[0:22] Heather Bedor: Hello there. It's felt like five years, but it's only been two weeks since we've done a show. Do you hear a voice? I've learned, Amber, from my doctor, that apparently my car accident killed my immune system. I'm sick. Uh, you get to listen to this sultry voice here. It can go real low. Um, but I'm gonna spare you guys the ears, uh, your ear so you can listen to the rest of the podcast. Um, if you see Amber in her cute little ponytail right now, she is sharing to all of our incredible 73 groups. Um, and I'm Pepper. Doesn't sound like me, but it's me, I promise. Um, but I had like a crazy eight show week last week, and I absolutely fell in love with Swept Away, and we were able to find an official music video from Swept Away.
So we're gonna play this music video that we'll happily share on YouTube. Um, and I hope you guys enjoy it. It's such a sweet song, it's in the beginning. Um, join us. I feel like I'm gonna cats join. Okay, that's actually not cats pippin'. I'm having a day. Um, this is not the song from the beginning. We couldn't find the song from the beginning. This song is at the end. Okay, this is a song from the end. Yes, this is why I have a concussion, and Amber will correct me.
[1:45] Amber Brzezinski: That's right. You know, Ambrose, I was just testing you. That's exactly what it was. But enjoy the song. Hold on a second. Here you go, guys.
[1:55] ♪ Musical number: "Ain't No Man" — performed by the cast of Swept Away ♪
[5:49] Heather Bedor: Yay. Now I saw Swept Away a couple weeks ago. Heather saw it at my recommendation. Well, I wanted to see it. I just loved it. But I was excited that you knew it was on TDF. Right. I was saying, like, I've seen like all the previous iterations of this. What a beautiful show. Um, like what a beautiful show. So in that music video, you have Adrian Blake Ensco, of course, Dark Sands, um, John Gallagher Jr. and Wayne Duvall. Um, guys, if you have not seen the show, go see it. They literally work send it two weeks past their closing date. Um, literally, the entire cast came out ensemble, is freaking massive. Um, got to catch up with my buddy Josh Breckenridge for a little bit, um, who's moving on to you in town, but like go see the show.
Hunter Brown, the Onessa guys in the show. Hey, Nessa, Nessa, I listen Nessa. Nessa. I can't even Nessa, Nessa. Um, but like, I'm just I'm so blown away. Like, I was very fortunate to go with my friend Sebastian, and um, he and I just sat there at the stage door. Like the fans were just so lovely, but the cast, the crew, everybody that came out of a stage tour, which was literally everybody, everybody. We're there almost an hour and a half. Everyone came out, they were so humble, so kind. They knew about our group, which was so much fun. Um, John Gallagher, uh, I think John Gallard and Jude Gallagher Jr., his dad's in the group. Like, we are so happy to be running these communities where people feel safe and welcome.
[7:34] Heather Bedor: Um, but like it's so rewarding to just meet the people that are part of these shows that we are helping gather and develop the fans. We'll not give anything away, but all I will say is that the set design is out of this freaking world. It's simple, but it's so stunning. Um, they have some really it's so effective, and there's so many immersive things that happen with lighting and wind in the audience. Um, there's really no bad seat in the house. Amber, you sat like second row house left, right?
[8:12] Amber Brzezinski: Mm-hmm. I was in like the second row, and it was it was such an incredible experience to be like that close.
[8:22] Heather Bedor: Did I lose you?
[8:23] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[8:24] Heather Bedor: Nope, I'm here. I'm here. And then Sebastian and I sat almost rear orc, but it was so good. And then one of our members was posting about that they sat in the balcony and was a totally different show for them. Um, Sebastian was very mad that of the ending, and we're not giving anything away, but there's still a lot of deeper meanings behind it. But the music is so good. It's just so good. Um, I'm gonna play, I don't know. There's no view mo no video for it, but there is um ain't no man, which is a fun song. Maybe Amber, do we just want to play that and let everybody listen in?
[9:03] Amber Brzezinski: Sure.
[9:04] Heather Bedor: And then we will also ask. We know we've got a lot of people watching right now. Um, if you're in the comments section, just try to keep it to topic of where we are now, otherwise we're just constantly feeling like we're playing catch-up, but we promise we're gonna catch you guys. We have a lot to cover. Eight shows, including Amber and I getting to see the Red Bucket Follies from the freaking front row, um, which is unbelievable. And then we also did a two-show day. We did Sunset Boulevard, which we had the best seat in the house, and we'll tell you why. Um, there's no bad seat in that house, but Amber specifically selected this seat for a reason, and was it worth it?
[9:40] Amber Brzezinski: Hell yes.
[9:41] Heather Bedor: Um, and we got to see Gypsy. So, and we literally got to like be within like two inches of Audra McDonald's. So um let's go ahead and play some music and just vibe out and um we will absolutely talk all about these wonderful shows and what we got a chance to do. So stand by. Let me play. This is my favorite song from the show, by the way. So much like this is available on Spotify right.
[10:12] Amber Brzezinski: I can't hear anything.
[10:14] Heather Bedor: You can't hear it.
[10:16] Amber Brzezinski: No, I'm the only one jamming out right now.
[10:18] Heather Bedor: Why is this not working?
[10:20] Amber Brzezinski: No, stand by. I'll just be able to do that.
[10:22] Heather Bedor: I'm like, are you playing?
[10:24] Amber Brzezinski: I'm just gonna selfishly listen.

[10:45] Amber Brzezinski: There ain't nobody here.
[10:48] Heather Bedor: Who can cause me pain or raise my fear?
[10:50] Amber Brzezinski: Cause I got only love to share.

[12:41] Heather Bedor: Now I will be done.
[12:46] Amber Brzezinski: Lord, lay your hand on my shoulder.
[13:17] Heather Bedor: If you look at what you down proof, you'll find it.
[13:37] Amber Brzezinski: You find I love it so much.
[13:50] Heather Bedor: Harmonies are beautiful. I just love it so much. I just like I love it. Like, okay, so I knew I was gonna love the story because it is kind of a ghost story, and we'll just put it at that. Um, and it's I don't think the marketing has really like pushed through it. If you guys have seen the movie um in the early 2000s, like you'll have a much better idea of what it is. Um, go in there with no expectations except seeing an incredible 90-minute show with no intermission, and knowing that you're gonna be so completely immersed in a story, and when you walk out, it creates a conversation. And this is what I was talking about at a stage door after Sunday night's performance while we're waiting for him to come out, which was pretty quick. Was I love shows that create more of a conversation? Like that's like a you go to a movie and you see something. I didn't know that it was based on a movie.
[14:42] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, yeah, this is this is an old I do that it was based on a trial, but I didn't know that it was based on a movie. There's a whole iterate, there's other multiple other iterations. This is the first time it was brought to the Broadway stage.
[14:56] Heather Bedor: But yeah, but this is you have to let me know what movie that is so I can take a look.
[15:00] Amber Brzezinski: Swap, swept. I don't think I think that's a badatta movie.
[15:06] Heather Bedor: No, there's a there's I'll I'll send it to you.
[15:08] Amber Brzezinski: Okay, I got you. I got you, Ben. Um yes, but I mean Avid Brothers, hello music. Um, Amber was like, Yeah, they really remind me of Brain Went Blank.
[15:20] Heather Bedor: Big pen. Thank you. I love post-concussions together. This is so much fun. Um, but they really do, they're a big pen, very style. But like it's American Americana music, it's upbeat, there's some like rock songs, but like when you leave a theater and there's conversation about well, what do you think this meant compared to like wow, this is really cool. And you know, I was really touched by this part of it of like wow, this was a big surprise, or like, oh, I could totally tell what was happening. It's creating more of a conversation, and that's what I freaking love about theater is you experience something once all together, the way that you're feeling, the person that you're with, the seats that you're in, you experience that once in a lifetime experience, and then you still talk about it.
[16:07] Heather Bedor: Like, literally, Sebastian is still messaging me about it. I hope that he's watching with his partners of. Um, like, I don't think I actually even ever told you this, but when I saw it with Jimmy, and I told him, like, when we got there, and like it opens with an actor laying on the stage. I'm not gonna, you know, really talking, break any um spoilers, but that's how it opens.
[16:32] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, that's a real person. He was like, no way, and his mind was blown. He was like that. He was like, I can see him breathing. Oh my god, that's a real person. How long has he been lay there? That's amazing. His mind was transformed. Jimmy is Amber's best friend slash roommate, and he's he's getting to be never been to Broadway before.
[17:00] Heather Bedor: But this is his first Broadway show, right?
[17:02] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, yeah.
[17:03] Heather Bedor: So, like, I love that. I freaking love that so much. But and I'll tell you, like, so the first show, so hi everybody. We're we've got so much to cover. Um, so we can talk about should we go over Broadway news first, then we can talk about all the shows that we took in.
[17:20] Amber Brzezinski: All right, cool. So, Amber, with Broadway news.
[17:27] Heather Bedor: So, as we were swept away, they were originally supposed to close yesterday, December 15th, but they extended their run for two more weeks until December 29th.
[17:38] Amber Brzezinski: So, you have two weeks to catch that show. You do want to go see it. It's unlike anything that's on Broadway.
[17:46] Heather Bedor: So you know Or will ever be on Broadway again. There's new code Captain, get a ticket, get a get a get a cheap ticket and go see that show. You'll never experience anything like it.
[17:58] Amber Brzezinski: Um, the first single Ain't No Man just came out, what we just listened to, and the album itself will drop in February. So if you are one of our swept away fans, you can get look forward to that album dropping in February, which is very exciting.
[18:13] Heather Bedor: And you can find the link to that group on WW Tot The BroadwayfanClub.com.
[18:19] Amber Brzezinski: Exactly. We had a couple shows close yesterday. Um, we unfortunately had the big gay jamboree, which is an off Broadway show, which I've heard nothing but amazing things about.
[18:32] Heather Bedor: Um that show did uh play its final performance yesterday. We also had the roommate closing yesterday.
[18:38] Amber Brzezinski: That was starring Miss Patty Lupone and Mia Farrow.
[18:42] Heather Bedor: Um they played their final performance yesterday as well.
[18:45] Amber Brzezinski: And our friends over at the notebook played their final performance yesterday. I think one of our members saw it 19 times or something.
[18:53] Heather Bedor: Something like that. Yeah, that's incredible. Incredible.
[18:57] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so happy trails to those three shows. A wonderful run that you guys had. Very proud of you. Very excited that you guys had a successful runs on Broadway.
[19:08] Heather Bedor: Yeah. Don't forget that while we were in New York, our our dear friends over at Waterfall Fence, they also closed that Sunday.
[19:17] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, they did. They closed the Sunday before, which we did not have an episode. So we will give them a shout out.
[19:24] Heather Bedor: They closed last week on Sunday. I believe it was the eighth.
[19:29] Amber Brzezinski: Um bound with date. So um happy trails to water for elephants.
[19:36] Heather Bedor: Yes, it was eighth. Um we Amber and I made the decision to not attend the last show because we wanted as many people to attend that as possible.
[19:45] Amber Brzezinski: Um also Tammy Vay closed.
