Jacob Brent is an accomplished Broadway performer, director, and choreographer with an extensive background in the performing arts. He is best known for his captivating portrayal of Mr. Mistoffelees in the Broadway, London, and video productions of Cats, making him the only performer to have appeared in all three productions.
Brent's passion for theater ignited during his youth, leading him to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. His Broadway debut came in the 1997 revival of Chicago, followed by roles in productions such as The Capeman, Fosse, and The Drowsy Chaperone.
Brent's versatility extends beyond acting to directing and choreography. He has directed and choreographed numerous productions off-Broadway, regionally, and in summer stocks across the nation. His notable directorial credits include We Are the Tigers, Rags, and The Wiz, while his choreography has graced productions of The Little Mermaid, Footloose, and Guys and Dolls.
Brent's dedication to the performing arts extends to academia. He currently serves as the Program Director for Musical Theater at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he inspires and nurtures the next generation of performers.
