Annie Golden is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her roles as Norma Romano in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black and Squeaky Fromme in the Broadway musical Assassins. She has also appeared in numerous other films and television shows, including Hair (1979), I Love You Phillip Morris (2009), and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017-present).
Golden began her career as the lead singer of the punk band The Shirts in the 1970s. She released three albums with the band before moving on to acting. She made her Broadway debut in the 1977 revival of Hair, and went on to appear in several other Broadway musicals, including On the Town, The Full Monty, and Xanadu.
In addition to her work in theater, Golden has also had a successful television and film career. She is perhaps best known for her role as Norma Romano, a tough-as-nails inmate on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. She has also appeared in numerous other television shows, such as New Amsterdam, Evil, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
