Tony Award-winning costume designer Ann Hould-Ward brings a touch of magic to every character she adorns. Born in Glasgow, Montana, Hould-Ward honed her artistic talents at Mills College, the University of Virginia, and The Art Students League of New York. After working as an assistant to renowned designers Rouben Ter-Arutunian and Patricia Zipprodt, Hould-Ward's own design brilliance began to shine. Her collaborative efforts with Zipprodt on the costumes for Sunday in the Park with George (1984) garnered them both a Tony Award nomination – a fitting start to an illustrious career. Hould-Ward has since designed for an impressive 24 Broadway productions, including the beloved Beauty and the Beast which earned her the coveted Tony Award in 1994. From historical dramas to whimsical musicals, Hould-Ward's costumes transport audiences and breathe life into the stories unfolding onstage.