[19:47] Heather Bedor: Tammy Vay did closed as well on the eighth, yes.
[19:50] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and then if you guys are part of our water for elephants group, um, I did walk on 45th. I did not want to even go near 46 with everything loading out.
[19:59] Heather Bedor: You can see your friend Tim Dolan at Broadway Up Close. He just posted a video of the loadout as well from Michelle.
[20:05] Amber Brzezinski: Um, lots of people are asking, like, where do the posters go? Where do the banners go? I'm almost going to guarantee that you'll probably see them at Broadway Fleet in September at the closed shows booth, but we shall see what happens.
[20:18] Heather Bedor: Um yeah, there's there's been a lot of craziness.
[20:23] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, it was like a hell of a way to kick off my birthday week.
[20:26] Heather Bedor: Um, because my birthday was last Thursday, and Amber's is tomorrow.
[20:29] Amber Brzezinski: Mine is tomorrow, yes.
[20:31] Heather Bedor: So two Sagittarians in one room. Woohoo.
[20:34] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so we it it was um a hell of a way, like shows closing, shows opening, seeing stuff, not seeing stuff.
[20:45] Heather Bedor: All right, what's next in Broadway news?
[20:47] Amber Brzezinski: Um, we have Reg Rogers joining the cast of Little Shop of Horrors, which I'm very excited about. He is a complete icon, he's going to be amazing.
[20:57] Heather Bedor: Oh, yeah, very excited to see him.
[21:00] Amber Brzezinski: Um, we also had some Sunset Boulevard news and uh kind of the roommate crossover.
[21:06] Heather Bedor: We had Miss Lupone praising Sunset Boulevard.
[21:10] Amber Brzezinski: She said, and I quote, I saw Sunset Boulevard last night. I went in with Trepidation because I have strong feelings about the show.
[21:20] Heather Bedor: Not what happened to me in the show, but the show, period.
[21:23] Amber Brzezinski: I loved this production. I thought Nicole and Tom were stunning.
[21:28] Heather Bedor: I thought Nicole was unbelievable. She broke my heart.
[21:30] Amber Brzezinski: She is a force. I thought the cast was fantastic. The lighting, the use of filming was something that I questioned because I don't know where I am.
[21:41] Heather Bedor: Am I at a movie or am I at the theater?
[21:43] Amber Brzezinski: This worked brilliantly. The whole thing, the whole thing. I was energized when I left the theater. I loved it.
[21:51] Heather Bedor: Which to get a review of like that from Miss Patty Lupone.
[21:55] Amber Brzezinski: From Patty Freaking Lupone, are you kidding me? That's incredible.
[21:57] Heather Bedor: That's amazing.
[22:00] Amber Brzezinski: Yes. Yes.
[22:01] Heather Bedor: Yes, it is.
[22:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I I just went in, and I'm being very honest with everybody. I think everybody already knew. I went into Sunset, just like Patty, like, I don't know what's gonna happen.
[22:15] Heather Bedor: You know, and Amber is so incredibly like passionate about the show, and our friend Larry is one of the producers, and like we we were just like, we were kind of at odds.
[22:25] Amber Brzezinski: So Amber's like, you have to go see the show, you have to see it. You know, it's like film noir, and I'm like, oh.
[22:31] Heather Bedor: She's like, and it's like really immersive.
[22:33] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, and it's like really cool, like multimedia, and something you'd never see.
[22:36] Heather Bedor: I'm like, you know, I know you really want to see the show. You booked these tickets specifically.
[22:44] Amber Brzezinski: And do you want to tell people? We don't have to give away the seat numbers if you don't want to. Do you want to tell people specifically why you booked these scenes?
[22:51] Amber Brzezinski: I most of it people know the surprise. So I was originally supposed to go with a friend when Heather was in the city, and I texted her and I said, Do you want the good news? And she said, Yes.
[23:04] Heather Bedor: And I said, My friend is backed out, so I have tickets to both Sunset Boulevard and Gypsy.
[23:11] Amber Brzezinski: Right.
[23:12] Heather Bedor: Do you want to go to both of those with me?
[23:14] Amber Brzezinski: And she was like, Maybe.
[23:17] Heather Bedor: Possibly, obviously, just like sunset, maybe.
[23:22] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[23:22] Heather Bedor: And I said, Okay. So I specifically bought these tickets right to the left, like the left of the theater, right where the exit doors are, because that is where they re-enter the theater, specifically.
[23:39] Amber Brzezinski: From the now viral, like from the now viral everybody GTFOing out of the theater.
[23:45] Heather Bedor: It's really cool how they do it.
[23:47] Amber Brzezinski: Down Schubert and back around.
[23:49] Heather Bedor: And then all like Amber's sitting there, she's like, I was like, I found the door.
[23:55] Amber Brzezinski: Because she knew like it was in that area, and we had made friends with one of the ushers and a security, and she's like, which door?
[24:00] Heather Bedor: He's like, It's this one.
[24:02] Amber Brzezinski: Like, she could have reached her arm out and touched this door.
[24:04] Heather Bedor: I literally could have.
[24:06] Amber Brzezinski: I was so excited. I heard it's hyperventilating.
[24:10] Heather Bedor: Like it was so freaking cute. She's like, I don't, I don't know. I'm like, it's gonna be okay.
[24:15] Amber Brzezinski: We're okay. And I'm like, Are you ready for your close up, Ms. Demel? Like just really being funny, and then doors open, and like Tom Verenja's dress, like all busts right in the door.
[24:30] Heather Bedor: I mean, and then the ensemble stands there looking all cool and ominous, yeah.
[24:34] Amber Brzezinski: And I'm like, it was raining, so they were in their like big puffer jackets.
[24:40] Heather Bedor: I waved them. I was like, You guys are awesome.
[24:43] Amber Brzezinski: Um that ensemble. Let me tell you, they don't stop moving for the entire show.
[24:49] Heather Bedor: So listen, let me tell you why that seat is a great seat. Number one, you have a great view.
[24:55] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[24:56] Heather Bedor: Number two, you get that amazing experience when they bust right into the theater.
[25:02] Amber Brzezinski: And number three, you get an easy exit.
[25:06] Heather Bedor: So you get right out to go to the stage door.
[25:09] Amber Brzezinski: So easy. Like you don't even have to fight the crowds.
[25:11] Heather Bedor: We're just like boop, up, bye. It's a great seat. If you're interested in knowing, DM me.
[25:18] Amber Brzezinski: I will give you the seat info. I will give you all the tea.
[25:22] Heather Bedor: And we asked the security guard, like an ushers. We asked them like, do a lot of people book this.
[25:27] Amber Brzezinski: They're like, some people have figured it out, but not a lot.
[25:29] Heather Bedor: Um, Amber was one of those people who figured it out.
[25:32] Amber Brzezinski: I figured it out.
[25:33] Heather Bedor: Yeah. I knew it was very well worth it.
[25:36] Amber Brzezinski: And we can talk more about that once we get through Broadway news.
[25:39] Heather Bedor: We will just keep you guys hanging out. That's mostly it.
[25:41] Amber Brzezinski: That's mostly all the Broadway. I just have one more item, which is a very, very cool item.
[25:48] Heather Bedor: Go on.
[25:49] Amber Brzezinski: Supreme Court Justice.
[25:59] Heather Bedor: For one night only at Anne Juliet.
[26:01] Amber Brzezinski: Like, how freaking cool is that?
[26:04] Heather Bedor: And she's the first Supreme Court Justice to ever do this.
[26:06] Amber Brzezinski: To ever do this.
[26:08] Heather Bedor: There's like a whole video.
[26:10] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[26:10] Heather Bedor: I'm so obsessed with that.
[26:12] Amber Brzezinski: Ma'am, you forgot one of the most important things that's happening off Broadway.
[26:18] Heather Bedor: Tommy Braco's leaving Titanic.
[26:21] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, yes, Tommy Braco is leaving Sai Tanny.
[26:23] Heather Bedor: He's got a wedding so sad.
[26:25] Amber Brzezinski: He does have a wedding to play, which we're so excited for him.
[26:28] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[26:29] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, absolutely. Cannot wait to see.
[26:31] Heather Bedor: Would I love to see him in Lost Boys?
[26:33] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[26:33] Heather Bedor: Will he be in Lost Boys?
[26:35] Amber Brzezinski: Doubt it.
[26:36] Heather Bedor: No.
[26:38] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and why do I keep bringing up Lost Boys?
[26:38] Heather Bedor: Because they keep giving us little baby snippets.
[26:43] Amber Brzezinski: And then I'm gonna announce something in January.
[26:43] Heather Bedor: I can already tell you with some of the playbills I've been looking at and people I've been talking to over the last two weeks.
[26:49] Amber Brzezinski: I know who some of the casts are gonna be.
[26:53] Heather Bedor: It's gonna be Rad.
[26:54] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[26:54] Heather Bedor: Um Ryan Carton started his rehearsals for Gatsby today.
[27:01] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[27:02] Heather Bedor: Very exciting.
[27:02] Amber Brzezinski: And that's gonna have to be one of the shows we go see back together.
[27:05] Heather Bedor: Yes, and Eva Nobel Lazada announced that she will be leaving on January 30th.
[27:12] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, but you know where she'll be?
[27:12] Heather Bedor: Um the Broadway cruise.
[27:17] Amber Brzezinski: I'm gonna show her banner. I was having conversations with people at the stage door about it.
[27:20] Heather Bedor: Um, she's gonna be on the Broadway cruise with so many other people.
[27:23] Heather Bedor: Uh, Matthe Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Bob freaking Mackie is judging a costume contest that I am turning to Drag Queen from my hometown.
[27:34] Amber Brzezinski: Uh, um yes, the drag queen from your hometown.
[27:37] Heather Bedor: Um, when we were talking to Melly, um, Melissa Victor, who are our friends from Little Shop, I was flying back to Orlando, sketching out my drawing, and I sent it to her. I was like, Do you think this would work? She's like, I freaking love it. And I was like, oh my god, I need to make it reality. Um, but yeah, Eva's gonna be on the Broadway cruise. She was supposed to be at last year, but oh, she got casting Gatsby, she couldn't. Um, but Reeve was on it, boyfriend. Um, also, you know, the original um Orpheus from Hades Town. Uh, but um she is also hosting a Broadway dance party. She is DJing it. I freaking my first day. If you have not booked your Broadway cruise itinerary tickets yet, it leaves out of Miami, Florida.
Um, March 31st gets back April 4th. Um, so technically it's a Monday through Friday, yes, but you're on the ship Monday, you're on the ship Tuesday all day long. Um Wednesday you're in Cosmo, you have a ship day like at out at sea day Thursday, and you're back on Friday. Um, it is the most Broadway you can shove into your entire soul. Um, because it's 24-7, surrounded by theater people, and it's fun, fantastic. But book using refer code the number two, so two BFC, which she has to stand for big freaking coupon, but it's two Broadway fan club. Um, that'll get you $100 off of your itinerary. And I get excited thinking about it because not only did our friend Ken Davenport start posting about it and sending emails, but now there is a two-page spread about the Broadway fan club in each and every playbill. So definitely come and hang. Um, we're hoping Amber will buy her tickets.
