Aaron Tveit is an American actor and singer known for originating the roles of Gabe in Next to Normal and Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can on Broadway. He also won the 2020 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Christian in the stage adaptation of Moulin Rouge!
Tveit was born in Middletown, New York, and began acting in high school musicals. He went on to study at Ithaca College, where he earned a degree in musical theater. After graduating, he quickly landed roles in national tours of Rent and Hairspray.
In 2007, Tveit made his Broadway debut in Hairspray, playing the role of Link Larkin. He went on to star in Next to Normal (2008), Catch Me If You Can (2011), and Moulin Rouge! (2019). He has also appeared in other Broadway productions, including Wicked and Assassins.
In addition to his theater work, Tveit has also appeared in several films and television shows. He is best known for his role as Enjolras in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Misérables. He has also starred in the TV shows Schmigadoon, Gossip Girl, Graceland, and Grease Live!
