Yes, you're all like everyone is going to have, you're going to have intense challenges that change you and make your understanding of every role that comes your way like that much deeper. And so like, you know, Jordan getting to come into Hadestown with a small, with a baby like Riley was so little. Yeah, he was like cool. And now, and just turn to me as time passes and as you learn about yourself as a father, as time passes and you just learn about yourself as an artist, it's just so...

[13:16] Solea Pfeiffer: Yeah, no, that's great. You're doing, you're a dad on Broadway. You're a dad on Broadway. I always applaud parents on Broadway. Yeah, it's like a Christian thing though too now. All of the Christians have babies except for John.

[13:48] Solea Pfeiffer: It's hard. I can never, I was telling this to Jordan, I can't even get my socks to match two days in a row and I'm like, you have a whole life that you're in charge of. My goodness, it takes a village, right? Like it'll be me.

[14:05] Solea Pfeiffer: So do you, right? Like we invest in other beautiful things that talk about hard work and dedication and whatnot. [14:20] Joel Crump: Absolutely. You know, the dynamics are all different for everybody too, right? It's like you both get home and see each other from your shows, yes, that you worked on.

[14:32] Solea Pfeiffer: Yeah, right? Like, yeah, and you talk about your day, like your timing is different for everybody as well. It's like, yeah, you gotta have to figure that out in life. But it's like all of the stuff around the shows that make it amazing.

[14:47] Joel Crump: Absolutely. So we talked in October when you were just starting to play. Yes. What has this journey been like for you from then to now?

[14:58] Jordan Fisher: Oh my gosh, so many months later. What has that been like? This moment in my life has definitely, like, I feel like this is a really incredible season to be a part of the Broadway community. Like, I feel like Broadway is finally back and like really thriving.

[15:13] Solea Pfeiffer: Yeah, like with like 40 shows opened.

[15:18] Jordan Fisher: It's always thriving, yeah. You know what I mean? That's a really good point. And so there's been something, you know, because this role is very, it's hard. It's hard on your body, it's hard on your voice. And so a lot of this has been like learning my limits, being really honest with myself about like, all right, like this is what my voice can do this week, this is what my body can handle, this is, you know, all these things, which has been really amazing. But I can stand on all ten toes being like, I know what my body needs to be able to really deliver this mammoth of a role.

[15:51] Jordan Fisher: But I think like, I don't know, to be, to know that like every night, like at seven or eight, like the curtain is going up also for Audra and for Nicole and Idina and Bernadette and George Clinton, like all these people. Wow. And so I'm just like, I am very humbled, especially with a show like Moulin Rouge, which is just like Broadway. Like, it's like, it's so many people's first Broadway show, it's so many people's favorite Broadway show. And so I have found this to be an incredibly humbling moment and that is just like, wow, like I always hoped that I would be a part of this and now here I am a part of it and so good at it.

[16:43] Solea Pfeiffer: You still, so that's like just to be, to be one of the people on stage here in the world, like to be like one small piece of all that is really, really cool. And to get to do it on the same, like I don't think I've ever had a time in my life where so many of my friends were also working on Broadway at the same time, you know? Like even just on 45th, like around 45th street, it's just like everywhere up the block. I'm like, wow, this is a really just abundant, really, really like full and like ripe time to be on Broadway. So it's really inspiring.

[17:25] Jordan Fisher: To see what's happening all around us and to be a part of like a show that's going on its sixth year of running, like healthfully, healthfully. So that's really cool.

Even when you doubt yourself, even when you're scared, even when you're tired, just keep showing up for yourself, for the work, whatever that might be.