[29:19] Heather Bedor: Well, now that Amber got into a little Fendi Bendy. Uh, but you know, that's okay. Amber doesn't know how much money she will have. Amber should maybe look at getting a credit card and just booking the trip so Heather and Amber can take the Norwegian gem by storm. But for our members that are gonna be there, we are gonna be planning a meetup, um, all sorts of fun stuff. Um, and even more exciting prior to that is Broadway Cons. We'll be talking about that as well. Um, so yeah, lots lots of fun Broadway stuff. Um, shall we talk about like the eight shows of Crazy?
[29:56] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, absolutely.
[29:57] Heather Bedor: It was like my birthday Hanukkah, like eight. It was, yeah. Eight crazy nights and crazy and matinees. Well, I love celebrating my birthday in the city. So I start my birthday week in New York and I finish it here in Florida. Um, and it was nice because it came in Friday. Um, I was a couple of hours too late to be able to see Idina Menzel do the in-person lottery for Redwood. Um, I know some of our members attended that, and then um I was determined to get tickets to maybe have the ending because it was really my only night that I didn't have anything specifically planned, or like Amber wasn't gonna be in town or Sebastian wasn't coming to visit, and then was able to hang out with my friend Michelle, also from the Broadway cruise and her whole family, like Amber hung out.
It was so great. Um, so Friday, and I'm like, all right, I'm gonna go check to see what the theater has. And let me tell you guys, their box office staff is incredibly sweet. Um, then you also have Ann, who's a house manager there, also incredibly sweet. She was so excited about the fan club. She brought us over to meet Marco. Well, meet over to meet Marco Polo, this guy's name over at the merch booth, which they have such a cute merch. Um, but I went between the box office and the box was like, we have Ms. Um go check TKTS because I know we sent some tickets over there. When a box office is honest about that, and TKTS is still giving back to the theater, and it's the theater development fund.
Like, absolutely. So I went over to TKTS and they were like, okay, well, we have like a house left orc seat, but like we also have this and we have this. And I wound up in like the second row balcony. Um, and it was great. Like it wasn't pitchforward, like it wasn't super rake, so you're not like falling out of a seat, like I always feel like I do in the lunt, um, just because it's so so tilted. Um, and maybe happy ending also starts off with a cast member laying in a bed on stage, not in a bed, but a chair. Um, but for the entire time, and it's so cool because I love that. It's very immersive. Um it is such a lovely story. It wasn't necessarily like my go-to of like, oh, I want to see this big, beautiful musical.
It was very much like narrowed down and like minimal, but it was so beautiful. Um every single cast member, and it's a small cast, is just so lovely. I got to see Darren for a little bit, um, give him his message from Max Adler. Um, who was able to see the show. Um, you know, glee because it's great. Um, the songs are fun. The story is so cute. Um, it was just so lovely. And again, the set design is very specific and very technologically advanced.
[32:50] Heather Bedor: And there's one scene, and I'm not gonna give it away, where it's very rare for me to get emotional, like to like have like a moment or like chills, and I'm thinking about it now, and it just kind of brings me back. And it was one of these moments, something happened, and I had tears streaming down my face. It I wasn't sad, it wasn't happy, it was just, and I'm gonna save this word, and please don't judge. It was freaking magical. It was magical, and I'm tearing up now thinking about it. It was so beautifully done. I can't wait for Amber to see it. I can't wait for you guys to see it, but it was such a great show. And that was a perfect way to start my week off. Um, stage doored, uh, met some new friends that were out on Long Island.
Like, you know, it was great. Like, I was hanging out with people. Every stage door room was so nice. And um, I'm really I'm getting emotional, so it's so funny. Um, but we waited, and then of course, like 45 minutes later, and Darren hasn't come out, and Helen's come out, and everybody's come out, and um, who she's adorable, by the way. Um, but Darren finally comes out, and security is like, yeah, Darren will come out and apologize for taking so long. Um, he'll be in a mask, he'll have a speaker, and he'll thank the security and he'll make you guys, and then he'll say no photo or no selfies. And he did. He came out and um he was smart. I mean, it was cold. He had his his uh face covered, so to not catch cooties like all of us did.
Um, but he had his face covered and he was using a little speaker box box, and he thanked the security for standing there longer, and he thanked all of us. And there was a woman who had traveled from Seoul where the show is based off to come see the show. That's so cool. And Darren Chris broke into legitimate Korean fluently, and had about a 10 minute conversation, and I was just like, Darren, I already love you. Like, I've had the opportunity to interface with him at Little Shop and through other clicky people, but like I was just so like that's like so many points. Like that was beautiful to see, like to really make that fan feel special. She probably wasn't expecting that. And then he came over to everybody, and I had my big green, I call it like my big green asparagus jacket because it's like this hunter green fur, and he's like, I need your jacket, it's so pretty.
And I was like, you can't have it. That was my interaction. Um, told him about the group, they were very excited for it. And everyone's like, We have a fan group, yes, yes, we run it. We have a huge community, people that love you guys. So that was fun.
[35:30] Heather Bedor: Um, was able to go home and home, meaning I commuted from Newark, guys. All the theater district, everything was booked out. So every day I took the New Jersey transit in and out. So my commute was an hour and a half each direction to get into the city to see shows. It was worth it because guess what? The next morning, Amber appeared.
[35:57] Amber Brzezinski: My commute was longer than an hour and a half.
[35:59] Heather Bedor: Your commute, yes, but you got to go home to your own bed.
[36:03] Amber Brzezinski: I had to go to a hotel.
[36:04] Heather Bedor: True. I did get to go home to my own bed.
[36:06] Amber Brzezinski: You did, and I think at that point you still had Sky.
[36:09] Heather Bedor: You guys will notice her text. Sky is back um trying to get adopted with the show, which is great. I can't wait to hear what happens. Um, but yeah, Amber and I like your train was that the train that was running late that you just missed, and yes, like huffed it over, like hoofed it over from Grand Central to the St. James, and it was great.
[36:33] Amber Brzezinski: It was it was a great show, it was so unique of a performance.
[36:37] Heather Bedor: Um I was not the huge Nicole Scherzinger fan, like I've seen her do stuff, but I'm like, I could give her tea. She did such an incredible job, and I walked out of that show, and I was just like, Amber, it's so good.
[36:52] Amber Brzezinski: It was so good.
[36:54] Heather Bedor: We did try to stage tour, nobody came out, and that's okay.
[36:57] Amber Brzezinski: Nobody came out, yeah.
[36:57] Heather Bedor: Yeah, that's fine. It's a two-show day. It's their choice. You know, they absolutely have the right to relax in between two shows. And guess what we did? Right after.
[37:07] Amber Brzezinski: We didn't care.
[37:10] Heather Bedor: But we did go to DD's soup dumpling.
[37:12] Amber Brzezinski: We did go to ZD Soup Dumpling.
[37:14] Heather Bedor: I went there maybe at least once a week once a day the entire time I was there. Um, so we went and we recharged ourselves and everything, and then we were getting ready. We went over snacks for a little bit. Amber got some cinnamon toast something, race Christmas tree.
[37:30] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, that was really good.
[37:32] Heather Bedor: Yeah. Um, and then we went in for gypsy, and let me tell you, going into the Majestic and it not being Phantom was so weird, but it was so beautiful to see the restorations, and the house was beautiful. Um, I will say, and Amber, I'm sure we can both talk about this. Um, the shows that we did see Sunset was different, but Gypsy, probably the worst experience with other audience members that I've almost had besides No Book.
[38:06] Amber Brzezinski: Um, to the point, I've got hiccups now, so it's fun, to the point where a group came in literally as like the curtain was rising, and they were on their phones texting with the text noise and on the phones, and they were flapping their jackets over us and having conversations like how we are now.
[38:29] Heather Bedor: Like singing, singing, humming, and like we're just like every time now it hurts to do it. And I'm like every five minutes. And then Amber and I are looking at each other like back and forth. They didn't care, they did not care.
[38:49] Amber Brzezinski: So I was sitting there and like so with the post concussion stuff I'm dealing with, I get really bad tinnitus. And if I get a little bit like heated up, I can't hear anything. My ear just start ringing, and I was like, I'm gonna try to breathe through this so I can enjoy the show, and um it was a little bit rough. So the minute that it broke for intermission, I went to go find an escher and explained to them a situation, guys.
[39:19] Heather Bedor: They took such quick care of it, they did. They immediately reseated us, they put us like center or but we were still like as far back as we were, but we saw a great view. The people around us were so nice, and we actually sat in front of one of the um like production crew who was there, like that was great, and the show was wonderful, and I'm gonna interrupt.
[39:38] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, Magdalena, I did see drag the musical on Monday, and we're gonna talk about that too, because what a show that was.
[39:44] Heather Bedor: Um, but yeah, I think Amber, what did you think of Gypsy?
[39:48] Amber Brzezinski: I loved it.
[39:50] Heather Bedor: I loved getting to see Jordan and Joy.
[39:54] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, one of my favorite things that they did in the show was the transition from like baby June and baby Louise to like older June and older Louise. It was like incredible the way that like they just like grew up right in front of your eyes, it was amazing.
[40:11] Heather Bedor: We did that with the like the dancers, the news boys, yeah, yeah. So, like it was really fun.
[40:15] Amber Brzezinski: So they're like little kids, and by the way, guys, the freaking kids in this show are incredible, and they all came out to the stage door and were so cute with their parents there, but like Amber and I were like, Oh my god, she's like, I can't wait for the kids to come out. I want them to sign everything.
[40:30] Heather Bedor: Um, but yeah, they would have like the little ones, and then all of a sudden something would happen, and now that's the adult version, but it was so well done. And like since I was a kid and seeing Gypsy like movie, um, I've always loved I've always loved the strippers. I don't know why.
[40:49] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but I bought the fan.
[40:51] Heather Bedor: You've got to have a gimmick. Great merch. You got your magnet.
[40:53] Amber Brzezinski: I got my magnet, and right on my fridge.
[40:58] Heather Bedor: Yay. Um and I was very excited that I also got Herbie's, was it Herbie's Burbies or something?
[41:06] Heather Bedor: Yeah, it was like a bourbon drink, thank you from the house manager. Um, but that we were able to have alcoholic beverages that were not overly sweet. It was great. Um, we did stay. Did I ever post the drinks? I don't know. I don't think I did. I don't know. Not a clue. But um, it was so good. Um, a lot of people are like, oh, it's got some stuff that it needs to work out. Sure, but you know what? That's okay. They're still in previews. Um, but it was really fun. Now, just to remind everybody, you have to go to the other side of the Majestic, the other side of the building for the stage door. So when you exit out, make a right, go up to the stoplight, make a right, make a right, and then you'll be there.
You'll see the whole crowd. That is also the door, Amber. What are the other shows that share it? Um, Stereophonic. Yes. And I don't remember what else. Maybe Outsiders. No, I thought it was like Hell's Kitchen or something. No, it's not Hell's Kitchen. I don't know. No, it's not Hell's Kitchen. I don't remember. There are three shows that share that alley to come out. So just be respectful of all the fans. Um, Audra wasn't doing any kind of signing or anything. She went right into her car, but she was very vocal. She said that she's not signing or anything during previews. So she's made it very clear. And that's absolutely fine. Yeah, I mean, it's okay. Like that is somebody who is the it's Audra's Gypsy.
