[0:42] Amber Brzezinski: Oh my goodness, I love this new office setup.
[0:44] Heather Bedor: I am currently in the process of moving.
[0:47] Amber Brzezinski: Well, so my back, like obviously, I in case people haven't noticed, I've been like super unwell lately.
[0:54] Heather Bedor: I've been having like back, neck, head, life, lots of like a voodoo spell on you.
[1:01] Amber Brzezinski: Lots of like residual pain and things like that.
[1:04] Heather Bedor: So like if anyone wants to send me good vibes or advice or things that might have worked for them, I'd love to hear it.
[1:11] Amber Brzezinski: But she hardly listens because I tell her all the time.
[1:15] Heather Bedor: Well I have a high I have a high deductible, so give me cheap things.
[1:19] Amber Brzezinski: I did magnesium glycanate.
[1:21] Heather Bedor: That's I take that.
[1:22] Amber Brzezinski: I take that.
[1:23] Heather Bedor: And then I said, see if you can get prepanol for a beta blocker.
[1:27] Amber Brzezinski: I I'm a different I'm on a different beta blocker.
[1:31] Heather Bedor: Okay.
[1:31] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and then you should get kavacava or do kava tea.
[1:36] Heather Bedor: Kava scares me.
[1:37] Amber Brzezinski: Don't why?
[1:38] Heather Bedor: I don't like the um the nummy.
[1:44] Amber Brzezinski: Then you're not using the right kava.
[1:46] Heather Bedor: Like kava tea is fine, but like I use cavacava root like gel, like from Target.
[1:53] Amber Brzezinski: Interesting.
[1:54] Heather Bedor: We'll talk afterwards.
[1:55] Amber Brzezinski: We'll talk afterwards.
[1:56] Heather Bedor: Anyways, um, yes, we did not have a show last week.
[1:59] Amber Brzezinski: We will not have a show next week.
[2:01] Heather Bedor: We're kind of in this weird well, we'll have a show, just not the right time.
[2:05] Amber Brzezinski: Correct.
[2:06] Heather Bedor: Well, it'll be yeah, not the right time, but a better time because we're gonna have a really super special guest.
[2:13] Amber Brzezinski: It'll be a cooler show, yeah.
[2:15] Heather Bedor: It's gonna be a cooler show.
[2:16] Amber Brzezinski: Um, also, welcome to the Broadway Fan Club podcast.
[2:20] Heather Bedor: My name is Heather, the lovely lady to my left, your right is one and only Amber.
[2:25] Amber Brzezinski: And her I still I still do this.
[2:28] Heather Bedor: I'm not gonna lie.
[2:29] Amber Brzezinski: I'm not gonna lie, I am that person.
[2:31] Heather Bedor: Left right, yeah.
[2:33] Amber Brzezinski: It's different on the camera.
[2:36] Heather Bedor: I finally got my nails done after um four weeks of the chrome being on.
[2:40] Amber Brzezinski: So everyone enjoy shiny.
[2:43] Heather Bedor: Um, you're welcome.
[2:44] Amber Brzezinski: This is a very they try to talk me.
[2:49] Heather Bedor: I was like, I really like the blue shift to purple, and they're like, Well, we don't know where it is because it doesn't have a number on it.
[2:55] Amber Brzezinski: But here's a gold and orange one, and I was like, that is the complete opposite side of the color wheel.
[3:00] Heather Bedor: Can we not?
[3:01] Amber Brzezinski: She was so mad she walked away.
[3:03] Heather Bedor: That's what happens when you try to move salon, anyways.
[3:06] Amber Brzezinski: Um so I had a crazy week last week, and as some of you might have heard, Amber was unable to join me in New York.
[3:16] Heather Bedor: I was so sad, yeah.
[3:19] Amber Brzezinski: She was more sure that you could get the bracelets to me.
[3:24] Heather Bedor: I really was.
[3:25] Amber Brzezinski: I like felt like I had like I had committed to this, like I need to get these to you.
[3:30] Heather Bedor: Like, I this is like a thing.
[3:32] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, I'm letting everyone down.
[3:35] Heather Bedor: I literally because she was she texted me in the morning before we went because we had the press of that for every brilliant thing, and um she was literally less than a mile from my house.
[3:48] Amber Brzezinski: Um yes, go ahead and preface it.
[3:50] Heather Bedor: Go on this dear.
[3:51] Amber Brzezinski: Um I went into the city and saw Stranger Things a couple of weeks ago, the day that the matinee was canceled, and they so I ended up having like a doubly long day.
[4:03] Heather Bedor: I have been the last few months dealing with these health health issues, and on my way home from that adventure from Stranger Things, I got like violently ill on the train, like to the point where I thought I was gonna like pass out and need like medical intervention.
[4:21] Amber Brzezinski: And I was like looking up hotels where my train went while Heather was.
[4:28] Heather Bedor: I was sitting, I was sitting in my bath, over sharing.
[4:31] Amber Brzezinski: And I was I was like, okay, I'm gonna look this up, and I'm calling hotels because I can get like a decent rate.
[4:38] Heather Bedor: And I'm like, okay, so I'm gonna do this.
[4:40] Amber Brzezinski: I'm gonna do this.
[4:40] Heather Bedor: Then I'm like on the phone.
[4:41] Amber Brzezinski: I don't know.
[4:42] Heather Bedor: I have two phones, we don't hold our phones like this anymore.
[4:44] Amber Brzezinski: So I'm on the phone, and I'm like texting.
[4:46] Heather Bedor: I think it's this now.
[4:47] Amber Brzezinski: I believe the kids do this now.
[4:48] Heather Bedor: No, because like that feels but like I have the weird thing.
[4:51] Amber Brzezinski: Like I have hold my phone underneath and be all awkward.
[4:54] Heather Bedor: Um it's fine, it's fine.
[4:56] Amber Brzezinski: It still reminds me of the Hedwig and the Angry Inch scene where she's like answering the phone with her teeth, like that's the best part ever.
[5:03] Heather Bedor: Um so yeah, so I'm like, okay, we can do this.
[5:07] Amber Brzezinski: And she's like, Amber's like, I'm just gonna get home.
[5:09] Heather Bedor: I'm just gonna get home.
[5:10] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, please call me.
[5:12] Heather Bedor: I was like, I have so I carry I carry like a mini first aid kit, but I've expanded it since then since since this incident.
[5:20] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, I've now extended my first aid kit.
[5:23] Heather Bedor: So like I looked, I took like my nausea meds, I took glucose pills, I took like any anything I had.
[5:31] Amber Brzezinski: And like it's really important to be especially when you're traveling, you know.
[5:35] Heather Bedor: Can you imagine if that happened during the show?
[5:38] Amber Brzezinski: Well, that's what I I asked the conductor, I was like, Do you happen to have like an ice pack? Like just like something to help me cool down.
[5:44] Heather Bedor: Because I was just sweating, like I was pouring sweat.
[5:48] Amber Brzezinski: Nothing.
[5:49] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[5:49] Amber Brzezinski: Luckily, I happened to have like bought a cold water, like right before we got on the train because I felt it coming on.
[5:57] Heather Bedor: Um, but now like I'm gonna start I'm gonna start carrying around those like instant ice packs because like we should, you know, we should do we should make Broadway fan club first aid kits.
[6:08] Amber Brzezinski: First aid kits, I love it.
[6:11] Heather Bedor: Yeah, but yeah, so Amber was gonna join me for every brilliant thing, and she texts me in the beginning part of the day.
[6:16] Amber Brzezinski: She's like, I'm probably I'm not feeling good.
[6:19] Heather Bedor: I can already tell.
[6:20] Amber Brzezinski: And I'm like, please stay home.
