She is best known for her Tony Award-winning performance as Tina Turner in the Broadway musical Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
Warren made her Broadway debut in 2012 in the musical Bring It On. She received her first Tony Award nomination in 2016 for her performance in Shuffle Along, or, the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed. In 2018, she originated the role of Tina Turner in the West End production of Tina, for which she received critical acclaim. She transferred the role to Broadway in 2019 and won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
Warren has also appeared in a number of television series, including Blue Bloods, Orange Is the New Black, and Black Box. She is also a voiceover artist, and is currently the voice of Maybelline New York.