You know, like that is okay. You're allowed to not stage door. And some people were like, oh, I can't believe she did that. Are you doing eight shows a week using your voice and your body? Do you rely on that? That reminds me of what happened at Hadestown, but we won't get into that. That was September's August trip with hints for some news. Audra also got a standing ovation. Um, weren't there like two standing ovations during that show? I know that Nicole got a couple of standing ovations during Sunset, but I know Nicole got one and Audra got one, so I think those are the two you're thinking. I felt like we stood up for two different—oh no, that was during— that was Follies, yeah. That was Follies.
Cannot wait to talk about Follies. I feel like the show is gonna last a little bit longer tonight. We have a lot of ground to cover. Um, so yeah, we had a great time with that, and then um so definitely go see Gypsy if you can. It was wonderful, and the Majestic's so beautiful, even without my Phantom in there. Yes, but yes, go see it. Um, okay, and then Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Um, Swept Away. I saw Swept at night, but Sebastian came up and um, oh my god, what did I see? Uh-huh. My brain hurts. I saw a Sunday matinee. What did I see? Did you? I did. This is my brain. Oh, I saw Little Shop. Oh yes. I was like, this is my brain exploding. Um, I was I was torn. I was like, what do I see a show?
Like, I everything I'm seeing this week or the new shows I want to see. Um, I I don't want to say goodbye to Water for Elephants. I'd rather have that last memory that Amber and I made together. Um, what do I see? And I had been talking to Melly, Melissa Victor, um, who's the puppeteer we had a couple of weeks ago of um Audrey II. And we have so many friends amongst that cast, and I'm like, do I see Little Shop or do I see Aladdin? Because I haven't seen Aladdin in a while, and I really want to see a Disney movie, like Disney show. And um, I was messaging Melly, and I'm like, do I pick you over Aladdin? And she's like, well, tonight is our 1500th show. It's like sold. I'll go to number 1499.
I was there for number two. It'll make sense. Um, because I was there during previews right before COVID. That was during Broadway Fleet. Um, so I managed to get like a decent ticket from TKTS instead of having to walk over to the West Side. And it was like, oh no, I didn't go to T. No, I tried to go to TKTS, they didn't have it. It's my brain. I got on today's and it was like the very far back of a theater, but that theater was so small. I was like, that's fine. Yeah. And then I got to the theater, and Amber has never been to the West Side Theater. Well, now you have. But I just you had it. So I was like sending her videos. I did a little bit of a video thing from like the waiting area, and I got into a conversation with house manager Josh.
And I was like, I'm kind of regretting this because I don't know how far away to the seat is. He was so nice. He was like, give me like five minutes to Kurt, and I might. And he had a great seat. And I was like furrow center. And to the point where like Mellie saw me when they were doing the stuff for Red Bucket, and we were like having a conversation while they were doing the announcements. But Nicholas Christopher, let me tell you, Amber's loved him since Sweeney. And I was kind of, I don't want to say hesitant, but I think everybody was. I'm trying to pull something up. I think everybody was a little bit um, I don't the concern is in the word. I think surprised by the new casting choice because they had just had such a young, young friend Seymour.
And then now you're bringing in like Sherry Renee Scott, and you've got Nicholas Christopher, and you've got James Carpanello, who can do no wrong, um, as Orin. But I was like, you know, let me go see. Let me let me see how this is. Nicholas Christopher did this incredible job as Seymour, and like all the Seymours I've seen in the past, like Jonathan Groff, Jeremy Jordan, Darren Criss, like they're not gigantic men like Nicholas Christopher is. He is so long and lanky that he plays into it, and you're just laughing your face off, and it was so much fun. Um, and Jimmy, James Carpanello, um, as Orin, who's also leaving very soon, by the way. Um, go see him now until you can see him very soon in the future in a new show that I will not mention right now.
Um, but hey, it's just almost always so much fun. But Sherry was like born for this role too, and it's just so fun. Like, she was Ursula in the original Broadway cast of Little Mermaid, like right. The singing was beautiful, the chemistry was fun, but it was definitely like a little bit more fun and like silly of a show, and I had a great time with it. I had actually sat in front of like a 15-year-old girl and her mom, and the girl was like the Broadway theater girl. Like, she's like, Oh, I just saw Hamilton, and I can't wait for this. And she's like, and her mom's like, Yeah, I'm just here because of her. And I'm going, Have you ever seen a show? She's like, Well, just the ones that she's had me go with her.
And I'm like, Are you excited? She's like, I don't really care. And I'm like, Have you seen the movie? She's like, Yeah, like when it first came out, and I said, Okay, I'm gonna check with you at intermission because just you're gonna have a good time. Like, just I'm like, and I turned to her daughter and I said, make sure you thank your mom, because not a lot of theater parents or theater kids have great theater parents that will support them. Um, and like my dad is one, like my dad and I are gonna do another New York trip next year. But and I turned to the mom and I said, Thank you on behalf of every theater kid for supporting your daughter, you know, because it's important. I think people need to hear how important it is, how they're important their family members' life, and she was so sweet, and I could see her laughing and giggling through a lot of it at intermission.
I was like, So, so did you enjoy that first half? And she's like, Oh my god, this is so fun, I love it. And I was like, right. I was like, I'm so glad you gave it a chance. That's awesome. And then instead of stage dooring, um, I got to hang out with Melly for a little bit, and we were talking snack about some other things going on, not having to do with the show, but it was so much fun to be able to hang. Um, and Nicholas Christopher was walking about to walk out stage door, but he had a visitor as well. And the stage door is directly in front of this West Side Theater, which is again the small theater. So I'm like, hold on a second. He walks out the outside the door. Everyone's going crazy.
Um, if again that name sounds familiar to you, he was a first black Sweeney on Broadway, and he's great. Um, yeah, so and then Sweat, which I already pretty much talked about. And look, are you all right, Amber? You're making all sorts of faces. Yeah, I had an itch. Oh. Um, so then, and then Sebastian and I went over to Swap. Sebastian went to go see Teeth, um, which is also closing, by the way, guys. So make sure you get your tickets now. Um, we saw Swept and it was just beautiful. It was really go see it, guys. Please go see it. Um, or at least give the music a listen. Something. Um, it is based off a true story. For some reason, my mind kept going. The movie, the movie, and I'm like, no, it's the story.
Like, I've heard the story, it's based off of true story from like I think the each records. Yeah. Um, eventually um like legal case. Yeah, oh yeah. I think I have the let's see. The history of it. One of these days, my brain will work properly, and I'll be a happy girl. Because it's just so frustrating. Let me see. La la la la. Inspired by the true story of the Meonet, which was a British yacht that sank in 1884, leaving four men stranded in a lifeboat for 24 days. And I don't think anyone's surprised the men resorted to cannibalism to survive. Musical feature songs by the Aver Brothers, a book by Tony Award John Logan and direction by Michael Mare. Musical's creative team includes three Tony Award winners.
The musical is about four men who survive a storm that sinks their whaling ship off the coast of Africa in 1888. The musical explores themes of survival brotherhood and redemption. It received rave reviews and it premiered at Berkeley Repertory Theater in the early 2022. It's described as in bold new musical. Barely. And it's so disappointing and sad, but sometimes things happen. Right. Tech McGee over there. Any updates on news? I hear it. Um, Monday was like a chill day for me in the city. Um, I stopped over at the Museum of Broadway or Friendship with the Museum of Broadway. And then I went to go see Joey McIntyre's last night at Drag: The Musical. Yeah. And we've seen you were saw it in previews, didn't you?
I did. I saw it, I think back in October. Because you got the um fish tank and the cat house buttons. Yes. Yes. And um, it was such a fun show. I did a TDF ticket because Amber was on it like every five seconds, like it's on GDF. Okay, it's on TDF now. Like we're it was great. So got a TDF ticket. Um, when I tell you I was second row center, the best seats I could have ever imagined to have. Like it's at New World Stages, which is not a huge theater. They were originally movie theaters, and I love seeing shows at New World. Um, but it was Joey McIntyre's last night. It was a fun story, it was beautiful. The costume designs were incredible. The drag queens are so much fun, the wig changes are awesome, the music is great.
The band, yeah, the set is so much fun. Oh my god, it's like the inside of my head. Um, but it very much reminded me of Hedwig. Yeah. So and I love it because the band was very much like Hedwig and the Angry Inch. And then like you have like this like competing drag queens for different clubs. I won't go into too much. Um, Joey McIntyre plays a straight guy, um, who's the brother of one of the drag queens who leads one of the clubs, and he has a son that um is starting to explore um, I guess his sexuality at a young age or like his comfortability of different things, and it was just so cool of um of a concept. It was a short show, again, no intermission. That was kind of a theme for this week.
Um but it was a great, great, great show. It was fun, and then I had the opportunity to meet Scott, who's one of the main producers of the show, because I sat behind his aunt and uncle and we talked a little bit and he knew about the group, which I love, and then they did Joey's like goodbye speech and everything, which you got on video. Um, and he was just so like joyful about it. And Liza Minnelli was not there, but had sent a bag from Tiffany's, of course. That's amazing. For Joey, and he was like, Okay, that's it. I'm retiring. My whole life has been made. Because she had sent it with a note like, you'll always have my heart. And it was so sweet. Oh, that's so cute. It was so cute. And I will say the Brendans and Joey made like the best reels on Instagram.
[54:46] Heather Bedor: Like the two kids that play Brendan and Joey, they all they did was like make like reels on Instagram, and they were like the best at social media.
[54:54] Amber Brzezinski: Like I will miss like seeing them.
[54:57] Heather Bedor: Yeah, like make all their fun reels.
[54:59] Amber Brzezinski: No, it's uh Adam has big shoes to fill.
[55:04] Heather Bedor: But I'm hearing Adam is let years past Joey.
[55:09] Amber Brzezinski: Really?
[55:09] Heather Bedor: So yeah, his performance-wise.
[55:11] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but I don't know.
[55:13] Heather Bedor: We're gonna have to go back and see again.
[55:14] Amber Brzezinski: Um yes, we'll have to.
[55:16] Heather Bedor: We are going to because it was such a fun show.
[55:18] Amber Brzezinski: It was so freaking fun.
[55:19] Heather Bedor: Oh, he's so talented.
[55:21] Amber Brzezinski: He is wonderful.
[55:22] Heather Bedor: I loved his video um that he did for Magdalena.
[55:26] Amber Brzezinski: Magdalena says that's my son is the blonde one.
[55:31] Heather Bedor: And he did a wonderful video um doing a cover of I uh song from Wicked.
[55:39] Amber Brzezinski: So go on his Instagram.
[55:40] Heather Bedor: I believe I forgive me if I'm pronouncing this wrong.
[55:44] Amber Brzezinski: Yay, Yaye, Yayir.