[6:21] Heather Bedor: I love you.
[6:21] Amber Brzezinski: I will see you next month.
[6:23] Heather Bedor: Please stay home because it's it was St. Patrick's Day.
[6:25] Amber Brzezinski: The city was insane.
[6:26] Heather Bedor: There was a lot of running around exactly.
[6:30] Amber Brzezinski: I you you would have not you would have not allowed it.
[6:34] Heather Bedor: I would have like struggled, and and it's not that I would have also struggled that day, but then the residual, like the it would have taken me so long to recover from it.
[6:42] Amber Brzezinski: I'm glad that you made the right choice, but yeah, we can talk about the show.
[6:46] Heather Bedor: So I came in last so a week, a week and a day ago, crazy because it feels like a year ago.
[6:52] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I flew in to Ice Lip, which I've never done before because all of the other tickets were insane because of all the stuff going on with TSA.
[7:01] Heather Bedor: So I flew into Ice Lip.
[7:04] Amber Brzezinski: Um with help from friends that lived in the area.
[7:07] Heather Bedor: My family's from Long Island.
[7:09] Amber Brzezinski: Like, it was really easy to navigate, to be honest.
[7:11] Heather Bedor: Anybody that is traveling into ice lip and or you're considering going into the city and the airlines are crazy.
[7:18] Amber Brzezinski: But if you look at IFP, it is super easy guys.
[7:21] Heather Bedor: Literally I paid eight bucks to take an Uber over to the train station.
[7:25] Amber Brzezinski: I took the L I double R for Long Island Railroad.
[7:28] Heather Bedor: It is a straight shot straight shot right into Penn Station.
[7:33] Amber Brzezinski: I think it cost me 12 bucks.
[7:35] Heather Bedor: It was like an hour and 20 minutes.
[7:37] Amber Brzezinski: I literally just played around on my phone gone into Penn Station.
[7:41] Heather Bedor: I personally don't mind walking so I walked with my suitcase um and I walked it over I use bounce and I would love bounce to sponsor us.
[7:51] Amber Brzezinski: Bounce is like the best thing I found in New York and it's all over but it's an app that you can book like a place to store your luggage or bags.
[7:59] Heather Bedor: Love it and yeah so the Muse Hotel um it right like right across the street to the museum of Broadway essentially you go in you show them your thing they scan your QR code and they store your luggage for you for the day which was amazing.
[8:13] Amber Brzezinski: So um yeah and then I ran over to the studio said hi to Alan hung out helped decorate a set for a new podcast unexpectedly it was like welcome and I had slept maybe 30 minutes.
[8:27] Heather Bedor: Here's some work.
[8:29] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah um but I love doing it so and then I rushed over to um New World because I was taking the one and only Larry Lally over to go see Heather's for the first time I'm so excited look this cast is really great.
[8:47] Heather Bedor: And there were a lot of understudies in there um yeah but I was talking to the house, and they're getting frustrated because there's a lot of people that are coming off very entitled on Reddit.
[9:00] Amber Brzezinski: And they're like putting down the house for making them put their cell phones away and stop taking it.
[9:06] Heather Bedor: Did you see the BCFA death becomes her announcement that someone posted the other night?
[9:13] Amber Brzezinski: I like talking on like socials.
[9:16] Heather Bedor: Betsy was doing the announcement, and she was like, here's a QR code.
[9:20] Amber Brzezinski: I'm gonna ask everyone to take out your cell phones, which some of you might have been doing already the whole show.
[9:27] Heather Bedor: We see you recording.
[9:29] Amber Brzezinski: And then you see Michelle in the background pointing at like spots.
[9:33] Heather Bedor: Yes.
[9:34] Amber Brzezinski: Where you could see and Betsy was like, call them out, girl, call them out.
[9:38] Heather Bedor: And I you know, like if you're gonna like if you're gonna be a sloppy mess and you're gonna try to like be disrespectful.
[9:49] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, and I will say called out, get called out, get called out for sure, but like don't do it.
[9:55] Heather Bedor: There's no and I'll tell you what happened on Wednesday that I had to step aside and use my phone, and I'll tell you how I did that without being disrespectful to the show.
[10:04] Amber Brzezinski: So Larry and I went to Heathers.
[10:07] Heather Bedor: Um Peyton List is the new Heather.
[10:09] Amber Brzezinski: Um, it was fun, it was a good show.
[10:12] Heather Bedor: Um, Larry loved it.
[10:14] Amber Brzezinski: It was great.
[10:15] Heather Bedor: He actually knew like the MD, like he knew every musician walking out the door.
[10:19] Amber Brzezinski: So that was a lot of fun.
[10:20] Heather Bedor: It was a fun meet them because it's hell of a show.
[10:23] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but yeah, it was frustrating for like the house when they like they know us, they know me at least.
[10:30] Heather Bedor: Um, because Amber hasn't come into Heather's with me yet.
[10:34] Amber Brzezinski: I know.
[10:35] Heather Bedor: I haven't I haven't seen it yet.
[10:37] Amber Brzezinski: But they know about the Stan Club, but they know about our company, and at the same time, they know like we're seeing it, and we're here to protect them.
[10:45] Heather Bedor: So, like, look, guys, don't be a dick.
[10:48] Amber Brzezinski: Right.
[10:50] Heather Bedor: The more you do that, the less their show is gonna stick around.
[10:55] Amber Brzezinski: Well, I don't know if that's the case.
[10:58] Heather Bedor: Um they're just gonna like not want to deal with you people.
[11:02] Amber Brzezinski: Well, and I honestly, what a lot of people I think don't even realize is some shows leak clips that are recorded during the show by their social media team, right?
[11:14] Heather Bedor: Just don't record unless you were specifically asked by the production and please record something, don't do it.
[11:19] Amber Brzezinski: Anyways, um, then Larry and I went to Sushi and it was it was an experience um because it was a menu that when we ordered stuff, things came out.
[11:28] Heather Bedor: We're like, what is this?
[11:30] Amber Brzezinski: They don't have an updated menu, but their recipes in the back have changed.
[11:35] Heather Bedor: Oh so we were just laughing.
[11:38] Amber Brzezinski: It was, I mean, Larry's like, you know, and shout out to Larry.
[11:42] Heather Bedor: That's he's like one of the best people, and he was we were just sitting there like cracking up.
[11:48] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but then after dinner, um, because he's upper and I was going to Brooklyn.
[11:54] Heather Bedor: You can see Jeffrey in the comments asking the Brooklyn Hotel.
[11:56] Amber Brzezinski: We'll talk about that in a sec.
[11:58] Heather Bedor: Uh, not terrible.
[11:59] Amber Brzezinski: Um, but uh we went over to Studio 54 so we could go see the Rocky Horror Marquee um and the flashing red lights, and it was really cool, and I was very excited to do that.
[12:12] Heather Bedor: Yeah, that the pictures just strapped, they just dropped some pics.
[12:16] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, from Vogue, gorgeous.
[12:18] Heather Bedor: Yeah, gorgeous.
[12:20] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so yeah, so um I had not slept at all.
[12:25] Heather Bedor: And I went back to Brooklyn.
[12:27] Amber Brzezinski: Um, so I was staying at the Moxie in Brooklyn and Williamsburg.
[12:31] Heather Bedor: Have never stayed in Brooklyn.
[12:33] Amber Brzezinski: You got Moxie, kid.
[12:35] Heather Bedor: I got Moxie.
[12:37] Amber Brzezinski: Um, it was a really interesting building because I did not notice and I learned my lesson.
[12:44] Heather Bedor: You can take the ACE to the M and J or the L.
[12:47] Amber Brzezinski: I just said a whole bunch of letters that about a week ago.
