Maria-Christina Oliveras plays Luz Baccay in the Broadway premiere of The Balusters. A Drama Desk-nominated actress, her Broadway credits include Amélie, Machinal (Roundabout Theatre Company revival opposite Rebecca Hall), and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (her Broadway debut). Of Filipino and Puerto Rican descent, she is known for her transformational character work and for creating new roles in numerous world premieres.
Off-Broadway and in regional theater, Oliveras has amassed a wide-ranging body of work across classical and contemporary productions. A Yale University graduate who also holds an M.F.A. from the National Theatre Conservatory, her credits span companies including the Public Theater, Roundabout, and many others. Her television and film work complements a career built primarily on the stage, where she is recognized as a versatile and compelling performer.