[55:48] Heather Bedor: It's Y-A-I-R.
[55:52] Amber Brzezinski: That's I don't know how to pronounce it.
[55:55] Heather Bedor: Yes, but Yair Kedar.
[55:58] Amber Brzezinski: Yep.
[55:59] Heather Bedor: I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing that right, but he's wonderful and talented, and he has an amazing voice.
[56:04] Amber Brzezinski: And the other Brendan is Remy Tuckerman.
[56:07] Heather Bedor: And I think I had Remy because he's a brunette.
[56:10] Amber Brzezinski: Um, yes.
[56:11] Heather Bedor: But so oh, thank you for we will definitely take that link.
[56:14] Amber Brzezinski: Thanks, Magdalena.
[56:15] Heather Bedor: We love it.
[56:16] Amber Brzezinski: We love it.
[56:17] Heather Bedor: You know what? Hit us up afterwards.
[56:18] Amber Brzezinski: Maybe we'd love to have you on the show.
[56:20] Heather Bedor: We love having supportive parents um join us because it's so important for young kids, older kids, like people to have supportive parents and just support their dreams.
[56:30] Amber Brzezinski: So, oh you did it right. Good job, Amber.
[56:35] Heather Bedor: Um, but yeah, what a fun show.
[56:38] Amber Brzezinski: And then um went out and stagedoored, and they had so I didn't go to Teeth.
[56:43] Heather Bedor: Um, Sebastian and Connor Teeth during the matinee.
[56:46] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but Teeth was doing their stage tour after drag, and before drag was Mom, I'm a big girl now.
[56:53] Heather Bedor: So the girls came out, and Marissa had come out, and she's like, That's the wrong show.
[56:53] Amber Brzezinski: That's the wrong show.
[56:59] Heather Bedor: And I was like, Don't you pull a patty?
[57:01] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but she was so they were all so sweet, and I was like, I wish I would have caught the show.
[57:05] Heather Bedor: Um, how could congratulations?
[57:08] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and then yeah, so every single person on that cast came out.
[57:13] Heather Bedor: Joey came out, um, Remy came out, all the queens came out.
[57:17] Amber Brzezinski: I have loved Alaska since RuPaul.
[57:20] Heather Bedor: Um, and then some, and it was just so much fun to see the Queens, and they were so lovely, and they remembered Amber coming um a couple of weeks ago or like a couple months ago and giving them bracelets from the Broadway fan club, and I was I made friends with some people.
[57:35] Amber Brzezinski: Sharon and her best gay were there, and he had bought the guitar and we were talking, but the band like kind of skipped our like section right outside the door, the stage door, and kept going.
[57:47] Heather Bedor: And he was like, Hold on, I bought the guitar, they all signed it.
[57:50] Amber Brzezinski: They kind of owe me.
[57:50] Heather Bedor: And I was like, No, please don't do that.
[57:52] Amber Brzezinski: I'm so sorry.
[57:53] Heather Bedor: I was like hiding behind the stanchion, and some of the band came over.
[57:58] Amber Brzezinski: Turns out it was like the development producer and co-creator who knew about the group.
[58:03] Heather Bedor: Um, so this is not the last time you're gonna hear about drag um at all.
[58:08] Amber Brzezinski: Um, Magdalene, I'm gonna interrupt my ranting for a second and say thank you.
[58:12] Heather Bedor: I'm sorry, I'm such a proud mom, as you should be, my friend.
[58:16] Amber Brzezinski: But seriously, um, yeah, I'm I've got chills and I won't get emotional, but umber, I think you can attest as well.
[58:24] Heather Bedor: Like having a strong support system, especially if it's something that the kids are so proud about and so like passionate about.
[58:32] Amber Brzezinski: Like, I would have loved to have done like theater when I was little, but my mom made me do banned.
[58:38] Heather Bedor: But did I like band? Sure. Am I a theater kid now? Absolutely.
[58:42] Amber Brzezinski: But I love that you're supporting him, and thank you for doing that.
[58:45] Heather Bedor: I think thank you on behalf of the community, and seriously, like hit us up after the show.
[58:49] Amber Brzezinski: We'd love to be able to talk more um and get you on a show if you'd be up for that.
[58:53] Heather Bedor: So please, please, please do.
[58:55] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so yeah, it was great.
[58:57] Heather Bedor: Um, I kind of just walked away like this is why I'm here, everything is great, everything is fantastic.
[59:04] Amber Brzezinski: And Amber fell asleep super early, so we didn't know what time she was taking the train in in the morning, but she did, and we went to the red bucket folly.
[59:04] Heather Bedor: The red bucket folly.
[59:19] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so Amber had actually found a red bucket follies 2024 highlight reel.
[59:24] Heather Bedor: Um, so if you guys will imbibe us for a second, um we sat, thank you.
[59:30] Amber Brzezinski: So we're gonna put this out there.
[59:31] Heather Bedor: Thank you so much.
[59:33] Amber Brzezinski: Um, to our friend Fran and the entire marketing team over at Broadway cares, our partners over there are incredible.
[59:39] Heather Bedor: Not only did they invite us to be able to come see the red bucket follies, yes, tell Jimmy to go away.
[59:45] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but to be able to see the red bucket follies, but we had front row seats, and it was incredible.
[59:52] Heather Bedor: Uh so we're gonna play the highlights for you guys, and then we will talk about our experience.
[59:57] Amber Brzezinski: Sound good?
[59:58] Heather Bedor: Yeah, yeah.
[59:59] Amber Brzezinski: See, we're only running like 15 minutes over this tonight.
[1:00:01] Heather Bedor: We'll be fine.
[1:00:02] Amber Brzezinski: All right, everybody.
[1:00:04] Heather Bedor: We've done worse.
[1:00:05] Amber Brzezinski: We have, and this is two weeks of shows in one, so you're right.
[1:00:10] Heather Bedor: All right, here we go.
[1:00:15] Amber Brzezinski: Oh we were right there.
[1:00:20] Heather Bedor: Yeah, like great deep market.
[1:00:26] Amber Brzezinski: We can see our hands in the dark.
[1:00:32] Heather Bedor: We made lots of light on the water.
[1:00:40] Amber Brzezinski: Oh my god.
[1:00:44] Heather Bedor: First time feel it in my next next time you feel it in my big map, but you'll be glad so cute.
[1:00:56] Amber Brzezinski: That's a baby.
[1:00:59] Heather Bedor: Oh my god, I have critical never typical because we whatever we syllable on a criminal, and so we've been never political, pretty visible.
[1:01:06] Amber Brzezinski: Even if you hate it, I'll make you feel like you're in it, though.
[1:01:08] Heather Bedor: You call me what you want, but never call me forgettable.
[1:01:10] Amber Brzezinski: Like we even thought I could never swim in the kitty pool.
[1:01:12] Heather Bedor: Wait, it I've been thinking the cinematic beautiful man.
[1:01:14] Amber Brzezinski: No, no, I'm gonna make a movie some music videos, videos, videos, videos.
[1:01:18] Heather Bedor: Oh my god.
[1:01:19] Amber Brzezinski: Midnight.
[1:01:23] Heather Bedor: Yeah, that's right.
[1:01:23] Amber Brzezinski: We were front row for this.
[1:01:25] Heather Bedor: Oh my god.
[1:01:28] Amber Brzezinski: Has been lost her memory.
[1:01:34] Heather Bedor: She is smiling alone in the land light.
[1:01:42] Amber Brzezinski: The withered leaves collect at my feet.
[1:01:48] Heather Bedor: And the wind begins to moan.
[1:02:01] Amber Brzezinski: Come on and stay in front.
[1:02:08] Heather Bedor: Come on and stay.
[1:02:10] Amber Brzezinski: Come on and stay by me.
[1:02:17] Heather Bedor: Come on and stay and free.
[1:02:19] Amber Brzezinski: We can be careful each other.
[1:02:27] Heather Bedor: We can remember that each and size beyond the same thing.
[1:03:04] Amber Brzezinski: How'd you create a little bit of one last thing we're gonna break up here?
[1:03:21] Heather Bedor: That's way in the beginning.
[1:03:23] Amber Brzezinski: We found a call out.
[1:03:24] Heather Bedor: So it's set up backing down to race the board will raise the box when we show you who we are.
[1:04:06] Amber Brzezinski: Amazing.
[1:04:07] Heather Bedor: Okay, thank you all for being part of that.
[1:04:11] Amber Brzezinski: Everyone that donated with our link.
[1:04:13] Heather Bedor: We really appreciate you guys coming through and donating whatever you did, big or small.
[1:04:19] Amber Brzezinski: That was amazing.
[1:04:20] Heather Bedor: Yeah, it was um really such an honor to be in that room.
[1:04:25] Amber Brzezinski: And Heather and I went in the room and we're just like we had we had like a full circle moment, didn't we?
[1:04:30] Heather Bedor: We did, but like very different.
[1:04:32] Amber Brzezinski: So you guys have heard our story about why we decided to create the Broadway fan club was at the after party for opening night of Water for Elephants, and here we are after officially becoming an LLC June twelfth again, and in memory and to celebrate my friends and our our industry um from Pulse.
[1:04:52] Heather Bedor: I've specifically wanted June 12th.
[1:04:54] Amber Brzezinski: Guys, we have only been officially a brand for six months, and we've been doing this over a year.
[1:05:02] Heather Bedor: But after having that moment where we're sitting in the room at Waterfall fence at the party, and we're like, Oh my god, we're like in the room where it happens, like we're in the room where it happens.
[1:05:12] Amber Brzezinski: Um, how are we in the room where it happens?
[1:05:14] Heather Bedor: And we changed that, and we're like, we are in the room where it happens.
[1:05:19] Amber Brzezinski: It was so fun and so incredible, and then it's just like magic and lightning in a bottle.
[1:05:26] Heather Bedor: And here we are at Folly's guests of Broadway cares in the room where we sit down, and Amber goes, Oh my god, Tom Francis was right there.
[1:05:39] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, yes, he is.
[1:05:40] Heather Bedor: Tom Francis is like just on the other side of the aisle.
[1:05:44] Amber Brzezinski: She's like, he is a baby.
[1:05:45] Heather Bedor: He's what 28 or something.
[1:05:47] Amber Brzezinski: He's like 25.
[1:05:49] Heather Bedor: And um, but then like Shana Tau was there, and Baby Newworth, or as um, what's his face from Science?
[1:05:56] Amber Brzezinski: Babe Baby New Worth, love it, and Steven Sky Bell, and Jim Hart, like just what like Scherzinger, yeah.
[1:06:06] Heather Bedor: Nicole was right, but like who else am I forgetting?
[1:06:08] Amber Brzezinski: Cole was on stage.
[1:06:10] Heather Bedor: Who was sitting in the in the audience, like all the judges?
[1:06:14] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but we're invited guests of Broadway cares, and that's like I cannot vocalize it any differently.
[1:06:24] Heather Bedor: And we're like, we're in this room right now, like holy cow.
[1:06:30] Amber Brzezinski: This is a thing.
[1:06:31] Heather Bedor: Um, so it was so cool.