[12:50] Heather Bedor: It'd have been like, eh, I learned do not take the M and J.
[12:55] Amber Brzezinski: Take the L.
[12:56] Heather Bedor: Take take the L.
[12:57] Amber Brzezinski: First time in my life and tell people to take the L.
[12:59] Heather Bedor: Take the L.
[13:00] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[13:00] Heather Bedor: Holy crap.
[13:02] Amber Brzezinski: Totally a world of difference.
[13:03] Heather Bedor: But I did not the first night, and it was rainy, and I'm dragging my suitcase in.
[13:08] Heather Bedor: Like, I'm like a only person out here, but it felt like I was being watched.
[13:13] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[13:14] Heather Bedor: Anyways, got to the hotel. Everybody at the staff at the staff at the hotel. Holy crap, shout out to the staff over there. Incredible, absolutely incredible. We're gonna be working at a partnership with them. Um, and honestly, it's like a half hour away from Times Square.
[13:27] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, that's great.
[13:29] Heather Bedor: Totally safe in the hotel. You couldn't hear anything. The views were spectacular. Um, like absolutely spectacular. Um, floor to ceiling windows, like it was awesome. Um, and right next to a 24 hour deli. So, like, shout out to the 24 hour deli for feeding me at one o'clock in the morning. Uh um, uh, you are you are a girl that will like a fourth, not a fourth meal.
[13:55] Amber Brzezinski: Your third meal is third, yeah.
[13:57] Heather Bedor: Like second, I don't know. Like the hour, like you like you know, like the joke is like like we all talk about early early bird, uh like the early bird special is like the three to four p.m.
[14:11] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, you're you're the night owl special, exactly.
[14:16] Heather Bedor: Like that's your like time of meal time. I mean it works though, especially when I'm in the city. Look, I put 25 miles on in four. And when you're in New York, it works because the city's always an ocean, yeah.
[14:30] Amber Brzezinski: It's always going.
[14:31] Heather Bedor: Yeah, for sure. Um Monday I tried to sleep in, but we we know that doesn't really work for me. Um got in, I don't even remember what I did during the day on Monday, to be very honest. It wasn't anything crazy. Um ran around for a little bit and then I went to go see Blood Love.
[14:50] Amber Brzezinski: That was I heard that's very cool.
[14:53] Heather Bedor: It was a weird, so um, for those that don't know, I worked on a production that was out of theater 555 last year. So like it was weird to go into the space that I had known, like for some house.
[15:06] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[15:06] Heather Bedor: And see something totally different, and not only totally different, the stage is up like a foot and a half because they added a turntable and all these LED screens, and estimated at like a four million dollar production. And we're talking like an off Broadway production. Um it was interesting, it was definitely interesting, and we'll save time for that later. Um it was it was a very interesting concept, it was beautifully done. Um, and then Tuesday was when Amber was gonna come hang out. It was St. Patty's Day, and the city was totally different.
[15:39] Amber Brzezinski: And I I had not brought anything green with me because I didn't want to be like, I didn't want people that I was working with or like seeing at the stage door or like in a show being like, Oh my gosh, she's been drinking all day, you know, party, yeah. Green.
[15:52] Heather Bedor: So I went to the time score Sephora. I did some like sparkly makeup, as you do um yeah my intention when I was coming into the city I literally just had like a small green bow like a tiny bow I remember what I did Monday because I did the same thing Tuesday I hung out with David over at drama bookshop I got to hang I DBS is like one of my favorite places it really truly is and um because you never know who you're gonna see I think I told you guys uh a couple of weeks ago well I guess a month ago or so I can't talk um I was there I literally almost walked face first to Jonathan Groff um Lynn was there and there's everyone's just constantly over the place and it's such a good buzz and such a good energy vibe and David just makes everything even better because it's just like sitting and talking to my theater therapist and it's wonderful but he's such a great friend um and one of these days Amber will be in the city and be like I know who you are because I met you virtually through Heather's thoughts uh that's how it works right I'm pretty sure yeah and so when Amber was like I feel like shit and I'm like stay home I said okay time to scramble so I invited Kendra to come see um everything every brilliant thing with me and shout out Kendra thank you so much for stepping in.
[15:55] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah well we had been afraid we weren't gonna see each other throughout the week because I was just bouncing bouncing bouncing and she's very busy so um we were excited so thank you for the opportunity to see Kendra I'm sad that it meant not seeing you but I'll see you in a month uh and it was interesting getting in it was packed and it was cold. Um, but they had a whole the house. That theater is long, and it's yeah, it's not wide at all. And everybody in the house is incredible, and the merch was like easily accessible, but everybody stops the minute they hit the bar lobby because every brilliant thing, it's tears of paper and nope, are suspended, and it's really beautiful to look at, and people just stop and they're taking pictures or they're recording it instead of just looking with their freaking eyes.
[18:07] Heather Bedor: To me, like I will take a picture after I experience something if it means something to me, but like everyone wanted to put it for the crab, didn't matter who it was.
[18:14] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[18:15] Heather Bedor: Um, but so we walked in, we had really great seats. Um, we were not on a stage, and that was okay. And honestly, we didn't get a card. I was okay with that. Um, most of the really heavy interactions were done on stage, and those people paid for that. At one point, there's a proposal, there's his father, there's um these are things that are publicized. Um, you know, there's a book to borrow. So if you're going to go see everybody thing and you're sitting on the stage, bring a book, wear stripes, um, have a jacket, um, have a pen. I think there's anything else. And just if uh book pen striped shirt. No, I said striped shirt, wear a striped shirt.
[18:57] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, Ambrose wearing a striped shirt.
[18:59] Heather Bedor: She just wasn't.
[19:00] Amber Brzezinski: I did wear a striped shirt, yeah, with with a bow.
[19:02] Heather Bedor: It actually had a little heart on it, and then I had my little bow. And then I brought I brought a great book. I love it. Well, next time, next time because that show is something I would see over and over again. It's just it feels good, it's about a serious topic, but it feels good. Somehow the people that they like hand out literally, guys, Daniel Radcliffe is running around the theater, all three levels, um, and handing out cards and talking to people and in shoe stamps, just the most bountiful energy. It was insane, insane.
[19:35] Amber Brzezinski: Um, to watch him, and like the people that got the cards were all over around us. Um, and as everyone's like, kind of and the aisles are wide, like it's nice, so you can have room in front of you. And as I'm sitting there, Amber, you know exactly what I'm about to say. And Kendra and I are getting settled in, and I look to my left to see who like our seatmates are. It's freaking Tommy Bracco, Mr. Instagram himself.
[20:02] Amber Brzezinski: Oh my god.
[20:05] Heather Bedor: I literally go, Well, hello, Tommy Bracco. And I love Tommy so much. He was with a friend of his. Um, his husband was sending him photos of sneakers. I'm saying it was his husband. Well, no, I'm still um, but it was the loveliest, like I love him so much, and I told him our Instagram story of so for those that don't know or haven't heard this before. Um, for whatever reason, over the last almost two years that we've been doing this podcast, holy crap, that's insane to say. Um holy crap. But when we go into Instagram, like when I go into Instagram to go live, because that's a separate thing, like StreamYard, which is what we use, doesn't allow us to just do it. We have to connect them, which is fine. If you just and this, I've never looked up Tommy Bracco's Instagram on my laptop before. Um, we've talked on my phone, but not on my websites, like I'm on my laptop. But if I start to type the IN for Instagram, it just immediately pops up the Tommy Bracco Instagram.
[21:10] Amber Brzezinski: So weird.
