Michael Esper plays Alan Kirby in the Broadway premiere of The Balusters. His Broadway credits include the role of Gideon Fletcher in Sting's The Last Ship, Will in Green Day's American Idiot, Curtis Lyons in The Lyons, and William Roper in A Man for All Seasons. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in Appropriate at the Hayes Theater, The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide... at The Public Theater, and numerous productions at Playwrights Horizons.
Esper has built an equally accomplished screen career. His television credits include series regular roles on FX's Trust and NBC's Do No Harm, as well as recurring roles on Amazon's Fallout and Showtime's Nurse Jackie. His film credits include Ari Aster's Beau Is Afraid, Noah Baumbach's Frances Ha, Ron Howard's A Beautiful Mind, Gareth Edwards' The Creator, and Ben Is Back opposite Julia Roberts. He has also starred in Lazarus in both New York and the West End.