[1:06:34] Amber Brzezinski: Um, they opened up with that stuff kind of new song, which is so much fun.
[1:06:38] Heather Bedor: Um, yes, Betty Buckley is singing memories, memories.
[1:06:43] Amber Brzezinski: Amazing.
[1:06:43] Heather Bedor: Uh incredible.
[1:06:45] Amber Brzezinski: She's actually the Broadway carriage ornament of the year.
[1:06:48] Heather Bedor: Like they always do Broadway legend.
[1:06:50] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but Seth Rudesky was talking to her, and she's so sweet.
[1:06:54] Heather Bedor: And he's like, Oh, it's too bad.
[1:06:55] Amber Brzezinski: I don't have a piano or anything.
[1:06:57] Heather Bedor: And then the curtain rises, the piano, and I'm like, Betty Buckley's about to start singing memory.
[1:07:01] Amber Brzezinski: And I was like, and like I stood up and she made eye contact with us and said thank you.
[1:07:06] Heather Bedor: And I'm like, oh my god, what is happening here?
[1:07:10] Amber Brzezinski: It was just, it was such a cool experience.
[1:07:13] Heather Bedor: Um, I want Christmas tree dress.
[1:07:16] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, I agree.
[1:07:17] Heather Bedor: To answer the question, um, Wicked was the show that raised the most.
[1:07:21] Amber Brzezinski: Shocking Broadway cares.
[1:07:23] Heather Bedor: Not only Wicked on Broadway, but Wicked and National Tour as well.
[1:07:27] Amber Brzezinski: Wicked on National Tour was the biggest tour as well.
[1:07:29] Heather Bedor: Yes.
[1:07:30] Amber Brzezinski: And then off Broadway, um, I know Little Shop had an anonymous donor.
[1:07:36] Heather Bedor: Um that show like that's associated with someone with the show that wherever that person is part of a show, they donate or they match all the donations.
[1:07:44] Amber Brzezinski: So Little Shop did that.
[1:07:46] Heather Bedor: Um, Oh Mary.
[1:07:51] Amber Brzezinski: And I know Sunset came in second, right?
[1:07:53] Heather Bedor: For Broadway.
[1:07:55] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but like it was so incredible, and it was funny too, because they had the certificates and like they had what to read on the back of the certificates, but on the front showed the name of the show.
[1:08:07] Heather Bedor: So it was like they didn't know, and then they would like hold it up to start talking.
[1:08:11] Amber Brzezinski: It was just fun.
[1:08:12] Heather Bedor: Um, oh look, my dad.
[1:08:14] Amber Brzezinski: Hi dad.
[1:08:16] Heather Bedor: Hi dad.
[1:08:18] Amber Brzezinski: Apparently, you're adopted now, Amber.
[1:08:20] Heather Bedor: Congratulations.
[1:08:21] Amber Brzezinski: Um I never had a dad.
[1:08:23] Heather Bedor: Oh my god.
[1:08:25] Amber Brzezinski: You can have mine.
[1:08:26] Heather Bedor: Um, my dad and I went to a wicked drive brunch for my birthday yesterday. And he loved it. It was so much fun. Um, but yeah, so Folly's was just kind of this experience that we can't wait to experience again. I know that we've already been invited to Broadway Bears. Ooh, I'm so excited. Um, but we cannot cannot emphasize like Broadway Cares does so much for the community. Um, whether here, I think Puerto Rico, um, several other things. They provide medical assistance, they provide groceries, they provide a lot to our friends that are part of a theater industry when they need it the most. Um, we are also um the only official um brand, I guess, that we could say that of that we have our Broadway cares bracelets.
So check out the Broadway FanClub.etsy.com. It is never too late to order bracelets um for the holidays. Like we're not gonna be like, oh no, you have to order them by whatever date. Amber uses her little tiny fingers to make all these beautiful bracelets. And we have Broadway Care specific ones that every bracelet purchase, it's a Broadway cares bracelet, we'll donate a dollar directly to Broadway Cares. Um, and our bracelets are only what are they running at now? Are we running them at eight or ten? Are they on sale? They are $10, but there is a sale before the holidays. They are 10% off. Hey, love it. So go check out that Etsy link. Um, that'll get you guys without having to put in a promo code.
They do. We can customize them, personalize them for whatever. Um, you know, if you're proposing to your partner and you want to essay marry me, we can do that. Um, we will we will tell somebody you want to break up with them via a bracelet, or we'll do something from your favorite show. Yeah. Rachel with her eyes. Ooh, uh that's all I hear. Um, but really, it was just it was such an experience and we're so appreciative. And um, uh, for those that don't know, the executive director of Broadway Care is Tom Viola's is his last official event as he is retiring. Um, so he did this really beautiful speech. Um, he I wish I could remember all four of the points that he said his therapist gave him several years ago, but the one that stood up to me the most was start from where you are.
And I love that. Um, and I'm gonna see if I can find that speech somewhere. I know Seth was recording from the wings. Um, but it was so funny because every time somebody would come up to present, Amber and I were like, oh yeah, I gotta text, da-da-da-da-da, or da-da-da. I've got to return their email. So we very much felt like part of the community, and it was really lovely to have happen, even to the point where the night before I got, I have to tell my schmacker story. I went into schmackeries, of course, for my hot egg dog and a cookie. And this guy's the little tiny adorable dog peed on the carpet and the garland inside store. Someone in the theater world don't know who it is. Um, and I like was like, Oh, sir, your dog is peed all over the stuff.
And it's like, oh, okay. I'm like, I'm sure if you ask them for a towel, like they can help you clean it up. He grabs napkin, throws it down on the ground and leaves. And I let the associates know, I'm like, because I love schmackeries and Zachary's great over there, his whole stock was wonderful. And they were so grossed out. And then as Amber and I are like waiting to talk to our friends who are at Broadway cares, the same person with the same dog walks out of a theater, and I'm like, of course, of course. She's like, That's the guy with the P. The P and the cute dog. Like, oh my god. So funny. But um, it was such a great experience. Um, and then what did we do Tuesday night, Amber?
[1:12:13] Amber Brzezinski: We went to our favorite spot.
[1:12:19] Heather Bedor: Our favorite Berlin nightclub.
[1:12:21] Amber Brzezinski: Our favorite spot in Berlin.
[1:12:24] Heather Bedor: The Kid Cat Club.
[1:12:25] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[1:12:26] Heather Bedor: And specifically, I love seeing Cab. It was my fifth time. Amber's third, second?
[1:12:33] Amber Brzezinski: Second.
[1:12:34] Heather Bedor: But Amber was like, yeah, Adam's out that night, and it's David Marino. And I was like, we're going. It was also on TDF. We got really good luck with it. And um, and Jeffrey, I'll answer your question. Schmackery's is right off 45th. It is the official cookies of Broadway. They do really awesome cookies, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, all sorts of great stuff. Um, they have ways so you can spike your coffees, your eggnogs, your hot cocoa's, they do ice cream sandwiches, they do brownies. It's awesome. Um, it's my favorite place to go to grab something quick and sweet, um, or to meet up with people because it's right there. So um, Rachel, are you paying for my flight?
[1:13:19] Rachel: Rachel's like, you have to go on the 25th.
[1:13:24] Heather Bedor: Um, but we went because it was like the wonder study show. Right.
[1:13:29] Amber Brzezinski: Because Ali was in there, Adam was in there, so it was David and Kyla, and um who else did we see?
[1:13:37] Heather Bedor: It was David Ayla.
[1:13:38] Amber Brzezinski: Hey, Love, why is it?
[1:13:39] Heather Bedor: Um there was an understudy for Texas, there was an understudy for Helga, yeah.
[1:13:49] Amber Brzezinski: Because Helga, like Ayla is Helga, yeah, and then there was also um and then Lulu had an understudy because David's usually Lulu, right?
[1:14:03] Heather Bedor: And I'm trying to think Gabby was still in his Frenchie, yes.
[1:14:08] Amber Brzezinski: Um and then we saw we saw Michelle Areena for the first time as Crazy costs because she just joined the company before and we hadn't seen her yet.
[1:14:18] Heather Bedor: Yeah, and I mean, let me tell you guys like that show never gets old. It really doesn't.
[1:14:23] Amber Brzezinski: And we were very excited to be able to meet one of the new house managers.
[1:14:28] Heather Bedor: Um we had great seats for the show. And at one point I'm sitting there, and I already know, like, because Amber has only sat in the balcony, like the Mez area, um, and love that from that area, but I love sitting in the orc because it's much more immersive. And I'm sitting there, and like I completely forgot that the MC's entrance is like from directly behind where we're sitting, because I was sitting on the aisle, and I'm sitting there, and I just feel like someone's sitting here and I turn and it's freaking David, and he's like, Welcome, welcome to Berlin. And I was like, Oh hi, but like it was just so funny, and we're watching and we're enjoying it, and intermission is great, and everything's like that whole team over there was really I'm gonna take my Etsy thing now.
That whole team over there was just so wonderful, and I had already messaged um David's dad, who's also in our group. Shamir is wonderful and very supportive, just like Magdalena. Um, and we love it. And Shimir was like, Oh, yeah, let David know. And they are honored that you guys are coming. I was like, stop it. But everyone we were talking to, we're like, Yeah, we run one of the fan groups, and apparently, like, I wish I could remember his name, feel so bad. The guy at merged my concussion doesn't help. He remembered me. Somebody called around and was like, Hey guys, the Broadway fan club is in house. So, like everybody knew, and we're just like, Hi here.
[1:15:54] Amber Brzezinski: Hey, um, but David came out and like I just love their energy so much. It's just like so contagious and yes.
[1:16:04] Heather Bedor: And Rachel, we were talking about you at the stage door because we we told them about how you posted that you want more of the ensemble to come out at stage door. So we did relay your message. And didn't we also talk about Rachel's costume and didn't Rachel's costume about Rachel's costume?
[1:16:21] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[1:16:22] Heather Bedor: Um, yep.
[1:16:23] Amber Brzezinski: So, but David came right over to us, and it was just we we love David so much, and there were promises that they will be on the podcast directly from their mouths, so stand by for that. Um, but it was just so nice, and like I just love that we get to support our friends in doing what they're doing and see the love from the community, whether it's through the podcasts, whether it's through the fan groups, whether it's at the stage door, like it's just so lovely to see and feel welcome, but also to help bring people along. Rachel, you never have you never have to like thank us. You're just so cute.
[1:17:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but yes, everybody should love David.
[1:17:04] Heather Bedor: No, Amber, I'm gonna ask you this because I did kind of give you my version of the difference between Eddie, David, and Adam. And for those that don't know it, well, I don't see Adam until January, so I only have the difference between David and Eddie.
[1:17:20] Amber Brzezinski: So no, of course, of course.
[1:17:22] Heather Bedor: Um, but my perspective is Eddie was very much more rigid and like spooky and animatronic y. David, because David is a professional dancer and generally performs a Lulu with like all these all beautiful like extensions. David to me is like cat like very Sesher cat like is kind of how you associate them, but very fluid in their intentionally doing like a hard breath, and it's beautiful to watch. And Adam is just like Freddie Mercury in that role. Um, and it's beautiful to see too. But I think there were three very specifically different shows. What did you think between Eddie and between David?