[21:11] Heather Bedor: So, and then Amber was like, That's so weird, and then like a couple weeks after that started happening to me, it started to happen to her. Like it it didn't just happen to me. Like my homepage will show like the most like it will give you like shortcuts for your most and like all of a sudden it was like Tommy Bracco's Instagram is one of your shortcuts. And I was like, what? It's so weird. But I showed Tommy and I was like, This is he's like, I have what? And I was like, you need to tell Instagram because they need to start giving you royalties or something.
[21:42] Amber Brzezinski: Right.
[21:43] Heather Bedor: Or I was like, or it's really good for your numbers if everyone's getting Instagram Tommy Bracco. Right. So it's really funny. But it was such a good show. And I was, you know, the four of us between Kendra and Tommy and his friend and myself. There's times you're getting up and you're singing and you're dancing. Like it is a such an unusual show, but it is pure fucking delight. Um like it was nice, you know. You have those moments, and you and I have had this too, and we're sitting, and there's like something that happens when you like look to your partner, you're like, Yeah, yep. Like it's like that eye contact, like that quick thing, the whole show. Like, like you'll never see this. I'll never experience that show like that again.
[22:24] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah.
[22:25] Heather Bedor: Um, and I learned that Tommy is a very loud clapper. I don't know if that's a thing that just it was great, but it's good.
[22:32] Amber Brzezinski: You learned that like you couldn't have like used context clues to figure that.
[22:37] Heather Bedor: Like, I don't even in a scenario where Tommy and I are standing there and he's clapping. But he but he's he's like an Italian lap. He I but it's like just it's like the it's uh I know it's an Italian clap.
[22:55] Amber Brzezinski: I know exactly exactly what it was.
[22:59] Heather Bedor: It was lovely. I gave him a hard time. He's gonna be coming on to the podcast. Amazing. Enough said. Alan was over there, he brought his friends, so I walked over there, and of course Alan and Tommy know each other. It was like a family reunion of sorts.
[23:13] Amber Brzezinski: Of course, yeah.
[23:15] Heather Bedor: And then I don't know how I did this, and honestly, like I love you. You would have never been able to do this the way you were feeling. I hauled ass. So there was no real stage door because one, it was a first night there and I know exactly what I did. And it was St. Patty's Day. I hauled ass to the outsiders so that I could get there to cover the first curtain call for the new cast. And it was great. There we were one of three people there for for the media. Walked in, got to go down the aisle, got the shots, got the videos, tagged the cast on the Instagram post, they're resharing it. It was just pure delight. And I was like, oh, this is great. Oh, and I forgot to mention I had been fueled by delicious food because David had my buddy over at all a bookshop, had made me corned beef and cabbage. He made it for the staff, and he made me a special heather box. So I was like in heaven. I said there's boiled meats.
[24:17] Amber Brzezinski: Well, um I loved it.
[24:19] Heather Bedor: It was St. Patty's Day, but feel like I appreciate I appreciate the sharing. I love good hospitality. You know I love good hospitality.
[24:28] Amber Brzezinski: I do, I do.
[24:30] Heather Bedor: Um and then from there, and for you guys wondering why I always rambled the show, it's because Amber is sharing this to all of our groups.
[24:37] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, I'm going, I'm going buck wild right now, guys.
[24:40] Heather Bedor: I love it. I can tell it's great. But um, and I have two monitors, that's why I keep looking back and forth. I love it. From there, um, I hauled ass over to the Paramount Hotel because Matt DeAngelis and Christine Dwyer were hosting Broadway Tuesdays at the Paramount Hotel lobby on behalf of Janice Jam. Um, and it was a Janice like satellite event and it was an open mic. But what freaking talent was there, and I like went live a couple of times for the instas. Um, so you guys might have seen it. They were doing Irish drinking songs and like a full band that had just met that day, and it was like mind freaking blown. Um, I got to hang out with Chowda. Do you remember Chowda, Amber?
[25:23] Amber Brzezinski: Matt and Christine's doggy.
[25:25] Heather Bedor: Dog, yes.
[25:26] Amber Brzezinski: Okay.
[25:28] Heather Bedor: I was like, Yes, I do. He was looking, he was looking like he didn't get enough love. He does, but I sat on the floor with him for about a half hour. So I was I was getting some poppy love. Um met a really lovely influencer that came out to cover the event. It was great. Talked a lot about Janice Jam, which I'm gonna share with you guys because we're doing that. While we're chatting about it, let's just let's just share the news.
[25:49] Amber Brzezinski: That's what I'm gonna do.
[25:50] Heather Bedor: I'm already on top of that, Rose. So this is what we're talking about, guys. Janice Jam, Broadway for breast cancer, Monday, May 5th, Sony Hall, right?
[26:03] Amber Brzezinski: Right in the middle of a theater district.
[26:05] Heather Bedor: Guys, this okay, so this is the third one. Opportunity of a lifetime.
[26:10] Amber Brzezinski: It really truly is. It every single time, and it's just getting bigger and better. So it benefits BCRF, which is the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and it's on behalf of metastatic breast cancer, because if you do not know, Matt DeAngelis's mom passed away, Janice passed away from metastatic breast cancer, and just want to focus on that. Guys, look at the freaking lineup. Okay. I'm gonna read this, and I know Amber's gonna squeeze. I know. I I already got this out. I've been a deposit, Ben Raola, Brent Gomer, Caroline Bowman, obviously our dear Christine Dwyer, Hunter Brown, Jen Kalella, Jeremy Jordan, John Gallery Jr., Kara Lindsay, Kayla Javion, Christa Rodriguez, Lauren Patton, Lissa D. Guzman, uh Maya Rafigo, Marty Thomas, obviously Matt, uh, Morgan Anita Wood, Nick Walker, Mr. Masquerade himself, Omar Jose Cardano, who I've known Omar for years because he was an Orlando boy, uh, Rachel Potter, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Sarah Shinley Bentley, freaking Stark, Stark Sands, Tammy Eagle Bowling.
Guys, this show is going to be nuts. And let me tell you what they are doing about it. Okay. So all of these massive performances, it's uh kind of a Star Wars-y date, but like, think about the event itself. It's going to be incredible. Incredible. So Janice passed away in 2022. And um, if you guys remember Matt and Christine joined us, they did an event at Masquerade. There's so many things coming up, but to honor her, this is the main yearly celebration, remembrance, and awareness. It is absolutely incredible. Like these pictures, everybody's so happy. This is Norm Lewis, Mr. Phantom himself as well. Um, and it's a hell of a time. Um I'm gonna say it. I always say it, but you wanna be in the room where it happens. The room where it happens. Absolutely.
[28:06] Heather Bedor: On top of that, um, we have been extended the privilege and honor. If we want to create a Broadway Fan Club table, what does that mean, Heather? It means one of two things. What does that mean? What does that mean? It means one of two things. Either we find a sponsor, and it's a $5,000 table purchase, or we have 10 of our members purchase $500 tickets, or we have people that donate so that people that might not be able to afford it on their own can attend this event.
[28:39] Amber Brzezinski: Okay. What comes with this, besides this absolutely incredible show of like epic proportions, you get a delicious meal. Um, and like Matt told me the menu the other day, and I'm like, oh my god, it's not like my stomach was crawling. And guys, there are cookies involved. Um, just saying, but an open bar, I think it's beer, wine, champagne for two hours, early access to the show, a seat at the table where it happens. Um, and you also have early access and direct access to the after party for the event, which is rub and elbows with all those people that I just mentioned, and then some. What all of this means is every single dollar raised for Janice Jam goes directly to Janice Jam for the breast cancer research.
[29:28] Heather Bedor: Okay. I also forgot they have liquor sponsors. So besides two hours, you also get complimentary cocktails from your liquor sponsors. Hello. Yeah. And it's much more of a different experience than you would be getting from the general admission.
[29:45] Amber Brzezinski: Not that general admission's bad. Not that it's bad. Yeah, not that it's bad, but it is it, it's if you're ever like, I want that experience that will take it to the next level. This is that experience. Like, this is a chance to have that experience.
[30:00] Heather Bedor: Yeah, and you don't have to be like dressed up in a giant ball gown. Yeah, you can. You absolutely can be. This is going to be an experience of a lifetime. So please reach out to either me or Amber. Um, or you can reach out to us if you go to our website, www.thebroadwayfanclub.com. W.thebroadwayfanclub.com. You can reach out to us there as well. Um guys, this is important. This is an important thing to be able to attend. I believe if I remember correctly, because like obviously I've been ill in like my but uh what Matt and Christine were saying that is like different about the organization that they work with versus like other organizations, is a lot of organizations, like their funding and things like that are focused on like finding like preventative measures, cure like things like that.
Whereas the organization I believe that they work with specifically works with folks that are already dealing with breast cancer and like helping them to navigate what this situation is like while also putting the funding into finding things like cures, ways to live, ways to, you know, make life um, you know, like longer and and and things just to improve your quality of life.
[31:29] Amber Brzezinski: But I I do remember them specifically mentioning like that's the focus of this organization versus a lot of the other breast cancer organizations that you might be familiar with.
[31:40] Heather Bedor: Yeah, I just pulled up the BCRF website too, so you guys can see the impact that they're making. So uh they invest in research, it's changing how we think about cancer. That means more answers, faster breakthroughs, and personalized treatment for every patient with more than a billion dollars raised to fuel our mission. This that's progress this year. BCRF is the largest private, private. That is key. No, I'm saying the largest key, largest private funder of breast breast cancer research and the largest private funder of metastatic research in the US.
[32:02] Amber Brzezinski: Amazing. Since 1998, the FDA approves Perceptin. They move it all the way through this time frame. They fund the best researchers in the world, their areas of focus, hereditary heredity and ethnicity, lifestyle and prevention, metastasis, survivorship, treatment, and tumor biology. Guys, this place is important, it is very important to us. Um, so yeah, and this is just another like I don't want to say like a branch of the Broadway Fan Club in this in the sense that like our focus has always been community. And this is just another community that is tied and integrated into our community that we can do something to support.
[32:54] Heather Bedor: That is a beautiful way of putting it.
[32:56] Amber Brzezinski: Absolutely. I'm talking with my hands again.
[32:59] Heather Bedor: No, it's okay. I do it all the time. Um, no, a hundred percent. Like, it is so important, and we just want to be able to help raise funds. Um, and why not be able to offer something? And being part of the Broadway Fan Club table means you guys might have a couple of little surprises coming your way. So let us know either one you want to sponsor a table. Um there's only two left, or two you'd like to attend and have a seat at the table. We'll need 10 people for that. Please reach out to us again. Um it's March 23rd. You guys can get to us sooner rather than later. We'd love to be able to help out Matt and Christine on the cause.
[33:37] Amber Brzezinski: Anyway, so yeah, um, we'll bring that back. So it was wonderful to see them, and I met some really lovely folks. Um, and it was a good time and and celebrating community there too. It's all about the community we have. Um, even in this dysfunctional family that we call this world, it's so important.
[33:53] Heather Bedor: So well put Amber. I think I think especially with this this world, like it's so hard. It's with so much going on, like it is it is important to realize that you do have these small communities to lean on and to support one another, and those make a bigger impact than I think you I mean, and with no disrespect to any of our members or anything of the above. I know people that have spent 600, 700, or 800 for a ticket to go see a show, and it goes right to the theater, and that's totally okay. If you guys have it in your budget to help support this community, please let us know. We're also going to be partnering with Janice Jam. Um, and we are making Janice Jam exclusive bracelets that are going to be available on our Etsy shop with a portion of proceeds going directly to Janice Jam.
[34:51] Heather Bedor: So it is the Broadway Fan Club.etsy.com. Amber will load those photos up. I do have some new ones that I made.
[34:58] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, and you have new bracelets.
[34:59] Heather Bedor: I have some new ones. I have some new ones.
[35:02] Amber Brzezinski: Oh boy.
[35:03] Heather Bedor: I don't have the I don't have the Janice Jam ones, but I've kind of new. I've got some new ones.
[35:09] Amber Brzezinski: Amber made a ton for new art drops, and I said I need all of them.
[35:09] Heather Bedor: All right. All right. So Torda bracelet. Forgive me. Forgive me if I go out of show order. We first have a Lost Voice in a oh yes, the have to have you. Have to have you. We have ideas. I was like, oh, I've been waiting. In the crystal designs with some nice blood drippings.
[35:41] Amber Brzezinski: Ooh.
[35:42] Heather Bedor: I almost wore my Lost Boys Roosevelts tonight.
[35:45] Amber Brzezinski: We also in the Crystal Lost Boys fashion have a nice bite me.
[35:52] Heather Bedor: That was my request. I love it. That was a request. And then we have a Lost Boys logo that I was really trying to capture.
[36:03] Amber Brzezinski: Oh sorry. The I'm trying to, I'm trying to rotate here.
[36:08] Heather Bedor: Nope, you did it wrong.
[36:10] Amber Brzezinski: The nope this way.
[36:11] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[36:13] Amber Brzezinski: The uh the vibe of their oh yeah, the colors.
[36:18] Heather Bedor: Colors because it's such a contrast. I I can't get these all the right way. I'm like a that's okay. But like how it goes from just like a darker edge to like a lighter side.
[36:31] Amber Brzezinski: So like I that's that was the vibe of this, and then of course our single crystal blood drop.
[36:38] Heather Bedor: Of course it is. Also, Olivia's gonna be at the first preview on Friday.
[36:42] Amber Brzezinski: Olivia, whatever they give away, I'm gonna need one.
[36:44] Heather Bedor: Yes, they won't be there.
[36:46] Amber Brzezinski: I if you it or two.
[36:49] Heather Bedor: Um or two. I have I have a beautiful one night in Bangkok, and I'm currently working on a team Anatoly and a team Freddie, so those should be up soon. We have a Hawkins 1959.
[37:06] Amber Brzezinski: I don't feel like I'm on home shopping network.
[37:08] Heather Bedor: Home shopping network.
[37:10] Amber Brzezinski: We also have a the first shadow, gender neutral in the play style.
[37:16] Heather Bedor: And we also have one.
[37:20] Amber Brzezinski: You got it.
[37:21] Heather Bedor: It was the right way.
[37:22] Amber Brzezinski: Now it's 100.
[37:24] Heather Bedor: Oh, was it? I thought it was back one before.
[37:26] Amber Brzezinski: Okay. All right, whatever. When and we have patient one. And now that Amber's seen Stranger Things. If you know.
[37:35] Heather Bedor: And then this was for the drop. But I redid our samper vivo.
[37:42] Amber Brzezinski: In a new style that I really wanted because I got a new pink color.
[37:47] Heather Bedor: So I wanted to make the vial kind of the central focal.
[37:51] Amber Brzezinski: It's gorgeous.
[37:53] Heather Bedor: So I redid that design. And then I did make some gender neutral every brilliant things, which we're gonna get our get get over to Daniel somehow.
[38:02] Amber Brzezinski: Yes.
[38:03] Heather Bedor: And one for you, Lair. Lair I got you. I know you're watching. It's upside down, but if she does it, you're gonna wear it.
[38:09] Amber Brzezinski: But it's brilliant.
[38:11] Heather Bedor: That's brilliant. And then last but certainly not least.
[38:17] Amber Brzezinski: The time warp.
[38:18] Heather Bedor: We have a time warp.