[1:18:01] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, I definitely agree with you. I think that Eddie is very rigid.
[1:18:06] Heather Bedor: Eddie had Eddie was almost like robotic in his motions, and Eddie felt otherworldly in a sense when he did his performances because you didn't he didn't feel quite human almost.
[1:18:06] Amber Brzezinski: David, Eddie.
[1:18:25] Heather Bedor: Oh Eddie, yeah, Eddie kind of felt like I think that's a good way of saying it, like third like robotic and like third-dimensional kind of right, yeah, like a watcher almost, right?
[1:18:36] Amber Brzezinski: David felt more like a person, but more like seductive and more like enticing and like they were like narrating, and yeah, like exactly like a drug, like it like alluring and and bringing it all in.
[1:18:57] Heather Bedor: Whereas Eddie.
[1:18:58] Amber Brzezinski: Like it doesn't matter what you're attracted to, like you need whatever David is doing.
[1:19:03] Heather Bedor: Right, exactly. Exactly.
[1:19:06] Amber Brzezinski: No, I think it's just it's such a great show. And um, I'm gonna point out something that I told Amber about. So for those of you that are fans of Capray, maybe those of you that have not seen it, or maybe not fans. There is a song, um, which is it ends, it it's the MC is dancing with a gorilla. We'll just put it that way. And it ends with um, if you could see her through my eyes, she wouldn't look Jewish at all. And a lot of people would snicker and laugh at that. Now, the show has a lot of heavy connotations. I am Jewish. Um, Ebber is hard, remind me.
[1:19:44] Amber Brzezinski: None of it.
[1:19:44] Heather Bedor: She just associates with Jewish people.
[1:19:47] Amber Brzezinski: It's great.
[1:19:48] Heather Bedor: Um, but there is a very heavy, strong, like, we're in Berlin, like there are Nazis, like this is a very strongly political show that is presented in a tolerable and digestible way, very much like Avenue Q is like an uh kid show for adults. Um, but everybody used to laugh at that line, and I would always be like, that's just really not okay. And then um, this was the first time in five shows that they did not laugh. And I was like, maybe they're finally getting it, maybe they're finally understanding it.
[1:20:24] Amber Brzezinski: So it's cool.
[1:20:24] Rachel: Rachel says she has a question.
[1:20:26] Heather Bedor: Rachel is our go-to. For those of you that don't know, Rachel was our uh Halloween costume winner with a female version of the MC, which looked very similar to mine at BroadwayCon, but that's okay. I didn't need to put a prize.
[1:20:35] Rachel: Rachel, what is your question, our friend?
[1:20:39] Heather Bedor: Tell us, tell us. We will stand by anxiously and await. But um, yeah, we had a great time. And then I left town Wednesday, and my flight kept getting delayed and not delayed and delayed and not delayed. And um, I was gonna have uh coffee with Fran at Broadway Cares, and then she had to have a meeting, so it was like I'm in the city, and I went to um the drama book club, uh yeah, drama bookshop, can't talk. And knowingly, I was going to be within two or three minutes of Lynn Minnow and Miranda getting there, who's also the owner of that shop, uh, because he was going to be doing the Warriors vinyl um like signing, essentially. So it was completely sold out, but I was happy to be there and chill and relax and take a reprieve.
[1:21:26] Amber Brzezinski: Uh yes, hold on.
[1:21:28] Rachel: Oh, Rachel, yes.
[1:21:30] Amber Brzezinski: Speaking of, I love the bracelets so much.
[1:21:32] Rachel: I want, is it okay if I give Adam the MC one? The cabaret and glamber bracelets are mine. I'll give y'all a shout-out that y'all made them.
[1:21:38] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, of course.
[1:21:39] Heather Bedor: Of course, they're yours. You can do whatever you want with them.
[1:21:42] Amber Brzezinski: What you like, Amber Shout out because she is the bracelet rock star.
[1:21:42] Heather Bedor: She is.
[1:21:48] Amber Brzezinski: Um, yeah, absolutely. At the very beginning of all of this, when we're like, we're gonna make bracelets, and that's how we're gonna fund the Broadway fan club. I had just gotten a root canal, and I had bought like a bead kit, and then I made a bunch of beads and bracelets, and then I lost half of them in my car, and then they were like covered and stuff because my car was leaking weird stuff, and I'm like, oh my god.
[1:22:14] Heather Bedor: And they were like the clay beads, and then Amber like became this like bracelet beating like genius.
[1:22:22] Amber Brzezinski: Do you like doing this?
[1:22:23] Heather Bedor: She's like, Yeah, it's gonna be something to do. I'm like, okay, so we'll sit and talk about ideas, but like Amber is like the brains behind these beaded bracelets. It's great.
[1:22:33] Rachel: Just wanted to make sure because it's his birthday the week after we go.
[1:22:37] Heather Bedor: Yeah, of course. Absolutely. Shout out to Adam Lambert for having a birthday in January.
[1:22:46] Amber Brzezinski: Happy early birthday, Adam.
[1:22:47] Heather Bedor: Happy early birthday.
[1:22:49] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, I know Adam's lovely. Um I have been seeing that he has not been coming out for matinees a lot, but guys, please just go easy on all of the people that are coming out on stage or not, because the holidays are on holiday schedules.
[1:23:04] Heather Bedor: You can hear I got a cold from vegan New York. Um just be careful. Just be careful.
[1:23:11] Rachel: His birthday is January 29th.
[1:23:14] Heather Bedor: Okay. We'll bake him a cake. Actually, Amber will bake a cake because Amber loves baking.
[1:23:18] Amber Brzezinski: And I got and I made Amber really silly burn as part of her birthday Christmas gift.
[1:23:25] Heather Bedor: Um I'm still waiting for my shelf to come in to show off this gorgeous gift that Amber got me. So being in my kitchen next to it is, it's right over there.
[1:23:37] Amber Brzezinski: I will have my shelf up, and then you guys can see next week.
[1:23:40] Heather Bedor: Um Amber got something made super cool for me, and I cannot wait to show it off. Um, and it's gonna be part of this from now on. I'm excited.
[1:23:49] Rachel: Do it.
[1:23:51] Heather Bedor: Okay. But yeah, so Wednesday was fun. No, I will say it was kind of a rainy, icky, not so great weather half the week.
[1:24:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and Heather, I'm gonna see if I can find this video. Hold on a second.
[1:24:05] Heather Bedor: You know its video I'm talking about, too, right?
[1:24:10] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, I'm gonna find it, it. It's gonna happen.
[1:24:15] Heather Bedor: Um, but we have a really incredible partner um over at the Broadway Buddy for those of you that guys that don't know it.
[1:24:22] Amber Brzezinski: Um hold on, let me see if I can open this up here. Guys, check it out.
[1:24:29] Heather Bedor: Oh my god. I I am gonna I just full found the video.
[1:24:35] Amber Brzezinski: Okay.
[1:24:36] Heather Bedor: So yes. Um so if you guys want to go to um the Broadway Buddy.
[1:24:43] Amber Brzezinski: Broadway Buddy's a playbill holder, guys.
[1:24:45] Heather Bedor: Yeah, it holds up to four. It is waterproof, but it's the Broadway Buddy.com. Enter random playbill in it.
[1:24:52] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[1:24:53] Heather Bedor: Enter the promo code TBFC, so the Broadway fan club, and you will receive free shipping on your Broadway Buddy.
[1:25:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, it was a lifesaver. You guys have to watch this video that Amber made.
[1:25:08] Heather Bedor: This is what we do. All right, can you see it, Amber?
[1:25:12] Amber Brzezinski: Great.
[1:25:14] Heather Bedor: Hey Amber, how's your playbill doing?
[1:25:16] Amber Brzezinski: It's raining.
[1:25:17] Heather Bedor: I'm in a great but my play bills dry.
[1:25:19] Amber Brzezinski: I don't know.
[1:25:21] Heather Bedor: Is that really roll thanks to the Broadway Buddy?
[1:25:25] Amber Brzezinski: Did you get any autographs on the other side of that?
[1:25:27] Heather Bedor: I did. It's not showing though.
[1:25:30] Amber Brzezinski: Hey Amber, how's your play bill doing?
[1:25:32] Heather Bedor: It's real so yeah, the Broadway Buddy's great.
[1:25:35] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, it's got this little insert says today's a great day to see the show, which kind of stabilizes your playbill.
[1:25:43] Heather Bedor: Yeah, and you can also fold it up or roll it up, which is what I was doing too, and it bounces back.
[1:25:48] Amber Brzezinski: And then Heather likes to work hers around her neck.
[1:25:51] Heather Bedor: Oh, yeah, and the marker holder, which is great, comes in handy.
[1:25:55] Amber Brzezinski: Definitely in handy.
[1:25:56] Heather Bedor: And you said it's snug enough, you're not worried about the marker coming out, which is right.
[1:25:59] Amber Brzezinski: It stays in really well.
[1:26:01] Heather Bedor: And it clips right on. But so Amber, you wear yours around your neck.
[1:26:04] Amber Brzezinski: And then the creator of it, Samantha, who's one of our members, um, she's like, I always wear mine crossbody.
[1:26:11] Heather Bedor: It's so funny. Everybody puts it around their neck, and I'm like, I wear my crossbody.
[1:26:15] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and you can adjust the straps, like it's so cool.
[1:26:20] Heather Bedor: Um, and I remember users, I think at Gypsy were asking you, and like we were talking about them at Cabaret, like it just you don't really feel it, it's not really weighted.
[1:26:30] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I think like to travel home with especially, like, I put a lot of playbills in there.
[1:26:35] Heather Bedor: Um, but it has like this ziplock mechanism in the middle that you pinch together, and then a fold over it you can snap, so it's expandable for four of them, and they fit great.
[1:26:45] Amber Brzezinski: Um, it's either a way to like show something off as you're walking through.
[1:26:48] Heather Bedor: But to me, like while I'm waiting at the stage door, even like Amber and I were getting in the habit when we sat down at a show, we took our playbills and put them into the Broadway buddy immediately, so we weren't like kicking them around, which is what I usually do, not by not.
[1:27:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so when we got to the stage door, everything was like ready. We didn't have to look for a playbill or look for a marker.
[1:27:08] Heather Bedor: Um, and we were able to just have it like waiting, and then when somebody came out, we could use that for them to have to like lay it on to have something hard to write on.
[1:27:15] Amber Brzezinski: Worked perfectly perfectly the whole time.
[1:27:18] Heather Bedor: So um now we have been seeing an influx of people also asking us about where to stay in the city.
[1:27:26] Amber Brzezinski: Um we we actually I uh I very much needed to use the restroom when Sebastian was in town.
[1:27:33] Heather Bedor: Um, and I was like, Oh, I'm gonna go over to Raising Canes, which has like 18 bathrooms, and like they don't care if people come in and they're very clean.
[1:27:40] Amber Brzezinski: But I'm like, I'm gonna go to the W because it's right here.
[1:27:43] Heather Bedor: Our friends at the W, they're so lovely. Went right up to the front desk.