[38:22] Amber Brzezinski: Which I was really trying to capture all the fun colors from their promo photos.
[38:27] Heather Bedor: Cause I just don't I don't know what to expect yet. So my designs, I feel like the designs really kind of I try to go with the vibe of the show. And when I'm getting a different vibe from the promo photos and the logo photos, I don't we'll figure out which way to go.
[38:48] Amber Brzezinski: I'm waiting for more information, let's just say I love it.
[38:52] Heather Bedor: Oh man, well, thank you for that commercial break.
[38:55] Amber Brzezinski: I love it so much. Yes. And don't forget, uh, you can go to the Barbecue Club uh Etsy shop and order custom designs. If you don't for a theater teacher, I did just do a bunch for a theater teacher who wanted a bracelet for all of the shows that her theater has presented. It was very cool to do a bunch of fun customs.
[39:16] Amber Brzezinski: I love that. That's great. Yeah. Um and then, oh, did I mention that I happened to get an invite from a friend um to go to the Disney Theatrical Group office on guys? I nearly cried. It was like a Mecca. So I went over to the new am. I also had a ticket to go on to Aladdin because I haven't seen it in a while. And Michael James Scott is leaving soon and it makes me very sad and I love him so much. I wanted to go support. And I got an invite. And I showed up to the new am and it's like a whole bunch of school troops. My nose is itchy, so I must be talking about me. Um, but all of these school troops. I don't know how I didn't get sick of the city. Holy crap. There were like hundreds of kids. But um, I walk up and they're like, you gotta wait online.
I was like, oh, I'm here. I have a meeting uh in the office, and they asked me for money. They're like, oh man, I'm right to sway and they like walk me in, there's like a secret elevator and they have to like have somebody do it. I'm like, what is happening? Like I where am I going? And then I walk in and like the lobby is decorated, and they're like, Can we get you some water and I'm like okay and like I was there to visit a friend and I was very happy to see that friend but like then I got the tour holy crap like one of the coolest experiences walked in it used to be like the after hours theater got like the full experience of like the ghosts that haunt the building which you're all about oh wait to hear what happened during the show uh just you wait so um went in um they have like the rose from beauty of the beast and like a stack of newspapers from newsies and set designs from stuff and a Vita stuff or not a Vita holy crap did you just hear me say a Vita I did oh my god huh yeah my brain what not a Vita sorry guys review reverse I was talking to a friend who was just at the State Vespians who got to see a Vita and apparently I'm on a Vita mind oh no okay sorry um a friend of mine who had said a cast is dealing with something with our friend show um don't judge me I'm very embarrassed everything's fine um so back to Aida which is definitely the show you said in the beginning but they had like they have their whole merch department I'm purple.
[42:01] Amber Brzezinski: They have their whole merch area. So I could see like all of the merch they've had throughout the years, and like the bugs that got pulled from the lion king. And I'm just like, holy crap. And then like to get out, you go through like the cafeteria or like the kitchen. And they're just like freaking costumes on mannequins. You're just like, I would be afraid to eat next to these because they're just gorgeous. Or I would just be like, this is my favorite place ever. Um I went down and I went in and um had a great seat. Um, for those that don't know, the new Amsterdam has no bad seats. No, I just it's like such a great theater. Holy crap. One of my favorite last row, all the way house left, like against the aisle, so I could see all the people that were latecomers.
But it also gave me an opportunity that if I needed to use the restroom or step away for a phone call because my phone was blowing up for stuff, I could step away. And then if you go to the back area, there's like a little seated area by the accessible bathroom. Here comes my ghost story. So I went into the ladies' room into the accessible bathroom, so I don't have to go down and like kill myself essentially. And I'm in the bathroom and I'm in there for like less than a minute, and I hear like the door, you know, like the old doors, you can like kind of feel shake a little bit, and like the handles moving a little bit, like the door is literally moving and someone's knocking, and I'm like, I'm so sorry, I'll be right out, but like that low because it's in the middle of the show, and so like I was my hands, I dry my hands.
This is within like 10 seconds because I was already done. Right. Um okay, I'm not trying to overshare less than 10 seconds. I opened the door. There is not a I was expecting to see somebody like this, or sitting down waiting for the bathroom. Nothing, and it's a wall. You've been into the new amp, it's a wall to the left, it's a wall in front of me, and they would not have had time to go down and down the stairs. Huh.
[44:04] Heather Bedor: Also, very creepily. I'm having some paradigm with your new plan. And it looks like a dog staring at you from the side. Love that for you. Oh, I see it. Hi. I just see you. The little poop on the nose. I knew we were gonna do that. So yeah, um, that was a weird experience. But I got to see the show, and I know that show so well that I'm like, all right, I can go take a bathroom break now. Or okay, I can do this, or okay, I can do this. Um, so it was great, and I was so happy. And they had this really fun merch opportunity, um, which was a bundle, and like how I wasn't gonna buy it, but it was Genie as a bear. Um, you could either buy Jeannie or you could buy Jasmine. Obviously, I had to buy Jeannie.
Um, and it came with a crossbody tote. Nice. Um, it came with a choice of hold on one second. My mom just texted me once. Is everything okay? My great aunt just passed it. Okay. Well, Amber is gonna be handling that. I am gonna go over the lineup for Broadway Cares. Talking about. I just wanted to tell her I will call her in 20 minutes. Thank you for that. Um, so Broadway Care is just announced for Broadway Backwards, um, which I was going to be at, and Amber's gonna be at, but the scheduling shouldn't work out. But they have released their song list. It is the 20th anniversary of Broadway Backwards. Um, holy crap, it's going to be amazing. I'm very sad I'm not gonna be there, but I'm gonna enjoy watching it online. Yeah, their songs. Um, have you read through these amber? Because I'm gonna read them.
[45:49] Amber Brzezinski: I I've skimmed, but please by all means read. So block tango with Aaron Patrick Craven, Aiden Aiken, Roberto Fachin. Uh nobody can have regular names here. Jacques, Colton Krause, and Mitch Chauvin. I love Colton Krause. I'm obsessed with them. They are my craft. I love them. Ugh. Um, the history of wrong guys, because you know I love that song. Amber actually just got to usher that in Connecticut and Miss Harvey fire stand by this much. Um, and you got me the pin and I love you for so much. Anyways, the history of wrong. Sorry for you. I watched it. I watch it. Andrew Keenan Boulder and Karen Mitchell Jackson and Ensemble. When I'm not near the girl I love, Kate Baldwin. This nearly was mine, Nancy DuSalt.
All I need is the girl, Robin Herder and Alexandra uh Silver. The party's over. Len Carriel, freaking Sweeney Todd himself. Holy crap. What about love? Michael McElroy and um I cannot talk, McElroy, and Brian Terrell Clark. Guys, I hosted 13 panels at MegaCon this past weekend. I'm dying. Nobody needs to know by Hannah Cruz. Oh, hey, by the way, Hannah Cruz is gonna be on the show next week. From Backstage during Act One of chess. That is how she's doing starting. Yeah, it's amazing. Work. We're super excited. Um, surprise. Mac the knife, Leah McLa, I cannot talk. Deloria. I'm like super excited. One day more, which always makes me think of my Broadway crews from last year. Bobby Conte, Bradley Dean, Felicia Finley, Hey Majus, John Andrew Morrison, Ren Rivera, Alexandra Silver, Carson Stewart, and Ensemble, Be Italian.
Too bad it's not Tommy Brock. I'm doing it. Bradley Dean with Bred uh Fred Bred Furman, Fred Berman, My Mouth Needs to Stop Talking. Sam Faulkner, Janelle Faria Sando, and Ensemble. Adol Weiss, Dylan Mulvaney. The next 10 minutes, Jen Kalella and Lauren Patton. If you walked into my life, the one and only Andrew Randles. All I care about, Catty Huffman. I am what I am, Jennifer Holiday. And I am not while I'm around, Bernadette Peters and Leslie Uggams with Broadway inspirational voices. I would be hysterically crying. Hysterical. Hysterically. Hysterical. Amazing. Amazing. It's going to be incredible. But I should say.
[48:41] Heather Bedor: Yes. I'm loving all of the Andrew Rambles in my feed and in my life lately. I'm just loving the Andrew Andrew Resurrection. For those of you who are interested in still attending, there is an extremely limited number of tickets available to the public beginning Tuesday, March 31st. So yes. Jeffrey says, Will it be streaming? No, it will not be streaming as far as we've been told. If it will be, I will certainly let you know. Um, yes, holy crap. So um, yeah, that kind of segue us into our next topic of streaming. There are some things that are coming to streaming. Oh, there sure are. And I figured you'd be the one to want to make this announcement. Um, we have two, we have two things. Uh, first, we have um the oh my gosh, why did I just lose the full name of the show?
Not merely we were wicked. I look, I'm like, I'm staring at my water bottle. Wicked for good um is now available on. I was like, you forgot the word wicked Peacock, which is way more accessible. I believe it's like on like free streaming now, if you have these subscriptions, so love to see that. And Netflix has acquired we roll along next month.
[50:11] Amber Brzezinski: Oh, I somehow knew before Amberton. I know. I've well I've been I almost a day, I've been just sleeping lots, and then oh man, something this is not a streaming service, but this kind of ties along with it because when a show is streaming, you have this luxury because you are in your own home. However, when you go see a show on Broadway, you do not have this luxury, but sure don't you do for one chance only. The Great Gatsby is doing the sing along performance April 22nd at the Broadway Theater. So if you are someone that loves to sing along at a Broadway show when we don't want you to, this is your show. Amber sent me a message while her mom texted her that our two strangers carry a cake across New York had actual cake spam.
Cake spam. Yeah, there's like a man posting. Lots of cakes in there. I was just like, I was just like, I'm someone, there's a there's a cake designer in the cake group. I mean, that's fine. Good for them. Um, so then as soon as I got back from New York, Amber, I went to MegaCon.
[51:35] Heather Bedor: Yeah. And I have to tell you, I hosted Broadway Trivia on Friday. That group was on point. I was like, who's seen this show? Who's seen this show? And like everyone's from the state of Florida or like relatively nearby the state. That's a good thing. And it was great. I tagged everybody or as I put the photo, I can't talk words. I put the photo on and stuff. Um, and then we said tag yourselves, and everyone just loving it. And I love it. It was such a good group of people. Unfortunately, the dongle didn't work for me to play music, but we were just having a good time. Oh. But I'll tell you, MegaCon had the most theater related cosplays I've ever seen. Lots of fandoms and Christine's, but it was fun.
[52:21] Heather Bedor: And because two women in our Broadway trivia, um, like audience, they wanted to go.
[52:27] Amber Brzezinski: So Christian Boral was one of the guests.
[52:29] Heather Bedor: Right.
[52:33] Amber Brzezinski: Um, that was like, you know, the ones that you made for Jill.
[52:37] Heather Bedor: That was like, it's like the old school like rap looking ones with the faces.
[52:42] Amber Brzezinski: And it was like, it's hard to be the bard and it was the oh my god it was the Christian Burrow fan club and then on the back it said and Shakespeare and then crossed it out we love omelet.
[52:56] Heather Bedor: Oh my god, that's amazing.
[52:58] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, I need that shirt, right?
[53:01] Heather Bedor: That's a good thing.
[53:03] Amber Brzezinski: That is so good.
[53:05] Heather Bedor: So great. Um, but see I thought you were gonna say instead of like different this is this is where my this is where my mind went instead of it being like different like images of Christian in the rap poses.
[53:17] Amber Brzezinski: I was like, was it different cod pieces?
[53:20] Heather Bedor: I knew you were gonna say that.
[53:22] Amber Brzezinski: As you're saying, I was like, yeah, no. So for those that don't know, Amber had never watched Something Rotten.
[53:28] Heather Bedor: Sure.
[53:29] Amber Brzezinski: And I was like, you need to watch it.
[53:31] Heather Bedor: What do you mean you haven't?
[53:33] Amber Brzezinski: Because I would start singing, uh, musical, and she'd look at me like I was crazy. And so last year when I was visiting, we sat down and watched it, and like she was super tired. She had worked all day. She also like cooked us dinner, and like we're and it was cold, and there was like all sorts of stuff going on, and we watched it, and she was like, I'm just so tired, I can't even like focus on it.
[53:54] Heather Bedor: Oh, we watched it, and how many times have you watched it now?
[53:58] Amber Brzezinski: Many, many, many, many, yeah.
[54:01] Heather Bedor: And do you have a favorite song or a line?
[54:06] Amber Brzezinski: Uh god, that's tough.
[54:10] Heather Bedor: Is it hard?
[54:12] Amber Brzezinski: It is hard to be the bard.
[54:15] Heather Bedor: It's it's hard to be the bard. I got to see Adam Pesco.
[54:18] Amber Brzezinski: I feel like it's I feel like it would be something in like, God, I hate Shakespeare.
[54:22] Heather Bedor: Cause like that sound is so condescending. Like blah blah blah blah blah, Shakespeare.
[54:27] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah. This is just gonna turn into a Something Rotten podcast.
[54:30] Heather Bedor: Yeah. Anyway. But this will this Gatsby News will help us segue into the next topic, which is the uh second year cast of Stranger Things has um start is will be starting there.
[54:44] Amber Brzezinski: Um yes, um, and who I'm most excited to see is Zan Zondrondowski.
[54:54] Heather Bedor: Wow.
[54:55] Amber Brzezinski: Johns are not good for either of us.
[54:58] Heather Bedor: John Zadrowski, who you might remember from Gatsby, he was of the origin.
[55:03] Amber Brzezinski: Oh my god, my poster's fallen.
[55:05] Heather Bedor: He was the original Tom Buchanan.
[55:08] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and he will be taking over as Dr. Brenner, and he is going to be amazing.
[55:16] Heather Bedor: I cannot wait to see that.
[55:18] Amber Brzezinski: You forgot to mention the announcement for Gatsby, by the way.
[55:22] Heather Bedor: Um, which one?
[55:24] Amber Brzezinski: Corbin Blue is stepping in from a cowboy.
[55:27] Heather Bedor: I didn't I couldn't remember if we had talked about that last week, or we didn't have an episode last week, so that makes sense why we didn't talk about it.
[55:34] Amber Brzezinski: Corbin Blue, and then did I am sure?
[55:37] Heather Bedor: Corbin Blue will be reprising his role as Nick Caraway because he did originate it on the West End.
[55:44] Amber Brzezinski: Correct. Um, I'm also surprised you have not mentioned the O'Mary news.
[55:49] Heather Bedor: I have we haven't gotten there yet.
[55:51] Amber Brzezinski: Well, we've got three minutes left, baby.
[55:53] Heather Bedor: Well, we have just when we think O'Marry can't oh Marry us any anymore, they have they certainly have outmarried us.
[56:04] Amber Brzezinski: We have freaking Maya freaking Rudolph as the next O'Marry, which is absolutely amazing.
[56:13] Heather Bedor: Um we also have some familiar faces coming back. We have Bianca Lee coming back as Mary Chaperone, who we love her.
[56:24] Amber Brzezinski: Philip James Brandon as Mary's husband and uh Mary's teacher.