[1:27:48] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, Can I please have the bathroom key?
[1:27:51] Heather Bedor: No questions asked. Um, they have a clean bathroom. Sebastian was like fascinated by the decor, and I showed him around the bar.
[1:27:58] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but like I love the W. Like they were so generous to Amber and I when we were getting ready for Halloween, and the rooms are beautiful.
[1:28:06] Heather Bedor: It's right in Times Square. It's literally a 26-second walk from there to TKTS, um, and just surrounded by theaters and it's got restaurants inside and bars inside, but one of the most incredible staffs that I've ever encountered at a hotel.
[1:28:21] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so if you're looking for a place to go stay in the city, please go to the W Times Square um, their website through Marriott.
[1:28:29] Heather Bedor: If you look up the W Times Square, make sure you're in the Marriott website.
[1:28:32] Amber Brzezinski: And then you'll enter the cluster code E, like Edward 7103.
[1:28:38] Heather Bedor: That's E7103 that'll give you a great discount off of your reservation, depending on room availability, it fluctuates.
[1:28:46] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but they will also remove your destination fee unless it is something you want to utilize, whether it's to take transportation or do a tour or something.
[1:28:54] Heather Bedor: So definitely, definitely um check them out.
[1:28:58] Amber Brzezinski: Um, yeah, I think we promoted everybody we possibly can.
[1:29:03] Heather Bedor: I think so. But if again you're looking for those bracelets like Rachel's gonna utilize for that, again, make sure to go to our Etsy page, which is the Broadway FanClub.sy.com.
[1:29:14] Amber Brzezinski: Um, Heather, how many different designs would you say we have now?
[1:29:17] Heather Bedor: Like 40?
[1:29:18] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, at least a hundred.
[1:29:20] Heather Bedor: 100 designs.
[1:29:21] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, at least.
[1:29:23] Heather Bedor: You're crazy.
[1:29:25] Amber Brzezinski: At least.
[1:29:26] Heather Bedor: And I think that's a great idea to get them. Because I get people messaging me all the time being like, what can I gift my favorite person at stage door?
[1:29:34] Amber Brzezinski: And I never even think about saying like gift them a bracelet.
[1:29:37] Heather Bedor: Yeah, give them a bracelet. I mean, well, you know, you're not trying to sound selfish if we get that.
[1:29:40] Amber Brzezinski: But like SmackDruck is a good idea, but like to send half a dozen, it's what $40.
[1:29:46] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[1:29:46] Amber Brzezinski: Which isn't bad.
[1:29:47] Heather Bedor: But like you can also get four bracelets for that.
[1:29:50] Amber Brzezinski: We can ship them right to the stage door in your chat too.
[1:29:53] Heather Bedor: Um, but they are all like a really good, thicker elastic.
[1:29:57] Amber Brzezinski: Um, they are not made with glass, so they won't shatter or get sharp.
[1:30:02] Heather Bedor: Um, lots of different designs.
[1:30:04] Amber Brzezinski: Um, Heather, you've made some for like different shows.
[1:30:08] Heather Bedor: Like, I remember a mom was ordering it for her daughter's whole cast.
[1:30:11] Amber Brzezinski: Um bachelorette parties.
[1:30:13] Heather Bedor: Guys like wearing these too.
[1:30:14] Amber Brzezinski: I'm gonna tell you, they love it.
[1:30:16] Heather Bedor: But yeah, yeah. Um, whether it's holiday or not, go ahead and do that.
[1:30:20] Amber Brzezinski: That's how we support the Broadway fan club, and that we can be able to go see shows um to support and show them the fan club, or even just stand up stage tour, or help Amber pay for uh train ticket or me for a plane ride so that we can continue to expand and buy things to do as giveaways and really try to make this a great community.
[1:30:41] Heather Bedor: Um we just love you guys so much.
[1:30:44] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, Rachel, get them for your glamvert friends.
[1:30:47] Heather Bedor: That's correct. We love you, Rachel.
[1:30:49] Amber Brzezinski: Um, we love all of you guys.
[1:30:51] Heather Bedor: So we're so happy. Thank you for hanging out with the last uh extra half hour.
[1:30:56] Amber Brzezinski: And um, this is Amber's birthday show.
[1:30:59] Heather Bedor: We didn't do a Heather birthday show. I'm so sad.
[1:31:01] Amber Brzezinski: We didn't. These are both of our birthday show.
[1:31:04] Heather Bedor: Yeah, I don't know. I finished off my birthday weekend.
[1:31:07] Amber Brzezinski: I had dinner with friends Thursday night, Friday the thirteenth.
[1:31:10] Heather Bedor: I wanted to do a pub crawl, but nobody wanted to, so I went to dinner with my mom.
[1:31:16] Amber Brzezinski: And then Saturday I went to Disney with my dad.
[1:31:19] Heather Bedor: And then I got she and I forgot the leftovers at the hotel. I was so mad.
[1:31:24] Amber Brzezinski: And then we did the wicked drag brunch.
[1:31:27] Heather Bedor: Um, but yeah, so next week is the 23rd. That is going to be our um, I think we're gonna do our year in review.
[1:31:34] Amber Brzezinski: Um, we can do that the 23rd of the 30th.
[1:31:37] Heather Bedor: And I'm going to make this announcement. I am so freaking excited.
[1:31:42] Amber Brzezinski: Um one of my favorite people, um, Orlando Boy, who's now all over the place.
[1:31:50] Heather Bedor: My lovely friend Justin Sargent will be tentatively joining us January 6th.
[1:31:54] Amber Brzezinski: He's got us back in.
[1:31:56] Heather Bedor: Uh, yes, if that name sounds familiar to you, he is currently on the Angelica Tour of Hamilton as King George.
[1:32:03] Amber Brzezinski: Um, he is also um he was in Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark.
[1:32:08] Heather Bedor: He was in Rock of Ages, um, he was just in signed of the times.
[1:32:13] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I love him so very much.
[1:32:16] Heather Bedor: I have videos of him as Riff Rath at Halloween Heart Nights from a million years ago.
[1:32:21] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and he was also in the live uh production of Joseph and the telecom technical dream.
[1:32:27] Heather Bedor: No, one of my favorite shows.
[1:32:28] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, sorry, yes, it's a third show, yes.
[1:32:31] Heather Bedor: Um, so I'm excited. He says yes anytime in January.
[1:32:35] Amber Brzezinski: I said, How about the sixth? Start the year off, right?
[1:32:37] Heather Bedor: He said, Yes. So very, very, very excited.
[1:32:41] Amber Brzezinski: Um, we might just do like our gift giving episode next week and do our year in review because guys, we have been doing this since April.
[1:32:48] Heather Bedor: It's crazy, and it's already the end of December, and it doesn't feel like that at all.
[1:32:53] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, Rachel, I'm gonna repeat this for you.
[1:32:55] Heather Bedor: I got you. Where are the bracelets?
[1:32:57] Amber Brzezinski: Etsy, Rachel.
[1:32:58] Heather Bedor: They are at the BroadwayFanClub.etsy.com.
[1:33:03] Amber Brzezinski: That'll take you right to our page.
[1:33:05] Heather Bedor: So again, guys, thank you so much for joining us.
[1:33:07] Amber Brzezinski: If you want to join any of the additional groups, um, if you think of a show, we probably have a group for it.
[1:33:13] Heather Bedor: If there's a show and we don't have a group for it, definitely message us and let us know.
[1:33:17] Amber Brzezinski: We're happy to create one so we can help create the fan community.
[1:33:21] Heather Bedor: Go to www.thebroadwayfanclub.com.
[1:33:24] Amber Brzezinski: That'll also take you to our link tree, which you can reach out to myself or to Amber.
[1:33:30] Heather Bedor: Um, if you're interested in finding out more about us, we also have our media kit there.
[1:33:34] Amber Brzezinski: Um, it's been such a hell of a year so far.
[1:33:37] Heather Bedor: We've got a couple weeks left. I can't wait to see what the next couple of weeks brings.
[1:33:40] Amber Brzezinski: It's true.
[1:33:42] Heather Bedor: For sure.
[1:33:43] Amber Brzezinski: So um, yeah, I think that's it.
[1:33:47] Heather Bedor: I've rambled on. Do you have anything that you looked at?
[1:33:50] Amber Brzezinski: No, next time I see you, I'll be a whole year older.
[1:33:53] Heather Bedor: Oh my god.
[1:33:54] Amber Brzezinski: Well, yeah, I saw you before I was a whole year older.
[1:33:57] Heather Bedor: So you had to spend my very last days with me before I was a whole year older.
[1:34:01] Amber Brzezinski: It's true.
[1:34:02] Heather Bedor: I know I'm sad. I'm so sad.
[1:34:04] Amber Brzezinski: I don't know. I'm gonna try to figure out how to come into the city in January and February because we have tickets for February and Broadway Con.
[1:34:14] Heather Bedor: It's true.
[1:34:15] Amber Brzezinski: So I might have to go uh hang out on Amber's couch for a little bit, right?
[1:34:20] Heather Bedor: Whatever, we'll figure it out, guys.
[1:34:22] Amber Brzezinski: Please be safe this week. Um, there's gonna be so much cool stuff happening.
[1:34:26] Heather Bedor: If you happen to be going into the city or you live in the city or the tri steria, please go support our friends at swept away.
[1:34:33] Amber Brzezinski: Um, we cannot encourage you any more than we can just say, please go see it.
[1:34:37] Heather Bedor: These guys deserve to feel as much love.
[1:34:40] Amber Brzezinski: I know that shows are selling out or are sold out.
[1:34:43] Heather Bedor: If you can get a ticket, make sure it's legit.
[1:34:45] Amber Brzezinski: I know people are posting on Reddit about ticket scams.
[1:34:48] Heather Bedor: Make sure they are legitimate.
[1:34:50] Amber Brzezinski: Um and the code Captain, I believe still works.
[1:34:54] Heather Bedor: Use promo code Captain at Telecharge.
[1:34:56] Amber Brzezinski: You can get, I believe it's 30% off your ticket.
[1:34:59] Heather Bedor: And if you go directly to the Swept Away Broadway musical website, that's where you'll go get tickets and I'll show you to telecharge.
[1:35:06] Amber Brzezinski: Otherwise, if you go to telecharge, you have to search in a whole other funky way.
[1:35:09] Heather Bedor: So go support our friends.
[1:35:12] Amber Brzezinski: Um, we can't wait to see what happens after the next two weeks with these guys because they're gonna be on so much incredible journey.
[1:35:20] Heather Bedor: So I'm gonna sit here and start singing um some swept away.
[1:35:25] Amber Brzezinski: And um, I hope you guys all have a good night.
[1:35:27] Heather Bedor: Thanks for hanging out with us.
[1:35:29] Amber Brzezinski: And remember, when Broadway is dark, we keep that ghost light burning, and then Amber turns a year older.
[1:35:36] Heather Bedor: So happy birthday.
[1:35:38] Amber Brzezinski: Yay.
[1:35:40] Heather Bedor: All right, good night, everybody.
[1:35:43] Amber Brzezinski: Bye bye.