[56:29] Heather Bedor: I don't remember his name. Can you remind me of Jackson's coming back to Mary?
[56:36] Amber Brzezinski: Cheyenne Jackson is coming back.
[56:38] Heather Bedor: Um, and where I will be next Monday is at the Bushnell in Hartford, where the national tour is set to launch.
[56:49] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I'm going to be there for our season announcement where they will be announcing the rest of our season shows, which will be hosted by Peanut from Shuft.
[57:01] Heather Bedor: What?
[57:02] Amber Brzezinski: I just found I just found this all out. I was just like looking into it the other day. I was like, oh my god.
[57:08] Heather Bedor: And and there will be other special guests. So I'm excited to see who the special guests will be.
[57:13] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah. So as Amber said, we won't have an episode next week. We're gonna, it will just be on Thursday.
[57:19] Heather Bedor: We're not gonna have a regularly scheduled same bad channel, same bad time show.
[57:23] Amber Brzezinski: Yes. Yes.
[57:24] Heather Bedor: And in the words of new casting, um, Bob the drag queen has left uh Mulan Rouge and in exactly as I expected fashion, Megan the Stallion has made her entrance.
[57:44] Amber Brzezinski: I knew the year waiting to do that. They posted a uh cute little um trailer for Megan.
[57:52] Heather Bedor: Mulan Rouge team posted it, and she loves the stallion so good yeah just body snatched like oh I cannot wait that's gonna be amber's Halloween costume this year probably.
[57:52] Amber Brzezinski: No I could never I could never I would look like I would look like a like a trisket like a trisket like a square shape like I don't have that like I was like trying to think of like what like a trisket um it's like a more appropriate shape for me like a trisket yeah like a trisket you know yeah um so we also have let's just keep going like more casting casting casting casting uh as we were saying Andrew Reynolds is popping in doing a whole bunch of Mormon stuff because they're celebrating their 15th anniversary on Broadway they're gonna have that and they're doing the coolest thing to celebrate they're having like random um like the whole um like 30 alumni came to celebrate the event and then uh throughout the month uh our um they will have original cast members celebrating uh and performing select scenes and songs at each performance alongside the current cast where no show will be exactly the same.
[59:32] Heather Bedor: That just means utter chaos.
[59:35] Amber Brzezinski: Utter chaos.
[59:36] Heather Bedor: These, but you know what? They've been doing the show for 15 years. They better have that show memorized front, back, upside down.
[59:43] Amber Brzezinski: So get you know what? Throw throw the curveballs in. I like it.
[59:47] Heather Bedor: Mm-hmm. Um, I like it. A lot of our members in Just in Time are like um freaking out because they're at the game right now, and some of the Justin Time cats, including Matt, uh, is singing the national anthem.
[1:00:02] Amber Brzezinski: Yes, amazing.
[1:00:03] Heather Bedor: Amazing.
[1:00:04] Amber Brzezinski: Yep, go Rangers.
[1:00:06] Heather Bedor: Go Rangers.
[1:00:08] Amber Brzezinski: I think that's all of our news right now. Um, I think I had one more thing, but I'm trying to think of what it was.
[1:00:17] Heather Bedor: Oh, uh Little Shop, Little Shopcast.
[1:00:19] Amber Brzezinski: They just started Jordan Fisher.
[1:00:21] Heather Bedor: We have Nikki, my poster.
[1:00:24] Amber Brzezinski: Uh it's the ghost.
[1:00:27] Heather Bedor: It is the ghost is staring at you in disgust.
[1:00:30] Amber Brzezinski: Uh Andy Carl.
[1:00:32] Heather Bedor: So uh we have our uh Nikki M. James. They just started their run in Little Shop of Horrors, so that is absolutely amazing.
[1:00:40] Amber Brzezinski: I just love um seeing new old friends in new spots, right?
[1:00:47] Heather Bedor: Not to be confused with Sondheim's old friends for old friends, yeah.
[1:00:51] Amber Brzezinski: Speaking of yes, happy birthday, belated birthday by a day.
[1:01:03] Heather Bedor: The masters.
[1:01:04] Amber Brzezinski: How crazy is it that they have their same birthday?
[1:01:07] Heather Bedor: There's several points throughout history, way too long of a show for that. Um, to be able to go through all of it. Honestly, it's just crazy.
[1:01:14] Amber Brzezinski: But there are multiple like same people born in the same day, and it's like, yeah, yeah, okay, that's harts.
[1:01:19] Heather Bedor: Yeah.
[1:01:21] Amber Brzezinski: Um, and then last but not certainly least, um, we did hear the news that Leah Michelle will be playing her final performance in chess on June 26th. Replacement has not been announced, and Aaron and Nicholas have not announced any departure dates as well, as far as we know.
[1:01:40] Heather Bedor: They will be staying on um and for for at least a little while longer. Um, but we have had the first uh cast announcement leaving chess.
[1:01:54] Amber Brzezinski: We're missing a cast announcement.
[1:01:57] Heather Bedor: Which one?
[1:01:59] Amber Brzezinski: It's my show.
[1:02:03] Heather Bedor: Are you lost?
[1:02:05] Amber Brzezinski: No, it's my show.
[1:02:07] Heather Bedor: Oh, oh, your show.
[1:02:11] Amber Brzezinski: Your show.
[1:02:12] Heather Bedor: Uh-huh.
[1:02:24] Amber Brzezinski: Really?
[1:02:24] Heather Bedor: I'll take it.
[1:02:25] Amber Brzezinski: You can keep going.
[1:02:26] Heather Bedor: This is great. Lisa and Walter is going in the heaters as Mrs. Slimming and Veronica's mom.
[1:02:30] Amber Brzezinski: Um Jessie!
[1:02:35] Heather Bedor: Don't remember him.
[1:02:36] Amber Brzezinski: It says it's chassis.
[1:02:37] Heather Bedor: It's chessy.
[1:02:39] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, she's amazing.
[1:02:42] Heather Bedor: It's gonna be awesome. And then, of course, with uh we're we're all knowing I'm still fangirling over John Cardosa.
[1:02:48] Amber Brzezinski: You're oh, well, yeah, there's that. We're gonna finally get you to Heather's.
[1:02:53] Heather Bedor: Is that what's gonna happen here?
[1:02:54] Amber Brzezinski: Yeah, for sure.
[1:02:55] Heather Bedor: For John Cardoza, yeah, yeah.
[1:02:58] Amber Brzezinski: Okay, yeah, yeah.
[1:03:00] Heather Bedor: Okay, cool. Well, we've kept these people over their time.
[1:03:02] Amber Brzezinski: Um, I'm gonna go get some sushi because I'm starving.
[1:03:05] Heather Bedor: Yeah, it's it's Heather dinner time.
[1:03:07] Amber Brzezinski: It's it's night owl, uh night owl special.
[1:03:11] Heather Bedor: I didn't have breakfast. I had a very light lunch.
[1:03:13] Amber Brzezinski: Um, they opened up an Auntie Ann's in the bougie mall next to my house.
[1:03:17] Heather Bedor: And let me tell you guys, Auntie Ann's is charging seven dollars for a freaking pretzel.
[1:03:24] Amber Brzezinski: That's crazy.
[1:03:25] Heather Bedor: Yeah, yeah.
[1:03:26] Amber Brzezinski: But I like I like that they do the half and half where you get the half cinnamon, half butter.
[1:03:30] Heather Bedor: No, they don't do that if this one, they only do salt, um, unsalted, sweet almond, or cinnamon and sugar.
[1:03:39] Amber Brzezinski: No half and half, no nothing. Get them out.
[1:03:44] Heather Bedor: I just want to go back to New York and get a pretzel new work because those are only pretzels that count.
